Kagura takes a lot of pride in her magic-using abilities. She is highly skilled and taught some of her guildmates how to use their magic.

So it comes as a shock to everyone that her girlfriend doesn’t use magic.

Kagura has no issues with you not possessing a magical ability. In fact, it kind of gives her a break from the chaos that follows it.

BUT IF YOU THINK THIS GIRL IS PROTECTIVE OF HER MAGIC-USING FRIENDS JUST WAIT!

Magic, to her, is a blessing and curse because of what people can do with it. She finds a sense of comfort knowing that you can't be used for your magical abilities and you can stay out of harm's way.

That being said, you need to remind her that you are capable of taking care of yourself. You're not frail, you don't have any magic.

You two have probably bickered about that before.

If anyone looks at you funny she’s prepared to slash them into pieces. You have to literally drag her away before blood is shed.

The girls at Mermaid Heel think you’re adorable and even if you’re not a mage, they still invite you out to hang out! Especially Millianna and Risley.

And yes, Kagura has to steal you away from them or you will spend all day with them.

They joke that you're Mermaid Heel’s mascot since they don’t have an Exceed like Happy or Frosch. Congratulations.

Kagura will practice her magic in front of you and look over for some type of insight

But like, girl, how tf are you supposed to judge her? You can't do that so it looks good.

Mostly trying to show off, but she'll end up critiquing herself.

Her face still lights up when you praise her skills though. Even if you know nothing about magic.

She has tried to teach you some type of magic, rather it is gravity magic or even holding Archenemy.

Kagura Would respect your decision not to learn magic, but if you were curious about it, she’d try to teach you her early techniques.

She’s proud of you, no matter what you do, as long as you are passionate about it.

Whatever you choose to do in your time, she's got your back 100%. Even if she doesn't understand what it is, she supports you.

She's not so much of a cheerleader type of girlfriend, but she goes to all of your events with a gift and showers you in praise as soon as the event is over.

Kagura has a lot of fans and admirers. Though she will drag you everywhere so that everyone knows she’s off limits.

Kagura likes to show you off to her closest friends. She introduced you to Erza since she’s the closest thing to a big sister your girlfriend has. Erza was also shocked to know you weren’t a mage but praised you for humiliating Kagura.

I forgot how heteronormative the Fairy Tail fandom was back in 2015-2019, it could have been happening way before, but still.

Whenever I read fanfics religiously, I began reading Fairy Tail fanfiction years ago and it was always one of these books, that I read and it was either betrayal stories (I will not specify, some may already know) or...

Slayer Season stuff, kill me, and when reading these stories, I would see ships... I had no idea even existed but because I was dumb as hell and didn't finish the show, meaning I was walking on eggshells towards spoilers, I didn't but I remember Acnologia being mentioned and it unlocked some shitty memories.

AnnaLogia (Anna Heartfilia x Acnologia)

RogUra (Rogue Cheney x Kagura Mikazuchi

Don't know how this came to be, people see them as the Natsu and Lucy of the past but my interception being that Acnologia is a genocidal type of guy while Anna barely knows of his existence, I don't want their defenders coming after me when I say I ship AnnRene (Anna x Irene) Wait- Milfs together, Irene being with someone who won't leave her, can listen to her, while they stay in the library finding information and sharing with each other in a cottage- GUESS WHO JUST GOT A NEW CRACK SHIP- men didn't work out for Irene, so women would do much better- all in all, I understand what they're going for, but just no. Just no.

RogUra (Rogue Cheney x Kagura Mikazuchi

I don't understand. How in the fu-, I think what they were going for was how Kagura owned Yukino's life for about three days, and in the equivalent of StinYu, they needed RoguRa, They've never had any interaction, Kagura only argued with Sting over Yukino being in Mermaid Heel or SaberTooth, but even with all her interaction with men, she lacks interest in them, hell even Mashima didn't show signs of any guy approaching Kagura, fuck I might have jinxed my girl, although it pissed me off on how she got exposed to a lot of men in her "fight" against Dimaria, when Kagura is with Erza, genuinely she's more romantic with Erza instead of a MALE, Kagura KISSED Erza, KISSED!! Farther than any of the semi-canon ships can come up to, Kagura asked to be little Erza's little sister? Nah, it was avoiding her obvious wlw attraction, Rogue never interacted with her, he acknowledges her abilities, Kagura vs Millianna, he was genuine Kagura would win, I mean ofc she would, he saw her against Yukino, against Lyon and that mf is strong.

