An ending to the prodigum saga, but PLEASE READ ,the ending is going to start us on the most interesting arc yet!

Dr Krill dropped his hands standing over where the prodigum lay sprawled on the floor twitching and writhing like the maggot it was. Ktill was very much done. He had been panicking and searching for the commander and Sunny for more than a week. More than a week of worrying and assuming that the worst might have happened. Luckily for everyone involved he had actually been close by when Sunny sent out her distress signal.

He had managed to follow them as far as the correct system with Conn’s mind reading abilities.

But now he was done, he may not have intended it, but he had been captaining a human ship for a week. He tried not to think about how he had partially taken over form the lieutenant, but that was all in the past now.

He could be done with commanding and field work. Krill hated field work, he hated action, and he most certainly hated how much the commander dragged him into this mess.

He turned around watching as the rest of the room was subdued.

“Get a GA cleanup team out her I have a feeling this cleanup is going to be bigger than we intended.” The little doctor announced.” Cannon raised his brightly colored head and went to work as krill had commanded hauling prone bodies from the floor and passing them off to the marines who escorted them over to the far wall.

The massive prodigum stirred, but Krill was having none of that and pressed his button again.

The large ugly mound twitched and writhed.

Overhead he heard cheering, and turned to see the commander’s hands sticking through the bars of his cage, “Straight savage dr. Great work! Now can you get me down? Can you get us down.”

Krill turned his head surprised to find other humans peering out from their cages with expressions of great relief. They looked sickly,emaciated, and certainly undernourished. With that in mind, he gave the go ahead to one of the others to start lowering the cages. The captain came first while the others followed.

Dr. Katie turned to her other two patients while krill walked over to the captain’s cage. He glowered at him.

“You gonna get me out of here or what?” “Or what.” Krill snarled, crossing his arms, “Do you know I have been keeping a tally of all the times you have been captured kidnapped or otherwise used against your will.”

The commander went to open his mouth but Krill shushed him, “There was that time in a rundi prison, there was that fiasco with general cosma, there was that time in the Turma Prison, there was that time with the starborn, there was that tie with the Kong, there was that time you were almost court martialed, quarantined on the Gromm homeworld. Honestly commander, I am sick-of-your-shit!”

The man still looked bemused, “Got out of all of those, didn’t I.”

“And one of these days you might not.” Krill snarled as the door was open and the commander stepped out. He looked fine all things be told though his cheeks were slightly sunken and there were signs of some serious dehydration. Off to the side of the room, Dr. Katie was busy working on the other patients.

“Get me some water and IVs for the two over there. Get tem a little something to eat too but not too much I dont want any sort of re-feeding issue.” He turned back to look at the commander staring him in the eye while he continued to give orders, “Someone bring me my medical bag.”

Maverick made her way from the other side of the room to hand him his kit and he thanked her, waving her off to go do other things as he had the commander sit down. Looking him over he appeared fine though he had a healing head wound and some greenish yellow bruising on his face.

Other than being a little hungry he didn’t have any complaints to make.

THe conditions of the cage were not particularly sanitary, so kirill was pretty worried about that. The reddish contact rash on his legs and upper back proved that his body tended to agree with krill. He was honestly very glad he didn’t have any sort of sense of smell.

“Lift up your shirt.”

The man seemed a bit confused but did as told.

Krill reached into his bag and came out with a medium sized silver device with a trigger and spring attached to a long metal cylinder. He opened up the cartridge at the back and loaded his pre made cylinder. The captain watched him with some interest, “This some kind of tetanus shot or something?”

“No.” Krill said bringing the device up and pressing it against the man’s side just over the rib-cage.

“Than what-”

He depressed the trigger.

The man flinched violently yelped and staggered backwards as a sharp snap filled the room.

“Mother fuck! What the hell!” The human turned to look at Krill who was already waiting with a bandage.

“Krill what the hell.” He growled through gritted teeth leaning over and holding his side, “That hurt like a son of a bitch, what even was that?”

