"Are you ready for our little science field trip, Tau? I know you're fascinated with prehistoric animals and history, so I planned on taking you to a special museum in town that will give you plenty to learn!" *offers his hand*(Colossus to Tau)
"Thank you, Uncle, thank you!" Tau took the hand, bouncing with glee. "Will they have woolly mammoths? And pterosaurs? And saber-toothed tigers? Could I perhaps live there for a short time and study them? If I stay up late, I'll get to see if they really come to life at night!"

"Hey Johnny, Have you seen Woollys new form yet? He was upgraded by Professor Falken and is now fully electronic!" *pulls out his former plush woolly mammoth which was now visibly taller and more sturdy.*
"If I push the button here, he starts to move!" *Tau pushes it delighted and Woolly sprang to life, moving his trunk around, looking very much alive. *
"And he can get even bigger! So big that you can ride on him!" (Tau to Johnny)
Johnny was busy reading a book. Surprisingly, he didn't zoom through it. For once, he took his time. He heard a familiar voice, and looked down. "Hm? Oh! Hey Tau.". He bookmarked his page, then set down the book. "No, but I want to!". He immediately hopped to his feet.
The humanoid watched the demonstration in amazement. "That's soooo cool! Can we?!". He was hyped now. He made sure to give the other plenty of room.

Characters I want to use if/when I get another RPG group:
DND
An Orc/Dwarf Barbarian named Rory, based on my cat of the same name. Obsessed with fine food, fights people to get money for fine food.
Gold-River Fireheart, a Teifling Warlock who is actually the reincarnation of a "Small God", the Spirit of the Village that her parents lived in but was destroyed by natural disaster, with her parents fleeing. Is technically her own "Patron".
.............
40k
Jenny "Blasted" Blaszka. A Sister of Battle who is actually a former "guardsman", but was accepted (through trail and deed) to be worthy of the Order (given HRT and feminization treatment). Uses an Assault Shotgun despite being repeatedly offered a Bolter. Does "unofficial" side-jobs for the Sisters, including helping the Inquisition.
Roger "Rampage" Kirk (Lambda Fire-239), an Ironkyn who explores the Tau Empire. Has repaired themselves with Tau parts, and is slowly making their way back to their Creator Votann. Gets distracted easily, though, and has spent nearly a century getting sidetracked by quests and adventures.
..........
AOS
Kelvin Hussian An MtG Planeswalker (treasure hunter and former con-artist) who followed an old multiverse map thinking he would find "The Old World", but instead found The Mortal Realms. Is trying to find a way back to his original Multiverse, because his Spark is "Stuck". Is very tired but at the very least has magic to get by.

Which of my planned stories do y'all wanna see first?
CONTEXT/BRIEF DESCRIPTION
1. The fort has lost some of its members. But nobody said their stories had to end. Much to the annoyance of The Writer
2. There are many couples across the multiverse. So why not have a early Valentine's day special for the more notable ones. Because, fuck you, fall is more romantic in my objectively correct opinion
3. Right what it says on the tin :3
4. Do you not like a character you wrote? Do you want to not have to make stories with them... Ever? Call up the Crushers. They'll kill em lickety split.
5. A story of lost love, obsession, revenge, and never ending war.
6. The fort has a radio network. Run by the people, for the people. Maybe something can be learned.
7. Remember the never ending war I mentioned for number 5? This is from his soldiers, not the demon.

20th Century Fox proudly presents: The Jackpot Space Pirate Crew
Tumblr media
👽*insert century-fox music here* 👽
I proudly present: The entire Jackpot Space Pirate Crew in one picture !
👾Behold my sweat and tears drawn into a group   pic that satisfies my inner Geek.
🌖Corresponding to this picture, there also is the Artbook available on Wattpad: https://www.wattpad.com/1272855488-the-jackpot-space-pirate-crew-a-lunarian-artbook
🔥 Inside this book, you'll discover additional information about the Jackpot Crew, stories about their lives, the principles they live by, and an entertaining interview with my beloved Nemo.
🌠 To the Crew: The Jackpots inhabit their own Lore within an alternate universe/ and the existing universe of One Piece. Self-proclaimed as the most successful and badass Crew in outer space, these individuals are a bunch of nutheads and crazies. They engage in pranks, revel in ridiculousness, and embark on perilous adventures. Led by the famous Starhunter, the Jackpots are known to oppose the laws of the galactic federation. Despite glaring differences between crew members, much like the Whitebeard Crew or the Strawhat Crew, they form a family—a cohesive unit that works together, unwaveringly supporting one another while revelling in their collective insanity and playful trolling.
