How was it that school always had a way to bored Lena. Classes were interesting until the new semester and now it was full as they repeated things that she knew.

Researching was her jam.

So sure she was going to have to research a topic and provide as many sources with reasoning behind why its relevant. But it was boring.

Even as she stepped into the library and spotted her favourite resident troublemaker.

Pizza Offering | Phock

Maybe the fact that Phineas’s confrontation with Tony had gone so poorly should have discouraged him from trying to reconcile with the other person he had punched. But he just felt like things would go differently with Lock. It was really strange. Before Friday night, Phineas wouldn’t have necessarily admitted that he held a strong grudge against Lock, but he definitely would not have anything positive to say about him. 

Now, though... Phineas couldn’t shake the feeling that Lock had helped him out. And even though Lock had been part of the reason Phineas had a broken elbow and a massive headache following Friday night, he was also the person to stop Phineas on his embarrassing and self-destructive warpath. Phineas appreciated that.

So he had invited Lock to get pizza with him. Just so that Phineas could explain. And apologize. It was super weird, sure, but it was the best Phineas could think of. He arrived early and ordered a cheese pizza, then waved Lock over when he saw him. “Hey!” Phineas greeted. “I hope you like cheese? That’s what I got anyway. Er, how’ve you been?”

Well, fuck her. 

Shock hadn’t expected Anthony to fucking die on them. This was--a problem. Honestly, now that she thought back on it, she had no idea what the fuck the point of all the chaos had been. Was Anthony planning to sweep in and play hero when the dust settled? Was he truly just that chaotic? (And, for the record, if he was, RIP to a chaotic king.) Had he just been in it for the #drama?

Either way, it was clear he hadn’t thought about her or Lock or their brother, at all, in his after plans, whatever they were.

And she was pissed about this, because Shock loved a bit of chaos, but she also had meant what she’d said in all her stupid campaigning. Shock liked Swynlake. She liked how batshit insane it was--all the dreams and scenarios like last night. And, she also, really did feel like she belonged here in a way she’d never felt like in Hallowtown. At least, here in Swynlake, the Adamsons could carve out a name for themselves. They didn’t have one hanging over them.

Shock would be damned (ha.) if they were booted out of here just because of Anthony’s failed power trip.

So, she’d called an emergency family meeting in the destroyed interior of Anthony’s mansion. She sat at Anthony’s mahogany desk in the library, her elbows on the edge as she leaned forward, looking very proper. Books were scattered about the room, having fallen off broken shelves in the chaos of the fighting. She was scowling.

“I don’t think we’re royally fucked, but before we start talking strategy, I need you both to tell me if there are any other surprises we should be worrying about.”��

Her eyes flicked from Lock to Barrel and back again. Shock, of course, wasn’t going to mention her growing concern about Phil and the lads. That was for her to deal with.

Huey hadn’t known what to make of all this.

A journey to find the lost city of Atlantis. A journey to find a city that might not even exist, given that it had been lost for centuries, and even before that it had been little more than a myth. Huey had done the research, he had read the stories, looked at the ancient tablets, any source he could get his hands on. From all his reading, it seemed as though the city of Atlantis had been a story, and nothing else. Why the myth had changed, why the city had become lost in the first place, he had no idea. Maybe there had been too many people stumbling around the forest, getting into trouble trying to find it. Maybe people had gotten tired of the old stories and wanted something new.

They were going to find out either way. They, being him and Lock. 

He knew Lock, of course. He knew him, but only just. They were acquaintances, and very little more; if Huey had been asked to pick his own partner for this kind of an expedition, Lock wouldn’t even have been on his radar, not really. And yet here they were, in the middle of the jungle, trusting each other not only to get the job done, but not to get lost or kill the pair of them either. 

Huey had the map. It was very old, and it wasn’t at all very detailed, but it was the only source they had. If they had picked the wrong starting point, they were going to get lost. If they misjudged their markers, the large stones, the twisted trees, if they thought they saw them too soon or too late, they were going to get lost. So he was doing his best, but he was at least a little concerned. He pushed his glasses up his nose, and consulted the map again.

“We should be coming up on a small lake,” He remarked, glancing around. The foliage was thick; would they even see it? “Might be more of a lagoon, in fact, but anyway— we need to follow the shore round to the right, and then carry on straight.”

Disaster Moms Unite {Lock & Lena}

The first week of University hadn’t been bad yet, sure she was expecting a lot more work but maybe that was just all the stories people tried to tell were all about freaking out freshmen. 

Lena was doing fine though, and considering she didn’t have much to do outside of school yet she figured she would head into the library to read for a little bit. She wasn’t expecting it to be busy and she was definitely not expecting to see a familiar brunet. “Here I thought you actually had to graduate Secondary to get in here.” Lena teased taking a seat across from him and all of his paperwork.
