HUGE SPOILER AHEAD!!!

Watch “TRASH FRIENDS” before reading. If you haven’t watched it and still read this, pls don’t say I didn’t warn you 🫠👍

Just watched “TRASH FRIENDS” and the thumbnail really made me think this was going to be an episode focusing on the way Mario has been treated by Smg4 and his friends (at least that’s how I see it) but I wasn’t expecting an episode about Smg3’s insecurities and fears (mostly insecurities)

I really was caught lacking because I was expecting something and I got the opposite lmao. I should be familiar with this guy’s content already and know that the only thing expected from these episodes is the unexpected xD, but anyways back to talking about the video.

In previous episodes we see that he gets a little bit of customers such as in the episode “You used to be cool” and “CEO OF RIZZ” but in this last mentioned episode he tries to advertise his café after Boopkins’s date works out in the end and so does the same in “SMG4’s NEWS.”

At first you think “Maybe he wants more than what he has” but after watching this episode you realize he’s actually struggling with his business and last weeks episode you change your view from his actions and see him as more desperate rather than greedy after watching this latest ep.

Constantly trying to get more people into his café and taking every single chance he can see to advertise no matter the place or time, like life depends on it.

And talking about chances ._.xD

Smg4 comes to this guy’s café for his help to get his “Michael Jordan Endorsement Video” back because boi lost it and he wants Smg3’s help because their “FRIENDS”

Of course Smg3 saw this as a chance to advertise his café because HOLY SHIT MICHAEL JORDAD!!! A famous basketball player that anyone would want to have the chance to meet and that’s a chance that Smg3 is willing to take because it means his business would BLOW UP *someone throws them a chair*

Btw when Mario shows up to offer his help, I expected Smg4 to be more happy that he has his avatar buddy always trying to help him but instead…

Don’t get me wrong, I know they got a little weirded out about the fact that Mario is a regular around the Junkyard due to him eating at that location but still, that dialogue still sort of hurt me man qwp

But anyways back to my review of this episode and giving my acoustic povs that nobody asked for.

They arrive at the junkyard and after being there for 5 seconds, they find the legendary pokemon that goes by the name of “Michael Jordan Endorsement Video” (sorry for my weak ass jokes, I just woke up and my humor is a little broken rn)

After having the video on sight, Mario pulls a Yoshi and beats the crap out of the spaghetti plate where the video so happened to land on, in one go. Obviously, causing the other two to try and force the USB out of him but both failed as Mario did a BLJ through the trash and forcing 3 & 4 to dig through everything to find him.

Now… the part I was dying to talk about and hopefully I can let out my thoughts the proper way.

As the two spend an entire evening just digging through trash, they start a friendly conversation until Smg4 touches the Smg3’s CnB topic which causes Smg3 to get nervous and lie about everything being fine because he has something that every human being has unfortunately, ✨I N S E C U R I T I E S✨.

Which I understand because bruh, 3’s been seen as a bad copy of 4 who’s the total opposite of him for a good piece of his life, if not his ENTIRE existence and now that’s he’s going through a change in his life for the better, he’s going to face a lot of these insecurity episodes because he’s so used to being seen as the bad guy, the bad copy, The Villain. Always people seeing what 4 does and never looking what 3 does which got him into that dark path.

Is like the Sun and the Moon kind of thing. The Sun (Smg4) can shine the brightest while the moon (Smg3) is just a floating rock shining the least. I’ll bring this up again at the end of the review.

But yeah, Smg3 has insecurities and is more shown when they reach the entrance of Mario’s hiding spot.

Looking at the patch notes for patch 5! This is the first set of patch notes I've actively paid attention to and man, it's fucking huge!

Honestly, reading through this, I am just mind-boggled all over again about the scale and ambition of this game. Obviously there were (and probably still are) quite a few bugs, unexpected interactions, etc., but Larian have worked their fucking tails off to make a fully functional automated D&D combat system and a story that has a monumental amount of potential variables, and speaking as a programmer it makes my head hurt just thinking about all of the moving parts that must be involved in making this work.

And they seem to be blasting through fixes at an incredible rate too. This is a good development team who seem to have a brilliant combination of technical know-how, good humor, community-mindedness, and passion for their source material, and I'm incredibly impressed even in the short amount of time that I've been playing the game so far.

Obviously I already knew about the addition of the epilogues, which it sounds like makes the ending much more satisfying overall, but some other things that stuck out to me:

"While at camp, you can now access and manage the inventories of companions who aren't in your active party." Yesssss; this has been one of the more annoying aspects of the game up to this point.

"You can now sell and barter items inside containers when trading." This will simplify things for me given I have a System involving Karlach and Shadowheart each carrying a Bag Of Crap to sell.

"Improved grouping and sorting of items in containers while trading." Please tell me this means all the dyes will finally be grouped together when I try to buy them for hoarding.

"A romanced Minthara can now refer to her bond with you using a drow word for deep, unbreakable love." Minthara is probably coming a good deal later in priority on my playthroughs but this is cute.

