(Klaine) If I Can Make Your Heart My Home - (Klaine Reverse Bang 2023) Life in New York City and working in the restaurant industry wasn’t exactly what Kurt Hummel had expected it would be. He’s lonely, stressed out and miserable. He’s almost ready to throw in the towel and return home to Ohio when a chance meeting with a musician in Central Park changes everything. (Warning: an angsty rollercoaster of a ride. Soooo many cameos from Glee characters! 😉)

(Klaine) Falling For You -(Klaine Secret Santa 2023 - NOW COMPLETE AS OF 4/16/24) - Successful doctor, Blaine Anderson has his hands full heading up the pediatric wing of Sloan Kettering Memorial Hospital in NY City. Life with that job and his precocious 6 year old daughter certainly keeps him on his toes - so much so that he thinks he can avoid dealing with the hole left in his life from the death of his husband. Little does he know that falling in love is on the horizon, quite literally, when he meets a florist by the name of Kurt Hummel. (Kid!fic with a bit of angst but a happy ending)

(RWRB) Puppy Love - (RWRB NYE gift exchange 2023) The cold snowy day that Henry Fox discovers an abandoned beagle puppy in an alley brings handsome, flirty veterinarian, Alex Claremont-Diaz into his life. Alex is a single dad, recently moved to NY with his young son who Henry hasn't met yet - or so Alex thought. (Fluffy kid!fic)

(Klaine) Sanctuary - (Klaine Word Scramble 2023) Crown Prince Blaine has stumbled into a secluded glade, trying to escape the horrors of the bloody war his father had brought upon their kingdom. Mourning his beloved older brother and faced with the burden of taking his place in the kingdom, Blaine yearns for a place to hid from the world to deal with the issues weighing on his heavy heart. He encounters a mysterious elf, the guardian of the magical spring that Blaine has mistakenly defiled, whose growing connection to his life the young prince can't ignore. (Inspired by an idea/ artwork by @datshitrandom and @justgleekout)

(RWRB) I approach, and I withdraw (tentative title) - Historical fic - Alejandro Diaz was still a boy when he followed his father into the thick of the fight for Mexico's independence. A series of unfortunate events, however, led him and his family to flee his home and to adopt new identities for their own safety. Years later, after he finds himself well ensconced in his new life as an attaché to the office of the new American ambassador to England, Alexander Claremont soon finds his past catching up to him. (Inspired by these historical paintings by @stormtrooperjeff17004 as well as artwork from @artofobsession seen here and here.)

(RWRB) Shaken, Not Stirred (Spy!AU) - CIA Officer Alex Claremont Diaz is not new to working on joint operations with other foreign agencies. He does it often and he does it well, which is why his superior, Zahra Bankston, never hesitates to assign them to him. What he wasn't expecting that morning was to be put on a new assignment with his least favorite MI6 operative, Henry Fox - and that they had to use being a newly married couple as their cover to get the job done. (Inspired by this drawing by @noodles-and-tea )

(Klaine) Cuffed (a D/s and soulmate story and prequel to my first ever fic, Trick or Treat) - - Musician Blaine Anderson has always been lonely sub, yearning for a place to belong and someone to belong to. Kurt Hummel is the an overworked and high in demand designer - a Dom with no time to sit and relax and focus on what his needs are. When an old friend hires Kurt to revamp his new club, Kurt's life becomes intertwined with Blaine's in a way neither of them could ignore.

(RWRB) how ardently i admire and love you (online auction!AU) - Alex is desperate to find the perfect birthday gift for Henry, and eventually finds himself in an online bidding war for the one unique item that he knows his boyfriend would just adore.

(Klaine) I Know You Wanna Take Me Home (tentative title) (Klaine Valentines Challenge 2024/Pretty Woman!AU) Well established business man, Kurt Hummel never thought he could find anyone of substance among the escorts at Dalton House. But after being convinced to visit the upscale club by his friend, Kurt's mind is quickly changed once he sets his eyes on a beautiful boy in a gilded cage who was up for auction that night.

