Lyra let her body fall heavily onto the mattress, a groan escaping her throat as her arms sprawled out among the sheets. It was Friday night, and for the past month, these seemed to be the toughest days of her eternal week. Her shift always ended up lasting longer because of some indecisive customer or a coworker who messed up their task, or simply someone determined to make her life miserable. She twisted her torso to one side, attempting to crack the bones in her back, and buried her head back into the pillows. She didn't even care about the growling in her stomach; at that moment, nothing sounded better than sleeping until noon the next day.
Just as she began to question why Yangyang was taking so long, she heard a soft, familiar purring. When she opened her eyes, Leon was looking at her with his large, attentive green eyes, his ears twitching slightly every few seconds. Lyra smiled softly, and the animal, as if it perfectly understood what that meant, let out a meow and rolled onto his side. The dark-haired girl unearthed one of her arms from under the pillow and used it to stroke his fur, making sure to scratch under his chin and behind his ear. The cat rubbed against the space on her neck with great pleasure, his purring increasing in volume and his eyes half-closed.
"Oh, so you're cheating on me?" Yangyang appeared at the door of the room, leaning against the frame with a smile that betrayed the supposed indignation in his tone.
Lyra chuckled as she watched Yangyang enter the room.
"You didn't even wait for me to come up," he said as he took a seat on the edge of the mattress to remove his shoes, and Lyra could hear the pout in his voice.
"You were taking too long, and I'm so tired," she complained, hugging the cat closer to her body.
"You're lying. You just wanted to come up to be with... that guy."
He took off his jacket and left it on the back of the desk chair, feeling his girlfriend's laughter behind him and causing his own to escape his lips. He automatically moved to the left side of the bed, where Lyra's feet dangled with her shoes still on, and took them off for her.
"I can't believe you're jealous of our son," Lyra teased, a warm feeling climbing up her chest at her boyfriend's gesture. Yangyang lightly tugged at the elastic of one of her socks.
"When you ran up the stairs just to cuddle with him? Pft, it's clear who has your heart right now," Yangyang returned to his place on the edge of the bed, teasing the tail of his pet just to hear him let out an annoyed meow. "What? Do you forget who your real owner is here?"
"Stop bothering him," the girl scolded him, and the -for now- gray-haired boy shook his head in disbelief. Leon stared him directly in the eyes, and when Yangyang raised an eyebrow in his direction, the cat rubbed the top of his head against Lyra's neck.
This arrogant son of a bitch...
He couldn't believe it, his own son, whom he raised with so much effort and sacrifice, trying to steal his girlfriend right in front of his eyes. Now he was a little jealous. He was sure that if Leon could talk and act like a human, he would be saying, "I win, you lose," with a self-satisfied smile while hogging all of the dark-haired girl's love.
Louis, you're my favorite from now on.
"Yang...," When she heard his name softly spoken, he averted his gaze from his mischievous cat. And, God, he would never be ready to face the tenderness of Lyra's sleepy features, with slightly glassy eyes and a silly half-smile. It was probably his favorite version of her. "Come here, come on, stop looking at me like a wet puppy from over there."
Yangyang rolled his eyes but still obeyed the request. He dropped down on the right side of the mattress as if it were routine, because it is, and they always sleep in the same way. The movement made Leon complain between their bodies, and Lyra rewarded him by stroking him between the ears. It took everything in him not to let out a loud huff as the animal practically reveled in it while looking at him from the side.
Who came up with the idea of adopting this guy?
Oh, right. He and Ten.
"Alright, time's up, buddy," and with that, he lifted the animal in his arms and sat down, leaving it at the foot of the mattress. Lyra burst into laughter, and Leon meowed indignantly.
"You're so mean," as the girl scolded him again, Yangyang returned to his position on the bed, but this time in the spot previously occupied by his cat, in the space beneath Lyra's neck.
"Mmmh," he passed an arm over her waist, pulling her closer until their bodies were as close as possible. Inhumanly close, just the way he liked it. Very close.
Lyra grumbled, rolling her eyes with an enamored smile dancing on her lips. She buried her hand in Yangyang's hair, incredibly soft to the touch even after countless bleaches, and received a sigh against her collarbones in response. Her other hand found its place on his hip bone, right where his shirt had ridden up a bit, revealing a glimpse of his skin. She gently caressed it with her thumb, and Yangyang nuzzled under her chin in the same way Leon or Louis would.
"You're just like a cat," Lyra commented, stroking the strands of his head. "My jealous boyfriend with cat tendencies."
"Leave me alone."
"Oh? But just a moment ago, you were desperate for all my attention," she tried to tilt her head to look at him, but it only made him hide more in her neck, as if that were possible. Lyra slipped her fingers through his hair and playfully tugged. Yangyang groaned. "What? Why so shy all of a sudden, baby, hmm...?"
The nickname made Yangyang's heart race in his chest. God, he was truly done for if he couldn't get used to his girlfriend calling him... like that. Or any nickname, because just hearing his name from those lips made him weak in the knees like the anime girls Hendery liked so much. It seemed he was done for either way.
"Are you embarrassed for feeling jealous of an animal, huh?" the girl pinched his side, letting out a laugh when he squirmed. Yangyang pinched her butt. "You have nothing to worry about, Yangie, you're the only one for me."
Yangyang sighed, feeling the warmth in his cheeks as if he were a love-struck schoolgirl. This is going to be my downfall, he thought, before planting a quick kiss in the hollow between her collarbones and pulling back just enough to be able to look at her. Lyra already had her eyes fixed on him, with a smug smile and one eyebrow raised in a way that reminded him too much of someone, although he couldn't exactly pinpoint who (Jaemin, the answer would hit Yangyang the next day, God, exactly like Jaemin).
"Wipe that smile off your face."
"Why don't you do it?"
Totally my downfall. This girl is going to be the death of me.
He pushed himself up slightly, leveling his gaze with hers and close enough to feel their breaths collide and the tip of her damn adorable nose brush against his. Lyra's eyes gained a new kind of sparkle, and he felt her fingers dig into his side. Yangyang moved his hand from where it was resting on her waist and took hold of her neck, pulling her up and capturing the sound of surprise that escaped her with his lips. Lyra, in the most literal sense, melted against his mouth, fitting perfectly and letting his boyfriend lead the kiss. Yangyang always kissed her as if they had all the time in the world, even when they were rushed and barely had a few minutes to see each other amidst their busy schedules, he kissed her as if time stood still in that very moment. As if the rest could wait, but she couldn't. And Lyra would be lying if she said that didn't make her fall a little more in love each day. The boy's fingers slid through the hair at the nape of her neck, demanding more closeness, and she didn't even try to hide the moan and the way she sought to entwine her legs with his. Yangyang rose until he could lean on his elbow and hover over her, momentarily breaking the kiss, barely allowing her to catch her breath before capturing their lips once again. With the new position, Lyra wrapped both arms around his neck, letting one hand slide down a bit to press her fingers just above his shoulder blade. Yangyang let out a muffled sound as he wrapped an arm around her lower back and pressed their bodies together. The intensity of the kiss seemed to increase as they touched, the friction added by their clothes generating a heat in the air that both knew very well where it would lead them, and the sound of the TV and Dejun's laughter in the living room reminded Lyra of how they couldn't do this right now.
"Y-Yang..." she tried to say as she abruptly broke the kiss, but Yangyang seemed to understand it as a signal to move his lips to her neck. Lyra swallowed when she felt the graze of his teeth, clinging to the only part of her brain that was functioning properly at this moment. "Do I have to remind you of what happened the last time we... ah, did something with others in the apartment?"
"Mmm, we just have to be quiet," he simply replied, his mischievous hands sneaking under her shirt and caressing the skin of her stomach. Lyra sank into the mattress at the same time as she let out a soft moan.
"W-we can't, Yangy-ah..." having a conversation was off the table, that was for sure, because forming a coherent thought with Yangyang biting her neck wasn't an easy task at all. "I'm serious, we have to stop, come on. I can't- Oh my God, always being the voice of reason here."
Yangyang pulled away from where he had been buried in her neck, his eyes glassy, his hair disheveled, and looking at her in that way. The same way he looks at her when they're in the middle of something, as if he wants to devour her whole, and boy if Lyra can understand the feeling.
"They won't hear anything, believe me, they're probably watching Lucas' favorite show, and you know how loud he gets when he’s excited about something," she knew Yangyang was trying to persuade her, and let her add that the hand caressing her rib and dangerously close to the start of her boob was quite convincing. "Stop trying to escape from me."
"Excuse me for not wanting them to hear us having sex, again!" she exclaimed, lifting one of her legs to hit his back with her heel, and Yangyang, the damn bastard, took advantage of the situation to grab her other leg and make her intertwine both around his slim waist. "Yangyang!"
"What?" he asked, feigning innocence as if his smile didn't give him away completely. All perfect teeth and the worst kind of mischievous gleam in his eyes. Lyra wanted to eat him whole.
"And it's not just about them hearing us! Or have you forgotten the time when Kun almost opened the door while I was, literally, giving you a blowjob?" she continued complaining, trying to push him away without really doing it. She was so weak against him, seriously, but she couldn't keep letting him get away with it. "And when Sicheng almost caught us doing it on your desk? And, I swear to God, if I have to endure Ten's 'I saw you naked and I won't let you live it down' expression, I'm going to pull out all my hair with my own hands."
"Mmm, get angrier, babe, you know how it turns me on," he tried to kiss her again but Lyra, quite literally, put a hand in his face. Yangyang tried to bite her finger, and she indignantly pulled it away.
"I'm being serious!"
He raised an eyebrow. "Well, then reject me."
"What?"
Yangyang crashed his lips against hers, not even giving her time to react when his tongue was already seeking permission to intrude into her mouth. Lyra gasped, searching for her last shred of sanity to pull away when her boyfriend pressed his growing erection against her. Well, so much for trying to be the voice of reason, she thought as she tightened her legs around his waist to bring him impossibly closer. Yangyang groaned deeply, and the depth of the sound sent shivers down her spine as she let out a trembling sigh against his lips. She felt him smile, and she didn't need to look at him to know what kind of smile it was. Diabolical. Lyra pulled on the hair at the back of his neck in retaliation.
"Hey, guys, one of the cats is trying to get out. I can't believe you didn't notice, seriously... Oh my God, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I didn't know you were...!"
They abruptly separated from each other, the most obscene and even pornographic sound caused by their lips at the end of the kiss resonating throughout the room. Hendery was standing in the doorway, with one hand on the doorknob and his body turned toward the hallway, staring fixedly at one of the walls.
"Why don't you knock before coming in!?" Yangyang's voice sounded like a teenager just going through puberty as he moved to grab one of the pillows and cover his lap, his cheeks flushed.
"Why don't you lock the door!?" Hendery replied, turning to look at him but returning his gaze outside when he met Lyra's eyes behind his friend. "And I did! Leon was scratching the wood to get out, but you two were too busy with your… stuff to notice."
It had to be, Yangyang thought, that damn cat.
"Why the hell are you guys shouting so loudly?"
Oh no. Lyra covered her face with both hands, inwardly lamenting what was coming for them. Out of all the people living in that damn apartment, did it really have to be...?
A wicked smile spread across Ten's face as he peered over Hendery's shoulder. Yangyang closed his eyes tightly.
"So, you two again? Really?" he said with a tone that was a mix of mocking and disappointed. "I see, so someone has a weird exhibitionism kink..."
And as Lyra sighed, accepting her fate, Yangyang knew what his would be.
I'm screwed.

