Ok! It feels only necessary to explain this blogs name.
So, the novel I'm currently writing is called 'Dear You'
In this story is a character known as Mi, which is an OC I've been using to write for the last 8 years or so.
Her name was originally Miso, and came from my first ever attempt at writing a story, called 'Dear Mi' Obviously I've reused the title, it's a good sounding title and I didn't want it to go to waste.
Either way, Dear Mi was about Miso moving to a new city and school on account of her dad's work. It does the whole typical slice of life thing, going to a new school, making a new friend group, dealing with bullies, finding yourself, etc. The only real interesting part about it is that Miso had an imaginary friend that she would often talk to. This dialogue would act as a display of introspections, thought, and what not, because the imaginary friend didn't really speak. It acts just as a wall that can listen, a silent Grecian chorus if you will. Yet, throughout the story, it becomes more active.
Most would assume that it would symbolize everything she still holds onto that's holding her back, but it's actually the inverse. It's suppose to represent all the ways she's grown, and remind her of her own journey.
The next story Miso featured in didn't have a name. This time, she couldn't actually see color in the world, everything was black and white manga style. She did still have that imaginary friend, and she could see one that everyone else had, that they didn't know they had. Whenever she interacted with someone and their imaginary friend, the world around that person would gain its color. So she goes around painting the place by reminding people of their own story.
After that was another piece known as 'Tellings of the Sky' The world was again, still black and white. However, the sky was different. It not only had color, it could change color, and even change shape. The imaginary friend is gone, and so is everyone else. It's completely desolate of all other sentient life.
This story follows two characters though, Miso, and a boy I never got around to naming. They both live in their own world like this, and the story is written through diary logs of the two as they explore the world. Eventually, however, what one person writes shows up in the journal of the other, and the two start to interact across worlds. A whole bunch of weird reality shenanigans happens, and the story ends with the two worlds merging.
I've written a couple poems about her, one called 'For Whom the Bells Toll' and 'Buttercups' and this all wraps around to 'Dear You'
In 'Dear You' however, Miso isn't even the main character. I changed her name to Mi, and gave her a younger brother aptly named So. Miso's age changed very much across the stories I'd written about her, and this time her and her brother are on the younger side.
Within the prologue of 'Dear You' Mi and So meet the main character, and are essentially adopted by them.
The main character does have a name, but goes nameless until after the underground arc of the story. Within 'Dear You' Mi also plays a much more prevalent part in the story than her brother, and that's probably me just projecting my favor but eh, it's fine. If I really wanted to I could just bring Miso back entirely, but So does have his own arcs and everything already, I'm just not as much invested into him as character. That'll change as the story develops, but for the time being Mi, the outcome of Miso, is still just where a lot of my focus has gone.

The Roulacase Family
In a future where Finral and Finesse end up together, they also both want to start a family. Despite Finesse's weak constitution, she has enough strength to bring two children in the world: Caelum and Raphael.
..........
Caelum Roulacase
Tumblr media Tumblr media
His name means "sky, heaven" in Latin but is also the name of the chisel constellation. He's called Cal by his family and friends.
Age: 18
Birthday: May 30
Magic Attribute: Star.
Appearance: Caelum's hair is dark brown like his mother's although he ends up styling it similarly to Finral's. He lets it grow out a little when he's older but it never reaches past his shoulders. His eyes are dark purple like Finesse's as well.
Personality: Caelum sees the world as neither inherently good or evil; good and bad things can happen to good and bad people. Whether it's fair or not isn't something that Caelum has figured out. Thus, he wants to be the good in the world at least. He treats people chivalrously but will withhold respect and trust from those who show themselves to be unkind. Caelum is courageous; he doesn't seek out trouble but he's not one to back down from the unknown or intimidating. Even when he is afraid, he pushes himself to face his fears because he knows he can trust in himself/his loved ones to get through it. Caelum seeks to improve himself, being hard-working and preferring to see his efforts through to the end. He can still be overwhelmed and knows when to quit to try another day. Caelum is too gentle at times. He'd rather endanger himself in a fight than hit too hard. And he might hide the truth to spare feelings only to cause misunderstandings. Caelum can also be self-sacrificing in regards to his own wants. He wants to make other people happy first and can wait for his own happiness, that's what he says. Caelum also has a slight fear of romance. He's heard about his father's past and doesn't want to end up like that so he just avoids romance altogether (sort of).
Caelum is good friends with Aecor. They're considered top candidates as future Magic Knight Captains and the public tend to portray them as rivals but they don't see each other that way. His actual rival is Avery; they can't agree on anything whatsoever and despite how calm both of them usually are, they set each other off. He and Cynthia are friends and have been mistaken as a couple, to their great displeasure. He goes to Sterling for advice often and though she can be mysterious at times, she always does help. Caelum's closest friend however is Dawn; he admires her and worries about her too and he... he hopes to see her smile everyday for the rest of his life.
Caelum joins the Golden Dawn squad once he's a Magic Knight. Between his father's and uncle's squads, he actually felt more drawn to the Golden Dawn.
It's through Asta's connections that Caelum gets a chance to learn how to use Star Magic from Yuno. Caelum appreciates Yuno's help and Yuno thinks Cal is a great student.
Caelum has a temporary position in Spade military. It’s a special arrangement for when he visits to train under Yuno.
Caelum got his ears pierced because Dawn wanted to but was nervous about the pain. He insisted he'd get his ears pierced to show her it'd be okay and found out he liked the look of them.
Caelum is really good with styling hair. The Faust girls will sometimes ask for his help with putting in hair ribbons.
Raphael Roulacse
Tumblr media Tumblr media
His name has the meaning of "God has healed." His nickname is Raph.
Age: 15
Birthday: October 12
Magic Attribute: Spatial.
