Cha Cha Cha demo(?) version/ Mr. Cha Cha lyrics and English translation
Tummat silmät ruskea tukka
Keltainen puku kuin auringonkukka
Sekaisin koko Suomi on
Ku paikalle marssii Cha Cha Cha Cha
Varastaa heti huomion
Ku pöydällä tanssii Cha Cha Cha Cha
Kuka on tuo mies? Kuka on tuo mies?
On pelkkää juhlaa, kilttii ja tuhmaa
Cha Cha Cha Cha Cha
Yön selkään hän ratsastaa
Cha Cha Cha Cha Cha
Kuka on tuo mies? Kuka on tuo mies?
Cha Cha Cha Cha Cha
Kaataa päälleen shampanjaa
Cha Cha Cha Cha Cha
Kuka on tuo mies?
Mä oon herra Cha Cha Cha
Translation:
Dark eyes, brown hair
Suit as yellow as a sunflower
All of Finland is baffled (or: goes crazy)
When Cha Cha Cha Cha marches in
Immediately steals the attention
When dances Cha cha cha cha on the table
Who is that man? Who is that man?
It's/Is pure party, nice and naughty
Cha cha cha cha cha
Into the night he rides
Cha cha cha cha cha
Who is that man? Who is that man?
Cha cha cha cha cha
Pours champagne on himself
Cha cha cha cha cha
Who is that man?
I'm mr Cha Cha Cha

🫔song part 2🫔
i got some song suggestions :D so i will translate sentences that are not kirjakieli/the easiest to understand to easy finnish or if it's easy, english and then provide a word list.
todays song: NELLI MATULA: LEMMIKKI
Merkkikelloo ja kalliita pukuja
(designer wristwatch and exprensive suits/dresses)
Taiot naisii ku Houdini pupuja
(you make ladies appear like Houdini does with bunnies)
Mut mua ei kiinnosta mitä susta puhutaan
(mutta minua ei kiinnosta mitä minusta puhutaan)
Mä oon päättänyt että sä mun oot
(minä olen päättänyt, että sinä olet minun)
Enkä aio potee huonoo omatuntoo
(i'm not trying to have low confidence)
Haluun loppuun sut kuluttaa
(i want to use you until you're done)
Sä oot niin komee
(sinä olet niin komea)
Sä oot niin nätti
(sinä olet niin nätti)
Joo haluun heittää sut säkkiin
(yes i want to throw you in a bag)
Haluun sut nopee
(haluan sinut nopeasti)
Haluun sut äkkii
(haluan sinut äkkiä)
Haluun laittaa sut näytille häkkiin
(i want to display you in a cage)
Koeta juosta vielä jos kerkeet
(try to run now when you can)
En aio vapauttaa sua hetkeen
(i do not plan on letting you out in a minute)
Kyl mä vielä sut loukkuun saan
(i can still get you trapped)
Aion kesyks sut kouluttaa
(i plan to domesticate you)
Aion laittaa sut remmiin kii
(i plan to put you in a leash)
Tuu leikkii mun lemmikkii
(tule leikkimään minun lemmikkiäni)
Nyt kun päätän susta digata
(nyt päätän pitää sinusta)
Sä et haluu tätä puheillasi pilata
(you do not want to ruin this with your talk)
Näytä mulle et mikä sussa on ihanaa
(näytä minulle että mikä sinussa on ihanaa)
Väität ettei susta saa sulhoo
(you say that you won't make a groom)
Mut mun käsittely fixaa sut kuntoon
(but my handling fixes you up)
Haluun pehmeeks sut sulattaa
(i want to melt you)
Sä osaat pelaa, mä osaan voittaa
(sinä osaat pelata, minä osaan voittaa)
Oot amatööri kun rupeen dominoimaan
(you are an amateur when i start to dominate)
Turhaa kelaa, turha koittaa
(no need to think, no need to try)
Parempi olla vaan kilttiä poikaa
(better to be a good boy)
Koeta juosta vielä jos kerkeet
En aio vapauttaa sua hetkeen
Sun täytyy alkaa jo hiffaa
(sinun täytyy alkaa jo käsittämään)
Ei saa kiskoa hihnaa
(you cannot pull on the leash)
Tuu paikalle kun mä vislaan
(come here when i whistle)
Jos haluut Nelliin kii
(jos haluat Nelliin kiinni)
Tuu leikkii mun lemmikkii
(come play as my pet)

2, 7, 13 & 28 for the writer asks 📝
Sorry that I have had a hard time getting into answering this! Thank you for the awesome questions.
I’ll put the answers under read more bc it may get long, okay?
2. Is there a trope you’ve yet to try your hand at, but really want to?
Not really, I think. My ideas are not trope driven.
7. Share a snippet from one of your favorite pieces of prose you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.
I have many but I’ll share a recent one. As a bonus, you’ll have it in two languages because it is from my translation project. It’s a piece of dialogue, actually. I’m proud of it because I think it is a good, dynamic piece of dialogue that shows the relationship of the characters well and takes the story - the plot being the development of the relationship - a notch forward.
“That whole night, you know… I should never have taken you there. I’ll be fucked if the suits find out. You, the way you are –” he moves his hand to Sebastian’s hair, pets it with his hand – “Your whole generation is so clean and pure. Everybody wants you to be cute and nice. And – just, everything. You’re only nineteen. And you’re Sebastian Aho. Your father would kill me if he knew. I don’t want Harri Aho to send half of Finland out for my head.”
Sebastian lets out a soft laugh and butts his head lightly against his palm, almost like a cat. How great that he wasn’t offended, Veli-Matti loves his sense of humor.
“You won’t even play in Finland next season!” he answers and elbows Veli-Matti’s arm.
“You see?” Veli-Matti elbows him back. ”You don’t even deny that he’d kill me.”
(Midnight in Paris, chapter 2)
The original version:
13. What’s the best writing advice you’ve ever come across?
Have fun. Just write. The first draft is going to suck, you can always go back and fix it, just get it out of your head. When you’re a bit scared to write it it will be good. Write what you would read. (I don’t know which one of these is the best. Also, don’t draft on paper if you need to get something actually finished, learn to think by writing.)
28. Share three of your favorite fic writers and why you like them so much.
Sister_Grimm  / @isconnormcdavidok, is an awesome writer and an awesome person. I love the bold grittiness of her stories and the storytelling, and the very hot sex scenes.
ThoseDaysThatWill / @thosedaysthatwill, the same as above, I love the way she creates friendship dynamics and writes dialogue, it’s a great flow of banter that you just have fun reading.
bauer is/used to be one hell of a writer but they (@bauerbump) blocked me on tumblr so if they have some new stuff on some new account somewhere I wouldn’t know. But the back catalogue is well worth reading especially if you like surprising, a bit more complex and darker stuff.
Three is too few! So I’ll share my 3 favorite sepe/teuvo writers too.
kehlee / @svechlly is so good! I live for the updates of inextricable.
itsokaytopretend20 / @itsokaytopretend another amazing person, amazing canes fan, great at smut, even better at gut-wrenching heartbreak.
fauxpunk / @clubhockey has only one hockey rpf Sepe/Teuvo fic on ao3 but it is so amazing you need to go read it.

How do I get the visa? Edit source code]
The snakes in the Australian bush are much smaller. But some of them are so poisonous that even a small bite wound is enough to go into agony. Let us start with one of the most poisonous snakes of all, the Eastern Brown Snake (Pseudonaja textilis). Despite its harmless sounding name, the Poison Snake is considered the second most poisonous land snake in the world. Another serious fact is that the snake is so widespread in Australia that hardly any region is not populated by it.

