Discussing Blue Archive Lore and going progressively insane has been an experience. The Mystics, for example:
Each academy has its thing, right. Abydos is ancient Egyptian pantheon, Trinity is Christianity (+English/Irish/Scottish myth), Gehenna are the 72 demons, Valkyrie and SRT are Norse, Hyakkiyako is Japanese myth, and so on. So it's easy to establish a framework: "They're representative of cultural figures from x place".
So:
You have the ones that are Obvious: Shiroko is Anubis, Hoshino is Horus, Mika is the Archangel Michael, Seia is Gabriel, Hina is Baal, Wakamo is Tamamo no Mae, Niya is Ootakemaru, Kazusa is Cath Palug, Ako is Astaroth, among others
Then you have the ones that are "Obvious" as in "probably": Serika as Bastet, Saori as Lucifer, Nonomi as Nephtys, Nagisa as Uriel, Suzumi as Sariel, Koharu as Metatron, Hasumi as Sandalphon, Hinata as Jegudiel, Kanna as Odin, Miyako as Mimir, and so on.
Now you start getting a little out there, as you have to expand your the concept of "figure from x place" to "the concept from x place".
Shit like "well, Rin's family name is Nanagami, "Seven Gods", she's currently the highest authority at least on paper, so what if she's The Seven Holy Names of God per Jewish faith? If we assume the GSC President was capital G monotheistic God it'd make even more sense" "What if she's the seven heavenly virtues instead?" "Also possible but I think it's the former".
Then you get to fucking Millenium.
Tumblr media
"Yuuka's halo is a simple perfect circle that looks artificial. Her birthday is 3/14. She is insanely good at math. She's pi. Stop laughing. Look at her twintails. π. Come on, keep up."
"Rio is either the Theory of Relativity both as a relation to Himari's potential Quantum Theory of Light and as an important foundation of our concept of physics, which would fit with her being MIllenium's president OR as she's the President of Millenium and created the city of Eridu, she's supposed to be the Sumerian Deity Enki, God of creation, knowledge, and water and patron deity of the ancient city Eridu." "Maybe she's both." "SHE'S PROBABLY BOTH, THANKS."
"Himari could be the Quantum Theory of Light in relation to Rio - being a more modern and complete concept, or she could be Isaac Newton, who had a mild obsession in the paranormal, like her." "What if she's also got a Mesopotamian-" "It'd be Ishtar, both because of her antagonism towards Enki in some myth her interest in the stars and as a riff on her whole conceit about her beauty. Further backed up by Eimi being her assistant that handles all the physical work, making her the Bull of Heaven. Eimi even had horns in her concept art." "Someone just put forth Euler's Identity, because it's considered a representation of mathematical beauty, like a sonnet is for poetry."
Tumblr media
"The Game Development Department are Eroge Company references. Yuzu is Yuzusoft, Aris is Alicesoft, and the Saiba twins are Cyberworks's Wendybell and Tinkerbell. We can maybe assume that's just what they are." "Oh, thank god something stupid to end this post on-" "Aris's whole universally loved hero thing with an almighty weapon integral in saving the world might make her Gilgamesh-" "FINE OUR DAUGHTER IS GILGAMESH."

The Pre-Raphaelites' Top Best List
In 1905, William Holman Hunt wrote a book Pre-Raphaelitism and the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, where he recounted the formation of a declaration regarding immortality in the arts. Written by Hunt and Dante Gabriel Rossetti in 1848, it reads like a who's who of intellectuals, poets, and philosophers — among others. With a zealous, youthful approach to the relevance of each, they chose a star rating to establish the priority the list members held for the Pre-Raphaelites. Interestingly, Raphael, whose work was the catalyst for the movement's rebellion, is listed and awarded one star. It makes me want to go back in time and have dinner with Hunt and Rosetti and ask them about the inclusion of Raphael and also Columbus, curiously, in their list.

Once, in a studio conclave, some of us drew up a declaration that there was no immortality for humanity except that which was gained by man’s own genius or heroism.  We were still under the influence of Voltaire, Gibbon, Byron, and Shelley, and we could leave no corner or spaces in our minds unsearched or unswept.  Our determination to respect no authority that stood in the way of fresh research in art seemed to compel us to try what the result would be in matters metaphysical, denying all that could not be tangibly proved.  We agreed that there were different degrees of glory in great men and that these grades should be denoted by one, two, or three stars… Gabriel wrote out the following manifesto of our absence of faith in immortality, save in that perennial influence exercised by great thinkers and workers:
We, the undersigned, declare that the following list of Immortals constitutes the whole of our Creed, and that there exists no other Immortality than what is centred in their names and in the names of their contemporaries, in which this list is reflected:
Jesus Christ****, The Author of Job***, Isaiah, Homer**, Pheidias, Early Gothic Architects, Cavalier Pugliesi, Dante*, Boccaccio*, Rienzi, Ghiberti, Chaucer**, Fra Angelico*, Leonardo da Vinci**, Spenser, Hogarth, Goethe**, Flaxman Hilton, Kosciusko, Byron, Wordsworth, Keats**, Shelley**, Haydon, Cervantes, Joan of Arc, Mrs. Browning*, Patmore*, Raphael*, Michael Angelo [sic], Early English Balladists, Giovanni Bellini, Georgioni, Titian, Tintoretto, Poussin, Alfred**, Shakespeare**, Milton, Cromwell, Hampden, Bacon, Newton, Landor**, Thackeray**, Poe, Hood, Longfellow*, Emerson, Washington**, Leigh Hunt (Author of Stories of Nature*), Wilkie, Columbus, Browning**, Tennyson

The story made Y/n sick as it was recounted by the three-year-old on their way home. Florence didn’t know much. She was small and not good at picking up on insinuations or reading between the lines. The briefest description was that she looked similar to JJ, but JJ when Maddie was born. Florence was specific about that. Plainly, it translated to young, blonde, and pretty. And then subsequent jealousy from Y/n.
