You've been challenged! (Pokemon AU)
A/N: This is an experimental piece that I wanted to try out because I was inspired by this Pokemon Battle featuring Delphox. This is a different take on a Genshin Impact Pokemon AU. This was done in conjunction with @xianyoon for their Extreme Bias Game. Special thanks to @floraldresvi for assisting me with the ideas for Thoma's section.
Characters: Lyney, Thoma
Genre: Mostly fluff, with hints of angst
Summary:
Pokemon and Genshin collide in this Pokemon style AU that answers the question: What would happen if the characters you encountered in Genshin Impact challenged you?
If you were challenged by them, what would be their in-game tagline when they challenged you to a battle? What would their title be on the game screen? And most importantly, what would be their character summaries?
In short, it positions the different Genshin Impact characters as in-game coded sprites.
Word Count: Lyney (277 words), Thoma (328 words)
You have been challenged by the House of Hearth's Second in Command, Lyney!
Tagline: "Let's give them a show to remember!"
Brief Summary:
Tricks, Illusions, and Magic galore! Whenever anyone takes a seat at Lyney's shows in the Court of Fontaine, they will be in for a magical time. Charming, charismatic, and talented are all words that describe the renowned magician. Lyney and his aforementioned magic shows are famous across the Fontanian landscape. But few know the man behind the spectacle.
Growing up, Lyney owes much of his present success to his upbringing in orphanage known as: The House of Hearth. His sister, Lynette, and his (adopted) brother, Freminet, also grew up there as well. While not much is known about The House of Hearth, it is full of unexpected surprises.
To Lyney, family means to the world to him. He will do anything to protect it. Second only to the "Father" of the House of Hearth, he is the one that will eventually be "Father's successor." Despite his young appearance, there is a reason that he is the second in command. Anyone who ends up underestimating him, regrets it.
For the Magician Lyney, he always wants to keep people on their toes. His Pokemon are the same way. Some of Lyney's trusted Pokemon partners include the show stopping, Delphox and Meowscarada. They also have some tricks up their sleeves as well.
Special Notes:
Lyney's interest in magic has spread to his Pokemon too. His Delphox is a bit of a magician as well - blink and things will disappear. On the other hand, his Meowscarada is ready for anything. It's able to adapt on the fly, like any good magician does.
-------
You have been challenged by the mysterious foreign fixer, Thoma!
Tagline: "Let me protect you. It's what I want to do."
Basic Summary:
Inazuma is a land of tradition.
However, Thoma himself has a very non-traditional skill set.
As someone with skills in cooking and cleaning, he enjoys using his skills to assist people whenever he can. His earnest kindness, his willingness to help, and loyalty have made him well liked among the Inazuman Citizens, despite their wariness towards foreigners.
As a foreigner, Thoma cares deeply about others. He knows what it's like to have people be wary of you due to things out of his control. As someone with a deep sense of duty and loyalty, he is not someone who forgets his debts or reneges on them.
Thoma's actions have earned him the nickname of fixer, as he is well-versed in the art of fixing problems. For someone like Thoma, resolving things peacefully is always preferable. Whether it's a small fight between children over toys to a fight between foreign and local merchants, Thoma would prefer if both sides could compromise.
But if things things escalate, don't be fooled.
When push comes to shove, Thoma's willing to do what it takes to protect himself and his family from harm. Once you have wormed your way into the heart of the foreign fixer, he will protect you until his dying breath.
For the mysterious Fixer, he is well-informed of any happenings going on in Inazuma. He has to be, due to the nature of his job.
With such a dangerous job, he needs partners he can rely on.
One of his trusted Pokemon partners is Talonflame. Talonflame soars above the skies of Inazuma, its keen eyes alerting Thoma to any potential issues that may arise within Inazuma. And for those conflicts that can't be fixed peacefully and require a 'forceful' touch, Thoma's other partner Blaziken, is there to help - both its master, its family, and the people of Inazuma.

the soft patter of rain starts.
coupled with streams of sunlight, peeking in, and it ties itself into a picture of tranquility; the rain touches you, draping all of its colors on your clothing. it’s not the first time you’d stand in the middle of it all, soaked, and it won’t be the last either. (you’re also feeling as if there’s another reason… but you don’t know. well, rather, you don’t exactly recall.)
“it’s pretty, no?” a voice asks from your side. you soak yourself in their voice too. (a bit weird to think about.) “once in a while. it’s something a bit too rare for me to miss it.”
you turn your head, and lo and behold, a familiar figure. (so you say but you don’t exactly remember anything about him well.)
a thin, translucent umbrella unfurls atop of him - it coats around, covering him from the coldness. it does little to hide him, though, as his eye stares at you like you’re all he could see in the first place. eye of a night sways slightly as it, too, stares at you, brushing along your features. slowly, as the seconds dissolve, you feel your skin heat up. (he’s staring at you, that’s why. nothing else, right?)
he closes your hand in yours. all the time you spent in the eye of the storm, as kind as it had been to you, and the heat that you thought you’d lost to it had come rushing back in with that touch alone - the former all but smiles. “cute.”
his fingers stroke the back of your hand lightly, if not, a bit sensually, and that only serves to fluster you further.
the warmth in your chest ceases not, stirring. it’s a nice feeling, you’ll admit, that almost makes you yearn more for it - a feeling you don’t want to let go anytime soon. it’s sweet, in a way, sickeningly sweet. you don't know how else you can describe it, the one time words dissolve on the tip of your tongue is when you needed it most. (the effect that he’s having on you is almost too much, you’ll admit.)
it makes you happy, is all. simple. (again, why though?)
and there’s the feeling again. this time, a bit stronger, a soft haze of fog, bit by bit, dizzying your senses; it heightened the heat that seeped into your skin from his hand.
“see?” his fingertips tap your cheek. “you do these little things and you ask why i tease you a lot.”
“what am i doing right now?”
“you’re looking at me like that.”
“like… what?”
silk softens his voice, “are you sure you want to know?”
(“i do.”)
“i… i think i’m alright.”

