Obscure Tolkien Blorbo: Round 4
Narmeleth vs Golfimbul
Narmeleth:
Elf of Lindon & later the Gwaith-i-Mirdain; crafted & entrapped by a minor ring of power (Lord of the Rings Online character)
Narmelleth!!! I mean. She's got it all. Corrupted by the Gift Lord, Ring-forger, Bane of Fornost, Earnur's Worstie, COOL OUTFIT, Redemption Arc we didn't start the fire
she actually managed to destroy the lesser ring of power "Annatar" had used to corrupt her, which is like, SO impressive considering how long she had been under its influence. She also fought Mordirith (the steward of Angmar) and his new champion Mordrambor (a universally loathed NPC that everyone rightfully hates for personal reasons) single-handedly!! I don't mean alone, the player character was there, but I mean she did it single-handed. with one hand. she lost a hand and kept fighting. and WON!!!
Golfimbul:
A king of Orcs whose beheading by Bandobras Took led to the invention of golf.
Look the guy was instrumental to the invention of golf in middle earth, what more could you want

18 with whomsoever would be angstiest
my turn to do crimes <3 (strongly recommended: completion of volume 1):
Wide are the halls where the dead come to wait, and quiet are their steps.
They meet by chance, wandering among the woven-light tapestries that tell of holly and craftsmen and the great citadel of Eregion.
"They are beautiful," he says. "The scenes are so life-like."
"They are," she agrees. "My favorites are in the next hall over. Lindon," she explains at his curious glance. "You can nearly smell the flowers."
"Lindon," he repeats, a faint frown creasing his brow. "I lived there once, I think." She looks at him sharply, startled, but there is no greater recognition there. "Would you show me? I would gladly appreciate such a scene."
"I-" she falters, and searches for her swiftly fleeing peace. "It would be my pleasure." He smiles, a sight she knows better than her own reflection, long though it's been since she last saw it, and she leads him down the long, grey hall, pausing when he does to examine one of the tapestries.
The gardens of Eregion burn. An elf-woman strides through them, tall and terrible, with red robes and a delicate silver mask. He frowns at it, lost in some deep thought, and reaches up to touch it. His fingers pass straight through the light-weave and he steps back abruptly, as if he had forgotten where he was. She says nothing. He turns away, and does not stop again until she gestures to another tapestry, peaceful and vibrant and full of flowers.
“To remember flowers…” he murmurs, staring at the scene as if entranced.
It was only a matter of weeks before she followed him here, but she had wrestled many of her memories back from beyond the sheer veil of death quickly- far more so than most, to hear the keepers of the halls tell it. She had dared to hope, when she first saw him, but perhaps it is too early, still.
“Father,” Narmeleth says, her voice steady only through great will. “Do you remember the wildflowers? We used to walk there with Mother…”
But Laerdan’s spirit only stares at her unknowing. “I am sorry, friend,” he says, “but I remember very little, still. Did I know you?” She bows her head, and tells herself some things need only time, and wishes the hurt didn’t feel so much like grief.
“Once,” she says. “You will have heard this already, I am sure, but memory will come in time. There is no need to force it here.” She bids him a polite but swift farewell, and flees into the distant halls to wait.

Narmeleth doesn’t get enough love. She is basically the female Celebrimbor, and what he might have become had he joined Sauron instead of defying him.
She is also the best villain/antihero in LOTRO.

27 for each of them! c:
EHEHEHE thank youuuuu for the ask 💗
27. How do they say “I love you” non-verbally?
Lanadhiel and Elladan: Elladan bows to Lanadhiel as a way of saying "I love you" long before they ever confess their feelings. Lanadhiel doesn't really understand it, mostly because she's autistic as hell she thinks it's just something the prince does to be polite, but in reality, he's trying to show his deference and that he would do anything for her. Lanadhiel, on the other hand, says it in the way she serves his grandmother, mother, and sister when they are in Lothlorien. Arwen figures this out first, and Celebrian, before her attack, realizes it as well, and makes much mischief of it. After their confession, Elladan still bows to Lanadhiel, but she only understands it when he bows before they part ways at the Ford of the Bruinen, and she takes to bowing to him, too.
Lathuilas and Narmeleth: When they still live in Eregion, Lathuilas says "I love you" without words by always waiting for Narmeleth outside the smithy at the end of the day, while Narmeleth makes some small trinket or piece of jewelry for Lathuilas every day. After Narmeleth's corruption, however, Lathuilas shows her love by wearing those trinkets all the time, even when Narmeleth isn't there. After they meet again, Lathuilas makes a conscious effort to keep doing this, so that Narmeleth can see that she thought about her every day while they were parted and she thinks about her every day still. When Narmeleth finally fully recalls herself after breaking free, she shows her love in turn one final time by protecting Lathuilas. :)
Duventoliel and Tadan: Their time together is so brief and in the midst of so much chaos that they both end up verbalizing their feelings far more than not, so non-verbal expressions of affection are rarer for the two of them. However! Duventoliel shows her love by making sure Tadan is always comfortable as he watches a certain Numenorean prisoner, often also staying with him. Tadan in turn tries to spend as much of his free time with her, and every time he sees her around Tinnudir, he always has a wildflower from the shore of Lake Evendim to give her. After Tadan's death, Duventoliel keeps his ring with her always. When she, too, falls at Helm's Deep, her last wish is to have her body brought back to Evendim so that she can be buried next to him.

Obscure Tolkien Blorbo: Round 3
Bór vs Narmeleth
Bór:
Leader of the Faithful Easterlings, loyal to Maedhros, his three sons died in the Nirnaeth Arnoediad after killing the sons of Ulfang.
He fights during the Nirnaeth Arnoediad, and his group remains faithful to the Union. Even though Tolkien Gateway says he dies, nowhere in the Silmarillion is that mentioned. BUT, we do know that his sons all die, so. His loyalty cost him a lot. I have so many thoughts about him!!! The way I picture how the Nirnaeth goes for the eastern host mostly revolves around him.
