#manfred von karma is beyond saving

Something that @musashi's Ace Attorney video on Franziska Von Karma made me realize is all the parallels between her and Athena Cykes in Dual Destinies, beyond just being the most major character introduced in the middle part of their respective trilogies. Athena's connection to Blackquil is also pretty similar to Franziska's connection to Miles is, with both of the prosecutors going to learn from their parents and in that time becoming family with them. Both seem to at one point be out to avenge their dead parent but then in actuality have little love for that parent and instead want to help the person who was perceived as killing that family member. Both went off to "Europe" (America in the original Japanese version) to become attorneys at younger ages so that they could in part better help the prosecutor they saw as family. Both also are sidelined when it is their moment to prove themselves, taken out of the case by someone actively trying to manipulate the outcome of the trials. But in the end both do end up coming in and saving the day with the final decisive piece of evidence.
Some of this probably comes from Simon being intentionally written as similar to Edgeworth but perhaps there is more to it than that. It could be an attempt to show how Phoenix has stepped into the role of mentor. How he has learned from some past mistakes and learns to work with someone who needed help the way Franziska did. It could also show some of the tragedy of Athena's character. It shows that because of what's happened and the injustice of what had happened she has been stuck defining herself and her life goals by Simon. She is not able to really be her own person like how Franziska wasn't because of Miles and Manfred's shadow.

Okay so I was on the tv tropes page for this fucker right?
Tumblr media
And when scrolling the nightmare fuel page covering him, I had a thought.
What if people made false confessions because of him? Like, not because he manipulated the trial to make the defendant believe he did it, but they confessed because they knew they were screwed anyway.
Manfred von karma is perfect, edgeworth said so himself. This man has gone above and beyond just to get a guilty verdict, no matter if the defendant is actually guilty or not.
Knowing that, if he’s the prosecution, the trial is pretty much over before it begins.
So what if a defendant just confesses as soon as the officially trial begins, because Manfred is going to get them guilty anyway, they might as well skip that whole song and dance get the trial over with, and save their lawyer and themselves the trouble.
Or, confess before Manfred can drive the “truth” out of them, because it’s pretty much the only thing they can do to defy him. If they at least know about the rumors of Manfred setting up trials so that they go perfectly in his favor, the only way the defendant can defy him is make sure all that perfect planning goes to waste. As a sort of “better to die than be killed.” Sort of thing
If you’re going out, you might as well go out with a bang, or at least a middle finger.
It’s bittersweet to think, of a no name defendant, who’s brave enough to rather confess to a crime they didn’t commit and probably even be executed, than give Von karma the satisfaction of adding another well planned victory to his precious perfect prosecution record.

Hello!
While I never hated Godot you made me like him more!
If you don't mind what is your favorite thing about Godot
I'm so happy to hear that, anon. He's a good boy and if I have made anybody like him more then my dorky efforts have paid off. >:3
In general, I really like how hard they go with making him complex. Nothing about Godot is ever black and white. He's simultaneously noble and twisted, incredibly cool and incredibly lame, deeply tragic and deeply funny (is there another AA character who's so off-the-rails weird and laugh-out-loud funny while also being so intensely sad?)
But my favorite of those contrasts is that no matter how hard he pretends or how wrecked he is as a person, there is still good in him. He has a moral code leftover from his former self that he won't betray, no matter how bad he gets. As misguided and intensely mean as he is to Phoenix, he won't cheat in court and he won't get an innocent person sent to jail even to "stick it" to him (Godot literally just stops arguing his case once it's apparent they have the wrong person.) The coffee moment with Pearl and his interactions with Maya in 3-5 are indications that he still has a good heart under all the bluster. (Someone on my other post's notes described this as "he still has love to give" and that phrasing has stuck me in the brain like a splinter. It's haunting me.)
(3-5 spoilers beyond this point.)
Even his worst actions aren't straightforward. Godot takes somebody's life, but it's incredibly hard to call it a "murder." He was inarguably saving Maya's life in the process. The victim isn't straightforward either- he killed Misty Fey, but he also stopped Dahlia in the act of murdering Maya. And yes, as he admits, he did have a hand in setting up the circumstances around it, but so did Misty, and it's just UGGGH. SO TWISTY. And then he calls himself out for it! He recognizes his own failings and admits he was wrong! There's enough good left in him to realize how far he's fallen and how warped his actions have been. He ends the game on a note of cathartic acceptance and relief, and his ambiguous fate means we can freely think about where he might go and what he might do next. What kind of relationships he might have with other characters once he takes off the proverbial mask and lets them know the real Diego. EVEN MORE complexity on top of the delicious ice cream sundae of "I'm going to be thinking about this character forever" (ugh, that's a Godot-worthy dumb metaphor.)
If Godot was another heartless pure evil antagonist like Manfred von Karma or Matt Engarde, he wouldn't be nearly as interesting. If he had actually lost every shred of the good man he used to be, if there was no hope of redeeming him, or if he ever truly sank to the level of committing evil acts, I wouldn't care about him nearly as much. Godot is great because he's not a villain, he's an antagonist, one specifically designed as a foil/dark mirror to Phoenix, which is the kind of deep storytelling meta shit I absolutely eat up.
Also, he's hot. Hottest prosecutor in the series. Fight me, I'm right.