A lot of ships, specially some so-called crackships from the fandom really are rooted in heteronormativity, like with Rogue x Kagura or bickslow x lisanna (which later got more people actually putting in the thought process for their dynamic but i'm convinced it started to get lis out of the way of nalu), i don't know what kind of brain rot the early fandom had to just write "female character is hated on for no reason" or "smut that's this 👌 close to being omegaverse". I started reading ft fics in like 2014 and the first one i read was a just so full of lisanna and loke bashing cause of course they're "keeping Lucy and Natsu from being able to date each other", and today i find it so out of place cause i remember the rest of the plot was perfectly fine.

I feel like annalogia is like EndLu two electric boogaloo, like the pipeline was: nalu->EndLu ->AcnoLu (i remember seeing that being shipped)-> Annalogia

Which is objectively inferior to Annarene, like if you want to ship her with someone who's partially a dragon Irene is right there and asking for her character to do something. I'm a big fan of the possible things you can do with them even if I have never written about them besides them being funky lesbian vodka aunts in a luvia selkie au and i also love when milfs are paired together.

Shipping Kagura with any male character should be considered lesbophobia (/j). Of all possibly canon queer characters, i think she's the one where is the most explicit that she's a into women even before she kissed Erza, and has never shown the interest to men that other female characters have. To ship her with any guy, but ESPECIALLY with rogue who i think she has never had a meaningful conversation with (correct me if i'm wrong) is heteronormativity at it's finest and i have the theory it was made like that because people who shipped sabertooth members with each other were too cowardly to consider sting x yukino x rogue and Minerva was not redeemed yet. Kagura is like peak dyke activity/relatability, even if she did confuse her attraction to Erza, this woman has never non-platonically liked men in her life.

And ok i know some of these ships have shippers that actually see how they could happen or how it would work out in canon. more power to you, that's not my issue. my issue is that it's obvious many of the most accepted "crackships" were straight because the fandom couldn't even fathom lesbianism as a viable option

What are your top 5 Fairy Tail ships? And your top 5 Fairy Tail Brotps/Families?

Aww what a wholesome ask, Anon! Thank you so much!! 🥰 I've decided to split your ask (I hope that's okay?) because just talking about the romantic ships has turned into a fairly long post, and I am still struggling to narrow my favorite Brotp/Found Families down to just 5. 😅 There are just so, so many good ones in that category because platonic relationships was something Fairy Tail did best (in my opinion). I'm working on it though and will hopefully have that list posted within the next couple of days. (Spoilers: The Raijinshuu are Number #1...the rest are TBD 😂). For now, here are my Top 5 Romantic Ships in Fairy Tail. Narrowing it down was relatively easy, but I did struggle with the actual ranking of these so the order might be a little fuzzy... I like/enjoy other ships too, but these are definitely my top favorites!

Top 5 Fairy Tail Romantic Ships

Gajeel Redfox x Levy McGarden (Gajevy)

Jellal Fernandes x Erza Scarlet (Jerza) and Edo!Jellal/Mystogan x Edo!Erza Knightwalker (Mystwalker)

Elfman Strauss x Evergreen (Elfever)

Alzack Connell x Bisca Mulan (Connell) (AlBis)

TIE: Erik/Cobra x Kinana (Kinabra) and Wally Buchanan x Millianna (Do they have a ship name?)

(Warning: Some Spoilers for Fairy Tail & a few for 100yq even though I haven’t read that one yet 😅)

(1) Gajeel Redfox x Levy McGarden (Gajevy)-- I talked about these two at length here so I'll try not to ramble too, but their relationship was just such an incredible journey. I think it can be really easy to rush an enemies-to-lovers relationship, but what Gajeel and Levy had was really enemies-to-friends-to-lovers and this kind of slow burn in which Gajeel feels genuine remorse for the actions he took in the beginning, seeks Levy's forgiveness and tries to make it up to her for no other reason than that he knows he messed up and knows he owes her an apology and atonement. There is something so genuine in the way that he slowly earns Levy's trust, then they build this really beautiful friendship with each other based on that trust and mutual respect over the course of the series. I think it is really out of that friendship that their romantic love for each other grows and develops, and it is that love that really inspires both of them to become the best versions of themselves. It is an incredibly compelling storyline for them (especially for Gajeel who grew and changed so much over the series) and it was one of my favorite plotlines in the entirety of Fairy Tail. Also, that great banter they had was just *chef's kiss,* and don't even get me started about that confession sequence! It was everything!! I love them so much!!