Dear Peppertaemint,
I'm at home, bored to death on this lovely afternoon that feels like a Sunday - although it isn't - and I had this question that popped in my head. It's a bit silly, but we need that in our lives as well.
I was wondering if you would engage in a creative exercise because I'm curious of what do you think about famous idol pets and how they would get along with each other or not. Is there one who would assume the leader position? Who would get friendly with whom? Or perhaps some romantic sparks? Who do you think would be enemies from the start?
Yours sincerely,
Lady A. Assante
Hello Lady A. Assante,
I wonder what lifestyle allows you to feel like a Tuesday is a Sunday; I’m rather jealous.
Idol pets is a fun subject, so I accept your creative exercise. But, we should keep in mind an idol pet who has been slighted as of late. If this pet could talk, he’d be speaking to Variety and the Hollywood Reporter, or even TMZ. We must think of Yeontan, pet of BTS Taehyung, who couldn’t travel for the recent MV shooting and was thus recast with a lookalike. I can only imagine his agent is angry and demanding some sort of recompense.
Taehyung’s Yeontan. This beautiful darling deserves justice.

If Tannie would stray from Taennie, I think he would be at home with SHINee Key’s Commes Des. Commes Des gets in some trouble, and that might be enough to distract Tannie from his current woes.
Key’s Commes Des watching a video of his daddy.
Tumblr media
Key’s Garçons is a bitch. We all know that. And we love it; like father, like son. I think he might need to be a lone wolf. I mean, BTOB Chansub’s beagle didn’t fair that well with Commes Des or Garçons.
Is he ready to pounce or is he simply judging his daddy? Key’s Garçons.
Tumblr media
Taeyeon’s doggie Zero is an eligible bachelor. He’s a wealthy entrepreneur dog with his SPAO collaboration. I could see Tannie having some dates with Zero. Maybe it could be a love match.
Taeyeon's poodle, Zero.
Tumblr media
Now, let’s have a side of gossip with our pet life. Ten has two cats, Louis and Leon. He is there owner, but a certain someone takes care of them when Ten’s not around. That would be Yangyang. Have you encountered Ten and Yangyang recently? The vibes are off the charts.
TenYang. Levi, Louis and Leon.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
One might think that Taemin's Kkoongie and Ddaengie could be their own love match, but they’re brother and sister; let’s not be weird. Could Louis or Leon win Kkoongie’s love? She’s been raised a spoiled princess and has the highest of standards. Perhaps Louis with his debonaire good looks could win Kkoongie’s heart.
Princess Kkoongie in her tower. Louis looking charming.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ddaengie might have to settle for more kisses from his daddy.
He taught his cats to kiss him. Oh lord.

@prominence Hendery: mind giving us some more of your fanficiton?
"Say less! Let me tell you about when they first met."
(Ten, in the back: "why would you give him this power?)

(Y/N) parked her mech in the normal inconspicuous spot within the SM Building, opting to walk all the way to Inkigayo ("Was it Inkigayo? I don't remember"). She was starved after being put on one of SM's hell diets and she had a tendency to not care about what the company told her to do anyway, something we all envied her for, but right now she had a stage to do with the devilishly charming NCT ANiMA, all members except for Jihyun. (Ten: "Jiaying would kill you if she heard you say that." Hendery: "Shh, don't tell her shit.") When, suddenly, an opponent appears.
(Y/N), with cookies she had painstakingly and lovingly put together, ran into who could only be described as the main antagonist, yes, her soon to be beloved Park Seonghwa, who's intentions for her were unknown even to himself, only knowing that there was a beautiful mech pilot who had encaptured his soul. He knew it was meant to be as soon as he heard rumors of her abilities and exploits piloting mechs and, he doesn't mean to gloat, he's not too bad a mech pilot himself when he's allowed in the main console. It was him who was envious though, while (Y/N) had her own, he had to share amongst seven others.
It had to have been love at first sight, somehow, he'd gotten mech fuel dumped all over him, a fortunate accident you caused, and it was then his eyes had hearts in them. He was in love, and he fell hard, literally, not knowing that our dear (Y/N) had unknowingly fallen for him too, walking with a pep in her step and with a singsong voice, it was so painfully clear to everyone that she was in love, but with whom?
Who was the dastardly villain who stole her heart? Our main lead, Yangyang (Kun: "Oh my god. This again?" Hendery: "SHH I'M NARRATING"), took the task to find out who it was, not knowing his grave mistake until it was too late. This mech engineer had fallen in a trap set by (Y/N), a trap she put together after being heartbroken too many times before (Dejun: "I thought she only had the one boyfriend?" Kun: "I think Yangyang said she's had two, actually.")
Yangyang, somehow, had fallen for his client too. And he fell harder and deeper than Seonghwa could have ever dreamed of.

fly away with me | yangyang

once yangyang's parents found out about his reckless underground rapper lifestyle, he needs an escape and you're his only safe haven.
genre: angst, fluff, smut
content: fem!reader, rapper!yangyang, alcohol, profanity, mentions of prison, quick motel sex it's barely anything

You were completely out of breath from running for the past ten minutes, but you persevered despite your ankles burning with each step you took. You finally caught sight of the police station, almost stumbling on the stairs before bursting through the doors to the station. The place was quite empty, so your entrance did startle a few officers seated at their desks.
"How can I help you?" A friendly officer walked up to you, placing her paper cup in the trash can on the way.
"Oh, I'm looking for Yangyang, Liu Yangyang." You gulped, trying to catch your breath.
"Liu Yangyang? Over here!" Another officer called from some distance away and you jogged over to his desk.
"Are you Y/n?" The officer asked, peering up at you with a frown at your disheveled appearance.
"Yes that's me," you breathed in and out deeply, "Yangyang called me to get him."
The officer groaned under his breath before pushing his chair back and standing up. He gestured for you to follow him and you obliged, tailing behind him as he walked towards the holding cells. There you let out a sigh of relief when you saw Yangyang's frame seated in the corner. His eyes lit up when he saw you, his lips curling into a charming smile.
"Thanks for coming to get me." Yangyang threw an arm over your shoulder, pressing a quick kiss to your temple.
"You're lucky your boyfriend here wasn't really involved in the case," the officer spoke, giving a disapproving look towards Yangyang, "helping run an illegal underground club would've caused you big trouble mister."
"Yeah well I'm not about that life," Yangyang giggled as you rolled your eyes, unable to hide your smile, "they were having an open mic so I just wanted to rap, man."
"You still have a hefty fine to pay." The officer reminded him, holding up the paperwork to accentuate his point.
"Yangyang!" A woman's voice startled both you and Yangyang.
You turn your heads to see an older woman storming towards the desk, an older man trailing behind her. They both looked furious and your stomach churned as you realized they were Yangyang's parents. In the two years you had been dating Yangyang, you had never even breathed near his parents. See, you were one of the factors of Yangyang's alternate life that he preferred to keep a secret from his strict and wealthy parents.
His parents wanted their son to pass his business course in college, take over the family business and marry a girl hand picked by them who met their ridiculous standards. Yangyang, on the other hand, was already living out a life that would make them weep. He was kick starting his rap career and he often went to perform at underground clubs where he was quite well known for his songs on Soundcloud.
Most notably, he fell in love with you, someone whom he met at a local heavy metal band's concert. You were everything from his drinking buddy to his personal hypeman and that would not have been the kind of information his parents would've liked to heard. You were definitely not the prim and proper partner they felt their son needed.
"What is the meaning of this!?" Mrs Liu yelled as she brushed past you, completely ignoring your presence.
"Mom, I-"
"We do so much to make life easy for you!" Mr Liu shouted, cutting Yangyang off, "and now we have to hear from a cop that you're rapping at some illegal club!?"
"Da-"
"You're in big trouble, Liu Yangyang," his father cut him off once again, you swear you could almost see steam coming out from Mr Liu's ears, "since you can't just appreciate all we've done for you and choose to defy us!"
"And who is this?..." Mrs Liu's stern eyes finally fell onto you and you felt yourself quiver under her stare.
"My friend…" Yangyang muttered, his eyes glaring at the ground, "please leave them out of this, I called them to help me."
"Alright then…" Mrs Liu spoke bitterly as she eyed you up and down before turning her attention back to Yangyang, "well we'll be leaving then."
You watched as Mr Liu paid the fine to the officer before harshly grabbing onto Yangyang's wrist and practically dragging him out of the police station, Mrs Liu storming away right behind them.
+++++
"That was not how I expected to meet your parents for the first time." You sighed as you threw yourself on your bed, putting your phone on speaker as you let it rest next to your head.
"I didn't even know that cop called them," Yangyang groaned softly from the other end, "I'm sure if they met you under better circumstances they would've realized you're the good influence on me."
"Yeah, who's gonna tell your parents that their son is the scoundrel in this relationship." You giggled and Yangyang let out a light laugh in response.
"I think they already know what a scoundrel their son is," Yangyang laughed softly but all too quickly a shaky sigh escaped his lips, "they're really fucking mad at me."
"That I would assume." You bit down on your lip as you rolled to your side.
"I don't know what I'm gonna do, they're probably gonna make me stop rapping," your heart sunk when you could hear the disappointment in Yangyang' s voice, "I think they're also serious about getting me to court that girl that works for my dad."
"Listen," you sighed deeply, "there's not much you can do about it besides talking to your parents, let them know how you really feel."
"Or I could run away." Yangyang joked and you could just imagine the grin on his face as you rolled your eyes.
"Running away from your problems never works out," you laughed softly, "and I would miss you too much."
"I would take you with me of course," he scoffed, "but seriously, I think I need to get away for a bit, even just for the night."
"Your parents were so close to killing you just an hour ago and now you're already planning to sneak out?" You raised an eyebrow, despite Yangyang not being able to see your concern.
"They're already pissed at me to the maximum so that's all the more reason to just do whatever I want," Yangyang giggled and you shook your head, unable to stop the smile of disbelief on your face, "I'll be at your apartment in like ten minutes."
"Wait wha-"
Yangyang cut the call before you could make any further protests and you were left there, lying on your bed completely baffled. Ten minutes passed and, with perfect timing, somebody rang your doorbell. You trudged to the front door and swung it open to see Yangyang standing there, dressed in black basketball shorts, a white t-shirt and a wide grin on his face.
"I can't believe you were being serious." You shook your head in disbelief.
"Well are you coming or not?" He jiggled his car keys in front of your face.
You let out a dramatic sigh before grabbing your jacket, phone and wallet from inside the apartment and closing the front door behind you. Yangyang excitedly grabbed your hand and ran towards the elevator. The car drive around the city was indeed therapeutic. You both went from shouting out the lyrics to Midsummer Madness to laughing at whatever funny stories you both had to tell. You both felt so free and the dilemma of Yangyang's parents seemed to completely slip your minds.
After stopping at the convenience store to get some snacks and drinks, your final destination for the night was a motel that was a good hour away from your own town. You took a seat on the queen sized bed, sipping your can of beer as you bopped your head to the soft music coming from Yangyang's phone. He comically danced towards you before grabbing your drink and placing it on the table behind him. He wrapped his arms around your neck before putting himself in your lap.
"You're heavy, get off!" You whined with laughter in your voice as you shoved him to the side, making him flop onto his back on the other side of the bed.
Yangyang giggled as you turned to crawl towards him, hovering over him and letting your legs straddle his waist. You leaned over to kiss him, running your cold hands under his shirt until you rested them on his chest. Yangyang's hands gripped onto your thighs before rubbing upwards to hold onto your waist. You moaned into the heated kiss before Yangyang flipped you both over, grinning mischievously down at you as he let his fingers roam all over your body.
Soon enough all your clothes were discarded, Yangyang leaving sloppy kisses all over your neck with your fingers threading through his soft hair and his hips rocking towards you erratically. He pressed his sweaty forehead against yours, his eyes shut closed and whispering almost inaudible words of affirmation in your ear. Once you both reached your climax, you collapsed onto your backs, your breaths loud and irregular.
After about a few minutes of comfortable silence, you felt Yangyang shift his weight on the bed next to you. He planted a sweet kiss on your forehead before getting off the bed. You watched him pull his shorts back on before walking towards the balcony, stepping outside and leaving the glass sliding door open as if it were an open invitation for you to join him.
But you decided to give him some time alone. The whole situation with his parents undoubtedly was taking a toll on him, no matter how lighthearted or reckless he seemed. Everything he wanted in his life - freedom, his rap career, you - was at stake and it clearly worried him. After some time passed of Yangyang just leaning his arms on the balcony wall and staring off into the city below him, you decided to throw on your oversized t-shirt and join him outside.
You snaked your arms around his waist and he threw his arm over your shoulders, pulling you into his side. He turned his head to the side to plant a kiss on your lips before facing the city again, letting out a deep and exaggerated groan.
"What the fuck am I going to do?" He grimaced and you nuzzled your head into the crook of his neck.
"As I said before, the only thing you can do is just talk to your parents about it," you replied softly, "I know it's gonna be difficult, but you can't just run away from it."
"And what if you they still don't understand or refuse to listen to me?" He whined, looking at you with his bright but sad eyes.
"Then you can just come move in with me." You grinned cheekily at him and he couldn't resist giggling.
"You know I love you right?" He tilted his head adorably.
"I know, and I love you too." You smiled as he hugged you closer.
You both didn't know what to expect for the next day to come. You didn't know whether Yangyang's parents would understand their son's concerns or simply shut him down. You didn't know whether his parents would go berserk once they found out Yangyang had snuck out with you, and frankly you didn't care. As you two were in each other's arms, nothing else seemed to matter. You would always be there to take each other away from the pain in your lives.