I Love
A Manfred Von Karma inspired poem:
I love a twin brother, brighter than the sun, who used blades of grass to sew up my loose ends, tying us together.
I love the birds who sang so sweetly to me, who shared their gift of song, which saved me from plummeting.
I loved a ghost with a smudged face who was the red of lit matches, blood, rage, love.
I love a revolutionary who tastes of citrus and copper, always soaking wet, teaching me to swim beyond the ocean.
I love a girl who commanded the whole entire world and wanted to share it with me for no reason.
I love a boy with a cut up face and hands, whose skin I couldn’t sew back together so I just bandaged.
I loved a man who kissed his son on the forehead.
I tried to love lady Karma, who I was borne from, who promised to come back for me and never did.

More Roleswap AU Part 2: Defense Attorney Miles’ Frustrating Friendship with Prosecutor Phoenix
Tumblr media
Continuing from how Prosecutor Phoenix’s dysfunctional way of caring with people that mattered to him affects them, the one with Miles took a post of its own.
So from what I’ve said from my other post, “Phoenix has a big heart but it's twisted from growing up from Manfred's emotional abuse of control and shame. So if Phoenix's heart is a house, the door is open but they're only allowed on the porch, looking in but blocked by Phoenix himself from ever getting inside. ”
So how does this affects Miles Edgeworth?
When child Phoenix Wright suddenly moved out without warning, young Miles and Gregory treated it as a case that needed to be investigated. They found out that Phoenix’s parent died. That Manfred von Karma, whom Gregory had called out his evidence tampering, adopted him (Gregory didn’t like this at all). That Manfred moved back to Germany with Phoenix (Gregory didn’t like this at all even more). Gregory could only hope and assure Miles that since Manfred has a daughter, Manfred had taken in Phoenix sincerely. Miles was not convinced.
Miles tried writing letters to the address that Gregory had gotten. There was no response but they knew the letters were being received. Gregory tried to write a letter to Manfred but was replied with a formal but kind of deranged “fuck around and find out and it’s none of your beeswax and you will one day get retribution for marring my perfect record” letter. Gregory kept that letter to himself in order not to worry Mile who was looking forward to them meeting again as there is a possibility that Phoenix would become a lawyer too.
If Defense Attorney Wright had ADHD with no friendship degradation mechanics, I headcanon that Miles has autism with attachment to his childhood friendship with Phoenix.
He had tried online means of communicating years later. Phoenix doesn’t bother with facebook. Miles sent an email and got a superficial response. When he replied to that to build into it, it was ignored.
It doesn’t help at all when they met again as prosecutor and defense attorney with Gregory having been murdered and having to defend the daughter of a family friend that he had only heard of.
Prosecutor Phoenix felt anything but peace when Miles broke his perfect record. Of course, it would be the smart kid who had defended him who would defeat him. His once perfect record was the only thing that Manfred von Karma couldn’t touch of him, now Miles took that away in his idealistic righteousness of saving people who don’t deserve (funnily enough, Phoenix included himself in that). It didn’t help that Miles’ righteousness rubbed him the wrong way with how Miles had looked at him with anger and sadness and disappointment because who was he to feel? They were in a courtroom. (See Closed Off Phoenix mode)
When Will Powers got arrested, Phoenix knew that Miles is a big fan of Steel Samurai. He was going to rip Miles a new one in court with this case by getting a guilty verdict on his favorite actor. Much to Miles and Maya’s surprise, he changed his mind, not knowing it’s because Gumshoe told what happened with Dee Vasquez. (In this universe, Gumshoe had told Phoenix because despite their dysfunctional “friendship”, Prosecutor Phoenix is more approachable than Prosecutor Edgeworth)
Prosecutor Phoenix is just as surprised as them with his actions and hated himself for it. He wasn’t supposed to feel. Unlike Prosecutor Edgeworth who told Defense Attorney Wright that he doesn’t want to see him again, Prosecutor Phoenix did what von Karma would do to him: give him nothing. Defense Attorney Edeworth caught Phoenix’s eye and all Phoenix did was raised a brow and turn his back on him, little did Phoenix know, that had hurt Miles.
All Miles had wanted since Phoenix went away was to get his friend back. Maybe he had idealized the way childhood Phoenix had connected with him since it never happened again with other people his age growing up. Maybe that childhood Phoenix was gone. Logically, the best course of action was to move on, but it kinda hurt whenever he sees him.
The dynamic changed when Miles successfully defended Phoenix from murder of both cases. Phoenix was now more willing to talk to him but kept it professional. Miles who had always been socially awkward doesn’t know how to bridge the gap as much as he wanted to and as much as Maya tried to encourage him. Miles had tried to talk to Phoenix about what he had gone through because of Manfred but Phoenix would often try to keep it light. Phoenix does the 3 D’s: dodge, distract, dismiss. Any pushing further would upset the delicate balance that Miles was not confident to test.
After the Skye case, Phoenix felt he had no leg to stand on anymore. He had thought von Karma may have taught him, but all the cases he had won was through his own effort. Now, that was no longer true. Who was he anymore without the things that he used to believe in? It started to get worse when the pain and anger and grief and the nightmares that demanded to be felt came crashing down. Who was he without the constant battle with Manfred in and outside of his head? How could he?! Why had Phoenix never saw it before? He had failed people for becoming who he was. Do they even deserve...?
Phoenix was no stranger to blowing off shame and judgment. Also he worked best under high stress. So he went into Younger Beanix mode and created another identity to buy his tickets out of the country. Then when he met Miles again, intentionally made a dick move to anger him for a long time so that when Miles would hear that Phoenix left to take a sabbatical, he wouldn’t give a shit. Not to mention, Phoenix thought he didn’t deserve Miles care and he didn’t want to burden Miles with the need to save him again and again. He also blocked Franziska’s number and gave Gumshoe the wrong details of when he would leave and where just to cover his tracks.
Miles eventually figured out when he disappeared that Phoenix had hurt him to prevent him from intervening. He was mad Phoenix at once he realized that and mad at himself for not realizing it sooner. And upset that he wasn’t enough.
The emotional betrayal traumatized Miles when he already struggle with connecting with other people, especially when it’s Phoenix that he wanted to re-connect with the most.
Miles Edgeworth had already closed his heart on Phoenix since then. He would’ve refused any communication with Phoenix if it wasn’t for the Engarde case. They had reached a degree of closure after but Phoenix wasn’t done with his sabbatical.
As far as Phoenix was concerned, he wasn’t equal yet to Miles in terms of searching for the truth in the courtroom. With the best intentions, he was chasing after Miles professionally in quality. But within their friendship, some damage has been done. Phoenix still has the struggle to allow Miles and himself to be vulnerable without the need to dismiss, distract and dodge. In fact, he owed Kay, Gumshoe, Sebastian and Franziska of it too. And while Miles has partially opened his door to Phoenix again, he has to learn and trust Miles again beyond their professional partnership.
What About Trucy Gramarye?
Fortunately, Prosecutor Phoenix was in a better place by the time Trucy came around. When he was back in Japanifornia after Zak left Trucy, Phoenix sees a kid greeting him with a showman’s bravado in the face of abandonment and in the mercy strange adults. He cannot not adopt her and get her away from the mess.