"Withers will sneakily resurrect any dead companions that fell before the final battle so they can join the ending cinematics. What a helpful skeleton." Good job, Withers.

"The loading screen art now unlocks gradually as you progress through the game." That's a neat touch.

"Fixed occasional T-poses and frozen animations related to the Incapacitated condition." No more T-posing drunk goblins!

"Fixed the combat UI not automatically skipping to the next available party member after a controlled character dies." I think this was why Hector's whole party almost died to the Selune lasers. XD

"Two new play modes: Honour Mode and Custom Mode." No idea what that implies at all but I'm intrigued. More content!

"Improved Astarion's Ascendant route at-will gnome kiss for masculine body types." This is not relevant to any playthrough I'm currently doing but just reinforces what I was talking about above, regarding the incredible number of variables this game juggles (for the most part super successfully).

Also quite a lot of updates that just made me laugh:

"Boo will no longer take damage when thrown."

"When players start a combat inside the Elfsong Tavern, all the patrons will now cower instead of continuing to drink."

"You can no longer use the awesome force of bombs to flip the switch behind the final door in the Gauntlet of Shar to force the door to open."

"You can no longer loot the entire inventory of unconscious traders - instead you have access to a limited selection, as with dead traders. Nice try, pacifists."

"Added the intensely satisfying 'Ahhh' sound for players who Short Rest using a keybind rather than a UI button."

"Shar is now aware of Shadowheart's actions even if she is using Disguise Self."

"Using the lift in the House of Healing when in Turn-Based Mode no longer causes it to loop between floors indefinitely upon exiting Turn-Based Mode."

"Fixed a rare bug where Halsin would decide to turn into a bear whenever you went to talk to him at camp in the Shadow-Cursed Lands."

"If Wyll somehow managed to avoid Mizora's punishment for keeping Karlach alive, he'll be punished retroactively."

"Fixed Astarion accidentally telling the Dark Urge's future."

"Astarion no longer asks the Dark Urge about killing Isobel even if they didn't."

"You no longer comment on Mol if you haven't met her before."

"Locke no longer blames Zevlor for his death if Zevlor died in Act I."

"Fixed several instances of sleeping goblins waking up wanting a chat when they should have been hostile."

"Halsin will no longer forget about saving Thaniel if you travel back to Act I while he's waiting at the lakeside. Focus, Halsin."

"Players who arrive to the Ketheric showdown shape-shifted will have to face him person-to-person, not apostle-to-badger."

"If Isobel is thrown off her balcony, she'll make more of an effort to get back upstairs again."

"Fixed some beggars in the Brampton District facing the wrong way when asking for coin."

"Ravengard should now use the correct pronouns when addressing you during the ceremony in Wyrm's Rock."

"Karlach no longer thinks she's left the Hells when you explore the rocky outcrop near Hope's prison."

"Added a profanity filter for custom map markers. You'll have to find more creative ways to label the kennel master."

"Splitting a green dye stack in the Traveller's Chest at camp will no longer change the dye's rarity from Uncommon to Very Rare."

"The hanging cages in Cazador's dungeon will no longer tell you they're safe to step on, only to drop you to your death in the chasm below."

"Fixed Mirkon sometimes cowering in fairly deep water when you talk to him while he's running away from the harpies."

"Improved Cazador's home security by locking a chest and a door."

"Locked one of the Caza-doors."

"Fixed padded armour sometimes appearing as underwear on bigger body types. "

"A dead fisherman on the beach will no longer hint that you can find Shadowheart just ahead if you are, in fact, Shadowheart."

"Minthara's haughty stare will now correctly look at players she's talking to towards the end of the game. "

V excited to continue my playthrough, even more than I was already. Feels like we're in good hands. :)

So what is it about guys like Michael Westen, Tony DiNozzo and Doug Ross (if you watched ER) that makes us go all weak in the knees?? It's certainly my "tv" type but in real life not the man I married...except for the snarky sense of humor.

Heh, sorry, but you're asking this question of the wrong tumblr XD

I spent the first two seasons completely neutral on Michael - generic white male action lead, whatever. I fell in love with Sam in season two - hard. I fell in love with Fiona in season three. And as a consequence of that, in season three I LOATHED Michael for some of the crap he pulled with Sam and Fiona. And that continued into season four with the way he treated Jesse (Fiona was right, if they were going to bring him in, they shouldn't have kept lying to him).

I softened somewhat on Michael in season seven, because the guy went through absolute hell, and not even he deserved that. And when I watched the whole show through a second time (and then a third), that softer attitude stayed, and I came to appreciate his good points as I saw him more through Sam and Fiona's eyes. But I'm still nope-ing out on him.

I'd screw Sam in a heartbeat. I'd happily screw Fiona. Both of them would be a lot of fun as a quick fling (though definitely not to live with). I wouldn't touch Michael with a fifty foot pole XD

Same goes for Doug Ross. George Clooney can be hot in some things, but not in ER. And I don't know who the other guy is.