When do I need a visa for New Zealand?
Maori culture in New Zealand. Māori are the indigenous people of New Zealand. They call themselves Tangata Whenua and came to the islands more than 1000 years ago from their mythical Polynesian homeland Hawaiki. Today about 14% of New Zealand's total population is Maori. |}
The treaty is now considered the founding document of New Zealand.
In 1953 a mudslide ('lahar') from a ruptured crater lake on Mt Ruapehu killed 151 people in a passing train. Mount Tarawera near Rotorua had the most damaging eruption, killing more than 120 people in 1886. Lake Taupo, New Zealand's largest lake, is nothing more than a huge crater lake.
What is Kia Ora?
The twist has found its way into New Zealand English and is now a natural part of everyday language. It is used both for greetings and goodbyes. Literally, Kia ora means something like May you be healthy or may you be well.
Logan just shook his head and said that it was a White Tail Spider and they were not to be trifled with. Avoid crossing a river at high tide (recognizable e.g. by the muddy colour and flowing objects) if you don't feel 100% safe. Return or wait until the water level drops - this can happen quite quickly. Keep your boots on, minimise the water resistance of your clothing in the current. This is a large alluvial plain, which is well suited for agricultural purposes, such as livestock breeding. From this plain, the volcanically shaped Banks Peninsula rises into the Pacific Ocean, which belongs to the urban area of Christchurch, the largest agglomeration of the South Island and third largest in the country. 7. Syyskuuta. 2019 (2/3)
Everyone got in their own rooms. And nea started taking off Allu’s clothes.
“Sori ku lainasin.”
“Ei se mitää. Kun ei täällä niinkään noita peruskuteita tarvii.”
“Allu.. Meidän pitäs varmaan käydä suihkussa kun tota (köhköh) mun eilisilta ja ei pahal mut haiset hirveelt hielt.” Nea sais. Allu laughed and nodded.
“Jep. Mee sä vaan suihkuun. Saan hoidettua tämän mun vitun WinxClub voimilla.”
“Miten vitussa. Onks teil joku suihku taika?”
“Siis kun pystyn sytyttään itseni tuleen. Ja tuli sterilisoi pöpöt jne ja tässätapauksessa polttaa kaiken ylimääräsen mun kropalla...” Allu decided to demonstrate this trick and got up in flames. Everything that burned vanished as black ash in the air. When the flames were gone Nea started laughing her ass off, literally. Alex looked at himself and saw that he was naked.
“Vittu mä voisin joskus ajatella asiat loppuun...” Allu cursed and took fresh pair of underwear from his luggage. “Hei turpakii ja mee sinne suihkuu!” Allu couldn’t hold his own laugh.
“Haluisitko matchaavan asun Codyn kaa. Kun siis mulla ja codyllahan on antikristuksen etiketti eli me ei ees saada pukeuta, ainakaan kokouksissa, perus pukuihin. Se on pakosta musta missä on punasta ja sit edes jollain tavalla viktorian aikasta.” Allu kysyin ja meni nean kaapille #gentleman.
“No totta helvetissä. Mut nyt meen suihkuun.” Nea said. Alex kept digging thru nea’s closet that had different dresses, gowns to add to them and all from heaven to hell. Alex found a dolly black red dress and decided that it will do fine with yesterday’s other pieces, also this one covers the base of nea’s neck.
For his own wear, because of the little incident, he picked up a pretty confusing looking top and other pair of leather pants, and pretty tall creeper boots. As usual Alex tipped off his suit with small clip on chains and rings.
“Eloo!” Nea came from the bathroom, her hair had gone perfect with only blowdrying. “Älä liiku!” Alex said and run to get hairspray. He went to confused nea and started to spray on all the hair, nea couching. “Finito!”
“Aika nice. Mun pitäs viel meikata.” Nea sighed. She started putting on the dress and other’s that Alex has laid on the couch. When they were both dressed up nea took her makeup bag and turned to Alex who was standing meter away from her, bit taller than her.
“Mitäs vittua.” Nea asked seeing the tall shoes. “Pakko. Hih. Näyttää niin tyhmältä ku meen Tillin vieressä pätkänä kun se muutenki on sellane jätti. Anna mä teen sun meikin ni päästää nopeemi.” Allu said.
“Ethän sä osaa enää meikata.” Nea snorted smiling but Alex was already doing her base. The eye makeup was pretty basic, dark red around the eyes, thick blended black liner and thick mascara, and dark red lips with pretty sharp cutting contour.
“Tänään panostetaan ulkonäköön enemmän kun on nää ite palaverit.” Allu said and put some red on the corner of his eyes, same that he did on the end of last school year, inspired by ahs apocalypse.
They took last check on the mirror and Alex hooked his arm around nea’s hand who looked at him quoestoning. “Manner’s” Was his reply.
Both walked out of the room to till and cody waiting for them. Alex handed nea to cody who took her hand the same way, and himself, placed kiss on Till’s cheek. Alex and Till didn't walk käsikynkässä but nea decided to not ask about it. they were weird pair.
The four walked to the canteen, Cody and Nea first, Till and Alex behind them. Whole canteen quieted down for a moment and everyone bowed their head a bit. Nea turned to look at cody and was about to ask when she heard allus voice in her head. ”Even if quinton and such are the highest rank on a tree, in fact me and cody, the antichrist are the ones who rule here. I mean, we arent the bosses but our ideas and voice is higher than other's and if we wanted we could kill quinton and them all and be the bosses. but respect is everything. me and cody would be swimming in piss without them. they do the paperwork and not the dirty work but we do that.” Nea nodded and they got to their seats on the corner with Windows to both directions.
”There you go Mr.North, Mr.Fern, Mr. Lindemann (pieni paussi) and Mrs. Fern" The waitress says as she places breakfast trays in front of them. Nea was about to correct it but Cody patted her thight and the waitress left. ”Why did she think I'm your wife but Alex and Till were seperate?” nea Asked
”Because, Dear, they haven't seen you before and you are with me so they are told to call escorts and such by their, well person they are with.” Cody explained. Nea nodded slowly. ”But you aren't an escort dear. They just can't know.” He added.
They ate breakfast in silence and then left. They all went to Neas and Alexs room. ”We've got 30mins.” Till said, smirking at Alex.
”Oh shut it. You take 30mins to making out.” Alex scoffed. Till took a small glass bottle of some kind of whiskey and took a sip then handed it to Cody. Cody took a sip and handed it to Nea who looked at allu and then back to cody. Allu looked at cody angrily, who’s eyes seemed almost pleading.
”This once.” allu grunted. nea took the bottle and sipped it. She was handing it to Till as Alex grapped it from her and chugged the last of it. All of them stared at him eyes wide. ”What? I'm a devil bitch. I can disolve alcohol the way I want to in my guts.” Alex said. He was kinda pissed but played it cool. There was reason why he didnt drink and now there was reason he did. One, Alex didn't want to be part of the Order anymore. two, if he didn't like how the alco felt he could disolve it in his guts. three, he trusted Till to take care if something happened.
”Nea. please dont tell anyone back in finland.” Alex pleaded and threw the empty bottle to trash.
“We should get going. The earlier we are the better places we get.” Cody said, and took nea käsikynkkä. (siis mä en kestä.)
They went to conference room 3. Some people already were there. “Well cody you were wrong, some people have assigned seats.” Till said. The four started to walk to the front of the room.
There were rows of seats with tabled and on the front there were puhemiehen sellane jännä niiku pikkupöytä and on both sides of that, facing the others.
“That’s where the elite sits.” Alex said and swallowed. Anxiety kicked in, sitting there in front of about hundred people who look at you like a traitor who came back. Till placed hand on allu’s back and stroked it reasuringly.
“It’s going to be okay. Just concentrade on me and nea sitting here.” Till said and nodded to the direction of seats named for them on the front row.
“Why am I sitting here with you?” Nea asked Till. “Because you can’t be sitting with the elite but none of us want you to sit alone in the back with some (lowers voice) whores.” Till said.
“What if people think I'm your girlfriend.” Nea panicked. “That’s a silly question dear. I’ll mark you as mine and everyone coming close to you can feel youre mine.” Cody said. Nea got ready for another bite, but they could think till did that. Maybe he takes a knife and writes it on her. Cody leaned down and gave nea a deep kiss, making her feel literally owned.
“It’s not physical. It’s an aura.” He said. Nea nodded and more people started to flood in. Till and Nea took their seats, the way that nea had the side one so she didnt have to sit next to starnger. Alex breathed heavily and walked with cody to their places on the front. They didn’t sit down but stood behind the chairs.
“HEY! ISN’T THAT THE BITCH WHO WAS THROWN OUT OF THE ORDER BECAUSE SHE WANTED TO BE A MAN!?” Some man shouted. Everyone turned to look at him, fast enough to see how he flew with raging force to the wall and then out of the window. Gaspes where heard, mostly from escorts and newbies. Members know that you don’t fuck with the elite, or the antichrist. The window repaired itself and everyone turned heads to see how Alex had reacted, to find her hand stretched out, two fingers pointing to the window. Some people whispered but quit it as Alex’s eyes met theirs, some were already pale and scared. Alex put her hand down, leaning on the back of the chair, not saying anything. Nea looked at Till, who had a smirk on his face.
“EVERYONE!” Quinton shouted from the puhemiehen jakkara. Final people took their seat and quieted down, Elite still standing.