Tumblr media
Dear Anonymous,
Tumblr media
The mods had to extend giving this letter to me later, because something I DIDN’T know was the black psyche-locks and what they meant. Something about not breaking canon, whatever that means.
Tumblr media
Anyways, I never said either Kristoph or Gant ever had any intention to kill out of evil. For all I know, Gant could’ve killed Neil Marshal, because he mistaken the man for Joe Darke. I did mention that I’d give credit to Gant for coming clean when he did. Just because Kristoph Gavin was tormented or is mentally insane, it doesn’t excuse his actions or earn my pity. His torment would likely have been avoided, had he confessed what he did and was arrested. I believe something similar could be said about Manfred von Karma, yet I don’t see as many people giving pity towards that man as I do with Kristoph. I guess good looks give you pity points.
Tumblr media
I was not on a crusade for revenge. Am I Godot now? I lost my job and faith in regaining back what I once lost. It was my friends that kept pushing me to continue. All I wanted was to raise Trucy and put food on the table. I was in a very dark place. You mention about Kristoph Gavin taking me to dinner being heroic, but did he encourage me to get back on my feet? No. Did he help care for Trucy? No. But hey, he went out of his way to have me appear in seminars at legal academies and help in some legal cases overseas, so I didn’t waste myself. Oh wait, that was Edgeworth, who also takes me out to dinner, along with Maya, Trucy, and Pearls. At least he admitted he only defended my innocence years ago to cover his butt before paying back to the person he stole from. Oh wait, that was Larry, another real friend of mine who takes me out to dinner. At least, when he betrayed me, he was genuine enough to apologize and admit his real intentions. Oh wait, that was also Edgeworth and Iris - again took me out to dinner many times in college. What did Kristoph do, besides take me to dinner and sent me flowers that I didn’t know, until a friend told me, their meaning was to wish death upon me. This was after his arrest by the way and I was in the hospital. Some friend, huh? You know, there is something called love bombing, the intention in lavishing someone with affections, gifts and things to manipulate them.
Tumblr media
As for the proof you are looking for, that was intended on being saved for his upcoming trial. The majority of the evidence was in the video in the MASON system, which isn’t conclusive, but enough to warrant an upcoming trial and investigation. It did prove my innocence and anything else would be left up to the next Prosecutor and Defense for that trial. Knowing Kristoph, he’d likely would rather represent himself.
Tumblr media
I won’t give myself any excuse for the forged card, but I will say that it wasn’t created by me and I didn’t know it was in Apollo’s hand until he presented it. Beyond that, I won’t say anything else. Just consider that even those that are mentally insane can’t always be forgiven and that what you see as me acting out of revenge was me trying to prove my innocence. If you’re going to look at Kristoph from a neutral perspective, at least do the same for all other parties, including myself.

