No Cap (18+)
Short, fun little blurb about phone sex with Travis. Enjoy!
Tumblr media
“Just tell me when to stop”, your friend Dani held her hands out, slowly dragging them further away from each other. “Stop.” She stopped just short of a foot. “Are you fucking kidding me?!?” she looked at you with disbelief. “I mean,” you closed one eye to measure with your forearm, “at least 7 inches.” “You’re fucking lying! I mean, damn Travis.” She kneeled into the couch, taking a seat next to you. “Ok, enough dick talk. What do you want for dinner?” You asked her as you pulled out your phone, bringing up the Uber Eats app.
You were hanging out with your roommate and best friend on a quiet Friday night because Travis was traveling to Tampa for a football game. You were just about to press order on your pizza delivery when Travis’ face flashed up on your screen with an incoming call. It was a picture you had taken of him at a baseball game you went to for your second date, Travis giving you a big, cheesy smile as he held up a yard long beer. It made you smile every time he called you. You and Travis had only been dating about three months, but you were head over heels in love.
“Hey!”, Travis had his phone propped on the hotel desk, sitting back in the chair, his sexy chest exposed, and you would have given anything to be running your fingers through his chest hair right now. You clenched your thighs together, squeaking out a greeting. Dani poked her head around the camera, her mouth agape at the sight of a half-naked NFL player. “Travis!”, she cried out. Your boyfriend quickly covered up his torso with a sweatshirt. “Hey Dani, what’s up?”, he replied, his cheeks turning red from embarrassment. “You have any single friends as “blessed” as you?”. She raised her eyebrows, and even through the camera he could tell her eyes were on his crotch. “No, all my friends are married. With kids.” “Shame. Let me know if anything changes.” Dani walked off to her bathroom, leaving the two of you alone.
“Sorry about her.” You rolled your eyes in her direction, Travis laughing. “I fuckin’ love her, she’s hilarious. How are you?” “Okay. Would be better if you were here.” You gave Travis your best pout. “I’ve been gone a whole 24 hours and you already can’t live without me?” Travis was teasing you, but he was right. One of the best things about your new relationship was the sex, and you didn’t go more than two days without getting into bed with Travis when he was home. “This is my first away game as your girlfriend, it’s torture.” Travis’ eyes turned dark as he leaned closer to the camera. “Show me how much you miss me baby.” You quickly ran to your bedroom and locked the door, laying on the bed so Travis could see all of your body. You slipped your shorts off, throwing them over on the floor. Travis groaned at the sight of your barely-there lace thong, barely covering your throbbing pussy. He shifted in his seat, his hard cock rubbing against the tight fabric of his boxers.
You slipped your fingers down your panties, feeling your wetness as you slid your fingers through your folds. Your orgasm was already building, every touch to your sensitive core causing you to clench around emptiness. “Take your pants off, baby.” You were breathless, rubbing circles around your clit as you watched Travis stroke himself. You slipped two fingers inside your pussy, curling your fingers to hit your g-spot repeatedly as you pumped in and out. He stroked the head of his dick, pre-cum leaking from the tip. “Fuck, I’m so wet for you Travis.” “If I was there I would fuck the shit out of you, no cap.” “Wait.” You pulled your fingers out, sitting up in the bed. You let out a loud laugh, Travis’ eyes shooting open at the sound. “Did you just say, ‘no cap’ while I’m finger fucking myself?” “No, I didn’t.” Travis rubbed his shaved head, trying to hold in a chuckle. You both burst out laughing, your side hurting when you couldn’t catch your breath. “You suck at phone sex, baby boy.” You pulled your bra off before pulling your tank top back down. “I’ll admit, I’m terrible, but I make up for it with the real thing.” “No cap”, you nodded your head in agreement.
“Well, the moment has passed, so I’m gonna go take a shower and go to bed.” You blew Travis a kiss as you said your goodbyes. “Wait”, he stopped you before you could hit end call. “Prop me up in the bathroom, I wanna watch you shower.”
“Sorry, bud, you’ll just have to wait for the real thing.” You winked before hanging up your phone.

have u seen the video of jason kelces daughter pointing out aj browns pink shows during the nfl game? anyway, theres definitely a video of little el pointing out her daddy on screen and its the cutest thing ever. shes like "daddy again! i see him mommy! oh! i see him again!" and jack literally melts when he sees the video because its literally the cutest thing ever
i love this so much 😭
it’s definitely when she’s like 3 and he’s on a roadie, Lovie just thinks it’s too cute to not record
***
it should’ve never surprised me how focused my daughter could become whenever a hockey game is involved.
with every male in her life being a former or current player, there’s constant hockey around her. i guess i just never assumed that at three years old, she could be so content in watching a hockey game.
El is sat on the couch when i return from the nursery, her bowl of fruit next to her and her eyes laser focused on the Devils game that plays on the tv. she looks over as i sit beside her, taking note of my empty arms.
