Alright, to ao3's soon to be arriving Wattpad Refugees, a basic guide to general user culture:

1.) Unlike Wattpads vote system that let's you like each chapter, the ao3 equivalent kudos only allows one per work. Everyone is generally quietly annoyed about this. To engage with each chapter, you're heavily encouraged to comment. Trust me, it makes people's day.

2.) Ao3 has no algorithm. By default it's latest updated work first. You can find things to your taste through searches, filters and tags.

3.) 'No archive warnings apply' and 'user has chosen not to use archive warnings' mean two very different things. No archives warnings means the work is free from any content that could require a warning tag (character death, graphic depictions of violence, non-con, etc). User has chosen not to use archive warnings means it could contain any of the warning content, be it hasn't been explicitly tagged. Treat it like an allergen. No archive warnings apply is allergen free. User has chosen not to use archive warnings, may contain traces or whole chunks of the allergen. If you're likely to have a bad reaction, maybe don't take the risk.

4.) Speaking of warnings, ao3 has very few restrictions on the type of work that's allowed. Whatever your personal thoughts or feelings on that are, thats how the site is. You're likely to run across some dark subject matters and a lot of people are uncomfortable with reading that. You're well within your rights not like these works and have your opinion on whether they should be allowed, but harassing the authors of such works (or any works) is more likely to come back on you than them. Ao3 operates on a strong policy of 'don't like, don't read'. Use the tagging system to your full advantage to only engage with the kind of works you want to see.

Hello! I have been wondering for a while but when you make Mc do you base them off yourself or do you think of them as a whole other character?

A bit of both really. Sometimes they're whole characters on their own (like in Lady In Black and Nightmares Never End), sometimes they're just me wearing a mask (There's Still Magic, and it's spin offs, and The Writer), and most of the time it's a melting pot of the two.

I like taking little bits and pieces a lot, sometimes I just think of what I might do in a situation and go from there. I think a lot of writers do this honestly.

About the AO3 "No Guest Comments for a while" warning

If you're not following any of AO3's social media accounts you might be in the dark as to what kind of "spam comments" have engendered this banner at the top of the site:

These spam comments have been posted about a great deal on the AO3 subreddit for the past couple of days. Initially they comprised a bunch of guest (logged out users) bot comments that insulted authors by suggesting they were using AI and not writing their own fics. Some examples, from the subreddit:

But it then escalated to outright graphic porn images and gifs being posted in comments, again by logged out 'Guest' accounts. Obviously, I'm not going to give examples of those, but between these two bot infestations, AO3 has clearly decided to act and has temporarily closed the ability to post comments for users who are not logged in with an AO3 account.

Unfortunately, this means that genuine readers who don't have an AO3 account won't be able to leave comments on fics that they enjoy.

If you are a genuine reader who doesn't yet have an AO3 account, I strongly suggest getting yourself on the waiting list for one. More and more AO3 authors are now locking their fics down to registered users only - either due to these bot comments or concerns about AI scraping their work - which means you're probably missing out on a lot of great stuff.

Hopefully guest commenting will be enabled again at some point soon, but I suggest not waiting until then. Get yourself on that list.

Wait times are going to be longer than usual at the moment, due to the current Wattpad purge [info on Fanlore | Wattpad subreddit thread], but if you're in line, then your invite will come through eventually.

Some fluff please, shy!child mc making breakfast for everyone, each plate their favorite type of breakfast. Like eggs, bacon, waffles, pancakes.

I don't know who you meant this for, I've got like... four or five child!Mc stories. I assume you mean Undertale, but I'll just do one for each of them.

Undertale:

The horrors would likely just eat anything she made them regardless, but their favored..

Grey (Horrortale Sans) honestly likes a simple breakfast, eats whatever's made. He does like bacon and eggs though, and will often make it a sandwich for ease.

Lunar (Horrortale Papyrus) still loves the dinosaur oatmeal, and that's his favorite breakfast to have. With some toast and orange juice too, if he's feeling fancy.

Brick (Horrorfell Sans) likes sausage and bacon actually, with a bit of syrup to dip the sausage in.

Birch (Horrorfell Papyrus) has a bit of a sweet tooth admittedly. He likes waffles, they're his go to when he has the time.