Despite the little girl’s naivety, Y/n knew the right questions to ask to get information without setting off alarms. “Baby, when did you meet her?”
“Uh.” She thought for a moment. “When Daddy was still teaching, I went with him to work. She’s doing a dis-art-something.”
“Dissertation.” Y/n corrected her, gulping when she realized that meant Lily was a student, probably his.
She knew there were lots with crushes on him, something she’d seen when she watched one of his first lectures to give him the confidence boost he needed. She couldn’t blame them. They’d even joked about it, the girls that would interrupt them in his office to ask questions they knew the answers to, but now it made her stomach twist. Never did she think he would be screwing one of them.
Her age plus her described looks seemed to make her incredibly similar to the JJ Spencer fell in love with years ago, and it was impossible not to be jealous of that.
That night also meant something more than Florence would hopefully ever understand. That night was the night Spencer packed up and left officially. It seemed impulsive when it happened. Why had he chosen that random day to pick a fight and leave?
During the chaos that followed, she didn’t think about it, but it made no sense. They used to barely talk when Spencer was out of town, and he left for Emily’s on one of the last days of his sabbatical. The calculated, Spencer-like thing would be to wait until the annoyance of being in the same city for 30 days took over and leave then. Or end things at the very beginning, so he’d have a month to enjoy a lighter workload without her.
It was clicking together now. All those little nauseating, anger-inducing puzzle pieces. There was no other explanation for it in her brain.
It took everything in her not to bawl her eyes out in the car, cry so much she couldn’t see the road. Somehow, she pulled it together for Florence’s sake. Without that much-needed emotional release, her outrage built up.
How much of a shitty person did he have to be to leave her after spending the day with his mistress? And introducing his daughter to her. It was 100 steps too far for Y/n.
Spencer was going to pay for it.
As childish as it was, she wanted him to feel all of the pain she was feeling. He liked physics. He understood Newton’s third law of motion. It couldn’t be any more mathematical to her: his actions caused her reaction.
“Do you wanna hang out with Michael?” Y/n asked, looking in the mirror at the backseat.
There was something she needed to channel her anger into. JJ’s offer of Will’s childcare still stood, and she could use it to exert the sadistic plan formed in her head.
“Please, please, please,” Florence begged, kicking her feet up and down happily. She thought Michael was the coolest because he was older than her and not her brother.
Once she dropped Florence off, Y/n cried immediately after getting back into her car. There was more anger than before, but still a lot of grieving for the relationship that was fast approaching its end.
As passionately as it started, it would end. Soon Y/n was set to be all alone in a way she hadn’t been in years and years.
That was the scariest feeling. Scarier than him being in the hospital because there was no chance. She’d spoken to Spencer every single day for almost a decade, and now she was going to have to not call him whenever she had something random to tell him.
The more she cried, the madder she got, all channeled directly towards Spencer because she realized it wasn’t her fault- all that distance between them and not getting back in orbit. It was on him. And maybe because of him betraying their vows.
Her mind rewound to the day they set those vows and Spencer’s face as he said them. He was in tears when he saw her walking down the aisle on their wedding day, and not unnoticeable tears. Even though it was years ago, she could remember how his clammy, shaky hands felt in hers and the heartfelt words he’d said. Then the letter later that night with sweeter, more personal words... and promises.
Promises he’d broken.
Then her brain focused on another wedding, the latest one they’d been to. A wedding they attended as guests, where Spencer barely looked at her. He spent his time throwing longing glances at JJ while Emily talked about Dave, Krystall, and twin flames. Her hands shook as she thought about how few alarm bells were set off in her head that night and how many should have been.
Fuck Spencer Reid.
If he was going to dish out emotional pain, he could take it too.
She would not be the one crying in her car with deep emotional bleeding while he got to have his cake and eat it too.
So she knew where to go, and there was one thing that would hurt Spencer the most. It undoubtedly would make her feel guilty later, and she would question her morals, but she was making decisions with her heart, not her head.
She was fuming, the rage radiating off her skin as she walked in there with a one-track mind.
“I don’t want this anymore.” She declared firmly, slamming the divorce papers she’d been carrying around against the wooden desk. She’d thought about getting rid of them after the night they slept together, so they could actually work on things without an easy escape.
