Crossing over a period of painful love-play,
Let’s reject the traditional garden of conventions.
Let’s change the sex of Eve.
Let’s make Adam pregnant.
Let’s speculate beyond animal anxieties.
Hell’s quagmire.
The Moon acts like a pimp
In the history of human bonds.
The bull of sexual passion masticates
On a disembodied heath.
We sail in a sinking ship
And turn into savages.
Even just plain cloves burn our tongue;
And we are afraid of light.
This is how liberation itself punishes a human being.
A human being shouldn’t become so spotless.
One should leave a few stains on one’s shirt.
One should carry on oneself a little bit of sin.
Namdeo Dhasal, "Speculations On A Shirt"

« Peuple, conscience, fusil, MIR ! MIR ! MIR !
I have seen him I have rejected him often My corpse that wanders From town to town Wait in this evening’s glow and stand still A drunk is dialing God’s number Don’t show me such pity That degrades May be our relationship is all spent Shrug your shoulders and get rid of it So that you could Axe this water a couple of times.

Namdeo Dhasal - Two Poems
Namdeo Dhasal – Two Poems
Their Eternal Pity Their eternal pity — no taller than a pimp on Falkland Road. No pavilion put up in the sky for us. Lords of wealth. They are locking up light in those vaults of theirs \ In this life, carried by a whore, not even the sidewalks are ours Made so beggarly it is nausea to be human, Cannot fill our gut even with shrivelled dirt. Each new just day supports them as if bribed— not a…

cas @archivistsasha tagged me in quoting five lines from lit/media that live rent free in my brain 🥰🥰 thanks so much this was so fun💖💖
1.  “The chances of finding out what’s really going on in the universe are so remote, the only thing to do is hang the sense of it and keep yourself occupied.” - “Hitchhiker’s Guide to The Galaxy”, Douglas Adams
2. Even I / offered a firewood / to the world’s fire
Even I / provided a tear / to the world’s rain
Even I / gave a cry / to the world’s roar
--”Jayabheri”, Sri Sri trans. from Telugu (roughly?)
3.They say one mustn’t step into one’s father’s life / I do; I scratch his elbows, his armpits -- “Stonemasons, My Father and Me”, Namdeo Dhasal trans. from Marathi (again, roughly) (lmao, im afraid to even quote this because the poem’s context of caste is VITAL for reading and i hope no one goes putting this wily nily in their web weaves, but :( this is the only part i can quote from memory)
4. won’t you come with me and celebrate what i have shaped into a kind of life? i had no model. -- “won’t you come with me and celebrate?”, Lucille Clifton (unfortunately the only snippet i can recall from memory, but here again, entire poem is essential for its understanding. but this quote is what i can remember quote by-heart)
5. When did your name change from a proper noun to a charm? / It’s three vowels like jewels on the thread of my breath / It’s consonants brushing my mouth like a kiss — “Name”, Carol Ann Duffy
tagging: literally anybody on my dash who sees this!! like I know everyone says it, but really seriously if you see this and want to do it go for it! consider yourself tagged💕

SIT demand for Elgar widens MVA differences | India News – Times of India
[ad_1]
MUMBAI: Differences within the ruling Maha Vikas Aghadi in Maharashtra widened on Tuesday as Sharad Pawar once again pushed for an SIT to probe “misuse of police force” in the Elgar Parishad case while CM Uddhav Thackeray maintained silence on the NCP chief’s demand but indicated that he was sticking to his grant of consent to the NIA to take over the probe. Going against the NCP and Cong…

#DalitPanthers
“...Crossing Over a period of painful Love play, Let’s Reject the traditional garden of Conventions...”
— Late. Namdeo Dhasal One of the founding father of Dalit Panther 🐆 Movement.
———
9th July 1972, Marks the foundational day of Dalit Panthers 🐆 Movement modeled after Black Panther Party of United States of America. This movement was Founded under the leadership of Legendary poet Late. Hon. #NamdeoDhasal Mr. Raja Dhale (आय़ू . राजा ढाले) Mr. #JVPawar, #ArunKamble and others. Later on Many People Joined this movement.
The Dalit Panthers 🐆 movement was the most dominant Voice of Ambedkarite Revolution of social Justice in modern history, This movement arose and transformed poor hardworking Laborers into warriors against Evil Caste System, in other words it was a worst nightmare for Brahmin/Hindu/Casteist forces. Panthers counter attacked and literally demolished the entire dominance of Hindu/Brahmin/casteist forces brutally in socio-political context, later on this movement was somehow systematically destructed by the cunning Brahmin/Hindu/casteist forces by creating internal disunity, distrust and hence division.
A Lot of Good things are there to learn from this movement and there are Drawbacks too. Today there are many movements running in the name of Mahatma Jotiba Phule- Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Inspired by the manifesto of this movement. Apart from all the brahminical/Hindu criticism, no doubt that this movement of counter revolution cannot be forgotten and erased from the memories of the marginalised people groups of India. Let the Hatred be destroyed by Love.
#BlueSalute to the brave anti-caste revolutionary Panthers 🐆. Arise!! Dismantle the notion of CASTE. Long Live the Caravan!
Jai Jotiba, Jai Bheem, Jai Periyar.

An Interview With Namdeo Dhasal - Part 2 - Finding Myself
An Interview With Namdeo Dhasal – Part 2 – Finding Myself
Finding Myself To talk about myself (Namdeo Dhasal), I arrived at my path because od an incident concerning a girl in my real life. It was my experience of a love relationship frustrated by communalism and casteism. At that time, I was a leading activist of the Praja Samajwadi Party. To my disenchantment, I discovered then that even the so-called liberated and progressive people in established…