Appearance: Raphael's hair is a light, tawny brown color, similar to Finral's though not exact. It gets a little darker as he grows up. When he was younger, he didn't bother to cut his hair so he'd wear it in a low ponytail. He eventually cuts it though. His eyes are a lighter purple like Finral's too.
Personality: Like his parents and brother, Raphael is a kind-hearted person. He's already been blessed with a good life so he enjoys helping others and seeing their lives improved. He's a realist, always wary of getting his hopes too high or sinking too deep into negativity. He’s learned that those extremes can lead to disappointment or bitterness. His approach to live is overall light-hearted, as life for him is usually peaceful. He doesn’t always manage to take things easy but it’s his ideal in life. Raphael is studious as well, being of the belief that knowledge is power. He doesn't flaunt his knowledge either and chooses to only bring up what he knows when he deems it relevant; know-it-alls aren't endearing in his eyes. He's also an overthinker/worrywart and can explode with stress when pushed. He also really doesn't appreciate troublemakers like Soleil and Skylar or reckless individuals (with Ann being the one exception as she isn't completely chaotic).
Ann is his best friend in the whole world and he would go to the ends of the earth for her. Chalivas is a close second. Naru has a deep admiration for Raphael since "big bro Raph can do anything!" and Raphael feels so honored to be his role model. He appreciates Elana for helping wrangle Skylar sometimes but can also find her cheekiness bothersome. He and Kohaku are friendly though with a slight teacher-student dynamic. He and Vivian consider themselves friends too, though mostly thanks to their siblings and them being more sensible than them. Like Ann, he cannot stand Skylar, Soleil, and Jill. He's a little more scared of Skylar and Jill than Ann is but he can't abide by their mischievous attitudes.
When Raphael joins the Magic Knights, he becomes a Purple Orca alongside Ann.
Reading so much put a strain on his eyes and so Raphael has to wear glasses in the future.
Raphael is considered a great prodigy because his Spatial Magic functions for transport, attacking, and even healing (though only after he gets his grimoire). He doesn't like the praise though. He's just glad he doesn't completely overshadow Caelum.
Langris teaches Raphael how to use offensive Spatial Magic. Raphael is glad that Finral and Langris' relationship improved, allowing him to know and learn from his uncle.
Once believed he had a crush on Sterling but eventually realized it was admiration. He eventually comes out as aro-ace.

will you explain abput dragon gender culture then?
Ohhhhh this is gonna be a long one. like. super duper long.
So! brief premise you can skip this first paragraph if you want. We keep going back and forth as to whether or not dragons are shapeshifters. On one hand, we love a big beefy slightly cartoony dragon (think how the spyro dragons are very...could be a human in a suit). On the other hand, I'm worried I want them to be too big to realistically date a human sized elf, so then there's the option of shapeshifting from Big Monster Dragon to a more human sized guy with wings, possibly as a magical evolutionary advantage to try and lure monkey shaped prey into thinking they're friendly and then. eat them. Im currently leaning towards this but we do go back and forth. It doesn't have a HUGE effect on like society but that's just kinda background
Cultural variation disclaimer:
so to start with, this is largely focused on the mountain dragons, where there is the largest population center. There are some cultural differences for different groups, such as the ocean cave dragons, but there are similarities across the species. Dragons are very community based, they have a strong social connection (contrary to popular belief that they're solitary creatures), which is necessary for living in such a dense population center. There are private caves, as individuals or families might want their space, and these caves can be inherited, but most spaces (eating, bathing, working, etc) are shared.
Division of labor:
most labor is divided along gender lines, which means that there are fairly rigid gender roles enforced socially. This, combined with somewhat prevalent sexual dimorphism, does make it hard for any trans dragons, since there's a belief that biology is a big part of why gender roles are so rigid, but if someone can prove that they can work just as efficiently as anyone of the 'opposite' gender, then they generally get accepted by society (after a period of mostly friendly teasing - dragons are big on making fun of each other, and often have nicknames based on physical characteristics that could be seen as mean by outsiders, but they're not actually malicious. if you can prove yourself and withstand the teasing, then you're usually fine)
Women are mostly hunters/warriors, as dragons are primarily carnivores. Hunting is considered woman's work because female dragons tend to be smaller and more agile, better at flying and taking off from low elevations (compared to males who are larger and can't maneuver as well, and who tend to be better at gliding long distances but not taking off from flat plains). Dragons don't do any animal husbandry; instead they focus on land management with complex hunting techniques, ensuring that they're managing their game populations effectively to ensure food sources later on. Dragons are fiercely territorial, because any intrusion into their hunting grounds can upset this careful management and even a few extra hunters could affect the larger population. Most intruders don't get anywhere near the central mountains, and only see the hunters, which is why dragons are generally considered to be loners. These hunters chase off any intruders they can on their own, and recruit help from nearby hunters if they need to, but they can withdraw and mount a more organized attack with proper troops if their intruder is particularly stubborn.
Men tend to be more focused on the home, family, and community, and so they're more likely to have jobs based around that. The dragons do have a king, who oversees all general operation of the mountain and makes big decisions, and the tradition is that he chooses a successor, often a younger advisor, a son, or just a mentee that has been trained to handle the stress and complexity of the job. However, in peace times, the king doesn't have the kind of power that humans might associate with the title and it truly is more administrative than a ruling position, and any departments that he oversees can (and will) question or straight up ignore any decision that they don't see the merit of. If a king is shitty and doesn't step down (like he should), then basically the community picks a new king and they shun the old one (social exclusion is pretty much the biggest punishment that anyone faces, although banishment could happen if someone REALLY did a big bad). Kings do tend to have a bit more power during war, because it does help to have someone to make executive decisions, but again those tend to be focused on making hard decisions at home, such as food rationing and distribution of labor (like drafting certain dragons into certain positions based on skill, even if that individual might not want to do that job). Another time that a king might have increased power is during a pandemic, because dragons have limited space and high population density and a pandemic could ruin them.