(Klaine) Untitled Klaine fic (Klaine Advent 2022) - Set in my Klaine superhero AU - Under The Cover of Darkness) Blaine decides to go home with Kurt for the holidays and doesn't make the best first impression with Kurt's parents.

(Klaine) Untitled Klaine fic (Feudal Japan!AU) - based off of novel The Tokaido Road - On a personal mission to avenge the murder of his father, Kurt travels the Tokaido , braving its dangers and interesting characters on the way. As the son of a nobleman, Kurt travels in disguise, unaware that the person who sanctioned his father's murderer has also sent Blaine, a talented and deadly ronin, to find and kill Kurt as well.

(RWRB)- the phantom touch of your hand (tentative title) - (Fantasy/cursed tattoo fic!AU) Two young swordsmen are determined to vanquish a sorcerer who has laid a tragic curse on them both. The problem is, the curse keeps them from being together at the same time, doomed to travel alone, one by day, the other by night - the only reminder of the other being the cursed tattoo burned into their skin.

(Klaine) - Untitled Klaine fic (While You were Sleeping!AU) - Kurt Hummel always wanted to live in NYC - his dreams were to be on Broadway. Being on the Broadway stage that is. Not working on the corner of Broadway and 44th in one of those coffee/food carts parked out on the street. Things for him change the day that Cooper Anderson, Kurt's gorgeous repeat customer whom he secretly fantasizes about, nearly gets hit by a bus. After following him to the hospital, Kurt gets mistaken for being his crush's fiancee which should have been his dream come true - until he meets Cooper's sweet down to earth brother, Blaine.

(Sebklaine) Untitled Klaine fic (PWP College threesome) - heavily influenced by "one of those movies" - wink, wink . . - Kurt's frustrated ( in more ways than one) and his good friends Blaine and Sebastian find a way to help him out.

(Klaine/RWRB) - Untitled fic (Scheherazade/ 1001 Arabian Nights !AU) - A lone traveler gets captured by a band of sex slavers in the desert. After being subjected to the horrors of slavery, the young man gets rescued by a desert prince in disguise, chosen to be his sole consort. Every evening, the consort tells his prince a story for him amusement. - planning a series of probably shorts all in the same style. Maybe it'll be a collection to do with other writers? Not sure yet. Might alternate with either Henry/Alex being the Prince and Consort and Blaine/Kurt being the characters in the bedtime tales or vice versa. Or maybe create 2 OC to be the Prince/Consort and have the other four boys be the characters in the shorter stories. I'm assuming it would be alot of mature/explicit shorts - but wouldn't mind a mix of other ratings in between as well.

Rare B/W Candid Photos Of Elvis Presley At This Show Taken By Fans Audience Members Who Attended This Show And A Fans Ticket Stub As Well At This Show Performance Concert.

Rolling Stone : In Praise of Elvis Presley By Jon Landau 1971 Brief Concert Review Of This Show Performance Concert By Him.

Concert Date: Elvis Presley November 10, 1971 (8.30 pm). Boston, MA. Boston Garden.

He stands there in a black jump suit with gold spangles and an orange cape. When he stretches out his hands the cape forms a half sun under his outstretched arms and he looks like the true Showman that Is He parades in front of 15,000 people and waits for the applause to wash over him and it comes as it always does and as he knows it will. After strutting from one end of the stage to the other after waiting until he feels just right, and until the audience can't wait another second, he turns to a back-up musican who hands him his acoustic guitar. With the rhythm section churning, he stands in front of the mike, holds but does not play the guitar and sings, 'That's alright mama, that's alright for you, just any way you do'. It was his very first record and it doesn't sound quite the same as when he did it 17 years ago at the Sun studios in Memphis. But I am moved by the fact that he is doing it at all. Following a first half consisting of a wonderful performance by the Sweet Inspirations, a typically tasteless (but well received) attempt at humor on the part of a Las Vegas comedian, and an intermission, the offical Elvis Presley Tour MC called people back to their seats. He is the one and only performer who can simply revel in it and us with him. On the stage itself, Elvis Presley surrounds himself with the best that money can buy. Ronnie Tutt is the only true big-band rock drummer I have ever seen in action (one day Hal Blaine will go out on the road) and he is magnificent. But then too, it isn't every one who has James Burton himself for a lead guitarist and the Sweet Inspirations for a third of the background voices. Not everyone has a personal road manager alternating between playing acoustic guitar and singing backup parts, and handing the star his guitar, clothes, glasses of water, towels, or holding the microphone chord when he starts to move with it. Poor Charlie Hodge even gets introduced as '...the man who hands me my water and my scarves' (which latter Elvis Presley periodically throws into the audience).

