hey, hello anon, you absolute fucking dear!! i hope you have the bestestest of birthdays - whatever exactly that means to you. hope you're able to spend it the way you want to / with people you hold dear, and that the next year of your life blesses you with luck and a shitton of headcanons (which you're more than welcomed to leave in my inbox at any time),

and as it so happens i come bearing a tiny present myself, BECAUSE i realised during our medieval ukrainian au jam session i have not mentioned a vyshyvanka - traditional ukrainian attire embroidered with patterns, differing in appearance from region to region, sometimes family specific - at any point, which, downright criminal. so, lemme present the addition of mickey asking one of the grandmothers in town to teach him how to do it. why doesn't he ask mandy? i'm not sure, i just need this image of mickey and an old lady who constantly bicker as a cover up to how fond they are of each other. him including family specific patterns / colours in a very subtle way and handing it to ian on his birthday? and also him trying to play it down like yeah, yeah, it's just so you don't have to wear those ugly hand me downs from ivan and arkadij, thanksokaybye!

my birthday has been nice! I have a huge exam coming up so I’ve been studying most of my day (pushed the birthday celebration until after my exam haha) but my sneaky sister managed to get my parents to by my the vegan dr martens I wanted so it’s a pretty successful birthday if you ask me 😏

In a Pacific Rim AU of The DCU,

Chris Kent and Jake Grayson are drift compatible via their tight friendship

Their jaeger would be called ‘Caeruleum Sokil”

(caeruleum is Latin for ‘blue’ while sokil is Ukrainian for ‘falcon’)

Said jaeger is a Mark 3, it’s headpiece while the pilots are held inside is shaped similarly to BK-3 military helmets, with a chassis based on in turn to the torso armor of Medieval knights, its centerpiece with it displays its nuclear reactor being shaped like the Diamond shaped shield on Chris’ canon Nightwing outfit. It’s color scheme is a combination of light and standard blues with some black and yellow highlights on the torso, the ‘ankles’ and the forearms

It’s main payload are twin plasma cluster missile canons on its shoulders, two detachable GD6 chain swords on each of its forearms, EMP generators within its palms if it’s hands it can use to shock a Kaiju and finally its ultimate weapon, ‘The Starbolt’ a gigantic green nuclear plasma discharge it fires from the palms of its hands via supercharging the EMP generators and overriding the safety locks on pilots’ request. Reason for said override request is that the Starbolt carries a high risk of some of its payload backfiring onto Sokil, potentially destroying the arms in the process. Otherwise the majority of Sokil’s combat prowess is via up close melee combat. A specialized unit within its legs allowing its to jump and even flip off the ground akin to a human sized acrobat.

Also as per Jaeger designs, Caeruleum Sokil has two escape pods, a system that allows excess coolant to be expelled from its systems, and is powered as one can tell by a nuclear reactor. Unlike G. Danger however, Sokil can’t self destruct; if it were destroyed or damaged, the nuclear reactor is safely ejected out of the body to a far off distance away from the battle zone, allowing it to be salvaged by the Pan Pacific Defense Corps.

As of the present day of the Human-Kaiju War, Chris and Jake have defeated at least 3 kaiju on their own, and at least 8 total.

The majority of their victories are Category 2 and 3.

i’m really bad at responding to comments, i always try to but i always forget to do it. if i don’t respond to your comment, don’t get me wrong, i do appreciate it so much, it always makes me feel better about my writing. love all of you so much <33

5. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?

uhh, i don’t really write a lot of stuff with super angsty endings, though i would say some of my stuff with more open endings could be considered angsty so I guess Internalized doesn’t have a very happy ending, it’s def open ended but it leaves room for some healing or really anything from my All You Wanna Do series

6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?

probably either Sick and Snippy or Without You but legit most of mine are just pure fluff 

7. Do you write crossovers? If so, what is the craziest one you’ve written?

i haven’t but i’ve always enjoy some of those 9-1-1 and Shameless crossovers

nope ! you’re all so nice !

never explicit, no. sometimes i do vague descriptions of it if it’s necessary for the story i.e. my All You Wanna Do series where ian has issues during sexual situations but no lol i could never write anything sexually explicit

nah, but i have had someone offer before but when i write a fic, its pretty much spontaneous if its not a serious one

probably either gallavich or esperastra (because my queer wlw heart cant be stopped)

14. What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?

oof, my pain (won’t be forever more) thing. it was suppose to be a royalty, medieval kind of au but i wrote it when i was just starting out writing so its like really bad and im not into writing long, multi-chapter kind of fics so i probably won’t ever actually finish (sorry if any one actually likes it </3 but i look back and cringe)

15. What are your writing strengths?

im not really sure but i think i would say probably more serious character studies, specifically ian (which is kind of funny cause when i was first starting out, i wrote more for mickey) 

16. What are your writing weaknesses?

i think i have a lot tbh, i think i struggle with long form, structured ideas which is why i prefer to write about feelings rather than plot, does that make sense? 