Sci-fi movies I saw yesterday.

ALIEN. OUTER SPACE.

Concepts that I love united in a single post thanks to these three films that I had the pleasure of seeing yesterday.

Well, the pleasure. Some more than others, I'll warn you. Because, for example, there is NO ONE WILL SAVE YOU. Put by the clouds even by the prompter, it is the biggest piece of crap I have seen in quite some time. A film that offers the same thing as always, with an irritating protagonist to the extreme and a story, in general, to which I do not plan to dedicate much more time because… There is nothing more to extract from it, except boredom.

A 1/5, and I'm taking a chance!

Although, luckily, in the world we also have things like NOPE, which unlike the first, was harshly criticized and I still don't understand why (just like the character of Kaluuya, who was my favorite (even though they are all very well introduced)! Do you dislike serious and intelligent people who know what they are talking about? Interesting xD). When we talk about NOPE, we are talking about a fantastic adventure film, with a pure horror sequence in between, with a simple rhythm and script, but more than effective, since its messages and ideas are clear from the very beginning and It is capable of keeping you hooked. But we also talked about his original "antagonist" and the brilliant UFO theory he offers in this regard. Brilliant idea and staging that I can't go below 4/5. Well, EVERYTHING (even the humor) FITS PERFECTLY.

Just like in ANIARA. Without a doubt, THE BEST ON THIS LIST. A forgotten beauty that must be remembered more, since we are facing the most realistic and fascinating space adventure that I HAVE EVER SEEN. Based, also, on an epic poem from the last century that I reading to do immediately, because with just its first pages, it has conquered me as much as its film adaptation!

A ship on its way to Mars that leaves its orbit and is left to its fate in the immensity of space, and the psychological and existential impact that this has on its crew. A long journey that stays with you FOREVER. Just like its ending.

A thoughtful legend that you have to SEE NOW.

I saw you commenting on the anime's decisions on how to characterize Bakugo. I get the anger, but my usual problem is I've seen this type of anger across several manga fandoms when anime studios change things unnecessarily, and the result is always the same. The anime studios keep doing whatever they are doing. I'm not saying the anger in invalid, just that I'm all out of craps to give about it because usually anime studios make whatever decisions they want. While Bones does seem to have a need to add filler and humor in where it isn't needed, they are more faithful than some anime studios I've seen. They at least keep to major plot points and don't try to entirely rewrite the tone of the series, which is a level of disrespect I've heard of happening before. Or worse, adding entire arcs and seasons that weren't originally there. So, I'm at least thankful that Bones mostly follows the manga, even if it does add filler. There are many other mangas that have gotten treated way worse XD. I'm not saying people can't complain about it btw, but I just think that Bones is far from the worst or even a particularly noteworthy offender as far as anime studios go.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with Bones as a studio. Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood was a masterpiece from start to finish. Noragami was also great in my opinion, although I’m not sure how faithful to the manga they were cuz I haven’t read it. I’ve also heard really great things about Mob Psycho 100 although I haven’t read or watched it.

And yea they stay pretty faithful to mha as well but it’s just the small random things they choose to change that just adds up and makes me not want to watch the anime. And their filler/movies aren’t great because they’re not faithful to characterization specifically. No offense to anyone that likes the first movie specifically but, that movie was written like poorly written fanfiction. The characterization was awful.

But you’re right, there’s not much use in caring about the dumb things anime studios do especially when other great mangas were adapted far worse on screen, mainly in the seinen genre (Tokyo ghoul, The Promised Neverland and Berserk is what came to mind for me).

It’s just frustrating to see one of the best written characters in the story get completely undermined by the anime studio. Not even the anime studio, more so the directors most likely. There’s still plenty of anime only watchers that like bakugo but most of the time it’s cuz he’s “strong, loud, and tough,” not because of his actual development as a character because the anime doesn’t show his development well. Which it’s fine for the studio to continue to cater to the side of the audience that only cares about his brawn but I feel like there’s ways to do that without going backwards in his character development. But they just kinda keep doing it and it’s gonna make the more obvious parts of his development not make sense and considering how many more people watch the anime over reading the manga, mha in general might come across as poorly written and that generalization is gonna fall onto hori by the number of fans that only watch the anime.

Luckily though hori only really cares about his Japanese audience and I think a majority of fans there keep up with mha manga as much as they do the anime thanks to shonenjump so I’m not really worried. I’m just slightly frustrated and a little disappointed by how they’re handling his character so far this season (mainly cuz I know my irl friends are gonna talk mad shit about how much they hate him and I can’t say anything cuz manga spoilers) but at the end of the day I have no control of what the anime studio decides to do. If they fuck up, they fuck up and in Japan that’s gonna reflect more on them than it’ll reflect on hori so🤷🏽‍♀️

OMMGG HEYYY I've been rewatching catscratch too !!! It's so underrated imo I love the humor!!

