I am tired of these Maylor theories that act like Taylor Swift wasn't completely in love with Joe at the beginning, that she did not have a great time with Tom Hiddleston, that she wasn't in love with Calvin at the start, or that she didn't long for Harry Styles for about two years and even said he would interrupt her wedding. I would bet that Taylor wasn't hoping for these men to be Matty. What it seems like is that Taylor imagined what it would be like to date Matty (why she would want to is beyond me), and then she got the opportunity to date him, but she didn't have the chance to get bored of him, so she will never have closure in that sense. I think this whole "Matty the one that got away" thing is very recent, as in the last year or so.

imo sure they had a fling in 2014 but taylor was definitely in love with joe. she didn’t write reputation and lover for nothing! what actually happened is that joe didn’t fulfill her wish of getting married so she started resenting him. when jack reconnected taylor and matty in 2022, their relationship was already struggling and she opened up to matty about her insecurities about these things. so matty exploited her confessions and started love bombing her and promised all the things that joe wasn’t fulfilling (eg marriage and kids) so taylor being the loser she is, left her stable relationship for matty. he love bombed her all the way through and then suddenly dropped her out of nowhere (very much deserved) and ghosted her. also i'm not blaming this solely on matty either because taylor was also pleasuring herself while thinking about him, hence calling it a mutual phase of self destruction. all this to say taylor isn’t the victim she and her fans think she is! she made her own decisions, and now she's regretting them.

ps. she was still writing songs about joe while being with matty, she was so bothered that she arranged pap walks for her friends to publicly unfollow him one by one. she released you’re losing me. she was still crying during champagne problems. so that relationship wasn’t as deep as maylors are portraying it to be. as per her own words she took a temporary move on drug and is now dealing with the consequences

Matty Healy's parents are actors Tim Healy and Denise Welch, overseas 1D fans may know his mum from this Loose Women interview with 1D. His parents had a messy public divorce covered in Tabloids.

1999 - When his mum was featured on This is Your Life, in this clip, 10 year old Matty said he wanted to be "a popstar and top class musician" with his mum looking tense.

2002 - the 1975 was formed with school friends in Manchester, it will be 10 years before they have success.

2009 - 1975 met and was unsigned by every major label. Their manager formed an independent label and signed them for £20.

2010 - One Direction is formed on X-Factor with Harry, 5 years younger also from Cheshire, 30 minutes drive from Mattys hometown of Wilmslow, both near Manchester. 1D becomes a national sensation and sign a £1m record deal with a major label.

2011 - One Direction continues to grow with the X-Factor tour, records Up All Night and starts their own tour.

2012 - What Makes You Beautiful is #1 in 16 countries including the UK and US. Harry starts dating Taylor Swift and the world loses it's mind over them and the band.

2013, February - 1975 get their first top 20 song, Chocolate that reaches #19 (Teenage Kicks was on #6 in the same chart, on it's way down from #1).

2013, September 3 - Harry tweeted that he downloaded the self-titled 1975 album. Matty Healy told an interviewer that he went from 4k followers to 15k followers in 10 minutes. Matty said they became mates, he texted Harry to thank him. The 1975 covered What Makes You Beautiful:

2014, February - Taylor finishes 1989, Harry and Taylor start dating again and seem to for the rest of the year.

2014, March 20, fallout boy shares this photo of Matty Healy, fallout boy and 1d minus Harry to instagram captioned “London hangs.” I don’t know when the photo with Harry is from, the jacket is St Laurent 2014 and it first appeared on live journal June 2014. Harry wore the coat again in September.

2014, March - MH plays call or delete with Harry's BFF Nick Grimshaw and calls Niall and Harry, he says he has Niall’s number because he is writing a song for one direction and that he had never spoken to Harry before (but had his number and Harry recognised his voice and/or just would know Nick had the show on and who was on it.) 2014 - November 19 - Harry, Taylor & Selena go to a 1975 concert together. This is often cited as the Maylor starting point, Harry was there and called her boyfriend by Niall 2 days before. Taylor posts a video of her, Selena and Harry is briefly seen. Video of Taylor and MH backstage.