“Now we will forget that little incident here and concentrade on the reason why we are here. As some of you know, our ‘job’ is to keep world and humanity going, and repair our ways of living. But now we are at the point where action needs to be taked, or there wont be return..” Mr. Quinton talked in firm and strong voice, no microphone were needed, the acoustics of the room were good too.
“It’s safe to talk about this with people out of The Order, because they are enchanted to not be able to speak, descripe, write or anything involving sharing thing talked about in this room. (small brake) Climate change. We’ve all heard of it. Most of us have felt it, seen it. Northern europe’s climate has been unstable for years now. Winter comes even more late but stays longer. This year, we had winter coming back *five* times in time of spring. Our summer was cold, but changed to hell hot in minutes, multiple times a day. There is no control. It is like a child playing with weather machine.” People hummed in agreement, some let out gasps.
“This weekend are the starting conferences where we depate what’s our act on this and how could we stop this. Permanent damage is still done, and for good enough change, it takes a lot. At this point it is NOT enough to shut the light off in room youre not in. NOT enough to take the puplic transport. NOT enough to use electric cars, because those polute more than you think. Our seas and lakes are full of trash and shit. Our forests arent green and fresh, they are white and aluminium from the paper and cans. Our streets are not from stone and asphalt, they are a carpet of cigarette stumps and candy wrappers. Our paper collection is full of cardboard, biowaste full of plastic. We are at dead end if we do not act on this.” Quinton nodded his head and sat down as aplodes and some ‘wohoo!’s were thrown. The elite has sat down, but cody and Alex walked on front of the puhemiehen jakkara. It was quiet again.
“Some of you might understand how bad the situtation is that even i am asked back to the elite. (naurahdus) I’ve been in my private life monitoring everything going on with nature and climate. Haven’t looked good in europe. My brother here, Mr. Fern has been looking in this on American and australian continent.” Alex said, stepping bit to the side, showing it’s cody’s turn to speak.
“Yes. Australia is always been known as hottest continent of them all, we spend our christmas swimming in the ocean. Lately, the heat has been even higher, but sometimes eye-catchingly low. America and Asia has been seeing a lot of tornados, or otherwise unnormally windy days.” Cody said. He got applauses. They went to sit and Till looked at Alex with somewhat sad smile.
‘rather be without the attention. Negative or positive or fake’ Alex said in Till’s AND neas and codys head. The conference kept going. Elite members spoke about their research, they didn’t rise from their seat tho. After it was over, and main theme was run thru Quinto went to the front and announced that we will have a 15 minute break, then elite and members will meat without companions.
“What will I do?” Was nea’s first question as they got to al’s and nea’s room’s balcony, all four. Everyone took a smoke but Alex stayed without, he had stopped vaping too.
“I can introduce you to a nice young girlfrien, like actaual lover, of my friend.” Cody said. “You two should discudd fashion and makeup, shes into those like you. Grab a coffee and so on.”
“Okay.” Nea said. Cody took his phone out and called his friend telling the situtation. He could hear the girl beaming at the other end. “Yeah meet us in front of the conference room in few. Yeah thanks bye.”
“You’ve got a date!” Till joked and got playfully slapped by nea. They got out of the room and Alex seemed worried all the way to the room.
“Hiii Cody so nice to see you like this.” A young woman with a side-cut and pretty punkish style said and hugged him. “Same to you, Sindy.”
“So this is nea?” She asked happily as she looked at nea. Nea nodded and they changed names. “I came with All-Alex here. I’m not he-his companion or nothing just friends.” Nea stammered. Sindy took a glaze at Alex and had a mixed look of disgust and shaming on her face, but turned back to nea smiling. “That’s so nice of *her*. I bet you’ll love it here!”
“Don’t trust what she says about Alex okay. She is amazing but some people cant get over things.” Cody whispered to nea and gave her a quick kiss. Alex looked away, kind of trying to leave out of the group but John saved it, going to Alex and greeting him happily, giving a hug. John and sindy changed a kiss and us men left to the room.
“Okay! What you wanna do first?” Sindy asked. “Maybe a coffee? But i have to get my purse from my room first.”
“Oh no honey youdont have to, they give us everything for free, Order pays.” Sindy said, taking nea’s hand and seeing their way to the coffee place on the top floor. They ordered special coffees and went to sit down to the outside balcony with mesmeraising view. They get to know each other. Sindy’s face seemed to flinch everytime nea mentioned Alex, but she decided not to ask.
“So... How do you feel about this all? Like how Alex just came to you and used some demonic power on you?” Sindy asked, secretly hoping to get something to spread a bad word.
“Well.. I got spooked a bit to be honest. But then again it was pretty cool. It happened fast but with good night’s sleep i feel like i got thru it. It’s kinda weird all this luxury and etiguette but i kinda like it. I wa slike S H O O K when i saw cody here and alex told that it was like in ahs. I think i died for a moment when he kissed my hand and all that flattering stuff. Do you mind if I smoke?”
“No I dont, John’s a smoker too. But I get you at the ccody oart. He is charming. I actually met john thru him. I’m a makeup artist on tv industry and as cody being a fashion hoe he is we turned out to be very good friends.” Sindy said. They starter talking about makeup, fashion, girly things, boys, best coffee places, everything between heaven and hell.
“You’re so lucky to get liked by the antichrist. Like we did have two of them as higher chanches but when cody became the only one it’s kinda been a sea of whispers within us girls. I feel like it’s a bigger thing for us humans, as all that power reveals to us as so unbeliveable, when the demon gurls already know that shit.” Sindy laughed. Nea’s phone buzzed and it was text from cody, the meeting was over.
“Wow, two hours passed like a train.” Nea said as they started to get going from the caffee. ‘Meet in your room, Alex is at Till’s 😉' Was a new text from cody. Nea showed it to Sindy.
“Ooohh.. You gotta get some! (laughing) Alex and Till is a weird thing tho. What’s with them?” Sindy said, asked nea as they were walking to the hallway of their rooms, damn big place it was.
“No idea. They seem pretty close but then again, it seems like they have much disagreements. And that chain thing. Last spring me and Alex had this joke where he had a long chain and wore it just like that on his neck and we joked that he is my dog, only within friend group tho.” Nea said laughing.
“She can be a weirdo sometimes. But like when you look at Till holding Alex in a chain it just so ruins this ‘Alex North the antichrist’ thing. Like if she is so powerfull and able to rule everything and everyone how is some basic demon, who is powerful tho, hold her under spell like submission.” Sindy said, it wasnt hateful kind of voice but more likely gossiping voice.
“Yeah, been thinking the same. But sometimes Alex seems to correct Till’s doings with strong hand.” Nea laughs, before sindy could have said anything else their boyfriends came to hug them. Cody took nea in his arms, and so did john to sindy. Alex and Till where nowhere to be seen. They all said byes and seperated to their rooms. Cody kept kissing nea who stopped him for a moment.
“What did you mean by beliving in what sindy said about Alex?” Nea asked, thurthfuly curious. They sat to the sofa.
“Well... I’m not sure if Alex showed you this story in the class but.. There’s two antichrist for a reason, on man and one woman. Historical books say that those two spawns of satan are to be united and give birth to a baby woth power of them both, and that baby is to be allmighty of earth heaven and hell. But.. Times have changed and our reason is not to rule the world as bad and sadistic beings anymore, it is not much about satan and blood. So being here on the new age, around mid 2000’s Alex had been very womanish, just like you right now (wink), but as a person and single minded he is, felt that he is wrong body. In that time our people still went with the runic writing, and the oder was just made, still in mind to have that almighty who would be the order himself. When Alex gave up the dresses and winged eyeliners people started to be worried how is the plan going. And just to add, there never was anything romantic with me and alex, it was one reason why i didn’t give a shit on his gender change, but helped him. The old war and hitman stuff hevied on his shoulder and he lost his sanity alltogether. He went back to cia, fbi whatever and offered to kill masses again. The people there used his power for their advantage and let him kill with bare hands, no need to snap fingers and lick the blood on the shoes as there was no chance he would die from too slow action. When the elite got to know that, Alex was ripped back and tortured for what he had done, used his power wrong, on eof the worst sins. When fbicia wanted him back, the elite took his physical soul (?????) and gave him anither body, as punishment, a girl, that you knew as Aino. He grew up without remembering anything of this, but bit by bit in the last 2 years the memories came back. Rembering the reason he was thrown out, he didnt want back by any chance. At the start of this summer, so happened anyway, because as he joked, the situtation is that bad.” Cody finished his story time. Took a glass of water that was on the table.
Nea didn't say anything. she processed it all. what the fuxk. my life is a lie.

