oohhhh tell me about the hovering bees pls

there's honestly nothing really to say for hovering bees. when i wrote my judas piece and poems written by the ghost that's haunting you a few years back i had an INSPO note on my phone of things I thought were interesting and might relate

and bees hovering never made it in either final piece but i still liked the idea of exploring the concept of guilt/grief through the image of someone hiding under a body of water slowly losing air while a swarm of bees wait for them above. so idk if it would be an entire piece of flash fiction from the pov of someone under water or just a metaphor ill use briefly in a larger piece but it's an idea im enamoured by and hope to use someday

Hi, Martin!

Adopted!Mouse is... exactly what it says on the tin, I guess. I've gotten a couple asks about it today, so I'll try to cover a little bit of a different aspect of it in each response. This one will lean toward the Gerwitzes' side of things (I know, we hate them, I'm sorry)

Do I know any of the details for this specific part of it yet? No. Will that stop me? Also no.

(warning for a mention of infertility in the next paragraph)

For reasons that I have not sorted out yet, Thelma can't have kids of her own. She didn't know this until after she was married, because she had no reason to suspect otherwise before she was trying to give Gregory an heir. And it's very much an image issue, from both of their perspectives - do they particularly want children to take care of and dote on? No. But their corner of society has told them that a family legacy is important. If there's no one to carry on the family name and money, they've failed. And failure isn't acceptable.

So they decide to (secretly) adopt. They can lie about the pregnancy as much as they need to, and the adoption can be completely closed so that none of it is available for public record. They'll just adopt a baby boy to carry on the family name, even give him the family name, raise Gregory Gerwitz IV, and balance will be restored. Their reputations are still intact, and they only really need one heir. Even the kid doesn't know he's adopted, because it's too much of a risk to tell him - what if he says something? Kids aren't exactly known for watching what they say.

And then he grows up, and he looks enough like them that no one suspects anything, because they have no reason to look too closely. Even when they disown him and cut him off and he's going by Mouse, no one looks close enough to see the truth. Not even him. Because why would he look so closely at the family that didn't even want him?

10 years later - after surviving an apocalypse and what could be considered death, healing as an act of rebirth - martin still pulls the bullshit "lonely hands" move 😶‍🌫️

[Start ID: Two drawings of Jon and Martin from The Magnus Archives in blue hues. Jon is a average sized Persian man with curly hair tied back into a messy bun and multiple scars. i dont blame u the politics of the show is fucking weird and like. just in general while it’s technically better than the 2009 movie. writing wise it’s also just…. rlly rlly shitty. so like please hate the show. also i dont mind u posting other stuff u seem cool overall 👍

im halfway through the movie and found it entertaining so far (tbf around halfway is when movies start to fall apart) the opening credits with bob dylan and those little flashbacks were really fun to watch (i giggled at the flower power one) but yeah overall i think no adaptation could make a better political message than the original, even if the original was apparently ambigious enough for people to find rr aspirational

She stepped inside slowly, watching where she walked to make sure there were no errant prints in the blood on the floor. A glance over her shoulder, just to make sure her partners were near enough if something went wrong, and then she made sure to stay quiet to match the air around them.