“It is a tracking device.” krill announced with no shame what so ever.

“You just lowjacked me!”

Commander Vir looked incredulous for someone who knew krill well enough to totally be able to guess that this was going to happen.

“Of course I did! Every other day you are getting kidnapped by someone new, and now.” He smiled to himself, “I have just fitted you with the universe’s best tracking module. It is impossible to get rid of, unless someone wants to remove your rib cage that is.”

“You seriously just lowjacked me!”

“Why does this surprise you?”

“You just saughtered a tracking device to my rib-cage!”

“I am known to be over dramatic, and over excessive, your point is.”

The door at the far end of the room slid open, and Sunny and Ramirez came running into the room.

The commander was about to greet them when they pulled to a stop both panting, wide eyed and wild.

“Sir, sir you have to come see this. I... it’s urgent.”

Looking a little confused, both the commander and the Vrul followed, unwilling to let the human alone just yet.

Commander Vir motioned Cannon and a few others to follow with a finger, and the group of them moved out into the hall.

“We had a team doing a search of the premises.” Ramriez began

“And we found something.” Sunny finished

“Well don’t leave me suspended in curiosity. What did you find!”

“Just down here, sir.”

They turned the corner just then and stepped down onto a set of stairs leading down into the darkness. The stairs were wide but strangely short, probably for the use of the prodigum. Everything around was oddly dark though he could hear the sound of pulsing and throbbing generators.

They stepped down another group of stairs to where a crew member was waiting for them. His face was pallid and drawn, his eyes wide with the realization of what he had just seen.

Krill was worried.

He didn’t like it when humans looked like that.

It generally meant that something was wrong.

The doors before them opened as the Commander stepped up, and they stepped inside.

What they found was an absolutely massive warehouse. At first--because it was the prodigum-- he assumed they were going to find racks and racks of bodies decomposing for the prodigum to feed upon, but what they found…. Well it was much much worse.

This warehouse was at least a human football field in size, and down it’s length there were ten rows of massive glass tubes one after the other. Wires dangled from equipment and piping protruded from the ceiling. Blue green fluid glowed in each tank which bubbled and churned.

Lights blinked from control panels.

A group of aliens were being held against one wall on their knees hands up inside their protective gear.

“Mo-ther-fuck!’ The Commander said quietly

Krill dropped his medical bag to the floor.

Together they ventured forward coming up to the closest glass tube where the thing squirmed and curled inside.

“What the hell is that?”

Krill had no idea, and he was a doctor. At first he might have assumed that this was one of the prodigum’s offspring with all its floppy folds and its too long arms, but the more he looked the more he saw and the more he didn’t like. It had hair where the prodigum usually had tentacles, and fingers where it had had spikes.

When it whirled and turned Krill stepped back in horror as one distinctly human eye rolled back and forth in a lumpy socket.

The commander had a hand over his mouth, “the horror in his eyes was unparalleled by anything krill had ever seen.

“What the hell!”

They turned together on the spot staring down the row of glass tubes.

Just next to them, the pulsing embryos twitched and churned.

At the doorway someone gasped. Another turned from the room hands over their mouths.

Commander Vir turned his head in a slow circle eyes coming to rest on the far wall where a tarp had been thrown hastily over another line either of tubes or something else.

He slowly approached and krill went with him.

Sunny was at their backs.

Ramirez was looking away

They could hear sounds now, tortured gurgling noises. The Commander’s face was screwed up in disgust as he reached out a hand and tugged on the tarp.

It fell away with a flourish.

Maverick cursed violently.

Ramirez turned all the way away hands covering his mouth

Sunny froze in her spot.

Krill was speechless

And inside the commander’s head he was sure he had seen an error 404 before his entire body rebelled.

The thing began to squall and cry, its tortured gasping filling the air with gurgels, similar to human but warped by the prodigum breathing tubes on the side of its flabby neck. They opened and closed with a sort of wet squelching as the thing screamed. A pile of flesh, just folds and folds with the occasional hair sprouting from unknown locations.

