one thing i love about motionless in white is that every single one of their releases contains some sort of reference to previous material. some of the lyrics on the whorror are taken from the demo. two whorror tracks got rerecorded for the full-length when love met destruction. six tracks from that full-length got rerecorded as the wlmd ep. creatures has a remake of a song from the whorror, two songs from the scrapped wlmd lp, plus the title track has the chorus from the wlmd title track. infamous has part 2 of the puppets series that creatures started. reincarnate then has part 3 plus unstoppable as an underdog sequel, and the acoustic version of sinematic. graveyard shift's untouchable completes underdog's rule of 3, and dead as fuck gets remade (and a wlmd reference on 570!). undead ahead sequel on disguise. now steotw has a burned at both ends sequel and the new broadcasting from beyond the grave. it's cool. to me

kaiiii i've come to report back about motionless in white 🫡 scoring the end of the world is my fave album so far, but i've also been listening to disguise and reincarnate while painting the house this week! my current top tracks are red, white & boom, werewolf, cause of death, we become the night and another life. i'm not usually a lyrics girlie (gn) at all, but both cause of death and red, white & boom have some lines that made me stop and put my paintbrush down aksjakl

umm... probably tbp and revenge by MCR (although I LOVEE cw album 3 and desert song honestly their entire discography is so good and if i start talking about it i can't stop), twenty one pilots- vessel, trench, self titled album (this one was huge for me when i was like. dealing with something and although the lyrics are about a religion i am not in it was still really relatable because of the feelings of like heartbreak/ "falling away," if you will, that you feel HAHAHA) green day- american idiot, I love 21st century too i guess, and more recently i have been listening to motionless in white and i think I have listened to pretty much their entire discography at this point sobbbb.. I love their metalcore sound, uh.. as for overal favorite albums from them i'd say scoring the end of the world and disguise ... can you tell I have a bit of a problem when it comes to music LMAO

-Early life:

Vinny was born and raised in Jersey Shore,Pennsylvana on November 22nd 1993. He grew up with his mom,dad and 3 siblings (2 brothers *one of them being Tone Mauro who helped out in thoughts and prayers music video*and one sister) (keeping everyone elses name private) he's the youngest sibling. He is of an Italian ancestry. Vinny started playing drums at the age of 3 using his family drum kit. he became interested in it so his parents brought him a drum kit. His family had different instruments at home. Vinny explains his whole childhood and his life growing up in a interview by Don't Shit On The Bus on Youtube.

Teen and Young Adult:

Vinny used to make youtube videos of himself playing drums to songs. He also wrote lyrics for his past band empyreal which was formed with his friends but only played drums in songs. Vinny went to college for computer programming however he dropped out to join MIW at age 19.

-Music Career

2014-2016 Recaranate:

The story of Vinny joining miw, Vinny was in empyreal with Logan and his friends. *cant remember fully the details sorry* One of his bandmates live with a guy who knew balz. Balz heard their band. Since they were looking for a new drummer, he asked Vinny to try out on drums for miw. Vinny didn't know if he wanted to do that but later on he end up trying out. He dropped college and learn to play a few miw songs in a week even though he never listened to MIW. He fly out to LA to try out for the band he didn't know anyone so he was a bit nervous about it; he soon gotten their approval so he became miw tour drummer during that time. He traveled to Australia for his first show. He wasn't in miw photoshoots at the time because he was a tour drummer but fans loved him so he end up being in miw photoshoots. He was in the recarnate and break the cycle music video but barely hard to see him. Vinny wasn't asked to be a member of the band, he just end up staying in the band. He started being in more photoshoots with miw.

2017-2019 Graveyard Shift:

Vinny in the graveyard shift era was labeled as miw drummer. He also appeared in miw music videos more. He moved to Scranton Pennsylvania which is the town he still lives in. He also started his solo rap project Trap Demon, he creates his own songs and made his own music videos (with Ricky Olson help of course). He was in Ricky's film projects peesh and stairs in Ricky's youtube channel. He was only in 2 small interviews. Chris and Ricky mostly did the interviews for miw.

