For as long as he'd remembered, he's had a song in his mind and words scrawled over his heart, but no one in Nassau says his words, and the song in his mind grows louder when they're at sea.
There's always been tales of pirates being lured to their deaths, by sirens and mermaids and creatures of the deep. They’ve been told since he’d been brought onto the Walrus, and he’s heard them all the same, they all end in the same result. They’re told alongside stories of men and women who fall in love because of words that are tattooed onto their skin at birth.
To Billy, all tales come with a grain of truth. ________________ After almost 2,5 years all alone on this crackship, I’M FINALLY GETTING LOWBONES COMPANY!  Holy shit, I’m so happy that  tyomawrites decided on jumping on the ship with me and turning Ned Low into a fucking shark mermaid!!! I so didn’t see that coming and it fits perfectly!  I’m fucking blessed! <3

Things about Edith, as well as Lisa and Billy in the Captain Underpants-Little Mermaid inspired AU
So I decided to add some facts for this AU since people are getting interested in it. Next up is Edith and the royal siblings:
Edith
-Edith used to live with her aunt in a house by the shoreline when she was still in her apprenticeship. Her family moved away sometime before this, but she wanted to stay as long as she could. In the present day she lives in the castle as one of the cooks.
-One of the things she likes to do is to give away treats at the boardwalk on weekdays when she isn’t working at the castle. It helps to make additional money and she enjoys making people happy with whatever she makes.
-She sees Billy and Lisa as more like younger siblings than as a prince and princess.
-Edith is NOT an alien in this AU.
-Edith has heard tales of the kingdom under the ocean and of its king. She isn’t sure if the stories are true or not, but if they are then she’s not happy that there are so many storms caused by the king’s anger. Yet she shake can’t shake off this strange feeling of pity towards the ruler.
-Edith knows how to swim, but she never took lessons so she isn’t a strong swimmer. Though she WAS taught how to use a harpoon gun.
-Edith was first drawn to Krupp for the kindness that he used to possess, in addition to his determination and confidence. She secretly found him to be very attractive since she liked large guys, but she loved him more for his personality. (I honestly have no idea what she saw in him in the film, but I’m taking a bit of a guess on this one).
-She only knows Krupp by his first name and was one of the few who were able to get away with that.
-She finds George and Harold’s comics to be pretty good and thinks that they should develop their talents.
-Edith has tried very hard to get over her heartbreak and succeeded for most of the past ten years. Her love life hasn’t been as great as her career since she still gets shy and a bit tongue tied, but she has tried. Its only when George and Harold show up that she can’t stop thinking back on the past.
-If given the chance to confess her feelings to the man she fell in love with once again, Edith would take it in a heartbeat, but only if she can be at peace with the truth as to what had happened. She’s tried to move on from missing her chance, but she wishes she could at least understand why Krupp left her all those years ago. She doesn’t know if something bad had happened to him or not.
-At one point, Edith can hear a voice that sounds suspiciously like Krupp’s when she is asleep, to the point that she doesn’t know if she’s dreaming or if she’s gone crazy. The voice is either singing, is asking her who she is, or compliments her eyes, but when she wakes up to respond, the voice vanishes. This only happens while George and Harold are staying at the castle.
-When Edith finally sees her old friend in his true form and is able to get over the shock of meeting him again, its not the physical features that scare her. Rather its the sudden nastiness and anger he somehow developed during those ten years apart from her.
-She’s not happy that Krupp didn’t flat out tell her about his true form (since it would have explained a lot) and her first response is to smack him across the face and yell at him for not being honest with her, and for ditching her and making her worry about what had happened to him all those years ago.
-Also, do NOT insult, talk down, or be flat out mean to Edith’s young charges when she’s right there to hear every word of it. You WILL be sorry.
-She wins George and Harold over even more by the fact that she can argue with Krupp without cowering from his anger, can bring him down a few notches, get him to shut up, and get away with it.
Princess Lisa and Prince Billy -The reason the two were adopted was because the king of the surface world was not interested in marrying and he didn’t want to have a child of his own out of a need to reproduce (also he’s not into men or women). He’s a man who wanted to prove that royalty does not have to be just a bloodline and that his family was of his own choosing. He loves them very much, yet he is also very protective of them and will not hesitate to use force against someone if necessary.