It was monstrous

Hideous

An absolute abomination.

And the only thing that kept it alive was the machine strapped to it.

Kril watched the Commander’s face go red, and then green and then white. He looked as if he was going to throw up as the thing screamed even louder.

When it was too much for any of them the commander reached through the bars with a shaking hand and ripped the machine’s plug from the wall.

What the commander did was a mercy.

He would later feel guilty about what he did, but what he couldn’t have known is the pain that poor wretched monster had been in, how its mind could not think only consumed by pain it could not stop and thirst it could not quench.

It died gasping and gurgling.

But at least now it was at peace.

The commander staggered away from the wall gasping. His eyes welled with tears as he stared at his hands. But no one questioned his actions.

“What the hell> ‘Someone whispered

the young avengers (no not those ones)

the war starts when steve is 13.

all of his classmates want to enlist, want the glory of winning and protecting their nation.

steve only wants to stay home. to protect his mother from the man she married

when steve is 15, his mother dies of tb. he no longer has a reason to stay in new york, and he crumbles under the pain of it

he turns 16 and he enlists, forging the papers with the help of a kind german doctor

he stands out in training, from the angles in his still growing body, the vague irish lilt in his voice

however, what sets him apart the most is his commitment, his guts

he recieves the super soldier serum and a year later, nosedives into the arctic

he wakes up in new york 70 years later in the custody of shield

across the country, jane foster fresh off the high of earning her learners permit, hits a man with her dad’s truck

well, not a man. a boy

he looks like he couldn’t be older than 17 and he keeps mumbling about trolls, a magical hammer, and a rainbow bridge

the doctors determine he must have brain damage and leave it at that

the boy apparently has no family in new mexico and whatever family he did have hated him (because seriously, jane thought, who names their kid thor)

her dad, hardworking and compassionate if not a bit over ambitious, offers to take him in until they can get him registered in the system

it turns out they don’t have to, because three days later, thor fights a giant evil robot in the middle of the town, picks up a hammer from norse legend, and is carted off by some government agency

bruce banner is 16 going on 17 and interning under thadeus ross at culver university.

ross is obsessed with replicating the serum that created captain america, and bruce is obsessed with getting a full ride (and an internship with a general at a nationally acclaimed university was certainly going to help) so he plays along

the exposure to gamma radiation morphs something in his dna

in class the next day, some meathead, robert he thinks, is pestering him, calling him names just like always. bruce is used to it by now, but then he mentions bruce’s mom and something in him snaps

he wakes up in an alleyway, clothes shredded to hell and no memory of what had happened.

the newspapers are all talking about the same thing. a monster, loose in virginia. witnesses claim they had seen their classmate, bruce banner turn into a hulking green beast. he had beaten a student, robert maverick and fled. police are offering a reward to anyone with knowledge of his whereabouts

bruce doesnt know how to fix this, so he heads home, packs a suitcase, and runs

he ends up at his uncle’s apartment, a small brownstone in new york

after a little convincing from his daughter, mr.walters agrees to hide bruce for a short time, just until they can figure out what happened

but they never get the chance

the next day, government agents dressed in gray and black uniforms break down the door and cart bruce away to some facility. he doesn’t know what will happen to him, and more than ever before, he is scared

tony graduated college when he was 15. he had a fully stocked lab, an invite to every party in town, and more money than he could ever spend. all thanks to his father.

no matter what he does, everyone; magazines, documentaries, newspapers, only seem to care about howard. he can’t seem to escape the man’s shadow, and he resents him for it.

so he rebels. he goes clubbing, he brings home girls, he bought expensive cars, but nothing seemed to work

until the day he was kidnapped.

the kidnappers saw how smart he was, and they wanted it.

they threw his father’s tech at him, told him to start developing a new missile. instead, he designed a suit. his fellow captive a professor, ho yinsen helped him, and together they built the scrapper. it was barely a prototype, but it was the best shot they had

professor ho had shoved him towards the suit, told him to run and headed toward the guards.