(2) Jellal Fernandes x Erza Scarlet (Jerza) and Edo!Jellal/Mystogan x Edo!Erza Knightwalker (Mystwalker) -- I've discussed Jerza in the past (here), and while I generally see Edo!Jerza as kind of its own kind of thing, it's definitely tied with Earthland Jerza as one of my absolute favorite ships in Fairy Tail and so I went ahead put them together on this list for clarity. Like Gajevy, Jerza just such a journey, and I love that it was given the chance to actually be a slow burn and that the characters were given the chance to actually grow, change, and develop as individuals before pursuing that relationship with each other so that Jellal's redemption arc isn't cheapened by the romance. Erza is inspiring him to be better, yes, but it's so clear that he is taking these steps to better himself because he wants to not because he wants something from her (i.e. her love or a relationship). Jellal truly wants to be the best version of himself, the man that Erza believes he can be, regardless of whether or not he ever gets to be with her, and that's very selfless and beautiful, I think. On Erza's side, she freely chooses to love Jellal for who he is, not an idealized, fantasy version of him. She knows, possibly better than anyone, that Jellal is a broken and flawed man, but she also chooses to see the good in him and chooses to love him for who he really is. It's really like she's saying to him: "I know you've made mistakes, but you are not the sum of your mistakes, so I choose to love you anyway."

Mystwalker is just fun! We don't know a lot about them, obviously (besides the fact that they're canon of course. Gotta love the little princess!!) I really loved Mystogan as a character in general so I was definitely always hoping for good things for him, and I really loved imagining how his relationship with Erza Knightwalker ended up developing since we didn't really get to see much about how they ultimately got together.

(3) Elfman Strauss x Evergreen (Elfever)-- I have an upcoming bingo ask about them so I don't want to ramble too much, but as I talked about a little bit here already, these two are just that perfect balance between hilarious and adorable. On a certain level they both have such big personalities that are so wildly different from each other that it's almost goofy to think of them actually working out in relationship, but they complement each other so perfectly and have such a strong foundation of trust and mutual respect which I honestly wasn't expecting at first but was wonderful and delightful. I think the story does such a good job of showing us that they protect each other, sacrifice for each other, and want the best for each other, and ultimately they care about each other deeply, even if they don't always show it.

(4) Alzack Connell x Bisca Mulan (Connell) (AlBis) -- Gosh I shipped this one from back in the beginning from Battle of Fairy Tail onward and was rooting for them so much! I quite literally cheered when it was revealed they had gotten married during the time skip, and I was taking screenshots of Asuka and texting them to my sister like a proud grandma! 😂 They're best friends who have true love, a wedding, and a baby! I'm not sure what more there is to say about them than that. It's the ship of dreams, friends! I mean just look at them...

(5) TIE: Erik/Cobra x Kinana (Kinabra) AND Wally Buchanan x Milianna (Do they have a ship name? I don't know, but they should)

I just couldn't decide between them, I'm sorry. I love both of these pairings so much (though they are a little more obscure and out of the box 😅). I swear Erik and Kinana are the most likely couple in Fairy Tail to settle down on a farm and raise a whole hoard of kiddos together, and their entire storyline was just so sweet. I loved to see how Erik's love for Kinana brought out the best in him and my heart just ached when he sacrificed himself/turned himself into the authorities in order to protect her! 🥺💕

And Millianna and Wally are just such a delightful couple who lights up the screen every time they're together. I loved how supportive and encouraging they were of each other (even of each other's quirks), their strong foundation of friendship, and their absolutely wonderful (and extremely entertaining) banter. That scene where they're having that playful "fight" over whether Natsu is actually a cat or not was honestly one of my favorite moments in the series. We didn't get a lot of them (and I really wish there was so much more of them and their relationship), but they have true love, okay? 😽💖

I really, really like Millianna. I think she's cute, funny, and just generally enjoyable to watch. She's amusing. I also quite like Millianna x Lucy. It's an intriguing and cute ship, methinks. However, this should not be a surprise. I tried to find some fics about this ship, but couldn't find any. If you by any chance know of any, then please tell me. I refuse to accept that I am the only person that is writing a piece of fanfiction about Millianna x Lucy.

Also, I got an internship! I will be helping girls from Afghanistan learn. I'm not sure how this will effect my upload schedule, but hopefully it won't have too much of an effect.

