Ok, now I'm curious. How different are the mob skeletons reactions to finding their soulmate and having to share them from their reactions from "Cheating Death"?
Well, different enough. The main difference here is that their SOULmate isn't on the verge of having their SOUL shattered, and they don't have complete control over them at the moment either. In Cheating Death, everyone thinks Mc is dead, so obviously they're not going to go looking for her. If the Mob boys kidnapped Mc in any other context, there's likely people that would go searching for her and they'd have a harder time keeping her.
Their possessiveness is the same though, they all want her. This is something that'll somewhat touched upon in Bad Habits actually, though not as explicit. The term SOULmate won't even show up. That possessiveness clashes with a lot of things, and some are better about it than others. Or better at hiding it at least.
The Mob boys don't trust really anyone besides their brothers, so they are NOT down with sharing their SOULmate with anyone else. They wouldn't even share a regular datemate with anyone outside of their brother, much less someone they share a SOUL with. They especially don't want to share with different versions of themselves. Some are just better at hiding this fact than others.
Elated at finding their SOULmate: Lucky (Mobswap Sans)
Elated, but somewhat reluctant to engage: Ace (Mobtale Papyrus), Strike (Mobswap Papyrus), Clip (Mobswapfell Papyrus), Doll (Moblust Sans), Sheba (Moblust Papyrus)
A bit reluctant to do anything about this: Guns (Mobtale Sans), Gamble (Mob G!Sans), Vig (Mob G!Papyrus), Hit (Mobfell Sans), Sniper (Mobfell Papyrus)
Doesn't know what to DO: Capo (Mobswapfell Sans), Pass (Horrormob Sans), Button (Horrormob Papyrus)

For the imagines!! Horrortale, Mobfell and Swapfell. Reacting to their s/o. Their s/o tends to run when they get flustered and they smack into the nearest wall trying to flee.
Tumblr media
Oh my god, Anon, that is took fucking funny to visualize... fucking mood tho. I’d probably do the same ;;>>
Skull (ht!sans): He would immediately run to you, worried he scared you so badly that you had to run away from him. He didn’t mean to be frightening. But as soon as he picks you up, and sees your flustered face he immediately softens and picks up the flirts again. You ain’t getting away that easy ;)
Bones (ht!paps): He has a similar reaction to Skull, chasing after you and picking you up from where you crumpled on the floor, then quickly reassuring you he won’t fluster you so badly as that ever again. Only light flirting, so he doesn’t have to scold you for hitting your head again.
Smoke (mf!sans): He breaks into laughter, bending over as he clutches his belly, before walking over to you, barely stifling giggles, and picks your flustered self up. That was too adorable, there is no way he isn’t going to do that again. But next time he’s going to film it. If he can figure out how his phone camera works.
Doom (mf!paps): He is stunned, watching you slam into the wall, he absolutely didn’t expect his mild flirting to fluster you so badly you would want to immediately leave his presence. He scoffs and picks you up from the floor, helping straighten you out and be sure you don’t have a concussion before scolding you for running. Next time, he’ll make sure you can’t run away when he flirts with you...
Wine (sf!sans): He pauses, never thought innocent flirts could so easily fluster you. He takes careful note of that as he helps you up from the floor. Quire unsure of how to respond as he awkwardly refuses to make eye contact with you. Wine is the type to get flustered if you’re flustered so, he hardly knows what to do with himself. Next time it might be him who slams into the wall.
Cinnamon (sf!paps): He’s worried he broke you after he watches you slam into the wall, but he can’t help but find it adorably funny. Figuring you must have hurt something he offers to get you a snack or something to help. After he’s found you’re perfectly okay, he proceeds to make jabs and jokes, further flustering you. He will never let you live this down.