“And what do you want now?” Her lawyer asked, frowning at her client.
The expression on Y/n’s face wasn’t one of happiness, like someone who had decided divorce wasn’t the right choice. If she were honest, it wasn’t the conclusion the lawyer thought Y/n would come to, not when there was so much uncertainty in her eyes when she drew up the divorce papers.
“Full custody.” She stated. “During his weeks at the BAU, I only want him to see them every second weekend. He can’t come into their lives whenever it suits him.” She justified, not just to the lawyer who was frantically writing as the words came out of Y/n’s mouth too quickly. “And if he wants to be at extracurriculars during that period, I have to approve it.” She added. The three didn’t deserve him to be in and out, hoping he’d make it as he chose what activities he wanted to be at. She knew she would cave on that one quickly. Especially if they asked for their adored dad to be there.
Her lawyer looked reluctant to ask the next question, but her pen stopped moving. “Do you want the same to apply to you on Spencer’s weekends?”
“No, not since I’m their stable parent.” She decided, explaining her reasoning. “During the times he’s not working with the BAU, he can have every second weekend and Tuesdays to Thursdays on the alternating weeks.” Five days, on average for that month, wasn’t a lot less than the original seven she’d asked for, but it would make it easier for their kids to have stability, to not rely on an untrustworthy Spencer, or that’s how she justified it to herself.
“Okay, any chance to the legal custody?” She asked.
Y/n bit her lip, almost reigning herself in for a second and not go in for the jugular, but the hurt from loving him was too overwhelming. “Yes, I want it solely. He has exhibited exceptionally harmful judgment making good decisions for years.” That change to her original petition was out of selfishness. When she was pushed for examples, Y/n didn’t hesitate to provide them. “Obviously, he was in prison, wrongfully accused of murder, but he still knowingly left the country without being briefed. Three months on the inside, doing God knows what.” She knew exactly what. She was the only person in the world who knew the entire story. “Even the FBI doesn’t consider him stable enough to be there full-time. He throws himself in front of bullets.” She neglected to mention that he’d never thrown himself in front of a bullet for the wrong reason or a reason she disapproved of. She was talking too fast with too much bottled-up rage, so it slipped out. “And he was addicted to Dilaudid while being an FBI agent without anyone but the tight-knit team knowing. The only reason he avoided relapses was because I held his hand.” It would kill him to read, and she’d hate herself forever for using his deepest secrets, but as her lawyer wrote, Y/n didn’t stop her. Whoever said ‘hurt people hurt people’ was talking about them.
“Wow.” The lawyer commented, reserving judgment professionally.
“Is that all?” Y/n asked. She needed to get out of there, and soon.
Paper was passed over to her. “So I can draft it.” Her lawyer explained. “Then he’ll get served, and we’ll wait for his response.”
Y/n didn’t know the probability he’d fight it. Probably high since all of the important things to him were being threatened, but she wasn’t sure he cared about any of them anymore.
She felt sadder after that. The removal of her anger only gave the despair more room. Her drive home after getting Florence was heartbreaking, and so was the entire evening, even with her three beautiful children.
Bennett noticed instead of Maddie when she was tucking him into bed after reading to him. “Mommy, are you okay?” He asked, looking up at her with Spencer’s eyes.
“Yeah, baby, of course.” She assured him before pushing the curls against his forehead back. “Why?”
He looked at her with a baby profiler stare. “You look sad.” He answered succinctly, unaware of how close to the truth he was.
“I’m not, bud. I just...lost my bracelet, and you know how sad you were when you lost your dinosaur last week.” She lied, explaining it in terms he’d understand. It wasn’t too grand a lie. Technically, she’d lost something.
It seemed to be enough for him. “I’ll look for it tomorrow.” He promised sweetly.
“Thanks, but tomorrow because you have to sleep now.” She reminded him, giving him another kiss before leaving him to sleep.
She didn’t sleep much that night or the night after that. The lack of sleep only shortened her fuse. Spencer did not help when he called her frantically in the middle of a work day, demanding she come to his office at college.
Both a sadist and a masochist, she went without thinking it through.
“What the fuck is this!?” Spencer demanded as soon as she walked in the door, not even waiting for her to close it.
“Good morning to you too,” Y/n replied sarcastically, walking past the couch and table to his desk.
He was standing on the other side of it, angrier than she’d ever seen him, with his eyes narrowed and hands gripping a stack of paper. “That’s not an answer.” He said firmly.
“Uh, well, I don’t know, genius, it’s not like I can see it.” She said antagonistically. It could have been a lot of things, but one, in particular, was more probable.
“Yes, you fucking do!” He maintained. His swearing was usually minimal and never directed at her out of anger.
It had always been fun to wind him up, although it usually ended in sex. This, Y/n was finding, was just as satisfying. “Okay, I can deduce that it’s one specific divorce petition.” She played ball, keeping her face neutral.
Spencer went off the rails, slamming the paperwork down on his desk. Amusingly dramatic, like a toddler throwing a tantrum, something she knew how to deal with. “It’s bullshit, is what it is.” He answered his own question. “You have this shit served to me here, just after I finish teaching.”