The Cat Caught the Fairy (Millianna x Lucy ft. Mirajane, Erza, Cana, and Levy)

Mira watched with a soft smile as Lucy laughed at something she had said. The barmaid polished a glass before observing that the blonde across from her at the bar had finished her strawberry milkshake. She walked away briefly to bring back a refill. The celestial wizard smiled and thanked Mira, causing the white-haired woman to blush and look down at her hands that were polishing another glass, her heart slightly picking up speed.

Lucy then continued to talk about a recent job with her team, failing to notice the lovestruck gaze that was directed toward her. Mira had developed romantic feelings for the blonde in front of her shortly after she joined the guild. She's tried several times to confess her feelings, but either wasn't able to keep the courage that she had built up or couldn't get Lucy alone long enough.

The white-haired woman was frustrated beyond belief. She deemed herself lucky that Lucy hadn't already gotten into a relationship. If she was being honest, she had both feared and expected Lucy to eventually start dating Natsu, however, she was proven wrong when Lisanna and Natsu had gotten together.

The take-over mage was so happy that the main contender for Lucy's heart wasn't a concern that she felt a rush of courage to confess her feelings. However, before she could, she realized that she didn't know for sure if Lucy was interested in women. She had decided to wait for the appropriate moment she could ask the celestial wizard what her sexuality was.

Deciding that this current moment was the right one, she waited for Lucy to finish her story and begin sipping on her cold beverage. The white-haired woman sat the polished glass in her hands to the side and leaned forward to rest her chin in her palm as she propped her elbow on the bar. She asked, a smirk on her pretty face, "so, Lucy, are you into men or women?"

She chuckled as Lucy flew into a coughing fit, having choked on her milkshake upon hearing that question. Once she regained her composure, the blonde looked at Mira with wide, surprised brown eyes. Chocolaty brown eyes that Mira felt as though she could just melt into. The celestial wizard stuttered, "w-what?"

Mira chuckled some more and repeated, "are you into men or women?"

Lucy raised an eyebrow as she straightened on the stool she sat on, questioning, "are you asking what my sexuality is?" Mira nodded with a smile, silently hoping that she was into women. Lucy blushed and looked down at the bar, visibly flustered. She stammered, "I-I well...I guess I'm...um...interested in both...though, I think I lean more t-towards women."

Mira suppressed the grin that was trying to fight its way onto her face. Instead, she maintained a soft smile. She was ecstatic with that knowledge. Now that she knew the woman she loved was interested in women, she just had to find the perfect opportunity to confess.

Erza and Lucy walked through a marketplace, looking at the food, clothes, and other items that were being sold in a line of stalls. The two women were on a job together in Lilly Town, enjoying the peace they were able to get from Natsu and Gray.

As Lucy gazed around at the stalls, Erza watched her with a smile and a faint blush dusting her cheeks. She had asked Lucy to go on this job with her with the goal of spending more time with the celestial wizard.

For some time now, the red-haired mage had been in love with the celestial wizard next to her. She's been debating with herself about if she should confess or not. She knew that Lucy was more interested in women than she was in men, and that Natsu and Gray weren't problems since they were with Lisanna and Juvia respectively. The problem that Erza was having was that she didn't know if Lucy was interested in her in the same way.

Fortunately, she hadn't noticed any indication that the blonde was interested in anybody at all, so that meant Erza had a chance of getting Lucy to fall for her. She just had to figure out how to do so.

The requip mage was brought out of her thoughts when Lucy grabbed her arm and pulled her toward a stall that sold clothing, exclaiming, "Erza, look at that shirt!" Once they reached the stall, they observed a cropped halter top that had a galaxy design, something that Lucy would clearly love.

Erza watched the celestial wizard gaze lovingly at the top. Erza chuckled, taking out some money to buy the piece of clothing for her, when a brunette man slid up next to Lucy, a playboy-esque smirk on his face. He asked smoothly, "you like that shirt? How about I buy it for you, and in exchange, you can accompany me on a date?"

Erza watched as Lucy began trying to come up with an excuse to shoot down his offer, clearly uncomfortable. The man wrapped an arm around Lucy and prompted, "come on, what's the harm in one date?"

The requip mage felt her stomach turn in jealousy and disgust as she clenched her hands into fists and gritted her teeth. She didn't like seeing this guy flirting with Lucy and trying to get a date with her. Erza quickly requiped into her Clear Heart Clothing before she grabbed Lucy's arm and pulled her away from the man. Pointing the tip of her katana against the scared man's throat, the red-haired woman growled, "Lucy clearly isn't interested! Leave her alone or I will make you regret coming here!"