2019-2020 disguise

Vinny appear more in Rickys vlogs along with the rest of the band. There was some small problems he had on tour that he was afraid of losing his job because of it. Touring didn't last long in this era since the lockdown started.

2020-2021 lockdown

During this time everyone in miw was force to be in the lockdown. Everyone was at their homes having a long break from touring and seeing each other. He joined a band called suffer club with the tour crew of miw. Vinny started to stream on his twitch channel sachetti to connect with fans. He also created his discord server for fans to interact with each other. he spend lockdown streaming video games,drumming,talking to fans,jamming yo music,improving his drum skills. Fans also gave him support. In the dont shit on the bus interview Vinny mention having depression which he had for a few years but lockdown made it worst for him. He deals with it sometimes but he learns to handle it since its part of him. He wasn't able to tour which is his fave thing. He couldn't do anything about it.

Later around Oct 31st 2020 miw did their first livestream concert which was called the deadstream. He still went back to lockdown for the next few months.

In 2021 miw did another deadstream.

By Sept 2021 the band decided to do a small american tour. After that it was back to lockdown.

2022-present scoring the end of the world

Miw started touring again for trinity of terror this time. Vinny appears in more interviews and streams of miw. He is touring for trinity of terror for the rest of 2022.

Prometheus x Corinthian Playlist Analysis (Part Two)

And here's part two, with the next few songs up for analysis! Let's jump right in!

Catharsis - Motionless in White

Honestly, I don't even know where to start with this one. Even looking back through the lyrics now, it feels like every line has some symbolism of light/darkness or themes of transformation, which are both major themes in the fic. I'd highly recommend just taking a listen for yourself!

Notable lyrics:

Catharsis in darkness/ When you can't seem to feel a thing/ The absence that haunts you/ Won't hurt much longer - The first of many themes regarding transformation, plus the idea of it occurring in the dark. I like to think of this as Prometheus' original transformation into a dream, but it can also link back to the loss that is present in the Corruption ending

Darkest disguise/ Leave it at the door/ Bright lights divine/ Leave your body on the floor - Need I say more? Again, either the initial pull away from the darkness, or the return to the darkness present in the Corruption ending

Stand in the shadows, entertaining the unknown - This would be Prometheus, standing in the shadows and comforting random dreamers from their nightmares

HELL TO HAVE YOU - Our Last Night, Sam Tinnesz

Notable lyrics:

Then something changed/ Something hit me in the face/ I can't get you out my brain/ And I know this sounds insane/ Thinking 'bout you every night - Just like with I Like the Way, I feel like this line represents the Corinthian realizing he's fallen farther than he thought for Prometheus

I'd go through hell to have you/ You are the fire I can't lose/ You could burn my veins, I would take the pain/ I'd go through hell to have you - Obviously there is a true Hell in the Sandman series, but I'm thinking of this "hell" more as the transfer from nightmare to dream and the pain/effort it requires. This would also be Corinthian's POV, thinking about Prometheus and their fire

Villain - Halflives

How about a little angst for you, hmm? This song in particular relates to the Corruption ending, and could be seen as either Prometheus' or Corinthian's POV depending on how you read it

But I’m not afraid at all/ I just can’t look back inside your heart right now - I feel like this one represents the Corinthian just as he's about to leave the Dreaming world for good. He's not afraid of Prometheus (or Nyx, as they've been returned to the darkness), but he knows they're lost to him and he can't afford to devote any more time to his feelings.

You’re the thorn on a rose and you make me bleed/ And your scent is a poison I like to breathe/ But I can’t look back/ I just can’t look back at you - Same thing as before, the Corinthian forcing himself to pull away after losing Prometheus in the Corruption ending

Come by the fire/ Lay down your head/ My love I see you're growing tired/ So set the bad day by the bed/ And rest a while - This would be Prometheus offering warmth and comfort to the troubled dreamers (and possibly offering comfort to the Corinthian too...)

