The melting watch, one of Dalí’s most powerful and potent motifs, continued to play an important role in his art. Two decades after The Persistence of Memory, Dalí recreated his famous work in the painting The Disintegration of the Persistence of Memory (1952-1954). As the title suggests, the painting shows the disintegration of the world depicted in the original painting, reflecting a world changed by the nuclear age. The painting showed Dalí’s growing interest in quantum physics: he added rectangular blocks that represent “the atomic power source” and missile-like objects that reference the atomic bomb. In the late stages of his career, Dalí also produced numerous sculptures of melting watches including

Met Gala 2023.
Fashions change, but there is one look that never goes out of style.

And you bet your a*s it's an itty-bitty-kitty wearing a French Net. But this is not just any kitty-cat: this is Choupette, of the late, great fashion icon Karl Lagerfeld for #met gala 2023.
This year, the great, good, and outrageously sexy gathered at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in the one and only, nEwWĕ yörKę citæyyyyy for the event known as "The Super Bowl of Fashion." Here, a sheer mass of the glitziest, most glam celebz sported pearls, starched collars, and black and white to honor the legendary German designer, who passed away in 2019. For this year's theme, "Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty", invite-only attendees were asked to wear clothes "in honor of Karl". And honor, they did, with an array of designs, dresses, and costumes to astonish, illuminate, and bedazzle. And dashboard beloveds Pedro Pascal, Lizzo, K.Stew, and Harvey Guillén turned heads and served, quite frankly.

A fire broke out at the Museum of Modern Art on April 15, 1958, when repairmen updating the air conditioning accidentally dropped some cigarette ash onto a drop cloth, which ignited several open cans of paint.
The blaze claimed one life and injured 25 others. One of the panels of Monet’s Water Lilies series was completely destroyed by firefighters as they broke into the building. A Jackson Pollock canvas sustained heavy damage but was able to be repaired. The fire led to the formation of MoMA's Conservation Department.
