Have you told the story of mollys first transformation yet?

Actually I did! It was covered in this post! Even how Scratch bit Molly is covered in the post as well as their first proper meeting, which was on the night she first transformed.

I'd say that she was scared and in a bit of pain when that transformation first happened, but the pain was gone quickly and she was in for a huge shock.

What if Todd was doc ock? I mean it fits very well surprisingly and I love it. He has ghost arms instead of tentacles but they can change shape. I went with Otto's NWH look.

So how would jinx vs the human world be like in your werewolf au if jinx isn’t actually the main antagonist like in the original and instead it’s the werewolf that turned scratch.

Would JvtHW be replaced by the battle with the werewolf or would jinx still be a big part of the story.

Well I don’t think the AU would have an EXACT version of that episode, and Jinx is still part of the story, she’s just not the main antagonist.

So I could see Jinx being a fan of the werewolf (he could have even been the one who bit her) since he does whatever he wants without caring about the consequences for everyone else. She has a kill count of her own, which makes her one of the reasons Scratch/Todd is trying to keep Molly a secret from most werewolves, as well as keep his human identity a secret. They encounter each other enough times that she really enjoys causing him great suffering and discomfort.

But of course, Jinx gets suspicious when she hears rumors of a werewolf child, so it doesn’t take long for her to find out about Molly or the human identity of the werewolf who bit her. However the stakes especially get raised when she hears who bit Scratch and instantly figures that he might go after that specific werewolf.

So she manages to imprison them before the next full moon and gleefully tells the two that she’s going to go on a bit of a killing spree in Brighton–and everyone close to Molly will be included–and she will frame them for it. The werewolf likely won’t even bother to come back to the area if too many people are dead and everyone becomes on high alert.

However, Jinx didn’t realize that there are already a few werewolves on Molly and Scratch’s side, in addition to Molly’s friends and family, a family of paranormal researchers/hunters… oh, not to mention an honest-to-God vampire girl who has connections.

Not only are Molly and Scratch freed in the nick of time, but Jinx is stopped just before her ‘fun’ can even begin. There’s definitely a fight between her and Scratch before she can be lured into the woods where the other werewolves can capture and subdue her. 

Sally (who, again, is the Head Werewolf of the county in this AU) informs Jinx that her actions not only would have costed the lives of many, but would have threatened the safety of all other werewolves. So she sentences Jinx to be taken deeper into the woods, where…. Well, its best left to the imagination, but she is declared dead the next day.

As I’m nearing the end of writing ‘Her First Forever Friend’ I am thinking about what other kind of TGAMM fan fics I want to write. I don’t think I’ll be able to write much in May due to what will be a crazy schedule, and I don’t want to have to worry about writing anything on top of the other stuff. However, I did have three ideas to ponder–

-So I talked about this before, but I know I wanted to do a fic that was a collection of stories that wasn’t covered in ‘Her First Forever Friend’ and fortunately I wouldn’t feel like I’d be keeping my readers in too much suspense with this one. Just basically stories/events that happen between chapters 1-4. I could get away with doing this fic alongside a second one if I felt like it.

-Awhile ago I talked about a ‘Just like Heaven’ Reader x Scratch story, which is pretty tempting. I haven’t seen a lot of Reader x Scratch stories and given how ‘Just like Heaven’ is a more romantic version of TGAMM there is some fun potential with this one. The only catch is that I’ve never actually done one of those ‘Reader/Character’ stories before and I’d want to try to make it as gender-neutral as I could. (Molly’s friendship with Scratch would still be important to the story if I did this).

-I had another ‘what if’ idea earlier this week. Scratch panicked too much over the idea of forgetting Molly as a human and sought out help to ensure that wouldn’t happen. Someone is able to help him out, but they point out that Molly failed to recognize his human self and ignored him just like everyone else did, so they want to test her.

Scratch can return to life and be able to remember Molly for one month, but Molly (and everyone else) has to forget that she learned his real identity, and if she can successfully be friends with him as his true self–flaws and all–then Scratch can keep his memories as a ghost. And yeah, something would be done regarding his voice, because that would be the huge giveaway. (I wouldn’t have him lose his voice, but something needs to be done so that it’s not quickly recognized).

The thing is…. It’s a neat idea, but I feel like it would be tricky to execute if I’m not careful. Plus it would be my third ‘what if’/fix-it-fic and I don’t want to write a bunch of those just for TGAMM.

