Here we all, fam! FFXIVWrite 2020 is complete and I don’t know about you guys but this year’s went by in a hurry!

I want to give a personal shout out to @sea-wolf-coast-to-coast for hosting this yet again for the 4th year in a row, big thanks to them! I also want to give <3s to my fellow FFXIV writers for allowing me to borrow their characters, such as @aethernoise, @stars-bleed-hearts-shine & @dragons-bones for some of my entries! Thank you!

Ah, what to say this year? I think this round I really embraced just writing what came to me (still on that fluff high from May, I guess!) and not forcing anything. I think this is the easiest year I’ve had so far when it comes to producing story ideas and drabbles. This year probably has the most Ahlis/Aymeric content yet (sorry not sorry lol) but the tradition of inserting a few pals’ OCs will never die either ;)

So, yeah! Not a lot to say honestly this year lol. I had fun, gave myself the freedom to just throw stuff to the wind/onto my blog and didn’t sweat it. I hope some of it was at the least entertaining, and to everyone who liked, reblogged and gave words of feedback and encouragement, thank you! I hope to be back next year!

three boys, three girls; sounds like balance but reality is chaos

family trips once every summer and once every winter, it’s non negotiable

like wolves, they walk in a pack. if you see one, there’s definitely another one close by

breakfast together to trash talk everyone else the morning after every event

dani & leda spend the least time at home once they’re grown ‘cause they’re busy being adults and politics and whatnot

the other 4 probably don’t even know the first thing about politics

barbie never let the boys cut their hair too short so they just grew used to having somewhat long hair and kept it going forever

twins #2 demand separate parties since they were born in different days because of twelve minutes

they all make fun of dani 24/7 for being the only gen z of the bunch

DANI.

took him very long to get used to having siblings but the second they started growing and he realised he could get them to do stuff for him, he was cool

still needs his alone time with barbie at least three times a week though

is closer to leda because they have the most in common and they can talk about responsibilities and shit

leda dared him to cut his hair short one day and it almost gave barbie a heart attack, he kept it short after that because he liked the look

political science major, economy phd

has too many hobbies and most of them don’t even make sense, he just sees anything that could be considered interesting and goes ‘i could do that’

painting is still his major hobby ‘cause it’s something he can do with aunt ari and his dad

not barbie’s so she did feel a bit left out in her late teen/youth years, mostly for overthinking and the fact she has to spend a good portion of her time in greece

eva was the one to sort of notice it and get those thoughts out of her head

is very protective of eva now so they grow up to be pretty close

her personality comes entirely from sergi so she’s a menace

very closed off, doesn’t make it her #1 priority to make friends, being respected is enough to keep her happy

back to comparing them to a wolf pack, she’s the alpha. like yes, dani’s the oldest but she’s the boss

gets in trouble with too much ease, it’s a real talent the way she can give her parents headaches on the spot

gets that, her short temper, stubbornness, looks and the constant need to pick on her andrés from barbie

wilder than barbie though and fearless too ‘cause she doesn’t have a whole country to worry about

harvard law bitch but only because she didn’t know what else to do and harvard law sounded powerful enough, won’t ever use her degree for anything

didn’t tell anyone in college she’s a royal at first but got sick of the stuck up law students one day and started using it to show them there’s always someone bigger and more important in the room

constantly getting his (older by five minutes) twin out of trouble

got a matching tattoo with eva at their eighteenth birthday even though he didn’t want to (because, again, she’s the boss) but after that, he didn’t stop and now has more tats than he can count

looks like a spoiled fuckboy but looks are definitely deceiving with this one

soft lover boy

cries way too easily thanks to his dad’s genes

needs glasses

love language is both words of affirmation and physical touch. will wrap an arm around the nearest family member wherever he is

a romantic, a helper, definitely a hugger in deep need of love and affection at all times

grew up obsessed with animals, especially the big ones, because of his mother’s pets 

the most supportive of the bunch. any project, important day or sad moment his siblings have, he’s there in three seconds with the bragança special (cake)

everyone’s friend like jesus christ is this guy an extrovert. that’s his main talent: he can befriend even the grumpiest most hateful person

sports boy. surfs for fun, snowboards for work which confuses barbie and andrés so much because neither of them knew snowboarding was something one could do at a professional level

world champion and olympian (probably looks up to teo a lot)

life of the party. once he and eva can party together it’s a done deal

no drugs or too much alcohol though because he actually takes the whole healthy athlete scene a little too serious

he and his twin collectively decided they wouldn’t go to uni and their parents will never recover from that shock

because he travels a lot for work, feli spends all his free time at home with the family

will carry on ale’s legacy of never wearing a shirt

was gonna be named frederico until eva pointed out that they couldn’t name him that because it was cali’s middle name

they changed it to felipe but dani started calling him “not fred” since then and the nickname kind of stuck around

GIGI.

it girl 

you think you can offend or piss her off? well, she’s too busy buying new shoes to even hear it

her entire personality is based on the “you wanna fight me with these long nails on? no, this hair was not cheap” quote by megan thee stallion

looking at her you’d think she’s the stereotypical dumb blondie and she does nothing to change that but is actually the smartest of the bunch hence why it was so hard for her parents to understand her not going to uni. it made sense with feli but gigi? hard to understand

has her own haircare brand and forces her siblings and friends to model for it

she’s the baby so obviously spoiled but actual sweetheart

never stressed over anything a day in her life

obsessed with flowers, used to go to the palace garden and take some out to put in her bedroom, the gardeners hated her as a child

inherited her mother’s love for buying presents. she gives everyone new stuff without the need of a special day or something to celebrate she just loves giving presents and buying things

• wait Toby called Mandy “Amanda” but Josh called her “Madeline” in another episode...this just convinced me she wasn’t a real person but instead a figment of their imagination

• *doesn’t want anyone to know the Supreme Court nominee*

*proceeds to scream his name down the halls*

Bartlet is channeling Abbey I see.

• I love that the justice who’s retiring is named crouch...cause it rhymes with grouch...And he was a real grouch.

• “Yeah I can’t believe my psychic didn’t tell me, Toby.”

I love CJ

• “CJ likes goldfish.”

I absolutely love Danny’s face after Josh tells him that. His eyes get so big and he’s like “what?!”

• lol privacy has pretty much gone totally out the window since this episode aired

• honestly Danny giving CJ an actual living goldfish is definitley one of the top 5 scenes of this show no one fight me on that

• another one is the Francis Scott Key Key and they both have Allison Janney’s amazing laugh. Coincidence? I think not.

• holy crap I forgot Charlie knew Judge Harrison

• I love how there’s like 30+ people standing outside the oval waiting for Mendoza to come out, like they don’t have important work to be doing lol

Podcast:

• guest star: Ronald Klain: former Chief of staff to VPs Biden and Gore

• the plot of nominating a new Supreme Court Justice was based on Reagan nominating Judge Robert Bork to the Supreme Court only for the Senate, which the Democrats had the majority in, denied his confirmation. Like Harrison, Bork believed that the Constitution did not contain a general "right to privacy".

• the Clinton Administration allowed 21 White House employees to continue working despite background checks indicating they used drugs within the year before being hired.

• it’s so interesting to me that some of the plots on the show happened in real life. Not surprising, but I’ve never given it any thought before.

• “so of course we walk away from this liking Mandy...”

• Ruth Bader Ginsberg was a last minute nomination in 1993 after Mario Cuomo turned it down. Like what Mandy said about Mendoza, RBG was considered to be someone who would make a good justice, but be a terrible nomination.