he was plucked out of the deaert by an unmarked government helicopter and was met by two agents

“are you interested in helping us? we could use that tech of yours.”

and for the first time, tony felt seen

clint pulled on his blindfold and gripped his bow, finding the worn in finger rests. he pulled an arrow from the quiver and slid it into place. he took a deep breath, aimed the shot, and released. the raucous applause surrounding him told him he had hit his mark, just like always.

the show continued and he trudged outside, opening his small (very small) trailer. he let himself flop onto the bed, face first. his aids buzzed and crackled with the impact and he rolled over, staring up at the ceiling. before he could get comfortable, there was a knock at his door.

he sighed dramatically, rolled out of bed and opened it.

standing in the rain was a steely eyed woman, dressed in a black bodysuit.

“clint barton? i saw your... performance tonight”

he raised an eyebrow “okaaaay?”

“how old are you?”

“19” the lie slipped off his tongue easily. if there was a chance of getting out of this place, he knew it wouldn’t come to a 15 year old.

“would you let me in? i’d like to tell you about something called shield”

natasha had been raised in the red room. the barbed fences, concrete walls, and armed guards were all she had ever known. every morning they trained her and the other girls. she worked, strived to be the best. she had stopped hoping for an escape and started hoping for a mission. but she knew hoping would get her nowhere, so instead she fought. she wanted to prove herself. to grab attention and not let it go.

when she turned 15, she was given her first mission. she was to kill her target, a man by the name of clint barton. he was an assasin. a good one.

he worked for shield, a top secret agency run by and for the us government.

it was easy enough to find him. he had perched on top of a building

she wasn’t sure what she had been expecting with the guy, but it wasn’t this. he looked... young. not much older than her. there was no way his file had the truth about him.

she had been made to fight. trained to kill. but with this boy. she couldn’t. they were too alike.

she stepped out of the shadows, and his bow instantly trained on her.

but he didn’t shoot. she could tell he felt it too. he lowered his weapon and stepped forward, cautious but open.

“do you need help?”

“yes”

she didn’t know why she said it, but the word tumbled out before she could think

he brought her inside, taking an elevator down to the underground offices and facilities. he pointed her down the hall, telling her to look for a man named nick fury

when she reached his office, she found him waiting for her. he held a gun in one hand and a file in the other. she cursed herself. cursed herself for trusting that boy

“i suppose you’re going to shoot me now?” she held herself in a tight stance, ready for a fight. it had been a setup. of course. she hadn’t wanted this. it seemed childish to even think, but it wasn’t fair. it wasn’t fair that she should die for the red room. die before she even got to live

“that’s your choice” he said. he looked her up and down and she could tell he saw the unnatural thinness, the not yet faded bruises

“what’s that supposed to mean?”

“well ms romanoff, would you like to save the world?”

the first real threat came in the form of a god’s temper tantrum

thor’s younger brother (who looked like a middle schooler) who he insisted wasn’t really evil,

“you don’t understand he’s just going through a phase!” he yelled as he flew between buildings, wind whipping his hair.

“it isn’t a phase, brother!” loki had shouted back

when the battle was over, odin arrived, patting the boy on the back and turned to fury

“he just wants a little attention, i assure you this won’t happen again”

fury had nodded and, when odin had left, taken out a flask.

“so, what now?” everyone turned to clint.

“how about some food?” bruce suggested

“ah, a fantastic idea, we have fought well and a feast of victory is well deserved!”

natasha gave a sharp nod, looking through the rubble for a restaurant that was still standing, much less open.

in the end they found a shwarma place that was willing to open up and serve the heroes with a discount.

soon enough however, some agents came to collect them, and in the quinjet they were briefed on their next mission. high school.