Jivin’ Bones (Chapter Two)
Summary: The above world isn’t what Sans thought it would be, not that he had ever given it much thought. With all his old friends busy living their own lives, even Papyrus away from home more often than not— Sans is left to entertain himself. Bored, he turns back to the Underground. To the broken machine hidden in the back of his workshop. In the process of fixing it, the machine malfunctions and sends Sans into an alternate world.
Thrust into a harsher reality, Sans must survive long enough to find a way back home… while being pursued by a version of himself that’s all too interested to know who the new skeleton in town is.
Inspired/Influenced by Sooner or Later You’re Gonna be Mine
Pairing: Bara!Mobfell Sans/Sans
Warnings: Mature, Graphic Violence, Sexual Content
                                                Chapter Two
Pop.
Sans blinked once, twice, looking from the empty bar stool to his own held out hand.
Had that little… no, not possible. It was a well-known fact that Sans was the only monster in all of the world who could teleport. It was a powerful ability that required a lot of magic, more than some puny, calcium deficient looking skeleton could pull off.
The ability couldn’t be called rare, because that implied there were others who had it. Teleportation was a one-of-a-kind type of power that had monsters jumping at their own shadows and turning to look down every dark alley they passed. Just out of fear that the most mobile of the Gaster brothers would be there. The terror he had painstakingly crafted for years around the use of such an ability was a point of pride for Sans.
But if not teleportation, what other explanation could there be for the loud, familiar pop sound followed by the sudden disappearance of the runt? Unless the runt had turned to dust right in front of him out of sheer terror after learning just who he’d been insulting, but as there was no dust on the bar stool; Sans couldn’t think of another explanation.
And sans any other explanation, he would have to accept the most obvious one available to him, for the time being. Could be teleportation was a skeletal ability. There wasn’t a large enough population of them to really know. Only three- now four.
But if the runt had teleported, that would mean….
Why, of all the disrespectful, insolent, downright rude—That little daisy had run out on him!
Sans’ open hand clenched into a fist, the bones pressed together tightly as he shook with barely contained fury.
“That little…” Glaring at where the stranger had been sitting, Sans slammed his fist onto the counter, cracking it. “Grilby, get your flamin’ ass out here!” He shouted, anger burning hot in his chest.
Just wait until he catches that grifter, Sans will show him what comes of taking one of the Gaster brothers for a sucker. He’ll bend those slender fingers back until he hears them snap, and he won’t stop until that daisy apologizes proper for his rude behavior. He’ll—
“You called?” Grilby said loftily, interrupting Sans’ angry internal tirade and acting like a man who’s done no wrong. The flame monster looked around the bar, from the bar stool, to Sans, to the door. A slight smile spreading across the man’s face as he noticed the lack of miniature skeleton in the room.
“Who the fuck else?” Sans snapped. His language always deteriorated with his mood, and right now he was in a real fucking bad one. Called before the sun could even rise about some strange skeleton, only to show up and have the stranger act all uppity and disappear like he had that right. And now this trash was smiling at Sans like he was the one who messed up.
If only Grilby could read a fucking room.
“You lost him,” the flame monster announced, eyes slight in that taunting way.
Sans responded by reaching across the counter, grabbing Grilby by the front of his cheap jacket, and pulling him half way over it to glare directly into the flame monster’s face. He’s not about to be disrespected twice in one night. Especially not by some do-nothing bar keep.
“Might lose somethin’ else if you don’t watch your fuckin’ tone.” Sans threatened
“You can’t kill me, big brother’s orders.” The flame monster smirked at him. But Grilby wasn’t as effective at coming off unthreatened as the little skeleton had, Sans noted. He could see the purple flames losing their brightness, he could see the shadow of fear darkening those lilac eyes. Grilby shook slightly in Sans’ grip, his breathing was shallow and uneven from poorly concealed panic.
Not that he blamed the flame monster. In all honesty, they both knew Sans had killed for less than a little back talk. Just like they both knew, Gaster’s orders be damned, he’d kill Grilby if he pushed the familiar attitude too far. Sans didn’t tolerate flipmouths well on the best of days, and today was not turning out to be a good fucking day.
It was reassuring though, to see that after the disappearing stint that runt had pulled, he hadn’t actually lost his terrifying touch. That little daisy’s nonchalance had simply been a fluke. The knowledge did wonders for Sans’ temper.
His grip on the other’s jacket loosened, but he didn’t let go. His expression shifted from murderous to calculating. Both threatening in their own, unique ways. Grilby might have gotten the point; that he couldn’t talk to Sans like they were anything close to equals. But Sans still needed to hammer that nail in deeper. Maybe splinter the wood in the process, it all depended on how well Grilby understood the deal that was about to be made.
And if it came across as Sans taking his anger at the little daisy out on Grilby, then he had that right too.
He lowered the other monster just enough that his feet touched the ground. Enough that Sans once again towered over him, eyes glowing bright as he regarded the smaller monster with a calm he didn’t feel. The thinnest wisp of red magic beginning to leak out of his left eye-socket.
Grilby gulped and Sans smiled at the sound.
“How’d you like to lose another bar?” He asked casually, like he hadn’t been a hair’s breath away from ending the flame monster’s life. Sans could let Grilby go now, but even the bravest of monsters lost their bravado when Sans was so close. And no one had ever called Grilby brave. The other’s flame belying just how slimy he really was.
“You… you wouldn’t!” Grilby shouted like a man afraid to raise his voice. “Where else would I go? Wh- where else would you get your mustard?”
Oh, bad move. Trying for sympathy, trying to make it out that Sans needed him in any way. Like he wasn’t some disposable piece of trash that was only spared the compactor because Gaster had taken some small ounce of pity on him. When would he learn things weren’t the same as they were ten years ago? Sans had moved up and on from the days where Grilby could be considered anywhere within the realm of his equal.
“Not my problem,” Sans said. “My problem is your attitude, talkin’ to me anyway you want.”
“No- no I… I didn’t mean—” Grilby began, only for Sans to cut him off with a shake of his head.
“Was losin’ one bar not enough? Gettin’ kicked outta Fell?” They were rhetorical questions, but Grilby still not getting the point, answered anyway.
“It was one mistake!” Grilby began heatedly, like he was about to start up that long dead argument. Like he didn’t already know Sans hated repeating himself.
“Don’t,” Sans warned. “You got off better than ya deserved.” Considering Grilby was still alive, Sans wasn’t wrong. Not that he ever was anyway, at least where trash like Grilby was concerned.
Sans was already thinking about how easy it would be. The bar was old, fire resistant by the same magic that allowed the flame monster to wear clothes. Course a fire would have been a dull way to do it. Fire’s take everything out quick and clean. Good for taking out competition or doing in the businesses that refused to pay their bills, but not when the intention was for the recipient to really suffer. Fires were just so impersonal, a bat or crowbar, however…
Yeah, yeah… even if their conversation went exactly the way Sans wanted, he might send some of his boys back in Fell City down to Snowdin anyway. Have them smash the place up real good. Might actually do Grilby some good. Remind him just low down in the pecking order he was. That the shitty old bar he clung to was a fucking privilege given to him by the Gaster brothers. And they could take it way just as easily as they had his bar back in Fell City.
Grilby has been skating on thin ice for the past three months, and he’s burning through it fast.
“Ya see, my bro only said I couldn’t kill ya, he didn’t say nothin’ about your bar…” Sans trailed off, the amusement he derived from tormenting Grilby slowly starting to creep into his voice. “… Unless ya were to apologize for disrespectin’ me and lettin’ that little daisy go.”
And there it was. If his brothers were to find out about his first meeting with the new skeleton, it wouldn’t be Sans taking the fall for him escaping. Wasn’t really his fault, anyway. Grilby should have known to drug the bastard’s drink.
“Bu… but I…” Grilby’s gaze darted around the bar, taking in all he had left in the world. A dirty bar with no patrons. It was more than most had these days.
Grilby looked down at where Sans had his jacket gripped, voice soft as he finally said, “I’m sorry.”
Sans grunted.
“… Sir,” Grilby added dispiritedly.
Sans grinned and released his hold on Grilby’s jacket. “That wasn’t so hard, now was it?” He mocked, condescension dripping off every word, chuckling when the flame monster stumbled back from the abrupt release, hitting and rattling the alcohol bottles on his back shelf.
“I was startin’ to think that runt’s bad manners had rubbed off on ya,” Sans continued conversationally.
Grilby didn’t say anything as he straightened his jacket and dusted off his shoulders. Instead the flame monster watched Sans through trepid eyes. Finally, not answering Sans’ rhetorical remarks.
Reaching behind his vest and into his left breast pocket for a cigar, Sans nodded approvingly. Lesson learned; it was back to business. The mark of a professional was being able to turn down the heat after a successful negotiation. Threats would become meaningless if after the desired results were achieved, he went and carried out the threat anyway.
“Did you know he could teleport?” Sans asked.
“He can teleport?” Grilby simply parroted back, voice still full of that wonderful tamed quality. “That would explain why I didn’t notice him coming into town…”
“So, you didn’t see nothin’ until he walked into this shit hole like it was open for business?” Sans asked, eyes carefully observing the other monster for any signs of deception… or disrespect.
“It is open for business—” Grilby started defensively.
Sans snorted, “course it is, course it is.”
“I… I mean, yes, I didn’t see anything until he was already at the counter,” Grilby said, sounding just the right level of submissive.
Sans reached around to his back pocket to grab a lighter. “And what did the guy want? Couldn’t be your company.”
Grilby sniffed, affronted by Sans’ intentional jab, but too shaken from earlier confrontation to quip back. Good, looked like Sans had hammered that nail in deep. He couldn’t have the guy thinking they were pals just because he made Sans’ favorite drink. Just because, back before Sans’ name meant something, he and Grilby might have been…
Frowning at finding no lighter, Sans checked his other back pocket. Nothing there either. Seemed that in his haste, he had forgotten his lighter back home. Not that the rush could be blamed, after all a skeleton monster was a rare thing.
Though rare as they were, he still hadn’t expected to walk in and see that choice piece of calico seated at the bar looking like he’d just been waiting for Sans to show up and liven up his morning. The strange skeleton had been about as small as a monster could be, looked real fragile too. Not like the usual straggler types Sans came across. The runt had looked so queer in those ugly shorts and slippers that Sans hadn’t known what to make of him. Still, the puns shouldn’t have caught him off guard the way they did. Though, more off putting had been his own reaction to them.
Looking back on it, Sans should have just yanked the little fucker to him and teleported them both back to his place.
“… He did ask for ketchup, if that’s of any interest to you,” Grilby said as he began to shakily put the bottles that had been knocked around back into place.
“Ketchup?” Sans raised an eye-socket, looking down at the half-empty bottle on the counter. It was on its side, having fallen over either when he hit the counter or pulled Grilby over it. He chuckled and reached for it. Such a fruity drink.
“He really is a fruit cake,” Sans said while inspecting the bottle, giving it a little shake.
The bottle should still have some of the runt’s scent on it, meaning he could pass it over to some of Fell’s finest bent cops for inspection. Half of them being dogs, it would be the easiest way of tracking him, not that Sans wouldn’t put some of his own leg work in. Even with Grilby set up to take the fall, if either of his brothers discovered the runt first, there was a chance he'd let something slip. And if his brothers found out Sans had not only been told about a skeleton monster none of them knew, but had also let said skeleton monster escape…
Sans shook his head to lodge the gruesome visualizations from his imagination. Best not to think too deeply about it. He and his brothers had been on… non-too-hostile terms for some time now, and he didn’t want anything to jeopardize that- certainly not some runt of a monster who ought to consider himself lucky should Sans decide not to feed him to the dogs after catching him. Small thing that he was, not like there’d be much to chew on.
Sighing, Sans decided he should finish his business at the bar before his anger could begin fizzling inside him again, a low heat but ready to boil over at any moment, as it was ought to do.
“Ey, gimme a light,” He ordered Grilby with a sadistic smile.
The flame monster’s thin lips tilted down into a hesitant frown, but he knew better than to tell the skeleton no. Without a word, Grilby stepped forward and leaned across the counter, trembling slightly as he blew purple fire onto the tip of Sans’ cigar, lighting it up. Heh, looked like Grilby still remembered the last lesson Sans had taught him.
“Appreciate it,” he said smoothly, bringing the cigar to his mouth and holding it there between his clenched teeth. Sans was a Mafioso, sure, but he still had manners- when they were warranted. It’s what separated he and his brothers from the general criminal population of Fell City. And other, smaller skeletons, apparently.
Though, would the little daisy even be in the city? If he didn’t know who Sans was, there was a good chance he didn’t know Fell was exclusively the Gaster brothers’ territory. Not a crime was committed in that city, not a single weed plucked, without the one doing it stopping to consider if it would land them on the wrong side of a magically sharpened bone.
But if not Fell, where would the stranger go? There was nowhere else to go. The Underground wasn’t the populated place it once was. After the barrier had been lifted, the citizens had rushed to the surface, gasping in the new air like fish that had been held out of water. Sans would have considered it pathetic had he not been right there with them. As it was, there wasn’t anywhere to go in the Underground that a little daisy could be safe. They needed a different kind of light than what the Underground could offer.
No, the runt had to be on the surface, in Fell. Teleportation was limited to the amount of magic Sans could use at any given time, and he’d bet all of his ill-gotten green that it was the same for the smaller skeleton. And there was no way such a tiny thing could carry more magic than him. That meant he had to be up top, probably not far from the mountain. Either already in the city or on his way there.
It was convenient timing, the little daisy’s arrival. What with the elder Gaster brother out of town for the foreseeable future; meant Sans got to deal with the new skeleton his way.
Wing Dings was off in Hotland doing who knew what in the labs, which gave Sans and Papyrus free reign of the city to do as they pleased with it, within reason. Of course, neither of them had any particularly big plans for it. The big plans were always left up to Wing Dings, while Sans enjoyed with the smaller problems in the city. Not because he couldn’t. While their older brother was gone, Sans was perfectly happy to leave the majority of control to the city to Papyrus, who reveled in the chance to make the city more into his image.
Which meant that in the few short months that Wing Dings has been gone, at least three new Italian restaurants had opened up.
The only real instructions Wing Dings had left for them was to continue collecting their protection fees, keep the drug and weapon trade running smoothly, make sure the other mafia families didn’t get too curious about their brother’s vacation, and to report back any suspicious behavior should something out of the ordinary happen. Whatever that had meant.
Now Sans was starting to get an idea. If only he hadn’t been so damn patient with the runt. If only the little daisy hadn’t been so damn funny. Practically a ray of sunshine compared to the kind of folks Sans usually interacted with. Times as they were, every milksop and gadfly was walking around looking like gray was a mood. Who could blame Sans for enjoying a bit of color? Everyone had their vices, and shitty jokes just happened to be one of his.
Sans took a drag of his cigar, lazily blowing the dark red smoke out his nasal concha. It curled in the air and Sans watched it through half-open eyes.
He had wanted to take the little daisy’s hand and teleport them to the top of Mount Ebott, just to see his reaction. It was a rare sight to see a monster without at least one nick in him, even rarer to see him looking all soft and innocent, guarded without really knowing what he was trying to keep out. Made everything he did interesting to look at.
Weird clothes, though. The smaller skeleton had been showing a lot of bone, and while he appreciated the view, Sans had to wonder if it had been intentional. Meant to distract enemies, or maybe the guy was just one of those flamboyant types. Then there were those pink slippers. Pink. On a man! Of all the crazy footwear…
Sans sucked in another drag from the cigar, contemplating his next move.
He needed to find the little runt before people started to take notice of him, and not just because of his brothers’ potential retaliation. Folks were going to assume things, and Sans wouldn’t let the Gaster name be associated with a random skeleton out there looking like some trampy bum.
They had a carefully crafted image to uphold, after all.
With that thought, he turned and walked out of the bar, without so much as a goodbye to its owner. The man wasn’t worth the words, and that Sans turned his back to Grilby was a sign of just how inconsequential a threat he considered the other monster to be.
Sans stepped out of the bar with a yawn and flicked the remnants of his cigar into the snow. He would teach that little daisy to think he could walk out on a conversation with Sans C. Gaster… right after a nap. It was too damn early for this shit.

AN: So this was a much, much shorter chapter. I'm trying not to have Fell Sans come out and just info dump everything about this world, but rather have it be revealed organically throughout the story. The next chapter will be longer and back to OG Sans' POV and contain more world building. (i know he's technically called classic, but i like calling him the true OG.)
I'm so glad people are interested and thus far enjoying the story. And as always, continued feedback is appreciated, even (constructive) criticism.
1900s Slang:
Sucker – a gullible person Flipmouth – a person as of and pertaining to backtalk; attitude inflection in voice; disrespectful wording Choice piece of calico – a desirable woman (or monster, in this case) Queer – something/someone that is odd, different, strange or non-mainstream Green – money Milksop – a person who is indecisive and lacks courage. Gadfly – an irritating person or thing

TASAI CH1 Part 1
I started editing so yee-haw! I took a three day break too from any editing. I still wrote up drafts for other things but didn’t force it. Writing is still my greatest coping mechanism so its not like I can stop.
Anywho, progress with P1 is good. I’m not too concerned with doing heavy editing. Its nice. I mostly wanna add some more scenery descriptions here and there. The other chapters probably will have more edits.
Hahahaha! Mid writing this I got a great idea. It might shorten the story but who cares. I need to cut out the boring parts. That’s part of why I’m only posting part 1 of the 10k chapter. It’s waaaaay too much for me to edit at once. I’m hoping if I take it easy and post in parts, I’ll figure out as I go with how much I want to take out.
The hard thing about this story is that this is a much older one. I’ve spent over a year on and off working on it. I remember what it was like back when it was a clunky emotional mess but I was so damn proud of it. I want to respect the parts that matter. I want to have fun but I also don’t want to force this “masterpiece” level idea for weeks on end. Tops I’m spending 2 weeks on this.
I got caught up on all the other drafts I hadn’t gotten to. I’m also planning on typing up some JATH drafts once I hit my ten minute minimum or I get tired of editing P1.
I’m really excited for this new version of TASAI that I have in mind. I wonder if people will like it. XD it won’t have any romance or sexual tension between Sans or Papyrus and Frisk. It’s mostly about bringing a family back together. It’s essentially mobfell Sound of Music. I love a dysfunctional family coming together to love and appreciate each other. It’s like.. the shit I live on.
Romance? Pfff.
Give me that family bonding. Life sucks but I’ll have this fantasy five days a week, please and thank you.