•○▬
The trek to the camp just outside of Dragonspine took up most of your day, you arrived when the sun had started setting and colored the sky in beautiful pinks and purples. With a few quick hellos to everyone around the small camp, you set up your own tent close by and made some dinner for yourself. After dinner, you decided to call it a night and cuddled yourself in your tent and sleeping bag. The sounds of nature lulling you to sleep, your body thanking you for finally resting after a long days’ worth of hiking.
The sounds of birds chirping stirred you from your slumber. Groggily you sat up, hands rubbing at your eyes to rub away any sleep. You looked around your tent, slowly blinking as you take in your surroundings. Right, you were camping here for that commission. With that, you get yourself ready for the day ahead.
You packed everything up, swung your backpack on your back and went further into the small camp searching for the commissioner. You saw a frantic looking man; he dressed like one of those scholars from the Akademiya. I approach him, watching him carefully, “Hello, are you the commissioner that posted a commission at the Adventurer’s Guild?”
The man looks at you, eyes wide as he nodded frantically, “Yes! Finally! Are you the adventurer they sent?”
You nod, “Yes, how may I assist you?”
The man, anxiously patting his hands down on his clothes, “I was doing some research in Dragonspine when I was attacked by a group of hilichurls. I fled the scene out of terror and lost all my research!”
You nod your head along with his rushed rambling, “Where did you leave your research before you go ambushed?” You asked, pulling out your paper map of Dragonspine and rolling it open, motioning for him to show where he had lost his research.
He circles the map quickly, muttering how he should’ve kept all his research in one place, three different spots were circled. You couldn’t help but agree that you wished he’d kept his research in one place. It doesn’t make sense how you could just leave your research in three separate locations. Although they were close enough to one another so it shouldn’t take to long to thoroughly scout out the areas.
You closed the map, asking the researcher what exactly you’re looking for, to which he said a few notebooks and any paper that might be around the areas. You nodded, thanking him for his help. And, with no time to waste, you bid the researcher farewell and started making your way to the designated areas now circled on your map.

my dearest patrons, thank you for your patience! i am officially back on tumblr and will slowly get to answering asks/reblogs/mentions - just with a little caveat.
starting march, i will be taking periodic breaks from tumblr every last week of the month. this means i mostly won't be around within that period of time, since i will be deleting the tumblr app from my phone.
it gets a bit ramble-y below so you can skip it if you want; the most important information was written in the last paragraph!
the reason why i'm taking this action is because i want to be more productive for other irl things. honestly speaking, managing this blog occupies quite a lot of my time (the ebg week was really an eye-opener haha but to reiterate, it was super fun, so it was worth it!!), and i learned this the hard way when i did the tumblr detox this week. without answering asks, reading fics, and writing, at first, i felt lost and not knowing what to do with my spare time.
.... but then, i started to do other things.
i got back into exercising. i went strolling around the neighborhood. i noticed an increase in productivity at work. i actually went out to buy fresh fruits and bread and milk. i took my fifth vaccine shot. i finally washed my darn sneakers after repeatedly forgetting to. i got around to washing my blankets and plushies. heck, i even fiddled around with the mic i bought months ago because i was curious about voice acting, but never got to touch because i thought i didn't have the time.
it was refreshing. it felt good. i felt happier.
so i want to do it more.
to clarify, this doesn't mean i'm leaving the genshin fandom or anything - as of now, i have no intention to do so just yet. i can't say that i will never do so, because no one knows what's in store for us in the future. but as of now, i'll be sticking around >:)
so yeah. that's about it, i guess. and if you're reading up to this point, thank you for doing so! thank you for caring, and thank you for your continuous support. honestly, i've learned that having people see you as an actual human being behind a content blog is a privilege these days, so i truly appreciate the sentiment.
take care, stay safe, drink your water, eat your meals, and i hope you're having a good weekend!
much love, ✽ meirin ✾

Long overdue final ebg post (lmao) bc I need to get this out of my system...

