I went to the eye doctor's yesterday and I, an adopted person, always feel like "oh no I'm failing the interaction" for some reason by not being able to relate. HOWEVER, I got praised for having common sense so it works out.

Artifact #0305: A colored sketch of former Queen of Ru’an Zianna Ro’Meave and her dearest friend and Lady in Waiting, turned guard, Marriane Colby; Artist unknown
Artifact Description:
A colored sketch of former Queen of Ru’an, Her Highness, Zianna Ro’Meave and her Lady in Waiting - turned guard, Marriane Colby sitting in the guard barracks of Old Phoenix Drop (presumably watching the former queen’s eldest son, Crown Prince and Divine Reincarnation Garroth Ro’Meave train). The former queen is wearing a simple dress in varying shades of green, accented by gold. She wears an emerald necklace, the matching diadem style crown rests on the floor next to the pair. She looks up at her close friend fondly as they talk, her head laying in the other woman’s lap. Marriane is wearing a simple skirt and blouse combo, held together by an exposed leather corset. There is a set of leather bracers on her arms, matching the corset. She too smiles as her friend talks to her.

Sense & Sensibility (2024), and My Issues with Race-Swap Casting
Mod Tallulah here.
So I recently watched the 2024 retelling of Sense & Sensibility starring Deborah Ayorinde and Bethany Antonia. While I do appreciate Hallmark for wanting to add diversity to its brand, I couldn’t help thinking about how this film and films like this contribute to my issues with race-swap castings. I break all of that down in this video.