At Elina’s new apartment
- Kuule, Elina. Minä oon kyllästynyt ajamaan taksia. Listen, Elina. I’m tired of being a taxi driver.
- Mikä sua kiinnostaa? What are you interested in?
- Jotain kaupallista. En vielä ole varma. Something commercial. I’m not sure yet.
- Jos mä autan sua. Etsitään sulle uusi työ. Mennään käymään meillä töissä. Mulla on nettiyhteydet. Mä katson verkosta. I’ll help you. Let’s find you a new job. Let’s go to my workplace. I have internet, I’ll check online.
Irja and Timppa are watching TV

- Ethän sinä edes katso sitä. You’re not even watching it.
- Kyllä minä katson. Of course I am.
- Niin varmaan katsoisit, jos olisit hereillä. Sure you would, if you were awake.
[Irja’s phone rings]
- Haloo! Ai, Ulla! Terve! Juu. Joudan, joudan. Vaikka heti. Tuletko sinä hakemaan? Ok. Hello? Oh, Ulla! Hi! Yes. I have time. Even now. Are you coming to get me? Okay.
- Lenkillekö olet menossa? Are you going jogging?
- Juu. Ullan kanssa. Se tulee hakemaan kohta. Yes, with Ulla. She’s coming over.
Elina and Saku are at the restaurant browsing job adverts
- Mennään ensin työvoimatoimiston sivulle. Sitten kohtaan “avoimet työpaikat”.  Let’s go to the job office’s website first. Then “open jobs”.
- Anna nyt kun minä. Let me do it.
- Sitten katsotaan työpaikatiedot. Tossa. Tän pitäis latautua nopeesti, mutta tää latautuu tosi hitaasti. Then let’s look at the job information. This should load fast, but it loads very slowly.
- Eihän nuo sivut edes ole raskaat. These sites are not even overloaded.
- Se vikaa on varmaan modeemissa. The error is surely with the modem.
- Niinpä kai. Probably.
Irja is getting ready to go out, Timppa is lying on the sofa.
- Kylläpä sinä olet väsynyt. You’re surely tired.
- Minä otan vain pienet nokkaunet. Just taking a little nap.
- Kyllä sinä olet epänormaalin väsynyt. Et kai sinä ole tulossa kipeäksi? Ei, kyllä minä nyt menen ja keitan sinulle kuumaa mustaherukkamehua. You’re unusually tired. Aren’t you getting sick? I’ll go and make you hot blackcurrant juice.
- Irja rakas. Mene nyt vaan sille lenkille. Irja darling. Go jogging.
- No minä menen. Hei hei. I’ll go. Bye.
Elina and Saku continue browsing
- Kaupallinen työ. Commercial job.
- Tossa. There.
- Annetaan lisää jotain hakuehtoja. Paikkakunta. Kuopio. Let’s add more search terms. Location: Kuopio.
- Menekinedistäjä. Telemarkkinoija. Joopa joo. Sales promoter. Telemarketer. Yeah, sure.
- Joo. Hyvä tulos. Pakko löytyä jotain. Ihan pakko. Hei, kato. Kauppaedustaja. Yes. Good result. We must find something. We really must. Hey, look! Sales representative.
- Ei! No!
Ulla and Irja are ready for their jogging
- Terve! Hi!
- Ai, terve! Onko täällä kylmä? Hi! Is it cold?
- Ei, just sopiva. No, just right.
- Timppa on vähän kipee. Tehdään vaan ihan lyhyt lenkki. Timppa is a bit sick. Let’s just take a quick walk.
- Mikäs sillä on? What’s wrong with him?
- En minä tiedä. Se on koko ajan väsynyt. I don’t know. He’s always tired.
- Kierretään vaikka toi puisto. Let’s walk around that park.
Still browsing...
- Sinulle sopisi tosi hyvin puku päälle. You would look great in a suit.
- Mulla on jo vaatteet päällä. I’m already wearing clothes.
- Voisit olla jonkin firman edustaja. Luksusautoja! You could be some firm’s representative. Luxury cars!
- Elina kiltti. Elina darling.
- Saisit sellaisen omaan käyttöön. You could get one to use yourself.
- Minä ajan jo hienolla autolla. I’m already driving a great car.
- Mennään Vehon sivulle, tai jonkin muun autofirman. Let’s go to Veho’s website or some other car company.
[Saku turns off the computer]
- Hei, hetkinen. Hey, wait!
- Elina, mä tiedän, että sä tarkoitat hyvää, mutta älä, rakas, yritä liikaa. Elina, I know you mean well, but darling, don’t try too much.
- Mä haluaisin vaan auttaa. I’d only like to help.
- Minä tiedän, mutta mä tykkään susta muutenkii. I know, but I like you anyway.
New words:

The Finnish 2021
Tumblr media
Finland are a misfortune country in the Eurovision Song Contest. They are remembered for their one winner (Lordi) and for the numerous times they have been last (nine times; 1963, 1965, 1968, 1980, 1982, 1990, 1992, 1996, 2009). I find it shameful because some of their songs are quite good, just overlooked. Like all countries, sometimes you wonder what they were thinking, sometimes that is said more frequently in Finland’s case. I blame Sweden for not being more neighbourly.
Finland is choosing their song contest via the UMK contest which has been used for a few years now. The date of the final is February 22, but they have commenced the release lyrical videos of the songs already. Aksel, who won last year, has returned after saying he was out. He promptly apologized and we all moved on. I am listening to them in the order they are being released.
OSKR “Lie” First cab off the rank is Oskr. The song is quiet and emotion, gentle and brilliant. There is a sadness that settles over the song because the lie is to keep someone else happy when there is turmoil and emptiness inside. Oskr has a lovely voice to suit the song and I can’t wait to hear the raw vocals presenting this.
Teflon Brothers x Pandora “I Love You” First off, what a wonderful joyful tune to listen to. It is upbeat and fun. It has a very predominant organ which brings a unique flavour to the entry. I really would have liked a better chorus though as the joyous rendition of ‘I love you’ shouldn’t really cut it in 2021.
Danny “Sinä päivänä kun kaikki rakastaa mua” When I saw this gentleman in the line up, I made the mistake of assuming this would be a filler entry as people of this age are not taken seriously in a national final. I was wrong. This entry is a very pleasant song which has humorous lyrics and a delicate presentation. May be too quite an entry to make much impact.
Laura “Play” ERR must have rejected this. Laura has had better songs and this one feels clumsy, and dated. I’m sure she will put on a show in the final that Finland has never seen before, but I’m not really feeling it. It seems like a re-hash of something she sang for Estonia already.
Aksel “Hurt” I think that the charm of Aksel is very smooth nice. Hurt is a different song to his song that of last year. This one is more acoustic and quieter, and it showcases his vocals very nicely. It builds nicely to a chorus of voices, and then it stops like they forgot what they were doing and it goes nowhere. Disappointing.
Blind Channel “Dark Side” This is a song to get the attention of everyone in the audience and the success and failure of the song will fall upon the live performance. It is great that Finland has put a diverse range of songs and this heavy sound and lyrics are a new take on a Eurovision song. I’d like to see this do well.
ILTA “Kelle mä soitan” The last of the Finns is a modern ballad. The music is very pleasant to with a very nicely sung lyric. The song is quite emotive and if ILTA can hit the notes, it may be a contender. I like it. Is it too generic? Maybe.
CONCLUSION:
I like a small selection of songs that are of a decent quality. Best song to represent Finland would be from either ILTA because it as safe choice. Would like to see Blind Channel win to ignite some interest in the song contest. I have a sneaky regard for OSKR‘s song because it is so truthful in it’s approach. Not discounting Aksel; his voice hypnotises.