“my Leo sleeping?” she wonders, her eyes wide and curious.
i wrap an arm around my daughter, pulling her close to me as my other hand runs through her wild blonde curls.
“yeah, lovely. Elio is asleep, so we can’t be too loud, okay?” she nods at my words, laying her head against my chest and dialing back into the game.
i tune in as well, noticing the score has yet to change from 0-0 since i left to put my son to sleep. it’s well into the second period, and i know my husband and his teammates must be frustrated.
i’m proven correct when the camera pans to the bench, where Jack heatedly converses with his brother.
“mommy!” El’s head pops up from its spot, her sticky little hand patting my cheek to make sure i’m paying attention. “it’s daddy! and uncle Luke!”
“yeah?” i laugh, pressing i kiss to the top of her head.
“yeah! i see them, mommy!” her voice is near yelling, high with excitement as she leaves my arms, bounding closer to the television.
the camera is back on the ice now, where the ref calls a penalty on the other team for tripping.
sliding my phone out of my back pocket, i swipe into the camera app, discreetly propping the now recording phone up on a toy on the coffee table. the camera captures the expanse of the half of the living room that El and i currently occupy, providing a good shot of my daughter that stands at the tv, and of me where i sit on the sofa.
i focus back on the game, my husband on the current power play unit.
he passes the puck back and forth with his teammates around the opposing teams net, and in a matter of seconds, he’s got the puck back and he’s shooting it straight past the goalie.
a wide grin spreads across my lips, a squeal escaping me in excitement.
“GO DADDY!” El cheers, jumping up and down in front of the tv. she turns back to look at me and runs over, climbing back up on my lap. “he did it, mommy! daddy got a goal!”
“he did, munchkin!” she climbs back down, looking back at the tv.
“daddy again! i see him mommy!” she calls out as the screen zooms in on a closeup of my smiling husband before panning back out to show him skating over to the bench.
the game cuts to media break and i look back at El’s smiling face, a spitting image of Jack’s smile.
when the game returns, it opens on a shot of Jack sitting on the bench, talking animatedly to Nico.
“oh! i see him again!” El cries out, pointing at the tv as she bounces around. “that’s daddy! that’s my daddy!”
i gather my phone from the table, cutting off the recording as my daughter rejoins me on the couch. she curls up in my lap, pulling the bowl of fruit on the couch back into her own lap.
i quickly send the video to Jack, for him to watch when he gets back to his hotel, and then set my phone down on the arm of the couch, wrapping my arms around my three year old.
we sit like this for the remainder of the game, El falling asleep during the second intermission, and only once the Devils have won 3-1, do i move her into her bed.
i turn the tv off, cleaning up the living room and placing the empty bowl from El’s fruit into the dishwasher before retreating to my own room for the rest of the night. i plug my phone in, changing into my pajama’s, brushing my teeth, and washing my face before climbing into my bed.
i’m just about to turn my lamp off when my phone begins to ring, and i look over to see an incoming facetime from Jack.
accepting the call, it’s no more than a few seconds before it connects, his smiling face filling my screen.
“hi, love.” i greet, smiling back at him.
“hi, lovie. El asleep now?” he questions, and i notice his hair is damp, apparently freshly washed, but he’s not in his hotel room, rather sitting on the plane.
“yeah, she fell asleep during second intermission.” i tell him. “pretty sure she was just waiting for you to score before she let herself crash.”
he chuckles and i speak again, “i thought you guys weren’t coming home until tomorrow afternoon?”
“no, we’re about to take off. i’ll be back by the time you wake up, i just wanted to talk to you before you go to sleep.”
my heart flutters in my chest. eight years together and he still never fails to make me feel like i have a schoolgirl crush.
“i loved that video, thank you for capturing that. and for sending it.” his eyes are soft, and i know he must be missing El a lot right now.
“yeah, well, i wanted you to see your number one fan.” i laugh, and he feigns offense, holding his free hand to his chest.
“i thought you were my number one fan.”
“i think El’s got me beat now.” i exaggerate a pout and he chuckles.
“i gotta go, we’re about to take off.” he sighs, and i nod in understanding. “i’ll see you when i get home. i love you, beautiful.”
“i love you too, love. see you when you get home.”

Killer Kravings
A/n: Happy preseason game day! Here’s some cute Justin fluff for ya.
Warnings: pregnancy
Follow-up piece
Tumblr media
You really did try to go to sleep. You readjusted the pregnancy pillow to where you wanted it, a few times, turned up the fan from your phone and even scrolled mindlessly through Tik Tok for an hour with your headphones in but nothing could take the one thing on your mind: cinnamon French toast and a vanilla shake from Canter’s Deli. The only issue was that it was 1:42am and Justin was soundly asleep next to you. You didn’t want to risk waking him up and disrupting his sleep schedule three days before a game but you also knew that the only way you’d be able to get some sleep tonight is if you made this tiny road trip.