Men tend to make up a lot of the more formal government at home because of the emphasis on their organization and level headedness; this includes things like food distribution, sanitation, and any formal education (although most education is social/specialized for certain jobs so education is combined with babysitting services). The 'biological' explanation for this is that they're larger and not as quick but more intimidating, which is useful for protecting/defending children. However this is an evolutionary theory used as an excuse to enforce gender roles, since most men will never have to defend their nest from intruders.
Gender and Sexuality:
More socially, men are usually considered to be emotionally softer, less confrontational, very paternal and family oriented. They're considered to be more into mediation and talking things through rather than fighting about it, which is why they have such extensive control in government and at home. They're more likely to start crying (although dragons don't actually cry, instead they manifest their emotions through their magic - sadness appears as rain, anger as fire/heat. the concept of a 'fire breathing dragon' is a bit of a misconception, made by those who accidentally trespass on dragon territory. They see an angry hunter bearing down on them, roaring with fire appearing, and assume that she's breathing fire, but really she's just pissed off). Women, on the other hand, are considered to be more angry, quick to snap and fight out their feelings, rather than thinking things through. Again, these are all gender roles that are socially enforced, similar to the way human gender roles are, not biologically determined traits.
Most dragons are generally all polyamorous and bisexual, creating large family units from a group of sexually mature adults. These romantic groups, called nests, are fairly loose, and frequently change as individuals' relationships to the others in the group change. Partners within a group are called 'nesties' (which is much more romantic in draconic than it is in human). Some individuals might form particularly strong attachments to one or two others, so that they will be particularly close with those nesties, and they could leave one nest or join another together. Because the romantic/parental unit is so large and fluctuating, children have two 'family' names to ensure that they don't commit incest: each dragon has a spring name, based on which hot spring their egg was incubated in (more on this later), and a paternal name that they get from their biological father. Any romantic/sexual relationship with someone sharing either their paternal name or their spring name is considered incestuous, but anyone with different names is okay.
Nests are usually at least 4-5 individuals (although they're often larger) with ideally more women than men. The idea behind this is that you only need one or two men to care for children, but you need multiple women to provide enough for everyone in a family to eat. There is a communal food bank, and every hunter has to contribute to it, so that single men or families whose hunters can't provide for some reason won't starve, but if someone relies entirely on the food bank they're usually pitied or scorned, depending on the situation (if a nest is relying on the food bank due to a recent death, illness, or injury of their main hunter(s), then they're pitied, if a nest is unbalanced, they're often gently bullied until they balance the group out).
It’s rare for dragons to love exclusively one gender, and often frowned upon because of this familial ideal of larger groups. A large group of exclusively male dragons doesn’t have anyone to provide for them (or any children they might want to have), a group of only women is seen as incapable of having children (who would take care of them?) and exclusive couples are considered impractical (what if something happens to one of you - if the woman can’t hunt then the man and their child will starve, if the man gets hurt then the child is vulnerable). There are dragons who are exclusively gay, lesbian, or heterosexual, but these individuals often participate in larger groups anyway - just because you’re part of a nest with 7 other dragons doesn’t mean you have to fuck all of them, after all. Exclusive attraction is generally frowned upon anyway though, because it can destabilize the group dynamic if you don’t communicate well enough with your nesties, although most dragons with exclusive attractions form nests with others who also share that - so gays, lesbians, and hets might all be in one group, and they just understand who has which preferences, rather than the bisexual free for all in an ‘ideal nest’.
The reason why exclusive attraction is frowned upon is that it’s impractical for having a family, and having a family is considered the most important thing anyone could do. Children are precious, and being able to have lots of them is a sign of good social standing (which is the closest thing that they might have to wealth, since dragons share most resources).
Reproduction:
Dragons hatch from eggs, and, like fish, they lay eggs that haven't been fertilized. They fertilize these eggs after they've been laid, which allows for tight population management. There is a collection of hot springs in the mountain, and women lay their eggs in these hot springs to keep them warm and to incubate them before hatching. This way, there's always a cycle of eggs available for fertilization at any time. A woman lays her eggs in the same spring that her egg came from, meaning that springs keep track of maternal lines.
It's possible for two dragons to mate and fertilize the egg internally, and like three toed skinks, they can even do live birth depending on the situation, but this is generally avoided: keeping the eggs inside is dangerous for the mother's health and gets more dangerous the longer she waits. Reproducing this way isn't illegal, but it is frowned upon, because the dragons have such limited space and resources, too many unplanned babies can destabilize society. This kind of birth is extremely rare, and mostly happens when dragons don’t have access to hot springs to incubate the eggs, instead relying on the mother’s warmth. It mostly happens if dragons are traveling for long periods of time, or otherwise cut off from society.
The way that most dragons have babies is applying for one. The committee in charge of granting children is made up of mostly women, because men are considered too emotional for the job - they would have a hard time discarding any eggs, even if the eggs were too old to be viable, or had some kind of obvious defect to also make them non-viable. In order to be approved, the committee considers the current population, the makeup of the nest and its ability to provide for children, and anything that might be affecting the general resources of the mountain (such as war, drought, natural disaster, etc). This committee is also in charge of protecting children once they’re hatched, meaning that if a nest or parent is mistreating or neglecting a child, then the committee can take it away from them and find a new family. However, this is very rare. Children are very important for dragons, and having lots of children is the highest form of social currency.
If approved, the committee chooses an egg from a spring, ensuring that the population has roughly equal numbers from each of the springs (to promote genetic diversity). Then they use sperm from the father (chosen by the nest applying for a child) and inseminate one of these eggs, and when the baby hatches, the nest takes it home with them.