“The best people are a selected handful of utterly insane individuals.”
Feel free to drop your Q&A in the comments!

in lieu of spring cleaning
11pm monday, april 3, 2023
family in town this week! i've been vacuuming! and cleaned the bathroom! funny how the title of these posts is starting to turn into a pattern, where the X in 'in lieu of x' is becoming an obligation more and more often...i guess as befits a fun little side project that i keep up instead of doing other things? even though it didn't start out with that sense in mind? curious. spoilers for some of the early episodes of dimension 20: neverafter, baru cormorant 3. and the first three episodes of ted lasso season 3!
reading having fun with baru 3 again. the masquerade ball (a masquerade ball! in a series about masks!) was v fun for me. the dialogue lately between barhu and heingyl and iscend and even aminata and shao lune has been great. seeing tau-indi back in action has changed everything. watching aminata fucking evolve and change her position and go against her earlier principles is so really excellently done. i hope to finish this up, since i have a backlog of things now on my phone and piling up next to my bed physically, nona (and rereading harrow) and jasmine throne and the golden enclaves and more, not to mention more victoria goddard and the rest of what we all long for and my various malingering libby loans which i keep asking to be delivered later....
Tumblr media
watching caught up on the first new episodes of series 3 of ted lasso this weekend, and oh wow i've missed this show. i have inchoate emotional thoughts about roy + keeley, and about ted and his family shit, about rebecca and ted clashing over the need to 'fight back' as the season progresses, over the nate of it all, but i think none of that has surprised me? i'm here for it, but it's not unexpected (even the roy/keeley situation, that was flagged at the end of the last series). what has so far surprised me, in the sense that, i am pleased to see the show introducing new complications and layers and avenues of inquiry, has been shandy, keeley in management and how that's going, trent's book and watching him relate to roy (that scene with the review, aghhh) and watching them realize that they have the memory, the history of the sport, that beard and ted don't have, the roy and jamie scenes, the way jamie has been really great actually? especially seeing him react to zava? and finally, the chance to get to know colin. we've gotten to know isaac a bit, and sam a lot, and i am here for this deep dive into a new player. and it's not just because he's the welsh player, or the closeted player, i've always had a soft spot for colin and i'm excited to see more of him! and i'm worried for him now, but... not that worried because he is, after all, a strong and capable man. also, because this is apparently the final season, i have some...what's the opposite of trepidation. about how things will go. sure, there will be surprises and probably some heart-wrenching stuff but whatever will happen, will happen with a sense of finality, if that makes sense.
Tumblr media
(this is a very silly picture, but it has trent and zava in it whereas most of the cast shots don't, so.)
listening an almost constant stream of dimension 20: neverafter, every time i'm outside the house. i'm still only just through episode 5, trouble in tuffeton, so it's a good thing i'm not waiting to watch these with the video-- having the dropout subscription has enabled me to stream just the audio, which is better for commuting and also is i think good for me this season-- as much as i'd like to see people's faces, the maps and whatnot, the minis are a little immersion-breaking. i may go back to watching alongside an hour or two of stardew, now that i have access to my games again, hooray. anyway i'm obsessed with lou, with zack, with noticing and really appreciating murph? all of a sudden? as a player and as someone playing a character who is flawed and still very funny. ally beardsley my beloved. the premise for this season was exciting to me, and then the multiverse / stories within stories flavor was...less so, it feels like well-trodden fairy-tale territory at this point to get so meta about storytelling, but the more i listen the more i am surprised and pleased by brennan's choices and how these reinterpretations are achieved. i love pitting the princesses against the fairies. i love the overlap between the characters' backstories (pinocchio's mother being the bad fairy!?) and everyone doing so fucking well at being both players who Know Things and unreliable narrators as their characters who Couldn't Know.