Stone (Horrorswap Sans) will honestly eat anything really, though doesn't indulge in his favorite often because.. he doesn't find it healthy. His favorite is cinnamon rolls! Especially homemade ones.

Silence (Horrorswap Papyrus) just likes a simple bowl of cereal honestly. Specifically the one with marshmallows, but the off brand ones that come in large bags.

Pitch (Horrorswapfell Sans) likes French toast, some bacon, and a cup of black coffee. Simple and delicious.

Wolf (Horrorswapfell Papyrus) isn't exactly picky. He'll eat anything you put in front of him. But he does particularly like French toast sticks, with a side of sausage to dip in the syrup too.

Pass (Horrormob Sans) has a bit of an order. Poached eggs, crispy bacon, not too cooked toast, and a cup of black coffee. He prefers making his own breakfast though, because he's very particular about how it's done.

Button (Horrormob Papyrus) is very similar to his brother. Only he'd like oatmeal instead of eggs, and he likes to sweeten his coffee too.

Sunny (Horror G!Sans) likes eggs. Funnily enough, he likes them sunny side up and on toast.

Briar (Horror G!Papyrus) likes a bacon and eggs sandwich, something easy he can just grab and go with but still tastes good. Kind of like a McMuffin.

Poppy (Horrorlust Sans) honestly just prefers a Blueberry bagel with cream cheese, it's his favorite breakfast meal.

Rose (Horrorlust Papyrus) likes chocolate chip pancakes drowned in syrup, sometimes with a side of sausage or bacon and eggs.

Admittedly, they'd prefer to make the breakfast with Mc. Just so she doesn't end up burning herself and it's a fun bonding experience! They find it very cute and sweet she's putting her cooking experience with them into making them breakfast though.

BATIM:

Bendy admittedly has a bit of a sweet tooth. He likes pancakes with a side of eggs and bacon. And some coffee to help wake him up.

Boris is a simple wolf who likes simple things, but who also likes cooking. His favorite breakfast, which he doesn't make often, is biscuits and gravy.

Alice is a bit... picky, so to say. She likes her breakfast a specific way. An omlette with bacon and cheese, and some veggies and onions. With a side of toast, lightly buttered, and a black coffee.

Allison likes blueberry waffles with some apple juice, that's it really.

Tom is also a simple wolf who likes simple things, but doesn't like the hassle of cooking. He likes some scrambled eggs and bacon, with a black coffee.

They'd all be flattered (and surprised) and a bit wary of Mc making something for them, that's real sweet but uh... They'll eat it! They're just a bit concerned and would want her to wait until Boris is there to help her, you know so she doesn't hurt herself.

CotL:

(This'll go probably considerably out of canon, but that's okay. We're just gonna roll with it..)

Lambert is really simple to please. Half of the time they're eating grass sandwiches. But they really like vegetable omlettes, and they'll gobble those right down.

Narinder likes steak and eggs, it's his go to for breakfast when he can eat. Otherwise he usually just skips breakfast entirely.

Leshy likes anything. Some type of veggie dish, a meat dish, any follower that displeased him this morning? All good.... but he'll go for the cinnamon rolls first.

Heket honestly likes a veggie and meat omlette the best, but she's not too picky when it comes down to it.

Kallamar likes Shrimp and Grits honestly, but he'll eat that any time of the day. But it still is his favorite breakfast meal.

Shamura simply likes biscuits and gravy with some toast to go along with it.

Aym likes sticky buns. Just uh, don't tell Narinder.

Baal likes eggs the best, with a side of toast and bacon.

They'd be charmed she got up to make them breakfast, but Lambert would be concerned if she did it herself. That's a lot of cooking and she's very fragile, she didn't burn herself did she? They'd be a bit busy fretting over her than eating... Kallamar and Narinder would be wary, but everyone else would just eat and give many compliments to the cook.

poor memory is a huge deal and i wish people wouldn't diminish it by saying "oh yeah i can't remember what i had for breakfast lol."

i can't remember the first 10 years of my life. i can't remember entire days, weeks, months at a time. i can't remember entire people, i can't remember names or faces. i can't remember when things are scheduled for, my calendar app on my phone is booked to the max with reminders and task checklists. i can't remember when i moved into what home when, i can't remember important milestone dates like when i got or lost certain jobs, or when i started a new hobby.

that's what i mean when i say i have poor memory. poor memory is so scary for the person who has it. it's not a quirky thing, everyone forgets small details. memory problems are scary because you can go through entire events or days with no memory, or plan for things in the future that you can't recall ever even looking into or scheduling. it's not a funny haha kind of thing, it's serious, and it affects a lot of people in very unavoidable ways.

not being able to plan for appointments or work schedules, not being able to remember people's names or faces, not being able to recall whether or not you were present for something or whether or not you met someone, not being able to keep track of what's happening on what dates and losing track of items because you can't remember where you put them are all very real problems, and anyone dealing with them deserves to be taken seriously, and not diminished when they choose to speak up about it.