As stealthy and quietly as you could get out of bed at 33 weeks pregnant, you grabbed a hoodie to pair with your Nike sweat shorts and headed to the closet to find some shoes. You were prepped and ready to go until you noticed your husband sitting up in bed, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes.
“Where are you headed off to?” His voice was a bit hoarse from not using it for a few hours. And probably from celebrating and cheering with the guys all throughout practice this week.
You’d been busted. “I can’t sleep and the baby really wants a vanilla shake from Canter’s and—”
“Canter’s? That’s like an hour away babe, you’re not going by yourself.” Justin huffs out a breath, standing up and giving his body a quick stretch, attempting to soothe the sore muscles that have accumulated a lot of wear and tear throughout the season. “Give me like two minutes, I’ll drive.”
“No it’s fine, I’ll be right back. You can go back to sleep, it’s Raiders week.”
He laughs and grabs a T-shirt and shoes, quickly getting dressed. Once he was finished, he stood up to place a tender kiss to your forehead. “It is Raiders week but I’ve got an important mission to accomplish right now. Let’s go get you and my baby some Canter’s.”
Although you felt a little guilty for waking him up, you secretly relished in the moments you got to spend alone with Justin during football season. Most of the time you only saw him for a few hours at a time when he wasn’t at the facility or watching film and you’d even taken up watching game tape so much that you could probably break down most NFL defenses if you wanted to. But this season was a little different with the pending arrival of your first child. Baby Herbert was going to be half you and half him and you’d never seen him so excited and ready for this next chapter of your lives.
Justin always talked about how his dad had shaped him as a person and he modeled the way he lived after Mark Herbert and the thought of having his own kid to look after and take care of created this glow of joy around him everywhere he went. And it made him even sexier if you were honest. Although the season was busy he was even more attentive and caring than before which you didn’t think was possible. He attended every doctors appointment 15 minutes early, read more baby books than you had, downloaded a pregnancy app to track the baby’s growth as well as tracking your sleep while he was on the road. It was sweet. You couldn’t wait to watch him walk around your house holding a tiny baby in his large hands. But there was also the fact that you’d decided to procreate with a man who was 6’6 and weighed 240 pounds so maybe…baby Herbert could just stay in there a little while longer.
Two and a half hours later, you were back home sitting at the kitchen counter ready to dig into the meal that you had been thinking about for approximately five hours.
“Do you want some?” You asked him in between bites, letting out a satisfied moan.
You hear a small laugh behind you as he places his hands around your bump, making tiny circles with his thumbs. “I’m okay baby, I’ll just wait til you’re done so we can head upstairs.”
“Thanks for taking me J. I’m sorry for interrupting your sleep.”
“Eh I’ll be fine. As long as my girls are okay, I’m good.” He responds with a peck as he helps you up the stairs.
“Well your girls appreciate it. And we’re so lucky to have you.” You yawn as you climb back into bed, Justin covering the two of you with the duvet. He cuddled into you as you hugged your pillow once again, sleep quickly taking over.
Just when you thought you couldn’t love him any more, you made him a dad and the love you had for him increased tenfold.

WIP Wednesday
Tagged by @destielbuddiepipeline before it was even Wednesday for me. But now that I've actually been to bed and had some coffee, I was inspired by Temptation Tuesday and started this bad boy (just for @destielbuddiepipeline bc they got super excited for it, which made me excited so I put words to the screen.)
This is my Buck is an NFL quarterback and in a secret longterm relationship with Eddie, who is the newest member of the 118. Chim and the others are really curious about their new team member who has years of experience, shares little about his personal life, and never works a shift when the L.A. Rams have a home game.
Tumblr media
“HOLY SHIT!” Chimney shouts the moment the tweet pops up in his notifications. ESPN and the NFL app follow shortly after with the same breaking news.  One of the top quarterbacks in the league was coming to L.A. on a blockbuster trade.
“Put ESPN on!” Chimney demands as he pushes himself away from the kitchen table and quickly shuffles his way over to the lounge area.
Jefferson doesn’t hesitate and immediately changes the channel from the Bones rerun to a panel of sport analyst of ESPN.  Scrolling across the very bottom of the screen read, “Breaking News: Evan Buckley traded! Headed to Los Angeles Rams!”
“Oh my god! Our chances at the Super Bowl just skyrocketed!” Chimney exclaims in pure delight.  High fives are spread all around with those who actually appreciated the Rams.
In the distance a phone rings in the captain’s office.
“It’s official.” Maddie says over the phone. Eddie hums, watching the muted ESPN channel as the panel of several sports’ analyst freak out over the block buster trade. “And you’ve given your notice? To both districts?”
“Yea. Captain Royce is sad to see me go but thinks the change of scenery would do me good. Which I don’t know if I should be insulted or not.” Eddie answers.
