And those losses do not absolve us of the choices we make.” ✨🌙✨ Since Court of Lions is the sequel and the conclusion to the Mirage duology by Somaiya Daud, this review won’t be especially in depth due to spoilers! Let me preface it by saying that while it took me a while to get into Mirage, I ended up thinking highly of the book, and Court of Lions was no different. Once I got back into the rhythm and pacing of the book, I fell back into this world with ease. A Sci-Fantasy about war and peace, love and friendship, death and slavery, this series had so much going for it and I was not disappointed in the slightest when I finally picked this one up to read. I really admired how Daud jumped straight into where she left off in the first book. There was a slight reminder about what had happened, and then it was full swing into the conclusion of this powerful Sci-Fi fantasy! There was so much character growth in this, and most of it was fantastic to see. Amani and Maram went through so much in the first book, and it was good to see the momentum Daud had gained within book one kept growing in book two.