A Second Chance: Chapter 5
An Ace Attorney fanfic. Read on both AO3 and FF.net!
Summary: Miles learns the identity of his “dead” mother, and the aftermath of that revelation is a tricky one. Especially when his newfound little sister is trying to turn him into a spirit medium.
AKA Miles is a Fey. Miles also doesn’t really know how to family properly.
[Chapter 1] | [Chapter 2] | [Chapter 3] | [Chapter 4]
Comments make my day! :D
The Promise
You’d assume, being a prosecutor, that one would get used to the atmosphere of a prison. Perhaps many do. Miles, however, doubted he ever could. Not when he knew that there were so many stories confined in its walls, many of them probably stories of injustice. It made him nauseous to think that he was so close to being in one of these himself.
If Phoenix Wright hadn’t intervened.
Waiting in a private visiting room, he couldn’t help but keep his gaze fixed on the ground. He couldn’t deny it- he was nervous to meet the man. They hadn’t really met each other before, but both unknowingly played a part in each other’s story, therefore it sort of felt like it was overdue.
The door on the other side of the glass finally clicked and opened. Miles looked up to see Diego Armando enter, clad in the black and white striped prison uniform with his head still held high. He was wearing his infamous visor, which he couldn’t help but feel relieved at. It was a special request from him that he be permitted to wear it during the visit, although he wasn’t sure if they would grant it. At least the man could see his expression when he told him the news.
“Miles Edgeworth,” Armando said as he slowly sat down in the chair on the other side of the glass (though somewhat visibly disorientated presumably due to suddenly being given his visor) with a small smile appearing on his face. His voice was deep and rough from misuse. “to what do I owe the pleasure?”
Miles cleared his throat. “Hello, Mr. Armando. I-”
“Stop shaking, Mr Prodigy. From what I’ve heard you’re no caffeine addict, so there’s no need to act like one.”
Had he been shaking?
In truth, Godot’s story hit a little too close to home for Miles, even before he knew that he had killed his mother. For one thing, to watch Phoenix Wright accuse a prosecutor in court is not something to be taken lightly. It was unheard of, until his own trial where the prosecutor was found guilty of killing his father. Manfred Von Karma. More recently, Diego Armando had been found guilty of killing Maya’s mother, coincidentally also with Phoenix acting as defence.
That man seemed to be a truth magnet.
After that trial, he’d gained a newfound sympathy for Maya. He’d never really known how to tell her properly, but losing a parent in that fashion is not an experience shared by many. Little did he know that they would soon have to both experience each other’s pain with the revelation that they were siblings.
And the white-haired man sitting behind the glass killed their mother. It was hard not to keep thinking of that.
He cleared his throat again. “I’m sure you’re aware of the Kurain Channeling Technique?”
Diego snorted. “Too well.” Was his curt reply.
“Well,” Miles continued, “after an important conversation with her, Mia Fey sent me here.”
Suddenly Armando stiffened, and his relaxed demeanor morphed into one of importance. His posture straightened, his shoulders tensed. It was almost comedic how the mention of one name could change his entire attitude. Almost.
“Why…” he whispered, perhaps to himself, “why isn’t she the one here?”
“Because the matter at hand doesn’t entirely concern her.” Miles responded honestly.
Armando didn’t reply. Miles took that as a signal to continue.
“She told me that you had once studied under my father, Gregory Edgeworth.”
Diego sighed. “I did, but not for long.” A wistful smile pulled at his lips. “The tricks he taught me lingered in my mind everywhere I went. I was young, reckless,” he stifled a humourless laugh, “and it took a lot of convincing to get him to take on a penniless runt like me.”
He turned his head towards him, and Miles could only assume that he was looking him in the eyes. All he got was the glare of the red visor.
“He caved in the end, if only because he wanted to practise on teaching a cub like me before he did it with his own son. Hmm, he talked about you all the time.”
“I see.”