Maddie is silent for a moment.  She was probably remembering how Eddie almost lost his life during rescue attempts after Hurricane Harvey. Or maybe she remembers the nasty custody battle he went through with Shannon just before she was killed in a hit and run. There was also Buck’s leg injury that almost ended his career and Maddie’s ex-husband trying to kill her only to end up dead himself.  There were several not-so-great memories wrapped up in Houston, but neither of them actually says it out loud.
But yea, the change of scenery would be good for all of them. The Texans just weren’t the team for Buck anymore and the L.A. Rams were just on the precipice of another Super Bowl run.  They believed Buck was one of only a handful of missing pieces to make it happen and Eddie could see by February next year Buck hoisting the Lombardi.
“LAFD is one of the top fire departments in the country.  They’ll be lucky to have you.” Maddie finally says.
Eddie laughs, “Well they may be just a little too excited. I’ve already been assigned a house even though we won’t be out there until end of May.”
“Oh? Which house?”
“118 with Captain Robert Nash.”
Ya'll I even made a fake tweet with an actual sports person who basically has all the inside information for the NFL. He always breaks the big NFL news first. This will probably end up being a long one shot. The timeline is an odd mix of canon 9-1-1 and actual NFL events mixed all together.
Also it pains me greatly to make another NFL team so amazing and win the Super Bowl that isn't the Kansas City Chiefs. But since they won this year, the pain is less.

-
“where’s the train station?” you ask someone as you try to find it yourself. “the metro is that way” the person responds while pointing straight ahead.
i swear i’ve already been there
you’re were still finding my way around london, but it’s harder than it looks. you got around new york so well when you were in college, but this is a whole new city, in a whole new country.
you had been walking for a good while in the direction that the person told me, but didn’t see the train station at all. you were started to think that they might have lied to mess with you, or if they accidentally told you the wrong direction.
perfect… just perfect…
“mate you did great. all of you did great. you should be so proud of yourselves” ben says as him and christian are watching an nfl game.
“i know i know, it’s just, i feel like i let the boys down. i could have pushed myself more, you know?”
“chris, you did well”
christian turns back to the tv as he take another sip of his beer. he knows ben means what he says, but it was still going to be hard to get out of this “slump”.
the game soon comes to an end, the bills beating the jets 20-12
“would you look at that, another loss”. christian gets up to throw my bottle away and gets something to eat.
“christian, please. it’s just a football game, and plus they play the lions next, so they’ll surely win. and stop beating yourself up about the world cup, alright?”. christian rolls his eyes and grabs the doritos bag from the pantry.
about an hour goes by, doritos bag empty, and both ben and christian tired. “i’m gonna head out ben. thanks for having me over”
jesus it’s cold. the second christian is outside he’s greeted with the cold, winter air of london and makes his way to the train station.
“where is this goddamn train station?!” you mumble to yourself while aggressively trying to look at a map on your phone, which wasn’t working very well since it’s was about to die, and the signal wasn’t great.
“excuse me, do you know where the train station is? someone said it was this way but i’m pretty sure it’s definitely not in fact, this way” you ask a man. he seemed tired and a bit annoyed, but you were getting desperate at this point.
“yeah, i do, i’m actually headed there right now if you wanna just follow me”.
thank god
“oh my god, thank you. you’re a life saver”. he gives a little chuckle and smiles as the two of you start walking. it’s a little awkward as he is a complete stranger, but you were just happy to get headed home.
“i’m christian by the way” he says, breaking the awkward silence.
“i’m y/n. nice to meet you christian”
christian… nice name. and nice looking guy. you hadn’t really noticed how attractive he was, and he was very attractive, and very familiar looking.
soon enough they two of you get to the train station, and you thank christian and go your separate ways, until you realize that you are both going on the same train.
“long time so see” he jokes. christian then takes a seat next to you. it was a little awkward since you two had just seen each other, but you weren’t complaining. better than sitting next to a stranger.
for the first 5-10 minutes, you just looked at your phone, but not really doing anything. opening apps just to close them, checking the time even though you know only 30 seconds have gone by since last checking the time.
“so, what do you?” christian broke the silence. you were kinda glad that he was the one to say something. you wanted to talk to him, but didn’t want to be weird about it.
“well, i’m trying to figure that out. i would love to be a director, and i majored in both film production and photography, and minored in english. at the moment i’m trying to find photography jobs, and i’m working on a script for a movie, although the script is in its early stages”.
you didn’t even realize you were rambling. it had been a long day, and considering you didn’t have any friends in london, and the time difference made it hard to talk to your friends back home, christian become your victim.
“sorry” you realize you gave, basically, you’re entire life story.
“sorry?” christian asks. it was as though he was confused as to why you were saying sorry. sorry? sorry? sorry for over sharing to a stranger at 8 pm on a sunday.