“Not exactly my choice.” She interrupted, giving him the same bored stare.
“Should we get onto the contents then?” Spencer questioned, but it wasn’t much of an offer. He was going to tell her what he felt. Even though she knew it, she stood there in silence. He picked up the paper again, angrily flicking through it. The words all made sense to him, and it didn’t take him long to read the first time, but he’d read a hundred times since. The words he knew, even the legal jargon, but he couldn’t understand why they’d all be put together, remixed to form torturous paragraphs. “I was acquitted for every charge in Mexico! I was drugged, and you’re using that as a reason you should get to make every single decision about them. That’s as wrong as it is unfair!” It was clear how much he was hurting, but she wasn’t looking. She felt guilty, but it was hard to apologize when Spencer was still yelling. She couldn’t blame him for acting erratically when she’d done the same thing airing out their dirty laundry. “Then my issues with Dilaudid. That could fuck up everyone’s lives if it ever got out. Trials, prison, firing.” He purposefully left out how much it broke him. It blindsided him that she left peacefully, only to tear their lives apart days later.
She stopped him when she shook her head, trying to justify the actions she’d jumped to out of heartbreak. “Don’t try and play me.” She said calmly but firmly, having not come to his office out of the goodness of her heart- mostly her guilt- to hear his monologue. “The statute of limitations is up on drug charges after five years.”
“I honestly don’t think the Attorney General will give a fuck.” He shot back, slamming the paper down on the desk as he huffed. His blood was pumping, and he couldn’t stop if he tried. “They’ll drag everyone into it, ask questions, and get answers. I could be sued for every case I worked on while I was high, Aaron for negligence, and even the rest of the team.”
“So that’s what you care about? Some legal proceedings?” She demanded. Spencer was really helping cement the idea that her decision was right and not rash. “Sign it uncontested. Then there’s no mediation or court between us.”
Spencer maintained a tendency to focus on one detail instead of the big picture, and this time it had given her the allusion he didn’t care about anything but not getting in trouble.
Only once had he heard that phrase relating to divorce, but back then, it was the Hotchner’s, and everyone knew how that worked out. Probably Y/n wouldn’t become the target of a serial killer and she’d probably be able to defend herself, but Aaron was broken long before Haley died.
“That is not fair!” He cried out. The custody was so much less than what he wanted. If he thought seeing them every second week was a frying pan, this was a red hot fire. “All I ever wanted was to be a dad!”
She chuckled humorlessly, rolling her eyes, but her anger got the better of her. “All I wanted to be was your wife, but we can’t have everything we want.”
“What, so you’re punishing me now? That’s real mature.” He spat out of pure anger. He couldn’t figure it out, and he could always figure it out. Something happened after she left the hospital, but he couldn’t figure out what. He wanted to tell her she could have that, that there was nothing more that he wanted than for her to be his wife again. His voice betrayed him, dropping off, and the tears were closer to erupting as he spoke softly. “I know you’re done, but what did I do to deserve this?”
“I don’t know. Ask Wren about who she hung out with the night before you left.” Y/n prompted him, not wanting him to have the ease of the whole truth.
He’d deny it. They always did.
She couldn’t even look at him. She just stared right through him like he never meant anything. It hurt them both.
With one final look, she turned on her heels to leave. She could feel Spencer’s presence as he maneuvered across the room, and there was nothing else she had to articulate. His brain was drawing a complete blank about what she meant.
“Wait, Y/n, don’t leave.” He pleaded, stopping himself from grabbing her hand. That would not go down well. “You can’t just walk away from this.”
Just like her, his anger was gone once he got it out, and they both knew things would be much less rocky if they screamed into a pillow, took a kickboxing class, or even went for a run. It was different from the Kübler-Ross cycle because they always skipped over bargaining and ended up with depression.
The lost, empty feeling sank deep inside. No hope, just despair.
His first love had been Math, but he knew the probability of coming back from this was 0 just from the way she looked at him: like he wasn’t, and had never been, someone she loved. All the brilliant ideas he had been dreaming up to earn her back felt delusional.
“Yes, Spencer, I can.” She assured him, tugging on the strap of her handbag. “You left first.”

Daphne being a sex historian, what college would she go to? Who would she meet? Kate? Edwina? Marina?
Honestly, I haven't thought much of it beyond that one post. Sex historian Daphne would probably be my go-to career for her though in modern aus like spouses friend group.
We all have those occupations we give the characters should we stick them in the modern world, some are obvious others I've thought about. Here's some mine that I have set at the moment.
Bridgerons:
Anthony - Lawyer/CEO. Spefically, he is the heir or head of the Bridgerton group, taking it over after Edmund passed.
Benedict - Artist. It is an easy one that transfers into the modern world. I can also see him potentially doing things like graphic design.
Colin - Travel writer. Another easy one, and I think he would go a step further and do either a blog or travel app.