Art by the amazing lovely precious cutie Aine @/ainescribe
First of all I want to thank @i23kazu immensely for allowing me to participate pls I was SO unsure at first haha and she absolutely killed it with the interactions, the lil side project, the prompts, the scores tally... it's just so much work, kudos to you Ying fr!! It was a super fun game.
Shoutout to my besties/mutuals
@silentmoths @ainescribe thank you for your lil asks I love seeing your characters aaaaaaaa 💕
@floraldresvi @moraxsthrone and all the anons I got, your sabotages here and in discord were brutal omg Vi you almost made my cry //pos bc I wanted to react/respond to Li's messages 🥺 EVERY SINGLE TIME ghgnhgnghgn and NOT KEL MAKING MY GIRL HAVE A WET DREAM/SPICY MEMORY TYVM 💕 the way I had to contain myself hELP I loved it svcgavscgvsjgacbkackl
@meimeimeirin you also sabotaged me a lot, meanie //pos I loved SO MUCH your asks/little stories aaaaaa thank you for engaging so much when I know you're super busy 🥺 it def made my day everytime, ty for bringing the girl home and solving my silly lil mystery hehe 💕
@kurikurikurisu GIIIIIRL it's so funny to me that we kinda started interacting more on the last ebg for Rin and then I was like "she's a cool person I wanna fren.... 👉🏻👈🏻 but I shy...." took my sweet time to invite you to the server and turns out THIS ebg got us closer (I think? ehe?//hit) we didn't interact much in tumblr with each other's plots but bOY were we emotional support in discord, we really were in this suffering together 🤝🏻 mhm //nods nods 🤣 thank you so much for being interested in my lil silly plot and my girl aaaaaa
As for the "plot" and other things... (this got so long I am so sorryy;;;)
Well at first I wanted to do kinda a normal ebg, no plot or anything bc I don't think I have the smarts to do an elaborate game/story lmao and I kinda wanted to have more established s/i lore?? And then I realized hey I can use the ebg to introduce my s/i!!!
See I'd been working SO hard on her names lately, researching and studying in-game adepti lore and stuff and I though why don't I make it a simple game where the goal is to guess her name (with me giving hints ofc) and at the very start I had the idea of her losing her memories so she could re-discover/remember things about herself alongside the "players" learning them. Whoever character I got as my bias would help her and get to know her too along the way, even npcs (or in the rare case of me getting Dottore/Pantalone, probs be the villain for her memory loss lmao)
And then I got Kazuha. And it was so SO perfect. I took inspiration from Spirited Away with the plot point of having your name/memories/identity stolen and for some reason I remembered the whole Ino-shika-cho koi-koi card combo from Summer Wars I just had this vivid mental image of a scene where Kazuha dropped the biggest hint by writing the Kanji for Butterfly (Chō) which doubles ofc as the Hanzi for Butterfly/Crystalfly (Dié) written the same pronounced (and romanized) differently :3c
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I was very proud of myself//hit also
Tumblr media
I did not end up making haiku bc they are complicated but I at least tried to loosely keep/emulate the 3 phrases, phonetic rhyme and sensory elements while referencing my lil plot lmao
✧˖Originally I was gonna blame it on a playful tanuki or smth but I don't think they're powerful enough youkai lmao it was probably a kitsune.... we may never know ✧˖She was technically never in any danger yeah but imagine being lost with no memories and no way to know if you could get them back even because every person she met kept telling her they didn't know ofc she'd break down, or at least me, I'm very crybaby and neurotic sometimes//HIT ✧˖Yes this entire thing was technically Zhongli's fault since he did write her a letter addressed 亲爱的晶蝶 ("My dear Crystalfly/Jingdie") and that IS her name woops on a random note I kinda imagine he also signs with something like 你的龙 "Your Dragon" and vice versa with Crys ("My dear Dragon/your Crystalfly") sgcvgajsvcjhacbajkca //squeals kicks feets
And all this started because I was stressing over the fact that "Crys" is not an appropriate name for a Liyue character lmao, I debated for so long giving her a chinese name, but I didn't want to further make her an OC I wanted her to represent me/my blog (also part of me was and still is immensely worried I somehow insult cn ppl by being as some sort of weeabo equivalent or that I am "appropriating culture" or idk I may be dumb but I try to do my research and I prommy it does not come from a place of malice or anything I genuinely love genshin and Li and it's got me interested in a culture/country I funnily enough have somehow interacted with and have friends in but never really paid that much attention to ig...) and then I just had the epiphany What if I just reverse engineer and name her Crystalfly in cn? Lore would be that either her name got accidentally translated in documents a long long time ago and ppl started calling ehr Crystalfly/Crys and she rolled with it or she simply adopted the translation/nickname as her name for international settings, keeping her true name more private (hidden in plain sight tbh) p sure the only ones who know are the elder adepti (Ganyu/Xiao included) and Neuvillette (once he told her his real/first name) (ironically Crys may be harder to pronounce i other languages lmaoooo rip Fontaine)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anyway this got way too long lmao sorrryyyyyyyy thank you everyone kith kith love y'all bye!! 💕