Art, Religion, Misc:
Dragons are not particularly religious, but they venerate water. Their eggs are incubated in water, and their stories say that they came from the ocean (scientists believe that this is probably true, dragons may have originally evolved as some type of sea monster, using human shaped transformations to lure tasty prey into the depths, but there’s some disagreement here - while it’s not unreasonable to hypothesize that wings evolved from some kind of flipper, wings combined with limbs doesn’t seem to make sense. The dragon scientific community is split). Dragons often make a pilgrimage to the ocean at least once in their lives, particularly for special events. Dragons don’t have marriage, but if there is a couple or group or even an entire nest that is particularly devoted to each other, they often go to the ocean together and find a water nymph to give them good luck. This is really hard actually because water nymphs are fairly rare, so if they can find a hermit or a mystic dragon with a special relationship to water, that works too.
I mentioned stories, dragons are huge storytellers. They have long oral histories, and most of their education system is done through story. If we’ve decided that dragons are shapeshifters, then they have two forms of draconic: old or high draconic, which they speak when they’re in full big beast form, and more common draconic, which they speak while shifted into more human shape. Humans and elves can’t really speak old draconic because they don’t have the mouth shape for it, and they don’t quite have the mouth shape for low draconic either but that’s much easier to approximate. There are stories and poetry in both forms of language.
Dragon visual art takes many forms, and I haven’t fully thought about it, so this section might be slightly disappointing lmao but here we go. On one hand there’s metalworking: dragons are rich in metal and gem stones that they dig out as they expand their caves, and they often use metal as accessories (even though dragons don’t really wear clothes). They might make sharper claw attachments or small bits of armor, but fine detail work can be difficult. The best way for dragons to manipulate such fine work is through their fire magic, which, if honed properly, can be controlled to create fine details, but! Considering that their magic is mostly tied to their emotions, artists have to figure out how to fine tune their own emotions (specifically their anger) and control them while creating pieces of metal art. Therefore pieces of metal art aren’t just pretty to look at, they’re a product of someone channeling various intensities of rage just to create something beautiful. Is this anything? I just came up with this but it sounds cool as hell
Dragons also like fun colors, they can create pigments from the rock that they mine and use it to paint their bodies. There’s a meditative/religious aspect to this, because they are combining rock (their home) with water (their origins) as a way to make themselves more beautiful, but the beauty doesn’t last, so there’s something about beauty and life both being temporary. There are definitely certain designs and practices that are particularly sacred or for special occasions, but also some dragons just paint themselves because it looks cool.
One thing that dragons don’t have a lot of is textiles, because they don’t do animal or plant husbandry. They can cure furs, but they don’t really...need to, because they don’t wear clothes and don’t strictly need fabrics, so they haven’t quite figured out how to make this work for them. Most textiles come from trade or more often loot (whether taken from invaders or simply...stolen from humans on the border because fuck humans), and are highly valued as decorations or to make cozy nests for their babies. Textiles are one of the few material goods that demonstrate a dragon’s wealth, and can be traded within the caves for any kind of extra material support, or given as gifts to build up social standing.
Relationship to elves: dragons and elves are historical enemies. Elves are the most competent and able to actually fight/hurt dragons, and dragons...eat elves. So they fight each other a lot. In most of the plot the elves and dragons are actively at war, so there aren’t many babies (all the women are out fighting and the remaining hunters can’t feed both the men AND babies). However, they have to try and negotiate a peace because it turns out, if you ignore humans for too long, it doesn’t matter that humans are small and short lived and fairly weak. Humans are inventive and they can breed really fast (unlike the elves who have a very hard time conceiving), so they start to threaten BOTH dragon and elf territories. So they have to stop fighting each other and team up to fight humans and maybe some of them...fall in love with each other? anyway that’s basically the plot
I thiiiiink that’s it? I think that’s the bulk of stuff? Am I forgetting anything? Dragon dicks are like an alligator’s, they’re always erect but they have like. a little dick pocket. that they can open up and the dick slides out. that’s the only thing I think I’ve left out thanks for sticking with me this long okay bye

Children of the dragon
Warnings: Incest, violence
Pairing: Aegon ii Targaryen × Targ oc
1.09
Beads of sweat drip down your back as you try to push the cries of a mother mourning her babe that plagued your dreams into the back of your mind. Two days have passed since you arrived at Dragonstone—two long days without hearing anything from Aegon, leaving you mentally exhausted while the strain of your due date creeping up on you was physically draining, although you would never complain out loud given the circumstances.
After holding a funeral for her stillborn daughter Visenya, Rhaenyra was crowned queen with the same crown that belonged to your late father.
Guilt bubbles in your chest as you cradle your bump, feeling the smooth velvet material beneath your fingers. The dark purple dress was a gift for Rhaenyra, made to fit her during the last term of pregnancy, but as she would no longer need it and you came without any clothes, she insisted you wear it along with her other gowns made to fit a swollen stomach.
You hold your head high while stepping up to the carved table in the shape of Westeros, engraved with its major cities, castles, and landmarks. The painted table was surrounded by the black council, consisting of your uncle Daemon, Corlys Velaryon and his wife Princess Rhaenys, Rhaenyra’s two oldest sons, Ser Erryk Cargyll and Ser Lorent Marbrand. Even with smaller numbers during this meeting as the other lords and bannermen weren’t in attendance, you found it intimidating to talk in front of them; you felt judged for who your lover, husband, mother, and grandsire were. While some tried to think of a way to prevent your brother from being crowned, it was suggested by Jacaerys to focus on the aftermath instead. As it was unlikely there would be any way to stop the inevitable.
Your mouth runs dry as you step forward to counter what Daemon had just said: during his assessment of the biggest risks, he had put your mother's sworn protector far too low down on the list. “Ser Criston Cole is no fool uncle, and he will have no boundaries. He will not hesitate to shed blood first, and because of this, I don’t believe it will take long for him to become my brother's hand.”