Hello! Now that i have acquainted myself with the Bloody Beetroots music a bit I can't help but ask you to share your knowledge and thoughts on Volevo Un Gatto Nero if/whenever you feel like doing it. I am so confused.
Holy Christ you’re in for a ride.
Tumblr media
Alright. For anyone else reading this - not that I know why you’d, uh, want to - while the song referred to in the ask is ‘Volevo Un Gatto Nero (You Promised Me)’ (2013) by The Bloody Beetroots, I’m going to delve into the original ‘Volevo un gatto nero’ (1969) and its variants for most of this answer. The Bloody Beetroots’ version is a cover, and so can’t really be discussed without keeping the original song in mind, mostly because the history of this song since its release has been convoluted as heck. What a doozy this is going to be!
As you can see, the original is now nearly fifty years old. There’s an Italian children’s song festival called ‘Zecchino d'Oro’ that has been ongoing since 1959, and ‘Volevo un gatto nero’ (sung by Vincenza Pastorelli) was one of the entries for 1969. It tells a rather harrowing tale. I’ve bolded and underlined only this translated section, to indicate that it’s for the original.
Un coccodrillo vero un vero alligatore(A true crocodile, a real alligator)ti ho detto che l'avevo e l'avrei dato a te(I told you that I have it, and I’d have given it to you.)Ma i patti erano chiari: il coccodrillo a te(But the terms were clear: the crocodile, to you,)e tu dovevi dare un gatto nero a me(And you were meant to give me a black cat.)
Volevo un gatto nero, nero, nero(It was a black, black, black cat I wanted)mi hai dato un gatto bianco, e io non ci sto più(You gave me a white one; I won’t stand for it!)Volevo un gatto nero, nero, nero(It was a black, black, black cat I wanted)siccome sei un bugiardo con te non gioco più(Because you are a liar, I won’t play with you any more.)
Child, it’s just a cat! Jesus!! Chill out for a moment!!!
At least, I guess you’d be tempted to say that for just the first verse, but this child apparently also offers a giraffe and an Indian elephant and an entire zoo to obtain this one black cat. So the longer this song goes on, the more you have to sympathize with them - because, you know. It is a pretty rough deal! The song finally culminates in them snapping and vowing to just keep the cat - whether it be black or white (’ma insomma nero o bianco, il gatto me lo tengo’) - before they play take-backsies on the other gifts. You can’t really blame them. Nobody ends up getting exactly what they want, but the singing child still walks away with a new cat. And that’s why you keep your promises, children.
So far so good. The very same year, a version was recorded in Japan with completely different lyrics. The Japanese version is called ‘Kuroneko no Tango’ (’The Black Cat’s Tango’), and the first verse goes like this:
君はかわいい ぼくの黒ネコ(You are my cute black cat)赤いリボンが よくにあうよ(that red ribbon suits you well;)だけどときどき 爪を出して(but sometimes you show your claws)ぼくの心を 悩ませる(and you hurt my feelings)黒ネコのタンゴ タンゴ タンゴ(The black cat’s tango, tango, tango,)ぼくの恋人は黒いネコ(my lover is a black cat)黒ネコのタンゴ タンゴ タンゴ(The black cat’s tango, tango, tango,)ネコの目のように気まぐれよ(you’re as fickle as the gleam of cats’ eyes.)
And yeah, it does actually say ‘lover’ in the second line of the chorus. (The original word is 恋人, ‘koibito’.) No further comment to make on that.As you can see, it’s become a rather more cutesy, generic song under the Japanese influence, sung to the same tango tune but basically unrecognizable from the tale of bribery and betrayal depicted in the Italian original.
But the thing is.
This version got popular.
So popular, in fact, that since the time of the Japanese release, pretty much every foreign-language cover of ‘Volevo un gatto nero’ has talked about cute black cats and/or tangoes and/or the general amusing habits of cats - without having any semblance to the original. Faithful Italian covers of the song exist, of course, because it’s a song that’s been around for a long time and the tune has been recognizable in so many contexts as it is; in an excellent example of recursion, the Japanese singer MEG covered the song in the original Italian in 2012, too. (Listen to it here.) But even so, when you hear the tune of ‘Volevo un gatto nero’ and it’s not in the Italian, the popularity of the Japanese version and other circumstances have ensured over the past decades that you are almost 100% certainly not going to hear a tale about crocodile bartering. It’s the Japanese version that’s being homaged most of the time, like for example in the Finnish version (’Mustan Kissan Tango’).
Jos mustan kissan saisin, mä sitä tansittaisin.(If I would get a black cat, I’d make it dance.)Sen mustan kissan tassut ne sitten hassut on!(Then the black cat’s paws would be funny!)Kun pitkän narun päähän mä laitan paperin,(When I put paper on a long string,)niin kissa tanssii aivan tangon askelin!(the cat dances with the tango rhythm!)
Hei, tanssi kissa tango, tango, tango,(Hey, the cat dances tango, tango, tango,)  nyt mustan kissan tanssi sen ikioma on!(now it’s the cat’s very own dance!)Soi mustan kissan tango, tango, tango,(Play the black cat’s tango, tango, tango,)se japanista lensi tänne meillekin.(it flew from Japan to us.)
Bolded for meta-commentary. This version’s pretty self-aware, at least. (It’s also the single most catchiest version of this song for me, but your mileage may definitely vary.) As far as covers of ‘Volevo un gatto nero’ go, ‘Mustan Kissan Tango’ and ‘Kuroneko no Tango’ relate to each other very well, but not so much to the original.Still better than the French version (’Je Veux Vivre Tango’):
Mes parents exagèrent, ils ne me comprennent pas(My parents exaggerate, they do not understand me)  Et parfois j'ai les nerfs noués au bout des doigts(and sometimes I have nerves tied at the fingertips)Pour aller a l'école je me lève à 6 heures(To go to school I wake up at six o'clock)Et j'ai les yeux qui collent et j'ai les yeux qui pleurent(and I have eyes that stick, and I have eyes that weep)
Moi je veux vivre tango, tango, tango,(I want to live [a] tango, tango, tango,)mais mon père et ma mère sont toujours après moi.(but my father and mother are always after me.)Moi je veux vivre tango, tango, tango,(I want to live [a] tango, tango, tango,) vraiment ils exagèrent, ah quels parents j'ai là(they really exaggerate, ah, what parents I have here!)
… That’s… not even…. remotely close to… Ah, never mind.
As for why I know so much about this one song, it’s because the Korean version (or versions) was quite popular when it came out. I know of it in two forms, the children’s song version in 1970 and a rather poplike version by a group called Turbo. The latter is what most people my age remember, but the title remains the same: ‘Black Cat Nero’.We’ve actually kept the ‘nero’ aspect of ‘Volevo un gatto nero’, but in Korean that’s merely a name, so I don’t know if that counts as particularly faithful to the original. Still has the black cat, though.
그대는 귀여운 나의 검은 고양이(You are my cute black cat)새빨간 리본이 멋지게 어울려(That scarlet ribbon suits you well)그러나 어쩌다 토라져 버리면(But if you end up sulking somehow)얄밉게 할퀴어서 마음 상해요(you scratch out of spite, it’s very hurtful)검은 고양이 네로 네로 네로([My] black cat Nero, Nero, Nero,)귀여운 나의 친구는 검은 고양이(my cute friend is a black cat)검은 고양이 네로 네로 네로([My] black cat Nero, Nero, Nero,)이랬다 저랬다 장난꾸러기(you’re full of mischief all over.)
I like to think of the Korean versions as a synthesis of the Italian original and the Japanese cover, I guess. We’ve done our best with what was given, even though the ultimate final result just reads like a translation of the latter for most part. I’m sure the 1970 version was a direct reaction to ‘Kuroneko no Tango’, anyway, so it was inevitable. Also, you may have not needed to know this at all, but the ‘[my] black cat Nero’ (’검은 고양이 네로’ / ‘geomeun goyangi nero’) part is an excellent mondegreen in Korean for ‘gum is made of cat brains’ (’껌은 고양이 뇌로’). The sheer amount of playground bullshit I and so many other kids sat through over this one mondegreen is unbelievable. I couldn’t forget this song if you paid me to. Should I fall into a coma one day and lose all my memories, I will bet that this is still the one song that will remain in the depths of my mind, its claws sunk in like… like, well, a cat, I suppose. What gives.
Anyway. I could go on and on, but I really need to approach the question of what The Bloody Beetroots made of the song. And to be quite honest with you, I think this is one of the most truthful covers of ‘Volevo un gatto nero’ out there, not just because of the translation but because it preserves the intent and emotion of the original pretty much dead on. The song only makes use of the chorus bit, but take a look.
You promised me Bob Rifo, Rifo, Rifo, you gave me some fake muso, and not the one that’s real. You promised me Bob Rifo, Rifo, Rifo, you’re such a little liar, you don’t know how I feel!HOLY SHIT
Isn’t that perfect? Though it’s done away with black cats, the rest of the lyrics can basically pass for a translation of the Italian original, if you allow for the rhymes! While other covers go on about tangoes or cutesy cats, The Bloody Beetroots’ cover has kept the ‘you promised me x but delivered y instead, and I ain’t having it’ part of the original, which is the central argument of the song. So this cover is still telling a story about a deal unfulfilled, complete with calling the other person a liar. I’d say that the emotion and general tone of the narrative has been kept in those lines.
The chorus alone isn’t the only well-adapted part of this cover, either. If you listen to the rest of the song, you hear interjections of ‘FUCK YOUUUUUUU’ during a couple of points, and while the original singer of ‘Volevo un gatto nero’ -Vincenza Pastorelli - was far too young to express the song’s emotions in such strong language on national television, I think it’s a pretty adequate summary of the song’s intended message. I mean, I don’t know about y’alls, but the anguish of not receiving the Bob Rifo that I ordered and being forced to accept an inferior substitute would fairly piss me off too, I think. And so would the idea of not being able to get my promised cat after resorting to extortionate bribery, in fact - just like the Italian original. The sound of a child bursting into tears at the very end of The Bloody Beetroots’ cover is just the icing on top.
Sure, it’s not a direct translated cover of the Italian, and it’s like 10000x more hardcore than the children’s song it was meant to be, but I reckon these elements I’ve just pointed out are not accidental. Cover versions of songs change lyrics all the time - even though I’ve spoken of the covers listed here with bewilderment for most of the post, I do hold sincere affection for most of them, and they were all excellent hits in their respective countries - but I do think it speaks well of faithfulness to source material, if you preserve most of it as it already stands. ‘Volevo un gatto nero (You Promised Me)’ delivers on that for the chorus, and keeps the emotions of the original intact despite not having lyrics for the other 70-80% that it missed out.
I’m so, so happy about that. I think that’s amazing. And with that, that’s ‘Volevo un gatto nero’ for you. :D
tl;dr: Sir Cornelius Bob Rifo is somehow the one person who managed to make the most faithful foreign-language cover of a fifty year old song, due to numerous mistranslations and variants of said song becoming more popular than the original.
Oh, yeah. And it’s, like… freakin’ metal.