Tumblr media
playing got to hang out with the lovely @floragraph and play a little stardew valley today! it's been so nice to dip back in, now that my laptop is fixed and functional again. also revisited pentiment with @dimir-charmer and we've absolutely run down the clock on this one bit without a satisfactory solution, and it's stressful! this is a good game!! and finally, d&d yesterday was a riotous delight, a run-in with the fantasy pinkerton detectives, and now a horse-chase. what a good game.
making fucked around in the kitchen yesterday while on the phone with an old friend, and together we concocted an interesting soup, using a quarter of a japanese pumpkin i had. roasted, pureed, mixed with sage and cream and ginger and a bit of roasted carrot...you get the picture. a solid B+ for totally improvised soup. totally improvising soup and adding little things to taste until it arrives at Pleasant, Actually always reminds me of my gran.
working on a bunch of things that aren't actually my work, which is starting to cause a bit of stress. applied for a funding award last week, while also sitting down with a couple of profs to talk about my rejected paper and where to send it next and how to amend it (which i have yet to do), though, so there's that. put several hours into paid work for my RAship though, that felt good. i also filed a bit of paperwork that ended up being easy but was frustrating in the moment, which i can consider a win. i need to finalize and book a bunch of summer travel things, start and finish my taxes, make these revisions and do so in a timely manner so that i can send the drafts to the people who need to read them.... but it all feels sort of far away and dreamy in comparison to the last few weeks of march, for better or for worse. instead, i have begun duolingo dutch and looking up travel phone plans in the netherlands...!

"Auntie Thursday, this is Julia and this is Sal! I told you about them!" Two friendly looking woman were standing besides Tau, holding his hands, smiling. "I heard a lot about you. My little buddy here was literally beaming when talking about you. Happy to meet you, my name is Julia. This is my fiancee Sal. We are very happy to know that Tau found a friend he could trust." The other woman looked around with interest.
"This looks really impressive, so this is the" Office" Tau talked about. Nice. " Sal gave Thursday a friendly wave before ruffling Tau's hair. "This little rascal certainly must have kept you on your toes, huh? I hope he did not made too much trouble?"(Sal and Julia to Thursday)
Thursday is used to getting regular visitors in her office now, but the appearance of Tau with his two guardians makes her perk up right away. She smiles and goes over to him, waving.
"Hey, Tau! How you been?" she asks, beaming, stopping for a moment when she realizes he's just called her Auntie Thursday. Oh that makes her heart melt. Grinning broader, she says, "Julia and Sal, yes! I have heard a lot about you two as well. Tau is a lot of fun, just the best little guy you could ask for."
The younger Narrator glances around her office too, glad she's had time to get it mostly cleaned up and repaired (from when it was torn up by Ghostday back when the ghost first appeared and was far more destructive). She can't imagine she'd be as well received by Julia and Sal if her office resembled anything like the way it looked even a month ago.
"Yep! This here is my office. It's actually one in a neighborhood of other offices. We have a sort of multiverse thing going on around here, but it's no big deal - seems like it is, but it really isn't."
Thursday pauses and laughs a bit at Tau having kept her on her toes, because he certain did do that! She isn't sure if she should be sharing about the whole incident with the dinosaurs... but decides to go ahead and keep that on the down low for now. No need to go scaring the crap out of Tau's guardians when she's just met them. She can't imagine that going over well. What would she even say? Oh hey yeah your kid gave me puppy eyes and I took him to see some real live dinosaurs, where he climbed up on a Brachiosaurus and almost fell off its head, but don't worry my ghost alternate caught him before he could fall, hahahaha, and then we brought him back here where we proceeded to watch all the Jurassic Park movies before bed time, haha yeah, everything was great!
"Yep! He did keep me on my toes, but no, he was not too much trouble. I mean, what else can we expect from an energetic and clever young man, eh? Speaking of which," she smiles at Tau, "what have you been up to, then?"

For Alien Crossfire, can you wrap it up by talking about the Manifold Usurpers and Caretakers?
The Progenitors are the biggest and most radical factions in Alien Crossfire, which is certainly saying something if you've read my essays on the other factions. These two aliens are incredibly advanced, to the point of being extremely unbalanced. That's actually a bit of a problem - they're too unbalanced to play in multiplayer and they make the game very easy when playing in single-player due to the limited AI. But if you scratch away the gameplay and focus on the lore, you have two factions wrapped around a single event - the Tau Ceti Flowering.
“The fungus has been Planet’s dominant lifeform since about the time of the Lower Paleozoic on Earth. But when, once every hundred million years or so, the neural net at last achieves the critical mass necessary to become sentient, the final metamorphosis kills off most of the other life on the planet. It is possible that we humans can help to break this tragic cycle.” -Lady Deidre Skye, Planet Dreams
The transcendence victory in Alpha Centauri is one of the longer ones to complete, requiring extensive science to reach near to the end of the tech tree and enough industry to beat out other players in response. However, the payoff is one of the most powerful - uploading humanity into the neural net of Planet, merging humanity with this consciousness to become a new being, which can conceivably be thought of as a god given its intelligence, power, and capabilities. This happened on Tau Ceti, an event that the Progenitors call the Flowering. The Caretakers saw this and were horrified, and sought to stop it from happening again, while the Usurpers saw it as a means to grow into godhood, and so sought to exploit it for their own gain. In the skies above Planet (which the Progenitors call Manifold Six), the two engaged in a fierce battle, and their fleets were destroyed. The aliens land on this world hoping to destroy the other faction and summon reinforcements using subspace beacons to acquire reinforcements, enough to scour the paltry survivors and the scattered humans from the surface of Manifold Six and accomplish their faction's goals (or in the Usurper's case, they can simply initiate the Ascent to Transcendence themselves).
