UPDATE JUNE 8: Curseforge has stated that it has cleaned off the files from the platform and has added detection for future attacks. Along with other information [link]
There as been a security vulnerability in the CurseForge and Bukkit platform. It has been suspected that someone got into alot people's accounts, and updated their mods to include Malware. [source]
Do NOT suspect that older mods and modpacks are safe, as this malware has been found in older mods as well. If you have updated a few mods from curseforge very recently click the source link and it will tell you if it is one of the known mods/plugins to be compromised.
If you want to install minecraft mods, for the meantime use different platforms, but make sure the launcher you are installing from isn't installing from curseforge. Launchers do not auto update unless you allow them to. Modrinth isn't suspected to be compromised.
Update: I do want to give the update with the link of Curseforge's official statement. Currently at the time of writing it has a better list of the effected mods and an easier tutorial on how to check if you have it. [link]
If you got infected, update all your passwords and do not play minecraft till fixed. As there are signs the malware is self-replicating.

this is the modpack used in the 100 days video!!! it works best on curseforge!
this runs on 1.12.2 forge, and while it may be missing a few smaller mods its still got just about every single other mod included. live your dreams.
the map is just a standard lost cities generated map. look into that mod for some more info! it was likely a safe city, but with loot manually added in. stuff was also messed around with in the config files

You may have noticed that I have way more equipped than what the vanilla (for 1.7.10) game would allow. This is a modpack I made with the goal of having the most amount of equipment slots possible. Each inventory I have is under the cut.
Above is the inventory from the Aether Legacy. It gives me a pendant slot, two ring slots, a cape slot (even though I already have the cape from transferring my Mojang account to a Microsoft account), a Shield slot (and what I have in there is the only thing that can go in there), a gloves slot, and two accessory slots.
Above is the inventory system from Mine & Blade: Battlegear 2. I first encountered it as something that facilitates dual wielding, though when I recorded it for a video (showcasing some of the mods that would be in Descension & Ascension, a story of mine evidently based on a Minecraft modded survival that can never happen) I never tried attacking with my off hand and mistakenly thought my version of the mod got rid of dual wielding.
Above is the Runescape inventory. Its amulet is "behind" the pendant slot from the Aether. And its gloves overlap with the ones from Aether.
Finally, here's the Galacticraft equipment slots. I can only access these in Survival mode. This allows me to put on thermal padding for my head, chest, legs, and feet, something to let me hear in space, an oxygen helmet, gear, and two tanks, and a parachute.
In total and counting the vanilla armor, that's thirty two inventory slots.