“no need to apologize. and that’s so cool that you’re into all of that. takes a lot of creativity and hard work. pretty sick”.
you couldn’t help but blush a little. you never thought about what you do to be that cool. you always thought what you did was cool, and NYU had an amazing art program, but you come from a law family. your mother is a lawyer, your father is a lawyer, your brother is a lawyer, your grandfather was a lawyer, and so on. of course your family was always proud of you, but there was always an expectation from others to follow in your family’s footsteps. pursuing film production and photography is hard, especially in such a competitive field, and you found yourself working on multiple projects at once, staying up late to work on them, just to scrap all of your work.
so yes, it was refreshing to hear christian say what you did is cool.
“this is my stop” you say as the station comes into view. you and christian had talked about movies and books pretty much the entire time on the train.
“hey, um, i don’t know if this would be a little weird, but can i get your number?”
his question caught you very off gaurd.
“sure” you say, not really thinking. the train was pulling into the station and there wasn’t much time to think, so you put your number into his phone.
“see you later, christian”.
christian saw the train station coming into view, and as soon as he did his kind started racing.
i want her number, but would it be weird if i asked? she said she was new to london, meaning she probably doesn’t have many friends, plus she’s really nice and i had a nice conversation with her. shit. i don’t have much time. fuck it.
“sure” she says. christian was fully expecting an awkward response, ultimately ending in him not getting the girls number, so her “sure” caught him off guard.
she put her number into his phone and handed it back to him. all he could do was stare at the number and the contact name she had put into the phone. it was like christian was back in high school getting his crushes number. he had a little smile on his face, continuing to just look at the contact.
“see you later, christian”
christian was brought back to reality, and looked up from his phone to see y/n making her way to the train door.
“yeah, see you later” is all he managed to say.
the doors to the train closed, and it was off to the next stop. at around 8:30 it finally got to christian’s stop. it was quiet out, not many people out, which wasn’t unusual. christian was more than happy, and relieved, to be home. there was nothing he wanted to do more than get changed into clean clothes and sit on his couch and do all of nothing.
right as christian enters his house he gets a text
“hey #10”

#SwiftTok had a rough day. Early Thursday, after Universal Music Group and TikTok failed to reach an agreement on licensing music from UMG artists on the app, sounds from those artists—including Taylor Swift, Drake, and others—went silent.
“Some of my most viewed videos are ones talking about Taylor Swift that have Taylor Swift songs in the background,” says Savannah Delullo, a Wordle influencer on TikTok and a Swiftie. “So, them being muted is pretty sad, because we put in all of that work.”
Delullo notes that creators might switch over to alternative versions of the official songs or experiment with ways to avoid copyrighted music altogether, but still the mood on #SwiftTok is far from light.
“Half my drafts are muted now,” says Madeline Macrae, a Swift fan and TikTok creator. While initially frustrated by the change, Macrae thinks there might be positive impacts. Even though many ardent fans value the online community built through social media, some are also uncomfortable with the flattening of poetic songs into 60-second memes. “Songs that Swifties would usually gatekeep aren't going to be TikTok-ified now,” she says.
It’s not just Swifties who are missing music on TikTok. Multiple videos posted on Olivia Rodrigo’s official account, including one with over 50 million views, are now quiet. Similarly, TikToks with UMG licensed music posted by Billie Eilish to promote her album display the message “This sound isn’t available.”
During recent years, UMG and other labels have built marketing strategies around getting songs to go viral with the TikTok algorithm. Younger users see the platform as a great way to discover their next favorite song and build out cool playlists. If TikTok and UMG don’t reach a new deal soon, the prohibition could dramatically alter how artists tease new music and connect with fans through social media.
In an email to WIRED, Barney Hooper, a global head of music communications at TikTok, indicated that the change impacts only music from UMG and confirmed that videos with previously licensed music will stay muted until another deal is closed. Soon, TikTok might also take steps to remove songs in the Universal Music Publishing Group catalog, which would increase the number of impacted artists.
So, licensed music from UMG artists is gone from TikTok, for now, but it remains unclear what will happen to unofficial remixes and mashups as the catalog is wiped from the platform. Viral sounds on TikTok are sometimes warped versions of an original song, with vocals frequently sped up, and while some of those sounds remained on the platform Thursday, they may not for much longer.
A well-known musician for almost two decades, Swift has seen her popularity skyrocket in recent years. Her Eras Tour is so massive it has the power to impact local economies and her appearances at NFL games to watch her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, play have altered football viewership this season. Losing her music as well as tunes from Drake and others in UMG’s lineup could alter the fabric of TikTok itself.
Swift’s songs may no longer be all over the platform, but music remains core to the user experience of scrolling through TikTok. The cascade of snippets from huge artists disappearing could even usher in a new era on the For You Page feed. “I feel like a silver lining to this is that smaller or independent artists can have their chance to go viral,” says Macrae.