NCT Love Life - October Edition
Part Two
Kun
Tumblr media
Kun is still dating the same person as on my last reading ( non idol ). However they have been apart for quite some time now, due to his work. There's a lot of stress, emotional distress and loneliness in him, as he isn't able to find balance between his idol life and his romantic life. His feelings are very honest, and he cares for this person whom has a fragile health.
Ten
Tumblr media
So Ten is still in the process of forgetting his ex, however despite being very party and seeing other people, and having other night stands he doesn't seem to get his mind away from this person. However he is sure of himself, he has no intention to get back to them, it's just lingering feelings. His heart is fully closed at the moment.
Winwin
Tumblr media
He has decided to stay in a relationship with the person of my last reading ( non idol ). At the moment there's some arguments and lack of communication on his couple, but he doesn't seem to care much. His mind is pretty much focused on the new opportunities that are coming to him, putting his love life in a secondary plane.
Lucas
Tumblr media
I honestly don't know what I exactly should write for him, after seeing the energies and what's going on between the scenes. But let's say that with this person whom he was afraid things came out to light (which many rumors came out, some true other fake), is still in his life. There has been money and contracts going around, and he feels pretty much stuck at the moment, his heart is nowhere from loving at the moment.
Xiaojun
Tumblr media
Okay so he is still thinking about his ex as well, that one person he had to move on from due to the company who weren't okay with his relationship. He isn't in a very good condition emotionally, and a lot of things such as his childhood is coming to the surface
Hendery
Tumblr media
FINALLY someone caught his interest, but it's with no surprise that Henry isn't taking action with his love life, as he is scared of the repercussions it could have on his idol life. He is still very unsure about them as well, and about himself. A lot of self doubt. Despite that, this person seems to have a strong connection with him
Yangyang
Tumblr media
He is removing himself from the love plane after this bad experience he had with an older person. Things were so toxic and weird that he doesn't want to open his heart to opportunities at the moment. Yangyang is actually focusing about helping others with their love life instead yang

Carnations have thorn too was a fic that i read multiple times and still felt the same sadness. I feel so bad for Yangyang, now he is alone. I wanted to see his reaction. But Renjun though. He was a total asshole and he didn't deserve someone pure like our girl at all. But did he have feelings for her? Like i know he didn't love her cuz if he did she wouldn't be sick. But did he atleast like her?? Was he interested in continuing a romantic relationship with her after Ningning's surgery? Was he just with her for a time pass or something?? I need answers!!!!!
HII ANON THANK YOU FOR READING MY FIC IM GLAD YOU LIKED IT OML okay so like i was about to write a sequel answering all of these questions but then I'd like to leave u all to ur own imagination if u didn't like the sequel so I stopped writing it.
Spoilers under the cut! So uh tw// character death, insomnia, etc
But to answer ur question, in the sequel, yangyang was supposed to be the one who gave the eulogy at y/ns funeral and mfker instantly unfriended renjun😍. Here's some out of context sentences yangyang has said to renjun and his family during the funeral from my plan docs
[  ] "Take my sisters name out of your fucking mouth, you don't deserve to mourn"
[  ] "You have to understand that it wasn't his fault. He didn't know, he couldn't possibly"
[  ] "Her phone call records proved that renjun was the second last person she called. Whatever she had said in that phonecall mustve been some kind of cry for help and he blew her off"
"renjun cares about her"
"not enough apparently"
"no, yangyang, Renjun really did love your sis-"
"My sister is gone because of him."
Tw// insomnia
And as for renjun, in the sequel i was planning to add the fact that after the news of yns passing he couldn't look at ningning in the eyes anymore. Not after he realised that she was using y/n's (his childhood best friends sister whom he had known for most of his life) heart to live. He would take sleeping pills to help with his insomnia as he would stay up late wondering what would've happened if he just had five more seconds to hear her out. Those pills would later haunt him with dreams of what could've happened if he stopped looking after ningning to spare a glance at his own "girlfriend"
How he would spend time giving her roses (similar to how she gave him roses when they were still kids), he would sneak her out to the hospitals garden despite doctors orders, how they would finally go to the planetarium once she's discharged.
All of that made renjun realised rhat he really did love y/n. At first he was with her to see if feelings would blossom because he felt bad for leaving her waiting for him for so long. And the feelings did blossom, but they blossom after y/ns wilted.