Best Hotels in Cinque Terre for Every Budget – Wild Junket Adventure Travel Blog
A complete guide on where to stay in Cinque Terre and the best hotels in Cinque Terre.
Pastel colored houses cling to the cliffs, that are lined with green terraced vineyards. The smell of fresh seafood fills the air as throngs of crowds gather at the harbor to watch sunset. A musician plays the accordion on the town’s piazza (square), his music echoed by the sound of the crashing waves.
We are in Cinque Terre, my favorite part of Italy. Poised along the Ligurian coast of northwestern Italy, Cinque Terre is as dreamy as Italy can get. Made up of 5 fishing towns, Cinque Terre is a collection of picturesque villages backdropped by the indigo sea.
Because of the poetic setting, Cinque Terre is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site which draws in a crazy 2.4 million visitors a year. The five villages are no longer the isolated hamlets they once were, but there’s still a feeling of authenticity, with perfectly preserved architecture and a network of stunning trails.
Where to Stay in Cinque Terre
What are the Cinque Terre Towns?
The five towns that make up Cinque Terre are Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, Riomaggiore.
What makes them so appealing is their isolated geographic location.  The Cinque Terre villages were literally built at the foot of mountains that separated the coastline from the interior. Today the villages’ exquisite ruggedness still presents a few challenges for accessibility.
Each town in Cinque Terre has a unique flavor and flair. If you want to visit all five of them, I recommend picking one town as your home base and visiting the other towns on day trips. They are so close it only takes 5-10 minutes to get from one to another.
Why You Should Stay in Cinque Terre
Cinque Terre is extremely popular with day trippers — there are many day tours to Cinque Terre from Florence and La Spezia. However, we definitely don’t recommend doing a day trip here as it’s worth staying overnight and spending 3-4 days exploring the 5 towns.
Staying in Cinque Terre means you don’t have to travel in each day. Plus, you get to experience the villages at their most authentic. In the evenings after the daytrippers leave, the atmosphere changes and the villages revert to their true self. The early morning is just as brilliant: Wake up before the daytrippers come and you’ll have the whole village to yourself.
For those who are wondering where to stay in Cinque Terre, this is a detailed guide with recommendations on the best Cinque Terre town to stay for different type of travelers and the best hotels in Cinque Terre ranging from budget hotels to family-friendly apartments and honeymoon suites.
Things to Know About Hotels in Cinque Terre
Accommodation is very limited here as the Cinque Terre towns are tiny. Plus Cinque Terre is a national park and UNESCO World Heritage Site, so new construction is not allowed.
Because of the popularity of the area, Cinque Terre hotels are overpriced. Even simple, old-fashioned guesthouses are priced around $150/night. I recommend booking your accommodation as early as possible as they get filled up very fast, especially in summer.
If you plan on renting a car in Italy, be aware that most Cinque Terre towns only have pedestrianized streets and parking is a nightmare. Few hotels have carparks and even if they do, they’re expensive (we paid 15 euros/day). It’s best to park your car in La Spezia or Levanto.
TIP: If the prices of hotels in Cinque Terre are beyond your budget, I recommend staying in La Spezia, Levanto or Portovenere. Read these alternative accommodation options.
What to Look for When Booking Cinque Terre Hotels
It’s important to know that most of the Cinque Terre towns are built around hill slopes and they have steep walks and stairs to navigate. If you don’t want to be lugging your suitcases up slopes, look for hotels that are near the train stations or close to the seafront.
Also there are no big hotels here — they are mostly apartments and intimate boutique hotels. Most don’t have facilities like swimming pool or parking space. If you need a pool, stay at one of the alternative towns outside of Cinque Terre (skip to the section).
We splurged on a luxury apartment in Manarola (paid $250/night), steps from the harbor. We aren’t normally those who like to be in the centre of the action, but I loved being able to wander down to the water in the morning. Even at 8.30am, the town was absolutely quiet and I could walk along the coastal path and enjoy the viewpoints all to myself.
Should I Stay at One or More Cinque Terre Towns?
The five Cinque Terre towns are so close together and well connected by train (it ONLY takes 5-10 minutes to get from one town to another). I recommend staying at one town throughout your time in Cinque Terre — there’s no point in changing hotels and staying at a different town each day.
The Cinque Terre Express train is a regular and cheap service, running daily from before the sunrise and till 1 a.m. It is very easy to navigate and trains run very often.
A single ticket costs € 4 per adult. Or you can get the Cinque Terre Card, which provides unlimited train travel and access to the hiking trails. It lasts one day (16 €) or two days (29 €).
Which is the Best Cinque Terre Town to Stay?
Now that’s the most popular question I get asked: which is the best Cinque Terre town to stay at?
You probably know by now, I don’t think there’s one answer to this sort of question. It really depends on what type of traveler you are and what you’re looking for.
Best Cinque Terre town for different types of travelers (in my opinion):
Manarola — We chose to stay at Manarola, mainly because of the views. It has the most stunning backdrop right at the waterfront, on an easy walk along the coast (which is important since we’re traveling with a toddler).
Monterosso — This is the biggest town, with a beautiful beach right within easy reach. It also has the widest range of accommodation from big chain hotels to small guesthouses. It’s suitable for those with mobility issues as the town is mostly flat.
Corniglia — The only town perched on a hilltop, Corniglia is the least popular of the Cinque Terre towns mainly due to its location. But it is perfect for those looking for the most authentic experience, at the best prices.
Best Hotels in Cinque Terre
As mentioned, the prices of hotels in Cinque Terre are higher than in other parts of Italy, especially in high season (summer: June to August). Here is a rough gauge of hotel prices at shoulder season:
Budget: less than $100/night
Midrange: $150-250/night
Luxury: more than $300/night
Honeymoon: more than $500/night
Riomaggiore: Where to Stay in Cinque Terre for Romance
The first stop on most Cinque Terre itinerary is Riomaggiore, the closest town to the gateway La Spezia. If you’re coming to Cinque Terre after a long flight, then make this your base. In my opinion, it has the most romantic setting.
It is also the starting point of hikers who are here to trek the 75 miles (120 km) of trails along the coast. Riomaggiore’s main attraction is the Via dell’Amore trail, translated to mean “The Way of Love”. Unfortunately it has been closed due to a major landslide since 2012.
Best Hotels in Riomaggiore
Budget: L’Arcobaleno Affittacamere
This budget hotel is housed in a renovated 19th-century farm. It’s located close to the highway, quite a distance to the beach/harbor but it is one of the cheapest and most value-for-money options in Riomaggiore.

Midrange: Agave Room Rental
Perched on the hills overlooking the harbor, this midrange property offers excellent seafront location for good prices. It’s located right by the beach, but prepare to climb some steps. It has a communal hot tub!

With the best view in Riomaggiore, this high-end apartment is a few steps from the beach. The patio opens up to spectacular views of the town, that iconic image you see in postcards around Riomaggiore. The loft apartment has hard wood flooring and brand new, slick white furniture.
Check the rates here.
Family: Il Mare di Ada
Few apartments/hotels in Riomaggiore are as big as this one. This 2-bedroom apartment has enough space for a family of 4 and has a living room as well as fully equipped kitchen. It also promises equally stunning views as the hotels above.
Check the rates here.
Manarola: Where to Stay in Cinque Terre for Best Views
For me, this is hands down the most beautiful town in Cinque Terre. The colorful historical buildings slide down all the way to the rocky harbor, which can be admired from an easily walkable loop along the coast.
The town is most famous for wine production. You can even hike up to the grapevines on the slopes above the town. Don’t miss Punta Bonfiglio, a short uphill hike, with fabulous views and a playground with a bar.
We are very glad to have chosen to stay in Manarola. Every morning, before my family awoke (at 8ish), I wandered the narrow lanes, enjoying the village all to myself. There was hardly anyone, save for the friendly fishermen who were heading out to sea.
Best Hotels in Manarola
Budget: Cà de Angelo
Located around a 16-minute walk from Riomaggiore Beach, the guesthouse is close to the train station and main street. Most importantly, there are not too many steps to get there. Rooms are on the small end, but most have patios.
Check the rates here.
Midrange: Luxury Apartment Manarola
This apartment rental company has a few apartments throughout Manarola. We stayed at their 2-bedroom apartment located on the main pedestrianized street just a few steps from the harbor. The all-white design of the apartment was avant-garde and the location was excellent, though it was slightly noisy at night.
Check the rates here.
Luxury: La Toretta Lodge
Located close to the entrance of the village just 500m from the train station, this stylish lodge is set in a converted Medieval tower. Its stylish rooms and hot tub offer views of the Ligurian Sea and contemporary artwork. They offer a free aperitif every evening.
Check the rates here.
Honeymoon: The First – Il Sogno di Manarola
One of the best hotels in Cinque Terre, this ultra luxury hotel is an exclusive and intimate hotel with just 2 royal honeymoon suites and 1 room. Enjoy sunsets right from your seaview terrace and also private personal concierge service from the staff.
Check the rates here.
Family: L’Artista Terraces & Views Apartment
Possibly the biggest property you’ll find in Manarola, this 3-bedroom apartment is found on the top floor of a building perched on the seafront. It has capacity for 6 people. Art is everywhere, every corner of this house speaks out the owner’s artistic flair. But it’s a steep climb up here: 58 steps from Piazza Castello.
Check the rates here.
Corniglia: Where to Stay in Cinque Terre for Tranquility
Sitting atop a 100m-high rocky promontory surrounded by vineyards, Corniglia is the only village that lacks direct access to the sea. You’ll need to climb 382 steps to get there from the train station (along the coast).
Corniglia is the smallest of the Cinque Terre towns, characterized by tangled alleys, hilly terraces and bohemian cafes. For the best views, hike up to Santa Maria panoramic terrace and see the whole town from above.
For most, Corniglia lacks the coastal appeal that draws so many to Cinque Terre. But that also means it is the most authentic and least crowded of them all, and prices of hotels are the most reasonable here.
Best Hotels in Corniglia
Budget: Affittacamere La Torre
With a great location in the heart of Corniglia, this guesthouse is simple and traditional. It is literally steps from well-rated restaurants and shops. The main star of the show is the rooftop terrace that overlooks the sea.