I have yet to finish the eps but my fav character is definitely mr blik, tho I love Gordon and waffle too !!

Hi hi!!! Omg omg holy crap how is it that we've both decided to rewatch this masterpiece of a show at the same time??

It's usually crazy to me that people other than me remember this xD

Honestly it's such a great and underrated show. I think it actually shaped me as a person dhjsdj like I think I ended up like this because of this freaking show dude xD

I finally finished all the eps today and it's just as good as I remember it. I seem to have a type when it comes to favorite characters and yeah

Waffle is the best I love him so much xD I love the others too, but yeah Waffle is just 👌👌👌

And I didn't realize how amazing and hilarious Hovis is?? He's so good!! I found myself laughing a lot of his remarks and his attitude towards the cats. And the fact that he's voiced by Mo and Gordan by Rob makes me just like wow these guys have actually been a part of my life for longer than i thought. Maurice delivers some very good lines for not just Hovis but other characters as well in this show. He screams so much??? xD

The zombie episode was the one I was "dreading" (not actually) because that ep was the one that scared me so much as a kid that I could not look at the screen and had nightmares for days jghghv like I kept watching the show because I loved it but I was so terrified xD it was a very good episode as an adult though

Now... onto the negatives because there are some...

I'm not sure how old the cats are supposed to be but Gordan's obsession and crush on Human Kimberly is just so disturbing to me. I mean... maybe since they're cats they're technically around the same age as her?? In cat years?? Idk. But the fact that his voice sounds like a full ass grown man and hers sounds you know... like a child because she's a child ...is just so strange. I don't think that was a good decision for the makers of the show tbh.

Another thing that I didn't really care for is how gendered everything is, but I guess that is to be expected for a show at that time. But like Mr. Blik laughing at Gordan for wearing something frilly and calling him a "pony boy" just.. no.

And then there's the series creator who is.... a bit problematic, especially to the lgbtqia+ community.

I also just don't like Katilda's design but that's just a personal opinion

But other than that I adore this show and I would love if they did something with it again (excluding Doug Tennapel)

HEID CALLED HOJO A LONG-HAIRED LUNATIC IN CANON ( the powerwash dlc lol ) AND I NEED TO KNOW IZZYS THOUGHTS ON THIS. PLS. NO REASON WHY JUST WANNA KNOW HER THOUGHTS ON THEIR DUMB LIL OLD MAN FEUD. ARE THEY BOTH AS DUMB AS EACH OTHER REALLY?

Well Izzy's not going to deny that Hojo is a lunatic XD She's used to the tensions between the departments as its always been there, though yes, she does find it silly to be wasting time on. They both have the potential to dispose of the other but they can't because, in fact, they do need each other and its hard for either to admit to the symbiotic relationship. Heideggar has need of the science for his Solider and Hojo needs....well the Soldiers xD

So really its just a petty way to vent annoyance. And yeah she usually will take Hojo's side and she harbors a dislike of Heid by default. I do think she finds it fun to annoy him too sometimes. To just go hang out and bug him because she knows that she unnerves him xD He's probably the only on in ShinRa, since he has those predatory war instincts, that can sense there is something OFF about her other than the rumors that she's 'only an assistant because she sleeps witht he Professor' crap. Which, its much deeper than that. She wants people to roll with that because she doesn't want them to know the truth. Its very dark. She's not quite human. And Heid somehow KNOWS that.

So yeah she likes to watch him squirm and then get dragged back to the labs where he then tells Hojo to keep his things in his own department and out of his. (lmao!) I just have some goofy HC's out there in my head.

On the other hand she doesn't exactly mind that Heideggar does these sorts of things to irritate him. Hojo does piss Izzy off more often that you might think....and she does love to annoy Hojo and get under his skin as well. Because she's psychotic too. Basically anyone that has a high ranking in ShinRa is.

But the gist of it is that yeah, she's probably rolling her eyes at it but she also probably doesn't really give a fuck and is mildly entertained by it at the same time, giggling to herself how they're even humoring any of it at all with their status.

I swear you just ask me this crap to make me rant xD

Rolls with Advantage - A Hellfire Oneshot

Sorry! It took a little bit longer than I meant too lol! I kept getting distracted by a certain Facebook group chat I love. XD

No TWs, just pure fun!

Dustin's POV

“I have a sub if we still need one?” Dustin chimed in. He hadn't really been paying too much attention to the conversation but hearing that they were short a member for tonight's game ripped him back to reality. He had been daydreaming up until that point, wondering what in the world their dungeon master would put them through for what would be one of their last games before he was to graduate.

Eddie was finally doing it. Dustin couldn't help being so dammed proud but also was incredibly sad too. The thought of him leaving was something Dustin really was not ready to face yet even though he knew he soon would have to.

“Who do you have Henderson? I thought that everyone who is already experienced is already accounted for or going to the stupid dance tonight?” Eddie was semi perched in his chair at the head of the table clutching at a bag of mini pretzels. His face definitely did not reflect any sort of humor as he cocked his head to the side slightly, eyes boring into Dustin where he sat.