17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

i’ve done it a couple times with ukrainian but i really dont think i’ll do it a lot cause i dont think ive ever done it even close to perfectly

i really wanna write for trobed (troy barnes/abed nadir from community) but ive never been able to get the characters to sound right so i havent yet, im hoping to do it soon tho cause i have a lot of ideas for them

uhh, i hate like any kind of self promotion but i think my What We Deserve (and What We Don’t) and the apple are two of my better ones.

Okay so thanks to @stranger-ghoul (aka @vulpesfawkes) tagging this with #french baroque I saw this post (she has already changed the tags I guess but whatever, the Internet never forgets) and she tagged everyone willing to do it, and I am always a sucker for Internet exhibitionism in questionnaire form, so, here go 

20 random facts about me that nobody asked for.

1) My balance problems leave me unable to learn riding a bicycle.

2) My paternal grandparetns were an illiterate Ukrainian and a carpenter/sculptor who commited suicide (and possibly aflamed his house though I do not remember this story too clearly).

3) Also my father is not related to the guy he inherited his surname from [my grandmother had a flourishing social life and a lot of luck], and the conversations appearing from this lead suprisingly many people to the notion I’m adopted.

4) Sapphire is my favourite clothes colour.

5) I have a diploma in pipe organ, and am more or less (mostly less) able to play any key instrument you give me.

6) I haven’t come across anything I wouldn’t like eating, except olives. Olives stink.

7) I have been suicidal from the alarmingly young age of 8.

8) I have a scar on my forearm because I unknowingly let a random girl on a summer camp frostbite me with spray deodorant.

9)  I always cry while watching touching ad campaigns.

10) My workfields of choice at the age of three to ten were: actress, psychologist, maths teacher, astronaut and astronomer. I kinda regret I haven’t gone further with any of these.

11) I also wanted to be called Edith.

12) My mother used to read me 19th century poetry at bedtime.

13) I fell off the stairs multiple times, head first. The most severe injury was a broken ring finger.

14) Empress Catherine II used to be a huge role-model for me.

15) I have a very nice alto voice and a quick grasp of singing technique, but due to several perinatal complications affecting my anatomy I’d have to undergo several surgeries to possibly be able to pursue an operatic career. 

16) I am a Roman Catholic.

17) I wrote my first fanfic when I was 5. It was a medieval AU Dramione.

18) In (integrated) kindergarden I used to play with/take care of two lovely non-verbal autistic boys, both of whom really liked me. One was overall an ordinary playmate, you just had to put smal objects out of his hands or he’d try to eat them. The other though seemed constantly overstimulated (no suprise, we were a group of 20 children), and the only thing with a somewhat soothing effect was when I read or told him stories. I loved those two so much <3 

19) I’ve watched Miloš Formans Amadeus at least 28 times.

20) I look ridiculously well in hats, caps and headscarfs.

anon, dear, i hope you're doing good! i might be in the brain goo - still, bear with me on the being comprehensible part -, but a) you asked for headcanons and b) you're my favourite person to contemplate with, so you'll be my victim tonight-

so, i know you've said somewhere you're not a big fan of time pieces, BUT-

i've read a lot (like. A LOT.) of medieval-ish things the last couple days and spotify graced me with a shitton of ukrainian music today, and now all i can think about is this tradition they got in ukraine in july where they gather around a fire, take their loved ones by the hand, and if they stay locked while jumping over the fire they they'll have a long and happy relationship (bonus: you can do this with friends for health and good fortune, too). they have this other thing, too, where the unmarried women bind wildflowers to wreaths, then set them on a river or pond or whatever to see who'll get married soon (if your wreath flows without problems and moves a bit it's you), and their significant others try to guess which wreath is their girl's and they tryna fish it out-

and listen, listen, i KNOW it probably doesn't make much sense, and i have not thought this through 'till the end, but i need irish ian to somehow end up in ukraine and in the hands and care of mandy, who tries to teach him their ways and their language, because he's kind and sweet, too - and maybe she first hopes he's her wildcard out of her life until she gets to know he's gay? -, and somehow she gets mickey involved in her little social project and she tries very hard to make him be nice to ian, long story short, they all go to the festivities together, get a little drunk maybe and do their little traditions. while it's a rite for the women, i bet mandy'd force him to bind a wreath, still. and maybe she already knows there's something going on between him and her brother and she schemes some more to make mickey fish ian's out of the water, i don't know, my brain doesn't cooperate properly.

bonus lore- iirc they have this magic flower they set out to search at some point, too, as it's said to grant its finder some sort of power, so, just please, mickey and ian having an excuse to disappear in the woods for hours without anybody asking questions.

i only just now realised it's actually a full on au, but i'll send it over anyway, because it's juvenile and mostly lighthearted and i needed to bother someone with it. much love! thanksokaybye.

Like I enjoy some angst as much as the next person, but knowing they can't get married and will have to live partially in secret if not in the closet just... spoils it for me. Them just walking in the forest and talking for hours. Maybe they find a job for Ian that gets them to hang out and Mickey teaches him Ukrainian?