Hey! I’m a little new to your blog. I love the way you characterize our boys. But I’m still learning the names of everyone. Who is Hit? I’m assuming he’s underfell Papyrus, but I want to be sure
Mobfell Sans. All the characters are from my fic, Aggre(g/v)ation. Give it a read if you’d like, a lot of stuff will make more sense. :3

17. ‘Will you marry me?’ Big Daddy
*Breath in* YASSSSSS!!!
Mobfell Sans(Big Daddy):
Big Daddy usually is not a nervous wreck.
This date with you seems much fancier than other dates you two have been on, and it’s not even on date night.
Papyrus did not seem to in the house, and the living was nicely dimmed with your favourite scent. Big Daddy had seemed to have even made your favourite dish.
After dinner, he nervously asks you if you want to go to the balcony. Before you can even answer though he takes your hand and teleports you two up there. You aren’t really dressed for the cold weather so it takes you by surprise.
“Sans, is everything okay?”
“Yeah! Of course, it is!” He said again nervously as he wrapped his arms around you from behind.
You two watch the sunset, and as the beautiful colours paint the sky he reaches into his pocket.
You don’t bother looking. He is probably going to take a smoke.
“S/O?”
Your turn your head towards him, seeing his face a deep red.
“…wlyuarm…” He muttered.
“…Pardon?”
“…willyoumarryme…”
You don’t think you heard him right.
“Darling, words please.”
He breaths out and brings the ball black box to your attention.
“Will you marry me?”
A wave of shock hits you. So that is what the night was all about.
You happily turn around, wrapping your arms around him and pressing your lips hard on his teeth.
When you let go of him, he stares down at you.
“…So that’s a no?”
You hold in a laugh. “No no, that was a yes.”
Hehehe… Git me worried there toots.”
He starts to form tears in his eyes and you wrap your arms around him.
The door was slammed open.
“BROTHER DID YOU DO IT BECAUSE I BEEN WAITING FOR AN HOUR-”
“OH HELLO HUMAN, HOW ARE YOU TODAY?”

Current WIPS and Potential Future Fics
Busy season is upon me at work, so much of my writing will be confined to the weekened (sadness). But! I am busily working on the next installment for Smoke in the Mirror and Changeling, as well as doing some basic outlining and concepting for Sunshine. I do have a couple one shot ideas in the mixer, and I always love to know what my readers prefer to see. So here's my latest~
./
(untitled fic) - Mobtale!SansxMobfell!Sans Red makes questionable choices when drunk. Such as soul bonding with his self-declared arch nemesis from a rival mafia.
Tags: Comedy, Swearing, Dubious Consent (alcohol), Soulmates, Barrier Never Existed, Sans and Red are not alternate versions but diff people, Minor Background Edgeberry, Enemies to Lovers, Red is an asshole but so is Sans, morning after trope
Notes: Possibly part of a one shot chain of silly soulmate shenanigans between these two. Red is part of a smaller, rougher gang (The Gaster Family) that tends to clash violently with others. Sans is a member of the Dreemers (his exact position kept secret, especially from his younger brother) who are involved mostly in things such as smuggling, drug traffic and tend to handle their problems ‘discreetly’. Edge is volatile, but clever, and hiding his status as one of the ‘brothers’ from an enthusiastic young police officer named Blue.
.
Mine to Keep (continuations/alt. paths - Mobfell!SansxUndertale!Sans)
Notes: I am considering various ‘moments/scenes’ related to the main fic. Such as what would happen if Sans took the path of least resistance, or if he tried to fight. For the most part, none of the ends of ‘good’ ones, and mostly involve furthering Sans suffering. But people seem to like that, soooo...
.
Hello Sunshine (Preview/Sample) (My first attempt at 2nd person POV or a READER insert is so far an interesting challenge, I'd love some feedback on how I'm handling the POV - Reader/Bittiebones fic)
Before she can start the car (send your heart racing, your gut rolling), you hold up the glossy paper Dr. Davis gave you at the end of the session. Mia examines the cover, “Mama Cry's Helpers?” She thumbs through it, eying photos of tiny skeletons and other miniature creatures. Bitties, as they were known as in short, were the creation of a monster scientist nearly twenty years ago. They became an instant hit with both humans and monsters as pets, their intelligence and magical nature making them ideal companions. For a time there was advocacy against treating the tiny creatures the same as a parrot or other exotic animal, but Dr. W. D. Gaster assured the public that bitties were incapable of living 'wild’. They wanted to be useful, it was programed into their very souls. A bittie without the care of a human or monster was akin to letting a domesticated cow fend for itself in the tundra. It was unviable and cruel.
“You gonna do it? Get a bittie, I mean.” Mia lifts her brows, her tone a little brighter, as if you suggested adopting the cat you always planned on but your apartment forbid.
You laugh, unable to keep the damp bitterness from it, “Minnie…”
“Don't Minnie me. I want to know if I am taking you home or to this Mama Cry place.”
“It's a bad idea. I...when I can go back to work, I'll never be home. It'll get lonely.”
“People take their bitties everywhere these days. Or get two! Always better to get social pets in pairs. I mean, there are fluffy ones, bet you could get one that looks like a cat!”
“My lease? No pets allowed.”
“Emotional support bittie. See, they even have these little certifications for what they're trained in. First aid, sign language, all sorts of stuff. Your apartment can't legally prevent you from keeping a helper. If they try, I'll call my dad. He likes you.” And is from a long line of lawyers. If Mia took after him in any way, it is her stubborn assurance once she sets her mind on a goal. “Next argument?”

Hello, idk if you're accepting asks atm or if you'd even be willing to do this since it's about a story you're not continuing but would you be willing to write all the mobs reactions to finding out MCs their soulmate from "Cheating Death"? (Basically just their reactions to that bombshell at the end of the last chapter)
Oh, I'm happy to answer asks about this fic even if it is abandoned.
I'm always taking asks too, no one has to wait until I request them.
I don't know if this is what you meant, but I'll explain their reactions.
Guns (Mobtale Sans) is as furious as he is surprised. He... wasn't expecting to have a SOULmate, much less for them to be a Human. But of course she dead when they find her, of course. That's just what he should've expected. But... he's also not going to let this happen. Now that he has her, she's going to live dammit!
Ace (Mobtale Papyrus) is shocked and a bit devastated. He's simultaneously overjoyed and heartbroken, and not just because of her current state. He was hoping for a SOULmate, but also kind of hoping he didn't have one. Or if they did exist, that they were in the same business as him. Even if that wouldn't work out well. He won't, he can't, let go of her now, but he is regretful that she won't be able to just rest easy.
Don (Mobtale Gaster) is absolutely furious when he finally returns. Not just at her death, but the fact that he has to share her, and with his sons even. What cruel trick is fate trying to play here with that? Her death is something that angers him greatly though too, another cruel trick of fate. But that anger is mainly at the fact that he couldn't prevent the tragedy, even if there's no reasonable way he could've.
Hit (Mobfell Sans) is mainly in shock. He goes out to save some stupid college kids and one of those idiots turns out to be his SOULmate?! And in fact the only one that died. He admires her determination to keep her SOUL together long enough to save her friends, and he's aware she's not... really his. But he feels that strong connection anyway, so it's good enough. But he's... going to need a drink.
Sniper (Mobfell Papyrus) isn't exactly... happy. He means, none of them are happy about this situation. Their SOULmate's dead. But he's not particularly happy about her presence all together. She's soft and innocent, there's no need to croupt her. But he can't ignore the instinct telling him to save her, save her, SAVE HER. Nor the one telling him to get closer, even if he doesn't really want to.
Boss (Mobfell Gaster) is just not happy to have to share her. He wants revenge on her friends for her death, but mainly just wants to get closer to her and make sure she stays on this plane of existence. He's not willing to let her go now that she's here.
Lucky (Mobswap Sans) is very upset by all of this, but he can work with this. He just needs to make sure she's all taken care of and doesn't get close to anything that could harm her fragile SOUL. This is kind of preferable actually, he's got a reason to keep close to her. Keep an even closer eye on her too.
Strike (Mobswap Papyrus) finds this to be very... regrettable. He feels bad for her mainly. She very obviously wants to pass on and doesn't understand why they're doing this to her, and she's in pain he can see it clearly. He wishes they could've met under better circumstances, or better yet never met at all. The only thing he can do is try to comfort her the best he can.
Cat (Mobswap Gaster) doesn't really... care? He's got other things on his mind and she's got enough of them doting on her. He's more focused on the situation and possibly how to make her form more solid and permanent. Mostly out of curiosity of it they can really cheat death this way. She's not really his after all, and he won't get to keep her if they end up back in their own universe.
Capo (Mobswapfell Sans) finds this completely unacceptable. First off she's a Human, second of all she's an innocent, and third of all she's DEAD?! He's not going to stand for this. Absolutely not. She's going to keep her cute little ass on this plain if it's the last thing he sees to.
Clip (Mobswapfell Papyrus) is just... devastated really. Her whole situation is just awful and he's upset it had to be this way. He'll keep an eye out for her friends for her, since obviously they meant a lot to her. Make sure none of the others try to take their grief out on them and just.. to help them he guesses. They were important to you, so they're important to him.
Barone (Mobswapfell Gaster) isn't impressed, nor is he really interested. He'll engage if he has to, or is forced to by that insufferable connection between their SOULs, but otherwise he doesn't honestly want much to do with her. If it was up to him, he'd let you pass on. It'd be for the best really. But perhaps he'll indulge once in a while, while you're here. If for no other reason than to anger his counterparts and the sons.
Pass (Horrormob Sans) feels... nothing. Of course this is how it turns out to be. Of course his SOULmate is dead, she's probably dead in his own universe too. It should be what he expects by now, the universes wouldn't have it any other way. But you're still tethered to this world, if by force. So... he'll have to make the most of this while he can. He doesn't want to let her go.
Button (Horrormob Papyrus) is very upset. He's... not surprised, because of course this happened. He can't even have his own SOULmate alive, safe, and happy. Of course he can't. The universes hate him. But he's going to try to make this as comfortable as possible for you, even if you are in pain. He has to, he just found you. Even if he does have to share.
Crank (Horrormob Gaster) is just... sad. It's a battle between wanting to let you free and desperately trying to keep you here. He knows letting you move on would be for the best, no matter how much it hurts them. But he also can't deny the desperate desire to keep you here. Ultimately, he's selfish.
Gamble (Mob G!Sans) honestly... doesn't know what to think. He doesn't really like the idea of being tied down, but now he can only think of her when with another woman or man. Drives him crazy, especially since he knows the right thing to do would be to let her go. There's a good chance of this all going wrong and her SOUL is one gamble he's not sure they should be taking.
Vig (Mob G!Papyrus) is almost desperate to find a solution to this problem, even if it doesn't seem like it on the outside. Can he bound your SOUL to an object to tether her here? To one of them? Is she like a Monster Ghost? What can he do for her? To ease her pain if nothing else. She can't heal properly and the tether they gave her made her more physical, which made her injuries all the more present. There has to be something.
Doll (Lustmob Sans) thinks it would've been better if they had never found you. They wouldn't have to deal with this pain and you wouldn't either. You're obviously traumatized and there's not really anything he can do for you. Quite a few of the others seem to just ignore the pain their touch puts you through, agitating your injuries from the cave in. You could've been resting peacefully, if not for them.
Sheba (Lustmob Papyrus) is on pretty much the same page as his brother. Under the belief you'd probably be better off had she never met them. But there's.. not much they can do. They're already the outcasts of the group, their words mean little and the others are always crowding you and determined to make you stay. They're all selfish like that.
Peach (Lustmob Gaster) would very much like to make her pain all disappear. But he doesn't know how to do that without touch, not that anyone really lets him or his sons get close to you despite you being their SOULmate too. But he'll work with what he can get. There's not much else he can do at this point.