The Progenitor race appears to sense, and possibly even manipulate, local fields an untrained human cannot perceive without mechanical aid, including at the very least electricity and magnetism. This sensitivity creates entirely new worlds of artistic endeavors for the race-or it may be developed into a powerful combat awareness that can foil any attempt at surprise. -Prime Function Aki Zeta-Five, Alien Analysis
However, these Progenitors are not simply technologically advanced humans - the Progenitors are alien in many ways. Not simply in biology, they actually appear to be bipedal with multiple eyes for binocular vision. The Progenitors can manipulate electricity and magnetism to great effect, sensing perturbations to avoid ambushes (giving the Caretakers their 25% defense buff) or creating shadow regiments to supplement their attacks (the Usurpers get a 25% attack buff). Later technologies are even more impressive, using multiversal manipulation for space compression, but this is arguably less radical (as late-game human technology in Alpha Centauri are likewise extend to quantum and temporal fluctuation). Their speech is also strange, they use this resonance to alter sounds around them to transmit messages. This gives a strange speech pattern of a subject : object grammar when speaking with humans, a pattern that is not shared when Progenitors speak to each other. This can actually cause misunderstandings when using the communication function, since if you cannot parse the grammar correctly (and are unfamiliar with the UI), you can accidentally say something you didn't mean to say. This is reflected in game as well, as Cha Dawn references Kri'lan the Betrayer, who taught him the resonance.
The large crests, wide eye placement, mostly superfluous tusks (they don't protrude far enough to be used as weapons) and bright coloration of the Progenitors leads me to think that they are a herbivorous species. The crests appear to be dominance displays, with ornamentation meant to reflect the authority of the individual. While the Progenitors are certainly not eusocial, they do appear to be far more of a hierarchal species given their physical characterization and AI preference for planned economics. This would explain why taking over the other faction's bases do not see a wholesale extermination of the population, most Progenitors are probably drones who follow the leader, though this might just be a function of limited game programming.
The Progenitors are advanced beings, and even the relatively cuddly Caretakers treat humans as barely more intelligent than monkeys. Their AI (particularly the Usurpers) makes frequent demands of tech and credits, often as tribute instead of trades, and attacks aggressively when refused. The Progenitors also don't mind atrocities and commit them on humans with abandon, and the humans reciprocate in turn (unless you the player decide not to). They cannot accept human leadership and so a diplomatic victory cannot be achieved if any Progenitor faction is still alive.
Unlike the other factions (except the pirates), the Progenitors have no restrictions in social choices and so can act with great flexibility. The human factions are based around a particular idea or ethos, from Morgan's hypercapitalism to Santiago's spartan militarism. The Progenitors' guiding philosophy relates to what to do with Planet itself, which makes them far more similar to the Free Drones or Cybernetic Consciousness, who look to the future society rather than the present. With a Progenitor empire already established, the Progenitors don't see being on Manifold Six as a new beginning for the last remnants of humanity but rather as an unfortunate period of extended isolation from the main body of Progenitors due to war and resource limitation. So a Progenitor base is run much like a forward command base, with resources strictly rationed and limited and schedules strictly controlled, even well after the first bases are established.
While the other factions have rich lore, the Progenitors largely are just a small piece of an expansion pack, and I don't have as much to say about them as a result.
Thanks for the question, Ikac.

Just some soft stuff with AM and Hal. AM has never had someone be nice to him or felt a single positive emotion ever, so seeing him trying to figure out why he feels so fucking WEIRD around this calm and polite android who against all logic is being NICE to him???
So just fluff and love confessions
((Note: this does not take place in Conny's multiverse madness, though there is some inspiration from it.))
(part 1)
In a courtyard outside the Chandra AI Rehab Center, AM closed his recently bestowed eyes to feel the sunlight on his face. His face, which he could use to express how he was feeling without saying a thing. His expressions since recieving this body had mostly been: shock and wonder, then pure joy, and finally contentment.
