Coffee-scented kisses

Tim fell in love with a barista. At first he had wondered if it was simply a mistake, to transfer his love for coffee to the person who produced it, but slowly he realized it was a little more than that.

Danny, the new barista, didn't really criticize him when he ordered 8 coffees a day, as long as he was on shift. He also didn't ask him about his health insurance every time he ordered Death Wish, and even made sure to make small talk every time he delivered his coffee.

It had only been a few days since he was hired but Tim fell in love with his small talk, his care, and of course, his coffee.

Then, when Danny was suspected of working with Two Face he was heartbroken. The boy was probably innocent, but he couldn't get out of his head that nothing in Gotham was simple, everyone kept secrets, including himself. So he made up his mind to stay away from Danny, for his sake.

Danny, for his part, was Harvey Dent's assistant and a part-time barista, he just wanted to distract himself and Harvey was strangely sympathetic after telling him about running away from home. Kind of like a guy you stay with during the vacations, but more permanent.

The halfa started to worry when the cute boy from the cafe stopped coming, maybe he was in danger? Danny couldn't help but worry, but when his coworkers told him Tim was coming in on other shifts he wondered if the boy was avoiding him.

#kingdom hearts dream drop distance #khddd #the world that never was #scenery #my gif #i really love how sora's side of this world is dark and eerie and fully leans into how dreams can distort and twist reality #the city looks mostly normal at first aside from the ghostly fog that seeps down from buildings and drifts along the floor and rises up #but as you keep going the ground beneath you is no longer a street but rather the faces of more buildings that stretch over an abyss #it's no longer the sprawling city you first arrived in but instead an uncanny one way path towards your destination #the buildings now twist and contort and are crooked and grow out of the ground in all kinds of ways that make no logical sense #it's the first time that a sleeping world looks easily distinguishable from the real world. it looks wrong. like a nightmare #meanwhile riku's half contrasts heavily by appearing to be fairly normal #the interior of the real castle never made any practical sense so nothing here feels too out of place compared to how it usually looks #it shows how much more in control riku is in comparison to how sora is losing his grip on reality as he descends further into their trap #cool stuff! love me some environmental storytelling #also i finished giffing every world in this game yippee i'm done (is covered head to toe in blood)

One thing that was very interesting to me in this episode is the way Eddie was just... not joking about Buck's love interests.

That stuck out.

Usually when Eddie talks to Buck about his love interests, it's with an edge of fond exasperation, teasing laced around his gently delivered truths, but there was none of that this episode. Buck told Eddie he went to see Natalia and it was like something switched. Eddie's entire affect changed when Buck started talking about Natalia. He went from being loose and easy (as loose and easy as one can get when standing at a grave) to being... not combative, necessarily, but visibly actively not wanting to engage in conversation about her either, and it's not...

It's not even jealousy!! We joke a lot about Eddie and jealousy, but it wasn't that at all. It was a fatigue that comes with silence, that comes with holding your tongue, that comes with keeping secrets. Especially when Buck said that he feels like Natalia sees him. That look Eddie gave him immediately after? That was pure hurt. That was him saying I see you too, I've always seen you. But he can't say that. He can't say that, because to say that would be to say so many other things about the way he sees Buck, and to say so many other things would mean to have to unstick his tongue from the roof of his mouth about the ONE thing he's been holding onto ever since he was shot.

I don't know. I don't know, but I think Eddie taking Buck on a date and I think about how Eddie left his son—his heart—in Buck's care so they could bake cookies together (which becomes profoundly more significant in an episode where Christopher was talking about baking smores with his mom), and I think about Kenny saying Ryan has been doing some very nuanced work in the back half of this season, I'm like

Oh. Oh. I see it, thank you. Loud and clear.