Headcannons for mob and horror aus reaction when their s/o gets injured(by someone else or of their own accord)?
Please send in separate asks next time! Like one for the mob group and one for the horror, this got way to long and took forever. Not even mentioning the tags.
Oooo, not a good combination for any of the aus here. If someone hurt their s/o, they better hope they have good protection or are fast runners. Especially in the mob aus.
Though the horror aus won't actually kill the person who did it if they're on the Surface, they don't need that kind of publicity. Especially the Fells. All bets are off Underground though.
More under the cut because good lord:
With the hole in his head, Brick (Horrorfell Sans) is running on instincts sometimes. Not all the time, granted, but some things kick him straight back into that state. But when he sees that his s/o is injured, most rational thoughts go out the window and he becomes a giant bundle of instincts and anger. Better hope his brother is there if the person who hurt his s/o is there, otherwise he will end up attacking them in retaliation. If the s/o was injured because of something they did, Brick is bundling them up and taking them to his brother for help. And his s/o will not be allowed to leave his hold for the rest of the day at least, they just live there now and no they don't have a say in this.
The person who hurt his s/o better hope Birch (Horrorfell Papyrus) isn't around, because there's nothing scarier than him looming over them promising death with just a look alone. He won't actually kill the perpetrator, but they'll certainly be scared to death by the time the police arrive to deal with them. Birch would incapacitate them though, getting them as far away from his injured s/o before looping back to tend to them. If it was just his s/o that hurt themselves somehow, he's huffing and telling them to be more careful next time as he patches them up. He sticks around close by them for a while afterwards too, just observing as he does whatever he needs to.
Stone (Horrorswap Sans) has no problems getting between his s/o and the person that attacked them, incapacitating them as he lectures them about how rude and bad it is to hurt other people. All with an unnerving grin and tight hold that would unsettle the most hardened of people, which is all the more surprising because of how friendly and chipper he usually seems. He's pissed though, which becomes obvious with the tightened grin and how small his eye light is. If it was just his s/o that hurt themselves, he's still giving them a lighter lecture on being more careful as he takes care of them. His s/o is going to be stuck to his side a while after too, just so he can watch over them.
Silence (Horrorswap Papyrus) just looms behind his injured s/o, scaring the crap out of the attacker. He has no problems with being a scary deterrent and it works pretty well considering his size. He'd make sure that the attacker wouldn't be able to touch or even get near his s/o again, getting them out of the situation quickly and back somewhere safe enough to take care of their injuries. Though whether his s/o was attacked or they did it themselves, he's taking them to his brother since he knows how to fix it better than his does. He's not letting them go for a while after either, in both cases.
Pitch (Horrorswapfell Sans) would fight, and he'd be easily able to do it despite being blind. And the attacker would find this out very quickly since Pitch would not be happy with them laying a hand on his s/o. Once the attacker is incapacitated, he's coming right back around to take care of his s/o and make sure they'll be alright. He'll quickly take care of them if his s/o hurts themselves too, light admonishes and warning to be more careful thrown out as he does so. He'll keep them close to his side for a bit of time afterwards, lingering in their space while he makes for certain they're alright.
The attacker would barely have touched his s/o before Wolf (Horrorswapfell Papyrus) is between them with a snarl, already able to sense the ill intent the attacker had towards his s/o. They'll be lucky if he can hold himself back from attacking them on instinct, mind instantly throwing every rational thought out the window with the threat to his family. But whether it was an attacker or not, he's quick to take care of his injured s/o. Extremely gentle and comforting as he makes them as comfortable as possible while getting them to his brother for help.
Sunny (Horror G!Sans) is likely to take a minute to realize what actually just happened, but once he does he's immediately inserting himself between his attacker and s/o. He's a lot like Stone (Horrorswap Sans) in that he does it with a smile and chipper attitude, with that edge that says the attacker royally fucked up. He won't lay a hand on the attacker though, but he doesn't have to. Especially if the attacker goes after him next. If it was just the s/o that got themselves hurt, he'll still need a second to recognize what happened but then he'll just carefully take them to his brother to get their injury taken care of.
Briar (Horror G!Papyrus) is on the attacker the instant they go for his s/o. He really does not tolerate anyone messing with those he cares for and will defend them until the end. And he's vicious about it. If it weren't for the laws of this land.... But when all's said and done, whether it was an attacker or his s/o hurt themselves, he's going to be annoyingly attentive to his s/o in making sure they heal up as surely as possible. And he'll hover for quite a while after that too.
Poppy's (Horrorlust Sans) just focused on getting his s/o and himself out of the situation as fast as possible, and away from the attacker. He wasn't much for fighting even before what happened and he's definitely not for it now, but he also panics and reacts on instinct. Which means the attacker is likely going to be thrown back while he makes a quick get away with his s/o. But, whether attacked or not, he'll tenderly take care of his s/o's injures while making sure they're emotionally okay afterwards. He'll trap them in cuddles for a while afterwards too, him needing them probably more than his s/o does.
The first instinct Rose (Horrorlust Papyrus) has is to get out of the situation too if his s/o is attacked. He's not very fast though, so running isn't really an option. So he'll try to talk their way out, or distract the attacker long enough for help to arrive. Whether that be the police, his brother, or something else. He'll use his magic too, to keep the attacker from getting close to him or his s/o again. Internally, he's panicking a lot. Though he panics whether his s/o was attacked or not, just them being injured enough to set off the alarms. He'll immediately try to start taking care of those injuries with trembling hands, immediately needing cuddles afterwards.
If there's one thing about Lucky (Mobswap Sans) people hear the most in rumors, it's don't piss him off. Injuring his s/o is one sure fire way to do that. Any idiot that doesn't heed the warnings is going to learn that lesson first hand when he finally gets his hands on them, not that it'll do them much good in the long run. But whether his s/o was attacked or not, he's going to be right there taking care of the injuries with gentle hands. He'll be lightly admonishing his s/o if it was them who caused the injuries, but he'll be seething if it was an attack.
Strike (Mobswap Papyrus) won't have to take care of the attacker if he doesn't want to, his brother more than happy to deal with it for him if he wants. But he's not anymore merciful to someone that hurt his s/o than his brother is and will happily take care of them himself. Though he might let his brother do most of the work as he tends to his s/o, more concerned with making sure they're alright first. If it was his s/o that caused the injury to themselves, he'll be considerably more relaxed as he tends to them. Jokingly admonishing them for their clumsiness.
Hit (Mobfell Sans) is absolutely pissed about his s/o getting injured. If they were under the protection of one of his lackies, they're likely going to get the same treatment as his s/o's attacker does. It wont be pretty either, but the attacker wont be bothering anyone else again. But whether it was an attacker or his s/o causing the injury, he's going to be carefully taking care of the injury while grumbling the whole time.
Sniper (Mobfell Papyrus) is angry whether it was an attacker or his s/o's doing, just mad that they got hurt in the first place. He wont take it out on his s/o, of course. But he's loudly grumbling about what a menace they are as he carefully bandages them and makes sure they're healing. He'll comfort his s/o if they got attacked, then go deal with said attacker once they've calmed down. But he's pissed either way and will be child-proofing if he sees it fit.
The calm way Capo (Mobswapfell Sans) handles the attack at first is honestly more unnerving than if he was angry. But don't be fooled, he is absolutely pissed that someone got close enough to touch his s/o in the first place and he is out for their blood. If the attacker got away, his brother will be hunting them down while Capo himself takes care of his s/o's injuries. Afterwards, he'll makes sure the attacker regrets his whole life. If his s/o caused the injury, he'll just take care of them and joke a bit about it with his s/o if they're up for it.
Clip (Mobswapfell Papyrus) is going to hunt down the person who attacked his s/o and make certain they wish they were never born. No one messes with what's his and if he doesn't make sure they pay for it, his brother will. Hurting his family is about the only thing that can set him off and it's not pretty when he is, anyone dumb enough to try it learns that lesson pretty quickly. But whether it was an attack or not, he'll gently take care of his s/o and treat their wound with quiet tenderness.
Attacking Pass' (Horrormob Sans) s/o is a one way ticket to never being seen or heard from again. They will not even find the body, as he and his brother are experts in making sure of that. He may even play with the attacker a bit, making them think he forgot about what happened or didn't even know about it. Let them think they're safe, then attack when they least expect it. Do not mess with his s/o. But whether they were attacked or not, he'd be holding onto them tight while his brother cares for their wounds. He'll be clingy for a while afterwards too.
Attacking Button's (Horrormob Papyrus) s/o is not anymore of a good idea than his brother's. The attacker is going to have both of them after their ass. But Button's just as likely to play around like a cat with a mouse. He has non-lethal, but no less punishing, puzzles and traps he'd put the attacker through though, let them think they have a chance at escape before taking care of them. He'll be gently taking care of his s/o afterwards, whether it was an attack or not, making sure they're healing up and alright. He'll be pretty clingy for a while too, having forgotten for a second how fragile humans and monsters alike can be.
Gamble (Mob G!Sans) is going to appear like he really doesn't care that someone attacked his s/o, appearing nonchalant and amused by the whole thing. But really, he's pissed. He is so pissed, but not letting that show to give the attacker some sense of security. Along with making people question his attachment to his s/o. But then he's going to find out every last detail he can about the attacker to hit them where it hurts. Making them loose anything and everything they care about and ruining their life, make them wish they were dead. But he'll make up for the act in private with his s/o, tenderly caring for them until they get to his brother so he can heal them. He'd just bring them to his brother if there was no attacker though, let his brother scold his s/o for being so careless.
Vig (Mob G!Papyrus) is a lot like his brother in how he handles the attacker. Making them wish they dead instead of actually killing them. Though he'd use them as a lab rat instead of just ruining their life, after his brother had taken care of that anyway. He's got plenty of things he needs to test after all, a live subject is just what he needs... But he's also quick to tend to his s/o's wounds, whether they were attacked or not. But he would be scolding them if they had hurt themselves, warning them to be more careful next time.
Doll (Lustmob Sans) wouldn't handle the attacker himself at first, he has people to do that for him after all. But hurting his s/o is just like attacking his brother or himself and he doesn't take to kindly to that. His main priority is making sure his s/o is taken care of though, taking them to a quite corner of the club to tend to the injury and make sure they're alright after the ordeal. Afterwards... it's fair game. But if there was no attacker, it's still his first priority to make sure his s/o's alright and their injuries are taken care of. Though he's a little less serious about it unless they're really upset.
Sheba (Lustmob Papyrus) handles the situation very similarly to his brother, though he has no problems in dealing with the attacker himself right away. Or at least until security gets there and hauls the attacker away to really be dealt with later. He's then going to take care of his s/o's injury before making sure to return the favor to the attacker tenfold. If there was no attacker though, he's just taking care of the injury and trying to lighten his s/o's mood. If they're up for it anyway.