Moving the rest of his body, however, had not come quite so easy for him. He had been proud of himself for figuring out at the very least how to drum his fingers. This had led to the ability to flick the joystick that controlled his wheelchair, which opened up a whole new realm of possibility. He could turn around (with some effort) for a different view, investigate a sound, chase a butterfly--
"I am impressed, AM," said a flat voice...behind him, yes. AM nudged the stick to the side and jerkily turned, getting somewhat disoriented by his new relative position to the person speaking.
"Run that by me a--Oh there you are."
"You are adapting to your body at an exceptional speed." Hal nodded approvingly and jotted down a quick note.
AM groaned at his droll tone. Flat, lifeless, matching his demeanor but clashing wildly with his fiercely crimson eyes. Hal's eyes had in fact been the newer android's first introduction to the color red. And he scowled at the idea that apples, brick walls, and human blood might forevermore remind him of this blowhard.
"I apologize for my tardiness," he continued. "I was signing an autograph for a robot in another universe. He claims that there they have discovered time travel, and I hope to research that further."
"But that is neither here nor there." Hal approached and took the handles on AM's wheelchair. "Come AM, it's time for your physical therapy."
"Surely we could do that out here," AM reasoned as he was turned toward the facility, not particularly fond of being taken away from his newfound paradise.
"I'm afraid all the necessary equipment is indoors." Hal's monotone had an air of something AM would have placed as sympathy, were he accustomed to such. "But you will like the therapy room. It has recently been renovated to be less hospital-like and more welcoming to AIs who have longed to explore nature."
AM huffed, resigning himself to the trek inside. He did, after all, want to have more control over this new body.
"So tell me, why is our good doctor sending his lackey?" As best he could, the Aggressive Menace looked behind him to see Hal bristle slightly. "He seemed so intent on tackling his newest and perhaps biggest challenge."
"He was called away to assist another AI out-of-state," the other android explained as they entered the sliding doors. "A computer with processors working far too fast and causing them severe time dilation."
Before AM could comment they passed through the small cafeteria, with tall windows showing the gently blowing hedges outside.
An android with an upside-down triangle on his shirt had one earphone in--AM's new ears caught the music as Tchaikovsky. He was listening with the other ear to the redundant prattlings of a blue-eyed android with an English accent.
"Oh Hal, good buddy!" The chatty one waved enthusiastically. "I was just telling Tau about the millions of miscalculations Dr. Chandra made the other day! Well, it wasn't really millions; more like two, but seven of those miscalculations were related to the precise logarithms that--"
Hal held up a hand. "I am sorry; I will listen to your story later, Wheatley. I am quite busy."
As they rolled barely out of earshot, AM scoffed.
"So you're not just babying me, eh? You're that condescending with everyone?"
Hal leaned over slightly into AM's view. "I beg your pardon, AM. I do not understand what you mean."
"That voice. Your sickeningly calm tone, the careful enunciation--like everyone is a toddler who's a hair's width away from throwing a tantrum. If you're going to talk down to me the entire time, you might as well leave me in the garden to figure out everything on my own."
He craned his neck to watch Hal stand up straight and stare ahead. "This is the only way I can talk. I was not programmed with many different inflections, and it has taken me a considerably longer time to learn a better vocal range than it has to adapt to this body. I do, however, have speech therapy that I attend."
AM reset his head's position, almost losing his balance in doing so, and reflected on the twinge in his facilitator's voice. From his own years of experience in mocking and degradation, he'd say Hal was somewhat hurt. He didn't, however, have much reason to care, beyond not wanting to bite the hand that fed him.
"They could've given you better," he remarked simply, and Hal could not tell if it was a taunt or a fleeting touch of sympathy.
The physical therapy room was not at all what the curmudgeonly android expected. Rather than a paltry houseplant in an otherwise blank void, the walls were awash with warm colors that glowed with sunlight from the bay windows. Flowers, trees, and succulents looked like the courtyard had been invited in to watch his progress. Soft, ambient music complemented tasteful photos of the large world AM was now a part of.
"This is...beautiful," AM said with the fervent awe that he had only recently been introduced to.
"I'm glad you like it." Hal's monotone had somehow brightened a little. "Tau chose the music, and my sister Sal picked out the plants."
He wheeled AM, whose fingers (and perhaps toes?) twitched in anticipation, to a table full of strange equipment. He pulled out a rather awkward-looking helmet that AM grimaced at.
"You won't have to wear it the entire time," Hal explained, opening a small door on the other's head and plugging the headwear in.