“And you’re sure of this?” Lord Corlys asks, “Aemond will make Ser Criston the hand of the king if he is crowned?”
“My guess is Aemond will keep my grandsire as hand of the king for a week at the longest to please our mother, but he will grow frustrated with his strategizing and replace him with Cole. Both hands will be a threat equally, but attack differently.”
“In what way?” The fierceness in Rhaenyra’s voice was almost scary.
“My grandsire will find alliance in any enemy you have ever made, while Cole will look for another approach, a deadlier one.” You glance at your nephews, not wanting to continue in front of them. What you wanted to say next would most definitely scare them, and that was not your intention.
“Luke go check on your brothers, Rhaena, and Baela. They should be in the nursery and attending their lessons,” Rhaenyra says softly.
When your nephew is out of earshot, you say, “The main difference is the target.” Daemon slams his fists against the table, giving you a fright. Gulping, you nervously continue. “My grandsire will aim to take out the biggest threat first, which is our queen, Rhaenyra. He won’t feed into Aemond’s desire for revenge, but Cole will. Their goal will be to tear the blacks apart; I believe the first act of war will be on the children.”
A roar of outrage fills the room as Rhaenys and Corlys both argue against such a horrid suggestion. You understood; they had both lost their children and desperately wanted to keep their grandchildren safe. Rhaenyra stares ahead blankly, looking lost in thought; it probably never occurred to her that her former best friend's children would try to kill her own. Surprisingly, it’s Daemon who steps in to defend you, “the princess has some insight on which we do not; perhaps we best let her speak freely.”
You give him a curt nod, thanking him without actually saying the words. “There is a fishing village below the Dragonmont, with men coming and going at all hours. All it takes is one man to slip undetected for blood to start spilling.”
“Who do you think Aemond and Ser Criston will target first?” Jacaerys asks.
“My daughters, Alyssa and Alina, then Prince Lucery. Aemond still believes he is owed a debt for losing his eye.” The room falls silent as fear sets in. Hoping to lighten the mood slightly, you change the subject. “As of now, the Greens only have one dragon, Vhagar. Truthfully, I’m unsure where my brother Daeron’s loyalties will be, but both he and his dragon Tessarion are currently in Oldtown. Dreamfyre is no threat, as my sweet sister Helena would never-” You stop talking when the slight pain in your back and lower abdomen begins to intensify. Rhaenyra immediately rushes to your side, but you try to dismiss her as she calls for the maester. “I am a fine sister, truly.”
“You need to rest.”
“I will do no such thing; I cannot rest while you plan a war that I’m partly to blame for.”
“Leave us,” Rhaenyra says, addressing everyone in the room. When the room is empty, she takes your hand in hers and says, “I know how lonely life in the keep can be. I understand why you turned to Aegon for comfort.”
“It’s more than that, Rhaenyra. I feel as if the gods themselves are looking down on us and giving us their blessing when I’m with him. I’ve always loved him; Aegon is the other half of me.”
Rhaenyra wipes away the tears rolling down your cheeks. Softly, she says, “Then it couldn’t possibly be wrong, dear girl.”
“I just never thought the consequences of our actions would be so dire.”
“You are not to blame for this war,” Rhaenyra says, pressing a soft kiss to your forehead. You feel a sense of motherly love coming from her that you never felt was given from your own. “The greens would have usurped me regardless; the only ones to blame are Otto and Alicent. I swear to you now that no harm will come to you, Aegon, or Helena. And I will protect your children as if they were my own.”
“Thank you,” you sniff. It had already been discussed many times what should happen when Aegon eventually arrives on Dragonstone, as he did steal his own sister's crown. However, Rhaenyra understood the difficult position he was forced into, and as long as he bent the knee to her, he would be welcome among the blacks.
“Perhaps it won’t come to war.”
The hopefulness in her voice made you smile slightly. “Aemond is just as spiteful as he is proud. He’s going to stop at nothing to try and sit on the iron throne, but luckily for the people of Westeros, that’s not going to happen. We already have our queen.”
Frustrated, you rub at your eyes, trying to fully wake yourself up. On Rhaenyra’s orders, you were to rest for the remainder of the day, which you grudgingly agreed to.
A handmaiden filled you a bath with the finest-smelling oils, leaving your hair and body feeling extremely soft to the touch. It was supposed to help expecting mothers relax. Afterwards, you tried to sleep but kept tossing and turning. Something was nagging at you, but you couldn’t place the feeling. Sighing, you fluff your pillow before resting your head against it, trying to sleep.
“Do you ever have other dreams?”
“Yes, I had a vision of our nephew Jace dying.”
“I definitely don't want Aeron interacting with bastards.”
“Your fight with the Velaryon boys is not mine, and it's definitely not my children's.”
Letting out a gasp, you leap forward when you suddenly feel as if you’re falling from a great height. Your eyes are fixated on the sky above, and you observe clouds gathering in the distance through the small window. I'm in the sky, surrounded by clouds. The sun is shining down on me, and then it disappears. Your own words echo in your mind, and then the realization dawns on you. An eye for an eye, a son for a son. You had it wrong all along; it was never Jace you saw in your dreams; it was Luke.
You grab the gray long coat that was hanging over the back of a chair, using it to keep yourself decent since you didn’t have time to change from the thin nightdress you wore. Swinging the door open so suddenly, the knight who was posted outside it asked, “Where is Prince Lucery?”
“He’s gone to Storm's End as an envoy for the queen.”
“On dragon's back?”
The knight looks slightly concerned by your questioning but nods.
You start to run down the hallway as fast as your heavy body will allow, ignoring the knight calling after you. “Let my sister know I had to leave at once and that the children are in danger!”
“Princess! Princess!”
Somehow you managed to make it to Dallax without being detected; the last thing you needed was someone stopping you from leaving. If you had tried to explain your dream to your sister and uncle, they would have thought of you as mad. You didn’t know if they believed that some Targaryens saw visions in their dreams or not, and you didn’t have time to find out.
