12. Any books that disappointed you? I wanna say Beowulf because that book is so fucking boring. I mean whatever this guy wants to be a king and is fighting some other dude or whatever. WHO FUCKING CARES? But maybe Crime and Punishment because I’ve heard a lot of hype about it from my brother and classmates but I just don’t care for it.

17. Did any books surprise you with how good they were?

The Great Gatsby was fucking amazing. Like the whole thing with Tom cheating on Daisy, Daisy knowing what he’s doing, Tom wanting to impress Daisy’s cousin Nick even though they both know that he’s committing infidelity. His mistress having a husband and literally EVERYONE knowing about the cheating except for him. Total drama show material honestly.

I promised a headcanon today so here I am!! and I'm gonna talk a bit about Ellie (because she's baby <3)

So you're welcome to expand as much as you want but basically, in my mind, Reader/you and Ellie are very close. There is this very nurturing and motherly bond between the two of you even if you're close in age and you're not her mom. Just like Joel, you feel the need to protect her and make sure she's okay but you actually are open about it. Joel adores her but he's quite clumsy with his feelings and their relationship is just based on the both of them 'acting tough' With you, it's different and when you arrive in Jackson, your caring nature becomes even more indispensable than before. You may ask why as you're all safe, you have a house, food, etc...but because you're not surviving anymore you have to find a new rhythm, discover what 'living' means and for a kid like Ellie who only knew the cruel, harsh world within the QZ, it is particularly difficult. She can't form a bond with children her age and she's also deeply traumatized from the different tragedies in her young life. And she relies on you a lot. I'm going to use the word 'clingy' but really, not as a negative remark. It's just that her development is a bit...backwards? Her early childhood until her teenage years were spent in force independence when she needed love and stability the most. So now that she has this 'stability' she finds herself completely lost and she doesn't know what to do, all she can hold on to is you. Of course, you allow her and encourage that behavior because it's important for her to feel safe and to finally have this 'normalcy' you've known from your early years. Anyway, you have a very close relationship with Ellie and it quickly became a habit that she slept with you while you were camping. Nights were often very cold and it was easy to get scared in the middle of the forest so naturally, you started bringing your sleeping bags together. That habit certainly didn't stop once you arrived in Jackson. Every night, you would take some time after dinner, etc...to tuck Ellie in, make sure she knows she can tell you anything she needs to talk about, remind her you and Joel are right down the hall and kiss her goodnight. Ellie will probably never admit it out loud but the attention and the love you give her make her feel all sorts of ways, it's so pure she almost wants to cry when you treat her with a gentleness she's never been accustomed to before. There are some nights though where Ellie feels worse than others. Sometimes she wakes up screaming from a nightmare and you and Joel found yourself rushing to her bedroom, holding her until she calms down. Sometimes, she wakes up randomly in the middle of the night and she just can't sleep. Sometimes she just needs you. Like tonight.

Anh let's break it down.

She's seen way too much for a 14 year old. Done things that no kid should do at age like that as well. Of course it had scared her. Being an orphan, loosing people she loves, never having anyone to lean on had left her broken. So the fact that you, someone who had shown her emotions aka love, care, affection and so on. You are her main source of comfort. Cause now after 14 years of trying to survive on her own she actually has someone who cares.

It scares Ellie though. Probably even more than Joel but since she's a child she very naturally leans to the nurturing mother role that you hold. Because everything in her body is telling her that that's safety, that that's where she wouldn't have to be afraid. For that fact alone I think that the whole adaptation period in Jackson where everyone is like pufff there's nothing to be scared of here would be extremely hard for her. Because big walls, lots man with guns might read safe for most but it ain't for Ellie. So she requires your nurturing even more. She gets worried more easily, her brain still searches for bad things, for a way that she could lose this all.

I think you would be sleeping with her for the first week or so. The room feels strange, the hallway to your room is way too long and way too dark. She's not used to staying in a house. The sheets fell weird. Everything is way too comfy. I feel like you would find her on the floor the first couple of nights. And no matter how much you'll try to convince her to sleep in the bed, she just wouldn't do it. So you have little sleepovers on the floor instead.