I’ve had people (non-pornbots) try to strike conversation out of nowhere in my DMs recently, and now I’m wondering if they were doing that because they wanted to follow me and thought they needed to interact first. I feel compelled to say, just in case, that it’s totally okay to follow this blog (or my side blog, for that matter) even if we’ve never talked before.

Also, I’m legit confused. Is this how follow culture works right now? It was worded like it’s common sense but is that really a thing?

Most of the Gasters actually had pretty decent relationships with Asgore and Toriel, and are even considered close friends to a certain point.

Victor (Underfell) and Pluto (Swapfell) were even considered confidants to Asgore after Toriel left. Don (Mobtale) was also considered this before his betrayal to the "crown."

Asgore, after his children died and Toriel left, also kind of saw Gaster as a sort of son, so also had a tendency to be a bit nosy about certain things. Wing (Undertale), Teddy (Horrortale), Stars (Outertale), Waltz (Dancetale), and Echo (Swaptale) didn't mind as much. They liked to ramble and Asgore liked to listen. Victor (Underfell), Pluto (Swapfell), Ivory (Underlust), and Don (Mobtale) didn't like it so much, however. For their own reasons.

Hi! I was wondering whats is one thing you don't like about the Undertale fandom if you don't mind asking!

Well, there's not really anything really. If I don't like something, I just ignore and block it. And I've never really been caught up with any bad side of really any fandom I've interacted with.

But I suppose if I had to come up with something... maybe how prevalent the skeletons are??? I mean I love them obviously, but they kind of overshadow the rest of the cast. But maybe I'm just not looking hard enough? Idk.

Hello! I hope you doing well! I was wondering if you don’t mind doing some Headcanons for Dust’s household.(Dust,Mc,Lunar, Grey and maybe.. the 2 other skeleton but that only if you would like!) you can obviously pick who you want to write about and it can be about anything!

I think I’ve said it before, but Dust does odd jobs. He doesn’t stay at the house all the time. He’s pretty well liked in the town he works in, everyone knows he’s good for pretty much everything if you pay him. He doesn’t like them, but he likes the income and not being reliant on the lodge or mob brothers.

Lunar is looking for a job too! Hasn’t found one yet at this point, so he mostly does housework (which frees Dust up to do more odd jobs) and some cooking practice with Mc’s recipe book. He’s going to start a garden too, eventually.

I feel like it’s pretty obvious, but Grey doesn’t actually trust Dust a whole lot. But he believes Mc at this point, so he’s willing to follow Dust’s lead to a certain extent. Another thing is, he’ll go out and feed the wild animals any scraps Lunar has. He’s a little interested in getting some small animals to take care of, and is slowly growing a colony of feral cats at this point. And squirrels.

I don’t really have one favorite movie. If you ask specifically, like my favorite Disney movie (toss up between Sleeping Beauty and Aristocats) or Barbie movie (Barbie in the Nutcracker) or Scooby Doo (Scooby Doo Ghoul School), I could answer. Obviously, but I can’t say I have an all time favorite.

I don’t watch musicals really, so no favorites for me.

I don’t like most fruits, I hate the textures most of the times. My favorite would be green apples though.

Never had an avocado, but I forgot what they looked like at work once and thought they were something else. I don’t know what, but the avocado was not an avocado for a few hours.

I have not had a smoothie or milkshake since I broke my jaw, I don’t think. I liked them a lot then though. Had at least one milkshake a day with some kind of protein powder, I think, to help with something health wise.

I wear jewelry whenever I leave the house. If I don’t have some kind of choker on, I feel naked. Usually necklaces and earrings are what I wear, but sometimes I’ll wear some bracelets. Very rarely an anklet.

I like jellyfish. Or bettas.
