I like Shu's character and visual design a lot but so much of her gameplay design is stupid in a way that I feel like bodes pretty poorly for the future of the game.

Here's her talent 2. It's really good and also kind of really stupid.

Specifically the "when there are 4 Sui Operators in the squad" part. It's kind of absurdly fucking good. +12% ATK is a lot and +1 SP / 4 seconds is also a lot, especially when it applies to all skills that require SP, and not just auto-recover ones. The fact that it only requires them to be on the squad and not necessarily deployed is stupidly good, you don't even have to deploy them to get a massive buff to everyone. Almost all the "give buffs just by being on the squad lineup" talent effects are relatively small in numerical effect and relatively conditional (often times only affecting a single class or faction) but this one provides an effect that is universally useful and has obscenely good numbers on it. And it requires you to have 4 specific limited ops from a faction for which there are currently only 5 playable units for! If you want to make use of this effect and currently don't have any of the Sui or you just recently started playing or any other reason, well, you better have 1200 pulls!

But wait! There's more bullshit.

They made it so the 3rd part of her talent 2 doesn't work if you borrow her from Support. That's right, even if you wanted to make use of her talent 2 3rd effect and have every other Sui in the game but you got unlucky on pulls and didn't want to spend 300 entire pulls for a single character, you can't! Fuck you!

question: how did you discover/get into scooby doo?

this is something i'm always so interested to hear, being that there are few people who don't have at least some small tie to the franchise. whether you would consider it one of your biggest current interests or it's just something nostalgic from your childhood, i'd love to know how you found scooby and what it means to you!

#for me it was my dad! he grew up with the original show and wanted to introduce it to me #so one day when i was maybe? seven?? he came home with the winter wonderdog dvd and we watched it that night #from there we watched every single scooby doo movie that had ever been made #and got the new ones as they came out in subsequent years! #watching a new scooby movie with my dad every weekend are honestly some of my favourite childhood memories #also what's new scooby doo had also started airing on one of the main cartoon channels here in the uk around 2010 #so that's the show i watched the most consistently as a kid #velma was my original favourite of the gang because i looked a lot like her (big glasses/same haircut/etc.) #people would always compare me to her and it genuinely gave me a lot of confidence in my appearance that stays with me to this day #but fred was always my firm second favourite - he made me laugh the most of any character #and took on a deeper meaning to me in my adolescence when i realised i was autistic and strongly identified with his portrayals as such #the characters are probably what's kept me coming back all this time - they've been with me forever #and i love them individually + as a team who support each other with their unique skills and love for one another #but also the wacky adventures and general aesthetic #many people joke about the basic plot being the same every time but it makes my autistic brain happy #i love permanence and consistency baby!!!!! #and the different variations on that same formula always keep things fresh and fun #anyway ramble over #looking forward to hearing you guys' responses! :D #scooby doo #nem misc posts :]

thinking about how Auden would have been a more traditional and palatable protagonist for a game like Forspoken, running around selflessly helping everybody and trying to save the world all by herself. It would’ve been easy to relegate Frey to the crass comic relief friend who swears a lot. The game probably would have been a lot more successful that way, too.

That makes me appreciate all the more that they stuck to their guns and made it entirely Frey’s story tbh. Ilu Auden but I love Frey more lol

Gosh, with the new leaf glider coming out soon, I'm tempted to do a makeover of my main gal to actually turn her into Mourynn so I can actually have her in game (the leaves are monstera leaves which is what I designed her with, and now that I have her the orchid wingies back (that are meant to turn into monstera versions later on), I feel so compelled to edit my main so that I can try to actually have my main OC in game... (also for art party reasons). I know I won't be able to get her to look exact (since she has an original design and all), but at least this can make me one step closer to making her look as close as possible. I am so attached to Vespaura tho, so i will feel bad to change my crystal gal... (I'll also have to rename my Scourge so that I can use my OCs name for my Mirage main, and then find someone else to use Vespaura's name on later if I do). I suppose I could rename my Chrono and give her her look... hmm. Should I glow up Vespaura so I can have an actual in-game Mourynn? (I'm so torn so maybe a poll will help me decide) (also here's hoping it is dyeable. I imagine the new glider should be since the newer ones have been, but if it isn't I will be very sad)

okay girls im going to be a little hashtag critical here but i have been ruminating LONG ENOUGH and i really really do not like that scene in the graphic novel murder on the rockport limited where lucretia recognized the umbrastaff. i understand what they were trying to do and i understand you have to change things for the medium but its kind of a disservice to both lucretia and taakos characters imo. lucretia works so hard to keep the boys from questioning things like why would she have a reaction like that. like they couldve alluded to her recognizing it but a scene like that is so in your face and it takes power away from the scene in crystal kingdom where red robe barry recognizes it. and wrt taakos character like. hes never Particularly trustful of lucretia like on a personal level but overall he trusts the bureau and lucretia until reunion tour. adding in a scene like that at that point in the story makes no sense like u cannot convince me taako would not start questioning what the directors really up to and why she had such a personal reaction.