DAY ONE : A STRANGE TOWN !
Tumblr media
-> When Kirara arrived at Matsuzaki, the last thing she expected was the sight of the fog, the strange residents, and being chased for her life. (obligatory tag for @xianyoon, though I might make a small taglist for whoever wants to see my entries for EBG/Ruler of Love!) [ <- day 0 | main page | day 2 -> ]
Tumblr media
Eldritch Gods are an… Oddity, as one may say.
Abominations, monstrosities, and horrors of the unknown: those are the traits that befits them. If you ever asked someone what they thought of them, they can only shudder in fear as they speak about the things that they can do. Their power is not one to be underestimated, after all.
If one chose to look at them when they were summoned, then it will mark the end of the world—for looking at the abyss marks the End of All Things.
For Kirara, however, she doesn’t care for those things. After all, the end of the world has yet to reach its climax, much less meet the signs of the world reaching its extinction. What she does care, though, was the packages she needed to deliver. She needed money to pay the rent, after all!
So when she was informed that there was an important package to deliver and it had to be done stat, she immediately took the job. After all, it was what she is good at, and she would be damned if she didn’t deliver it on time. Plus, there was a bonus to those that took it, so she was thriving on that regard.
And here she was, standing at the entrance of the ghost town: Matsuzaki. It used to be bustling in its earliest days, and many mentioned that it had been used for the sake of transporting goods. For Kirara, she’s heard that it was the one that dealt with transporting ores to the big cities for jewelry. Nowadays, though, it looked like it lost it’s former glory.
Kirara shuddered. Heading to Matsuzaki for the first time felt like she stepped in some unknown territory, and she didn’t knew if she can even continue walking down the road she’s in without dropping the parcels in her arms.
No, she can’t chicken out now. All she needed to do was deliver this and get out right after. Easy!
Still… It’s really eerie. It’s causing the hair on her skin to rise.
Shaking off her legs, she began to walk towards the road, observing the sights around her. There was one place she needed to look for, which was a local bookstore in the area.
Although many weren’t told of why the bookstore needed an urgent delivery, she wasn’t one to judge. All she needed to do was find it, drop it off, get the reviews from her and leave. It was the only thing she needed to do to get her additional paycheck, and if she’s lucky, she can even get some food on her way out of Matsuzaki.
However, as she traversed the road ahead, she couldn’t tell on where she was heading. Each turn she took, she was only met with long-winded halls, haunting her every step of the way. She tried to hug the wall with the side of her arm, sticking to one side, and even turning around to backtrack. Alas, all she got was nothing.
It feels like she was spinning and spinning around, and she was sure— no, certain— that something isn’t right.
That was, until she bumped into someone.
“Ah—! The medicine!”
“Oh no, the package—!”
The package she was meant to deliver slipped out of her arms, and she watched as the package full of medicine that the person she bumped to were dropped to the ground. She could hear some smash, making her grimace as she tried to scoop up those that were left unharmed.
“Oh my Gods, I— I’m so sorry,” Kirara apologized, trying to make sure to avoid the broken bottles. “I wasn’t looking at where I was going. Please, forgive me.”
“It’s alright,” the stranger answered, scooping up the rest. However, when she looked up, she noticed that their eyes were… Closed.
How strange. Do the locals have their eyes closed?
Noticing that Kirara was looking at them, they looked towards the delivery girl and smiled.
“Is there something on my face, miss?” they— no, he— asked. Kirara can tell this was an older man, his green hair swept as though the winds have it become a mess with what he’s been doing. His attire did leave much to be interpreted (with how he looked like he was going out in daylight when the fog is around), but she wasn’t going to say a word.
“N-No, not at all,” she replied with a laugh, waving her hands around before she handed the things she gathered to him. “I was just worried that you can’t see since you had your eyes closed.”
“Ah, that…”
The stranger laughed, raising his hand to rub behind his neck. Turning his head to the side, she caught a glimpse of his eyes opening.
Hers only widened with what she saw.
His eyes…!
Instinctively, she looked away, but she swore that the guy she spoke to noticed her sudden shift of behavior. Grabbing the package, she knew she had to cut the conversation short and leave, lest she ends up causing too much trouble for him… Or worse, catch his suspicion.
“Are you around here, miss?” he asked her, but she stood up and turned her gaze from him. She simply shook her head sharply, but she was keeping herself from frowning.
“No, sorry… I live out of town.”
She could feel the cold nip at her skin.
I need to leave.
“A-Anyway, I’ll get going. I got a package to deliver, after all—”
“—Is that so? Well, why don’t you look at me, miss?”
Drats!
She laughed nervously and immediately moved away, her pace brisk as the man followed suit. She could already feel the darkness encroach from behind her, and she had to keep her composure. She couldn’t let him see the fear in her eyes— she couldn’t let him see the apprehension when his eyes were blank.
“Miss, I don’t bite,” the stranger said, his hand reaching over to grab Kirara’s shoulder. However, she only went faster, trying to outpace the man from even getting her.
Move move move move move—
“Look at me.”
She didn’t have time to react.
He was already looking at her, and she couldn’t look away from him.
He hummed, sounding… Satisfied at what he found. But it was only when she directed her gaze to his lips is when she found him smiling.
But that smile stretched from ear to ear. Like a horrific monster in its wake.
“Miss ████████, I found a new wanderer,” she heard the stranger speak, his hand holding the phone as he contacted his ‘friend’. “She’s currently in Meihai street.”
It was all it took for her to start sprinting.
She could already hear multiple voices in succession, some calling out to their newest prey while others screamed to get her before she ‘ran too far’. Alas, all she can do was run aimlessly, weaving through the endless alleyways and streets until she could find a spot to rest.
Her chest continued on heaving as she tried to catch her breath, her desperation evident… Until she found a lone house, 15 kilometers from her current location.
A safe spot for me to rest! She thought, feeling a bit relieved. Just in time— I don’t think I can run for a few more miles if its closed!
Pushing herself to a mad sprint, she directed her body to the rusty gates, shoving her entire arm to open it. Despite her legs aching for a break, all she can do was run and run, barging right through the doors and stumbling down.
As she caught her breath, she stumbled up to slam the door, hearing the chimes and rapid screams from afar. She was safe from her pursuers for now, but she knew that there wasn’t any time for her to rest. No, not when she’s clearly in danger.
Turning to the book, she couldn’t help but groan at the package. It looked like the package was ripped to its seams, but there was no time for her to get out and get it delivered. No, not when there’s people from outside that would most likely have her head.
… Although, there’s something strange about this thing…
She could see something peek out from the brown paper, though she wasn’t aware if she should peek in and see what’s inside. She was always told not to, since it’s for someone else, and it was rude to peek in someone else’s packages like this. However, she’s always been curious about other people’s packages…
Maybe it won’t hurt to look.
Pulling out the object from inside the ripped package paper, she inspected what it was. From inside, she was right to assume that it was a book, but the cover was what caught her by surprise. From how it looks, it was as though someone had forgotten to label it a title and only drawn a symbol.
She could hardly recognize that symbol other than the heart pierced with a blade, and the pages were maintained… though, the smell was not doing her any favors.
Kirara only gagged. She has a sensitive nose, and this was awfully pungent for her. God knows how someone wants this, but… Alas, she wasn't going to judge.
Hm… so she was delivering a book with no title. What a wonder. Still, there was no time for her to dawdle.
Pushing herself up, she walked forward and pushed the door open, this time carrying the book. The house she entered looked abandoned, and the interior speaks for itself with how it looked so… Abandoned.
Each room she explored, she's only met with the sight of trash, body bags (she had to stop herself from prying into them because of the smell), and abandoned literature. Some were salvageable enough for her to read, but others were drenched in inky darkness.
How horrifying.
After getting lost to God knows where, Kirara managed to reach to the staircase and clambered on upstairs, this time reaching the second floor. Walking down the hallway, she noticed the door etched with the same symbol that she saw on the book.
Is this it?
She walked over and turned the knob, pushing it open, and all she can do was cough at the amount of dust that poured out.
“Ack! Hack! What is this?!”
Waving her hand in front of her, she looked around, noticing the altar set up. It looked to be a bedroom, but the dust poured out suggests that—like the rest of the entire house—it had been abandoned.
What a sight to behold.
Walking towards the altar, she placed down the book and noticed the other parts of the room. The bed was unkempt, the bookshelves were raided, there were dead plants on the side of the walls, and the mirrors were broken. The only thing that was pristine was the window in front of her, but it only showed her the fog that permeated the outside world.
Horrific, but nothing Kirara can do to change. It was akin to a curse of the town she entered, which is not something she can do.
Though, as she looked down on the altar, she noticed something strange. There were unlit candles formed in a certain way, an altar of two Gods circling the world (both she doesn't recognize), a golden ‘heart’ that sat next to the jewelry box, and fruits that… weren't spoiled.
… how odd. Everything was so old and abandoned, and yet this looked… recent. She couldn't help but narrow her eyes at this change.
Ah, no time. She has to find a way to get through this predicament.
Her hand reached over to the book and she began to flip through the pages, trying to find what she can do. There were still the calls of her perpetrators outside, and God forbid does she forget about them. Especially now.
Then, she encounters that page.
Summon the World Reaper In order to summon the World Reaper, one must prepare the following ingredients…
“… A golden heart, fruits that were grown in the sanctuary of the dead for the past 24 hours… and black lit candles?”
She looked back towards the items on the altar— she can tell the golden heart and the candles were present, but the fruits were another thing. However, when she looked back at the pages, she could only raise an eyebrow in confusion.
Black lit candles? How can I achieve that? It's difficult to light candles in other colors!
Though, there was no time, so she began to search for matches. Maybe there was a way for her to light them in that specific color to call for this… God, and she has no other option than to follow the ritual in the book.
Flipping the pages for other guides, she noticed that there was one for black flames and grabbed the necessary ingredients— namely blood of the traveler (she needed to cut her hand for that), matches, and the small statue of the Gods of Cosmos.
As everything was laid out, she lit the candles and the black flames began to rise from the match, it's fire transferring to the wick of the candle. The flames began to rise higher, making Kirara pull away with her book.
She may be scared of the flames, but she has no time left to cower. She needed to do this now!
“R'luhhor ot shuggog n'gha, Y' ymg' uln l' real shuggog. Nafl'fhtagn!”
The ground rumbles as smoke rises from the black flames, engulfing the room. She needed to say it again, as per the instructions of the ritual.
“R'luhhor ot shuggog n'gha, Y' ymg' uln l' real shuggog. Nafl'fhtagn!”
It's rising higher… and higher… Kirara can only breathe shallow breaths as she chanted it one last time, not caring for the temperature that dropped nor the eyes that peered angrily to the one that awakened them.
“R'luhhor ot shuggog n'gha, Y' ymg' uln l' real shuggog. NAFL'FHTAGN!”
Then, she hears it.
The clamors of the chains, the temperature dropping to the negatives, and the many void like arms grabbing her body. It's grip was so unbearably tight, the messenger can only gasp and cry in pain as it clawed at her skin.
The body loomed over her for a moment, their many eyes peering to see who awakened them for their selfish desires. Snarling, the voice echoes from within the depths of the abyss.
“YOU WHO AWAKENED THE WORLD REAPER, DO YOU KNOW THE CONSEQUENCES OF AWAKENING THE ONE THAT LURKS BELOW?”
Her breathing became even lighter as the hands clawed to her skin, desperate to enter her body—to be able to get through her flesh and end her beating heart. She could feel bits of her sanity slip the longer the entity looked at her, and from it's gaze, she could only cower.
“YOU HAVE TAKEN ENOUGH FROM MY COMPANION, AND YOU DARE TO DO THE SAME TO ME? HAH! HOW BOLD OF YOU, YOU FOOLISH MORTAL,” bellowed the entity. “HOWEVER, I AM NOT ONE TO SPARE SUCH FOOLISHNESS FOR ANYTHING BUT MALICE, NOT AFTER WHAT YOU’VE DONE TO MY COMPANION.”
Their main hand reached over to Kirara’s throat, this time their nails digging into the skin, making her choke in her spit.
“NOW, I SHALL GIVE YOU THE LIBERTY TO SPEAK BEFORE YOU DIE. CHOOSE YOUR WORDS WISELY. WHAT DO YOU NEED FROM ME?”
Despite the literal danger Kirara was in, she can tell the grip on her throat wasn't hard enough that she was choking anymore. It was like the entity is giving her the grace she deserved— and one she'll take to her grave.
With bated breath, she can only utter, “I-I’m here to… get rid of you… And your followers of this town!”
“Wait, really?”
The many hands that held Kirara seem to dissipate to nothing, and the monstrous being in front of her seem to turn back to a… normal person?
Kirara stumbled to the ground as she finally got her breathing back, her head turning to the entity she summoned. They looked more shocked than anything, and especially with how they were not doing anything to hurt her.
… as much as before, anyway.
“Y… yes,” she replied, coughing. “You… aren't mad that I… am going to get rid of you?”
“Oh, no, I'm far from mad,” the God said, crossing their arms. “I actually want that. Please, get rid of me.”
… huh?
“You didn't hear me correctly?” The World Reaper asked, frowning. “I'll repeat myself if you haven't.”
“Please, human— I beg of you, get me out of here and save my companion from those cultists.”