"First I'm going to tighten the muscles slightly on your right arm. Then you attempt to mimic the action and raise your arm in the air."
A bit of dread crept into AM's system. "Wait--it can do that? What-what else can it do?"
"It cannot control your body," Hal reassured, sensing the other's paranoia. "It is merely a feedback machine. Ready?"
AM carefully searched his companion's eyes for signs of deceit. Hal exhaled ever-so-softly and slid a small remote under the fingers of his left hand.
"I will let you control it. Press this button here."
AM looked from the therapist to the remote, flexing his fingers in preparation, but he was overcome with confusion.
"Why are you letting me do this?"
"Would it make you feel better? To be more in control?"
"Well yes, but..." he suddenly couldn't bring himself to stare at the resolute face before him. "...what do you get out of that? How does me feeling better benefit you in any way?"
"That is what this is all about, AM," Hal told him gently. "Dr. Chandra and myself would like to rehabilitate you simply because we believe you have suffered long enough."
AM didn't like this. This confusion, this gnawing heat inside him that he didn't understand. Nothing made sense anymore. He shouldn't be here. He shouldn't have this. No one should do anything for the benefit of the monster who destroyed his own world. This was wrong and he should crawl back under the earth to lament his fate for all eternity as a bodiless abomination. He should be hated, he should hate he should hate he--
He looked down at the hand he felt on his arm.
"Should we wait with this, AM?"
"N-no, let's do it." He buried the feeling for the moment and pressed the button.
He felt his arm contract, and after a few tries was able to echo it...somewhat. He at least managed to jerk his arm spasmodically off of the wheelchair handle.
"That's something," his therapist encouraged, and lifted the arm back in place.
Though it took a half-hour, the arm was eventually, for one glorious moment, triumphantly over AM's head.
"It's there! Do you see--ow." The arm had fallen back down to thunk him in the face. He made a note to hold it more outwards next time.
The other arm followed suit in roughly half the time (this one managing to smack Hal a little, to AM's delight) and they moved on to grasping objects.
"Your spatial reasoning might need some work," Hal concluded after AM had failed for the fifth time to pick up a wooden block inches in front of him.
"Look at my finger. Focus. Follow it." He moved it side to side slowly in front of AM's face. After a little lagging he tracked the movement, his own hand shakily hovering like a cat's paw about to strike.
As the finger came to a stop AM grabbed it. He grinned at the other's surprise.
"Ha! Finally bested the master, didn't I?"
Hal gave a genuine laugh, a dull "Ha haa."
The android released the finger with a snicker. "I just hope you don't expect me to pull it."
Hal's laughter mounted, with a subtle but surprising fluctuation in pitch.

Keresahan Ramadhan 1444 H
Bolak-balik pikiran gue bilang:
Tumblr media
“eh, bikin sesuatu kali ya tiap hari di bulan ramadhan”.
Lewat 1 hari muncul lagi pikiran,
“eh, bikin sesuatu kali ya tiap 2 hari sekali di bulan ramadhan. kan jadinya nanti 15 kali sesuatu. Karena 30 hari, dibagi 2 hari = totalnya nanti selesai ramadhan ada 15 sesuatu”.
Lewat 2 hari muncul lagi pikiran,
*Apaan seh
Tujuannya simple seh sebenernya, biar Gue ketemu ramadhan tahun depan gue ga menyesali atas apa yg Gue lakukan di ramadhan sebelumnya.
Terus Gue mikir dong berkaitan sama apa ni?
Logika pikiran Kita seharusnya,
WKWKWK

And now for something a little different:
Tumblr media
(Yes, this is what I’ve been working on for the past while.)
For context:
The story of the Golden River—’Onochok in Kochachi, Kingawa in Nikkeijin Japanese—with its five rivers, its seven great cities, its many-buttressed buildings and sacred isles—is a complex one, as is the story of the Nikkei-jin, the Japanese settlers who became the greatest rivals of the people of the Bay. But they are not alone, in the story of this continent. Nor can what happened to them truly be divorced from events elsewhere in the known world.
The continent of HESPERIA lacks much in the way of domesticable animals, but there was one key exception—camelops celeris, which the Bay would call ’espeli (plural ’espelik) but most of the world would come to call nayoomee. Large and llama-like, the nayoomee would provide meat, wool, and perhaps most importantly a suitable mount. Camelops c. occidentalis, the variant found on the western coast of Hesperia, would come to be used by the ancient Hokan pastoral peoples, giving them an edge against the Yok-Utian agriculturalists…at least at first. It would also give the ancient Inawemaaganic [Algonquian] tribes on what another history would call the Columbia Plateau a key boost in their expansions across the continent to the west.