The man yelped in response and ran away. As she requiped back into her normal clothing, Erza heard Lucy's laughter from behind her. Turning around, she watched with a blush and eyes that reflected her awe of how beautiful the blonde was when she laughed. The older mage then turned to the merchant on the other side of the clothing stall and slammed down some jewel, requesting, "that halter top, please."

The pair of mages soon began walking to the train station to make their way back to Magnolia, Lucy holding the top with an appreciative smile and Erza wrapping her arm around the blonde's shoulders, bringing her in closer. Hopefully, soon she would be able to confess her feelings to the celestial wizard that was beaming at her with a lovely smile.

Cana gulped down a mug of alcohol, watching as Lucy worked on her novel next to her. She smiled softly. She enjoyed seeing Lucy so wrapped up in her written work. The celestial wizard was pretty as a picture and intelligent, two things that the brunette next to her loved in a romantic partner. Cana felt her cheeks warm when the blonde looked over at her and smiled before turning her attention back to her novel.

The card mage had loved Lucy since the S-Class Trials. She had considered the blonde to be one of her closest friends, possibly even her closest friend, but it was when Lucy helped her during the S-Class Trials that the brunette woman realized her growing feelings that went beyond platonic for the celestial wizard.

Cana was hesitant to admit her feelings to Lucy. She had always been open about her attraction toward women, and enjoyed teasing others about their sex lives, however, when it came to the feelings she held toward someone else, she wasn't so confident and vulgar.

She down another mug of alcohol and continued to observe the younger woman next to her. She was planning to confess soon. She just had to get Lucy alone. The celestial wizard was busy, now more than ever. She was always either on a job, working on her novel, or preoccupied with something else.

It frustrated Cana. She wanted to confess her feelings, but never got the chance. She was going to ask Lucy to go on a job with her, but didn't get the chance to as Erza had decided to drag the celestial wizard out on a job.

The brunette woman waved to Mira to bring her another mug of alcohol. As she downed the bitter drink, she decided that she would ask Lucy to go on a job with her. Once the blonde was no longer too busy and agreed to go on a job with her close friend, Cana would confess her feelings. She just hoped that Lucy felt the same way.

Levy laughed along with her best friend, enjoying the sight of the laughing blonde across from her. She felt her heart pick up speed and her stomach flip as her cheeks warmed into a light blush. The pair had been laughing at a joke that the blue-haired woman had said. She watched as Lucy pushed her newest chapter toward her and said with a sly smile, "I think that this chapter will be your favorite."

The bookworm accepted the chapter with a gentle smile. She was about to begin reading it when her best friend lamented, "I had to write it three times because my team kept destroying the chapter."

Levy gave her an almost pained smile. She knew that it was typical Team Natsu, but she still didn't like that Natsu, Gray, and Erza had made it a habit of breaking into Lucy's apartment and damaging it, even destroying the chapters of her novel. Levy wished that her best friend would put her foot down with her team, but Lucy loved Team Natsu, so she put up with their antics.

The blue-haired mage waved her hand dismissively, saying with a smile, "maybe you could keep them in a safe. That might save them."

Lucy nodded thoughtfully, responding, "maybe."

Levy then set the chapter aside, deciding that she wanted to talk to Lucy for a bit longer before she delved into the chapter that she had been waiting weeks for. She asked, "anybody you have your eye on?" She raised an eyebrow suggestively to drive in her point. She chuckled as she watched Lucy blush heavily and frantically deny that she was interested in anybody.

Levy was in love with her best friend. She had long accepted that fact. She knew that many of her guildmates would swear up and down that she was interested in Gajeel, however, that wasn't true. The dragon slayer was simply a very close friend. The letter mage would admit to herself that she loved Lucy, but she was unable to confess her feelings to the woman of her affections.

She had lamented to Gajeel, who was surprisingly supportive and encouraged her to take that bold step. The Iron Dragon Slayer would very often advise his small friend to simply confess to Lucy while they were talking about the latter's novel. It was an unspoken rule within the guild that the two women weren't to be interrupted when they were talking about literature. Levy knew that this was a good piece of advice. Nobody would bother them so she would be able to confess her love to her best friend with no interruptions.

However, this was easier said than done. Levy watched as Lucy calmed herself, playfully demanded for her to start reading the chapter, and walk away to get a strawberry milkshake. The letter mage picked up the chapter. She would confess eventually. She knew that she would.