Tumblr media
When you had first started off in university, one of your biggest worries was not being able to make new friends and fit in with them. Granted, you chose to stay home and go to one of your local schools meaning that some of your high school friends would still be with you but you also wanted to meet new people so you’re not stuck with the same idiots for the rest of your life.
Such idiots being Na Jaemin and Lee Jeno who had stuck with you all through high school. Both of them had told you that they too would be staying at home and would be going to school with you, which you were secretly extremely thankful for, though you knew they too were probably itching to make new friends.
Luckily, you three were all majoring in the STEM field so many of your classes coincided with each other. You stuck with Jaemin as biology majors on the pre-med track while Jeno majored in engineering. Somehow, Jeno, one of the most quiet and intimidating people at first glance, had managed to connect with the other freshmen, introducing you to Yangyang and Renjun, both of whom he met in his calculus class.
Yangyang was majoring in bioengineering, a quite daunting major to say the least, while Renjun was going into computer science. Much to your surprise, Yangyang was actually local. It's just that he had gone to one of your rival high schools which was why you hadn’t yet met him unlike Renjun who actually flew in from a different city.
Like this, your little friend group was complete for your first year of college. With all of you being in the STEM fields, group study sessions were a must, especially for Renjun who felt the need to be over prepared for every quiz or exam though he claimed that the rest of you were just ‘underprepared’.
“So who can tell me what the values of N(0) and N(9) are?” Renjun asked, standing in front of the whiteboard in the study room you all booked to prepare for your calculus exam the next day.
Everyone was silent as they analyzed the problem. “Oh, N(0) is 41 and N(9) is 325, right?” Yangyang answered.
“Correct, they’re simply the values given to us in the problem,” Renjun explained as he wrote the numbers on the board, “and so from here, what do we do if we want to find the unknown relative growth rate?”
“Is that the equation with all the letters and stuff?” Jaemin chimed in. “You know, the one with all the P and the t and the-”
“The exponential growth equation.” Jeno interrupted, playfully rolling his eyes at Jaemin who proceeded to throw his eraser at the former.
“Hey, we’re here to study, not for us to babysit you two,” Renjun scolded, “anyway, which values will we be plugging in?”
“9 for the t, 325 for the P(9), and 41 for P(0),” you stated, pretty much unphased by the antics of your friends, “then you divide the 325 by 41 and multiply both sides by the natural log to get rid of the e.”
“Very good-”
“Wait slow down-”
“I don’t get it-”
Renjun, Jeno, and Jaemin all spoke at the same time, shooting each other looks as they fought to decide who should speak though Yangyang beat them all to it. “We’re trying to find the growth rate which is why we divide the final value by the starting value, it’s like finding the rate of change, you know?”
“God, at least I know three of us won’t fail the test,” Renjun muttered.
“Hey,” Jeno complained, “I understand it, I just need more time to write it all down, don’t be so mean.”
“Yeah okay, whatever, let’s just finish up this problem already because I’m hungry and I swear, if we don’t end before the cafeteria closes-”
“Multiply both sides by 1 over 9 to isolate the k constant and from there plug it into a calculator and solve to get the unknown relative growth rate,” you commented, your own stomach growling the tiniest bit at the mention of food.
“Oh my baby is so smart! I’m so proud of you,” Jaemin exclaimed as he reached over to try to squish your cheeks though you were quickly pulled out of his reach as someone moved your chair, “hey! Don’t take my baby away from me.”
“She’s not a baby, she’s already 18,” Yangyang reasoned.
A loud sigh came from the front of the room, effectively interrupting all conversation. “Jaemin, can you at least try to put in some effort?” Renjun whined.
“I did! Look, the k constant is equal to 0.23003 and I have everything written down here,” Jaemin defended, sliding his paper closer to Renjun who was struggling to see it from a distance.
Renjun made a noise of both content and confusion, “then why did you say that you didn’t get it?”
Jaemin shook his head, “oh no no no, I didn’t say that I didn’t get it, I was going to say that I don’t get how our y/n is so smart already. She’s going to be such a good doctor!”
“That’s your goal bro, not her’s.” Yangyang interjected.
There was a loud sound of a book shutting and everyone looked over at Jeno who was packing up his stuff. “What?” He questioned, when he noticed everyone's eyes on him. “Aren’t we going to get dinner?”
The rest of you started following suit after doing one last check that everyone was good on all of the material for the test tomorrow. “What score do you think you’ll get on the exam?” Yangyang asked as the group of you headed over to the cafeteria.
You let out a hum as you thought to yourself. “Maybe like an 85 or something around there.”
“Nah, I’m pretty sure you’ll hit at least a 90, or even a 90 exactly,” he responded with a cheeky giggle.
“What is that supposed to mean?”
“Because I’m the 10 that you need.”
Sure enough, you scored 90 points on the exam, prompting Yangyang to excitedly treat you for lunch that following weekend. One small date became two and eventually three which was when he asked you to be his girlfriend.
When you told the rest of the guys that the two of you were together, Jaemin let out a whoop before turning to the others, “you both owe me twenty.”
You raised an eyebrow at them, asking for an explanation. “We made a bet on when Yangyang would finally get the guts to ask you out. Turns out it was a lot faster than we thought,” Renjun explained dryly as he opened his wallet to hand Jaemin the bill.
The rest of your first year in college went by in the blink of an eye jumping from spending Christmas with Yangyang, Jeno, and Jaemin, to submitting your registrations for the next school year, then to finals to wrap up the term.
If there was one thing about freshman year that you’d keep dear to your heart, it would be the little Christmas party the four of you had at Jeno’s house. You had each brought a gift as each other’s Secret Santa, yours was a cute pair of pink socks with strawberries on them for Jaemin who you knew hated strawberries though he’d wear them anyways because they’re from you.
Supporting your predictions, Jaemin changed his socks right then and there with a smile on his face because “they’re so cute, just like my baby” causing your boyfriend, who was in fact your Secret Santa, to jokingly make a gagging sound at Jaemin’s affection towards you.
The gift Yangyang gave you was a thin bracelet with a single little sheep charm dangling off of it. “In Korean, yang means sheep so I thought it would be cute to give you something that could be a reminder of me when I’m not with you.” Now it was Jaemin and Jeno’s turns to make the sounds of disgust as you kissed Yangyang’s cheek to thank him.
So I think you should give your love to me. Baby, let me know
Sophomore year was when things started to change starting with Yangyang leaving to continue his studies in China where he was accepted into one of his dream universities. He had told you about his plans beforehand and you celebrated every milestone with him like when he first submitted his application, when he got his acceptance letter, and then a scholarship. Here you were finally, sending your boyfriend off at the airport before the beginning of fall semester.
“I love you so much, stay safe and don’t get sick,” you told him as you held him in a tight hug, not wanting to say goodbye just yet.
Yangyang laughed as he felt you trying to nuzzle into his chest. “I’ll be back sooner than you know it. Just four months and I’ll be back for the holidays.”
Even as your tears began to fall, you still smiled, not wanting his last moments with you to be sad ones. “Promise?”
“I promise.” He locked pinkies with you, sealing the deal.
Tumblr media
It was difficult to be in a long distance relationship, especially when it seems like the time zones are working against you. When you’re awake and going about your day, Yangyang is winding down and finishing up his work, about the head to sleep. There was never a good time for you to call each other, especially as the semester progressed and your workloads only increased.
“I really miss you, you know. I miss getting to hold you in my arms and mess up your hair only to have you hit me all the time.” You paused the voice recording he had sent you a few days ago, wanting so badly for time to go by faster and for Yangyang to return home sooner.
You sent him a voice recording back. “I passed that test I was talking about last week! I didn’t really do too well but it’s okay because apparently Jeno and Jaemin didn’t do all that great either. I miss having you here to help me study and tell me that I’m doing well. How did your ochem lab go? I’m sure you aced it.”
Sending each other voice recordings was the next best thing after calling because you could still hear each other’s voice while also still doing it at a time that was comfortable for you. It was like texting but with your voice instead of typing out words. Though sometimes it left you anxious because it wasn’t like a call where the other person is responding in real time. Yangyang would often leave you on read and would take a few days to respond so you inadvertently began doing the same thing.
It wasn’t until one weekend when both of you had free time that Yangyang finally snapped during a call. “It’s like you don’t want me anymore.”
“What? No, what do you mean?” You questioned.
“You don’t respond all the time and it’s like I’m not a top priority anymore,” he rambled.
“To be fair,” you began, “you don’t respond to me all the time either-”
“Yeah because I’m busy.” Yangyang interrupted.
You let out a sigh. “I’m busy too. We’re both college students majoring in some of the hardest fields, we know how hard we have to work for our education.”
“I know but like, you can still text me back. You don’t have to send voice recordings so often if you’re really that busy-”
“No, don’t make it sound like I’m exaggerating how busy I am. You are a top priority, but you’re not my number one and that should be common sense.” You tell him, feeling your own temper starting to go.
You could practically see Yangyang rolling his eyes at you. “I’m not trying to downplay your work at all. I’m just saying that it’s not that hard to put effort into our relationship.”
“Then how about you give me something to go off of first instead of making me change for you. You barely respond to me either so I can say just the same thing for you,” you argued.
“Look, I think we need some time away from each other to clear our heads and figure this out when we aren’t being weighed down by all our other problems,” he reasoned.
You let out a laugh. “You say that as if we haven’t already been separated from each other for two months already but okay.”
“Goodnight, y/n.” You heard the line go dead. He didn’t even end with an ‘I love you’ or anything like that though you chose not to think too hard about it because he was probably just as tense as you.
When Yangyang came home in December it felt like everything was right once again. He got to be reunited with the original group along with meeting the two newest additions, Haechan and Shotaro who were both business majors and were roped in by Jeno who had a shared class with both of them.
Yangyang had gotten you a second charm, the number 10 to go on the bracelet he had bought you the year before which you still wore almost constantly. “Ten because I’m the ten you need, remember?” You nodded as you smiled up at him, glad to finally have him back in your arms.
He had to go back to school sooner than the rest of you so your time with him was short-lived and things went back to the way they used to be, except even more distant this time around. Normally Yangyang would be sure to call you back if he ever missed a call from you, but he didn’t. He’d go days without responding to you, opening your messages but never sending anything back.
But it’s hard to tell if this is just a fling or if it’s true love that he thinks of
That semester, the two of you decided to break things off after yet another fight in hopes to preserve the friendship that you had before things got any worse. It was like a breath of fresh air for a moment, getting to finally focus your energy on your work and not worry about having to respond to messages from a boyfriend who didn’t really seem like one. Only when you slowed down did things really start to hit you.
When Yangyang came back during summer, your group was torn on how to handle the situation, wanting to hang out with both of you but not wanting to make things uncomfortable knowing how rocky things were between the two of you. You ended up pulling yourself back and encouraging them to go out with Yangyang since they could see you during the school year whereas he was in a different country and it only seemed fair.
That was really the last you saw or heard of him as you chose to bury yourself in work for the next year, not wanting to let yourself fall behind in school because of your emotions. It was, by far, one of your most productive years. Not only did you take some of your grad school tests and applied for many scholarships, you also earned yourself a spot on the Dean’s list and took part in a notable marine biology study done on the effects of pollution on the local animals.
Between balancing all of your current works and goals along with things to prepare you for your potential future careers, the mere existence of Liu Yangyang slipped your mind for just that short time. It was only a year later, during the summer before your senior year, did you hear from Jaemin that Yangyang was planning to come back.
“Yeah he was asking Jeno what we’re planning on doing for housing next year and if he could join us.” Jaemin informed you as the two of you were running an experiment and working on tracking the carbon output of the little plants in front of you.
“So what did you say to him?” You asked as you placed the oxygen gauge inside the chamber of the first plant.
Jaemin paused to see if the gauge was sending data to the computer. “I told him that the six of us were looking into getting one of the campus apartments in the fall so we might not be able to accommodate him.”
“Wait, six? Aren’t there five of us?” You started listing the names of your friends in your head.
“Haechan is going off-campus and Jeno’s girlfriend is joining us,” Jaemin corrects, “so next semester it’s us, Jeno and Yunha, Renjun, and Shotaro. Six. We probably won’t have space for him unless someone backs out.” You stared at the rising and falling of the line on the computer graph, not really sure if you were happy or sad at this. “Would you have liked it if he were to join us?” He questioned after seeing your silence.
“I don’t know, it’s not that I’m ‘uncomfortable’ around him…” your voice trailed off as the computer finished collecting data and indicated for you to reset and move on to the next plant, “it’s just that we didn’t really have a clean end to our relationship, if you know what I mean.”
Jaemin nodded in understanding as you moved the gauge to the second plant. “Would you like to get back together with him if given the opportunity?”
“Well, yeah but not if we’re both as busy as we are right now.” You explained, looking over at the screen to see if the oxygen was tracking.
“Try inserting it a little further,” Jaemin instructed when you both saw that the line was running a bit low, “but anyway, you guys are both going into the medical field, there’s no escaping being busy.”
“Yeah that’s exactly wh-”
“No, listen. What I’m saying is that you don’t have to both see each other all the time. Think about it. There’s tons of people out there who don’t even understand their partner’s job but they still make it work-” He rambled
“And who’s to say you can group me in with a majority?” You interject.
Jaemin looks away from the screen to roll his eyes at you. “That’s not the point. I’m just saying that maybe you should think about giving him another chance whether he lives with us or not.”
“I mean, I’ll think about it. That doesn’t mean I will.” You decide, wanting to get back to the experiment.
Santa tell me if you’re really there. Don’t make me fall in love again if he won’t be here next year
Truthfully, you hadn’t really gotten over Yangyang, you had merely forgotten about him for a while with all the stuff you were doing, which was what you had planned to do. A part of you wanted to see if things could still work out again but the other part of you didn’t want to put yourself in that same situation again, especially now that both you and him would probably be even more busy than before.
You didn’t know if he’d be coming back for good or if he’d be leaving again to go somewhere else and you didn’t want to take the chance of falling for him only to lose him shortly after. Thankfully the other guys didn’t ask too much about it seeing as how the housing situation was already settled.

It was just your luck and misfortune that you went in to work on a research assignment on the day you did. As you walked down the hallways of the lab building, you heard that one familiar voice ringing throughout the halls from an open door. You paused in your tracks, diverting from your course through the building to see if your suspicions were true as you peeked into one of the labs.
As you looked in, you saw his back towards you while he talked animatedly with one of your colleagues about how different it was to go to a university in China. You quickly ducked away when your colleague waved in your direction, not wanting to be seen by Yangyang.
“Who was that?” He asked, his voice getting fainter as you sped away from the room. You heard your name mentioned followed by an “oh” but that was about it as you got into the elevator to head to the archives.
And I’m trying to play it cool but it’s hard to focus when I see him walking around the room
Senior year progressed just like any other year, though you were glad that you got to live with your closest friends and at least see them for meals when you were all too busy to actually hang out. If anything, it was just the slightest bit more calm since there was no longer stress about passing general classes now that you were in more specialized biology courses that were actually enjoyable.
The annual Christmas party came up much faster than you expected but now that the six of you shared an apartment, it was only that much more convenient and because it would be your last year all together, Jaemin insisted that it be an actual get-together for your friends.
He invited Haechan and some of the guys he was now living with, though they were all older too. Renjun brought over some of the other computer science grad students that he had gotten close to recently, similar to Jeno in the engineering field.
As more people showed up and you worked on keeping all of your guests entertained, you hadn’t managed to keep track of everyone who set foot into the door, trusting Renjun to not let anyone in who had no business with you guys. It wasn’t until dinner started that you saw a face you hadn’t seen in a while.
“Hey,” Yangyang began as he almost ran into you exiting the kitchen with a plate full of food in his hands.
“Hey,” you said back, startled and unsure of how to actually react.
After you had gotten your food and returned to the living room, you say that he had taken up a seat next to Jeno and Jaemin as some Christmas movie started playing and you opted to sit on the sofa next to Jeno’s girlfriend Yunha, who gladly scooted over to make room for you. “Who’s that?” She asked, nodding over to where her boyfriend was.
“That’s, uh, Yangyang. He was one of our close friends during our freshmen year but he left to study at a school in China,” you inform her, glad that she accepted the simple explanation.
You successfully avoided him for almost the rest of the night, not because you didn’t like him but because you were scared of talking to him after so long. It was nearing the end of the night when Renjun had yelled for everyone to “sit your asses down in a circle” with the present they brought for the white elephant game gift exchange game.
The apartment was filled with laughter and cheers as the game progressed and people opened the gifts they chose, finding things outrageous as a whisk or backscratcher or even a bag of clothespins. The best one was the gift Jeno, a cat lover opened, pulling out a box of dog treats.
“Aw, our big samoyed!” Jaemin cooed. “Do some tricks for us!” Jeno shot him a glare before allowing the game to continue on.
The gift you decided on keeping was a small red envelope sealed with a shiny golden sticker. When you opened it, you pulled out a postcard from Shanghai and you felt a wave of emotion hit you. You held it up to show the people around you what it was before quickly slipping it back into the envelope and placing it on the ground beneath your crossed legs.
Once everyone had opened their gifts and a few people were starting to leave, you decided to get a head start on cleaning up in the kitchen as your roommates bid everyone farewell and wished them a safe drive home.
“I think it’s kind of funny how you got my gift,” a voice said from behind as you transferred the leftover dumplings from the plate they were on into a tupperware container.
You shrugged your shoulders. “The minimum price requirement was $5 and I’m sure you couldn’t have spent more than $2 on that.”
“The envelope and the sticker made up for the other $3,” he stated, his playful attitude ever so present, “so how have you been lately?”
“Pretty good, I guess. Got accepted into grad school, finishing up my remaining courses, just normal college stuff, how about you?” You finally make eye contact with him as you have to nudge him out of the way for you to open the refrigerator. He looks nearly exactly the same as when he first left but somehow more handsome and less boyish.
“Oh, I’ve been doing just about the same I could say. I decided to stay home for this school year, though I suppose you already knew that seeing as how you were spying on me at the beginning of the semester.” He shot you a wink as you returned back to the counter to start working on another dish.
You let out a gasp, “I was not spying on you.”
“Then why did you just peek into the lab and leave before I got to see you?” He inquired.
“Because I had other things to do,” you respond quickly.
“Well what if I told you that I actually wanted to see you and was disappointed that you ran away?” He took a step closer to you.
You secured the lid on a container of fried rice. “Then I guess you’re not the only one.”
“Hm, so you really did miss me then,” Yangyang chuckles.
“Will the two of you stop talking and just kiss already?” Jaemin shouts from the hallway.
Yangyang lets out a laugh. “You heard the guy. Come here.”
You gave in to your heart as you closed the refrigerator again, turning to face him and taking only two steps until you were in his arms once again as his lips met yours.
Come and kiss me baby, we don’t need no mistletoe