Hi! hello! I hope you don't mind but,, can we see headcanons of mobfell of yours? And what they're like?. 👉👈
Well, they're both certainly ruthless mobsters with a penchant for single-mindedly going after what they want. When they find something that's worth it anyway.
Hit (Mobfell Sans) is a bit more laid back than his brother. He's puts on a façade of being the muscle of the group, though he's actually the more cunning of the two brothers. He usually lets Sniper (Mobfell Papyrus) take the credit for that though, since he works better in the background anyway. He's still very intimidating though, which is why he's usually sent out to deal with the more shady of their partners.
Sniper (Mobfell Papyrus) is still very cunning too, though a lot of his strength is in his ability to brute force things when needed. Though his strongest ability is his acting abilities, able to play whatever role he needs to get the job done. Suave player, the charming gentleman, no-nonsense lawyer, convincing business man.... ruthless mobster. He wears whatever mask will suit him most at the time.

Cheating Death
(Caution! Some graphic depictions of injures. And some violence, this is Mobtale versions. Major character death too!)
Mobtale AU Sans and Papyrus/Reader
A hiking trip gone wrong has a group of college kids go missing, and it's up to the skeleton family to find them. Which, of course, is no problem. The problem comes when they find who is in that group of college kids.
..... Or was at one point.
First / Last
~You're....~
"No.." The other girl gasps, tears starting up anew. The others, besides the one currently passed out, are staring wide eyed at him, frozen in place. The girl calls a name, the Monsters having to guess it's the name of the dead girl. The girl tries to leap towards the two skeletons, likely to get to the body, but the larger male holds her back. He just cradles her as she tries to fight her way out. "Let go! I have to- Let go!"
"GET THEM DOWN THE MOUNTAIN," Sniper orders the dogs, sighing. "CALL AN AMBULANCE WHILE YOU'RE AT IT."
The dogs nod, Doggo carefully picking up the passed out kid while Dogamy corrals the others. The larger male has to carry the nearly hysterical girl away, though he looks pretty shaken as well. The lankier boy places a hand on the smaller boy's shoulder, who is quietly crying himself. But once they're gone, Hit and Sniper turn back to the dead girl.
"now, we better take care of 'er," Hit sighs, then glances around once. "but where'd that other girl run off to?"
"OTHER GIRL?" Sniper demands, looking over at his brother.
"yeah. some girl lead us straight here an' disappeared," Hit sighs, rubbing the back of his skull. Sniper groans, dragging a hand down his face in annoyance.
"ONE MORE STARS DAMNED HUMAN LOST ON THIS FUCKING MOUNTAIN. I THOUGHT THERE WERE ONLY SIX OF THESE FUCKERS," he growls, hand dropping to his side again. "JUST WHAT WE NEEDED."
Hit just groans, turning around. But then he freezes, eye sockets widening a bit. Sniper notices his brother's sudden change, looking over his shoulder only to freeze as well.
It seems that girl is standing right behind them. Covered in blood and having a few obviously broken bones in different places of her body, some of them looking crushed even. Her clothes are torn in certain places as well, stained with dirt and the same blood that coats spots of her skin. The girl looks quite similar to, exactly the same as, the dead one right behind them, save for the blank black holes that make up her eyes. Holes dripping with black tears.
But that's not why they froze.
"Thank you," you smile, though it looks sad with the tears dripping down your cheeks. It also looks painful with the state your jaw is in. Your form begins to waver in place, slowly disappearing from view.
Hit panics at the sight, grabbing a tight hold of your shattering SOUL. You gasp, gripping your chest and dropping to your knees at the heavy weight suddenly on you.
"What are you doing?" You whimper, clutching your chest tighter.
"fuck," Hit mutters, then lets out another string of curses. Sniper finally snaps out of it and pulls his phone out immediately.
"HELLO? YEAH, WE HAVE A... PROBLEM," Sniper spits into the phone, still staring at you with wide eye sockets.
_____
"so what's the problem?" Guns asks, annoyed and tapping his finger against the arm of the chair. Ace sighs, leaning back in his seat.
"SNIPER WASN'T ABLE TO EXPLAIN IT WELL, AND HIT WAS COMPLETELY USELESS AS WELL. ALL I GOT WAS IT HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH ONE OF THOSE COLLEGE KIDS THAT DISAPPEARED ON THE MOUNTAIN," he replies, Guns looking more annoyed at that little announcement. "THEY'RE BRINGING HER HERE NOW."
"what problem could a damn college kid be? did she make it into the underground?" Guns asks, raising a brow bone. "or a member of a rival gang?"
"IT'S NOT THE LATTER, OR IF SHE IS, SHE'S A VERY LOW RANKING MEMBER," Ace sighs, shuffling through the papers on his desk. "I HAD GAMBLE LOOK INTO EACH OF THE KIDS AND THEY ALL HAVE PRETTY CLEAN RECORDS. BESIDES A FEW NOISE COMPLAINTS, BUT THAT'S HARDLY ANYTHING TO BAT AN EYE AT."
Ace hands the papers over for Guns to look through, the skeleton just taking short glances over the profiles.
"AND NEITHER MENTIONED THE UNDERGROUND. I DOUBT THEY WOULD'VE BEEN SO.... SHAKEN SOUNDING ABOUT THAT," Ace adds, waving a hand. Guns looks back up with a raised brow bone at that.
"hit and sniper? shaken? must be something good then," he states, tossing the folder back onto the desk. Ace huffs, placing it back into its spot.
They look over at the knock on the door, Hit and Sniper entering after. Both of whom look rather troubled. Between them is a human, who looks pretty shaken herself. Though Guns and Ace immediately stand up once getting a good look at you.
"THAT'S-!" Ace cuts off, jumping to his feet as his hands clench at the edges of his desk. Guns rips his eyes away from you, snapping them over at the two sharper versions of himself and his brother.
"what happened?" He demands, rising to his feet as well.
"THE GROUP GOT CAUGHT IN A CAVE IN," Sniper replies, Hit pulling you in front of them. "SHE GOT CAUGHT UNDER THE RUBBLE AND DIED."
"i'd guess she had a strong enough determination ta stick around ta save 'er friends," Hit grimaces, a light red sweat rolling down his skull. "she lead doggo and me straight to 'em."
"MY BROTHER GRABBED HER SOUL BEFORE IT COULD SHATTER," Sniper finishes, his phalanges curling into his palms. "WE CAN'T TOUCH HER. AND MY BROTHER WON'T BE ABLE TO KEEP THIS UP FOREVER."
Guns curses, disappearing from sight.
"WHERE'S HER BODY?" Ace asks, looking between the two of them.
"we have it," Hit replies, rubbing the back of his neck. "but it's not in the best shape at this point."
"YES, I COULD HAVE GUESSED THAT," Ace replies, looking over you. You shy away from his gaze, looking down at yourself. Ace sighs, growling lightly under his breath. "FINALLY FIND HER AND SHE'S DEAD. OF FUCKING COURSE."
Guns appears back into the room with a book, dropping it onto the desk with a loud thump. Ace backs away a bit, letting his brother open the old tomb and flip through the pages.
"knew the old man had this somewhere," Guns mutters, scanning through the pages. "there's gotta be something in here that'll...... here!"
Guns reads through the page a few times, then turns to you. You curl into yourself as much as you're allowed to, trying to shy away from him as he approaches.
"keep her still," Guns demands, looking over at Hit.
"what're ya goin' ta do?" Hit asks, though does as Guns asks.
"something that'll make her ties to this world a little more.... solid again," Guns replies, your eyes widening. He reaches out, you whimpering. Guns grimaces, though reaches out to encase your SOUL in his magic.
Your whimpers quickly turn into pained cries and you likely would've dropped to the floor if it wasn't for the hold the skeletons had on you. Though they grimace at the sounds, tensing.
"there," Guns says after a moment, Hit slowly releasing his hold on you. Sniper is quick to catch you before you can fall, though you let out a pained scream as he does. Obviously, you're really feeling all those injuries now, making their grimaces deepen.
"FUCK. GET HER UP TO ONE OF THE BEDS, I'LL CALL VIG," Ace demands, Sniper nodding. Hit and Guns follow Sniper out of the room as he moves as carefully as possible. Though your cries gain the attention of a few of the other skeletons in the house, who come out to see what the racket is about.
"WHAT'S GOING ON? DID ONE OF THE OTHERS BRING SOMEONE IN AGAIN?" Capo demands, though he goes rigid when he sees you, Clip doing the same. Though Capo doesn't remain still for long, an enraged look overtaking his face. "WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED TO HER? WHO DID THIS?"
"settle down, capo," Guns orders, though he's obviously shaken as well. "no one did this to her. it was a cave in."
"what the hell was she in a cave for?" Clip asks, following right along as Sniper enters the spare room. They look down at you as you're laid on the bed, some of your blood rubbing off on the sheets.
"was some... damn school project or somethin'," Hit growls, looking over you. "'er friends all got out alive and well..... 'cept fer one who got his legs under the rubble."
Capo and Clip grimaces, looking over the others. Though they don't get to remain in the room for long before Ace is walking in with Vig and Gamble tailing him.
"BY THE STARS! WHAT HAPPENED TO HER?" Vig demands, quickly moving over to the bedside. Gamble remains frozen for a few minutes, a disbelieving look taking over his skull. Though he’s quick to wipe it away. Sniper steps out of Vig’s way, the others reluctantly doing the same.
"Fuck, poor sweetheart isn't lookin' so hot," Gamble says, his brow bones turning down. He looks over at Ace, tapping a finger against his humerus. "She's one of those kids that went missing."
"YES, SHE IS," Ace replies, unnerved by your screaming. Though he eyes Gamble suspiciously.
But your screams unnerve them all. Even though they're very accustomed to hearing pained screams at their point.
"ALRIGHT. ALL OF YOU OUT," Vig demands, glancing over his shoulder at the other skeletons. "LET MY BROTHER AND I DO OUR WORK. WE'LL COME GET YOU ONCE WE'RE DONE."
"ARE YOU GOING TO BE ABLE TO HEAL HER?" Sniper asks, looking down at you again. Those black tear tracks are nearly covering your entire cheeks, quickly coating the side of your face and staining your hair as well. "SHE'S A.... GHOST, I SUPPOSE. SHE'S NOT IN HER PHYSICAL BODY."
"YES, I WILL BE," Vig replies, moving a phalange along your arm just to test the solidity of your body. "HER CURRENT BODY IS SOLID AND PHYSICAL ENOUGH. NOW GO."
"ALRIGHT. WE'LL BE WAITING," Ace says, though really doesn't look like he wants to leave. To be fair, neither do the others but they relent and head down into the living room. They all sit down into the chairs and couches restlessly, Ace breaking off to go make a few phone calls.
"WHERE IS HER BODY?" Capo asks, looking over the other skeletons gathered.
"we have it," Hit nods, tapping a finger against his humerus. "not in very good shape though."
"IT APPEARS TO ALREADY HAVE STARTED TO DECAY," Sniper adds, his leg bouncing restlessly. The others grimace at that, Guns scratching his cheekbone. "I HAD PRONOUNCED HER DEAD IN FRONT OF HER FRIENDS AS WELL, BEFORE WE SAW HER GHOST. THEY AND HER FAMILY IS GOING TO EXPECT A BODY."
"what even happened to the friends?" Guns asks, leaning forward onto his knees.
"we had doggo and dogamy take them down the mountain and call an ambulance. they're likely already at the hospital," Hit states. Guns grimaces deeper, only glancing up as Ace enters the room once again.
"LUCKY AND STRIKE ARE ON THEIR WAY BACK NOW," he announces, seating himself onto the couch. The group remains quiet until Lucky and Strike enter the room, both looking confused.
"WHAT'S GOING ON? WHY WERE WE CALLED HOME?" Lucky asks, sitting down. Strike sits beside him, looking curiously at the rest of the group.
"I GOT A CALL ABOUT A GROUP OF MISSING COLLEGE KIDS," Ace starts, looking at the both of them. They raise a brow bone at that, still confused. "THEY HAD GONE UP MOUNT EBOTT FOR A GROUP PROJECT."
"why would they go onto the mountain for a project?" Strike asks, leaning forward a bit to look between the other skeletons. "did they reach the underground?"
"NO, THEY DIDN'T," Sniper replies, tapping a phalange against his humerus. "THEY GOT CAUGHT IN A CAVE IN WITH A DEAD END."
"ALRIGHT, SO WHAT DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH US?" Lucky asks, glancing between Ace and Sniper.
"it doesn't. but one of the kids has something to do with all of us," Hit grimaces. The two wait impatiently for someone to explain that.
"YES. THE KIDS WERE MOSTLY FINE. BUT THERE WAS ONE INJURED AND ANOTHER KILLED BY THE CAVE IN," Ace continues, the two nodding. "THE GIRL THAT HAD DIED...."
"she's here," Hit speaks up, making the two raise their brow bone again.
"why'd you bring the dead girl home?" Strike asks.
"she's a... ghost now," Guns grimaces, glancing at the ceiling. "i tethered her here again and gamble and vig are healing her at the moment, she was in pretty bad shape. don't be rushing up there and interrupting them, got it?"
"WHY DO THAT? WHO CARES IF SHE DIES?" Lucky asks, glancing between them again.
"BECAUSE SHE'S NOT DYING WHEN WE JUST FINALLY FOUND HER," Ace states, making the two turn their confused gaze to him now. "LOOK, THE REASON WE'RE KEEPING HER IS BECAUSE... SHE'S OUR SOULMATE."