Don't stop/ Trying to find me here amidst the chaos/ Though I know it's blinding/ There's a way out - The "way out" of course being the shift from nightmare to dream (I feel like I'm repeating myself but honestly that's one of the core themes of the fic) and the "blinding" light being Prometheus' fire, guiding the both of them to something brighter despite the difficulty

Standing Outside the Fire - Garth Brooks

Originally I just threw this song in here because of the "fire" themes, I wanted a little more country to match the tone of the characters (cough cough the Corinthian), and I grew up with it (whoop-dee-do I'm in the South lol). But when I actually looked into the lyrics, it fits a lot better than I thought!

Notable lyrics:

We call them fools/ Who have to dance within the flame/ Who chance the sorrow and the shame/ That always come with getting burned - I see this line as the chance that it takes for Prometheus to commit to becoming a dream - it wasn't easy, and it was a risk of everything they knew, but by "dancing within the flame" they ended up more fulfilled with their life

There's this love that is burning/ Deep in my soul/ Constantly yearning to get out of control - Just... read this one. I don't think I need to say anything that hasn't already been said.

And while we're on the topic of country...

Better Than I Used to Be - Tim McGraw

Redemption ending anyone? And the fact that it's a country song just links it even more closely - it's not just the lyrics, it's the whole tone and style of this one! Literally the entire chorus links back to it, just look:

I ain't no angel I still got a few more dances with the devil I'm cleanin' up my act, little by little I'm getting there I can finally stand the man in the mirror I see I ain't as good as I'm gonna get But I'm better than I used to be

Country songs are usually pretty cut-and-dry, without nearly as much of the poetic symbolism that some of the other songs have. But just look at this one! On-the-nose or not, it fits so well with the Redemption ending in my opinion

Thought About You - Tim McGraw

Another country song that I think works from the Corinthian's perspective, possibly thinking about Prometheus in all of these little vignettes like the fic itself.

I thought about fire and how we walked through it/ The times I got it right, the times I blew it/ I thought about real, I thought about good, and I thought about true/ And I thought about you - I don't think I need to reiterate this one: the Corinthian thinking about Prometheus, not to mention the symbolism of fire once again

Goodbye Again - John Denver

Notable lyrics:

The stars are fading quietly, the night is nearly gone/ And so you turn away from me, and tears begin to come/ And it's goodbye again, I'm sorry to be leavin' you - As dreams, they can only meet when people are asleep (at least, as long as they want to avoid Morpheus), so they have to say goodbye at the end of the night

Why do we always fight when I have to leave/ Have to go and see some friends of mine, some that I don't know/ Some who aren't familiar with my name - I wouldn't say they "fight" all that much, but aside from that I think this line would symbolize how the Corinthian has to leave and take care of "business" (i.e., putting things in place to take care of Morpheus, like what happens in the first episode of the show)

Don't Close Your Eyes, Tonight - John Denver

Notable lyrics:

Look me in the eye, tell me what you see/ I'm the one who loves you, I'm the one who needs you/ Make this one for me - I always read this line as the very last scene in the Redemption ending. If you've read the fic, I think you know what I'm referring to. If you haven't... go read it! That's what all this has been about, after all!

Don't close your eyes tonight/ Let it be me, not just a fantasy/ Let it be me tonight - I rest my case.

quick takes on the new motionless in white album:

Chris' clean voice has improved so much it's actually unreal, there are moments on the album I thought someone else was singing his parts

If their second to last album was an homage to NU metal, this one is an homage to every other genre they like including obviously Breaking Benjamin-like butt rock, Knocked Loose-like hardcore, and Marilyn Manson-like industrial rock/metal

This album is a classic example of a band perfecting their sound by fusing everything they have already done in their career because certain songs sound like certain albums

Masterpiece proves that they can still write the catchiest chorus of the year

Lyrically the album sticks to past albums' themes just like musically, the fusion of horror themes (Creatures), political commentary (Infamous), almost sci-fi post apocalyptic visions (Disguise) all appear.

Chris' screams are sometimes even deathcore-ish, which is not surprising since he's a really talented vocalist, but changing from a deathcore verse to a butt rock chorus can be a little off-putting

The fake british accent he sometimes does is annoying at first but after a couple listens it's bearable

The closing song featuring Mick Gordon is really surprising since he works mostly on heavier shit with bands (like Obey by BMTH), it's still a nice feature despite it's kind of a ballad in the end.