New Post has been published on https://www.packernet.com/blog/2024/02/07/twists-and-turns-the-packers-defensive-coordinator-search/
Twists and Turns: The Packers' Defensive Coordinator Search
When the Green Bay Packers began their search for a new defensive coordinator, they quickly identified Ejiro Evero from the Carolina Panthers as a top candidate. Evero had previously worked with the Packers in 2016 and had even interviewed for the same position in 2021, showing mutual interest. It seemed likely that he would be chosen to replace the departed Joe Barry. However, due to his existing contract, the Panthers prevented the Packers from interviewing Evero. With this key option off the table, Green Bay had to explore other possibilities.
In North Carolina, sports betting on the Panthers has gained popularity since North Carolina sports betting apps were introduced. Now fans can easily place bets on Panthers games and player performances using their phones. This increased engagement has made watching Panthers games even more thrilling for local fans. Additionally, it offers more opportunities for analysis and discussions about how well the Panthers defense performs each week.
No stone unturned
According to a report, initially, the team offered Baltimore Ravens linebackers coach Zach Orr an opportunity with Green Bay. Despite being regarded as a rising defensive talent in the league, Orr declined this offer. This was an early setback for the Packers as they highly valued Orr’s experience both as a player and coach of linebackers. His decision to stay with Baltimore forced Green Bay to reevaluate their options.
After ruling out Evero and facing Orr’s lack of interest, the Packers shifted their focus to the college ranks and conducted interviews with several talented defensive minds. Eventually, they settled on Jeff Hafley, former head coach of Boston College. Hafley brings with him a solid defensive background from both the collegiate and NFL levels. He has previously excelled in coordinating defenses at Ohio State and with the San Francisco 49ers. His proven ability to elevate defense played a significant role in his selection for the job.
Defense must improve
Hafley faces pressure to quickly revamp the Packers defense, which ranked 27th in yards allowed last season. The team struggled notably against the run and was unable to generate enough turnovers. However, Hafley’s versatile scheme provides flexibility in countering opposing offenses while making use of dynamic pass rushers like Rashan Gary. Additionally, with Jaire Alexander, an elite cornerback returning from injury, Hafley inherits valuable pieces that can contribute to significant improvement.
The search for a defensive coordinator by the Packers revealed the intricate dynamics involved in hiring coaches within the NFL. Contractual limitations prevented them from securing their top choice in Evero, who likely would have accepted had it not been for Carolina’s interference. An initial offer made to Orr also fell through before identifying Hafley as another promising option worth considering. Although he wasn’t initially their first choice, Hafley now has an opportunity to reshape the Packers defense into an exceptional unit.
The involvement of head coach Matt LaFleur in the hiring process, rather than GM Brian Gutekunst, shows a strong collaboration within the Packers leadership to find the right fit for an important position. This indicates that the organization is dedicated to aligning its vision.
4-3 defense coming to Green Bay
Hafley’s success depends on his ability to swiftly implement his strategies and make the most of the talented players already in Green Bay. He may choose to retain certain assistants, like experienced defensive line coach Jerry Montgomery, to facilitate a smooth transition. Additionally, Hafley needs to establish a connection with his star players in order to gain their support. Their skills as playmakers are crucial for executing his game plans.
In general, Green Bay faced obstacles along the way when appointing their new defensive leader. If Hafley can fulfill his considerable potential, despite these challenges, it will be considered a successful search. One that helped elevate the Packers defense back to championship caliber. With Aaron Rodgers still performing at his best, there is a sense of urgency for Hafley’s strategies and play-calling to yield fast results. Only time will reveal if this promising coordinator can deliver on that promise in his first NFL role leading a defense.
There is significant pressure on Hafley and the defensive unit to make rapid progress this season.
Packers supporters are well aware that even slight enhancements to their defense could propel Green Bay into the ranks of legitimate Super Bowl contenders once more. With a history of stumbling in championship games, a capable defense might finally be the key that propels this talented roster towards securing another Lombardi Trophy.

It's A Revolution
Professional sports have long been available for free viewing, either on cable, satellite, or over-the-air. Of course, league blackout rules apply in certain places, and there are season pass options available for die hard fans. The gist of it is that watching the game, whatever it may be, has been of the people and for the people.
But that is slowly changing. In 2021, Amazon signed on for 11 seasons of Thursday Night Football, and has effectively added one more day of the week to fans’ football-watching activities. Well, as long as you have Amazon Prime, know a friend who does and doesn’t mind you crashing there, or can find it at a sports bar. Otherwise, you’re out of luck.
AppleTV+ has dibs on Major League Soccer, which proved to be a huge win for Apple last year when Messi started playing for Miami. It’s an upgrade to the standard AppleTV+ subscription, but some games are shared across the AppleTV+ platform for the basic subscribers.
And now we come to the latest: Peacock, owned by NBCUniversal, carried this last Saturday’s playoff game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Miami Dolphins, and based on the data, it was the “most-streamed live event in US history.” Some 23 million viewers turned in, of which 16.3 million were logged in to Peacock. The remaining seven million were viewers in the KC and Miami markets, as well as subscribers to the NFL+ mobile app.
