Very not LoL gimmick account of me but I have to ramble about AI art and idk where else to do it.

The thing is, I fucking HATE the state of online discourse and the amount of bs AI fanboys spew out.

So uh...

If you need free or cheap art you have Creative commons, you have stuff in the public domain, if you follow artists on social media, A LOT of them let you use their art for free for personal stuff. And then you have Patreon, you have beginner artists who charge less. You have options that are not a dubiously legal art stealing machine.

But all those take time and effort, you say? Have you ever commissioned an artist? Have you? I'm no pro but i did a few drawings for my friends and boyyy was there time and effort required on their part to show me exactly what they wanted.

If you don't have a super specific idea in mind? Then already existing art will be good enough. And also I'm sorry but if you want stuff for free you can't expect to get it with no effort.

Now don't get me wrong, if you have a stupid idea and wanna try it out quickly in dalle or whatever thats great, you do you. But don't flaunt your homebrew DnD supplement with a godawful AI generated cover and tell me that this is the future of art.
