Friendly reminder that Michael Trent was a douchebag. He was not just being friendly with Lisa, he was actively leading her on. While I don’t think he had romantic interest in her other than physical attraction (hence why he was checking her ass out at her locker and smiling at her during class), he constantly tried to flirt with her on purpose, after you know what, resulting in Taffy’s interference to keep him away from her sister. This is made even more clear during THAT scene, as his tone with Lisa has completely changed when compared to each and every interaction they had before that, especially when referring to her as ‘kiddo’. He seems almost completely out of character during that entire scene, and that’s because he intentionally mislead her (and us, the audience) and why he briefly refers to himself as being dark and screwed up.

He had it coming.

Something about queer people going out into a world that is not safe for them. Something about being a professional in a highly homophobic field of work. Something about having to be careful, having to be discreet.

Something about him and Michael kissing in an alley so close to the street, exposed by the lights coming from passing cars. Attempting to hide, to be careful, to be safe, but failing, opening themselves to prying eyes, be them Trent's or someone else's.

Something about Trent not taking pictures, but walking on. Something in his eyes, in his somber expression, tells me he knows exactly what Colin and Michael are going through. And he knows, as well, that they're not safe. That trouble is on its way.

now that colin is canonically queer his repetition of “i am a strong and capable man” hits so much harder. he repeats it when he leaves michael’s house and when he’s made a sub. he has to constantly remind himself that having a relationship with a man does not make him a worse footballer (and he’s likely spent most of his career feeling like less of a man because he never saw other out, queer football players). i can’t stop thinking about his possible reaction when dr sharon first says that line to him. it was never just a throw away bit of comedic dialogue, it was his mantra, put there by the writers to anticipate this storyline

Hand-drawn story-driven adventure game Vivarium announced

A currently unnamed studio that consists of creator Michael Nowak and collaborator Trent Garlipp (A Walk With Yiayia) has announced Vivarium, a hand-drawn story-driven adventure game inspired by Love-de-Lic cult classics Chulip and moon, as well as slice-of-life adventure games like Boku No Natsuyasumi, with visuals and audio inspired by 1974 to early 1980s anime and manga. Platforms and a release date were not announced.

Vivarium is a story-driven adventure game set in the world of a terrarium!

Story

Art Style

Our style is inspired by classic animation, especially from 70s to 80s Japan. Vivarium features a totally hand-drawn traditional cel-animation process—reflective of the media it’s inspired by. Every frame of the game is hand-crafted with love! Vivarium‘s environments are rendered in rich, thickly saturated gouache painting. Every area features its own original art assets and highly detailed painted backdrop. Vivarium uses subtle post-processing, lighting, and color grading to achieve a retro-cinematic aesthetic. Hand-placed dynamic day-night cycle lighting. Grain, lens focus-blur, and a cel drop-shadow are all applied in-engine. These effects replicate the look of traditional animation photographed and printed on film.

You know what the ending of Ted Lasso feels like? It feelings like the show got cancelled and shortened.

We didn’t see Trent’s daughter, Michael didn’t turn up again until the finale, Trent and Ted didn’t get any kind of goodbye, Ted’s entire decision was made on one conversation, Zava, Shandy and Jack all pretty much disappeared, they made Roy and Jamie get into a very ooc fistfight to move the Royjamiekeeley agenda forward, we didn’t get to see how Colin later deals with coming out publicly, Dr Jacob didn’t get any punishment for his highly unethical relationship...it just all feels like they were forced to condense two seasons into one. Maybe that’s me still recovering from TOH clearly condensing the season so characters like Vee and Lilith didn’t get any more screen time, but it all feels like they tried to wrap up too much in one episode. So much was unanswered/unnatural.
