At first, when Cassandra got the she/they on her card, I figured, okay, yeah, sure, it's part of her personal journey from the she/her ancient night deity to the he/him Nightmare King to figuring out what their identity is with fully they/them and now settling into she/they. There was a lot going on in Cassandra's life, so change fits the character's theme.

But now we're more than halfway through the season and there was not a single they for Cassandra and then there's Baron, who has also been exclusively referred to as he so far.

And it feels more like post-production trying to save face and not like actual he/they or she/they representation. Like, the season wrapped, they exclusively she'd Cassandra and he'd Baron, but someone realized both characters used to go by they/them so they slapped a two pronoun thing on their cards.

Feels like there should have been someone there to lore-check during the season and go "hey, so, this character has gone by different pronouns so far?".

Minor FHJY SPOILERS + Kristen/Cassandra Theory

Okay so here is what I think is happening. Cassandra only has one follower and that is Kristen. Cassandra's whole being is tied to Kristen. Kristen is still super doubtful about Gods/faith in general still though I mean she straight up hasnt had time to really truely unpack her indoctrination. Kristen being so filled with doubt was the only reason she was interested in Cassandra in the first place. And realistically the biggest reason kristen decided to pledge herself to Cassandra is because the Nightmare King was gonna kill all kristen's friends. So Cass seems like a needy girlfriend and Kristen doesn't want to feel tied down to someone they are doubtful of. And on top of everything Kristen is a Cleric. She literally can't keep herself and her friends safe without a God giving her magic. So it's not like she can just "break up" with cass. So she probably feels even more forced into this whole thing. Idk it's just a very complicated situation. We only have two interactions between them so far this season but I think the arc has a lot of potential to be super interesting and probably relatable to alot of people for a lot of reasons.

They better keep Lydia disabled because if I lose that representation I will literally go into a rage myself. I know the curse is gone, but like. Lets get her physical therapy from all the intense stress her body been under. She'd definitley still have muscle tension and pain, and honestly, probably massive headaches too in my mind! Going from constantly enraged to finally calm to sone extent is certainly whiplash of some kind. I need to see a disabled person, even in a magical setting, get the help or aid they need, and still not have all the problems magically be gone. Like. I got a rollator recently. It MASSIVELY helped me and my mobility and my pain. And yet im still bedbound for today because my legs gave out on me this morning. Even if a lot of her symptoms are eased, its a big fucking process to get back to a healthier state. And I need to see that. I hope that Brennan will continue the good rep and the listening to people who know more about the minorities hes representing in his shows because if he takes Lydia Barkrock, disabled MILF away from me, I will go into a forever rage in her stead.