(i can write more of this if anyone wants. ive got more ideas but i wanna just post this. my inbox is open, so if you want anything specific for this universe or something else, go there! i also fudged some of the backstories a bit, threw in what i knew from comics, and changed some dates, but i think i stuck pretty well to canon)

Andre Drummond’s hot start only raises more questions

Andre Drummond is having a career year for the Pistons.

The Pistons’ big man is having a career year. Can we trust it?

The NBA is littered with players who stifle their own talent. Plenty good enough to dominate their role, they misunderstand/outright reject who they are, and how they can best impact winning. Andre Drummond has been on this list for most of his career, but right now it’s worth wondering if he’s nearing off it.

Nine games into his eighth season, Drummond is averaging 22 points — a personal best by a significant margin — and has never been more efficient. He leads the league in minutes, and only Giannis Antetokounmpo has made more baskets. Drummond’s rebounding has always been comically dominant, but right now the gap between him and everybody else is over 50 boards. At 26 years old, he’s already the best rebounder of his generation, and it’s not particularly close.

All these stats are amazing, but it’s too early to call them a revelation, or use them to erase the myriad questions that still contaminate Drummond’s overall effect. Even if they sustain, there’s a harmful insecurity in Drummond’s game that has increasingly led him outside the lane any competitive team would prefer he stay in. The putbacks, one-dribble drop steps, and picks that peel defenders off teammates are all helpful.

But for every sign of progress — he’s shooting a career-best 67.3 percent from the free-throw line and the percentage of his possessions that end as a roll man are currently double what they’ve been over the past few years! — there lies a hideous push shot, unnecessary foul, or forced foray into a reminder that every player has their limit. Right now Drummond averages more seconds and dribbles per touch than every other center except Julius Randle — aka more than Joel Embiid, Nikola Jokic, Karl-Anthony Towns, and Anthony Davis. This should not be.

“Every year, [Drummond] is going to bring something new to the table,” Pistons head coach Dwane Casey recently told reporters. On its face that’s not a bad thing. But just because he wants to moonlight as a point guard and shoot threes doesn’t mean he should. Take whatever it is Drummond tried to do here — which was followed by a booming and hilarious HELL NO from the Wizards bench — as an example. Sequences like this have not been rare this season:

Not all of this is his fault. Drummond is compelled by a roster that’s been ravaged by injuries to several important pieces, including Blake Griffin, Derrick Rose, and Reggie Jackson. Last year, the Pistons fell apart on offense when Griffin played without Drummond; lineups featuring both were as efficient as the Milwaukee Bucks. Now, surrounded by Markieff Morris, Bruce Brown, and Tony Snell, opportune moments are unavoidable. It’s hard to get mad when he rumbles coast-to-coast for an and-one or pings a perfect bounce pass from the elbow. And there’s value in Drummond reminding defenses they aren’t facing Rudy Gobert:

Parsing productive growth from self-serving desire isn’t easy, though, especially in an NBA that’s trending towards generalists and away from niche skill-sets. Common sense would tell you that it’s beneficial to have Drummond explore different ways he can impact a game. But too much of what he does has the feel of a high-school student skipping their actual homework assignment to do extra credit.

When he sticks to what he’s great at, you can’t help but wonder how he’d do surrounded by players who fill in the areas he wants to occupy. Picture Drummond injected into a reality-check ecosystem that doesn’t let him test drive skills that belong in a garage. If he can ever self-simplify his responsibilities, opt to maximize what he already does well, and, you know, try harder, that’s a wrecking ball.

That expectation is a leap of faith against over 17,000 minutes of evidence; Drummond is -374 for his career. Context regardless, it’s OK to think he’ll never reach whatever ceiling many believed he had after his first couple seasons. At the same time, it’s also OK to believe the trajectory of his career will eventually tick up once he accepts who he is. That type of power is undeniably important.

Drummond sprints the floor when there’s a carrot at the end of a stick. He’ll outrun his man, seek contact for the seal, make himself a target, then finish strong at the rim. Hurray. Unfortunately, every compliment is accompanied by a catch. Beyond his impaired technical prowess, Drummond’s energy level fluctuates with infuriating regularity: It’s hard to embrace a defensive identity when your starting center refuses to sprint back in transition.