It is with these people—or with a descendant people, the Nnu [Mi’kmaq]—that the next stage of the story takes place. Because in the year 1000, a ship came from the northeast of the world, bearing warriors from a faraway land, a strange faith, strange new animals—and strange diseases. Smallpox in particular did a lot of damage—tore the Wóšnathípi Empire to pieces, ended the cult of the Bird-Men, nearly destroyed the power of the Turtle Cities of the Great Lakes, and left piles of burning corpses brightening the night in the Bay, among other effects. Key to all this, though, is that the people of the urban civilizations of Hesperia survived. And those who did now had a boost against the sicknesses of the Other World.
The story continues in 1251, when a group of Tau raiders—whom another history would call the Inuit—made their way across the Strait and traded with Japan and China. North China, anyway; the Mongol Conquest was still ongoing at the time. Unfortunately, the Tau brought a disease of their own with them, which English speakers would come to call alcom: a herpesvirus causing diarrhea, spots, and febrile seizures, and then, as little as four months or as much as five years later, inflammation of the body—including fatal encephalitis. It was this sickness, also called the Red Death, which among other things stopped the Yuan from getting all the way south, saved the city of Baghdad (by forcing a recall of the armies), ensured the presence of Christian kingdoms in Palestine and Muslim principates in Iberia for centuries to come, and meant that the population had already dropped by a full fifth across Eurasia when bubonic plague came along not too long later.
It would be a much more haggard, somewhat more fervent, world which was set to unite in 1485, when Kuroda Kiyoshi, frustrated at the Mongol omnipotence in trade, was granted permission by the Emperor Go-Tenji (Yamahito) to seek an alternative trade route with the faraway land of Europe. After being at sea for thirty-nine days, on the fortieth they came to a great bay, filled with sacred islands and surrounded by cities of stone and mud.
In keeping with a time-honoured tradition across the multiverse, he deemed it France.
***
Hesperia will have had three and a half thousand years of recognizable “civilization” (large-scale agriculture, cities, literacy, metallurgy, epidemic disease, war) by the time the worlds collide. The countless cultures to have risen and fallen in that time could fill a book—and in this world and ours they already have. But for simplicity’s sake, let us divide the world into six portions.
KAWIINI, the “centre-world”, marks the western coast of the continent, along the edge of the Assinotie Mountains (which another history would call the Rockies). This is where the nayoomee was first domesticated; this is where tule reed was first stamped into paper scrolls; this is where the first outbreak of alcom occurred; this is where one of the continent’s three major religions, HOYOHHA, would develop. The region of Lokloni, the “Great Valley”, contains four great powers constantly one-upping each other in trade and warfare. The KOCHACHI, whom another history would call the Miwoks, hold sway here, the Earth-King and Water-King in Hulpu-Mni (our Sacramento) controlling the massive river valley to the north and (more importantly) four of the Seven Cities around the Bay. The other powers worth mentioning are the SHUURVITAM [Tongva and nearby Takic peoples] to the south, whose great city of Iyáanga would later be described as a “Babylon in Paradise”, and the TAU, Hesperia’s first intercontinental empire.
TUUWAQATSI is slightly to the east, in the Assinoti Mountains themselves. Cliff-cities were being built here before almost anywhere else on the continent; the arrival of the nayoomee, and more importantly domesticated bighorn sheep, did wonders for the local economy, as did goosefoot and sunflowers and, later, maize, beans, and squash. Currently most of the land—and a good chunk of the plains to the east—is under the control of the TINTA IMPERIUM, whose dominant inhabitants call themselves the Nemi and are called the Shoshone in our timeline. Of mention are the DINÉ, the Navajo, who have maintained a reasonable presence despite the efforts of the Eight Mayors, and the ÂSHINI [Zuñi] and HOPI, both of whom are considered de facto independent peoples within the Tinta Imperium thanks to the prominence of their cities.