-The king’s name is Mason (I admit I just randomly came up with it).
-Neither children are guaranteed the throne by order of birth or adoption (Though Lisa is biologically the oldest by two months). The king will decide based on which child is up for the role of king or queen and which one shows the right qualities for the responsibility. It doesn’t matter to any of them right now.
-Despite that they may bicker like siblings, they are devoted and protective of each other.
-They both enjoy playing on the shoreline and at the boardwalk.
-Lisa is the braver of the two, but she has a bit of a temper, despite her best attempts to keep it down, while her brother is much more level headed and can think things over a little more carefully.
-Billy is already a boy of good taste in art and architecture, but he still likes the kind of things boys would be into at his age. He is also the more studious of the two siblings.
-The siblings would both love to one day meet a merperson and learn more about the kingdom under the ocean, which they hope is real. They have one question though: do mermaids even use a toilet under the ocean?
-Do I even WANT to know the answer to that question? (Actually no, I’m ok not knowing. I already pushed it by bringing it up in the first place. I don’t want to even try to provide an answer to this question in the AU).
-In this AU, Lisa is of mixed heritage by being one half Hispanic and one half Black. (I keep thinking she’s a POC, so I’m just going with it here).
-Their father used to correspond with the king under the ocean though special messages, but he’s never actually encountered him face to face before. The siblings don’t know if this is true or not because that sort of contact is supposed to be kept secret between both rulers, though this ceased about ten years ago.
-Lisa and Billy have had a lot of mother figures, but Edith is their favorite, even though she’s like a big sister to them. They hope that they can help her find happiness because they think she deserves it for all she’s done. They did try to set her up with a few people, as well as their own father, but she declined each one as kindly as she could (“Plus I like men who are on the big side.” She added when explaining why a relationship with the surface king wouldn’t work).
-Neither one immediately develop strong feelings towards George and Harold beyond friendship in the present events of the AU. (However Billy may or may not develop a small crush on Harold). Lisa is a little more suspicious of the boys than Billy is, but she eventually warms up to them.
-Despite the fact that Lisa tries very had to appear responsible and all grown up, she secretly is amused by the boys sense of humor and knows how to make herself belch on command (which George especially likes). She is also a romantic at heart and likes a good love story.
-Both siblings enjoy George and Harold’s comics.
-It takes awhile before either of them finally see CU. It freaks them out but he encourages them by believing that its a good sign that they’ll both one day become great potential rulers. He is amazed when he learns they are of royalty and calls them by their titles until they ask him to please drop it and that its ok if he treats them as regular children.
-I imagine George and Harold would be REALLY relieved to have someone help keep CU in check in any AU or version of Captain Underpants.
-Not long after they meet the king of the ocean, Lisa is the first to get angry and call Krupp out for trying to keep the two kingdoms apart and for causing so many dangerous storms. Billy is the one to try to get her to calm down as the mershark gets increasingly angry at her in return. (Meanwhile the boys are just happy to see a kid their age being able to stand up to Krupp).
And these are the facts I can give away without going into the ending. The next characters to get facts will be... well, I’m open to anyone who has questions about the other characters. I still haven’t completely figured everything out yet.

Things about George and Harold in the Captain Underpants-Little Mermaid inspired AU
So I decided to add some facts for this AU since people are getting interested in it. Next up is George and Harold:
George and Harold
-Harold’s family lived in the castle under the ocean first and then George’s family moved in later. As mentioned before, their parents work for the king and Harold’s dad still left his family. The boys grew up together as if they were more like brothers, but they are still the best of friends.
-The first prank they ever committed at around age five involved a lot of sea urchins placed on the floor on one of the hallways. This lead to them properly meeting their king for the first time and the unsuspecting mershark had no idea that his warning would be seen as a challenge to both boys to keep doing pranks. Krupp regrets ever hiring their parents to this very day but he can’t flat out fire them for their sons’ behavior.
-George’s dad was one of the few people to ever visit the surface world and he recounted the tales to the boys, who had their creativity fueled by those tales. They both desired to visit the surface world at a young age.
-The boys still go to school, but not much has changed in regards to that.