You and Joel encourage Ellie to speak about the fears in head. Both sharing your own worries and how communicating them to someone you trust is a great way to let it go and to see a different perspective. But there's never any pushing in it. It she just wants to sit in silence that's what you three will do. Joel is big on taking her out to the farm so she could be around animals. Sticks around to watch her pet them and feed them. Challenging her to a pun war once in a while.

he's always moved with a panther's ease, a slow, assured slink. it's no different now; he cuts a wedge from the plump pink peach with familiar grace, like the knife is an extension of him.

you watch him pop the wedge into his mouth and split it under the sharp ridge of his teeth. he raises his knife hand to his scarred lip and sucks the juice from his knuckle, tracing his tongue over his own skin.

he cuts another thick wedge, shining with dripping juice.

"ya want a taste?" he asks, making you startle.

ok where to start.. hmm.. i'm guessing u know music p well but if you'd like to see incredible performances and their work ethic, road to kingdom (and the dance practices for it, ~40 min videos if you want to see how they do the stunts) are really interesting. to me

there's a lot of fan editors that are honestly pretty funny & introduce a lot of iconic moments / fandom-wide memes that make it easier to consume a lot of content without being overwhelming! (i think jichangminluvr is the main one by far LMAO)

if you watch off the boyz (their behinds / vlogs, essentially), i'd recommend more recent stuff like red carpet behinds, etc., since that's how they look right now and will be easier for you to match name and face

How I feel about this character: I like her a lot but the writers really dropped the ball on her character.

My non-romantic OTP for this character: fapezberry, the uth if the show actually let them be friends, quartie, fabang, fabrevans, fuinn, kuinncedes

My unpopular opinion about this character: I like her and I do think she was treated badly but I feel like her bad treatment can be exagerrated at times. Especially compared to the poc in this show. I actually saw an argument saying that quinn is treated worse than kurt and like...kurt does have white privilege but he is canonically gay. I'd argue that they're the same.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: So many things but for starters, have her be a lesbian

You've done your ritual: made sure the blankets covered her body well and she's not cold, answered the questions she might have had, told her to come and get you if she needed anything and kissed her goodnight. For some reason, Joel isn't here (idk he has some night patrols or anything, it doesn't matter) and maybe Ellie feels uneasy? It's weird not to have Joel or you around the house, she's still terrified to be apart from one of you. As if not being near her made you disappear completely. You take the time to reassure her, tell her he'll be here when she wakes up in the morning and you can have breakfast together. It seems to calm her down, you start to leave but before you can open the door to go to your own room, she calls your name. When you ask her if everything's okay, she speaks with a timid tone— as if she was embarrassed or unsure of herself. "D-do you mind staying with me until I fall asleep?" Even if she's used to it and she knows you'd never turn her down, there is still some form of apprehension. But of course, you just smile and move towards her bed. You slide under the covers and pass an arm around her body. Your fingers gently trail through her soft hair and she can't help but let out a content sigh. Soon enough, her breathing slows down but her grip over your arm doesn't loosen. You don't mind. You stay there with her, offering her all the support she needs until you end up closing your eyes and falling asleep as well. When Joel finally gets home and doesn't find you waiting for him, he goes to your shared bedroom, expecting to see you asleep or reading. But your bed is empty. He doesn't worry though. He goes to Ellie's room and a smile stretches his lips when he finds his girls cuddled up under a pile of blankets. Joel walks towards you, makes sure you're well covered and gently kisses Ellie's forehead, then yours. You shift in your sleep but you don't wake up. It's a good thing. Joel doesn't want to disturb you. He quietly exits the room, a warm feeling radiating in his chest.

Your or Joel's absence is very concerning to Ellie. And I feel like the first time she would voice it would take you by surprise. You always imagined that she's good with ether of you. Like she seeks you out for one things, Joel for others. You never thought about it as a unit. That it's both of you that she always wants to have around.

And you can just tell by the way Ell is pushing around her food. Most of her answers are mhmm and yeah. She's lost in her mind. Moving to rub her hands together as she keeps on glancing towards the door. "He'll be back soon, love. There's just a bit mire work there today", you try to reassure her and she nods her head but you can see that it doesn't little to actually make a difference.

And she's determined to stay awake. You might even be getting sleepy but her eyes are big as the moon as she sits on the sofa. When you finally manage to make her go upstairs and take a shower you can tell that the closet it gets to her actually needed to sleep the more anxiety she is showing. So of course she would ask you to sleep with here for the night. Ellie would be clinging to you for dear life, jumping at any little sound. And you would just keep on reassuring her that it's nothing that you both are safe and that Joel might be on his way too you already.

Yeah... i love them... love them and this a lot. 🤍