“I taught everything he taught me to Mia, you know. She must’ve taught it to Phoenix Wright.” He laughed quietly. It was an unsettling, hollow sound. “That was probably what got me in the end. Good old Greg, always searching for justice, even from beyond the grave.”
He paused, and the smile faded. “He was a good man. Better than you or I could ever hope of being.”
Miles didn’t know what to say to that. He didn’t know many people who knew his dad, so any praise (even if it was coming from a murderer) was highly valued.
“I suppose,” Miles said, once he was sure that his voice wouldn’t break, “that you were the messenger between father and daughter then.”
He sucked in a breath and waited for a response. Even without the visor, Armando was good at hiding emotion. His expression was blank as he processed what he’d just been told.
“...You’re kidding.” He said eventually.
“No.”
“Ha… I always saw a piece of Greg in her. I guess that wasn’t just me after all.”
“No, it wasn’t.”
The realisation hit a little too late. Whatever emotional barrier Armando had built for himself suddenly shattered in an instant. His perfected neutral expression turned into one of horror.
“Hold on, are you Misty’s-”
“Yes.”
“So you’re their-”
“Biological brother, yes.”
“God…”
Armando forced a grin. “I ruined another life that day, huh?”
It took all of his effort for Miles not to say “yes” to that too. So he kept silent. It was Diego who spoke next.
“I’m not gonna waste my sins with an apology, because I would be lying to you. I’m not sorry for what I did, as much as I try to be... Regret? Sure, a bit I guess. But I would do it again. I orphaned you and your sister, there’s no changing that.”
To be honest, Miles was expecting an apology when he came in here. However, now he was glad he didn’t get one. He didn’t want to feel sympathy for this man.
He just wanted to leave.
“Thank you,” he said gruffly, “for saving my sister.”
With that, he abruptly rose and made his way to the door, knocking on it sharply thrice. He accomplished what he came to do, and kept his word. That was all.
“Edgeworth.”
He turned to look at Armando, who in that time had removed his visor to reveal white, glossy eyes and a long, deep scar between them. Diego wasn’t looking directly at him, instead was staring straight ahead into the glass. It was a haunting sight.
“Tell Mia… tell her thanks for sending you. And… I want to see her. Please.”
Damn it. Sympathy.
“I’ll consider it.”
And he left.
~._-_.~
Ring-ring. Ring-ring.
“Hello?”
“Mystic Soma! Hi!”
“Mystic Maya! How are you since last time?”
“A lot better. So much better! I’ve kinda come to accept that even though Mom’s gone, she got justice in the end. I didn't even really know her so…”
“I hardly remember her too, but my mother says she was an incredibly nice woman, so she’ll be happy when I tell her. You sound a lot better than last week, I was starting to get worried about your health. You do realize that you’re the mast-”
“Hey Soma, is Pearly around? I’ve got some really important news to tell her, and I just can’t wait!”
“Oh, yes she is. Is it good news or bad news? Should I stay with her?”
“It’s awesome news! But yeah, I think you should stick around. You can pretend you’re cleaning or something like you used to do with me.”
“I did not!”
“You’re a horrible liar.”
“And you’re imagining things. Hold on, I’ll get Pearly for you.”
“Thanks!”
“Pearl! Come over here, Mystic Maya wants to speak to you!”
“...Pearly?”
“H-hi Mystic Maya.”
“Oh Pearly, you’re not still sad over my mom, are you? Mystic Soma told me you were feeling better!”
“...I told her to say that.”
“Oh, Pearly.”
“I-I-I’m sorry! I d-didn’t want to make you s-sad...”
“Nonono, don’t cry! I have some really cool news!”
“R-Really? What is it?”
“I found out who my dad was, and I have a brother!”
“What? B-But Mystic Maya-”
“I know! But that’s not even the best part!”
“Wha-who…?”
“Pearly, you’ll never believe it, but Edgeworth’s my brother! He’s your cousin!! He’s a part of our family!!!”
“...h-huh?”
“Mr Edgeworth’s your big cousin, Pearly! And yes, it is the one you’re thinking of. Tall but not that tall, weird dark hair, always looks like he wants to slam his face into a wall? Him! He’s-”
“No!”
“Huh? Pearly?”
“NO!!!”
“What? Pearly, what-”
“Mystic Maya, what did you say?!”
“Mystic Soma, I-”
“I’ve got to go, Pearly’s really upset.”
“I don’t-”