Dustin knew that Eddie was just disappointed that some of their friends were choosing to not be there when they had such limited time left. “Well....her name is El. You haven't met her yet but she's sort of Will's sister so she already kind of knows the ropes....I think...”

Dustin quickly scooped a spoonful of the briny kernels into his mouth, corn...the school cafeteria liked to pretend this crap was corn. Admittedly he just didn't want to have to answer Eddie right away when he started asking the questions that he could tell were coming. He couldn't really blame Eddie... last he knew El was still out in California, having gone back after they had sealed Nether Hawkins away blanketing the real thing in safety once again.

Eddie's POV

Eddie thought about Dustin's proposal for a moment. Truly only giving it a moment's thought as he wasn't the type to leave anyone out who wanted to be included.

He knew very well what it meant to be the outcast. He was a walking stereotype for the character. “Yeah, she'll do.” he said not realizing what he'd just done. He hadn't met her yet so … of course it would slip his mind that she was gifted. Dustin hadn't thought about that fact either. He was just so excited to involve another one of his friends in the gameplay of his beloved Dungeons and Dragons.

Later that Evening: Eddie's POV

“The time has come my friends. We are so very close to our journeys end… will you stand your grounds tonight and FIGHT or will you tuck tail and run?” Eddie's voice thick with dramatic flair as he stood next to the wooden door that was propped open for the Hellfire kids.

Almost everyone had arrived, but Eddie wasn't sweating it too much. There was only about 10 more minutes before they absolutely HAD to start the evening's campaign.

He was still weighing between pitting them against a young dragon or a Thessalhydra when he heard the thunderous stampede of footsteps echoing outside of the room. He leaned out the doorway and grinned, shaking his head as Dusin came in whipping around the corner, dragging a lanky girl by the hand.

The girl wore a huge grin but also still managed to look absolutely shell shocked – definitely nervous. Her hair was in an awkward growth stage, not quite long enough yet to pull into a ponytail, she wore light denim jeans and an absolutely garish button down. The patterns and color blend made his head hurt if he looked at it too long.

“Ahh… Henderson! How good of you to join us this evening…I see thou dost have a fair maiden with you tonight?” Eddie gave a sweeping bow as he stepped aside from the door frame “M'lady, lovely to meet you!”

“Hi.” El said quietly but smiling widely. Eddie could see she was a little bit shy but hoped that she'd pull out of it.

Eddie was absolutely buzzing with energy. He always did on campaign nights… always excited to see what choices the kids would make against his sadistic shenanigans.

They'd surprise him sometimes and he'd have to shift a choice towards a different direction based off of something they had done or not done… a clue they'd miss. Sometimes it was frustrating when they wouldn't pick the path, he WANTED them to… and get distracted with tomfoolery in town or on side quests.

One night in particular, good lord…. Dustin being salty that things had not gone the way that he had hoped in their most recent dungeon and missing out on a pretty epic dagger was pissed and decided to take it out on the town. At the time he had been playing a Chaotic Evil Rogue named Dresdir.

He decided to go into town where his “friends” were sleeping in the tavern and set the dammed thing on fire. This little fucker sat outside as the tavern burned roasting meat on a freaking stick. While amusing as hell, that had definitely put a whole log in the road that Eddie wanted his band of merry little misfits to go down next. He had to rapidly shift the game play into survival mode.

El had been placed in the middle of Eddie and Dustin so that if she needed any help as they played through, she had two people at her disposal. Of course, in true Dustin fashion he had already “helped” her build a magic user she'd named Janice. They had been playing for over two hours now… soda cans were now littering the floor and chips of various flavors strewn messily around the once clean and organized table.

Everyone was on edge; the battle so far had been pretty brutal so far. The group had taken Eddie's bait and went into the mountains in search of a cave full of chests. Lord what could go wrong right?

Dustin had thought of this and pointed it out much to Eddie's dismay “Sounds like a dragon lair guys… maybe we shouldn't. Or hell, there could be nothing but Mimics.”

Eddie had practically held his breath while the group debated on if it had been worth the risk or not… but as he had hoped, in the end, greed and the lust for gold won over their fear of potential flame breathing lizards with wings.

“You're on the cliffs edge, mere inches away from certain death… the rocks are slowly crumbling behind you… click… click… one falling away at a time, then two, then two more… 4 of your friends are already down… knocked out…you only have two spells left for the day… Dungar is currently holding the last whelplings attention…but for how much longer will he last? What are you going to do?” Eddie said, voice low and deep, menacing as he looked to El who was chewing at her pencil nervously eyes narrowed as she studied the playing field

“I think… I think I'm going to try using Magic Missile and aim for the Dragon.” She nodded glancing over at a nervous Dustin for confirmation

Between the two of them they only had 10 hit points left. What they didn't know however, was that the Whelpling only had 8. Eddie knew that unless they both bombed their rolls, they shouldn't have an issue taking it down. However, he didn't want to let that show on his face and ruin the suspense, so he just perched in his throne, hands folded like a prayer, chin tucked on top of his fingertips, smirking with an eyebrow cocked in feigned interest as he watched.

