I feel like it's easier to guess the dynamics in season 2 of Arcane is easier to understand if you know that crows (i.e. Jinx and to a greater extent Zaun) don't vibe with ravens (Swain and thus Noxus in general). Like crows are hyper aggressive to raven in their territories. Ravens might be bigger, but crows attack them in a well organized fashion, rather than a group mobbing, they have split into small groups to handle the ravens. What's interesting is that crows are recorded to start the fights more often than not, but it's probably because ravens predate on crows and their eggs, they know a threat when they see one.

It's pretty on the nose the show went out of it's way to associate Jinx with a bird (crows) that's not only incredibly similar in appearance, intelligence, and cultural notoriety, but also are competitive with the ones (ravens) associated with Swain.

Your wik au is so utterly fascinating to me, because of what it implies about Belos. Because even wik, even his literal right hand man, couldn’t help but betray him. Belos has become a monster that can’t help but hurt EVERY SINGLE person he surrounds himself with. Not a single grimwalker, no matter what he did, has ever stayed loyal. He may have supporters, but that only lasts as long as he actively deceives them about what he’s fighting for, and who he really is. (1)

I appreciate your analysis of this au a lot! Being not defined by someone's origin is part of the driving theme I wanted to put in the au- as well as balancing it out with the fact that you cannot be completely removed from it.

Because people don't exist in a vacuum, both who they come from and how they grew up have an impact on them but neither of those things define them: Wik comes from a fundamentally flawed person and was raised to always be loyal to him, but the simple fact that he is a lot like Philip makes it impossible for Wik to not see him lying as a betrayal, and the fact that he is still his own person also makes Wik too little like him to not care about others.

It's a lot of the concept of the equivalence of "you are defined by your origin but by your actions" and "your origin will always have an impact on you and you can choose to go against it or lean into it"