You searched the sky, hoping to spot your nephew before he reached Storm's End, but you feared you might have been too late. You weren’t sure what your dream meant other than that you needed to find him quickly. As if the gods were answering your silent prayer, you hear wings flapping in the distance. Dallax flies in the direction of the noise, and you spot Arrax below.
As you descend towards Lucerys, he looks up and screams, “He’s coming!”
You’re confused by what he means until a dark shadow clouds over you. Vhagar. Aemond shouts a slur of commands and insults in High Valyrian, but with the wind ringing in your ears, it was hard to fully understand. He was chasing the young prince on a dragon that was three times larger than Arrax, which was just a baby dragon in comparison. It was sickening. Aemond only turns his attention away from the young boy when he notices you. Vhagar swiftly changes direction and comes straight for you, jaws still open.
“May the mother have mercy on us all.”
A loud roar rips through the air as Sunfyre swipes at the older and much larger dragon. You catch a glimpse of Aegon with Aeron strapped to his chest, and panic sets in. Your precious son was caught up in this, and you couldn’t bear to lose him.
You were so caught up staring at Aegon and your son that you almost didn’t notice Aemond charging at Luke through the air again.
“Aemond no!” You scream as you watch Vhagar’s jaws about to close around Arrax, “Dracarys!” Dallax breathes fire in the direction of Aemond, your brother… your husband. There's no going back now. You could not undo what had been done. “Lucerys, go!”
Before Vhagar has a chance to attack you in return, Sunfyre claws at her face, causing the dragon to let out a roar that was so loud you were sure the people in King's Landing would have heard it. You watch helplessly as the two dragons claw and bite at each other. “Aemond stop!” You beg, knowing which dragon would win if this continued, “Please just stop-ahh!”
You scream as shooting pains travel between your lower back and pelvis. Through tear-hazed eyes, you watch as a third dragon joins the fighting. Lucerys never left. Despite both riders' best efforts, neither of them were a match for Aemond and Vhagar, whose full attention was now on you.
“Dracarys!”
You’re unsure of what happens next as it happens so fast, but you cry out in anguish as Dallax crashes into the sea, while above, Vhagar bites down on Arrax before turning her attention to Sunfyre.

My Hazbin Archangels;
Asks about them are more than Welcome
These are very developed OCs so at this point I need to make masterpost for how my interpretation of them works
Listing I'm using is;
Lucifer, Michael, Raphael, Uriel, Gabriel, Jophiel, Zadkiel |__________________| |___________| |__________________| ^ ^ ^ Elder Sister syndrome, Forgotten middle children, family babies
I don't include Azrael mostly cause weirdly intense and underappreciated job are covered by Michael and Lucifer and I feel it would undermine both of their supposed isolation, you can only have so many outcasts and loners in a group of seven that are also a team.
Yes I did make up all the titles based vaguely on translations and mythological roles, it felt weird for just Luci to have something like "the morningstar"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Originally called Angels of Creation or Heirs of the Almighty; they were uniquely Imbued with powers of Creation and raised as His own offspring. (He kinda had to there was nothing else)
Each was hatched in tandem with a realm they were charged with overseeing the development of; in line with the Seven Days of Creation.
Later these seven were named the Archangels and designated the highest authorities within Heaven; however most their duties are distant from the rest of Heaven's hierarchy, the most involved they get is in delivering commands, as God is rarely willing to talk to anyone other than them.
While they were all hatched over the course of a single week, the order was still very important as it defined the chain of command; so much so that the oldest two were called twins just cause they were equal in power. (practically speaking, they're all septuplets)
They all call each other brother, only three have genders, only two are men and Luci's mostly doing it as a bit. They can be a child, a kid, a hatchling, or a fledgling of God but never a son or daughter, isn't gender fun?
Day 1: Lucifer
‘Let there be light’
Lucifer(he/him); the Morningstar, Herald of Creation. The fallen one the brother below Made to be incapable of worship so he could never be satisfied with God's perfection alone and would seek out other paths to take creation.
(which does count as a neurodivergency, angels are inherently creatures of worship)
He'd find flaws in his brothers' realms and expand them into something entirely unique. He was less in charge of anything and more excluded from the control of anyone else. He also regularly got into arguments with their Father for shits and giggles, giving his very reverent brothers fucking heart attacks. (they assumed he was allowed to do this because he was the favourite and not perhaps the other way around)
Day 2: Michael
"the Heavens are separated from the Earth",
Michael(he/it); the Divineblade, Archangel of Law and Truth, Highest of All Angels, Charged with the creation of the Heavens and all other angels.
Most devoted to the Father's will; Chronic workaholic and quite resentful of his own personhood, all he wants is to be God's perfect tool but he keeps having feelings. Well-respected as a leader by his siblings; relentlessly bullied by them (out of love) as a brother for being unable to comprehend 'outgrowing their first intended purpose'. Hes got a famous polite stoic demeanour that's equally infamous for being broken by Lucifer's anything and nothing else. He is getting steadily worse at his job and its going to break him any day now.
Day 3: Raphael
"the waters are gathered, the earth brings forth life"
Raphael(all/they); the Healingspur, Archangel of Life, Keeper of Balance, Charged with the creation of the seas and vegetation.
Mediator of the twins' constant arguments, most consistent voice of reason in any room; Michael's right hand and the only reason he remembers to eat(they don't need to but its good for them). Gentle and controlled but also quite stern. Very strong sense of empathy that is systematically destroying them as they face others on their worse days over and over again. They are the most aware of how Lucifer absence is tearing each of their brothers apart and how unwilling anyone is to even acknowledge it; they have pretty much resigned themselves to the approaching all-out breakdown, there's not much a healer can do before the injury.
