I finished it! I took the green quilt out on a little adventure today before it goes off to it’s new home tomorrow!

I’m sooo happy with the way this came out. I’m really glad I took the time to start over with the quilting. I think the end product shines 🧡💚

Made a quilt for a friend. I was worried it would turn out tacky while I was piecing it, but quilting really is the final touch; the right texture made it more neat and elegant. I also learned that I have been cheating myself with cotton batting -- this was my first time working with wool and it was luxurious. 1/3 inch loft gave it a real duvet feel.

A great internet friend of mine (who I commission often) was in the process of drawing me a very cute turnfin sticker to put on the back windshield of my car, but is currently sick and had to cancel all their projects :(

Don’t know the severity of the sickness, but they haven’t answered any of my direct messages/texts in over 4 months. I’m getting real worried, so I decided to make them a quilt anonymously through their fan-gift po box in hopes that they will recover soon. Thought I’d share! For Tica

Blackwater Dive

2024, hand bleached and dyed denim, cotton batting and thread

inspired by blackwater photography of plankton! this was my first time layering bleach painting. All the silhouettes were painted with bleaching gel, loosely tie dyed, and then bleached again to make the highlights. I quilted the piece using my free motion foot to outline each individual animal and tacked down the rest of the quilt with small satin stitches that remind me of marine snow. I dyed bias tape to match. super happy with this one and excited to show it in a gallery setting soon!