Midrange: La Torre Apartments
Overlooking a busy square in Corniglia, La Torre apartments are spacious and modern. There are two choices: the deluxe apartment has two big bedrooms and sleeps up to 4. The apartment with sea view has one bedroom and a sofa bed, but note that it does not have airconditioning.
Check the rates here.
Luxury: Attic Outstanding View
One of the best hotels in Corniglia, this 2-storey attic apartment has two contemporary bedrooms and enough space for a family of 4. It is in a quiet location away from the town, but still within easy reach. The superb terrace has 360 degree view of the coast and Corniglia.
Check the rates here.
Honeymoon: Luxury Penthouse Sea View
The most luxurious hotel in Corniglia is a penthouse apartment located in Taragio Square. It is housed in a newly restored building that’s the highest in the center of Corniglia. Expect unobstructed views in your own private rooftop terrace.
Check the rates here.
Family: Affittacamere Le Terrazze
Those looking for more traditional flavors would like this quaint country-style inn. For big families, you can get a three-bedroom apartment here that sleeps up to 7 people. It’s a 10-minute walk from the Corniglia train station.
Check the rates here.
Vernazza: Where to Stay in Cinque Terre for Best Hikes
Another hot favorite among travelers, Vernazza is a medium-sized town with a central location in Cinque Terre. The main square is located right by the harbor, flanked by multi-hued buildings and dome-roofed chapels. But I found this town to be the most crowded.
Get away from the crowds by climbing up the steps to the watch tower of Doria Castle, where you can catch panoramic views of Vernazza. The town has a marina and a small beach where you can catch a boat or take a dip in.
I recommend hikers who intend to hike the Cinque Terre trails to stay here, as it is the most convenient starting point. Even if you’re not planning on doing long hikes, hit the trail above Vernazza to get the best views of the town.
Best Hotels in Vernazza
Budget: Affittacamere Tonino Basso
This is one of the cheapest hotels in Vernazza and has a great location in a quiet yet easily reachable part of town. It is an easy up-hill 5-minute walk from the Vernazza train station, and it has an elevator to 3rd floor rooms.
Check the rates here.
Midrange: Hotel Gianni Franzi
Located right below Vernazza’s famous Doria Castle, this traditional hotel is suitable for those seeking old-world Italy. The rooms feature terracotta floors and antiques, but are in need of a revamp. Be warned: you’ll need to climb quite a lot of steps to get here!
Check the rates here.
Luxury: Tedea Apartment
Located along the main street, this luxury 2-bedroom apartment is massive and designed with a mix of modern and tradition. Steps from the Vernazza beach, it is located on the famous Palazzo delle Cinque Dita.
Check the rates here.
Honeymoon: Fivestay Casa Gabriella
One of the most stylish hotels in Cinque Terre, this 3-bedroom penthouse apartment is tastefully designed with high-end furnishing and a grey-and-white palette. Just steps away from the Vernazza Beach, you can’t get a better location than this.
Check the rates here.
Family: Apartments Le Terrazze
Located slightly outside of the tourist town, this property is on a quiet area still within easy reach of the center. It is housed in a big villa made up of two 2-bedroom apartments. Choose the ground level apartment to have a big garden with lots of space for your kids to run around. Sleeps up to 6!

Monterosso: Where to Stay in Cinque Terre for Beaches
Monterosso al Mare (commonly shortened to Monterosso) is the best town in Cinque Terre for beach bums. It is the only village that has a proper strip of beach, which was beautiful and surprisingly empty during our visit in May.
This is the Cinque Terre town that most families choose to stay at, not just for the beach but also for the flat terrain. For those traveling Cinque Terre with kids, Monterosso has a nice, large playground close to the beach with an attached cafe.
The town also has a vibrant culinary scene serving up fresh seafood. I found the restaurants in Monterosso to be some of the best and most affordable.
Best Hotels in Monterosso
Budget: La Casa sul Mare – Monterosso
It’s hard to find a room for less than $100/night in Cinque Terre — this hotel offers great value for a good price. Located on the beachfront and just a 8-min walk from the old town, this is one of the best hotels in Cinque Terre for budget travelers.
Check the rates here.
Midrange: Hotel Villa Adriana
You can’t get a better location than this. Just 100 m from Fegina Beach and 450m from the train station, this hotel is a short walk from all the interesting spots. It has a pool (rare find!), palm tree garden and classically designed rooms.
Check the rates here.
Luxury: Hotel Porto Roca
With a cliff-top location, this heritage hotel (pictured below) has mindblowing views of the Liguarian Sea. The elegant villa has an infinity pool, lush gardens and several terraces. The Cinque Terre’s famous Blue Trail starts here and it’s a 5-min walk from the center.
Check the rates here.
Honeymoon: Bellambra
Set in a newly renovated 14th-century building, Bellambra is located on the more picturesque side of Monterosso. The stylish rooms combine classic furnishings and wood-beamed ceilings with contemporary designs. Some feature views over lemon gardens, while others face the historical center and olive groves.
Check the rates here.
Family: Villa Tanca Luxury Collection
If you’re a big family looking to stay together in a villa, this is the best choice in Cinque Terre. Rarely will you find such a big villa. Located a few steps from Monterosso Old Town Beach, Villa Tanca Luxury Collection has 5 bedrooms, a living room, a dining area and 3 bathrooms.
Check the rates here.
Alternatives Outside of Cinque Terre
Hotels in Cinque Terre can be expensive and limited in availability. So if you are looking for more budget-friendly places to stay, I recommend staying at one of the towns near Cinque Terre.
The closest towns are La Spezia and Levanto, on the southern and northern ends of Cinque Terre. Both are just a 10-minute train ride from Cinque Terre, on the same train line that passes through the five towns.
Yes, it’s not the same staying in these towns as in Cinque Terre. You won’t have panoramas of pastel-colored houses backdropped by the blue sea. But if you are only interested in exploring and accommodation isn’t important, then check out these hotels.
La Spezia: Where to Stay Near Cinque Terre
La Spezia is the best place to stay near Cinque Terre for the budget conscious. You can find budget hotels for $50/night and luxury apartments for $130/night right next to the train station. If the logistics stress you up, you can also book a day tour to Cinque Terre from La Spezia for as little as $50.
It’s only a 7-minute train ride from Riomaggiore, the closest town in Cinque Terre. It is a big city and a destination on its own: with a big port, a charming old town and no shortage of trattorias serving the finest Ligurian cuisine.
Best Hotels in La Spezia
Budget: Lia Apartment
Located next to the train station, this apartment is perfect for those planning to explore as much of Cinque Terre as possible. It is also within an 8-minute walk of Saint George’s Castle. Rooms are the right size, though the mattresses are quite thin.
Check the rates here.
Midrange: Affittacamere Casa Dane’
We almost booked this apartment, but decided to splurge and stay in Cinque Terre instead. This place is conveniently located next to the train station and offers free bikes for exploring La Spezia. Rooms are luxurious and stylish, with air conditioning (important from May to Oct!)
Check the rates here.
Luxury: Hotel Firenze e Continentale
Set in a renovated historic building, this luxury hotel stands just 50 m away from the train station. With regal European style rooms, the upscale hotel offers carpark and an excellent breakfast. It is suitable for those seeking luxury with a good price tag.
Check the rates here.
Honeymoon: Le Ville Relais
Those looking for an affordable honeymoon spot will love this intimate boutique hotel that boasts a private location. Housed in 2 Ligurian villas, the hotel is perched on a mountaintop overlooking the harbor. Don’t miss dining at their Michelin 2019 award winning restaurant.
Check the rates here.
Family: Cinque Terre Decor
Just 500m from La Spezia ferry port, this 2-bedroom apartment sleeps up to 8 people and has a fully furnished kitchen and comfortable living space. Excellent for families who want to explore La Spezia besides Cinque Terre.
Check the rates here.
Levanto: Where to Stay Near Cinque Terre
Levanto is a popular beach town with a long sandy beach, and a charming old town. This town is perfect for those who want to stay in the countryside, in a Ligurian mansion surrounded by pine forests, olive groves, and vineyards.
Levanto is a 5-minute train ride from Monterosso al Mare, the closest town in Cinque Terre. Rooms are slightly more expensive than in La Spezia, with budget hotels starting at $70/night and luxury apartments for $170/night. You can also book private tours to Cinque Terre from Levanto.
Best Hotels in Levanto
Budget: Creuza de Legnà
For those who want peace and quiet, this is the dream spot in the countryside. Rooms are incredibly affordable at this beautiful villa located in a mountain village, around a 10-minute drive from Levanto train station. Most guests park their car at the train station and take the train into Cinque Terre.
Check the rates here.
Midrange: The Hotel Nazionale
Set in the heart of Levanto, this family-run hotel is close to the beach and located within the city centre. It combines traditional elegance with contemporary design. Its best feature is the panoramic roof terrace.
Check the rates here.
Luxury: Al Terra di Mare
Situated above Levanto, the door to the Cinque Terre, Al Terra di Mare is an eco-friendly and solar-powered property built in the style of a Ligurian hamlet, surrounded by vineyards and olive-trees. The hotel is a 15-min ride from the Levanto train station, but it provides a shuttle service.
Check the rates here.
Honeymoon: Park Hotel Argento
This hotel could be a good enough reason to stay at Levanto instead of Cinque Terre. It’s a rare large-scale hotel with a beautiful outdoor hydromassage pool and a wellness center that guests are free to use. It includes a Turkish bath, water relaxation area and sauna.
Check the rates here.
Family: Casa Mantegna
Right in the heart of Levanto Old Town, this 3-bedroom apartment is just a few minutes’ walk to the train station and beach. It is well priced and sleeps up to 5 people. The history of the place also gives it lots of character.
Check the rates here.