2014 - December 2 - Harry and Taylor at Victoria's Secret After party and leave together in London. First time Style performed.

2014 - December 4 - Taylor at a 1975 concert in NYC.

2014 - December 5 - 1D in London, appeared on Graham Norton. Rumours Taylor dating Matty, he tweets they got his name wrong.

2014 - December 6 - Taylor has laryngitis at Jingle Bell Ball. Matty Healy does this on stage in Boston, crying and yelling at the audience:

And that's the end of the 2014, interaction, between Matty appearing in the 1989 t-shirt and the meltdown was 1 month, and Harry and Taylor were seen together in that time. Taylor did go to one 1975 concert without Harry, 2 days before Matty melted down.

2016, March to Q Magazine, (and widely reported) Matty said:

“I feel like I’m not very good at relationships,” he’d said, and I wondered why. Healy explained the jumble of reasons – insecurity, self-obsession, a fear of misrepresentation. Was it also, I asked, a fear of losing himself? He nodded. “Absolutely. And the reason I mention that is because if I had [properly] gone out with Taylor Swift the first thing I would’ve [thought was] ‘Fucking hell I am NOT being Taylor Swift’s boyfriend.’ You know, FUCK. I'm skipping ahead a few years, Matty brings Taylor and Harry up alot, like in random interviews with Zane Lowe, Nick Grimshaw etc. But the vibe is often separating him from success. I wonder if he is also reminding others he knows them.

2022 he works with Jack Antonoff. There are rumours of a collab which Matty both says it is fake news he worked on Midnights and then that he did but it wasn't used. Taylor never acknowledged.

2022 - midnights comes out, no 1975 collab.

2023 - 12 January - Taylor performs anti-hero and The City at 1975 concert, multiple rumors Harry was also there: x, x, x

“Good?” murmured Brian.

“Hell, yes!” said Roger incredulously, his breathing uneven, eyeing Brian as though he were seeing him for the first time: Who are you and what have you done to Brian May?

Brian was glad to see the panic fade in those dark blue depths, to be replaced by astonished, reluctant pleasure. Gone was the fright and uncertainty— so unlike Roger to begin with— as Brian felt him give in, opening himself further to Brian’s ministrations.

“You should know by now I’m quite a serious student,” said Brian softly, reveling in the way Roger had to bite into his fist to hold back a cry. “Is there any doubt that we'd get to this point? You did set me down this path yourself.”

Red Tour. The timeline fight. You’ve mentioned it before. I’m not a Maylor but I have read and… okay I may have made fun of your account before. After the vault songs… I’m raising my eyebrows a little bit at the timeline. What do you know about the Red Tour?

That tour is coming up a lot lately lol.

I can understand why.

The biggest argument right now is mainly how Taylor and Matty met. Celebrities will often fudge things to fit a narrative given to them by PR when there’s rumours going around or if they want to sell an image etc. So the timeline of Matty and Jack is questioned a lot. There’s a picture out there of Matty and the guys back stage at a fun. show…. The theory is that it isn’t more widely spread because they weren’t the 1975 at that time. They were still performing under DLID.

Now - I personally cannot comment an exact time Matty and Taylor met. No one knows for sure. But keep in mind that Taylor has dated people like Matthew Grey Gubler and the lead singer of Boys Like Girls and kept those under wraps. And we know she can be very private when she wants. She kept Joe secret for almost 6 months. It wasn’t until the songs came out that we were really able to put together somewhat of a timeline. So none of this is hard to believe with Taylor.

That aside, you have to look at context of what people say. It’s known that the 1975 was asked to open for both Taylor Swift & Rihanna in 2013. What is interesting about it is the interview where the band talks about it.