All of it is for the greater glory of Elvis Presley himself. Every person on the stage, every article of clothing, every instrument, light, microphone, is a prop. When men solo it isn't for music but effect. The accumulation of effect is the core of Elvis Presley's art. His success at it makes him one of the few touring practitioners of the art of the American musical comedy. His 31 movies have given him enough training so that when we see him today we are watching a musical comedy actor first and a pure musician later. When he combines that talent with his projection of a very personal sort of regality, the result is a beautifully wrought modern-day pageant. He Is Elvis Presley in a class of is own.

Due to the time zones, it's already Thursday, but I'd still like to share my latest writing with you.

I found a bit of inspiration to write my enemies/rivals-to-lover musicians AU, I hope you like this little snippet:

When he reached the table with the refreshments, he let his eyes wander around the room. There he found him again, perhaps 30 feet across from him. But this time he looked up and their eyes met. With a beautiful smile on his lips, the man turned and came straight towards Blaine. And okay, Blaine panicked. He was fascinated by this man, but Dustin's words were still in his head to keep his distance. He did not have enough time to think about what to do when the man reached him.  With his beaming smile, he extended his hand and said in a melodic voice, "Hi, my name is Kurt Hummel." And Blaine? He just stared at him and all he managed to blurt out was, "No, thank you."

I hope you will like this story, but I am still at the beginning of the writing process :D

GLEE POST 001: AUDITION FOR NEW DIRECTIONS

"Uh, hi".

The bright floodlights of the stage made it difficult for Cody to see if there was even anyone watching him. This environment was new to him. Sure, he stood on stage before but that was one time for a high school talent show. And it was vastly different from the well-equipped platform he found himself on at this moment in time.

"I'm Cody, which you know, and I'll be auditioning for the role of Cody within the New Directions," he joked, hiding his slight nerves with his humour. "I think I'll be a good fit as a little birdie named Rachel urged me to try out, plus this other vertically challenged preppy guy has been pushing for this for what seems like forever. Think his name was.. Blair. You might know him," Cody pointed towards Blaine, knowing that they have a solid friendship enough for him to slightly bully him.

Clasping his hands behind his back, Cody stood fiercely and confidently. "Yeah, I think I'd be a good fit for New Directions for many reasons. I am talented, good-looking, and I hold a certain type of ambitious energy that would massively benefit not only myself but everyone within this team. I'm progressing my piano skills, my guitar skills are shit hot which you will see in just a minute".

Clearing his throat Cody bent down, un-clicking the case for his guitar before throwing the strap over his head. The guitar was his grandfather's before he sadly passed away when he was a younger boy. It was crazy, he thought, that his own father and mother were so against musical careers when they, themselves, were brought up by 'could-have-been' musicians. His musical talents were suffocated until they slowly disappeared in his household. His family had no time for 'creative' careers. It was finance and business, or finance and business. So to be stood in front of others singing, on a stage, with a potential to be entering into a club where he could be exposed to a life of performing. The feeling was almost overwhelming.

I had a request with trying to find a fic that was written a while ago. It was about Blaine being a musician and Kurt being a major actor that was still in NYADA. They had a place in New York, but Blaine traveled to Los Angeles to record a lot. I also remeber that Kurt wanted his identity kept secret for a while until he made a name for himself on Broadway.