Tumblr media
But the superlatives don’t stop there. The game also practically choked the internet, accounting for 30% of all web bandwidth during the game. It was the “most internet usage ever in the US on a single date.” Take that, Netflix.
So what’s the problem, you ask? Well, there was a huge outpouring of negativity on social media, because some viewers felt like they were being extorted for $5.99 a month to sign up for Peacock (which, of course, they could cancel at any time). And some lawmakers are concerned as well, because…you know…that’s not how we have always done it.
We may see a court battle or two over this, but I suspect the ship is sailing, and we will now begin to see ever more professional sports on subscription streaming services. And with good reason, because pro sports is about the only reason people watch linear television these days. OK, maybe the evening news, but I have already digested all of the day’s news online long before the 10pm showing. When you consider that 93 out of the top 100 broadcast programs last year were NFL games, you see the magnitude of this.
Think about it. The only content with a shelf life of not more than a few hours is sports and the news. Who wants to watch yesterday’s football game, or last night’s newscast? I’ll wait. And we’ll all happily wait to watch everything else on our own schedule, whether by DVR or streaming on demand.
It’s just that, as we continue to cut the ties that bound us to all those legacy media outlets, the new model is all about streaming. While there is much consolidation going on—that’s a topic for a future blog—it also means there will be more resources among the surviving conglomerates to do what Peacock just did, and what Amazon has been doing. Exclusive rights cost big money, but with that many eyeballs, it is well worth the price. Advertisers love it, and so does any company with the rights.
For consumers, it signifies a continuation of the drift away from legacy outlets, and toward the streamers. I know. The prices and bundling options available these days are beginning to look a lot like that which we left behind with cable and satellite, but that’s how it goes. Orwell noted that tendency in Animal Farm. The Wheel of Retailing Theory says the same. A revolution eventually begins to look a lot like that which it sought to replace.
And if you want to watch pro sports in the future, I am betting heavily that you’ll have to join the revolution. Or find a friend who has. Just be sure to bring food and beverage.

Appeal of Long YouTube Videos (10+ Minutes)
I am going to be completely honest. I think every single video that I watch is over 10 minutes. I think we have reached a point in time where there are soooo many apps that produce little snippet videos (tik tok, Insta shorts, snapchats, etc). We are so exposed to these short videos that we go to YouTube for long videos, almost like Netflix, Hulu, HBO Max, etc. The appeal of long YouTube videos are that they are full experiences now. In the beginning of YouTube, people might vlog and record some cool random stuff and post it. Nowadays, the big main YouTubers hire editors and have full studios they record these videos in. My favorite YouTube videos to watch are sports gamers (NFL Madden, NBA 2k, etc). These guys post 25+ minute videos every time because they do a pre game play portion where they show us their team, make changes, get new players. AND THEN the game starts and the game alone is 10-12 minutes. Then, they wrap it up with the last few minutes. But all in all, its a whole experience. No way they could fit it under 10 minutes, so the appeal of long videos is to fit the content in that the audience wants and have it flow almost like a movie would.

Snow Day
Pairings: Fiance!Travis Kelce x Fiance!Reader
Words: 1,095
Warnings: None, pure fluff
Tumblr media
Even though you and Travis had only been engaged for a couple of months and living together for about a year, you finally felt comfortable in the NFL life. Travis’ schedule was always busy, even in the off season, so while you spent the first couple of months of your relationship missing him and sitting around waiting for him to come home, you had learned to enjoy the quiet and find your own groove.
You settled into your morning bath, something that you looked forward to after your 5AM workout. Kansas City winters were cruel to your skin, so you loved to be able to sink into the hot water, the temperature just shy of scalding hot. You slid down the tub, allowing your head to dunk under the water, a few bubbles leaving your lips. You emerged from the water when you could no longer hold your breath, the bubbles on the top of the water’s surface clinging to your face. The soap was burning your eyes, so you kept them closed, reaching for your towel to dab your face.
Your tranquility was quickly ruined by the sound of the door opening, Travis walking in drenched in sweat, the stench of his training lingering in the air. Your eyes shot open to the sight of Travis stripping down and stepping one of his long legs into the top between your thighs. You shifted to sit up, his move surprising you. “What are you doing?!” “What? Ow! Why is it so hot, are you trying to burn your skin off?” Travis winced as he settled into the water. “Again, I ask, what are you doing?” You looked at your fiancé, who was interrupting your personal time. “Practice was canceled, we’re expecting a snowstorm.” He leaned forward to dunk his head under the water, his nose grazing your knee as he did so. “No, I mean why are you in the tub, with me?”
“Oh, I missed you. We need to spend more time together.” Travis shrugged. You turned your body carefully, sitting in between Travis’ legs, resting your back against his chest. His big hands wrapped around your waist, taking his time to touch multiple places on your body that tickled you. “Hey! Watch the hands or your gonna get kicked out of the bath.” Travis kissed behind your ear, resting his chin on your shoulder. “We’ve got the day together, what do you want to do?” You raked your hands through the water, only a few bubbles left on the surface as the water temperature dropped.