Daphne - Sex historian. This one took some thought, at first I thought Daphne would run one of those mommy blogs but then I paused and remembered that Daphne didn't get married until she was 21 in the books and girl would probably want something for herself outside her marriage and family. Since discovering her sexuality was such a prominent thing in her story, I thought ok how to potentially transfer this into a modern world? Well, Daphne, in the books, said if she was curious about something, she looked it up herself and Violet was bad about explaining sex so it kinda became Daphne became curious and somehow turned it into a career.
Eloise - Psychiatrist or something in the psychiatric field. This stems from Eloise's interest in the humanities in the books. It's also something I see her getting into in college. I see her going into gender studies at first, with her current what she thinks is femenism ideolgy, but then she gets humbled in university, and it causes her to change over to psychology.
Francesca - Music. Francesca is the one I'm most on the fence about, but her professionally doing music is a nice option for her.
Spouses:
Simon - Lawyer/Engineer. So originally, I went with a lawyer because it matched Anthony and the whole house of lords thing with Simon being a Duke. Then I remembered Simon actually likes math and would probably fit well as an engineer. I want to say he started as an engineer and because law school doesn't care what your bachelor's was when he went (forced to go) he became a lawyer after.
Kate - Vet. I debated before settling on vet, at first I thought to make her a business rival to Anthony but then thought about the way she calmed Anthony down in the show, and at one point I believe they said something close to her being good with animals. So vet she became, plus with this she can take Newton to work with her.
Sophie - Tattoo artist. This was a debatable one, too. What eventually led me to tattoo artist was that Sophie wouldn't need much in a college education. If she's good at art and finds a willing tattoo artist to take her on as an apprentice, Sophie has the ability to make herself a career.
Penelope - Writer. Again, it's an easy one. I like to believe she does copywriting and an author.
Phillip - Bontanist. Why would I separate Plant daddy from his plants?
Michael - Night Club owner. I picture Michael starting in the army just as he did in the books, and then when he got back, he went well shit what do I do now? Goes back to school and decides fuck it I'm gonna open a night club. His charismatic ways are very helpful in his business endeavors.
Gregory, Hyacinth, Gareth, and Lucy I'm still playing with on what I would want their occupations to be.

hi hi! hello moot! First thing that came to mind was, how do you usually like to write? Like- Paper, phone computer; notes app, something fancy, google docs? Do you prefer to work in silence or with mood music?
Speaking of muuusic, any favorite artists/songs and why? :O (pretty sure you have a music blog but ive already rewritten this ask twice and im not risking it disappearing again to check LOL sorry ^^;)
Lastly, is there a certain Bible verse you love? It could be a life verse, or something that just spoke to you this week but I love getting to hear what sticks out to other people ^^
Tumblr media
p.s. your art is so cool like auueaieuaoeae
Tumblr media
Hi Moot!!! (Do you have a specific name you go by? Or may I call you Ferni?)
So when I have random ideas or want to write down something fast (sometimes, or I end up writing in there for hours) I used Google Keep. The OOH notes and notes for a post-movie au idea are insanely long at this point in time. I also have tons of sticky notes and random papers for these and various other writing projects too. I also use Google Docs and Word for more structured writing for those aus and for scripts of animatics. I like using Google Keep the most though because I feel like I don't have to have things formatted correctly and I can just pour everything I'm thinking on the page without being attacked by grammar corrections. It may also just be a mental block for me to use Docs or Word willy nilly, since I've written so many papers for school on them over the years. 😅
I love to work with background noise because my thoughts are loud and I get distracted easily, but sometimes I need to work in silence also because my thoughts are loud and I get distracted easily. Most of the time I switch between my different playlists, lo-fi, r&b, or jazz, but sometimes I love having a podcast or someone streaming a game in the background too.
My favorite music artists? Ohhh I have many favorites. 😅
My favorite band currently is Tally Hall. They are so weird and I love them. Though a close second and third are the Crane Wives and the Beach Boys. Some individual singers I love are Vance Joy, Michael Bublé, Laufey, Bing Crosby, and Nat King Cole. And my favorite soundtrack composers are James Newton Howard (my all time favorite), Joe Hisaishi, Hans Zimmer, and Michael Giacchino.
My music taste is all over the place though. (This is partly why I have the music blog, so I can share the different genres I love.)
Currently one of my favorite songs is this one:
(I have a soft spot for this genre of music, along with jazz).
And my favorite Bible verses are Psalm 23:4 and Isaiah 41:13. Both scriptures are a source of comfort, reminding me that God is always by my side. :)
Apologies, this is a bit longer that I thought. 😅 I had fun answering these though!!!