The art of living
notes: a small scenario i wrote on discord for the ebg to take @k-zu out of the game. tagging @divinavulpes, @kamiiyaka and @cherry-froggie!
contains: dainsleif x gn!reader, angst to fluff
warnings: major character death, sorta
Tumblr media
Imagine Dainsleif, who was cursed with immortality and spent an eternity in misery.
And then he fell in love with you and finally started looking towards the future; planning a life with you. That was until the day the curse finally broke and you were left wiping Dainsleifs last tear off his cheek and him leaning into your touch; trying to force himself to give you a comforting smile. He was looking forward to the future for the first time in centuries. He wanted to buy a nice little house with you and grow plants together and go grocery shopping on saturdays. He wanted to cook breakfast for you; have you wrap your arms around his waist and sleepily snuggle up against his back. But all he feels now is the cold, endless grip of death. It's funny isn't it? A man who wanted to die for so long has finally found the will to live. And yet everything was only ever meant to be taken from him.
He'd cry, reminiscing about all the memories he never made. Dainsleif feels like ever since the fall of Khaenri'ah he spent his whole life just existing. Grieving. Wandering aimlessly trying to find a meaning where there was none to find. And then he found you; who brought light into the deepest depths of the abyss and who guided him from an ocean of madness safely to the comforting shores. He would have loved to have more time now. More time idly watching the sunset with you and holding you in his arms. More time plucking flowers for you and grieving not those who died but appreciating the life all around him; most of all the life in your eyes when he'd hand the small bouquet to you that he picked himself. He would have loved to kiss you like time could never take you away. But the clock kept ticking, the seconds passed by and Dainsleif would have to settle for one last kiss.
He presses a kiss to the palm of your hand. "There's so much I still wanted to tell you.....I spent so much time grieving and not enough loving you like I should have. Like I do now. I'm so sorry...."
He fades into the abyss, the universe and everything in between. Nothing is left of him for you to mourn. Nothing but your memories and the excruciating sadness you feel inside your heart. You can't even bury him and hold a funeral for him. But you still try, hoping that somewhere out there he's still waiting for you, waiting to be reunited. Or that, wherever he was now, he at least finally was able to rest. You knew you never would be able to but maybe that was the irony about loving a man like Dainsleif. Maybe through him loving you and leaving you behind, you had taken the burden he carried and in a way he had passed his curse onto you....
When he wakes up, he's startled and scared. A cold shiver runs down his spine. The last day he had spent fighting the abyss order must have taken a toll on him. Reminding him of things long gone but showing him that there were still things he had left to lose. A tear rolls down his cheek. Then another. Time had numbed him; the rains of the years had rusted his heart and sometimes made him feel like it wasn't ever going to beat again. But now....now the tears just kept falling.
He feels you shifting beside him, alarmed at the muffled sobs that leave him. You sit up; eyes widening at seeing Dainsleif cry for the very first time. "Hey...", you whisper softly, brushing a strand of hair out of his face. He just pulls you closer, clinging onto you as if he'd feared his dream to become reality and to lose you just as he had lost everything else. Dainsleif was tired of losing. He wanted to gain. To live. To love you with all the love he had left in his heart. To prove to himself that all the evil and sadness he faced couldn't extinguish what he had felt so vividly long ago.
You hold him wordlessly, running your fingers up and down his back. You'd be here for him however long it'd take. You kiss his forehead softly; whispering "it's all going to be okay."
And in that moment, Dainsleif believes you. The pain is present in his mind just as it had always been but right now....right now there is also relief. Relief that both of you were alive; relief that it was all a bad dream and that he was holding you in his arms. That you didn't brush him off as a hopeless case. In a way, he is also relieved that he could cry again; let everything out that had been locked away in his heart for so long.
He's still sobbing, yet trying to kiss you. His lips are quivering on yours but you don't let that deter you. You kiss him back, patiently, until he stops shaking. Until he is laying in your arms again silently, just snuggled up to you.
And for the first time in a long time, there is a genuinely happy smile on his face. You're relieved that he had calmed down, pressing soft kisses all over his face, each of them making his smile a little bit brighter. It felt so good to smile...
"Dain?", you ask, running your fingertips through his hair, "let's go and pick flowers again tomorrow, okay? I love you. We can start building that garden you talked about before." You had brought life back to his world even when he had resisted with all the pain in his heart. And now, life would only continue to grow and you'd nurture it with every bit of love you feel for him.
There would be many days to come. Days of sorrow but also days of laughter and happiness. Nights spent kissing his tears away. Mornings spent telling each other "just five more minutes" and then falling asleep again with Dainsleif nuzzling your neck and you feeling him smile against your skin. Afternoons that had you listening to live music in Mondstadt's town square and that one day where Dainsleif didn't seem lost in his thoughts anymore; seemingly reminiscing about a better yesterday; but instead invited you for a dance, just letting the music take care of things. Letting himself forget the rest of the world for a moment while looking into your eyes like for while that was all that mattered. He loved you so much and he hoped that in time he'd heal enough to return your love in full. To be here in the present with you; taking one step after the other towards the future with hope in his heart.