“I have a long to-do list today, a lot of boring things though.”, you told Travis. “Alright, I’ll just follow your lead.” You rolled your eyes, this was going to be an interesting day.
First on the list, laundry. Travis had offered to hire someone to clean the house including laundry, but you thought that was silly, especially since you worked from home. Between a professional athlete, and a woman with an enviable wardrobe, you two accumulated a lot of laundry. “I haven’t seen these before.” Travis held up a pair of completely lace panties, a new pair you had picked up last week. You snatched them out of his hand with a quickness. “I’m surprised you even recognize any of my underwear considering how quickly you rip them off me. I have to replace my underwear way more often than the average person!” Travis threw himself on the bed, landing on top of a pile of clean towels. “You wouldn’t have that problem if you stopped wearing underwear completely, like I suggested.”
Next on the list, facetiming your family. Your family adored Travis, and he felt like part of the family, but you usually used this mid-day call when Travis was working to gossip and catch up with your sisters. Travis pulled a chair up to your desk in your office as you turned on your computer. “This is going to be boring for you, you can go watch some game tape or something if you want,” you admitted as Travis pulled out his phone. “I’ve been taking notes on some of y’alls favorite TV shows so I can keep up with your conversation.” He scrolled through his notes app, showing you the names of characters, he had jotted down from ‘Real Housewives’. You gave him a peck on the cheek, beaming with pride that he had been paying attention.
Lunchtime rolled around and you had only gotten a third of a way through your to-do list. Your 6’5”, 280 lb. distraction kept stealing you away for makeout sessions on the couch and the bed, but you weren’t complaining. Travis insisted on taking care of lunch, so you used the time to send some work emails. The smell of potatoes peaked your attention, so you sauntered to the kitchen, Travis plating some steaks and roasted potatoes. “That smells amazing, baby.” You followed Travis into the dining room, sitting down to dig into the delicious meal. “How is the off season going?” Travis swallowed before answering. “Good, the team looks really good already. Everyone’s healthy.” “That’s good.” You shook your head up and down hoping you were convincing. Travis chuckled, sitting back in his chair. “It’s okay, baby.” You gave your fiancé pleading eyes. “I really am trying, babe, there are just so many terms to remember, and I still can’t tell the difference between rushing yards and whatever other yards there are.”
By the time the sun was starting to set you were satisfied that you had gotten as much done as you were going to in the day. You and Travis bundled up from head to toe in snow gear because the dogs needed to get their exercise. A walk around the neighborhood was going to have to suffice because the snow was already a foot high and a trip to the dog park was out of the question. The sound of snow crunching under your feet and heavy breaths as you trekked through the snow were all you could hear. You grabbed Travis’ hand, giving it a squeeze before you pulled him into the snow, him face planting into a pile atop the sidewalk. “Are you okay?” you asked in between giggles. “Can you at least help me up, traitor?” Travis reached out for your hand, and as soon as you grabbed he pulled you into the snow. He hovered above you before he pulled you in for a kiss, gentle and warming to your icy cold lips. “I love snow days”, you said to yourself.

I will FUCKING MURDER streaming services and how they have split up all licenses! Do you know how hard it is to teach adults over 60 how to relearn television?! Or how their favorite show isn't on Netflix anymore, but its on Hulu, and yes, there are ads, but you can't get rid of the ads because Hulu is bundled with Verizon 🤷‍♀️🙃
(This is a rant on behalf of my parents and anyone who feels like they can't keep up with technology.)
Cable/satellite TV used to have everything so that my parents could DVR their favorite shows and live sports events bUT NOT ANYMORE!
Amazon Prime has the rights to NFL and NBA League Pass as an add on BUT NO you cannot watch your local NBA team play a home game because of Live Game Restrictions because they wanna sell tickets more (this is also a problem with the MLB) so what do you do? Can't watch it on cable or satellite because FUCK ALL knows which channel has the rights to show a game so you get a $20 month sub to Bally Sports ON TOP of your cable provider (for college sports i guess??) AND ON TOP of Prime ($15) + NBA League Paas ($15) TO THEN find out the Bally Sports App IS NOT SUPPORTED on Vizio Smart TVs so you buy 2 Roku devices for the two TVs that the household watches sports on and you have to make sure all devices have everything logged in because it's A HASSEL to deal with 2 authentication log in for 60+ year olds and they HATE typing in an email and password with a tiny remote and GOD FORBID if there is wifi issues or if you have to update a password and I just!-ahhhh I HATE WHAT STREAMING HAS BECOME AND TECHNOLOGY ALWAYS FINDS A WAY TO FAIL AND EVERY DAY I COME CLOSER AND CLOSER TO RUNNING AWAY WITH A BOX OF DVDs AND BOOKS AND JUST LIVE DISCONNECTED FROM EVERYTHING