-The grotto was discovered when they were seven and it is here where they are able to draw and write what they want to make to their heart’s content. Its also where they store objects from the surface world that they found, and most of the objects they like are ones others might not find interesting (like a toilet plunger or a toilet seat). They also found comic books that dropped into the grotto somehow and that was how their love of comic books was born. This also gave them some visual ideas of what the surface world was like, even though they knew that most of it was pure fiction.
-ALL THE TOLIET HUMOR RELATED TO THE OCEAN AND WATER THAT YOU CAN THINK OF!
-Harold loves to play with dolphins to the point that it can be a distraction.
-George’s necklace (which has an orca’s tooth) is a memento of the day he first met Harold. It has the same color scheme as his tie from the film.
-Harold’s necklace is the same colors of his shirt from the film.
-The boys are at the age where, if they want to help a human breathe underwater, the mermaid’s kiss they can provide can grant the receiver about an hour underwater. Both are grossed out by this and hope that they never have to do it.
-The boys have caused Krupp to get extremely angry to the point of him creating storms a couple of times. They don’t think much of it until they see how destructive this actually is to the surface world a little later on and this forces them to accept the responsibility. They also are responsible for creating one of the worst storms the surface kingdom has ever seen when Krupp finds out where they are and what they did.
-It is their personal goal to make a prank that will involve Krupp to chew his way out of a trap with his infamous shark teeth.
-Their secret code word for Krupp when they don’t want anyone to know what they are planning in public is ‘Bruce.’
-They heard the rumors about Krupp supposedly ‘cutting out his heart,’ but they find it amusing as well as disturbing and it doesn’t change their opinion about him.
-The boys found a certain red ring during an adventure involving exploring some gaps in rock formations that are small enough for merchildren to fit through, but it was still in a very dangerous area that was infested with large eels. They also were NOT supposed to be there, but someone tattled on them and they were grounded. This, combined with Krupp’s threat of separating the boys forever if they kept up their behavior, and all the rules he enforced, was what told the two that they need to break the rule to never go to the surface world.
-The plan involving the escape to the surface world involves looks of squid ink.
-George and Harold’s bracelets that turn them human are a matching pair, with George’s having a sun symbol and Harold’s having a moon symbol. It’s important to note that George was wearing the red ring when they made their escape.
-They made themselves human the moment they got to the shoreline. They were excited to the point they almost forgot that they needed to ‘borrow’ some clothes as soon as possible. They also adapted to having legs a lot faster than Krupp did.
-The first humans they met were Lisa and Billy, the adopted children of the king of the surface world. They all got along really fast, though Lisa was the more suspicious of the both of them at first.
-The boys find underwear to be the funniest article of clothing ever.
-It was later that first night, in the privacy of their guest bedroom that they shared, that they both snapped their fingers. This summoned CU out of the ring and the boys were terrified of him at first because they thought he was Krupp. It took awhile for them to warm up to CU and they were the ones who gave him the name ‘Captain Underpants’ when they saw what he wore in his human form. (They are also relieved when they learn that they can see him because they are genuinely good of heart). Still it confuses them as to why he looks and sounds like Krupp and it takes awhile before they recall the rumor about what Krupp did to himself.
-They are able to figure out that the power of the bracelets has a loophole–they can still work beyond three days if they don’t keep wearing it for that exact amount of time. So they revert back to their true forms at night when they need to sleep, and they accomplish this by sharing a very spacious tub that they dump a lot of water and salt into. They can just slap the bracelets back on the next day and not worry about reverting back when they aren’t ready for it.
-...Ok, maybe they might cuddle a little when that happens, but it’s only out of friendship.
-They meet Edith the next day. They are scared of her at first until they see how nice and friendly she is towards the prince and princess and she lets them eat some sweets she made. Its a few days later that they hear Edith’s story about someone who was like them and they discover the photo that reveals who her crush was about ten years ago. It takes them awhile to put together all the pieces and figure out the truth about Krupp.
-Their favorite ride on the boardwalk is the great big roller coaster, despite the fact that they puked after their first ride. Their goal at the boardwalk is to ride all the rides and to win every game, but the one they can’t is the high striker because they don’t have the strength to reach the topmost bell (ironically, Krupp was able to accomplish this when he was a human. Meaning he at least beat them in something).
