I apologize in advance because this is like top 3 angstiest WIP I have lol. I am going to put A LOT of context, I guess you can read without it tho ? It's basically a role swap between Claire and Dimitri. Context right beneath, WIP under the cut

So yeah AU in which Claire doesn't want to die and so she starts working on a machine that could stabilize her body, except the machine kinda tampered with the fabric of reality during the first few tests (no real consequences because the machine isn't fully functional yet). Dimitri decides after hesitating for a loooong time that it is getting too dangerous and he goes get Layton to stop Claire. In the end Claire and Clive both finishes their projects at the same time (right before Layton gets there), so to make sure Claire and co would be too busy to stop him Clive breaks her machine. Not spoiling the very end of the AU (already spoiled like 90% lol) but yeah, this takes place after Claire has been trying to fix her machine.

It was laughable, really. She had spent so much time trying to make her machine work, only to figure out at the last possible moment that the generator was done for- and she couldn't fix it in time.

How could she waste so much time in such a stupid way ?

She tore her gaze away from her forever unfinished machine, the one that could have been her lifeline and was instead as lifeless as she would soon be and always had been at the same time.

She had run out of time- she was about to die again.

It wasn't laughable, actually- it was infuriating.

She just wanted to live. She didn't even want a happy life, or a fulfilled one, she just wanted a life. She would be so content with a bizarre life spent solving puzzles and mysteries all the time.

Instead, she was about to die. Worse than that, actually- she had to choose how she would die this time, the only choice she had been given. Would she disappear all alone with her broken hopes and broken body when the time had come ? Would she wait and hope for Hershel to come see her one last time, and share one last moment with him ? Would she try to stop Clive in time and save the world ?

'Save the world'. This was all so stupid. The world she was looking upon had never been the one of her time : all of this was just a glimpse of what she could never have, what could never be. After all, everyone but her had moved on : her choice wouldn't- shouldn't mean anything to any of them.

With a sigh, she closed her hand around the watch Hershel had given her.

Jason Crabb is set to join voices with Jay DeMarcus and Jason Scheff to sing the National Anthem for “The Big Machine Music City Grand Prix NTT INDYCAR Series” race on Sunday, August 6th with a start time of 11:30am CST.  

Jason, Jay and Jason will perform the National Anthem LIVE at 11:11am CST prior to the race. The National Anthem and race will be broadcast on NBC.

One of Gospel and Christian music's most iconic voices, Kentucky-born Jason Crabb has been honored with two GRAMMY® Awards and 22 GMA Dove Awards, the latter including nods for Artist, Male Vocalist, and Song of the Year. He is the youngest member inducted into the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame, and his hometown of Beaver Dam, Kentucky has paid tribute with a street in his name.

#coincidence wilde #curse of strahd #dnd #dungeons and dragons #dnd character #OKAY SO #coincidence grew up in an orphanage run by nuns of ilmater #and while they were there they were friends with this little half orc girl named janna #she was very frail and coincidence watched out for her like a little sister #one day when they were working the industrial looms janna nodded off and slipped into the machine #coincidence dove to try and pull her out and in the panic and sudden pain of their horn getting caught in the machine #their latent wildmagic awakened and they cast thunderwave instinctually which broke teh machine before they could get hurt further #however #it was too late for little janna and they lost their only friend #they were adopted afterwards by a wigmaker that used to cut the hair of the kids at the orphanage #frederic winthrope #who had taken a liking to coincidence due to their beautiful oil slick rainbow hair #but the adoption didn't last as frederic soon revealed he only wanted them to use their hair and became sour #when coincidence didnt do as he wished and he started to be obsessively controllign to the point of abuse #they ran away and after a brief period of homelessness returned to the orphanage having nowhere else to go #and remained there until they aged out of it beign distrustful of anyone else that showed interest in adopting them
