saw this dumbass post on twt comparing ken and akechi, basically saying how ken immediately tried killing shinjiro but akechi took so many years and wasnt able to kill shido and i just wanna say
akechis plan was never to kill shido, it was to make him suffer the same way akechi and his mother did. to strip him of everything shido thought made him- him. to turn him from a big strong man to absolutely nothing. that was his revenge. he was never a killer, he was taken advantage of. he was an imperfect victim, a child who a monster got his hands on.

You don't have to like Goro Akechi, and there is no excusing his crimes.
But man, if your heart doesn't absolutely break for a kid that's spent his whole life feeling worthless and alone, who feels that his birth, his existence, ruined his mother's life and was the cause of her death, who just wanted to feel special and wanted by literally anyone for anything... idk what to tell you man.

cant stop thinking abt disco elysium. im obsessed w the Pale. i love how its an extremely prominent and fundamental part of that world but it only comes up a handful of times. you can very easily go through the whole game without knowing what it is. its just not super relevant to Harrier’s current situation
when you ask Joyce about it Kitsuragi gets concerned learning about it will break your brain because its such a horrifying thing but its also mundane and every1 knows about it, slowly swallowing the world. its like. imagine waking up with complete amnesia and having someone explain that global warming is happening

New theory after watching ep 6: It wasn't the nanites that got nori. It was her being posessed by the Solver/CYN. Khan had to mercy kill her like he said, but he assumed that the nanites did it to her because he didn't have enough context to know what the solver even was.

inverted murder mystery: "who the fuck killed my archnemesis? i need to thank them personally"
#spoilers + meta for my own fic (a monster might begin to worry) in the tags below bc i just reread it and cried but#if magnus was less depressed and more assured of his own worthiness of being stood up for and protected#then ammbtw would have almost immediately turned into this#instead it doesn't really become this until the final chapter - where magnus finally believes that protecting him was the right thing#before that - when he did have the capacity to “solve” the case; and obviously even *did* solve it with some help -#he was so torn up over motive. over *why* someone would've intervened. and because mags thought so poorly of himself -#he wasn't convinced that killing kalen *was* a heroic act. because sure; magnus felt that kalen deserved it#but he also felt that *he* was getting off easy. that he wasn't having to atone for *his* perceived failures#in that last chapter though. in that last chapter. just when he's lost the ability to remember or comprehend the answer#which is the *same* time he finally claws his way up into good enough mental health to believe that he deserves nice things#*that's* when he finally wants to do my little shitpost above. to give the murderer a truly heartfelt thank you#and the irony is that the killer is right under his nose... and magnus doesn't know; and can never ever know#but instead of being a dark ending a la “the murderer committed the perfect crime and got away; where will they strike next?”#it's a “magnus is safe and loved and supported” ending :) even if he still doesn't know the lengths his family's gone to for him#because he's getting to a place where he can be happy without knowing all the answers :)#a monster might begin to worry

Nemo was that kind of the leader who acted overly familiar with his subordinates. He knew them all by name, knew their habits and quirks. Helped two of his men move homes and lay low after they got under suspicion of the Flaming Fists. Took several starving orphans off the streets and made them into the unholy assasins.
His subordinates could approach him, talk to him, touch him. For him the cult of Bhaal was a family and he made it feel that way for many initiates to come.
He made it feel like a special club with people who are better than everyone else, where people ascended over the "normal" understanding of things, became better beings.
Is it a crime for a wolf to eat a sheep, for a man to crush a rat under his feet? Is it a crime to get rid of the vermins populating YOUR city? No, it's only the right thing to do; this is not only accepted, but expected.
He accidentially lowered the level of religious worship of the entire cult and made it more self-sustained. Of course all of them were doing it in Bhaal's name, for Bhaal, by the Bhaal's will. But holy assasins rarely hear Bhaal the way bhaalspawn does, so they heavily relied on what their leader, the Prodigal Bhaalspawn, told them.
They trusted him, they followed him.
And one day he disappeared and Orin climbed the ladder.