Hi, I hope this question doesn’t bother u but I’m just genuinely curious about how u don’t like Johnny but still wrote or write about him so neatly without being biased, how do you make it work? Writing about a person u don’t particularly like?
hii it doesn’t bother me!! well....tbh, i haven’t actually written about him for real since i came to the realization!! even when the attraction was dwindling, it was kinda obvious (to me, in retrospect, and i think even to a small number of people who read my fics dfjklsg) that he was usually just 🧍🏽‍♀️ There! SO my advice is as follows: (under the cut because i didn’t know this was gonna get so long, lol)
Do not force yourself to write for someone you don’t like.
I cannot imagine a situation in which it is worth it, honestly. You want to write stories you’re entirely proud of and that you can have fun writing, and I can’t imagine having fun with a story with a love interest I have no interest in! I think that a lot of writers, especially KPOP writers, especially NCT writers, feel a lot of pressure to write for every member, but I think that’s a very unrealistic expectation for most people.
If you can genuinely write content for all 23 members that you’re proud of and had fun writing, that is incredible and I’m happy for you! Most people are not like that! Most people are, like myself, interest-driven, and devote more effort to things that catch their interest. I really do think quality over quantity applies here, honestly! I’d much rather go to someone’s master list and see, I don’t know, like 10 stories for approximately 8/23 of the members, and read the ones that catch my interest and be blown away by the work and fall in love with it and all that stuff, than go to someone’s masterlist who has, like, 23 works with one for each member, and I go to read the ones that catch my interest, and I can tell they’re lackluster ideas or the writer doesn’t really care for the member they’re writing about! Honestly, I’d rather go to a writer’s masterlist and see that they have fics that they’ve worked really hard on for members I might not even care about! Yeah, I’m probably not going to read them, but that does strike me as more genuine from a writer’s perspective! Also, I actually might read them!! I read a fic once for Yangyang, whom I really do like, but rarely ever read for, that was actually incredible and I could tell the writer really cared about that fic.
However...If you have to write about a member you don’t particularly care for, here is my advice.
(Note: When I say “have to,” I mean that very literally; you have made a commitment to writing a story about this character for some sort of commission or thing like that. If you entered a collab for one member that you no longer wish to write about, I would honestly just respectfully bow out by a respectable date! Honestly, even if it’s past the date, I think it would still be okay to bow out; this is a hobby, not a livelihood. Also, if you’re working on something that’s been commissioned from you, you could always reach out to the person and see if they’re willing to renegotiate a new story idea with you!)
If it’s a romantic story and you have no romantic feelings, you could:
During the writing process, replace the member with another member OR with an original character of your own design! This is kinda tricky sometimes, though, because I think that, for me personally, the member’s personality has to shine through in the story. So if I’m writing a story about, let’s say, Doyoung, and I don’t want to write about Doyoung and I want to do my member replacing strategy, it would not be in my best interest to replace Doyoung in my head with Haechan, for example.
Why? Because they’re entirely different personalities. For example, writing a scene about Doyoung getting pantsed in the cafeteria would play out much differently than a scene about Haechan getting pantsed in the cafeteria. Writing a story with pre-existing “characters” is fun and “easier” than entirely original fiction because these characters have personality traits we already know and love! So stripping Doyoung in your story of all his Doyoung-esque traits would make the story less fun for someone who likes Doyoung for Doyoung, y’know? Like, honestly? I don’t think there are very many, if any, members in NCT whose personalities I find similar enough to substitute one for the other; that’s kind of the charm of NCT and of just individuals in general: individualism!
Now, for using an original member, I would suggest finding a face claim similar to the member you’re writing about, but still someone you find attractive! When you’re constructing the character, give them all the positive traits and quirks (that you find endearing and/or relevant to the plot) of the member in question and, if you’re writing angst or something, you might want to add in some of their negative traits, too, for realistic purposes! Basically click and drag that member’s personality, the palatable and relevant parts, to a whole new, entirely original person and go wild!
(If you go the “character replacement” method, remember to switch the names back when you’re done!)
Other tactics for this could be, if you’re just not really feeling it that day but you’re not, like, averse to the member–like you don’t dislike them, you just don’t like them–you could inundate yourself with positive content about them! Here are tips:
watch endearing/positive YouTube compilations! Searching “(insert member name) funny/cute/sexy moments” yields hundreds, probably even thousands of results! Watch as many as you need to get the ball rolling!
scroll through their writing tags! See how other people write them, how they characterize them, think about them; it never really hurts!
talk to people who bias them! If you have a friend who really likes the member, offer them a space to just go wild and gush! It can be really refreshing to see someone through the eyes of someone who loves them!
Honestly, that’s all I can come up with right now, but I’m gonna try and keep this link handy for myself (and maybe if anyone else wants it/is interested, I can make a small list/section on my blog for writing tips/advice) and update it if I think of more tips! I hope this helped!