the moon always circles back with the sun
for the end of the ebg, i thought i'd relish in some kavexis content <3 oh how i missed him (selfship fic)
Tumblr media
SEEING HIM was like an avalanche melting above her, stopping the suffocation and cold in favor of leaving her crying the water that flows from the melting snow. Oh how she missed him ever so, it was almost unbearable to see him and be away. She got off the boat and immediately jumped into his arms.
"I missed you, I missed you, I love you so much, I'm sorry, I'm sorry--" before she could continue he cut her rambles off with a kiss. The kiss was deprived and far too long set off, she herself was starved of him, his taste, his everything. It hurt ever so to be away from him so long. She gasped for breath once he pulled away, and while winded she didn't wish to stop. She wanted to kiss him to make up for all the time lost, until she's satisfied and remembers she's back with him again.
"I missed you too, more then anything." he whispers gently, which causes her dam to break, shatter into a million pieces as she sobs into his chest. Arms wrapped around him so tightly it seems impossible to drag her away. In no time tears drip from his eyes too.
Receiving letters in the mail and having to tear them hurt more then anything, tearing any piece of Kaveh was worthy of the world falling apart for her. But she's back, back with the other half of her soul.
her sobs turned into laughs as she looked up at Kaveh, meeting the crimsoned ruby eyes she missed so much. The jewels she spoils herself with in his eyes, she's forever captivated by. His touch she doesn't admires, as she rubs her thumb along his palm, hands intertwined as she kisses him gently.
"I heard from a couple birdies that you missed me ever so..." she murmured with a giggle, "who thought you'd become such a introvert without me? Hm?"
Kaveh flushed before sticking his nose into her hair, mumbling and grumbling words she could barely make out.
"Oh, Kaveh don't pout now. I missed you just as much, you probably didn't hear anything about it because I wasn't allowed to show it like you did."
"shut it..." he murmurs embarrassed which causes a light chuckle out of her. Though it was entirely true, he did show it a lot more then she thought he would. From the excess time spent in the tavern Alhaitham has mentioned to her about (she'll have to talk with Kaveh later about that), and how he shied away from everyone? oh how she was shocked to read that on letters.
But for now, she'll just revel in today, in the time she is back with him. Because she never wants to leave his side again. Her hands move to his hair, as she stares gently at her beautiful husband she missed so much. Her partner she adores like the moon and sun. If she can prevent it she'd ensure she'd never go another morning without waking up by his side.
She locks that thought in with another passionate, long kiss.

Well, watching T1 v WBG. I'm boring, I'm rooting for t1....
But it'd be awful nice to see EBG win, so lcs fans can argue the reason they didn't go farther is because they lost to the world champions in the quarters!