Christmas Eves (6/21)

Summary: Blaine makes a quick trip to Ohio to see his parents over Christmas. He certainly doesn’t expect to run into his ex-boyfriend Kurt, or to reexamine every aspect of his life, but this Christmas Eve is full of surprises.

Chapter 6: Inscribe

Blaine debated whether or not he should go to the bar.

As weird as the whole experience was, it hadn’t been hard to play along with his parents as though they weren’t saying the same things they’d said to him already. He was comfortable in their presence, and used to following a script in their interactions to a certain extent. In contrast, seeing Kurt had been so unexpected, he wasn’t sure he’d be able to act the exact same way.

But if the plan was to do everything the same, that included seeing Kurt. So he left the house around 10, drove to the bar, ordered a beer, and sat at the same table.

Right on cue, Blaine heard Kurt’s voice behind him. “Excuse me?”

Blaine let Kurt sit down with him, and tried to do everything the same. He couldn’t remember exactly what he’d said that first night, though, and their conversation branched out in slightly new ways.

“What are you up to in LA?” Kurt asked.

“Some acting,” Blaine said, “some music. Teaching piano lessons to make rent in between jobs.”

“That’s amazing,” Kurt said with a smile. “I’m so glad you’ve been able to make a career doing what you love.”

“Yeah.” Blaine fiddled with his beer. Back in high school or college, he would have been ecstatic to know that he’d someday be a working actor and musician. But back then he’d pictured it as so glamorous and fulfilling - belting his heart out on stage, or starring in a movie that would bring people to tears, or hearing a crowd of strangers sing lyrics that he’d written. He’d wanted to help people, to connect with others through art, to inscribe his name in people’s hearts. 

The reality had turned out to be a lot more mundane. He worked so hard to get the most throwaway parts, played other people’s music for pitiful pay, and at the end of the day had little energy to create things he actually cared about.

Blaine tried to steer his conversation with Kurt so that it only covered familiar territory, and he mostly succeeded. Finally, Kurt checked his phone, noticed the time, and said he needed to leave. They said goodbye outside the bar. Blaine hoped that he didn’t have to relive this day, but he was sad to see Kurt walk away. Once he got back to LA, he’d have to look Kurt up on social media and see if they could keep in touch.

He drove home, satisfied with the experiment. If he woke up and it was still the 24th, at least he had a control day. He’d made note of everything that he did, aware of all the variables. Now he just had to get ready for bed, fall asleep, and hope for the best.

Friday BP: Darren Criss to sing anthem for Giants home opener

I was over the moon yesterday when the San Francisco Giants announced that Emmy and Golden Globe award winner Darren Criss will be appearing to sing the national anthem for the home opener on April 7th against the Kansas City Royals.

Criss is perhaps best known for his roles on “Glee” and “American Crime Story: The Assassination of Gianni Versace” (for which he won Emmy and Golden Globe awards in 2018). He is also an accomplished musician, a San Francisco native, and a life long Giants fan.

Full disclosure, I might be one of the biggest Darren Criss fans there is. I’ve followed him since his days on YouTube, where he got his start singing Disney covers, and then with the theater company he co-founded called Starkid Productions, with whom he played Harry Potter in their A Very Potter Musical series.

In the peak years of his run as Blaine Anderson on “Glee” I had hoped to see him get to sing at one of the Giants’ playoff home games in the 2010-2014 championship era, but it was his “Glee” co-star Matthew Morrison (a friend of Barry Zito) who got the opportunity in Game 2 of the 2012 World Series. So this will mark Criss’ first time singing the anthem for his hometown team.

I’ve seen Criss perform live multiple times, most recently when he was starring in a run of Hedwig and the Angry Inch in San Francisco in 2016. Not only was his love for the Giants enshrined in his section of the playbill, but he made repeated references to (then) AT&T Park during the show (which features a fair amount of ad-libbing in the performances).

So I, for one, am even more excited now about the home opener and Giants baseball returning to Oracle Park.