Companion of Tomorrow {Kun x Reader}
Light poured into the window of the parted curtains, casting a warm ray of light on your back, bringing a gentle heat throughout your body. A hum found its way from your lips as you were sleepily guided from the comfort of your dreams. Your eyes slid open slowly, blinking away the remnants of sleep as your body awakened itself to new sensations. The smell of morning wafting through the cracked window. The sun, warm on your back. The arm draped delicately over your waist. The soft rise and fall of a chest right beside you.
Your eyes trailed over him. He was on his side, one arm draped across your waist, the other curled up beneath his wrinkled pillow. His hair was tousled and messy but fell delicately across his forehead. His eyes were closed but fluttering with dreams. His lips were slightly parted as he exhaled, sending a less than pleasant wave of morning breath over you. You wrinkled your nose but didn’t move. His arms and chest were bare, the same way he always slept when the weather was warm. The white bedsheets gathered around his waist, hiding the red and black plaid pants he’d worn to bed. The blue duvet settled on his hips, hiding the imprint of his legs behind its bulk.
A smile found its way to your lips as your eyes moved back to the beautiful face. Three years and you still couldn’t get used to seeing his face every morning.
“Your staring.”
Your body jolted, sending a ripple across the mattress at the sudden movement. Your heart thudded loudly in your chest, calming itself down from the sudden rush of adrenaline spiked by the fear.
A chuckle found its way to your ears as his brown eyes fluttered open, meeting yours.
“Don’t do that!” You hissed, shoving him lightly.
He laughed and little louder and gathered you closer, bringing you in until your body was pressed to his, his arm around your waist tightening to hold you there. You let out a playful groan and wound your arms around his middle, snuggling into his chest.
“You’re a jerk,” your voice mumbled.
His body shook against yours as he laughed. You patted his back lightly but didn’t say anything more as you settled against him, eyes closing.
“Good morning beautiful,” his soft voice whispered in your ear after a moment of silence.
The hairs on the back of your neck stood up, goosebumps climbing your arms.
“Good morning my dove,” you whispered back.
You paused after speaking, waiting to hear the mocking retorts of his two roommates, only to be met with silence.
Your eyes opened and you lifted your head, eyes drifting to the bunk bed along the other wall, the bed YangYang and Dejun usually occupied.
“They got up earlier this morning. I heard them sneak out. They probably went to disturb Kunhang and Ten,” he sighed.
You let out a grunt of acknowledgment and rested your head back against Kun. It wasn’t very often the two of you had alone time, especially in the mornings, unless you stayed the night at your apartment, which only happens about once a month when Kun could convince Doyoung or Taeyong to stay over to make sure the others didn’t burn down the dorm.
“Do you have to practice today?” you asked, mumbling against his shoulder before pressing a kiss against his skin.
He shuddered lightly.
“No, we have the day off,” he answered.
You could honestly say that you were shocked. You often spend your weekends at the WayV dorm, taking care of Bella, Louis, and Leon while the others were at various schedules. You usually would see Kun as he was climbing out of bed to get the others up or when he was coming back to the dorm after a long day of schedules, where he and the others would sit down to chatter over whatever meal you had prepared that night. It was rare he had free days on Saturdays, but you certainly weren’t going to complain.
You pushed yourself closer to him and slid your bare legs between his.
“What are you doing?” he asked, clearly amused.
“I want to crawl inside your skin.”
The comment had clearly surprised you both. You hadn’t intended to say your thoughts out loud. You looked up to meet Kun’s face, opening your mouth to apologize when he let out a guffaw of laughter. You felt your cheeks beginning to turn pink.
“You want to share my skin?” he asked, teasing.
Shyly, you nodded and slid yourself closer. He responded by wrapping both arms around you, tugging you against him until your chest was pressed tightly against his.
“I love you,” he whispered softly in your ear.
Your cheeks flushed again. Sure, you’d heard him say it a thousand times now, but you just could never get over how good it felt to hear those words. Your heart swelled with love and joy.
“I love you too.”
One hand came up to cup your face softly, drawing you in until his lips touched yours softly. You pressed closer, begging for more contact as his lips moved perfectly with yours.
Your heart hammered in your chest as your eyes closed and you tucked yourself back under his chin, your eyes fluttering closed, a smile ghosting on your lips.
Being with Kun was like a dream. A beautiful, wonderful dream you never wanted to wake up from. And thankfully, you didn’t have to.
Meeting Kun had felt like a dream but after three years and four months, you had no doubt that, even if it was a dream, you’d cling onto it and never let go.
A fond smile grew across your lips as you nestled closer, your mind drifting off to that magical day.
~
You had always dreamed of traveling and working in South Korea, at least for a year or two. Being immersed in a culture that was so different from your own was something you desperately desired. So, when the opportunity arose to travel abroad to teach the English language at a South Korean entertainment company, you had jumped at the offer.
The company had set you up with a really nice, fully furnished apartment close enough to the company that you could walk it. You’d sent most of your things, clothes, shoes, books, etcetera, a week ahead of your arrival. You had flown out on a Friday in August and, by the time you’d touched down in Korea, it was late afternoon on Saturday.
An English speaking driver had been sent to collect you from the airport. He had been a nice man. He loaded you into his company car and drove from the airport to your new apartment, which wasn’t too far away. Your eyes had been glued to the window the whole time and, although he answered any questions you had about the city, it wasn’t really a tour.
By the time you’d gotten to your apartment, he helped you inside and you were sprawled across your bed, fast asleep.
Ironically, you had found yourself asleep for most of the day on Sunday, waking up in the wee hours of the morning for food before putting yourself back to bed and waking up again early Monday morning. You wouldn’t start at work until Wednesday, so you took the time to begin going through your things, putting them away.
As you had finished, your stomach growled in hunger, but the only thing that had been left in your apartment was crackers, cookies, and water, which would not be sufficient enough to satiate your hunger. You grabbed your phone, stuffing a few dollars in your pocket, hoping you could find somewhere to convert them. You walked out of the apartment, locking the door behind you.
As you stepped outside the apartment complex, you were immediately swept away by the sights you’d never seen before. The big city of Seoul. Sure, it was similar to what you’d imagined New York would have been like, but it was different. People walking the streets, bustling to their jobs; cars and buses occupying the streets; the scent of restaurants wafting to your nose making you rethink going to the supermarket as opposed to a restaurant.
You didn’t realize you were just standing outside your apartment complex, in the middle of foot traffic until you felt something- someone, slam into your back, knocking you to the ground.
“Oh my gosh! I’m so sorry!” rapidfire Korean met your ears.
It took you a minute to make out what the stranger was saying. You were still learning the language and you were, by all accounts, horrible at the language.
“I… uh…” you stammered.
Standing above you was a gorgeous man whom you, of course, being a mega NCT and WayV fan, automatically recognized despite his facemask as Qian Kun. Your eyes trailed over what you could see of his face, but it was his eyes that gave him away.
“Can I... help... you up?” this time, his words were in choppy, but semi-perfect English, which, to say the least, surprised you.
He offered a hand down to lift you up and, after staring at it for a moment, you immediately grasped his hand and allowed him to haul you back onto your feet.
“I’m Kun,” he introduced.
He stilled hadn’t let go of your hand.
“(y-y/n)” you responded, an embarrassed blushed creeping to your cheeks.
“I’m sorry I was just standing in the middle of the streets. I just moved here and this is my first real look at the city…” you mumbled.
His eyes lit up.
“Well! I have time! I have the day off! I was just heading to get some lunch. How about I take you to my favorite restaurant and then give you a tour?” he beamed.
It took you a moment to agree, shock spread across your face. This person whom you’d never physically met before, who didnt know you from Adam, was suddenly asking you to lunch and a visit around town?
You didn’t know what to say but ‘yes’ and thus started your friendship that would eventually lead to something so much more.
~
“What are you thinking about?” a voice pulled you from your reverie.
“When we first met,” I responded.
He hummed in response and pressed a kiss to your head.
“That beautiful girl standing in the middle of the sidewalk distracting me from paying attention.”
With a small laugh, you slapped his shoulder lightly.
“Hey! The city was too gorgeous not to look at,” you retorted playfully.
He didn’t respond, just pulled you closer, squeezing your soft skin to his before pressing another soft kiss on your lips.
~
The day Kun asked you out, you nearly had to pinch yourself, which, turned out, you didn’t have to because, as you were staring at Kun, attempting to judge whether he was joking or not, Ten had pinched you hard in the back of the neck, kickstarting your brain.
Blubbering and blushing, you managed to choke out the word “yes” in agreement to letting him take you to the carnival in the nearby town.
That date had been so perfect that, standing at the door of your apartment, Kun had kissed your cheek and asked to be exclusive, which, you didn’t need a moment to ponder as you wound your arms around your neck and teasingly whispered the words “my boyfriend” in his ear, making him blush and squirm. He’d still ended up in your apartment that night, lounging beside you on the couch eating a large bowl of ice cream as an old Marvel movie played on the television.
After your first date, not much time could be spent between the two. Sure, you were already the babysitter for their pets, spending much of your time after work walking Bella or keeping the cats from destroying all the furniture, but you didn’t get to see Kun very often. You’d whip up something simply they could heat when they returned home, but, not wanting to overstay your welcome, you’d always return back to your own apartment thirty minutes before they’d gotten home, with the exception of one day.
You had lost track of time as you lounged on the couch in a pair of leggings and comfy top the boys had let you keep in your personal drawer. Your laptop rested on your lap as you scrolled through the homework assignments from your students as Bella curled up beside you and Leon wrapped himself around your neck. You weren’t paying attention to the time until keys jiggled in the door and Bella was flying off your lap, barking with her tail swinging rapidly, waiting for one of the boys she loved so much to step through the doors.
You closed your laptop hurriedly and glanced toward the kitchen, vacant after you’d forgotten to cook anything. You’d jumped off the couch to hurry out the door when Kun’s voice stopped you.
“Why do you always leave before we get here? Do you not want to see me?” he asked, voice sounding hurt and dejected.
You immediately turned, face dropping in shock.
“No! I just didn’t want to be one of those clingy girls that’s always lurking in every corner!” you defended.
His face softened.
“I don’t mind the clingy. It lets me know that I’m wanted,” he spoke.
Bella bounced at his feet, begging for attention as Louis wound himself between his legs. Kun knelt to pick Bella up, petting her head softly.
“I do want to be around you. All the time, actually. I just thought you’d want some space.”
He crossed the foyer slowly, careful not to step on Louis or Leon. When he reached you, he placed Bella gently on the couch and wrapped his arms around your waist.
“I love how considerate you are, but it’s seeing your beautiful face that gives me all the energy in the world,” he whispered.
Your heart melted. Tears welled up in your eyes as you wrapped your arms around his neck.
“I’ll never leave early again,” you promised.
A smile ghosted over his lips.
“Good,” he whispered, leaning closer and pressing a soft kiss to your lips.
You’d gasped at first. He’d never kissed you before. Not on dates, not when he walked you back up to your apartment, not when you met up to go somewhere together. For a while, you’d questioned whether or not he’d actually wanted to kiss you, but this… this was well worth the wait.
You melted against his lips, leaning into his touch. They were so soft and warm, gliding perfectly across yours, pulling you deeper and deeper into him.
When he pulled away, you were left breathless, the taste and feel of his lips lingering on your own.
“How about tonight, I make dinner and you finish grades. The boys will be home in an hour and we both know chaos will ensue after that.”
You smiled softly and kissed his cheek before letting him go into the kitchen as you sat back down on the couch and re-opened your laptop.
~
A pair of warm lips pressed against your own, drawing you out of your memories as you kissed back, gliding your lips along his.
The kiss was quick, but it was enough to stir up the butterflies that never seemed to stop fluttering when you were around Kun.
“You’re so beautiful,” he whispered when he’d pulled away.
You smiled and ran a hand up through his hair.
“You’re gorgeous,” you whispered back.
Pink dusted his cheeks.
After your conversations about your leaving early and your first kiss, you never left early again and, most nights you found yourself tucked in Kun’s embrace as YangYang and Dejun argued over whose feet stank the most.
To be fair, it was Kun’s feet they were smelling, but you’d never tell them that.
“I love mornings like these,” he whispered.
You nodded. Most mornings, you either were forced to sleep in your own beds in your own houses, Kun not wanting to disturb you as he got up at odd hours of the morning before you. You, not wanting to wake him up if you had to leave first. It had just been easier, but it wasn’t an arrangement either of you were particularly fond of.
Something soft hit the outside of the door, slightly starting you both until the distinguished sounds of two cats pouncing on the door at the same time met your ears. You rolled your eyes. YangYang or Yukhei were likely teasing the cats.
That was an everyday thing too, except, most of the time, it ended with someone opening the door and an excited Bella jumping in bed with you both as two cats scurried around the door chasing a toy.
“Do you remember when you first met them?” Kun asked.
You let out a laugh. That was one interesting day.
~
Meeting the rest of WayV had been a dream and a nightmare rolled into one. Kun always met you outside of the dorm and the company, always keeping two parts of his lives separate, something you didn’t mind too much as you and Kun were really in the beginnings of your friendship. (You didn’t find out until later that he’d been hiding you away so the insanity of six crazy boys didn’t scare you off).
The day you’d met them had been a complete accident. Kun had asked you out for coffee, something that had become quite normal, normal enough that the ladies at the counter knew exactly what you wanted before you made your way to the counter. As you’d gotten your drinks and sat down at your usual booth, both sitting on the same side, you pulled your laptop from your bag and plugged your earbuds into the port. You fired up the Netflix show the two of you had been watching and started the next episode.
Not ten minutes in, the door to the coffee shop swung open, something that wasn’t out of the ordinary, but it was Ten’s voice that caught you both off guard.
“Yukhei! This is a public establishment! You can’t just go around flinging doors open so hard they smack the wall!” he scolded.
Kun’s head immediately shot up, startling you into following his gaze.
Standing at the entrance to the coffee shop were six boys, all of varying heights. They were standing around in a sort of semi-circle before moving to the counter to order.
“Oh God,” Kun mumbled.
You didn’t have to question him. As Yukhei, very loudly, placed his order (a large vanilla coffee with extra sugar), Kun slid down in his seat, cheeks heating up in embarrassment.
“Of all the ways you could meet my members, this is probably the worst,” he complained.
You let out a little giggle which, you had hoped was quiet enough, but, as YangYang scanned the shop looking for the source, his eyes landed on you.
At first, he did nothing but offer you an eye smile over his face mask, sending you a little wave in which you awkwardly returned. But as Kun glanced up briefly, the maknae’s eyes zeroed in on his face.
“Kun-ge?” he asked.
This caught the others attention and, before long, your booth was surrounded.
“So this is where you run off to!” Kunhang stated dramatically.
Kun sighed, rolling his eyes.
“I-” he started but was abruptly cut off as Dejun’s eyes fixed heavily on you.
“Is this your girlfriend?”
Kun’s cheeks were red again.
“What?! No! She’s just a really good friend!” he defended.
That had hurt a bit but you didn’t say anything, just awkwardly sat there with a half smile struggling on your lips.
“Where did you meet?” Ten interrogated.
“I bumped into him and he offered to give me a tour of the city,” you answered quietly.
Your cheeks were warming now too as all eyes directed onto you, your hands getting clammy at the attention.
“What’s your name?” Sicheng asked, sliding into the booth across from you and offering you a peaceful smile.
“(y/n)” you responded.
“Such a pretty name!” Ten cooed.
Your cheeks reddened.
“Do you like our Kun-ge?” Yukhei’s voice boomed.
You flinched at the loudness, but your cheeks grew redder still.
“I-I…”
“Yukhei! You don’t ask questions like that! You’re all making her uncomfortable! That’s why I was putting off introducing you all!” Kun scolded.
No one said anything for a few minutes before Ten slid into the booth beside Sicheng.
“Are you dating Kun?” he asked.
You shook your head.
“Kun and I are honestly just friends. I just moved here not too long ago and he was nice to me. So he’s kinda the only friend I have here,” you said quietly.
YangYang squeezed himself into the booth beside you, sandwiching you between him and Kun.
“Do you like cats?” he asked.
A weird question, but you nodded. You absolutely adored all animals.
“And dogs?” Yukhei bellowed.
After flinching at the sound of his voice, you nodded.
YangYang gripped your wrist.
“Let’s take her back to the door so she can meet Louis, Leon, and Bella!”
With that, you were pulled from your seat and excitedly marched out of the coffee shop, Yukhei and Kunhang excitedly bouncing behind you as YangYang led you down the street. As you passed the coffee shop, Kun was shaking his head and packing your laptop back into your computer bag, preparing to follow the excitable children.
~
“And when I finally walked in, you were playing with Leon as YangYang and Kunhang spitfired question after question! And you never missed a beat!” Kun laughed.
You reciprocated his laugh, curling into him.
Meeting the guys had most certainly been an adventure, but it was an adventure that led you to laying in Kun’s bed now, snuggled up to his side.
“I wouldn’t trade you or them for anything in the world. Even if you are all crazy,” you laughed.
“I think they may love you about as much as I do,” Kun laughed.
“YangYang even called me “mom” the other day when he called me at work to ask how to get a poop stain out of the carpet,” you giggled.
Kun laughed alongside you before pausing.
“Wait- what poop stain?”
You laughed and pat his chest.
“Don’t worry about it baby,” you cooed.
You nuzzled into his chest and, for a moment, he seemed to ponder whether to push you away to ask more questions or just drop it. As he wrapped his arms tighter around you, kissing your head, you smiled and laid your head on his chest.
As his heartbeat sounded in your ear and the room fell silent, you could feel your eyes beginning to close, body sinking deeper into his hold as comfort washed over you.
“My sweet love,” he whispered.
You smiled and burrowed closer. Your consciousness wavering, body going limp in his hold as sleep tugged at your eyelids. You felt Kun settle beneath you. He wasn’t far from falling back to sleep when…
BOOM!
The sound was so loud it rattled the windows and doors. Your eyes flew open and you lurched forward, blindly grabbing for your housecoat to cover your pajamas before running for the door, Kun hot on your trail.
Your heart was racing. That boom had sounded too much like an explosion. Fear spiked through your veins. What if someone had gotten hurt?!
“Yukhei!” Dejun’s voice was shrill from the kitchen.
Your feet raced, pounding on the floor as you swung yourself into the kitchen and immediately stopped, taking in the sight before you.
The microwave was swung open, dark smoke rolling out in waves, rising toward the ceiling. Your eyes caught the flicker of a small flame from whatever had been in the microwave. Your eyes scanned the room as Kun moved into the pantry to grab the fire extinguisher.
Yukhei was on the ground, large, silent tears sliding down his face, one large hand clutching his right eye. Your heart pounded in worry.
Kun pulled the pin on the fire extinguisher and aimed the hose at the microwave, firing the foam at the microwave. You knelt by Yukhei and gingerly guided his hand away from his eye, examining any damage.
He had a large, red welt directly under his eye, right along the bone. It oozed a little blood, but what worried you the most was Yukhei’s inability to keep his eye open. It blinked and flinched, but never opened more than halfway.
“Come on sweetheart, let me check your eye,” you spoke softly.
You placed your hand on the back of his shoulder and slowly guided him off the floor. Tears continued to slide down his cheeks and he stumbled slightly, but allowed you to guide him to the nearest bathroom down the hall.
As you led him inside, you instructed him to sit down on the toilet lid, which he quickly complied, hand still covering his eye.
You grabbed a washcloth, running it under cool tap water and ringing it out before guiding his hand from his face and pressing the cool cloth against his eye. He squirmed for a moment before relaxing and leaning into the cloth.
“Can you tell me what happened?”
His bottom lip trembled and a small sob fell from his lips. You leaned patiently against the edge of the sink, keeping the cloth pressed to his eye.
“W-we were trying to heat up breakfast so we didn’t wake you b-but… something went wrong and when I tried to open the microwave door, it flew open and smacked me in the eye!”
He stammered and stumbled over his words, but as he finished speaking, you had a better understanding.
“I need to have a look at your eye, alright,” you spoke tenderly.
He let out a whimper but nodded and you moved the cloth away.
“Can you tell me how it hurts?” you asked as his eye flinched and twitched.
“It hurts all over but it also feels like there's something in my eye,” he whimpered.
Softly, you slid your fingers along his jaw and encouraged him to tip his head back. Once at an angle where you could see, you gently placed two fingers along the bone beneath his eye, careful of the wound. Your thumb rested just below his brow. Slowly and carefully, you caught his eyelashes with your thumb and coaxed his eye to open. He flinched a little and fought against the movement, but as you opened his eye fully, you found the problem.
The whites of his eye was red with irritation, and, settled right near his iris, was a long eyelash probably knocked into his eye as he was rubbing it after the door hit him.
“You have an eyelash. Be very still so I can get it out,” you spoke tenderly.
He didn't move as you used your hand resting below his eye to gently dab your finger over the eyelash and extract it. When it was out, you let his eye close and, without the irritant, it no longer flinched and twitched.
You allowed him to tilt his head back down and, with the eyelash resting on your finger, you brought it up for him to see.
“Make a wish.”
He closed his eyes for a brief moment before blowing the eyelash off your finger.
After the extraction of the eyelash, you cleaned the small wound under his eye and placed a Spiderman bandage on the wound.
“Now, let’s go get you some ice before you get a black eye.”
He stood up from the toilet seat and placed his head in yours. You laughed lightly and led him into the kitchen, him trailing behind you like an overgrown toddler.
As you entered the kitchen, you found YangYang, Dejun, and Kunhang all lined up by the table, Kun standing in front of them running his hands through his hair, a habit he only did when he was highly stressed or annoyed.
You pulled an ice pack out of the freezer and handed it to Yukhei, who scampered off to sit at the table with the ice on his eye.
“So I know the microwave door hit Yukhei in the eye, but why exactly did it fly open? What was the bang? What was on fire?”
Kun let out a sigh and shook his head. No one else said a word, the boy’s attention on anything but you.
You put your hands on your hips. You keep be gentle and loving when it was required, but, while Kun was usually soft and gentle, you had an attitude and you had high morals and expectations.
“I’ll ask again. Exactly what happened?” you asked sternly, soft eyes turning hard as you stared down the four.
No one said anything for a moment before Dejun opened his mouth to speak.
“We were hungry but we didn’t want to wake you guys up…” he mumbled.
“So we thought we’d make something ourselves but Kun doesn’t allow us to use the stove after we almost burnt down the kitchen that one time,” YangYang continued.
“We found the bacon and sausage from yesterday… so we decided to heat that up,” Kunhang added.
You closed your eyes. You’d put the sausage and bacon in aluminum foil to keep it from dying out and getting soggy. Please please let them not have put metal in the microwave.
“We didn’t know the foil in the microwave would catch fire until it blew the microwave door open…” Yukhei finished.
Aluminum foil in the microwave… They’d put METAL in the microwave.
You let out a drawn out sigh and rested your head in your hands, massaging your temples.
“You can’t put metal in the microwave,” you muttered.
“We know that! … Now…” YangYang spoke.
You heaved a heavy sigh.
“Was anyone besides Yukhei close to the microwave when it blew open?” you asked.
They thought about it for a moment before all four shook their heads.
Kun looked at you questioningly for a moment before realization dawned across his face.
“You stay here, I’ll take him to the Emergency Room,” Kun said, walking out of the kitchen to retrieve a shirt from the bedroom.
“Emergency Room?!” YangYang shouted.
“He could have been exposed to radiation from the microwave. There’s nothing they can really do if he has, but we need to know for sure,” you stated, rubbing your temples.
Kun returned back still in his pajama pants but now wearing a black hoodie to match. He guided Yukhei out the door while you sent the others to clean up the kitchen.
Stange how quickly a peaceful morning can turn to chaos.
~
It was noon when Kun’s car pulled into their house and he and Yukhei were stepping out, both carrying large takeout bags. As they made their way inside, they plopped the takeout bags on the counter. Kun came up behind you, wrapping his arms around your waist and pressed a kiss to your jaw.
“Doyoung, Taeyong, and the Dreamies will be over in an hour. I’m taking tomorrow off. We’re taking a little vacation to the hotel we usually stay at to get away,” he whispered in your ear.
Apparently, he wasn’t quiet enough because as YangYang grabbed his takeout box, he made a gagging noise deep in his throat, earning himself a lightly headslap from Kun.
You nodded and pressed a kiss to his lips.
“Yulhei?”
“He’s fine. His eye will bruise, but he’ll be fine otherwise.”
You nodded and slide yourself closer into his side, kissing his jaw.
~
A few hours later, while you all were playing fetch with Bella, Doyoung, Taeyong, and the Dreamies let themselves in. Upon seeing them, you and Kun grabbed your own respective duffel bags and headed for the car before anyone could stop you. One catastrophe was enough to make you need a break.
As you settled into his car and he started the engine, he didn’t move for a long moment. You looked at him questioningly.
“You were so gentle taking care of Yukhei but then so firm when you needed answers and disciplined them…” he muttered.
You nodded, confusion etched across your features. Things like this had happened before. Maybe not to the magnitude, but you’d handled sprained ankles and broken bones together before. It honestly wasn’t too out of the ordinary.
“It just makes me think about actual children,” he mumbled.
By now you were beyond confused. Sure, you’d talked about children before, but only enough to know that you each wanted children, granted, you wanted more than he did.
“And I love you,” he said.
You raised an eyebrow.
“I love you too.”
“I had something so much more romantic planned but… I just don’t think I can wait. Not after today,” he said.
“Ok, what are you talking about?”
You had more questions than answers, at least, until he opened the glovebox and pulled out a small velvet black box.
A gasp tumbled from your lips. That box! It was the size of-
He flipped open the lid, pulling you from your thoughts as he presented you with a dazzling diamond, perfectly centered in a triangular receptacle, delicately placed on a band of white gold with tinier diamonds decorating halfway down both sides.
“(y/f/n) (y/m/d) (y/l/n), will you be my wife?”
Don’t leave Kun hanging! What’s your answer?