Mira sat a mug of alcohol in front of Cana and turned to Levy, who sat one stool away from the brunette as she read a book, asking with a smile, "do you want anything, Levy?" The blue-haired woman shook her head, eyes still locked on the book in her hands. Mira nodded and looked back at Cana, inquiring, "are you planning to go on a job soon, Cana?"

The brunette sat down her mug before she could take a sip, giving a large smirk as she answered, "I'm planning to take Lucy on a job!" This statement got the attention of Mira, Levy, and Erza, the third woman having been in the middle of walking by to ascend the staircase that lead to the second floor of the guildhall so she could get an S-Class job.

Levy turned and remarked to Cana, feeling an inkling of jealousy settle in her stomach and begin growing, "really? You and Lucy must be awfully close then."

The card mage raised an eyebrow, saying with a slight laugh in her tone, "I sure hope so. I plan on telling her that I love her on the job."

This reveal caused Levy to snap her book closed, Erza to jump toward the bar and stare down at Cana, and Mira to slam her hands down on the bar. All three women had fixed a glare onto the card mage. Cana questioned as she crossed her arms over her chest, already understanding the reason behind the glares of the three other women, "is there a problem?" It was clear from her tone of voice that her question was a rhetorical one.

Mira gritted her teeth and sneered, "you are not going to do that!"

Cana glared at the white-haired woman. "Why not? I thought you loved when guildmates got together." Her tone was calm in an almost eerie way.

Mira bit back, "not when one of those guildmates is Lucy! You aren't going to ask her out because I am!"

Before Cana could say anything else, Erza snapped, "neither of you have a chance with Lucy! I'm her closest female friend, so naturally, I have a better chance with her!"

The three women snapped their attention toward the red-haired mage. Levy almost growled, "you are not her closest female friend! I am! I'm her best friend!"

The four mages then began arguing about which of them had a better chance with Lucy, and which of them would be better for her. They hadn't gotten far into their argument until Natsu yelled to them, "Erza! Your cat-crazy friend is here!"

The four mages turned to look at Natsu, who sat with Lucy and Gray at their table, pointing toward the guild's doors where a person in a black cloak stood. Confused, Erza walked around and had only taken a few steps toward the figure when they took off the hood of their cloak, revealing Millianna.

The requip mage gasped and was about to bound over to her childhood friend to engulf her in a hug when a squeal broke through the guildhall. Everyone, Erza, Mira, Levy, and Cana included, watched as an elated Lucy run to Millianna, jumped into her open arms, and slammed her lips onto the other woman's in a passionate kiss.

Erza vs Kyoka (Rewrite) (Part 4)

This party of 3 is about to get real crowded and someone's gonna lose the fight and another their life.

"You are supposed to be dead." Kyoka said, voice shaking a bit.

"Your comrade certaintly tried to eliminate me, but I don't intend to go down so easily." The blue haired mage replied, fixing her with a firm stare.

"I suppose we'll see about that." She prepared to attack him, but before she could even comprehend what was happening, she was being hit by a series of attacks. Looking up, she spotted several magic circles.

"Heavenly Body magic: meteor." Moving at unimaginable speed, Jellal was able to hit her a few more times and she couldn't deny that he was impressive.

"I see now why Lord Zeref warned us about you." Kyoka said, standing up.

"You should have never hurt Erza." His tone was cold and threatening, like it used to be when he was possesssed by darkness.

"It's strange how similar you two are. She said the same thing, before I defeated her, of course." Both glanced towards the reequip mage. Erza had fallen to the ground and she lay with her hands grasping at the earth and her body shaking. Her sobs were still audible to them and with each cry of his name or plead for death; Jellal's body tensed more.

"It will be alright, Erza. I'll take her down." He said, not forgetting about his opponent as a wall of golden fire shielded him.

"She can't answer you now. In fact, she can't even hear you." The demon said, smirking.

"What have you done?" Anger crossed his face while he sent the fire towards her.

"I exploited her weakness, just as I'm about to do to you." Kyoka took out her whip, but he managed to avoid it.

"Don't you dare." He screamed once she sent it towards Erza. Once again using meteor, he blocked the attack, this time using wind to send it far back.

"Impressive." The demon said, retracting her whip and instead making her sword appear. "But you won't be able to protect her forever. You'll end up exhausting yourself, so you won't be able to fight me."

"Don't be so sure." Jellal closed his eyes, concentrating. Within seconds, a familiar figure from the past appeared by his side. Blue hair, the same green eyes and red scar across the right one. Siegrain wore the same long white robe from back when he'd been one of the ten wizard saints.

