Time Sensitive- Apply before August 25th, 2023 (8/25/23)!
Filing a claim takes less than ten minutes, and can be done HERE
Excerpt from article:
Anyone in the U.S. who used Facebook in the last 16 years can now collect a piece of a $725 million settlement by parent company Meta tied to privacy violations — as long as they fill out a claim on a website set up to pay out money to the social network's users.
The settlement stems from multiple lawsuits that were brought against Facebook by users who claimed that the company improperly shared their data with third-party sources such as advertisers and data brokers. The litigation began after Facebook was embroiled in a privacy scandal in 2018 with Cambridge Analytica, which scraped user data from the site as part of an effort to profile voters.
Meta denied any liability or wrongdoing under the settlement, according to the recently created class-action website. However, the agreement means that U.S. residents who used Facebook between May 24, 2007, and December 22, 2022, can file a monetary claim as long as they do so before August 25, 2023.
Please reblog to signal boost this! As many people as possible should know about this to make their claim, if you don't do anything you don't get anything. It takes less than ten minutes to file and pick your payment option including pay/pal and ven/mo .

Experts say that while inflation undeniably has an impact on the stock market, it's a lot more complicated than basic cause-and-effect. Inflation has an undeniable impact on stocks, but it's not a cause-and-effect relationship. (Feed generated with FetchRSS)

I'm watching the documentary series "Dirty Money" and god is it a reminder that most people in the US don't know or understand truly rich people. I went to an ivy league university and I saw true wealth. Students with family mansions in the hamptons, with jobs set up at major banks the minute they graduated. Students whose families bought them houses to live in, who posted IG photos of them in different luxurious lodgings in every country of the world. I follow someone from uni on IG who regularly gets helicopters from her manhattan apt to the JFK airport. I had a friend whose date (an undergrad student) picked her up in a porsche. It is so damn frustrating to discuss wealth inequity now that I'm out of that world because most people from my hometown and where I currently live think doctors, lawyers, and small business owners (even slightly larger businesses) are upper class. This is not to say those professionals aren't financially privileged and middle class but they still work for the most part for their wealth; real rich people DO NOT DO THAT-they have properties, investments, and businesses that work for them. Real rich people buy thousands of dollars of luxury items with full intent of never wearing them. They have dinners with politicians and their children catered by the university. They have last names you'd recognize vaguely from CNN. This little rambling has no point except to remind everyone that it is likely an average person will never ever interact with the type of person that should be one of the rich we tax or eat, depending on your preference lol

Take it easy dude but take it
Okay so, as I said, it's pretty clear that Kosa won't pass or it will stay the place it is now for a while, even social media are opposing to it because they agree or not with their anti-lgbt+ stuff they realize that it would take away a lot of their users (For fucks sake, even Google seems to oppose) The main reason Kosa became a bigger problem this year is because a co-sponsor of Kosa managed to convince that the people who opposed to Kosa were on their side now, which was not true because he only convinced those people to be neutral instead of fully opposing And because we have been pretty loud and people of power are also taking action in making sure it doesn't pass, I will say, we are safe
However and here's where the title makes sense, because of one little inconvenient Kosa almost passed, which is why i'm gonna ask you, even after Kosa doesn't passes, please DON'T forget about it, chill out, take your time to be away from this issue and celebrate, but every now and then keep checking on Kosa to see the news because they're clearly not giving up
And at the very first instance that they will try to pass it again, immediately start sending emails, making calls and signing up against it, the more loud we are the more unlikely it'll pass
With that said, I will probably make posts about Kosa if something big happens that requires it, as I'm adding a Kosa thing on my pinned post in a minute, I also want to take it easy, I did everything I can which is signing up every petition (ONCE) against Kosa that I could find and wrote an email

Over one-third of buyers who closed on a home during the last two years believe they overpaid. Pandemic-era buyers are twice as likely to believe they paid too much. (Feed generated with FetchRSS)

I'm honestly very disappointed in rusty quill for that better help sponsorship on the last magnus protocol episode. I understand if the show can't be made on just the kickstarter and patreon money but better help is a shit company that has been known to sell their user's sensitive health information long before the ftc literally fined them for it. No amount of money should be worth advertising such a company to your fans. Vetting sponsors is common practice and literally one google search on rq's part should have prevented this. Shameful