NCT / MISSION CLEAR?
english is not my first language please forgive any grammatical mistakes!
As they were looking around to save some time for the others in the room, Mark heard a scream. He followed it right away and after taking a corner to the right, there stood a girl in the middle of the hallway. She didn't look much older than the dreamies.
Mark could sense the terror in her eyes. His own eyes widened and good thing Lucas saw him going a different direction and followed the boy. In the ear pin Kun is asking the boys what's going on for he can't see that part of the hallway.
With slow footsteps Mark approached the girl, without talking, scared that she'll run from him but right when he's just some feet apart from her someone with a gun pointed right at the girl's head walk from the left part of the corridor.
Four corridors connected the place she stood in. One in front of her, one in the back and two left and right. The ends were dark and you couldn't see much.
Lucas point his gun at the guy thinking he might try to hurt his friend, but Mark is more concerned about the girl than himself. He hates when innocent people die in their mission. All of them hate to see the eyes of the innocents closing in front of them. So it's a rule in Neo City that they will do anything they can to save the innocent people.
Meanwhile, in the van, Kun is trying his hardest to get the cameras working on that side of the hall. Seeing that he can't succeed, he's calling Renjun to help him, and it's already on to tell Taeyong that the two '99 liner boys found something.
He's not sure what they found, but something about it's telling him it isn't good.
'One more step and the girl is out'', the man covered in all black says while pointing the gun at the girl's head.
Lucas eyes widened when he's analyzes her better. She's short with long brown hair and big brown eyes, full of terror, she's scared for her life that's for sure. Who wouldn't be in her position? She's wearing black jeans and a loose white sweater, her clothes are dirty, there's stained blood on her skin and sweater, and Lucas is hoping that's not her blood. Everything is plain beside the necklace that lay on her collarbones, not so small but also not so big. Good thing Lucas is staying close enough to see it.
The necklace looks exactly likes his friend necklace and probably everyone in the gang knows whom that necklace belongs too.
Taeyong walks the same path as the two after Kun tell him that something is happening and soon enough he finds himself beside Lucas. The man sees him.
'Ah, I see you guys got backup, huh?' his tone sounds like he knows he's going to win anyway, so more people will only make his show better. In the van Kun is freaking out and the moment the cameras show the hallway he's already on it to get some members for backup.
'Jeno, I need you in the back of the building now. Yuta you too. Also, where's Winwin?' Jeno nods and Yuta follows, soon Kun can hear Winwin's response.
'Here, I'm going with the two, Ten and Yangyang can take the back.' Kun don't dare to stop Winwin as he doesn't know how bad the situation in the hallway is. As soon as he could see through cameras all he could think of was to keep the girl safe, the paternal figure in him would not let him see an innocent teenager girl, probably close to age to the dreamies, die, he would not forgive himself.
Taeyong's eyes show no emotion, even after he saw the necklace that lies on the girl's collar.
The necklace was like a big sparkly thing on the girl's collarbones; it was the only thing beside her big terrified brown eyes you will see. Deep down, Taeyong was scared. They never kill innocent people and whether this girl was who he thinks she was or not, he hates seeing innocent people die in the hands of bad guys.
Jeno, Yuta and Winwin were slowly making their way into the hallway. Soon enough they could see the girl's back, the man's hand and the gun pointed right at her temple. One wrong move from the three in the front and the girl is out is what the three thought and feared.
Mark was still not thinking straight. He was trying to come up with something to get her out of the man's grip, but he couldn't think of anything. He has never wanted to save someone more in his life. He could see his friend's eyes on the girl. His friend that was once terrified of being alone and losing everything.
'Mark, do as the man tell you. Yuta, Jeno and Winwin are close.' Mark in question was finally aware of what's happening because he saw the girl flinch as the man screamed again and heard Kun in the ear pin.
'Put your guns to the ground!! Now!' Taeyong put his gun down first, Lucas soon follows and then Mark.
'Push it over.'
The three do as told, knowing the other three are behind the man, in the shadows of the hall and were ready to take him down and save the girl.
Winwin is slowly getting closer to take the man's hand down and turn it in another direction so if he shots it won't go straight through the girl's head. Jeno is also slowly creeping right behind his older brother to take the man down the second he tries something and Yuta...
Oh, Yuta is getting his knifes out to kill the man right on the spot.
All of them hate when innocent people, that have nothing to do with this world of theirs, get injured or even worst, killed, but Yuta hates it the most. He wishes he could torture the people that dare kill the innocents. He wishes he could skin them alive and watch them suffer...

