Betty and Nicolas are in the Le Noir, and Armando is dying of jealousy but only bc he can't hear they talking.

Bc that's so much siblings energy. This is clearly an older sister fighting with her younger brother. If Armando hadn't arrived, Betty would have left there pulling Nicolas by the ears.

Watching episode 22, and I'm now realizing that one of Betty's many fantasies actually became true. Twice. The first it was a dream come true, and the second, a nightmare come true.

On episode 22, Betty is stuck on an awful double date with Aura Maria, her hookup, and another ugly as hell dude who is angry and disappointed that Betty isn't hot like Aura Maria. After trying a lot to make and keep a convo with this ungrateful rat-looking dude, Betty gives up and starts fantasizing that Armando shows up and asks her to dance. They begin dancing rather close and romantically, and, at this, rat-man gets angry and confronts Armando. Armando punches him and goes back to Betty, who says that he shouldn't have done that, but he tells her how much it bothers him when she's harassed.

Something rather similar happens in real life when Armando fights Román. Armando and Betty are having an intimate moment when Román and his friends show up and begin harassing Betty. Armando gets angry, fights them, and after all that, Betty says he shouldn't have, but he answers that he can't stand it when she's harassed oh to be Betty....

Armando in her imagination is gentlemanly, soft with her, and punches her harasser quickly and is over with it and then the whole scene goes back to only them and their moment of intimacy as if all the anger and violence had evaporated of Armando’s system in that quick hit. Armando feels no pain even though he punched a man in the face and threw him to the floor. Even the red lights of the scene give a rather fantastical element to the fight and the dance. It's quick and the viewer forgets about it immediately because what matters is the dance and the romance.

Armando in real life isn't soft or romantic. He's angry because he got hurt because there was real, prolongued violence. He doesn't speak softly or goes straight back to loving her. He's an actual human who really got angry and actually is in pain from the fight. The scene itself doesn't seem to see violence as something beautiful or romantic. Betty can see it, but she loves it nonetheless because she has always dreamed of him as her savior. How wouldn't she fall face flat in love with him when he straight up brought her fantasy to life?

It gets taken to the horrible extreme with the fight with Nicolás. Once again, Armado is "defending" Betty. Except this time there's nothing remotely romantic. It is Armando taken to his very limit and exposes just how dangerous and violent the whole "defend her honor" could get in a real scenario. It also shows how on many of these occasions with romance stories, this violence doesn't only come from a selfless desire to protect, but also to defend themselves and what they believe is theirs.

I just fond it rather interesting how it started so beautiful and romantic and fantastical, and ended up so brutal and horrible.

Also, I'm sure there could be a wholeeee analysis of how Armando is the stereotype of the "perfect" love interest but twisted in a very dark and human way. Also how ysblf's romance is very organic and not fantastical at all

Guinness World Records is saddened to learn of the death of the world's oldest man, Juan Vicente Perez Mora (Venezuela, born 27 May 1909), at the age of 114. He would have turned 115 next month.

His death was confirmed by Freddy Bernal, the governor of Táchira, Venezuela, where Juan lived.

He wrote on X:

"Our dear Juan Vicente Perez Mora today, with deep sadness and pain, we say goodbye to you, to that archetype of a man from Tachira, humble, hard-working, peaceful, enthusiastic about family and tradition.

Together with my wife and children, we had the pleasure and the pride of meeting him and sharing with his loved ones.

My old Don Vicente, we will always remember him for his optimism in life, for faith, hope, and that deep love for our state of Tachira.

He will always be a symbol of goodness, wisdom and joy, which is why his legacy will live forever in our hearts and in our lives.

Rest in peace my dear old man, my Don Juan Vicente. We will never forget you."

President Nicolas Maduro of Venezuela also paid tribute, writing:

"Juan Vicente Perez Mora has transcended into eternity at 114 years old.

From the town of El Cobre, he gave Venezuela the Guinness Record title for being the oldest man in the world.

I send my hug and condolences to his family and to all the people of El Cobre, Tachira state. May God receive him in his holy glory!"

Juan Vicente was confirmed as the oldest man living after Saturnino de la Fuente Garcia (Spain, born 11 February 1909) passed away on 18 January 2022 at 112 years and 341 days.

Juan was announced as the oldest man living at 112 years and 253 days, as of 4 February 2022.

He attributed his longevity to "working hard, resting on holidays, going to bed early, drinking a glass of aguardiente every day, loving God, and always carrying him in his heart."

Juan Vicente was married to Ediofina del Rosario García for 60 years until her passing in 1997.

Together, they established a family of 11 children, consisting of six sons and five daughters.

He later welcomed 42 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren into the family.

In 2019, he celebrated his 110th birthday, becoming the first male supercentenarian from Venezuela.

After living through both World Wars, seeing the invention of the television, and witnessing the landing of a man on the moon, Juan Vicente also survived COVID-19 in 2020.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time.

The next oldest man living is expected to be 112-year-old Gisaburo Sonobe of Japan, pending confirmation from his family.

There is a need for intense scrutiny with old-age claims.

GWR is advised in its ratification of longevity claims by the Gerontology Research Group, and, since 2005, by Senior Gerontology Consultant Robert Young.

I said once and repeat Nicolas mora is THE GOAT. Thank god Betty has him to share stuff.

Imagine discovering that your best friend YOUR SISTER is repeating the greatest sadness of her life. And more than that, Betty's revenge goes so deep and he remains by her side every step.

I hope they gave Nicolas a worthy ending in the upcoming sequel, HE DESERVES THAT.

My husband thinks that if Nicolás had not taken off his glasses before starting the fight with Armando, he could have had a chance of actually having a fairer fight. He argues that Armando was super intoxicated, to the point we even see him slurring his words and almost tripping going up stairs (at Inesita's house), and that you don't always need to be the biggest or strongest one in a physical fight to win, sometimes you just need to be agile and know how to not be hit, wait for an opportunity, and attack back. So he says that if Nicolás hadn't practically blinded himself, he could have even won the fight.

What do y'all think of this? How do you think the story could have changed if it had been an actual fight and not just Armando practically making a pulp out of Nicolás??

I was thinking that if the fight (not Armando just beating Nicolas) had gone for longer, maybe one of the two could have revealed too much. We see Armando yell that Betty is his and for Nicolas to take whatever he wants except Betty. And we also see Nicolás saying something along the lines of defending Betty from what Armando has done to her. So perhaps in the mix of the adrenaline and alcohol for Armando, one of them say something that can change things. Especially considering neither of them are particularly known for prudence lmao