7. Syyskuuta. 2019 (2/3)
“There’s mich to catch on. Would you like to tell me.” Till said to Alex, holding out his hand to be grapped on. Nea wondered if it is the same thing that Alex did to her in the classroom yesterday.
“I don’t think it’s tolerant to do this here.” Alex answered. Till gave him a hard look.
“Last time i did this to Nea the convulsion was pretty hard. I haven’t really been active on my powers.” Alex told. “She is a regular human so no wonder. I can also go in and read.”
“No way. Okay. No hiding, everything out.” Alex said and took Till’s hand. Nobody paid attention to them. It was casual to close friends to vaihtaa kuulumiset this way if they hadn’t seen in long time. Nea waoted for the same show that happened in class. This time only eyes went black and veins were slighty seen black. Again it was over in matter of seconds.
“What the hell…” Till breathed out. He had worried, almost scared expression on his face.
“Wow. You’ve had a nice few years.” Alex smiled, it seemed fake but she said that in true means.
“What the fuck did they do to you?” Till asked.
“Don’t wanna talk about physically nor by mind so yeah. Mind getting me a drink?” Alex answered brushing it off. Till shrugged and went to get himself a shotnand Alex some lemonade.
“Mitäs vittua?” Nea hämmästeli. “Onks tää joku julkimo meet and greet.”
“Ei. Mähä selitin sulle eilen sen*. Mä ja Till ollaan tunnettu vuosia iha privaatissaki ja Codynki.” Allu selitti.
*Mitä julkkiksista sanottiin introssa
Till came back with the drink and handed it to Alex who thanked in Deutsch.
“Waait.. Are you and Till like you know…” Cody tried to hold back a laugh with a smile, “Or like have been. I mean like no shame I can totally see you two being that because you both are so damn wicked but like holy shit that size differense.” Cody rambled but quit smiling as Alex looked at him with black eyes.
“Just that.. Krhm…” Cody viittasi siihen kuinka Tillin (omg tilli) kösi oli Allun lantiolla.
“Oh well yeah there has been few encaunters with me and Alex by those me-”
“None of any of yours business okay.” Alex was getting red herself and punched half play fully Till’s thigh for saying too much.
“You two seem like a couple eh?” Till said looking at Nea and Cody.
“We just met but thank you.” Cody smiled and put his hand on nea’s shoulder, Nea blushed and looked down.
“Krhm! May I have your attention please!” A tall man in expensive suit said in strickt voice. Everyone quieted down and turned to look at him.
“It’s amazing to see all of you here. And I’m happy that more of you have taken your loved one with you. My name is Mr Quinton. I am your host this weekend. (nyt on siis perjantai). I’d like to clear out our schedule if I may.” Quinton said and took a folded paper from his pocket and opened it.
“Tonight will it be free for all of you. It is always good to catch up with friends and collagues am I right. Just a slight reminder with pure love to everyone new in these circles to follow our etiquette outside your private rooms and respect the fact that these walls aren’t soundproof.” The man gave out a small laugh and almost everyone chuckled too, other’s bit embarassed by the note.
“Saturday, 8.30 is breakfast privately in canteen for an hour. Ten o’clock we all, comapnions including, will meet in conferense room three, for 45minutes. 11 o’clock the Elite will meet in said room for two hours. Other members and companions can spend their time in hotel’s spa, here in this room or in your own hotel rooms. 13.30 Will be lunch privately in canteen. 15.15 to 18.00 will be Elite and other members meeting in room 3. 18.15 will be dinner again privately in canteen. Then rest of the evening is free, but don’t drink yourself to hangover. We will discuss sunday’s schedule tomorrow. You will have a copy of dresscodes and schedule in your rooms. I would like to thank you all for your time and wish you a glad evening.” Mr. Quinton ended his speech and the room filled with soft applaus.
“Onks toi niiku joku iso pomo?
“Eliitti on nimensä mukaisesti Eliitti. Siihen kuuluu vaikutusvallaltaan ja ‘voimaltaan’ vahvimmat. Toisin sanoen viisi maailman vaikutusvaltaisinta liikemiestä, Quinton, kolme vahvinta ‘demonia’ ja sitten lol antikristukset minä ja cody.” Allu naurahti sanalle.
“No mites sit ne muut jäsenet ku tääl on aika paljo porukkaa. Eiks Lindemann oo eliittiä?” t nea nyt vttu
“Ei ole. Muut jäsenet on ns.
“Anyone interested to kidnap few bottles of wine and soda (looks at alex and nea) and go to one of ours room to, talk bit more loosely.” Till asked. Cody agreed and Alex laughed at Till’s correction/add.
The four took a bottle of vintage wine bottle (only one) and sixpack of coca-cola from under the buffet table. Dammit allu.
They all went to Till’s room and sat down on the couch. Till and Alex automatically undressing out of the top formal wear and sighing as they threw them on the bed and sat down too.
“Mikäs se oli!?” Nea said laughing as she and allu openeed their cola cans. The men looking at each other and shrugging.   “we all gotta seemingly have our own secret language.” Cody laughed.
“Yeah totally. Me and nea have finnish, with Till I have Deutch, Cody and Till have their alpha language (vitullinen nauru kohtaus kaikille).” Alex said
“And- And Cody and Nea will have the unspoken language of love am i right.” Till alkaa vituulisen räkätyksen allun kaa ja nea on vitun awkward ku cody vaa hymyilee ja siemailee wiiniä kattoen neaa.
Allu- Huomaa codyn katseen neaa kohti. “Till can i sleep here tonight.” allu nauro viitaten että nuorella parilla ois villi yö
Till- “Oh yess you can i won’t mind a bit.” naurua ja wannabe flirtti ääni
Nea- “why couldn’t i be in cody’s room tho.” nea sano viattomasti katsoen allua ja tilliä (fhoewjgow äää) kuin heidän välillään ei missään nimessä voisi olla mitään.
Cody- “Because I'm sharing a room with my close actor friend.” Taas perus hymy vittu mies sä oot mysteerinen.
“oh” nea said and drank cola. “Till I'm still a lazy bastard do you have any pants i could borrow for a while, these leather ones arent the most comfortable pair.” Alex asked already standing up.
“I like them on you. I mean they aren’t really most comfortable to me neither if ya know what i mean. “ And till slapped alex butt. It was hared slap than a person woud jokingly give to other but it was till and alex so it was verrattavissa to small pet on butt. Alex slapped till on the back of his head and went to go thru his luggage.
Cody- “Is it always like that?” Cody asked half seriously but still laughing too
Till- “Well... Yes kind of.”
Allu tuli takaisin itseasiassa pelkällä isolla t-paidalla takaisin.
“are you fucking serious you iterally dont have any manners.” Till said and checked alex out.
Allu: “Well all your pants were like bed sheets for me. Nea has seen me in my underwear million times even as i was literally vomit drunk so doesn’t matter.”
Till- “Yes but there is a another male in this room. Who happens to be almost as powerful as you.” Somehwat jealousy and a need to own someonedrpped thru his voice.
Allu- “key word Almost. And he doesn’t have time to look at me with AnOtHeR wOmAn in this room.” ouuuuuu
Nea gave alex a glare. “Hei mä yritän vaan saada sulle munaa dont blame me.” Allu sanoi ja nea ei pystynyt edes esittämään vihaista.
Nyt venyy kyllä jo kolmi osaseks huhuh...

Honeymoon: The First – La Vista di Marina
With the best view in Riomaggiore, this high-end apartment is a few steps from the beach. The patio opens up to spectacular views of the town, that iconic image you see in postcards around Riomaggiore. The loft apartment has hard wood flooring and brand new, slick white furniture.

For those who want peace and quiet, this is the dream spot in the countryside. Rooms are incredibly affordable at this beautiful villa located in a mountain village, around a 10-minute drive from Levanto train station. Most guests park their car at the train station and take the train into Cinque Terre.
