something rather unexplored in lord of the rings is aragorn's human side of the family, those left behind in esteldín. gilraen's younger sister elanna marries halbarad, and together they have three children: amdír, fíriel, and halros. all three would become rangers of the north like their father, serving to protect the free peoples. however, elanna would perish of a dark illness, amdír slain by the nazgûl, and halbarad fallen at aragorn's side in the battle of the pelennor fields.

#lotro #i am having so much fun rn #context: i stopped running all the moria world instances on leonys prime #because i did the math and you get more bang for your buck from crafting instances #so instead ive been running crafting instances on all my high leveled chars #actually thats not even true i started with drof who is 62 #and even she can take them apart in less than 10 minutes each #someone who knows what theyre doing with a guardian could probably do better #anyhow i have like five or six characters her level or higher #and one of them is indarant #who got valared because #*checks notes* #i didnt want the valar taking up storage space #but ooh hoo hoo #unrelated but her current appearance was just meant to be a placeholder but im kind of liking it #i might keep it mostly as is tbh

Her (chosen) name is Ûrizâir or 'sun longing' in Adunaic, a somewhat mean nickname playing on the term 'sea longing' that she picked up from her compatriots after she left Edhellond with Aldarion on the Númerrámar and came to be the longest running member of the Guild of Venturers and their master shipwright. She now lives in Umbar as a kind of honorary Corsair. How did she come to make her home amongst the heretics of old Numenor, many of whom with a passionate revulsion for the Quendi? 'I can't stand elves either' she will state, bluntly, 'nor their sycophants.'