“Sure. Go ahead and Roll.” he nods waving a hand to gesture her to go ahead.

El stood out of her seat, picking red and black swirly dice from the table. First, she rolls a 20, definitely confirming that her spell will hit. Then she rolls the D4 to get her damage… both were excellent rolls…too good?

“Roll for Crit confirm” Eddie says grinning, perplexed but amused

The pressure was on. El felt it for sure. She shook the little die in her hand closing her eyes before releasing it onto the board. She and everyone else around the table were staring intently, holding their breath as the dice bounced and rolled across the mat. It started to slow… and landed.

Natural 20. She had done it! AGAIN!

”YESSSSS!!!!!” Everyone broke out into cheers around the table as Eddie knocked over the dragon figurine signaling its death.

“And with that! Lady Janice! Your missiles shoot forth and PIERCE through a soft spot in the whelplings hide, striking him dead in an instant! Congratulations you LUCKY lady!! I have NEVER EVER seen someone roll so well! Definitely a Hellfire first!” Eddie was bouncing around beside his throne, gripping her arm and beaming at her until he noticed “Oh… uh El… your nose is bleeding, here.” Eddie said suddenly, passing her one of the napkins from the table

Dustin's head whipped around “WAIT!!! YOU CHEATED!!!” he was completely animated, bouncing on his heels and pointing his finger at her.

Eddie's eyebrows disappeared into his wild hair as he turned to face the girl “WAIT!! YOU'RE THE WIZARD GIRL!!!” the gears clicking into place 'OH MY GOD! YOU TOTALLY USED YOUR POWERS DIDN'T YOU!!”

The rest of the Hellfire group exclaiming around the table or slapping Dustin around for bringing this knowledge to light. Mutters of “Why'd you tell!” could be heard

El smiled timidly “I just wanted to make sure we won” she shrugged

Eddie clutched at his chest with both fists, throwing himself backwards over his throne before shifting to sit back in it and look up at her with a grin “I am absolutely appalled that you thought you could get away with that. Next game you join us you're starting off with a 5-point penalty roll Missy, and I expect you to be in a Hellfire shirt.”

I've been studying the Old Testament this year, and I happen to be on Job today. I listened to it for the whole 2 hour drive back home from my parents' house today, and I have a few takeaways:

1. Job's friends were jerks

2. Job understood this, and I loved his response--he called them out on it, stood up for himself, and taught them the gospel

3. After listening to everyone else give their spiels, the youngest one in the group (Elihu) basically said "okay boomers, I've been sitting here waiting for you to finish this whole time, and the Spirit's telling me to speak up and I have thoughts, so listen up." And then basically says "God is awesome and the definition of goodness, so all y'all need to spend more time thinking about that instead of trying to sound all wise and crap." It was entertaining.

4. Then the Lord comes in and gives us some awesome tidbits about how involved He is in the lives of all His creations. And Job drinks his Respect juice. And the Lord reassures Job that he's good. And that his friends are jerks and need to repent.

5. They did repent in the end, so good on them

Asking for prayers

One of my nieces had a seizure last night and passed away this morning. She was a teenager and like a sister to me. We’re going to miss her so much. Please pray for us, especially my sister and her husband. This wasn’t their first loss recently and they still have three little ones at home.

God is good, the resurrection is real, and we're so excited to have my niece back with us someday

It just occurred to me that Daiyu was Leia's first time off Alderaan

No wonder she looked a little shell-shocked to nearly run into that huge alien--it was probably the first moment she finally felt safe enough to run off on her own, to really look at the world around her, and then she realizes how different it is, and how lost she is, aside from this strange man who she's known for like 10 minutes and he smells bad but he got her out of that room and speaks softly and seems to be trying to be gentle, even if he's bad at it

18:Most traumatic experience - (TW: suicidal thoughts (not mine), knives) once when I was younger, i was home with just my older brother and my mom. out of nowhere my mom starts yelling and crying and me and my brother rush over to her and she's so obviously in pain and she's yelling about how her head feels like it wants to explode. (found out later she was having a really terrible migraine). my brother was trying to calm her down and we were trying to figure out what to do. i remember her saying, very clearly, that she wanted to take a knife and stick it through her ears to get the pain to stop. that she wanted to die because it hurt so bad. my brother kept an eye on her while he called our neighbors to come help. i went and took all of our steak knives and hid them. just in case we couldn't stop her. i was just a kid. i didn't know what else to do. but after so many years, that situation has stuck in my head, and it makes me extremely afraid of other people in pain. my mom's had a lot of health issues over the years and there have been times that she's in intense pain and i've always just froze up. and i would try to prepare myself to hold her down if i had to, like my brother was prepared to do back then. and sometimes i would wonder if i need to hide the knives again. (it never got so bad again, though, thankfully)