Thank you so much for the ask!!! And thank you for the kind art remarks, I really appreciate it!! <3 ☺️

Batgirl (vol. 3) #14: Terror in the Third Dimension
Read Date: May 01, 2023 Cover Date: November 2010 ● Writer: Bryan Q. Miller ● Penciler: Lee Garbett ◦ Pere Pérez ● Inker: Jonathan Glapion ◦ Rodney Ramos ◦ Pere Pérez ● Colorist: Guy Major ● Letterer: Travis Lanham ● Editor: Sean Ryan ◦ Michael Siglain ●
Tumblr media
**HERE BE SPOILERS: Skip ahead to the fan art/podcast to avoid spoilers
Reactions As I Read: ● I love the movie poster feel of the cover art ● I don’t know much about Supergirl, but the fact she just made a “that’s what she said” joke? I already love her! ● “requisite super-collider lab” — heheh ● ok, I wonder who this T.A. is going to end up turning into…
Tumblr media
● T.A. seems unchanged, but now we have movies coming to life ● I adore Kara and Stephanie’s friendship <3 ● 👏👏👏
Synopsis: Stephanie is playing scrabble with her mother when Supergirl arrives unannounced to hang out. Steph shows Kara around the Gotham University campus, and they go to the campus theater to see a vampire movie. Although most of the audience find the movie hilariously cheesy and laugh when Dracula screams he is alone, Steph and Kara know what it's like to really be alone and think it's depressing.
Meanwhile, in the university’s super-collider lab, something goes wrong with an unscheduled experiment to generate "hard light." The lab overloads and the theater takes the brunt of the blast, accidentally generating twenty-four hard-light Draculas. Steph and Kara decide it's time for a team-up and suit up. Batgirl and Supergirl investigate the explosion and talk to Newton Flitwick. He explains about the hard-light projector and that the best way to dissolve those vampire projections is embedding a control rod in them. In other words, driving a stake into the Draculas' hearts.
Batgirl and Supergirl spend the whole night hunting vampires all over Gotham. Back at the Brown residence, Supergirl hears trouble back in Metropolis and she has to go. Before Kara leaves, they make a deal that the next time one of them feels alone, she will give the other a call.

hey there! i dont know if you already explain it or not, but can i know the bridgerton profession/what they currently do in your bridgerton text au? maybe even for upcoming character👀? thank you for answering and i hope you have a splendid day!!!
yes of course! and i truly apologize for taking ages to answer this –
simon was a midfielder for arsenal, and a little while after he retires from the team, he goes on to coach ⚽️ daphne is a school social worker (violet is the head of a huge uk educational non-profit, and daphne initially thought she wanted to follow in those footsteps, but then realized she wanted to work in schools and be more directly involved with helping students who needed support)
kate is a florist! she owns a cozy shop along cobb street called "once and floral" and brings newton into work every day 🥰 anthony is a barrister, specializing in civil liberties & human rights cases (which is exactly what edmund did – he was a guiding force for anthony, who was in his second year of university when edmund passed. edmund was also a relatively high-profile barrister, whose work was often covered in the news, which is part of why the bridgertons are prominent enough as a family to earn mentions in whistledown) sophie – before she met benedict again, she was waitressing and trying to save enough to go back to school. she eventually attends veterinary school, as she really loves working with animals 🐈 benedict was aimlessly working as a paralegal for several years (while quietly working on his art on the side, though without the intention of showing it to anyone else). inspired by sophie, he also eventually goes back to school so he can focus on his passion 🎨
colin worked with nat geo for a long time, starting out as a freelancer and eventually becoming a full-time photo editor for them. it often kept him out of london for most of the year, but by the time he hits 33, he's gotten bored with what he's doing, and decides he'll find something else so he can come back home penelope is a junior copy editor at danbury publishing house! though sometimes, if you see her typing at her computer, she's not necessarily working on proofreading manuscripts 🤔
eloise is a software engineer! sometimes, though, when she's writing emails, people think she's just on github 👩‍💻 pippa crane is a professor of ecology and environmental science at the university of gloucestershire (she's also recently divorced from eloise's cousin, marina, with whom she shares two kids)
francesca is a music supervisor for film! (she started out relatively young, but she got a leg up because her aunt billie is also in the film industry) michael is an actor! at the time of francesca's wedding to john, he's mostly doing theater, but his agent soon convinces him to start going out for film/tv. he does pretty well for himself, and a little after john dies from a aneurysm, he decides he's going to up and move to los angeles because it'd be better for his career (or so he says that's the reason for the move) (john, who was very into numbers, was an accountant. he knew he could do that anywhere, and told francesca he’d go wherever she wanted to go).
hyacinth works at danbury publishing house as well, on the marketing side of things! (she's very stumped when it comes time to market a book called miss butterworth and the mad baron). she starts out working there mostly because felicity took an internship at the publishing house while they were in university together, and it was kind of an excuse for them to goof off together a few hours a week gareth, at the time we meet him, is doing his postgraduate studies at UCL in civil engineering; he comes into danbury publishing offices every once in a while to see his grandmother (which is how he often winds up running into hyacinth)
gregory... doesn't know what he wants to do, but he works as a substitute teacher for secondary school. on the side, he also coaches miles' football team (their team name is the thunderbolts – name pitched by miles ⚡) lucy happens to work with mary sharma (as does lucy's colleague and best friend hermione). both lucy and hermione are primary school teachers 🍎
that's it for all the main characters! in terms of side characters ~
alice and will were simon's publicist and trainer, respectively. after simon retires, will decides to move on from athletics and opens up his own bar 😎
mary is a primary school headmistress. edwina is shooting for a post doc in philosophy, and a little while after kate and anthony get married, she meets a nice girl named jyoti, who kate and mary both adore.