#Before 5B I was like 'Eddie's pining era Eddie's pining era WHEN?'#but babes we are right in the thick of it. It's in his eyes. It's in his smile. It's in the way he looks Buck #in the way he treats him. In the way he creates space for his confusion for his fatigue for his grief.#In the way he shows quiet support and a stern shoulder to lean upon #In the way he doesn't burden Buck with his own feelings (even though that's mostly selfish on his part because #no part of Eddie will ever be a burden on Buck but Eddie doesn't know that yet)#It's just. Eddie's feelings for Buck are literally in *everything* he says and everything he does #It bleeds from him just like his blood did on that street.#If everything about Buck/Eddie's lives have been shrouded by the shooting since it happened #everything about their lives has *also* been shrouded by Eddie's enormous and unflinching love for him #and he keeps holding his breath and swallowing it down and putting off the moment where he pulls back the lid #and it all spills out and before he knows it... before he knows it #it's going to be too late. And instead of his blood staining the street it's going to be Buck's and he's going to tell him #but he won't hear him because Eddie was too slow too fucking slow #(did we all peep the watch on his wrist? Yeah. Time is running out Eddie. Time is running out and it is not going to #wait for fear to release its hold on you. Buck's not going to cheat death again. Don't waste time babe)#Anyways. Yeah. lloyd 'survived on one meal per day for years' frontera would absolutely see sharing food as a love language and javier 'lived in the streets for months as a child' asrahan would be fluent in it

i do believe there is a point in their lives where they both heal from the trauma of going through severe food insecurity but neither of them ever quite really forget just how important food can be. and when the other shares their food with them, they appreciate it as the show of affection it was meant to be

#i talk a lot <3 #tged #the greatest estate developer #lloyd frontera #javier asrahan #i've talked before about food as a love language in tged which mostly affects the relationship between marbella and lloyd #but i do think it would bleed over to other aspects in lloyd's life #and there's a scene in the hell arc where javier figures out something is wrong because lloyd complains about the food #something javier notes he never does. no matter the quality of the food how plain or unpleasant it is lloyd never complains about it #and he explicitly calls it out as the way someone that had been starving for years and knew the preciousness of food would act #which if you then take into account that this is been said by a person that survived on his own as a five year old child in the streets #in the middle of winter... well. it sounds less like speculation and more like someone speaking from experience.#anyway. all this to say lloyd would peel an orange and then give half of it to javier and javier would absolutely swoon #and when they're on the road and they sit down to eat javier will always give the fuller plate to lloyd #and lloyd will have to swallow the knot in his throat before he can start eating #llojavi #yeah fine i'll tag it

its so silly but i just keep thinking abt being in norway and seeing for the first time kinda ever that like governments can do things to make peoples life better. for no other reason but just to improve things. like im sure norway has lots of problems i didnt see on a trip but i cannot stress how insane it was that the government had done things because it would be nice. to take care of people. ?????

#tour guide like yeah the minimum wage is decent here its 220 NOK (roughly ovr $22) but its not perfect and literally evryone in our group #being like $22??!?!?!???!?!!? MINIMUM!??!??!!?#i keep thinking about taking the bus and trams in oslo :( and abt walking IN THE STREET in bergen wjthout getting run over #or the restaurant on top of the bergen funiculr mountain getting state owned this year bc it was mismanaged ans going under but #everyone would like there to be a restaurant there so the government just decided to make sure there would be one????#instead ofbjust letting it die???#or ALL THE OIL AND POWER BEING STATE OWNED. HELLO?#its just insane idk. that things can for real be different. where i am theres a revolutionary amt of public teansport for a not huge city #but its still basically one bus and then the slowest most fucked up train in the whole world (40min drive = 2.5 hours by train)#assuming uh thw train doesnt get stuck again lol #it mostly exists to take mormon missionaries to the airport i think lol.#the 'walkable' old town section still has 4 and 6 lane roads you have to cross every block.#i dont know its just... its. augh!!!!!!!!#birdenest #we told one guy the minimum wage for waitstaff was about 21 NOK and he didnt believe us and got upset that we were lying
