was clearing out my phone's gallery and once again realized how much art i never posted here, so here's a stijn strongbody!

#q #blaseball #tokyo lift #never was a stijn fan per se but i always thought he was kinda fascinating. he definitely had Plans for the lift #the extent of which only started to be uncovered by his successors after his death. #it left yusef wondering how much he had actually predicted and planned for. how much the lift was continuing along a track he had set. #what were his plans? the only person who knew (original elwin) got alted and stijn never trusted the plans to another person afterwards #it's likely whatever plans he set failed anyways without having anyone to keep course after he died. but there's always that doubt. #did stijn know this would happen. did he predict the things that would happen. did he predict gerund's death #idk idk his death was just so neat because it left all these questions that could never be answered. #also he was Science Gay with a interdimensional fungus inhabiting a large dead bug until it used their joint research #to hop dimensions again without saying goodbye and pulled some unwilling alternate version of itself to take its place #so there's also that lol #my blaseball art #buzzart #anyways yeah might be posting some more old art

Gia Holbrook - Blaseball Player

Say hello to Gia Holbrook, pitcher for the Core Mechanics, famed Blaseball team! She has a number of project bodies which she loves to swap around between, sometimes for a serious reasons, but most of the time, just to have some fun! Most notable bodies beyond her humanoid include a countertop blender, a toaster, and a horrifying amalgam robot mouth!

This is based directly on the design created by @flamebunnyy, mixing a couple elements together! Thanks goes to her for providing a bunch of reference material!

This was completed February 14th, 2024.

explanation of the sigils under the cut :3

parker:

touch of death: anything it hits dies instantly

sprinter: card moves in the direction of the arrow at the end of the turn

megan:

rampager: card moves in the direction of the sigil and throws those in the way behind it

fecundity: creates a copy of the card in your hand when it's played

nagomi:

hoarder: when card is played search through your deck and choose 1 card

replusive: if a creature would attack this card, it does not

jaylen:

leader: adjacent cards get +1 power

unkillable: instead of dying the card returns to your hand

mike:

worthy sacrifice: worth 3 blood instead of 1 when sacrificed

tillman:

stinky: decreases opposing creatures power by 1 (mostly i just thought it would be rly funny to give him stinky)

tonight i flee to you, to breathe and in the hush of our together, all my trouble flees

i don’t think i need to state that this silly little number simulator meant a lot to me. i’d wanted to maybe do something a little more grand - and maybe eventually i will - but one of my favorite artists put out a new EP the same day the game’s end was announced, and it served as a kind of bittersweet musical backdrop to the whole thing for me.

there are going to be a million different interpretations of the end of Blaseball, as there rightly should be, but i like to think there are some where everyone gets to be happy. the teletwins deserve that as much as anyone, i think.