posy, after reconnecting with sophie, gets inspired by her stepsister and goes on to become a nurse. benedict's friend group is a bunch of people he went to uni with – henry and lucy granville have the same last name because they're adopted siblings. henry manages an art gallery, and lucy is a pottery instructor. genevieve delacroix owns a bridal store, and wetherby is a medical sales rep (which is why he's the only friend benedict couldn't necessarily go to to ask for help for sophie)
philipa, same as daphne, gets married relatively young, and is a stay-at-home mother. prudence works at a jeweler’s, felicity is into graphic design, and portia is a big name in commercial real estate!
thank you for asking, because i have this in my head but not all the details make themselves known via text message exchanges 😆 so this was nice to write out! (to the person who sent this, i'm so sorry it took me so long to sit down and do this, but if you're reading, i hope you have a splendid day as well 💖)

pardon, but could you say what pigments you used for the teal/orange Jim painting? i'm new to dabbling in watercolor and not very familiar with what's what, but those are some of the dreamiest colors i've seen
Hey there, thanks so much! Absolutely!! This got very long, so here's the short answer if you don't want to read the breakdown:
Winsor & Newton Turquoise #643
W&N Intense Green/Pthalo Green (#329)
W&N Indigo (#322)
W&N Hooker's Green Dark #312
W&N Sap Green #599
Koi watercolours Jaune Brilliant
Holbein Artist's Watercolour Quinacridone Gold (#W142)
The long answer:
So, the majority of Jim's face was a self-mixed combo of two Winsor & Newton Cotman watercolours - Turquoise (#654) and Intense Green/Pthalo Green (#329). For the lines and places like the shadow on their hat, I also used a combo of Indigo (#322) and two other leftover deeper greens on my palette (likely Hooker's Green Dark #312 and Sap Green #599, but I am not 100% sure as I re-use leftover paint a lot XD)
For the orange, it was primarily an orange I have from a Koi Watercolours Pocket Field Sketch kit I bought literally over 15 years ago and no longer have the guide for - however, I am fairly certain that it's Jaune Brilliant. It is one of my favourite oranges, tbh! Very soft. There's also a bit of Holbein Artist's Watercolour Quinacridone Gold (#W142) to brighten it.
All that to say - it's mainly Turquoise, Pthalo Green, and Jaune Brilliant for the orange. I think the dilemma of something like this is that while this is a duochrome painting - orange and teal, essentially - it's got a lot of different paints involved to make it so rich! I really love the W&N Turquoise though, it's got a lovely vibrancy. Most of the watercolour tubes I buy are Winsor & Newton, they're affordable and last a very long time. I pick up a tube or two every time I'm in the art store and have a good stock built up!
You might not be looking for paint shopping opinions, but if you are, my recommendation for new to watercolour folks is something like the Koi Pocket Field Sketch kit I have. It's a bit pricy at the get-go ($40-$50 CAD, about $30-38 USD) but it has a 24-30 colours depending on which version you get/where you buy it (Amazon looks cheapest, but Michaels has the 30% off codes, so who knows lol). That's enough that you either have the colour you want on hand, or can mix something up easily. It's a really nice beginner's paint set, and designed so you can take it travelling. And lasts really well, even if you don't use it often - I basically didn't use mine for 10+ years and the colours have lasted well. And price wise, a single tube costs between $8-20 depending on brand and paint grade! So it's cheaper than buying a whole palette.
Anyway - thanks so much for the ask, this was fun to talk about! Good luck with your forays into watercolour!!

Hey, did you heard the news, season 3 of Bridgerton will be Colin and Penelope
Yeah, and I’m a little frustrated by it, but I’ll put my ramblings and reasonings about it under the cut, so anyone who’s not interested can ignore it.
Reasons Why Frustrated Besides Wanting to See Benedict & Sophie Next:
1.) I don’t feel like I know much about show!Colin and what information I do have is mostly from the book or Luke Newton. There’s also the fact that they wasted Colin last season. They should have spent more time developing his personality and not wasting time insisting that Colin had deep feelings for Marina. I cannot remember any scenes of them having an actual conversation or getting to know one another. Actually, they never had any scenes alone, if I’m remembering correctly.
2.) How the fuck is Penelope going to have time to fall in love? Seriously, she’s dealing with so much from her family’s situation to her estrangement with Eloise to Lady Whistledown. Also, there’s no indication that Penelope is tired of Lady Whistledown, which she was in the book.
3.) How are Eloise’s and Francesca’s stories going to work? Events in Colin and Penelope’s story are sort of catalysts for their stories beginning. Eloise was convinced that Penelope was going to be a spinster like her and Penelope getting married is what triggers Eloise’s reconsideration of spinsterhood. Francesca tries to set Michael up with Penelope. It just completely trips everything up with these two stories.
What I Want From Benedict Next Season Then:
1.) No getting high. No more being the comic relief, the levity. Give him a serious plot.
2.) Benedict dealing with Edmund’s death and how that affected him (aka the idea that losing Edmund is what makes Ben a bit flaky and why he’s so easily discouraged)
3.) Let Benedict get angry or frustrated, perhaps with Eloise
4.) Let Benedict interact with his siblings who aren’t Anthony, Colin, or Eloise. Give me Benedict and Francesca running into each other as they sneak out of a ball. Give me Benedict looking at Edmund’s portrait and Hyacinth or Gregory running into him and asking him about their father.