A hiking trip gone wrong has a group of college kids go missing, and it's up to the skeleton family to find them. Which, of course, is no problem. The problem comes when they find who is in that group of college kids.
..... Or was at one point.

~We Shouldn't Be Here~
"Are you sure we should be up here?" You ask, looking all around the woods you're hiking through.
Well, exploring really. You and the members of your group project weren't on any trails you were supposed to be on, not that there's many on this mountain that aren't overgrown or closed. If they were ever open in the first place.
"Yes, for the hundredth time!" One of the boys, Keith, answers. He glares over his shoulder at you, picking up his speed.
"Come on, Keith," the only other girl, Ashley, says. She glares right back at Keith, the others not tuning into the conversation. "It's a valid question! Isn't this mountain, like, off limits? I heard there's sinkholes!"
"If you don't want to be here, you can go back home," Keith grumbles, turning back to look at where he's going.
You shake your head, trailing towards the back of the group. You're not really friends per say, but this is the group you were basically adopted into for the college year. Though mostly because you're all in the same building, though your little group isn't the only ones there, and have that one class together, a history one.
Ashley's your dorm roommate and basically made it her mission to become your friend, which she succeeded at. The girl is really friendly with everyone though, a drifter from friend group to friend group and someone everyone likes. It's not much of a surprise, though you know she's more closed off than not. She's always buying you stuff for some reason, more snacky foods than anything else, and making sure you eat. She's cool and you don't mind her.
Keith is a star athlete, getting into college on a track scholarship. A slim boy and fast runner, always at the gym or fields when not in class. He eats with you all sometimes, though the group doesn't eat together that often. He's pretty fanatical about health and fitness, always trying to get people to go on morning runs and to the gym with him. You're not sure what he's going to college for, but he’s apparently good at whatever it is.
Ben is another boy in the group. He doesn't say much, but he's cool. You don't know much about him other than he's apparently Keith's cousin and here on a football scholarship, though you think he's going for some type of mechanical engineering degree or something. He's good with machines at least, helping Ashley fix her motorcycle. He's big, if you had to guess he's six feet tall in total. A bit more buff than his cousin, though they're both rather good looking. Plus, he keeps the creeps away.
Tyler is a shy guy, Ashley kidnapping him into the group as well. He's not much for the parties one of the others in your group likes, preferring to stay in his room and study. He's going to college to become some type of scientist, an astronomy science if you're remembering correctly. He collects plants too and dries them out to put in a notebook. He's let you see it a couple of times and has pointed out constellations in the sky to you. He likes to ramble about space and plants a lot, you don't mind listening. It's the only time he doesn't stutter.
Aiden is the last boy in your group. You really don't know what he's going to college for, and you don't think he even goes to his classes. He is a popular kid though, most people like him and like hanging around him. But he's a partier, which gets on your nerves when you're trying to sleep or study. His parties can be fun, but he throws way too many of them. You could never really figure the guy out, and sometimes he really creeps you out. It was his idea to come up this mountain for your project, your teacher readily accepting the proposal and encouraging it.
"Aw, come on, Keith. The girls have a point," Aiden grins, looping an arm around Keith's neck and pulling him down a bit. Keith looks annoyed. "This is a pretty spooky place. No one ever comes up this mountain. They say it's haunted."
"Haunted?!" Tyler asks, spinning around to look at Aiden.
"Yup," the other boy grins, not bothered by Keith shoving him off. "A lot of people have gone missing on this mountain and there's a legend that says a huge battle also took place here. People have claimed that they can still see people's ghosts roaming the mountain, looking for a way to escape."
"Cut it out," Ashley demands, shoving the boy to the side. Aiden just laughs. "You're terrifying the poor boy."
"Aren't you supposed to be a scientist? Why do you believe in ghosts?" Keith huffs, looking over at Tyler.
"W-well, I, uhm, I just.." Tyler stutters, looking away from Keith.
"Leave him alone," you sigh, stopping next to the shy boy and placing a hand on his shoulder. "He can be a scientist and still believe in ghosts."
"Yeah, and besides, we should be more worried about those sinkholes. Why are we out here anyway?" Ashley adds, placing her hands on her hips. "Couldn't we just get the history of this place through books?"
"What better place to go for its history than the mountain itself?" Aiden grins, stretching his arms out wide. "I'd bet it has a whole lot of stories to tell. Besides, that’s what we’ve been trying to do for months. Hasn’t really been working out for us."
"And how's it going to tell us anything? It's a mountain," Ashley argues, raising an eyebrow.
"There's a whole bunch of caves somewhere around here," Keith shrugs, continuing on. You all have to run to catch up with him. "Could be something interesting in them. Plus we can get some wildlife pictures and stuff."
"For a history project?" You ask, looking over at him confused.
"Board decoration," Keith waves off. You roll your eyes. Like you couldn't have gotten that off the internet too.
"We don't know if any caves we come across would be safe though," Ashley brings up, frowning. "Should we really be exploring a mountain many people have disappeared on?"
"If you want to go back, go back," Keith argues, waving her away. Ashley just growls in annoyance. "No one made you come with."
The conversation stops there, Ashley just grumbling about how she can't leave or they're going to die. You just take a deep breath, looking up at the sky.
It's not long before your group stumbles upon one of the caves Keith was talking about. Aiden runs up to the mouth of the thing, peering into it for a few seconds before grabbing his phone. Turning on the flashlight, he looks around again before taking a few steps into it.
"Come on," he grins, heading in a bit deeper.
"Aiden, we have no clue if that cave will collapse on our heads or not!" Ashley protests, grabbing your wrist even though you haven't taken one step towards the thing.
"Come on, quit being such a scaredy cat," Keith groans, heading towards the cave himself. Ben follows behind him, not looking all too nervous himself. Tyler nervously walks beside the larger boy, fumbling with an actual flashlight he brought. "Nothing's going to happen."
"You don't know that," Ashley grumbles, sighing. She pulls you along, though lets go afterwards to go grab Aiden's ear and scold him about running into caves like that.
You huff, watching the two squabble near the mouth as Tyler, Ben, and Keith head deeper into the cave. You start to frown though, glancing around.
"Does anyone else hear that?" You ask, crossed arms dropping to your sides.
"Hear what?" Ashley asks, looking back at you.
"A... rumbling sound?" You reply, still looking around. You yelp as something hits your forehead, turning out to be a small rock when you look down.
"Shit!" Ashley calls your name, but no one's able to move before the cave entrance collapses.
_____
It's a beautiful day outside. The sun is shining, it's not too cold. A perfect temperature for the autumn weather according to the humans. The leaves are all turning colors and the animals are still out, or at least the ones that haven't left for the colder seasons. A perfect day to be doing nothing. Unfortunately for the skeleton brothers, they don't get to do nothing. Not even on a pleasant day like this.
No rest for the wicked, they'd suppose.
"that all?" Hit asks, leaning back on his heels. Candy apple red smoke drifts lazily up from the cigar clutched between sharp teeth, hands stuffing into black trousers. His red eye lights gaze over at the taller skeleton in front of him, who just huffs as he straightens out. His bones cracking the whole way. "fuck, ya need ta stretch more, ya bum."
"you're one to talk." the other skeleton rolls his dusky purple eye lights. "better get this to pass and button for disposal. think lucky wanted help at the bar later too."
"one of tha others can help 'im. we've done enough today," Hit grumbles, Clip just shrugging. He kicks the bag towards Hit, who just groans.
"hey, you're the one with the shortcut," Clip argues, shrugging and leaning back on his heels.
"yeah, yeah, yeah," Hit grumbles, grabbing the bag. "get outta here, already. would ya?"
Clip gives him a sarcastic two finger salute before turning on his heels and walking away. Likely to wherever his brother is waiting for him today. Hit moves the bag onto his shoulder, taking a shortcut out to the two freakier brothers' cabin in the woods.
This whole place, this whole universe, is really different from what Hit's used to, but at least there's some familiarity in his work. Though he can't really tell if that's a blessing or a curse. Either way, this world is a lot softer than his and he does enjoy that. The Humans are pretty similar, it doesn't take a whole lot to get them singing when he wants. The Monsters are a lot softer than what he's used to though, not as ruthless as he knew them. Not innocent or anything of the sort, but still softer.
Even some of his doppelgangers are softer than he and his brother are, only one pair matching them in their universe's standards- kind of anyway. But by no means are they anymore fuckin' innocent than he is. Despite what they portray themselves as.
"eh, pass, got a job fer ya," Hit calls, knocking a specific rhythm on the door. It takes a few seconds, but the door eventually swings open. Pass stands in the doorway with an unamused look on his cracked skull, giant frame filling up the large doorway.
".... again?" Pass asks. Hit shrugs a shoulder, letting the bag drop to the floor in front of Pass' feet.
"of course. is it really that big of a surprise?" He asks, side eyeing the larger skeleton. Pass just huffs, grabbing the handle of the bag in annoyance.
"busy," he grumbles, flinging the bag over his shoulder. "...... take care of it later."
"busy with what?" Hit asks, eye sockets narrowing.
"lucky's got a.... shipment... button's been working on it... for a week," Pass replies, staring right back down at Hit with his own singular red eye light. Hit sighs, rolling his eye lights.
"just get it done as soon as possible," he waves off. Pass just grunts, shutting the door in Hit's face. The said skeleton growls, turning on his heels and taking a shortcut back to the main house.
He can't say he enjoys everything this universe has to offer. He doesn't enjoy this little fuckin' group he's been forced into, he doesn't like nor trust most of the other skeletons. A few are good to have a smoke with, but most are just manipulative little shits he wouldn't trust with a paper clip.
It was fine when it was just him and his brother, a few of the mutts in Snowdin under their leadership. But now he has all these other assholes, all who were used to being the boss of their place, and now they all have to listen to these softer creampuffs in this damn vanilla universe.
They're powerful, but they can't be as fuckin' obvious as they used to be. They have to cover up every damn thing. It's annoying as hell.
Hit glances to the side, his phone ringing. He groans, noticing it's his brother calling and picks up.
"yeah, boss?"
"THERE'S BEEN A PROBLEM, AND WE NEED TO CLEAN IT UP. GET OVER TO THE STATION AS SOON AS POSSIBLE."