-Harold takes a liking to Billy, though it takes awhile for George to like Lisa since she tries to act more mature than them (no romance between the kids at this point). The royal siblings and Edith are also the ones who show the boys around the kingdom and George and Harold regard them as their best human friends.
-The boys are very fast to protect the royal siblings from Krupp to the point that they will ago against him before he can learn the hard way why its a bad idea to threaten them of all the human children.
-Harold regrets leaving his family more than George does.
-The boys get homesick more often than they would have liked. While CU can’t physically comfort them in his current state, he is able to recall songs from their kingdom that helps to comfort them. They both regard him as a very out of control, yet very caring older brother figure who should have been the younger brother figure.
-Eventually they make it a goal to try to somehow make Krupp whole once more in order to make everything right again, but they have no idea how to do so. They also want both kingdoms to be on good terms with each other once again and to try to make their own kingdom a better place.
-Once they encounter Krupp on their last day on the surface world, both boys can now understand and see right through him. They are terrified as heck at first, but then they are able to openly stand up to him and speak their minds as much as they want because they no longer see him as a monster, but an individual whose had a miserable life.
-George and Harold force Krupp into an ultimatum that they know he’ll struggle with before the AU reaches its big climax: They will willingly go back to the underwater kingdom with him and be separated forever. The first catch is that he has to tell Edith the EXACT and honest reason why he left her ten years ago. Otherwise, the second is that he HAS to accept CU back and regain the feelings he removed from himself all those years ago (thus he can become whole once again). The boys know that one of the two needs to be done to try to make things right once more. If he doesn’t agree to it, then the boys will reveal their true forms to all the humans in the surface kingdom AND tell Edith the truth about Krupp and all that he’s done to the ocean kingdom and to himself.
And these are the facts I can give away without going into the ending. The next characters to get facts will be Edith, Lisa, and Billy.

SOMEONE DID A SHORT FAN FIC FOR MY CAPTAIN UNDERPANTS LITTLE MERMAiD INSPIRED AU IDEA! THANK YOU @pirate-autobot (I wanted to share this immediately but I want you to be able to get the credit you deserve!) This is what they wrote and please be sure to support them and check out their stuff because they should be the ones getting likes for this, not me.
You did this to me!! You and your cool Captain Underpants Little Mermaid AU
Enjoy! (Possibly chapter 1)
It’s been a year since he disappeared. He said goodbye, and he was gone.
It still hurt.
In the light of the moon, Edith walked down the pier past the games and food kiosks. During the day, life and light filled every corner of the pier. Now in the darkness, it was a ghost town. She pushed her hair out of her right eyes as she reached the end. The water shined below her.
She sighed.
Thunder rumbled far off on the horizon.
Ever since he left, there were more and more storms. The seas were rough and the fish were harder to catch. If things didn’t change, she dreaded the thought.
“Benny.” She whispered
A tear found its way out of her eye and down into the ocean below.
But just out of sight, under the waters surface, another was watching the woman on the pier. He stared up at her as she stared up at the stars.
He felt sadness well up inside.
No. No! He had the scientist take those feelings. This was not right.
The mershark growled, fangs flashing. The thunder rolled, the wind started picking up. Let the humans feel his wrath. Let the storms destroy everyone on the surface.
Edith retreated back down the pier. From there she returned to the castle.
The prince and princess, mere babies, were stating to cry as the storm finally made landfall. Edith carried both of them as she sat down in a rocking chair by the fireplace.
“Sh, she you two. Everything will be fine. Maybe a story will help.” She said. “It’s about a strange man I met in his underwear. He was really weird, but happy. And he called himself Captain Underpants.”
*Screams in joy* AAAAAHHHH! I love this @pirate-autobot! I love how you did it and how you set up the atmosphere of it all! I admit that, sometime when I first started the AU, I’ve actually imagined Krupp watching Edith from the ocean and getting all depressed and sad for leaving her (and he’s a crying sobbing mess the whole time), so this was awesome! Argh, its been one year already, but he can’t resist going up just close enough to see her above the water, that is depressing and sweet! Also yay for Edith taking care of baby Lisa and Billy!
