I have also read a good girls guide to murder really liked liked it I haven’t read the third one because I got a lot of spoilers for it and just at the time was not emotional ready to read it maybe will soon but it’s not at the top of my very long tbr

But I do really love ya murder mystery books and have read a good amount of them

I just read AGGGTM, (I literally finished the last book on Sunday) so it is right on my mind. But I absolutely loved that series; it's definitely going in my top/favorite series list.

One thing I liked about it was that there wasn't really much "plot" aside from solving the murder. When I read a book about a teenage girl solving a murder mystery, I don't want to read about her high school life with solving a murder in the background. I want to read about all the nitty-gritty details of the case and her interviews and whatnot.

AGGGTM perfectly satisfied that itch in my brain that I hadn't known existed, and I will definitely be reading more YA mystery/thrillers. I've read One of Us is Lying and the sequel but not anymore that I can think of; do you have any recommendations?

But as for the third book, yes, if you are not emotionally ready for it, you should probably wait. That book is insane. I personally really liked the dark, gritty turn it took but definitely look up trigger warnings because there are a lot.

Those books were so much fun, and I'm kind of still processing the last book but I can't wait to talk with more people about it. (Already trying to get my sister to read at least the first book so I can talk with an IRL person about it). But yes! I would highly recommend that series to anyone looking for a brilliant murder mystery series, but definitely look up warnings beforehand (especially for the last book). It helped fill about a week of the reading void before KOTLC 10 for me, and I'll definitely be looking for more books like it.

Time to swap out stressed scientist that’s lacking in the sanity and sleep departments for the author with too many stories in her head and a hobby of killing off loved characters for fun and debating philosophy at 3am running on too much coffee and too little sleep

a little irked to realize, in making my comprehensive all-the-books-i’ve-ever-read-in-my-whole-life book database, that in nearly 24 years i haven’t read even a thousand books... and more irked because i’m realizing that it’s due to the fact that i RE-READ THE SAME BOOKS over and over and over and over and over again as a kid so i spent like 12 years or something wasting my time reading the same beloved favorites over and over instead of venturing into new territory and covering new ground smh. Younger me, what were you thinking girlfriend?

Book I was most excited to read, and it was EVERYTHING with so much AHHHHHH moments: House of Sky & Breath (Crescent City 2)

New series to me where I am now obsessed: The Black Witch Chronicles

Old series that had a new book come out that made me so happy: Stellarlune (Keeper of the Lost Cities 9)

Adult contemporary that I think EVERYONE should read because it is GOOD and teaches: True Biz

YA novel that is PHENOM and I’m sad it hasn’t become more well known: We Deserve Monuments

Favorite middle grades book: Amari & The Great Game, which is a sequel to Amari & The Night Brothers

Favorite romance: The Dead Romantics

Best nonfiction that will change your life: How To Keep House While Drowning

Mystery / Thriller that was good enough that my husband even read it: We Are All The Same In The Dark

Best audiobook: The Atlas Six — full cast recording with such distinct personalities.

Favorite author who released a new book and it did NOT disappoint me: Gallant (Victoria Schwab, though her TV show did disappoint 🤣)