A Kaeya series for @i23kazu 's EBG!
WC: 301
Entry #4
Tumblr media
This isn't good for my heart. Seeing him in action was something else entirely. It would seem brandishing his sword wasn't just for show, with the way he wielded it with such fluidity and proficiency that the ruin guard never stood a chance.
I vividly recall the way his arm took a firm hold of my waist and held me close to dodge the machine's missiles(the ancient technology was really quite something, and if I were in Kshahrewar I'd undoubtedly be ecstatic to witness it firsthand). I must have been shaking in fear, for he gave my shoulder a light squeeze and pulled me aside before diving back into the fray. His cryo vision suits him well. It's like watching a magician at work, with the way he creates such dazzling ice and controls it so lethally it shouldn't be allowed!!! I felt lightheaded from watching him. My heart raced the whole time he narrowly dodged attack after attack. Perhaps if I'd fainted I might have had the pleasure of being in his embrace as he carried me back to the city walls. But that would've lost me the gorgeous vision of him finishing off the horrid metal beast. Oh dear lord Kusanali, grant me your wisdom for this cannot be good for my soul. Even after he saved my life and made quick work of the hulking metal titan, he still apologised for keeping me waiting. Just what sort of person is he? He was not nearly as shy or uncertain when fighting, that's for sure. It's surreal to think I've been escorted by such a man; it's not like I'm an important guest to Mond or anything. I might be clinging to useless hope right now, but I do think he has, perhaps, a slight fondness for me.

FAQ
Tumblr media
> What is EBG?
EBG stands for Extreme Bias Game.
It's basically a small game some of us organize from time to time. It lasts for a week and during the duration of this week you will not be allowed to simp for your bias and anything else the rules set by the organizer(s) state. Instead, you will be assigned a 'new bias' that you will have to pretend to simp for instead during it.
During the week of EBG, people will try to sabotage you by sending you asks and stuff about your original bias to try to get you to cave and simp for them. If you simp for them once, you get a strike. Three strikes and you are eliminated!
If you get eliminated, that means you lost and will have to carry out a small punishment given by the organizer(s) at the end of the EBG.
> Will we get assigned NPCs for our biases?
Not random ones, no. Unless other players have them as OG biases. (Ex: Genshin NPCs will not be assigned don’t worry)
> What counts as being active?
Basically being active enough to participate in the multiple events during the EBG and interacting with other players, not just sitting back and doing basically nothing during the EBG.
> I don’t know anything about ORV. Can I still participate?
You don’t have to know abt ORV to participate!! This is just an ORV inspired EBG. It’s multifandom and open to everyone!
> Do I need to be in a lot of fandoms to participate?
This EBG is open as multifandom so more people can participate! It doesn’t rly matter how many fandoms or biases you have.

Entry #? : The Last Entry.
(The conclusion for the previous season's EBG, the one piece I've been delaying this whole time.)
or, safe to say, I've been desperately trying to avoid seeing the inevitable.
Yours,
Shikanoin Heizou.
Tumblr media
Somewhere far from Fontaine, a boat docked in Liyue...
✧.
He should've known that returning to Liyue was a bad idea. He should've trusted his guts when Esther turned to him, eyes glittering as she smiled and said, "since this is all over, we should have a small vacation to celebrate."
This was not part of the contract. All there was, was that they were contractually engaged until her attorney-like job was over, and that he had gotten the information that he needed for his case back in Inazuma. Both of which were completed, as mutually agreed.
Shikanoin Heizou was a man, full of wit, charm, and a picture of genius. Even then, he allowed her to grasp his heart and tug it however she wished.
So, arriving in Liyue wasn't a bad thing. The harbor was similar to what he was used to, back in Inazuma City, and the atmosphere was all warm and welcoming. The smell of the food there carried over the air, and he found himself almost starving from the hours they spent on sea.
No, no, arriving in Liyue wasn't the bad thing — it was her eyes.
Identical to the way she had innocently asked him to come to Liyue with her, her eyes shone in recognition. The kind of look when someone fell into a realization, or the face he got when he connected all the dots to a particularly hard case.
In a frantic manner, she was looking, and her eyes darted to every little corner, as if hoping to find at least a strand of hair or a glimpse of a figure, hiding among the buildings or the people. Her feet carried her to the busy streets, where he could barely catch up - and then, he lost sight of her. His stomach dropped.
She knew what her missing piece was.
Heizou knew from the very start, who exactly she was looking for. Who she had forgotten. (Desperately, he wished it would've stayed that way.)
It was her right. Inevitably, finding the one person she had forgotten — the person that completed her, or so she liked to put it, when she described the feeling of who they were supposed to be — was the reason she even came to Fontaine. Actually, it was the only reason he even managed to get paired up with her in the first place, yet it was also the sole variable that began to make him fall hopelessly for her.
He had just begun to enjoy it all, really - the bickering, their wits combined, and the way she trusted him wholeheartedly. He didn't mean to lie, but it was never a lie if he hadn't said he knew anything about the adeptus she loved. If anything.. it was just a secret. It was supposed to stay as one. Now, she was off to find the Conqueror of Demons, the one who truly caught her heart.
It was all by accident, the falling, but Shikanoin Heizou made no mistake. Cannot afford to make any, if he wished to keep her close.
She didn't belong to him, he knew that very well, but he still felt unwell, hiding it behind a strained smile as he paused in his search. It wasn't hard to guess that she might as well be far from Liyue already, with those massive wings she hid. A little bird like her was never supposed to stay in one place, after all, when its destined place is the sky.
Or, well, him. That adeptus. That was who she was fated to be with, even after all they went through in the Land of Hydro.
...
Ah, whatever. He'll celebrate on his own, until she comes to find him later.
Tumblr media
Somewhere, in Wangshu Inn.
Some people reported having seen an angel descending from the heavens, landing headfirst onto a mysterious person on the highest perch of the inn. They claimed it was an angel, for the gigantic wings were unmistakable, and the moonlight only served to frame the creature.
None of them could really make out what happened, because it was nearing midnight and it could've just been a trick of light, or perhaps something they shouldn't have seen, in fear that it was some kind of folklore they shouldn't be messing with.
But if one listens closely, they might just hear a hushed voice or two. If one peeks at the balcony, witnessing the adeptus that guards the marsh in a vulnerable state, with another being just like himself - immortals who can barely take being so far from each other.
"I missed you."