Dear Skibot99,
Mod Edgeworth: Case 2, 3 and 4 of Justice For All, Rise From the Ashes - That effing vase was not looking PERFECTLY like the Badger and don’t get me started on the video camera, Turnabout Trump - was the first AA game I played so it was hell playing it, Turnabout Succession, Case 2 and 3 of Dual Destinies, The Rite of the Turnabout and Turnabout Revolution.
Strangely enough, I never had to look up any walkthroughs when playing the Miles Edgeworth Investigations games. Not to say I never had any trouble, but I had already developed the strategy: if you don’t know which evidence to present, just keep going through each piece of evidence until you get the right one. Thank goodness for the saves, right?
Tumblr media
Agreed with the MASON system shit. That was hell!
Co-Mod: Two such moments stick out in my mind -- the one in Turnabout Big Top where you’re supposed to present the poster against Moe’s testimony (read Phoenix’s mind, in other words), and the part of The Magical Turnabout where you have to point out the mysterious shadow that appears on stage.  That one aggravated the snot out of me.
On that note, I was pretty glad they added hints in SoJ, because I came this close to consulting a walkthrough for the part where you have to show that the wind’s blowing in The Rite of Turnabout.  I enjoy a good challenge, but GOOD GRIEF, that was a tough one, Capcom.