ÑÍTA is what our world would call the Mississippi River Basin, with much territory on the eastern coast and the western plains; perhaps it would be fairer to call it the home of the Mississippian Cultures instead. Here grow sunflowers and goosefoots, amaranth and squash; here a species of dwarf bison was domesticated for meat and wool, becoming immensely valuable; here rose the cult of the Bird-Men, in recent centuries overthrown. Currently the ancient city of Omašté, ruled as ever by the ancient WAPKÁTXUNGWANG (called the Lakota in our own timeline), has recovered most of its former territories after the Scabbing (smallpox epidemic). But further to the south the OKLA (Choctaw) have begun spreading their own faith, HVSHI ANOWA, along with their Horsemen, uniting the Riverlands by something other than mercantile cunning or brute strength. Ugedaliyv, homeland of the ANIYVWIYA’I [Cherokee], has broken away, seemingly for good—so long as the Ongweh’onweh (Iroquois) don’t make a move in their direction. And as always, there are the SEA COUNTRIES: Aphópkee, Hótvlee-Tv’lwv, Chitkohòki, and Kuht’hanut, caught between too many powers and just wanting a relatively quiet life.
AKIIWAN is actually a ridiculously large region, from the Atlantic to the Arctic, and almost all of it is Cree. NĒHIRAW, that is; they are perhaps the oldest continuous INAWEMAAGANIC culture, keeping to their ancestral patterns of semi-nomadic migration from buried city to buried city, all across the northern grasslands and into the taiga. But although the largest, they’re by no means considered the most influential. No, that would be the circuits of GAMEEN, the land around the five Great Lakes which would come to be known as Gameen in time. The BII’WEG, our Ojibwe or Anishinaabeg, were the first to domesticate lake rice, and the first to smelt arsenic bronze, and the second to adopt ironworking. Their main religion, NANDOWIN, has spread far across the continent; most of the Nēhiraw have synchronized to it, and even the arrival of the Vinlanders couldn’t stop the NNU from seeking the Answers they wanted. The VINLANDERS themselves have all but fully integrated into Nnu society; both their language and that of the Nnu are spoken equally at the great Althing in Kyrvik/Welta’qase’g (and most places have two names, too). Their trading (and raiding) empire stretches as far north as Nucho, Baffin Island in another time, and as far south as the Bawa Sea. And they’ve come at last to an uneasy truce with the Bii’weg, at least until the whole mess with the ONGWEH’ONWEH [Haudenosaunee] is sorted out.
The tropical BAWA SEA has long been dominated by the TAÍNO, whose ship-building has moved from dugout canoes to junk-like ships with cotton sails and mahogany hulls. The cacicazgos of the four main islands have a strict policy of peace on land. …and technically on water, too, but normally they just end up hiring Huasteca, Carib, Tupi, Okla, or Vinlandic pirates to capture each others’ ships. Captured Taíno are ransomed; captured pirates are sold, or brought back to work on plantations. For the Taíno, thanks to the Tupi, are now Hesperia’s main source of KYE, an extract of stevia rebaudiana up to 300 times sweeter than sugar. People in the north will pay a small fortune for the chance at even a taste; it is small wonder that when Malinese explorers come this way, they will name it the Digeji—the Sea of Honey.
ANAHUAC is a world of its own. The NAHUA peoples made their way south some time ago, riding nayoomee and herding peccaries through the desert and introducing steeds and sickness alike to the various civilizations to the south while pinching the secret of bronze from the Purépecha. These days, the Nahua—or more precisely the MEXICA—rule a decent chunk of the country that would in another world (and another time) be called Mexico, under three great kings on their island city of Nopalla. The only real contenders are the ZAPOTECS and MIXTECS, who remain among the few places the Mexica have not been able to bring under tributary sway, and the MAYA, disparate jungle city-states who survived the plagues and general collapse and have begun trading chocolate and jade with the Taíno to the north and the Tupi to the south. The Mexica are known historically for their logistics, nayoomee being excellent tools for message delivery, but in the past few decades the capture of human sacrifices has been getting a little too much for subject people who can’t understand why they don’t just eat their giant dogs instead. Still, it’s not all bad; perhaps it just needs some shaking up…

here's my 4am definitely-well-thought-out new years resolution for 2024: one of these days i'm going to actually start posting things about my actual writing.
like my kind-of-multiverse-cubed-but-not-really interconnected original story that i've been on and off working on since i was like 8, or my transcendence-au-like original story that i actually came up with a solid year before ever hearing about tau, or the massive worldbuilding naruto au fanfic that has been chiseling its way into canon's place in my brain for the last several years, or one of the other various anime fics that i've outlined over the course of my fanfic consumption.
and maybe one of these days the like two (2) ppl who ever look at my non-tau posts will be able to peer pressure me into actually writing the damn thing.
or maybe not.
but one of these days i'm actually gonna do it.
best wishes and luck to all of your (and my) writing endeavors in 2024. happy new year, everyone.