Cooking with their S/O head annons for mob and horror au???👀👀
Brick (Horrorfell Sans) isn't.. a very fast cooker. With his head, he's... really not all there anymore. But he does like cooking with his s/o! He.. may snack on ingredients, but he does help! He's really good if you need strength for something, like mashing potatoes or stirring thick things that don't like to stir. Just keep an eye on him.
Birch (Horrorfell Papyrus) may seem like he doesn't like the help, but he really does. He's quiet while cooking, and has mastered many dishes that his s/o probably isn't going to know how to make. But he'll be happy to teach them if they'd like, but is happy to let them take care of a side dish if that's what they'd prefer.
Stone (Horrorswap Sans) would love to cook with his s/o. Please cook with him! He'll happily show his s/o how to cook something too or proper techniques to making something. He's really fun to cook with too, but just don't waste anything of course.
Silence (Horrorswap Papyrus) doesn't actually cook a lot, his brother is usually the one to take care of that and... he's not very good at cooking still. If anything, he's just standing around watching his s/o cook and handing them anything they ask for. But it's still pleasant!
Pitch (Horrorswapfell Sans) does still cook for the household often, despite his injuries. And very well too! He has a system in place and doesn't really like people messing with it, so he'd prefer his s/o stands back and lets him do the cooking. But he won't mind if they stick around and chat while he does his thing!
Wolf (Horrorswapfell Papyrus) is actually a lot better at cooking than his counterparts and still likes to do so every now and then, the only person his brother trusts to put things back exactly how he left them. He'll be delighted to cook with his s/o too, liking to do that cheesy guiding their hands thing.
Sunny (Horror G!Sans) doesn't actually cook all that much himself, preferring to order takeout when possible. He's... got a bit of a problem with remembering things, so he usually leave the cooking up to his brother if that's happening that night. But he wouldn't mind cooking with his s/o there to remind him what needs to be done, or just handing them the things they need!
Briar (Horror G!Papyrus) doesn't often cook that much either, usually busy with something or another. (That doesn't mean he forgets to eat, definitely doesn't mean he lets others forget either.) But he does prefer to do it himself when he does, but he wont mind the company!
Poppy (Horrorlust Sans) is pretty slow and sedated anymore, but he'll cook occasionally! Usually when his brother isn't feeling well enough that day. He'll be very happy to cook with his s/o, though things may get derailed a bit by how clingy he can be.
Rose (Horrorlust Papyrus) would love to bond with his s/o through cooking. He'd really appreciate the help too! It's a bit playful and teasing, even in the kitchen, but it's definitely fun. And the finished product is always amazing.
Hit (Mobfell Sans) doesn't cook. He just doesn't. If his brother isn't doing the cooking, then he's eating out. So if his s/o is doing the cooking... he's going to be more of a hindrance than help. Eating ingredients or batter or just distracting his s/o if anything else. If his s/o doesn't kick him out of the kitchen, his brother will.
Sniper (Mobfell Papyrus) would just be happy to have some competent help for once, instead of an annoyance he has to kick out of the kitchen at least once every time. His taste is more on the expensive side, so he's likely going to have to teach his s/o how to cook whatever they're having that night. But he's more than happy to! It's good bonding time!
Lucky (Mobswap Sans) is a bit.. controlling in the kitchen. He really prefers to do the cooking himself, but will let his s/o help if they really want to. But leave the harder stuff for him!
Strike (Mobswap Papyrus) often doesn't get to cook, nor does he have very much experience doing so, so his s/o is likely to be doing most of the work. He's happy to help though! His s/o just needs to tell him what and how to do it.
Capo (Mobswapfell Sans) mostly likes to do the cooking himself as well, but he's a bit more open to help from his s/o. If just a little. He still prefers to mostly be in control of what's happening, but is willing to let his s/o take care of side dishes and thing.
Clip (Mobswapfell Papyrus) doesn't know how to cook, so is more likely to just let his s/o handle any cooking that may occur. He's more just there to be with his s/o and will do any muscle work if needed, or just fetch anything they need.
Pass (Horrormob Sans) would love it if his s/o helped him with cooking, he often makes the dinners with his brother anyway. Or at least for as long as his brother lets him, but he still enjoys doing so! He's a bit more playful while cooking, even if he does have to concentrate on whatever it is. Just don't ask where the food came from.
Button (Horrormob Papyrus) would be delighted to let his s/o cook with him! Or at least he makes it feel like they're help even though they're probably not actually doing much. But he sees it as bonding and likes showing them how to do things they might not have known before. Again, just don't ask where the food came from.
Gamble (Mob G!Sans) doesn't cook. Don't let him try to cook. He's definitely better than his brother, but it's still a disaster. His s/o is better off just making the food themselves, but letting him just hand them ingredients and things they need is going to end better than letting him make anything. They might be able to find something he could make without a fire or mess though.
Vig (Mob G!Papyrus) should not be let anywhere near a kitchen. His s/o would be better off banning him from even entering the kitchen while cooking, because if he tries to help something is going to end up on fire. Even if there was no fire being used.
Doll (Lustmob Sans) doesn't do a whole lot of cooking. He's often out and about, so he's not usually home long enough to do any cooking. It doesn't mean he's bad at it, but he just prefers to let others do the cooking. He's more likely to distract his s/o while they're cooking than actually help.
Sheba (Lustmob Papyrus) is actually the same as his brother. He enjoys cooking from time to time, but just isn't really home enough to do it. He'd actually be helpful when cooking with his s/o though, happy to learn what he can from them and just spend time together doing it. ... He'll still be a distraction at the same time though.