Mod Edgeworth: No. That’s the reason Larry never dies. Wendy Oldbag is a special kind of lady, whose existence lies beyond space and time itself.
Co-Mod: ...Actually, you know what?  Not even gonna add anything here.

Dear Anonymous,
Co-Mod: Taken care of.  My letter responses are like my childrens, so it hurt me to let them go, but that’s just how it is sometimes.
Tumblr media
Dear Anonymous,
Co-Mod: You didn’t include a link, so I’m not sure what you’re referring to.  The name “Morgana” only appears once on this blog, and it’s referring to a character from a different game, so I’m guessing it was either a typo one of us made and later fixed, or something else I’m unaware of.  If it’s the latter, please let us know.

Dear Dawsongfg,

Dear Dawsongfg,
Co-Mod: Um...  Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I guess?
Tumblr media
Dear Stratoavis,
Mod Edgeworth: I’ve watched Turnabout Storm. Does that count?
Co-Mod: I remember playing through one fan case, but I don’t remember what its name was.  It involved Apollo waking up in hell and having to find out who murdered Phoenix, with Manfred von Karma as the prosecutor.  Does anyone know the one I’m talking about?
Hopefully I’ll get the chance to play some other fan cases down the road, but I guess that one’s my favorite for now, seeing as how it’s the only one I’ve played.
Tumblr media
Dear Kristoph Gavin,
Mod Edgeworth: No thanks. I’ve already got too many, which is three that I never use, except for chigger bites and pantyhose.
Co-Mod: I never use anything with a brand name I can’t pronounce.  That’s one of my rules.

Dear Dawsongfg,
Mod Edgeworth: Last I checked, I was 29.

Dear Dawsongfg,
Mod Edgeworth: OO OO AH AH!

Dear Anonymous,
Mod Edgeworth: You obviously haven’t met Larry or Feenie.
Co-Mod: Normally, I wouldn’t hold the same opinion about a child crying, but I have to agree that Pearl has a very cute way of crying.

It apparently runs in the family, too.
Tumblr media
And the Miyauchi family, too, while we’re at it.

Okay, I’ll stop there.

Mod Edgeworth: Naoooooog! I completely forgot to mention about that.
We can see anonymous letters on desktop now... sorry for not announcing that. I wasn’t thinking about that. Also, yes, you are just weird and it’s a compliment.
Co-Mod: You haven’t been introduced to Mr. Ladyfirst, also known as Adam Redifast (and now Lay D. First, apparently)?  He’s an apprentice milliner with a polite attitude and a kind heart.  I don’t recommend getting in an omnibus with him, though.  Just trust me on that one.

Mod Edgeworth: Lying Coldly definitely is my favorite, followed by this from the PLvsPW. Both are equally good and I find that the PLvsPW has really REALLY good, addicting music. Why couldn’t that game be canon!?
That is one crazy dream. I once dreamed of flying, because I realized I was dreaming. I did end up flying by the way.
P.S. I did notice that. Before, the anonymous letters would at least show the titled names and email, but it seems to be hidden now. That’s not the only issue, Tumblr is also erasing the line skips. I would use HTML from now on, if your letters are getting jumbled up like this. That’s what I’m having to do when submitting letters.
Co-Mod: It seems you and I share the same first and second favorite pursuit themes.  I doubt we’ll ever hear anything better than those in a future Ace Attorney game, should we ever be lucky enough to get one.  Then again, I’ve still yet to play through the Chronicles games, so I may just end up changing my mind on that.
While we’re talking about Ace Attorney dreams, I’ve had a couple myself -- one where I saw Ema Skye in the flesh working on a case (I don’t remember if I talked to her, but I do remember seeing her), and one where I was playing a game from Apollo’s point of view, and Athena put a hand on his cheek with a warm smile.  MAN, I wish it could’ve lasted longer...

Dear Rob Stores and Drink Coke,
Mod Edgeworth: I’m Mod Edgeworth. Nice to meet you.
Co-Mod: And I’m Cyrano de Bergerac.

Dear dawsongfg,
Mod Edgeworth: Yes. We all use the same password to log on here. Also, did you intentionally not log out of your account or was this by accident?