Matty says plainly: “Taylor Swift offered us to go on tour.” And when you study the body language of Matty and George in said interview it’s quite cute.

Then when discussing Rihanna….

Matty said “Then Rihanna…” and George quickly replied with “Rihanna doesn’t know who we are.” And Matty immediately repeated that saying “she doesn’t know who we are. Though she definitely didn’t offer us that tour but we got offered that Rihanna tour…” again. Body language.

The way it was worded was also very telling. Taylor is very well known for getting to know her potential opening acts before a tour. The way that Matty and George interact on the Taylor one suggests that they did know her on a personal level to some extent while the Rihanna conversation they made it clear that Rihanna didn’t know who they are and that SHE didn’t personally offer it - her people did. It’s all comprehension. For a fan like me who’s been around since 2006, I knew about Taylor and the 1975 a LONG LONG time ago. Even before “kissgate”.

So in my opinion, the band got a personal offer from Taylor herself. I’d also like to point out that Matty played “fallingforyou” for Taylor at the LA Show (“Kiss Gate”) and I love Matty and I believe he’s a hopeless romantic but I don’t think he would’ve played a song like that the very first time he met someone. Like be for real people…

Do I think there’s songs on 1989 TV that could be about him? Yes. I do. Or at the very least, also inspired by him. Any one song can be inspired by more than one person… and there’s a lot of Easter eggs out there… new ones at that which connect Matty to Taylor and those songs but I won’t get into that.

Don’t ask. I don’t know if I will openly share those Easter eggs.

Honestly - fans will deny Matty until the cows come home in sweaters. The Easter Eggs that these same fans obsess over are right there for them but they don’t want to see it so they pretend it’s not a thing. Send me hate for that comment I get it. But it’s true.

I’ll just say comprehension is key and leave it at that.

Maylors being in their feelings is not the same thing as them actually believing Matty and Taylor are currently couple. I wish those who come here to complain about random shippy tweets would get that. Everyone knows they aren't a couple. My husband has that same Beatles shirt for heaven's sake. Some people just don't like reminders that Matty and Taylor exist in the same universe, have a lot in common and have dealt with each other on professional, friendship and romantic fronts, even if they aren't dealing with each other now.

If you want to pretend none of that ever happened, you're going to have trouble because here's the thing: they are the same age, they have been influenced by much of the same music, they run in the same circles, they are similar artists, their music is compared often by people in the music industry, they both have history of being chronically online (in different ways)--the things they have in common will occasionally manifest in insignificant ways like them wearing a shirt of a band they both like. Whenever that happens, their mutual fans will get excited. If that's upsetting, the block button is for you, but you can't expect other people to stop posting what they want.

In the usual fashion, Brian doesn't understand why he's always caught into Roger’s gravitational pull, Roger thinks that's just the way friendship is sometimes…. But as marriages fail, the band faces breaking up, and Freddie's health is waning, the only certainty is their importance to each other.

He continued when Brian fell silent, unable to look away, “I deserve some punishment, don’t I? For all these years I’ve hurt you.”

“Don’t be ridiculous,” said Brian shortly, his voice gone slightly hoarse. As always, when dealing with Roger, arousal warred with a deep-seated, almost instinctual wariness. This could very well be a trick, Brian was sure. Or a trap. “I’m still angry, you know. If you think you can talk your way out of reading my journal without my permission--”

“You promised,” whispered Roger, eyes darkening as he continued to look up at Brian, and suddenly Brian was not so sure of anything, after all,  “when the time comes, to make my atonement long and difficult. You shall delight in not bestowing pardon easily. Wasn’t that what you said in your journal?”

Get up, Brian would have wanted to admonish him, yet the words were trapped in his throat as his mouth fell open at the touch of Roger’s hand, cupping over his clothed flesh that throbbed and ached. His hand, far from pushing Roger away, merely found its way to the back of Roger’s head, taking a fistful of that long, golden hair, urging him on as Roger leaned in towards him.