I’m rambling abt NCT. Bear with me.
So, NCT 2020 Resonance Global Wave Beyond Live concert (sheesh, that’s long!) ended about 3 hours ago.
I finally got to sit and think through what I had experienced.
I’ve read through twitter, IG and of course, Tumblr.
I know quite a lot of fans are upset that SM went through with the concert when both Taeyong and Jisung are both unable to participate. And when Jisung was actually able to somewhat participate but Taeyong wasn’t, it ruffled some more feathers.
It is of course, very worrying that Taeyong may be injured/unwell enough to be completely uninvolved in the concert. I would have thought they would try to put in at least a clip of him wishing well to his team.
Then it occured to me that either way, fans won’t be happy. There will still be some that’ll bark that SM is not letting him rest or whatever.
In the end, yes, it would have been better if they could have postponed the concert till next year or whenever. But seriously, there is no promise that no one out of the 23 members will always be completely ok.
They’re a ridiculously large group with multiple members playing dual/multiple roles half the time. One of those members are bound to get tired or injured. I don’t want it to happen but hey, life is horrible and things happen.
(If you can’t already tell, I’m very much a pessimist. I don’t really look at the bright side of things. So excuse my morbid acceptance that people will get sick/ill/injured.)
I mean, at the rate that SM is pushing some of these members, it is not very subtle that the distribution of responsibilities are not even. We definitely see some faces more than others.
if you want to argue that Taeyong is the leader of the group, the backbone, the pillar, the very essence of NCT... I won’t stop you. I feel that way too. But seriously, the leader missing out on one online concert won’t render the team useless.
Taeyong is a great leader. I acknowledge it. And one major thing he has done well as a leader is to ensure the team carries on without their leader.
Watching the concert, I see how the different members who are often labelled the ‘mum’, ‘dad’, or ‘big brother’ of the team step up and lead the group.
Taeyong is NCT’s leader but I will argue he is not NCT’s only leader. We have Taeil and Johnny, both of whom stepped up to look over the members (regardless if it was a forced situation or not). We have Kun, himself the leader of WayV. We have Doyoung (and let’s throw in Jeno), who were in a way the co-captains of their units. We have Mark, lovely Mark, who was the unofficial Dream Leader but made official through Dreamies’ and NCTzens’ sheer will. Even Renjun and Haechan stepped up during the ‘Surprise Live’ to lead the youngsters.
So yeah, it was sad that Taeyong wasn’t in the concert. My heart ached when I didn’t see him performing his parts. But at the same time, I HAVE to admit, I felt so proud that his teammates were able to fill his parts so well.
And before anyone accuse me of saying Taeyong is replaceable, I must enforce that I DON’T. Taeyong is Taeyong, he brings his own charms and charisma to every song he performs. And that was made very obvious in the concert when it felt so blatantly ‘in-your-face’ that he was missing.
BUT. I will not diminish the effort put in by the other members who had to cover his parts. Kudos to them for taking the baton, it must have weighed heavy. I am sure that they are aware of the expectations EVERYONE has for Taeyong. So KUDOS to them for being able to carry that baton and YET, put in their own flair to it.
Apparently, Jeno was required to learn the first bit of ‘Make a Wish’ within an hour in the waiting room. Why? For the love of all things good, we know SM will never explain. But the fact that he did, and he did it WELL (he slayed it of course), KUDOS to him.
Sungchan covered Taeyong’s part in ‘BOSS’. It wasn’t Taeyong’s flair but Sungchan pulled it off with his own style, and just as fine.
Shotaro covered Taeyong’s part in ‘7th Sense’. You can clearly see he was a professional performer even before being part of NCT. He definitely threw in his own flair into that performance.
Yangyang covered Taeyong’s part in ‘Lightbulb’, and boy, he delivered. I watched that performance and I realised how much talent that young man has. It is disappointing he was not given a lot of parts (regardless if it was as WayV or NCT).
Jaehyun covered Taeyong’s part in ‘Kick It’, and of course he did great. We’ve already seen him cover for TY before. Yuta in turn covered Taeyong’s dance break in ‘Kick It’. Similarly, he shined.
Ten carried ‘Baby Don’t Stop’ all by himself! It must have been exhausting, he was performing consecutively from one song to another! He’s another one we must applaud for!
Overall, I feel very grateful towards NCT for being able to put up this concert. Performing in front of a live crowd would have been better but personally, I felt this online stage allowed them to perform/act a little more freely. It felt like a home stage that you put on only for those special to you... a little bit more personal compared to a real-live concert but definitely just as high quality.
I enjoyed the concert, I smiled so much through it. I am going to miss OT23, even more than I missed OT18. When NCT was just 18, I was just getting to know them. Now, they’re a full fledged 23 and counting.
Sungchan and Shotaro fit so well in the group, I forget that they were recent additions. WayV was so very much embraced by the OG NCT members that I forget the unit is only 1 year old (going to 2 soon!)
I love how NCT feels like a family. I am sure every fandom feels the same way about their own artists, but I’ve always felt NCT was different and special because their brand makes them a family of different units. I’ve grown up in a large extended family, and I feel that NCT is just like that. They are friends and yet family, colleagues and yet brothers.
I saw many wishes from NCTzens for the boys. I saw fans putting up placards saying NCT saved 2020. I’ve read many comments thanking NCT for uplifting them and making them feel present and here. I feel so proud that the boys are able to do that.
I may be just one more fan for NCT and I am sure they’re thankful either way. But I really want them to know how thankful I am for them too. They’ve had an extremely busy year, so I hope they get to rest. Not just some rest, but a full complete holistic break that lets their battery recharge.
I know their schedules are probably already packed and overflowing, but I want them to know that if any one of them needs a break from the hectic schedule, they should take that break AND NOT FEEL BAD ABOUT IT.
Self-care is essential:
“Rest and self-care are so important. When you take time to replenish your spirit, it allows you to serve others from the overflow. You cannot serve from an empty vessel.” - Eleanor Brownn
I love this quote and I wish to extend this advice to all 23 members of NCT too.
I am still looking forward to the projects NCT will put out of course. I’m excited to see the unit (new ones?) Sungchan and Shotaro will be in. I’m excited to see Mark back with Dream (*cough cough* rooftop fight?). I definitely want to know what more WayV has in store.
I hope they have a great year ahead but still think of themselves too once in a while.
Don’t worry boys, NCTzens will always be with you. We are the grass field that awaits you at the end of a ‘long ass ride’. Through the seasons, to infinity and beyond. We love you!

Who would prefer a quiet/introverted girl over a friendly/bright one ?
I’m so sorry this took so long to post!  I hope you enjoy it!  💞
Prefers an Introverted and/or Quiet S/O
Winwin - Honestly, I think Winwin might be intimidated by someone who was very extroverted and outgoing. He might be a bit intrigued, but I don’t think it would last very long. He seems to be the type who gets a bit flustered around loud personalities and he doesn’t quite know what to do or say in their presence.
Kun - I think Kun likes taking care of the people he loves and likes being seen as the one “who wears the pants” in the relationship. Because of this, I think he’d prefer someone more introverted who would let him take care of them.  Someone who was quiet but became more talkative and open only with him would rock his world.
Yuta - Yuta is very similar to Johnny. He would be good with either one. However, I think Yuta would be more drawn to quiet people. He would see their quietness as something of a challenge and a mystery he wanted to try to solve.
Xiaojun - He has a pretty quiet personality himself, but for some reason I think he’s drawn more to people with a similar personality. If they were too different or extroverted, I think he’s another member who could be intimidated and uncomfortable.  He would really appreciate someone who can sit in comfortable silence with him.
Doyoung - I think Doyoung would really appreciate and enjoy someone with the same cozy, relaxed energy as him. Someone with too much brightness would drive him crazy. But I do think he’d do well with a sassy introvert - someone who isn’t afraid of teasing him.
Jaemin - I think Jaemin would really like taking care of someone who is more quiet and introverted. He’d also love teasing them about their shyness and trying to get a reaction from them.  His extroverted personality would match best with someone who will let him be his sometimes crazy sometimes cute, flirty self and won’t try to overshadow that part of him.
Renjun - I see Renjun as needing a partner who is more extroverted, but not necessarily loud.  More than anything, I think he likes people who can spar verbally with him (in a teasing, flirty way) and isn’t afraid to say bold things. He might find someone who is too introverted not flirty or sassy enough.
Taeyong - I can see Taeyong with a quiet extrovert (yes, they exist - I’m one of them).  Someone who is too extroverted all the time would drain his energy. But I think he’d be a bit awkward with someone who is too introverted and quiet.  He needs someone who can listen to him but who also isn’t afraid to make the first move in the relationship.
Jungwoo - I sometimes have a hard time answering these kinds of questions for Jungwoo because I feel that there is a lot of himself that he doesn’t show us.  But based on what I have seen, I think he would be drawn to someone more extroverted, but who also becomes shy if the were embarrassed about something. He would find the duality really cute!
Johnny - Johnny was a tough one to place.  I think he could (and would) be fine with either. However, he himself is very outgoing and friendly so someone with that same energy would match well with him. I also think that someone who was too introverted might make him feel too much pressure to be outgoing, confident, and friendly all the time.
Hendery - Similar to Johnny, I think Hendery would be fine with an extrovert or an introvert. But I think his chaotic energy wouldn’t be able to be contained by someone too quiet.  Someone who is friendly and bright would have the capability to kindle his wilder side while still being able to reel it in when needed.
Yangyang - I think Yangyang needs a soft extrovert - someone who is gently friendly and bright.  It’s going to sound strange but someone with a jewel-toned personality would suit him.  Someone who is still approachable, but in a slightly softer way.  Someone extroverted but not aggressive at all.
Chenle - Kind of opposite to Yangyang, I think Chenle needs an extrovert with a neon-colored personality. He needs the spark of someone friendly to catch his attention. I think it’s possible he could overlook someone who is too quiet.  He would be attracted to someone with a somewhat aggressive and bold (but still friendly) approach to life.
Mark - While Mark isn’t quiet, I do think he’s quite shy. A lot of times when he says funny things, I think it’s because he feels nervous about having to speak at all. He needs a partner who can see beyond his awkwardness and who will talk so that Mark doesn’t need to (I hope that makes sense - I can’t quite write what’s in my head for Mark).
Lucas - Lucas needs someone who is very confident and friendly. He has such a big personality himself that he could easily overshadow someone who is pretty quiet and introverted.  Someone who is friendly, approachable, sassy, and flirty would really catch his attention.
Taeil - I think Taeil would feed off someone who is more extroverted. It would make him feel like he could really let loose and be his self with them.  I think he’s one of the (fairly) quiet extroverts I mentioned above and would do well with someone with a bright and friendly personality - someone who isn’t afraid to be goofy with him.
Ten - Ten needs a partner who will keep up with his quirky, artsy personality and who can keep up with his sly, sexually laced banter. I do think Ten can get into his own head at times and I think he wants someone who can drag him out of that space by cracking jokes or being silly when he needs it.
Haechan - Haechan is so bold, sassy, and expressive that I think he could walk all over someone who was introverted (not to say he will - it’s just a possibility that it will happen unintentionally).  He really likes the give and take in conversations and someone too quiet could try his patience.  Even his shy, quiet side would be better matched with someone who is extroverted.
Jeno - He’s so shy that he absolutely needs someone more outgoing and friendly. I really think he’s drawn to people who are approachable and with whom he can talk about anything - even from the first time they meet. Someone with a bright and friendly personality would put him at ease and make him relax a bit more.
Jaehyun - I see Jaehyun as another one of those quiet extroverts. He doesn’t need to be the center of attention and is fine listening rather than talking. Because of this, I think he is drawn to more outgoing and bright people. He would be intrigued by someone with a bright, flirty personality.
Prefers an Extroverted and/or Friendly and Bright S/O