20:What I hate most about myself - i have a tendency to self-isolate when i'm feeling down or anxious and that only makes me feel WORSE and i hate it so much. im working on getting thru that tho

22:What I want to be when I get older - an artist and writer :) BUT!! also would be very interested in being an anthropologist still, too

24:My relationship with my parent(s) - strained a lot of the time, but it does a lot better when we're not living under the same roof. i love my parents, but they have a lot of room to improve, and i don't think they will. they love me, too, and they've helped me out a lot when shit has fallen apart, which i'm endlessly thankful for. but i don't know if they would love all of me if i came out which strains the relationship on my side which frustrates them and it's just. woof. we have stuff to work through lol but i'm not ready yet.

26:My biggest pet peeves - self deprecation as a form of humor, and refusing to take care of your body's basic needs even with a reminder to do so. neither one is funny or cute or quirky. it's annoying as shit. when my friends do it i want to throttle them (with love)

Moments That Bring Me Joy: Air Bud

Because Disney+ finally put up Air Bud, I decided I'd do one of these for one of my favorite childhood movies. I have no idea why this movie in particular grabbed my heart and never let go, amongst all the other dog movies I watched. I mean, come on - this is a movie about basketball, for crying out loud! Why would I, who have never had even a smidge of interest in any sport whatsoever, fall in love with a movie about a basketball-playing pooch?

But I did. I loved it almost from the first glimpse of that beautiful golden retriever face (possibly partly because my aunt and uncle had a golden retriever at the time who was the sweetest dog ever). I cried like a baby the first time I watched it (we had to pause for lunch right after Snively takes Buddy, and I could barely eat). I identified with Josh surprisingly strongly, considering I was a girl who had never had a dog or played basketball or lost my dad or anything this kid goes through. But empathized with him really strongly, and for the next year or so, I got through boring schoolwork by daydreaming highly dramatic scenarios involving me training on various sports teams with my imaginary dog Peter. (Peter was a collie, not a golden retriever, but I can definitely point to Air Bud as being the spark of inspiration for him.) Or I think sometimes I would be training Peter for a dog show or something, and he would successfully jump through a hoop or do a trick each time I answered another question in my workbook XD

But anyway, enough about that! Here are the moments in the movie that still give me joy, all these years later (and remember, joy doesn't necessarily mean happiness):

THE OLD DISNEY LOGO! Oh gosh, the nostalgia! *_* I think I got this movie for my seventh birthday or something. That was such a long time ago....

"Fernfield, Where Everything Is Possible." What a town motto XD

"Hey, kids, it's Happy Slappy Time!"

All of the unimpressed expressions on the audience during the disastrous clown antics XD The extras in this movie are just. The Best.

All the cows watching Buddy through the fence after he falls off the truck. Simple humor, but effective. Love it.

Oh gosh, who does the music in this thing?! ...Brahm Wenger. Never heard of him, but the soundtrack in this movie is incredible. Way better than it needed to be, but we're hardly 8 minutes into the movie and I'm already noticing it. Mr. Wenger, you were wasted on all those Air Buddies movies.

When Josh is walking past the kids playing basketball, running his fingers along the chain-link fence. I can't quite put it into words, and I certainly couldn't then, but I remember sitting in the living room at seven years old, seeing that for the first time and thinking, "That's me." The best I can explain it is it's something about being on the outside looking in.

Just realized the first word we hear Josh say is "sucks" XD

When Josh breaks down the rotten fence and the music swells as we get that gorgeous view of the lake(?)

There's nothing like seeing a sad little boy and a sad little dog bonding and having fun for the first time in forever <3

*right after Buddy has utterly destroyed the living room* Josh: "So...can I keep him?" Mom: 😒

Josh's mom letting him keep Buddy as a Christmas present :')

"Sigmund twins moved to Canada, God knows why." - I don't remember this line at all, but it makes me laugh now XD

That doggy smile Buddy gives Josh the first time he makes a basket ^_^

That "well, crap" look on the coach's face when he realizes he has to put Josh on the team after embarrassing him in front of everybody, because Josh is that good of a player

I just really like the fat referee. He's having the worst night of his life, and I want to give him a hug and tell him it'll be okay XD

I take a vicious sort of joy in the rightness of the first coach getting caught red-handed in the abusive way he punishes Tom for fumbling the ball, and Coach Chaney taking over instead.

Man, the music in this movie! It turns a simple scene of the new middle school mascot doing a trick into a heroic moment of sheer triumph, followed by that montage of them winning games that just makes you want to get up and cheer.

Josh's mom coming out the morning after Snively takes Buddy away, and finding a newspaper on her driveway for the first time...I like the subtle touch.

"I don't want my dog to do beer commercials. I got ethics!" *30 seconds later* "Out of curiosity, how much are we talking for one of those beer commercials?"