Sorry if I ask a lot of questions. I just love to see other people doing werewolf stuff with TGAMM. Anyhoosies, what was Ollie and Libby's reaction like when they saw Molly as a werewolf?

No it’s ok. I don’t mind answering questions about this au. I admit I’ve never thought too hard about this before.

I imagine Libby might have seen Molly’s werewolf form from a distance once (like a silhouette, but not anything that would give away her identity). Then the next day she talked to Molly about what she saw–she heard rumors of a werewolf in Brighton for a few years, but the werewolf looked to small and too energetic and out in the open to be the actual werewolf (who is Scratch/Todd).

You end up with this version of ‘Scratch the Surface’ except Molly’s putting herself at a greater risk. And Scratch is even more annoyed/scared at the whole thing because his own life is in danger if more people know, and he makes it clear to Molly that he does not want to be responsible for another werewolf kid OR an accidental death if things went wrong. Plus he has to point out that Molly still isn’t fully in control of herself.

So one night, Molly finally couldn’t resist anymore, told Libby not to freak out, and transformed in front of her. Libby of course fainted and when she wakes up she has to see Molly biting down on a stick and trying to chase her tail as some weird way to burn off energy and to control her urges. Fortunately, Molly is able to keep control in this case.

As for Ollie, it was like ‘I want to dance with some Ollie.’ There was a Halloween-themed school dance in October that coincided with the full moon and he opted to go instead of go looking for the rumored Brighton Werewolf. Molly went under the excuse that she could look as if she was in makeup. So for a while at the dance, Molly was happily being herself and let everyone assume she was just wearing a cool costume, which also impressed Ollie.

However Scratch found out and he’s not so keen on Molly risking her own safety once again (never mind what those teen hormones can do to a young werewolf). So…. He breaks into the school gym with the full knowledge that people will also assume he is in costume. He manages to get her attention, but not before getting weird looks and staff members who are about ready to kick him out or call the police. Molly has to make up a lie that he is a family friend and then go after him to avoid complicating things.

Ollie followed the two outside the school and saw them argue and reveal the truth, but he was under the misunderstanding that Molly was somehow enslaved to Scratch. He didn’t say anything and tried to form a plan to save her. Thankfully this misunderstanding would be cleared when he’d confront Scratch, though THAT is another story for another time… or another ask, if you are curious.

One detail I love in TGAMM’s ‘The End’ is when you can notice Scratch visibly remembering his true identity and past life.

You have the moment where he finds out what really unlocked the new memories and hears his true name

Then you have the moment where he hears Molly say his true name and starts thinking. (Or perhaps he does remember before that point and Molly saying his real name causes some discomfort for another reason, like she’s about to find out about the kind of person he really was).

As Molly tries to deny any connection, and describes Todd as just another random person, you see him start to remember… and you can tell they aren’t happy memories… (Or alternatively, he's being forced to hear Molly describe his true self and is a bit hurt by it)

And then Scratch–with all his painful memories intact–now knows who he really is. He is once again Todd Mortenson–the man who was so afraid of dying and taking chances that he never truly lived his life.

Me: Seeing that one of the Disney chibi episodes revealed the calamity girls powered up forms-which I’m guessing was originally a spoiler for a bit- from Amphibia makes me look at Chibi!Scratch and wonder…. I think there’d be a funny opportunity to reveal a chibi version of his human form if the shorts are ok with showing off a few spoilers from other shows. We are long past the ending of TGAMM and that should be ok now.

Also me: If Scratch somehow turns human at any point in the chibi shorts, I will be amused. If it’s obvious that he keeps his memories (and gets a happier interaction with Molly), I will be very happy. If him turning human is the result of a character messing with magic or science, AND Scratch keeps his memories, I will give that character my full respect and appreciation, even if they are obnoxious or a villain.

Quick question about the werewolf AU! Usually werewolf transformations are painful, and clearky Todd didn't want Molly to be stuck as a werewolf. So were their transformations painful or did they just...happen?

They would be a bit painful the first time around, but it fades to discomfort the more it happens, especially since the transformations tend to be quick. Plus the more wolf-like you are as a werewolf, the more painful it would be. (Example: feet and legs bending and altering to be more animalistic). And since I’ve drawn those two a specific way as werewolves, then the pain is minimal compared to… say… the werewolf responsible for biting Todd.

But yeah, Todd wouldn’t want Molly to go through that pain.

I started writing this chapter after I finished rewatching the entire series. I had rewatched the finale an hour or so before I began to type. I needed to be able to heal from something I had no control over–something that could have been different, had the story been mine to tell.