Day 4: Uriel
"the sky is filled with signs of days, months, season and years"
Uriel(all/they); the Aflameword, Archangel of Knowledge, keeper of the sun, stars and archives, Charged with the creation of constellations and planets.
Likes things quiet and tidy. Ordinarily quite reserved; preferring to keep to themselves, focus on documenting and organizing and simply observe the others. But unwilling to be resigned, has stepped up as the only one willing to call Michael on his bullshit, like refusing to officially promote Raph to second in command despite them already taking up all of Lucifer old duties; and even hesitantly but directly questioning their Father on some things, which is a lot for any of them. Has an arrogance streak, doesn't enjoy reminders of what they don't know; especially that they are just as in the dark about God's big plan as anyone else.
Day 5: Gabriel
"the earth is filled with creatures"
Gabriel(all/they); the Herocue, Archangel of Order, Keeper of progress, Charged with the creation of creatures and their instincts.
Gabe is a somewhat of a Hermes figure, Michael’s left hand. Quick and always eager to provide their services to anyone who asks; especially known for getting last minute tasks down for Michael. Their wings buzz like a hummingbird at the speeds they fly. Always set on efficiency with a reputation for being deadly serious but is secretly bit of a prankster. A gremlin when they get their mind set on something and will regularly startle others out by clinging to walls or ceilings. In charge of most of heaven’s military and had A bit of a complex about being weaker than Michael despite being the soldier of the seven.
Additional; a Channel suited for Him also sometimes called a sockpuppet, they can be possessed as God's vessel to act as his direct body and voice (without the negative repercussions to their body and mind or discomfort to Him other angels or creations would cause)
Day 6: Jophiel
humans are brought forth as caretakers of the earth
Jophiel(she/her); the Gracespector, Archangel of Passion, Keeper of Beauty, Charged with the creation of humanity
Highlight of every room she enters, quick-witted and an equal to Gabe, even a challenge to Michael on the battlefield. Always up for a good challenge, puzzle or debate. An open prankster, Gabriel is her hidden accomplice. Will defend the potential of humanity to her last breath, a more and more controversial stand; she's pretty upset at never getting to finish her masterpiece since she lost a lot of control of mankind once free will was introduced, she still tries to influence them probably more than she's really technically allowed. Knows about politics.
Day 7: Zadkiel
creation was finished, and the day was blessed
Zadkiel(all/they); the Righteouspeace, Archangel of Grace, Keeper of the Holy day, Charged with miracles and blessings.
Detached, muted and kinda smug but well meaning. They try but they don't really know how to interact with those of their equals. Their devotion rivals Michael’s but they’re quieter. Insecurity about having such an unclear purpose next to the other seven has let them entirely give themselves over to faith. If it happens, Father means it. Spends by far the most amount of time on earth(Gabriel is a distant second) and has strong opinions on every individual sect of Christianity and how they build their churches. They are continually surprised by how out of touch their brothers and rest of Heaven is to the religion that worships them, come on guys at least Our Brother Down Under has an excuse.
Additional; also a Channel suited for Him
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The youngest three are very close on account of being shut up out of important arguments and being left to gossip upon themselves
Michael tries really hard to convince himself Lucifer is The Enemy (he can't live with the alternative) but the other five are of the opinion "He transgressed, he got punished, still being angry at this point is just petty" and still want to be in his life. However, they still don't really get what he was trying to do, Lucifer is also hung up on how none of them came to check on him.
He didn't see any of them for 5 000 years and when he did it was Michael holding a sword to his throat and demanding to know why he was on earth.
From Luci's perspective; the fall very nearly killed him and only didn't because the Sins found him before he bled out; it was then years of painful recovery that never quite healed right. It wasn't like there was anything in hell that could hold a candle to the power of an Archangel, he would know. There was nothing stopping them, he was always there for them when they needed him, but when he was scared and hurt, they just abandoned him.
From their perspective; archangels were, and still are, assumed unkillable, and practically indestructible. This was the first time Father had ever punished like this before and they were terrified. No one was willing to risk it now that Falling was on the table; now that they saw He absolutely was willing to sacrifice His children for the Plan, whatever it was.

Here's a little something I've wanted to do for a while! This was made mostly out of curiosity, as a way to speculate on what colour genetics could've influenced the look of characters we've heard of but were never shown (Elli's dad, Bet and Stratos's sister, why Spheria is not yellow like Sunny, etc)
Some of these look pretty empty, so I will revisit this in the future to add more members to each family tree. These trees are also sprinkled with some oc's and my own headcanons.
Here are a few notes/reasonings/headcanons I have for each family:
Spheros:
My headcanon for the Spheros siblings' father is that his name is Exo Spheros, and his colours were quite dark. Both Exo and Rotunda came from families that were very mixed, and as a result, their children came in a variety of colours. Exo's side tends to have darker colours, while Rotunda's side has lighter colours.
Exo has bright red eyes, while Rotunda has green eyes. The clash of these colours caused a range of muted browns and reds in their children's eyes.
Rotunda's hair was white in the show, most likely from old age, therefore I made it so that her natural hair colour is the same as her daughter's hair colour, in order for it to make a bit more sense as to how her granddaughter (Elliptica) ended up with pink hair.
Partial Albinism is a dormant and recessive gene that runs in Rotunda's side of the family. It's a mutation where only the skin of the individual is affected: their skin lacks pigment and turns out white, while their hair and eye colour retain pigment and inherit a mix of their parents' colours. This mutation has been dormant throughout Rotunda's family line, until it showed its face in Betrayus' colours. Since Rotunda's side of the family has lighter colours, the overall lack of pigmentation has a link with this gene.
My headcanon name for Stratos and Betrayus' sister is Radia Spheros. Along with Betrayus, she has very little resemblance to either parent, precisely because of their mixed heritage. There is a little bit of dark red on Exo's side of the family, and this combined with Rotunda's lighter colours made Radia come out as a muted pink. Radia is the oldest, followed by Stratos and then Betrayus.