Snively's unbelievably terrible truck - and driving XD Plus his pathetic little "No, I needed that!" when the steering wheel falls off :P

The whole scene where Josh lets Buddy go. Yes, that scene brings me joy - and I'm tearing up, even though I can't even count how many times I've seen this movie and know perfectly well that everything will turn out fine very shortly! It's just so perfectly done, showing their bond and providing an opportunity for Josh to explain what he's doing even though there's no one with him except for a dog. And that music, I just...it's in my soul. It's the heart's cry of the little girl I used to be, lonely and wishing I could have a dog that wasn't just in my imagination, because that was the only kind of friend I could imagine having. And that bit where the music is swelling and Buddy is racing after Josh through the brambles and dead bushes...I can point to that moment as the beginning of the many, many daydreams I would have about my imaginary dog Peter as I'd gaze out the window of a moving vehicle.

"Ain't no rule says a dog can't play basketball!"

"Hey, Water Boy...nice shot." - I FORGOT ABOUT THAT!!!! I LOVE THIS!!!! Even Larry has to finally acknowledge Josh is a good player!

The whole trial is so silly, but somehow...lovably so? I'm not sure if that would be the case to someone who's actually a lawyer, though ^^' But it's just so full of fun moments:

"What is that dog doing in the courthouse?" "That's the, uh...child, sir." "That's a pretty ugly kid."

"I will not have my courtroom turned into a circus." *literal clown walks in*

"I'm the plaintiff." "You look like an idiot."

"Who are you, Barnum or Bailey?" "Arthur Chaney, Your Honor."

"Mr. Chaney, during my forty years on the bench, I have heard a lot of lame-brained, cockamamie proposals. But this one...I like."

"Case closed! Thank God."

Oh, interesting! I never noticed before, but in the credits, right under the note about "no animals were harmed," there's a note that says, "No special visual effects were used in the basketball sequences of this Motion Picture."

And again, that soundtrack! I can guarantee you, if seven-year-old me had known soundtracks were a thing, I would have begged and pleaded to get my hands on the Air Bud soundtrack, and I would have worn it out completely as I daydreamed about my adventures with my imaginary dog. You know...I still might see if I can get it, because the music alone brings me so much joy ^_^

HEY YALL GUESS WHOS GOT BRAIN ROT!

the second one was actually the first one I drew, the arms were supposed to form Grian’s wings but I think including the ear wing was a mistake because it doesn't translate as well into wings with it :/ oh well. I also liked the idea of like... watcher wings folding out from within Grian’s parrot wings? I really wanted to color the second one but I couldn't decide on coloring him in with pale colored pencils of making the rest of Grian really bright using more paint pens. Background were done in photopea. Does the glitch background look familiar? its the same one I made for my Pokemon comic xD. I was too lazy to make a new one so i just reused the one I already made. bonus pieces without the backgrounds:

I typed the ask at maybe three in the morning, so now that I look at it again, I'm in horror of the length LOL I didn't realize it got that long?! thank you so much for humoring me!

Also, are you me?! I played the game months ago, and I also played Mozu's second because I had my eye on him (my first route was Shu because he was my initial favorite, so let me say you have GREAT taste! Shu's route is really good!!!)

I agree with everything you say! Those are really great ideas to go around Mozu's route, I wish it went the way you said it. Mozu's characterization is great and the romance stemming from a personality like his has such a great potential…

Saskue sounds so adorable, Mozu might probably do something similar to that 😂. That's so awkward though, but I'd take it over the locker kabedon any day LOL

If you do replay the game, please tell me if you pick up the hints in Mozu's route! I'd love to know, especially because I picked up NOTHING in his route even at my third playthough. And no need to be ashamed with wanting to replay Shu's route, there's nothing shameful about having spectacular taste. :p

LOL! Midnight ramblings are the best. XD But I can't keep things short even when I'm wide awake in the day, so I can't judge lengthy... well, writings of any kind. XD

And that's so funny we played the same two boys first! You also have fantastic taste because he was also my initial favorite from the get-go ;D I loved his character and the plot of his route. From what I remember, it was really well paced and intriguing. And then his side B was also very sweet. Gotta love tough guys with a soft heart for their girl. I should really replay his again. XD

And holy crap I TOTALLY FORGOT the locker kabedon!!! OH! That was SO DANG AWKWARD! It was so out of place and out of the blue and then we just went on like it never happened! Excuse me while I go screech in the corner like a dying cat because I can not with that scene. XD At least with Sasuke, you expected his awkward flirt (that he didn't realize was a flirt) due to the build up of this "former astrophysicist turned moderately awesome ninja" character of his and the progression of his friendship with the MC. But MOZU! I swear the writers just went "we need to put a kabedon somewhere. You know what? It would be funny if it was Mozu." And the rest was history.

If/when I replay this game, I will remember to inform you of my findings! That is, if there's any to be found. If you can't find anything after 3 times, I doubt I will. XD