Something I wrote and doodled to finish my storyline in @zhongrin's EBG afterparty.
Enjoy~ 💚
cw: blood, creature death
Tumblr media
“Albedo.”
The blond alchemist solemnly looks up from his sketchbook to the source of the thundering voice: a brown-haired tall man in white-gold attire floating in the air, his presence alone causing the earth to quake.
Albedo’s lips curve into a smile. “So you’ve come at last.”
Zhongli chuckles. “So I have. You should’ve known better than to run into my territory.” Black-gold polearms manifest from thin air. “Now, are there any… friends you wish to send to their deaths?”
“You mean sending you to your death, ex-archon?” taunts the voice behind him. He turns around and sees a dragon—if it can be called a dragon, considering its mangled shape—with someone who looks exactly like Albedo riding on top of it.
Zhongli’s lips form a calm smile. “Oh, are you the Dorian people have been talking about? My, my. You’re so… rash. Reminds me of my younger days.”
The polearms flit through the air toward the creature as Zhongli’s form shifts into one of a brown-gold dragon. “Now let me show you the power of the Prime of Adepti.”
Dorian scoffs. “Good decision, ex-archon. You’re no match for our chimera otherwise.”
The two dragons exchange blows in the air, their focus locked onto each other. Albedo chuckles and walks to the hut where his “beloved” is sleeping. Suddenly, a lone arrow pierces through the ground in front of him, stopping him in his tracks. A looming figure approaches him from behind.
“Not so fast, alchemist,” Alhaitham says, sword pointed toward Albedo’s back.
The blond scoffs and turns. “I suppose this stick is a gift from your wife. So much for ‘we intend you no harm,’ scribe.”
Alhaitham lowers his sword. “We haven’t actually harmed you, though.”
“True.”
“And you have been so engrossed in preparing for the confrontation with Zhongli, you didn’t realize that a certain moth had taken Rin’s Vision off your personage.”
“Wha—”
A loud boom echoes across the air, interrupting their conversation. The chimera lays still under Zhongli’s talons, its black blood gushing out of its fatal neck wound. Dorian lies unconscious beneath the larger body, having been knocked out by the sheer force of the larger dragon’s blow.
“Now stay,” he growls.
“Zhongli!”
He huffs and turns to the source of the voice.
“Alhaitham.”
“Kurisu has Rin.” The scribe gestures to the alchemist. “What do you want to do with him?”
The dragon shakes his head. “He can’t win against me, and he knows that. We don’t need to do anything anymore.”
He raises one of his talons and wipes the black blood off his face.
“As a show of mercy, I’ll let you say your goodbyes.”
Albedo picks up his abandoned sketchbook from the ground and begins imprinting the magnificent sight of the Geo Archon’s dragon form onto the paper. Even if I’ve lost, I can still gain something from this, he thinks.
The frantic scratching of pencil on paper stops when two women come out of the run-down hut, the sound of their feet shuffling through the yellow-green grass breaking the sounds of nature. The short-haired woman nods and lets the long-haired woman move forward on her own. Albedo catches a familiar glint of a Vision from behind her shawl and the glitter of the silvery dust on her fingers.
Ah. I’ve been thoroughly defeated.
But he’s nothing if not resilient, so—
One last smile. One last time—
He waves his hand at her, forcing a small smile on his lips. She smiles and waves back at him. Then as her vision clears, her gaze grows sad, with tears now threatening to spill from the corner of her eyes.
“You’re not… him.”
“No, I am not.”
“Where is he?”
Albedo gestures to the archon, who’s now back in his human form.
“Mei.”
“Li! You’re here!”
With a nod from the scribe, Albedo carefully slips away as Zhongli and Meirin run into each other’s embrace. He pulls Dorian from beneath the dead chimera and treks back toward Dragonspine. His steps come to a halt as he looks back at the four’s reunion before disappearing back into the snowstorm, a fond smile growing on his lips.

It was good while it lasted.

The Snowfall
Part 1 ... Part 2 Character(s): Eula x gn! reader Genre: I have no clue actually Warnings: None for now. Word Count: 360 Notes: first entry for @i23kazu 's genshinblr january ebg <3 this will be a series (pat me on the back). Sorry if it's not well written, I have a specific scene in mind and I wasn't all that mentally okay while writing this part. But hopefully from part 2 forward I'll be more enthusiastic !!
•○▬
You had accepted a commission from Katheryne that involved going to Dragonspine. You were going to refuse at first, but as soon as she said that the payment would be double the usual payment you were already on your way to pack your bags for the trip to and from Dragonspine. It’s as the old timer’s say, mora makes Teyvat go round, and you needed that extra mora so that you could get your wind glider fixed.
It got burnt from a pyro slime that a hilichurl threw after you had jumped off a cliff in a hurry to escape the sudden ambush. You let out a deep sigh at the reminder. You needed to fix your glider for in case things like sneak attacks from the wild happens when you’re out to do your commissions or when reinforcement come in from the enemy’s side. You are only one person out there after all. Usually, your commissions didn’t involve fighting but rather to scout out areas and take out a few hilichurl towers here and there, or to travel around on behalf of other’s.
You shook yourself out of your thoughts, you got lost in thought again. You looked over your supplies that were spread across your bed, making mental notes of what you can use for what in the snow-covered mountains. First you should meet up with the person who posted the commission, find out all the deeds about what exactly they need you to do, and then you can traverse into Dragonspine and get whatever it is that the commissioner wants.
You nod to yourself, happy with your little plan that you came up with. A smile tugs itself onto your lips as you metaphorically pat yourself on the back for being so theoretically prepared. With that, you pack your supplies into your bag. You won’t be leaving immediately as preparation for longer trips takes time and you needed to get the supplies you needed, which took up most of the day in anyway.
You’ll be off to Dragonspine first thing in the morning, you concluded. Doing the rest of your nightly routine before nodding off to sleep.