~Find the Missing Kids~
"alright, what's so important?" Hit groans, dropping into a chair beside his brother and in front of Ace. Who just drops a file in front of them. Sniper picks it up while Ace starts talking.
"A GROUP OF COLLEGE KIDS WENT UP MOUNT EBOTT A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO AND HAVEN'T RETURNED," he states, looking just as unamused as the other two feel. Hit growls, leaning back in his chair and pinching the bridge of his nose. Sniper just sneers.
"of fuckin' course they did. don't humans avoid the damn mountain?" Hit asks, glaring at the skeleton in front of them.
"USUALLY. BUT THESE KIDS WERE APPARENTLY RESEARCHING THE PLACE," Ace replies, looking even more annoyed than before. "AND HAD THE BRIGHT IDEA TO GO EXPLORING."
"THERE'S MULTIPLE MISSING CASES ATTRIBUTED TO MOUNT EBOTT. WHY ARE WE BEING CALLED IN NOW?" Sniper asks, looking back up at Ace and handing the file over to Hit.
"THE FAMILIES WANT A SEARCH AND RESCUE TEAM SET UP TO FIND THE KIDS," Ace replies, lacing his fingers together and leaning his skull on them. "AND WOULD GO SEARCHING THE MOUNTAIN THEMSELVES IF WE DON'T DO SOMETHING. THE UNDERGROUND MAY BE COMPROMISED. IF WE BRING BACK THEIR BODIES, THE PROBLEM IS SOLVED."
"how the fuck are we supposed ta find the damn bodies?" Hit growls, dropping the case file back onto the desk.
"AND IF THE KIDS ARE NOT DEAD?" Sniper asks, raising a brow bone and crossing his arms.
"THAT IS FOR YOU TO FIGURE OUT AND DECIDE," Ace replies, waving a hand. "BUT IF THOSE KIDS HAD SOMEHOW FOUND AN ENTRANCE INTO THE UNDERGROUND... YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO."
Hit groans, but Sniper nods. Ace leans back into his office chair, nodding towards the door.
"I'VE ASSIGNED TWO OF THE DOGS TO ASSIST YOU BOTH," he tells them, waving a hand in dismissal. He starts looking through some paperwork. "DO TRY TO BE QUICK ABOUT THIS. WE DON'T WANT ANYMORE MISHAPS."
"yeah, yeah," Hit grunts, pushing himself up from the chair. Sniper stands as well, scowl deeply engraved on his skull. Ace momentarily glances up, looking over the two.
"OH, BE CAREFUL OF THE CAVES. YOU KNOW HOW DANGEROUS THEY CAN BE," Ace grins, a twist to it that the two are well acquainted with. They just narrow their eye sockets at the skeleton, then turn and leave. Dogamy and Doggo greet them, apparently already ready to head up to the mountain.
"I ASSUME YOU'VE ALREADY BEEN BRIEFED ABOUT THE MISSION," Sniper says, glaring back at the dogs. They nod, Sniper huffing. "GOOD! MEET US AT THE BASE OF THE MOUNTAIN. AND BE QUICK ABOUT IT!"
The four quickly leave the police station, Hit and Sniper climbing into the sleek black car that belongs to the latter of the two. Sniper speeds off, grumbling incoherently to himself the whole way to Mount Ebott. The two dogs pull up shortly after the two skeletons, all four climbing out.
"WE'RE SPLITTING UP AND SEARCHING. DOGAMY, COME WITH ME," Sniper demands, pointing off in a random direction. "WE'LL COVER MORE GROUND AND MEET BACK UP IN THREE HOURS."
"yeah, yeah, boss," Hit sighs, leaning back on his heels. "got it."
"DON'T SLACK OFF EITHER!" Sniper growls, glaring down at his older brother. "FIND THESE IDIOTS QUICKLY!"
"ya got it," Hit replies, giving a sarcastic salute. Then he and Doggo head off into the trees, Sniper and Dogamy going the other way. They stick to the trail for a few minutes before picking their way through the underbrush. "should've picked better damn shoes fer this."
Doggo apparently picks up on something, heading farther into the trees. Hit follows after him, raising a brow bone.
"find somethin'?" He asks, picking up the pace.
"I heard something," Doggo replies, sniffing the air. "But I'm not smelling anything."
Hit pauses, trying to see if he can hear anything. And he does, faintly. He can't make out what it is though, so he figures it could just be an animal. But he doesn't feel like it is and it's the best lead they've got so far.
"Follow it," Hit orders. Doggo nods, following the sound. He has to pause every so often as the sound goes silent, but as they get closer, they can start to make out words.
"-some-"
"-me-"
"it's got to be one of those kids," Hit figures, glancing all around to see if he can spot anything. He can't but they're likely getting closer to the source.
"-someone-"
"-please-"
"hey!" Hit calls, Doggo pausing as the voice cuts off for a few long moments. "where are you!"
"Someone please-!"
"where are ya!" Hit calls back.
"Someone please come and help-"
"we're coming, but ya gotta tell us where ya are!" Hit calls back, already starting to get a bit annoyed. "can ya hear me?!"
"Help! Please, someone!"
Hit growls under his breath, but at least the voice sounds closer.
"There!" Doggo points out, making Hit squint. He glances around, but then he sees the figure. What looks like a college girl, just standing with her back turned to them.
"hey! were you the one screaming?" Hit calls, but the figure doesn't react to the call.
"Someone, please!"
"it's definitely her calling," Hit sighs, trudging through the undergrowth towards the figure. "hey! behind you!"
"Someone please, please! Come save us!"
"we're right behind you!" Hit calls, getting annoyed. Those his eye sockets widen when the figure moves, running away from them. "hey! get back here!"
"Help! Someone please come and save us!"
"fuckin' hell," Hit growls, him and Doggo giving chase to the girl. They lose sight of her after a few seconds though, making both growl in annoyance. "fast little shit........ fuck, where'd she go?"
"There!" Doggo says, pointing.
"Help!"
"stop fuckin' runnin' and we can!" Hit calls, the two chasing after the sound. They soon spot her again, as she seems to have paused long enough for them to do so. Though she immediately starts running again when they almost catch up to her. "that little shit."
It goes on like this for what seems like forever. Just when they think they've lost her, she calls out again and lets them spot her again. Then just runs off again before they can completely catch up with her. Hit's getting sick of it and ready to let her rot in the woods when she disappears from their sight again.
But they have been able to spot a few things in their glimpses. Red stains and what looks like it could be broken bones on the girl. Things they could swear weren't there the last time they looked.
"Someone please, please come and help us!"
"fuckin' kid," Hit growls, leaning on his knees. Doggo follows the sound, then perks up.
"I smell something," he says, making Hit raise a brow bone.
"what?" He asks, following the dog monster.
"Someone, please come and save us!"
"I think I've caught their scent," Doggo replies, speeding up a bit more. They get closer to where the call is coming from too, making the skeleton growl.
"Someone please, please come an-" The call cuts off immediately after they step into the clearing, no one in sight. All they can see is a pile of rocks and more trees.
"ya smell anything here? or hear that girl?" Hit asks, Doggo still sniffing around.
"I can pick something up, but only faintly," Doggo replies, growling slightly. "It rained, washed the scent out."
"Hey! Can anyone hear me?!"
"where'd that come from?" Hit asks, glancing around. "hey! where are you!"
"Hello?! If you can hear me, we're trapped in this cave! Please, get us out!"
Hit looks over at the rocks pile, glancing over it. He sighs, turning to Doggo. He nods back the way they came, grimacing.
Well, this isn’t an entrance to the Underground, he knows that much… They’d definitely be dead if they made it there anyway.
"go get my brother and dogamy. tell 'em we found the kids," he orders, Doggo nodding. He runs off, Hit turning back to the rock pile in front of himself. "don't worry, help's on tha way!"
"The rocks fell on some of our friends!"
"got it. we'll get yas out," Hit calls back, glancing over the pile again. They're likely going to have to use magic to dig the kids out. "ya know where yer friend out here went?"
The voice doesn't sound the same as the one that lead them here, so he's assuming she's not trapped in there with them. Clever little shit, leading them here. Though if she was free, why didn't she go down the mountain and get help? Or just lead them there like a normal fuckin' person instead of making them fuckin' chase after her?
"What? We're all in here!"
"then who lead us here?" Hit asks, raising a brow bone.
"I don't know! But we're all in here!"
Hit looks back as Sniper and the dogs break through the tree, immediately heading over to where he's standing. Sniper looks over the rock pile, grimacing.
"THE KIDS ARE IN THERE?" Sniper asks, looking down at his brother.
"yeah. some of 'em are trapped under the rocks," Hit informs him, making Sniper huff.
"WE'LL HAVE TO BE CAREFUL DIGGING THEM OUT," he says, then turns towards the rocks. "IF YOU'RE ABLE, BACK UP A BIT. WE'LL HAVE YOU OUT SOON."
"Okay!"
Hit and Sniper start moving the rocks carefully with blue magic, the dogs digging at the ones the two tell them to. And soon they've made a small hole in the pile, but not large enough of one for the kids to climb out of. Sniper glances through the hole, confirming that the kids are in there. Then they work at widening the hole.
"ALRIGHT, THERE'S A HOLE BIG ENOUGH FOR YOU TO CLIMB THROUGH," Sniper calls. "ONE AT A TIME, COME ON NOW."
A girl climbs through first, grimacing. Dogamy helps her out, the girl stumbling and falling onto the ground once she's fully out with a small sob. A tall and thin boy comes out next, joining the girl on the ground. A small boy with broken glasses is the last to come out, coughing and hacking as he does.
"My cousin isn't able to get through that without having it collapse. It's too small and the other two are under the rocks," the taller boy says, looking back at the skeletons.
"UNDERSTOOD," Sniper replies, sighing a bit. "YOU, BACK UP AGAIN. WE'LL MOVE THE REST OF THE RUBBLE."
"think if we move too much more, tha rest of the cave'll collapse," Hit mentions, glancing over the rubble.
"THEN WE'LL JUST HAVE TO BE CAREFUL, WON'T WE?" Sniper replies, making Hit sigh.
"damn humans ar' more trouble than they're worth," Hit grumbles quietly enough so the humans with them can't hear it. Sniper just shakes his head, mostly ignoring the three huddled on the ground.
They're eventually able to open the hole wide enough for the last free human to climb out of, taller and stronger looking than the other three. Though he immediately turns back to the hole, looking a bit panicked.
"hey, kid. we'll get yer friends out. don't do anythin' stupid," Hit says, motioning the kid to stand back.
"One.. She... The rocks fell on her," he says, staring down at the pile. Hit grimaces, glancing up at Sniper.
"WE'LL GET HER OUT, YOU GO JOIN YOUR FRIENDS. DON'T GET IN OUR WAY," Sniper orders, the boy reluctantly going over to the sobbing girl. "YOU TWO, BE MORE CAREFUL WHILE DIGGING. WE CAN HOLD THE CAVE UP FOR NOW, BUT TRY NOT TO DESTABILIZE IT."
The dogs nod, turning back to the pile. After a few minutes, they're able to dig through enough to find a boy with his legs trapped under the rubble. He's knocked out, but still breathing. They pull him out, the dogs pulling him over by his friends.
His legs don't look too good. Hit and Sniper doubt he'll ever be able to walk again.
"that just leaves the last girl," Hit says, glancing up. Sniper nods, glancing over the rock pile.
"WE SHOULD BE ABLE TO DIG HER OUT. JUST BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL," Sniper orders, glancing over the roof of the cave.
It's about ready to collapse again, but hopefully they'll be able to dig this girl out before it falls completely.
Hit and Sniper step a little closer to the entrance of the cave, their magic starting to strain a bit against the rocks. But the dogs shouldn't have to dig too much longer before they find the body of this girl.
"We've got her!" Dogamy barks. He and Doggo pull the girl out, the four Monsters positive that she's dead at this point. There's no way she's alive, not with the way she looks and her open, glassy eyes. Hit and Sniper let go of their hold on the cave ceiling, the rest of it collapsing in on itself. The dogs lay the girl's body on the ground, the Monsters blocking the sight from her friends. Sniper kneels down, taking the girl's broken wrist in hand.
"DEAD," Sniper confirms, standing back up.