Drummond compounds the issue by spending a good chunk of his minutes in foul trouble, a habit that tampers down those fiery moments that are hard to forget. When active and committed, he’s a nightmare in the paint.

It’s all very tantalizing, and not seeing him play that way from possession to possession, let alone quarter to quarter or game to game is what makes Drummond such an exasperating figure. It also makes you wonder what he could do as the third wheel on a different team, one able to harness all his strengths the right way.

A trade feels highly unlikely anytime soon. Detroit’s owner, Tom Gores, loves Drummond. But when asked about the organization’s path one month ago, Gores also said “I think right now we feel really good about where we’re at. Obviously, we have to succeed and win, and judge by if we’re not winning. But right now we feel really good about it.”

The Pistons have tread water without Griffin, and if barely making/missing the playoffs is how they want their foreseeable future to go, they’ll sit tight with them both. But logic suggests a shakeup at some point. And if Drummond continues to produce at a rate unseen since Neil Armstrong walked on the moon, will Gores sell high?

Chances are it won’t matter. Drummond can exercise a $28.5 million player option and become a free agent this summer. It’s hard to imagine any playoff team 1) believing he can push them over the top, while 2) sacrificing enough assets to make a trade worth Detroit’s while.

For fun, though, there are a few teams that should poke around, pending their own need to shake things up/prepare for a lengthy playoff run. Drummond makes conceivable sense on every team in Texas. It’s way too early for any one of them to bend over backwards in a negotiation, but perhaps Detroit will listen if the Houston Rockets ever feel desperate enough to offer Clint Capela. The Pistons do it to receive a cheaper big under team control through 2023 who has extensive playoff experience and can either be flipped down the line or seen as part of their inevitable rebuild. Future picks, of which Houston barely has, would need to be involved, but Drummond is a much better player; if the Rockets want to go all-in (again), this sort of talent upgrade makes sense.

What if the San Antonio Spurs push Patty Mills, Rudy Gay, Lonnie Walker IV, and their 2020 first towards the middle of the table? Their spacing would be even more cramped but assuming Gregg Popovich can turn Drummond into the consistent center his talent suggests he can still be, that’s an intimidating frontline. If the Spurs like what they see and can keep Drummond motivated, they can phase into their next era with him and Dejounte Murray leading the way.

It’s hard to see the Dallas Mavericks interrupt their momentum for someone who probably wouldn’t close games, but just picture Luka Doncic running a stagger pick-and-roll with Drummond and Kristaps Porzingis. One pops and the other rolls. How do you guard that? (Sadly, the Mavs also don’t have much to offer beyond Dwight Powell, an expiring contract, and Jalen Brunson.)

There are other teams that would have theoretical interest — like the Los Angeles Clippers and Boston Celtics — but none are realistic enough to write about. If Drummond chooses to text the market this summer, would the Atlanta Hawks, Charlotte Hornets, or Cleveland Cavaliers bite?

What it all comes down to is situation, fit, and how dominant Drummond can still be if he’s willing to embrace a specific role. Despite his jaw-dropping numbers right now, it’s impossible to say he’s part of any short or long-term solution where he is. Including this year, Detroit’s defense is annually not good when he plays, and in eight seasons he’s only appeared in eight playoff games.

Something has to eventually break. Until it does, the Pistons will take the good with the bad, even though change feels like it’d do both sides a world of good.

ya basically this auto insurance agency asked sum ? in person and compared rates and the lowest price was some company was offering $49 monthly and $134 down .. i was trying to get 40 a month and shes like there is nothing i can do .. then i was asked how can i be sure that this will be the monthly fee and they wont charge more and she said there will be no hidden fees this is what they charge . we are ligitiment insurance agency ... but i dont know i feel like the down is probly profiting them big time and i feel like the monthly payments will some how be higher than 49 monthy and she is lying about hidden fees