5.) The masquerade and the fact that Benedict spent six months searching for Sophie. (Perhaps a Sophie subplot which ends in her getting kicked out)
6.) Benedict being the first to learn about Francesca and John (and do not make John Stirling a rake or a villain. John was a good man who loved and adored Francesca.)
7.) No art plot. It got redundant with both the first and second season being Benedict trying it out and getting discouraged. His lack of art should be noticeable and show that he’s struggling and discouraged.
8.) Benedict not going to any parties that aren’t brought onto him by his mother.

A remake of Victor Hugo's immortal classic about the relentless pursuit of a man by the law, this latest film version of "Les Miserables" has some moments of high excitement and suspense, but, on the whole, it falls short of being the solid, marketable product needed for today's fickle boxoffices.
The Fred Kohlmar production has all the appearances of a great motion picture, for it boasts a superb cast, authentic settings and some astute direction, but its weakness lies in Richard Murphy's screenplay which has failed to capture the tragic overtones and stark drama of Hugo's original story.  After the early scenes, which are hard hitting, forceful sequences, the film lapses into a plethora of talk and emotional ramblings from which it never wholly emerges. The result of this is a film that will probably do its best business in art houses, or nabes-hoods and first-runs catering to class audiences. It will be a fairly strong attraction for action houses, too, but family spots will find it difficult to sell.
Director Lewis Milestone has guided his players with many adept touches, but has been unable to maintain the fast pace of opening sequences and has been hindered by the slow-moving screenplay in later scenes. The cast labors under the same difficulties, but some notable performances do emerge as Michael Rennie portrays the hero Jean Valjean in a warm, convincing manner and Robert Newton effectively personifies the law in his role of Javert. The supporting cast headed by Edmund Gwenn, Debra Paget and Cameron Mitchell is effective with no poor performances to be found.

Good Omens, Ep.2 - The Book
Another fantastic episode. And God are Michael Sheen and David Tennent just a perfect duo.   I could watch them on a show where they banter back and forth about nothing for hours. And you can too.  It’s called Staged, there are two seasons, and it can be found on Hulu.  Also, like to point out the Tennent has just mastered the art of swagger.
So, we are introduced to the book. No, not that book.  A book of prophecies written by the witch Agnes Nutter just before she was blown up at the stake.  The book is published, somehow in modern binding, in 1500’s and is passed down from generation to generation until it’s passed down to Anathema Device.  She’s recently moved to Britain from America and she going to save the world.  Also, we meet the Newton Pulsifer.  He’s the descendant of the Witch Hunter who tried to kill Agnes.  He has the power to blow up computers by touching them.  As this makes him virtually unemployable in the modern world, he’s decided to take a job as an assistant to one of the few Witch Hunters left in England (or, he says he’s a hunter).
We also meet War, who’s…war. Like the Horseman.  Because the Apocalypse has started and they’re an important part of the final battle.  Which Heaven is very excited about.
Meanwhile Crowley and Aziraphale are trying to find a way to find the Antichrist.  Aziraphale suggests they should look at the records at the Hospital where the babies where born to see if they can get information.  However, they find out it’s not so simple.  After the Nuns had delivered the babies, they were told by another Demon to either disband or die in a fire.  The records are gone.  They are able to speak to the Nun who Crowley gave the Antichrist to.  She is able to give them an area in which to look, but not much more then that.  So, the pair go to the town in search of the boy.
Meanwhile, Anathema is also looking for the Antichrist and she meets him.  But he’s such a normal boy hanging out with his normal friends that she really doesn’t think much of him.  She takes her bike and starts the ride back to her cottage….only to be hit by Crowley’s car.  Well, it was a mutual hitting.  Anyway, Aziraphale heals her wounds and they take her back to her cottage.  Unfortunately, she had the copy of Agnes’ prophecies with her and she accidentally leaves it in the car.
Crowley and Aziraphale drive back to London as they were unsuccessful in finding the boy.  It turns out, though, both of them have human agents and they plan to tell those agents to start looking for the child. As Aziraphale gets out of the car, he sees the book.  Because Aziraphale runs an old bookshop (and because he’s been around for a few thousand years), he knows exactly how rare and important this book is.  But he doesn’t tell Crowley.
Aziraphale goes into his bookshop and chooses a page to read in the book to see if the prophecies are as accurate as they are rumored to be.  Aziraphale is able to confirm they are, in fact, perfectly accurate as the first prophecy is about him reading the prophecy.  He then starts at the beginning of the book and reads through the night.   Crowley calls in the morning to see if there’s any progress.  Aziraphale still doesn’t tell him about the book, but everything in his conversation probably is pretty clear to Crowley that he’s hiding something. The phone call ends and he goes back to reading; only to find a prophecy that gives him a sign.  Well, a telephone number.  He calls the number and it turns out to be to Adam’s home.  Aziraphale has found him!