"A clone?" Kyoka wondered, curious.

"It's good to be back." The illusion said, crossing his arms and smirking.

"I'm putting you in charge of Erza's protection. Don't disappoint me." The real Jellal said and the clone nodded before walking towards Erza. Standing in front of her, he created a barrier of water around them both.

"Now I can focus on you." Jellal then turned to Kyoka, who watched them with a smirk.

"Yes. I suppose I should give you the same treatment I gave Erza." She once again released her full power, sending torrents of energy around. Hearing Jellal's loud scream as he was overcome with pain was satisfying, but her happiness was cut short for the mage quickly recovered and used more magic circles to cancel out her Curse.

"Is this all you can do?" He stood in the distance, panting a bit. It was clear the fight was beginning to take its toll on him.

"How?" No one had ever managed to stop her full Curse before.

"You made a mistake by trying to use Erza to take me down. In fact, threatening to hurt her only increased my desire to eliminate you." Kyoka nodded, finally understanding.

"Seilah always reinforced that love is a human weakness, but I can see now that she was wrong." A thoughtful look came upon her face. "Love can become strength and I should use that to my advantage."

"I thought demons weren't capable of love." Jellal was confused and unsettled.

"That may be true, but our connection to Lord Zeref is stronger than any human emotion." She was smiling, a somewhat genuine smile, and it scared him more than he'd ever admit.

As she closed her eyes and began glowing dark purple, he got into a defensive position, readying his magic. After glancing once again towards Erza's nearly unconscious form, his resolve grew stronger. He needed to win this battle, for her sake.

Kyoka opened her eyes once again after a few seconds before extending her arms. "Lord Zeref, everything I do is for you. My master, my creator, allow me to eliminate this human."

This time her curse was five times more powerful, which didn't go unnoticed by her opponent. Deciding to conserve energy, he made Siegrain disappear and took his place in front of the red head. Using his full magic power, he conjured a shield, hoping it would be enough.

Unnoticed by either, two figures joined the battle just as she was about to use her ultimate spell. One had dark hair and bright green eyes while the other had brown hair and eyes. They were Milliana and Kagura, from Mermaid Heel.

"Oh, no." The former whispered upon spotting Erza and the latter's eyes widened once she noticed the spell Kyoka was about to cast.

"Careful, Milliana." Just for precaution, she used her gravity magic to create a shield around them.

In the end, though, it wasn't necessary. The demon's attack was focused solely on Jellal and, for a moment, it seemed as if she had achieved her goal. However, as soon as the dust dissipated, the two were somewhat relieved to spot the blue haired man still standing.

"How could he block that?" The cat wizard couldn't deny that she was impressed.

"How can you still be standing?" Kyoka wondered the same.

"Because, I can't afford to lose this fight." It was Jellal's response before he prepared to use his own ultimate spell. Kagura's eyes widened once she recognized it from the description Erza had given her after the Games.

"That spell...is the same he used..." Milliana also realized it.

"To kill Simon." The former finished, a shaky hand holding onto her sword. Emotions overwhelmed her: anger, regret, sadness, revenge.

For a moment, she considered taking it out and using it against Jellal like she had planned for so long.

Seeing her struggle, Milliana placed a comforting hand on her arm while shaking her head.

"Don't." Kagura sighed before looking back at her brother's killer. He was on his knees now, clearly exhausted. Only a few feet away lay the apparently defeated Kyoka and Erza seemed to be awakening.

Kagora let go of the sword and the two friends watched in silence as the red head finally opened her eyes and looked around in confusion before spotting Jellal.

They were confused by the look of disbelief on her face before she threw her arms around him while he held onto her tightly. Her sounds could be heard as he comforted her and Milliana couldn't stop the smile that came to her face.

It was nice seeing how caring and loving Jellal was towards Erza; it reminded her why she'd chosen to give him a chance. After all, as much as she'd hated him before, she wasn't willing to lose one of her oldest friends because of that.

Also, seeing how much Erza loved him made her realize she might be wrong to believe he hadn't changed. There was no way her friend would accept him if he was still the same cold hearted, evil man who had taken Simon away from them.

"He isn't the same person who killed my brother, is he?" Kagura wondered while watching the couple kiss.

"No, he's changed so much since then. Erza wouldn't love him otherwise." Milliana replied, still smiling.

"I suppose that, someday, I might be able to forgive him, like you have." She took the former's hand and squeezed it.