Unironically, all the Spheros' siblings have hair that is styled in a similar way to their father's.
Headcanon name for Elli's father is Ellipton (Ellip for short). Unlike Radia's side of the family, Ellip's family had a long line of consistent purples and blues, so these genes are stronger. Therefore, Elli looks a lot more like her father than her mother, and this is also why Elli was named after him.
Pac:
Headcanon that the reason why Spheria is not yellow like Sunny is because Spheria and Sunny are only half-sisters.
Sunny's father had an affair with a red woman before he married Sunny's mother, thus Spheria was born a little bit before Sunny. The affair was a point of conflict between Sunny's parents for a while, but eventually things settled down when Sunny was born.
Unfortunately, at some point Spheria's mother passed away and she was placed in her father's care, effectively making Spheria part of Sunny's side of the family. This is also why Spheria still has an accent; she grew up in a different state far away before she moved in with her father and his family.
Despite not having the same mother, Sunny and Spheria still grew up together and came to see each other as full sisters instead of half.
Zac's side of the family are pure yellows, while Sunny's side of the family have a tiny bit of mixing in their earlier ancestry, but the yellow genes are still strong enough for Sunny to have all of the powers and qualities that comes with being a Yellow One.
Cylindria:
The pink highlights in Cyli's hair are 100% natural and not dyed. This is thanks to a common gene that runs in her family, in which streaks of colours are present in their hair. It mostly comes from Starchild's side of the family, as seen in Granny's case. Elliptica has this gene too, inherited from her father's side of the family.
We never saw Moondog's real eye colours because he wears shades/custom glasses, so I gave him light purple eyes.
Moondog's side of the family is also a little bit more mixed, compared to Starchild's family who has been more consistently pink. Therefore Cyli inherited her black hair from her father and her pink skin, eyes, and hair streak gene from her mother.
Headcanon that Granny's real name is Windsong, and "Granny" is just a nickname that she's more fond of.
Additional headcanon that Granny became the first person in the family to think that their naming traditions have gotten a little silly, and so she strongly advocated for giving her granddaughter a "normal" name as opposed to a hippie name, which is how they ended up with Cylindria (her parents wanted to name her Moonchild instead. Cyli was eternally grateful that Granny stepped in to suggest a different name lol).
Spiral:
We literally know nothing about what Spiral's family looks like, other than a vague hint in one of the Chrsitmas episodes. So for now both his parents are red.
Though I am playing with the idea of giving Spiral a step-father, so that might be added in the future.
General Pacworlder colour genetics:
The more a certain colour is present in a family line, the stronger that colour gene is. For example, if the father's line is pure red, and he has offspring with a blue mother with a mixed lineage, then their children have a 75% higher chance of being red rather than blue or mixed.
Overall, mixed families usually produce offspring with stronger genes because of their diverse genetics. The only downside to this is that their mono-colour genes are weakened. The more a particular colour is present in a family-line, the more likely that offspring may get weaker genes in other areas outside of colour because of the lack of diverse breeding. This is seen in old medieval times when royal families married their cousins in order to keep the bloodline "pure" but it resulted in poor health among the descendants. Aside from this example, it is still entirely possible to have a healthy, pure colour bloodline without inbreeding, because Pacworlders with all kinds of colours are broadly populated across the planet.
More to be added in the future :)

Hey there. I'm a little nervous to ask this since I admire you and your artwork in the Rise community surrounding your adorable OC, August. She is so precious, by the way! In fact, you're one of the artists who inspired me to make and develop my own Rise OC, though I don't know if I will be ready to share them or my stories online yet.
I was wondering about August's ninpo and her abilities. I don't think I've ever seen her demonstrate having powers other than a post showing her having enhanced strength and inheriting her father's intelligence. Does she have other abilities, related or non-related to mystical powers? I also understand that she struggles with accessing and using her ninpo. Is there a reason as to why she struggles so much with this?
I apologize if this ask is a bit long. Again, I really do love your work and your OC. I hope that one day I can have enough confidence and skill to share my own stories and characters online. Have a good rest of your day!
No reason to be nervous dude - I’m literally just a normal person with an oc a few people like. I’m glad to hear you enjoy her too! It’s SUCH a joy and honor to hear she inspired anyone. I hope your own oc brings you tons of happiness and creativity. ☺️💓
I’ve admittedly been kinda dodgy about August’s ninpo cause I’m not ready to disclose it yet 🙈 More to come later on that! But! You can mark August down as being a bit of a kid genius (on whatever level Donnie would have been at her age). And there is very much a reason for why she struggles with her ninpo!
I think I’ve been hiding some of this for a fun reveal. But I’m not telling a linear story anyway and I may have gotten excited and posted about this before so whateveeeeer it’s all for fun. August spoilers (?) ahead.
💜
August is super keen to carry on the Hamato legacy and prove herself to her family, so she’s constantly pushing herself and working hard to measure up to a clan of highly skilled and powerful mystic ninjas. She trains regularly, and, in aus with cousins, takes her role as oldest cousin and future leader very seriously.
But overcoming her desire to be More and Better and a perfect example of her family, finding AUGUST within Hamato, is her personal arc that takes place in her later teens. And this uncertainty of self is reflected in her ninpo. So although August unlocks her ninpo fairly young she struggles with it for a long time - it’s amorphous, and changes, refusing to decide what it is. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. Sometimes she knows what to expect from it, sometimes it surprises her. For someone who thrives on consistency and control, this becomes wildly upsetting and frustrating, which only seems to worsen the problem.
Each of her family members have different theories on what the issue might be, and each of them are a little right. There are a few compounding factors at play. But once August starts to understand herself better and gain more confidence, her ninpo flows more naturally and finally takes a shape of her own. Personal growth!