"I know that you're still hurting and I'm so proud of you for considering it, Kagura." A smile overtook the Kagura's face.

"Thank you, for everything." They hugged each other, glad to have a great friend by their side.

Unfortunately, the sweet moment was ruined once Milliana glanced once again towards Erza and Jellal. The couple were still kissing, unaware that a few feet behind them Kyoka had somehow arisen and there was a dagger in her hand.

This wasn't going to end well.

Alternate Fairy Tail Grand Magic Ball–Part 3

We’ve been on a road trip the past two days so I’ve just been writing and writing and writing and I’ve basically got all of these done. I just have to go through and reread them and make sure they’re all okay. So here’s some Jerza.

“What are you doing out here?” The voice made Erza turn from where she gazed up at the stars at the palace gate. A familiar figure stood beyond, cloaked in the shadows of an old street. Erza shook her head.

“Jellal…” She whispered, “What are you doing here still? The council is still looking for you—”

“Meredy and I are searching for Ultear,” he replied, “We lost her during the fight with the dragons. And you. Shouldn’t you be enjoying the victory ball with the other guilds?”

“I was,” Erza sighed. “Ichiya was following me around. I needed a place to hide, and… to think.�� Jellal came closer, and the shadows that once draped his figure vanished under the light of the moon and stars. He looked so serious, so powerful. “Actually, I was thinking about you. What brought you to the palace, anyways?”

Jellal allowed himself to laugh a little, “I heard the fireworks earlier. They made me think of you. We haven’t had a chance to talk since everything happened. I just thought that maybe… if we were even just close…” He reached out to touch her but then stopped, his hand in midair between them. Erza reached out and entwined her fingers with his.

“Stop doubting,” she whispered. “You’re a man who has so much good in him. Why? Why do you doubt that, Jellal?” He bowed his head, squeezing her hand, and when he looked up there were tears at the corners of his eyes.

“M-Millianna the other day,” he whispered, his voice hoarse, “And what you said, Erza…” Erza remembered now. “I’ve forgiven Jellal!” “Why?! I’ve done things that…. I can never forgive myself for and you’re so quick to forgive.”

“Stop, Jellal,” Erza shook her head. “You’ve been fighting those evils for so long now. Please, just stop. What you’ve done in the past… that wasn’t you. We both know that. And now, look. You’ve saved so many lives. You’ve saved my life several times.” She cupped his cheek with her spare hand and wiped away tears with her thumb. Then she leaned in, pressing her forehead to his, “I forgive you, Jellal. I forgive you.” She whispered. He choked on tears, clutching her hand tightly, and reaching up to press his other hand against hers resting on his cheek. He shook his head slowly, tears dripping off his chin.

“You deserve so much better than me, Erza.”

“I deserve better? I think I get to decide what I deserve,” she rethought her words for a moment and then smiled, “No. What I want.” Before he could move away she brushed her lips against his, closing the few inches of space that was left between them. He was stiff at first, almost ready to pull away, but the moment Erza’s lips left his, he leaned in to capture them again, releasing her hand to pull her closer against his body. His touch sent electricity up and down her spine. How long had she wanted to feel this with him? How long had she wanted to kiss him? To touch him? She remembered the beach, the way he had looked down at her, the way she had wanted this then. No, she had wanted this even before that. Maybe she had always been in love with him. In love.

Her hand moved from his cheek to his chest, and then down lower to his waist and his kiss deepened, before they separated to catch their breaths, still in each other’s arms. Erza smiled, before dropping her head against his shoulder. She whispered against his neck, her lips brushing against his skin.

“I’ll help you search for Ultear.”

“No,” He shook his head. “Erza, go be with your friends.”

“When will I see you again?”

Jellal pulled away from her embrace with that serious expression again. “I hope soon,” he replied. Erza reached out to grasp his hand.

“When I do, you owe me a dance,” she gestured to the ball where she knew all the other couples were enjoying themselves on the dance floor. Jellal almost seemed to blush.

“Deal,” he whispered. He turned to leave and paused when Erza called out to him again. He looked over his shoulder at her.

“Be safe, please,” she prayed. Jellal nodded once and slipped back among the shadows of the old city. Erza shivered in the cool light of midnight. She brushed her fingertips across her lips and smiled to herself. Jellal, come back to me in one piece. She turned back towards the palace. She’d have to face Ichiya at some point. Forgetting him, though, she had dear friends who were celebrating without her. She had long enough to think. It was time to share a bottle of champagne, and toast to a well-deserved victory.
