How did Starlo and Ceroba begin dating in your AU Would there be any conflict because of Cerobas last marriage ending so tragically?

First off, anon thank you for giving me an excuse to gush about Staroba. They have taken a hold of 95% of my brain. This might be a bit of a ramble, but I will gladly share my thoughts on them!

So before Clover arrives in the Underground, I imagine anything romantic between the both of them was kind of out of the question. I HC Starlo is still pining for Ceroba years later, but he's pretty discreet about it. That's his best friend, and she's recently lost her husband and daughter. He's going to be there for her emotionally, but he's not about to complicate things by pursuing his feelings. I imagine even if he hasn't really moved on from her, he's resigned to the fact that it'll only remain as pining from afar.

Meanwhile, on Ceroba's end, she isn't really thinking about romance. She's very much wallowing in her own grief and misery, so to her, Starlo is the only person she has left in her life, but he's just her best friend. There may be some feelings beginning to build, with living with Starlo and spending so much time with him, but nothing she really actively thinks about. She's too consumed by the terrible situation and struggles she's neck deep in.

It isn't until Clover comes around and chooses to stay in the Underground that things change. I HC that Clover chooses to live with Ceroba after the Pacifist ending. Starlo and the gang cleaned up her house anyways, so why not live in it again and make better memories? Because Ceroba's house is close to the Wild East, Starlo visits a lot, not just for Clover but for Ceroba too. Now that they're both working on their own issues and moving on, becoming healthier people, they're able to properly hang out and emotionally support one another and enjoy each other's company in a way they haven't for a few years. This is where Starlo's feelings really kick into high gear, and it's gotten to the point that everyone in their family and friend group notices.

("Dude, you like, totally wanna marry her," Mooch says, hardly bothering to contain her smug smirk. Starlo yanks on the brim of his hat to conceal his reddening face and begs her to keep her voice down, lest Ceroba hear it from across the bar counter.)

Though Ceroba is a lot more subtle about it, this is where her feelings begin to grow too. She realizes that Starlo has always been there for her, even if his actions weren't always the right ones his intentions have always been focused on doing things for her sake, and that she wants him around, maybe more than just a best friend. It gets to the point that the house feels lonely whenever he leaves from a visit. It probably takes a lot of internal strife and struggle to reconcile with her feelings. Letting another partner into her life after she's mourned her first husband is a massive and frightening step to take, after all. She knows Chujin would want her to be happy and live her life to the fullest after he's gone, but it's still a lot to take in.

I imagine once a few months pass, with encouragement from Starlo's friends ("C'mon boss, Clover calls you Pa and Ceroba Ma, you two are practically already raising them together!"), he tries to confess his feelings to Ceroba. He probably fumbles it a few times; not just because he's still shy and awkward under the sheriff persona, but because he really doesn't want to ruin his relationship with her, nor hurt her after everything she's been through. Ceroba, of course, notices this. Probably after the second or third bumbling attempt of him trying to tell her in privacy how he feels, she gently cuts him off and comes out and says it; she reciprocates his feelings, and she would love to start a new chapter of her life with him.

Thus, they begin dating! Everyone's happy for them, especially Clover and the Feisty Four, who has been privy to all of their subtle and not so subtle flirting and obvious pining. Starlo and Ceroba were already raising Clover together, but now it becomes a lot more overt. After they date for a while, Ceroba invites Starlo to move in so he can spend more time with her and Clover and be a proper family. He does so, gladly - though he probably does shed a tear or two moving out from the house he shared with his posse.

Also just an extra : I've never been to camp so this'll be really interesting

Finney Blake :

His dad finally allowed him to go on the school summer camping trip with Robin

Gwen wanted to but was invited to go to Cali with her friends so she went with them

When they had gotten to their assigned cabin they weren't expecting two other people thinking that dince there weren't that many people that they'd just do it in pairs

Robin : oh is this cabin taken?

You : yea? But there's two other beds and we were thinking that they were there to collect dust or something so just set your stuff up dude

Robin : oh okay cool, thanks

You : no problem

Meanwhile Finney is just standing there because you(being his crush) was going to be sharing a cabin with him (and Robin too ofcourse)

The entire first week he'd just stare at you and Robin would be like "Just talk to them??"

Finney : but like- they're talking to their friend and seem busy so-

Robin : oh for f-cks sake

Then Finney would be pushed across the field against his own will and talk to you without practicing anything

Other than that first week, I feel like it'd be a blast with him! He'd definitely tell you facts about your surroundings, or cool bugs he'd point out

I feel like his sister would pack his bag for him and end up packing his solar system bed sheets

It'd be so embarrassing but I can imagine it being so cute watching him be so flustered and mad that his sister did this while he puts on his bed sheets in shame while you assist him

Robin Arellano :

His uncle would save up a lot for him since Robin would always talk about hiw his classmates would get to go, ofcourse he didn't care where he was just as long as his friends were free all summer

But this time his uncle was able to save up enough for him to go and it just so happened that Finney was also able to go

When he'd seen a familiar bag on one of the cabin porches he tried looking for the person who owned it, You.

He found you after like 5 minutes of looking past people and would definitely drag Finney with him so that he wouldn't be alone

Robin : Hey, You're here too!

You : You're here this year? That's pretty cool

And then he'd just follow you around helping you if you needed it

I feel like the whole first week he'd occupy himself with tasks and helping you (ofcourse)

Like he isn't used to be away from home for more than 2 days because he never really had the luxury of traveling

Ofcourse this wasn't really "traveling" but it was new from the comforts of his home so it was all odd to him

I do feel like he'd be great at camp activities though, like tug of war, canoeing, and like the occasional prank wars. He'd love all of it and would even challenge you specifically just for the fun of it

Robin : come on try harder than that y/n

Hed tease you if you couldn't even beat him at one game, ofcourse after a while he'd just feel bad and end up helping you which would end up with him getting shot with water from your water gun

You : GET PRANKED LOSER

Then you'd run away

Bruce Yamada :

I feel like he'd always see you there at camp and would always wait for you at the front of camp just to greet you

Bruce : Y/N!!!!!

You : BRUCEE!!!

And then you guys would run and hug eachother from how long it'd been since he'd last seen you

Which was last summer

he would definitely sneak out with you in the middle of the night just to go to this secret place in the back of the camp where you two would hang out and just summarize what you had gone through the entire year you had been apart

Bruce : Schools still been easy, OH-OH AND AND I've been perfecting my swing and gotten better at baseball!!

You : WHAT?? REALLY

Then you two would just silently scream in happiness

He would definitely point out cool things he'd see and ask you what it was, and if you didn't know what it was either than you guys would just sit there for a good minute looking for what it was and other things about it

Bruce (pointing at a toad) : ITS A FROG

You : that's a toad Bruce

Bruce : no?? That's a frog??

You : it's a toad though???

Then you guys would go back and forth till either you looked it in your book or someone told you guys to catch up with the group

Bruce : it was a frog y/n I'm not blind

You : I'm not either, and I still stand by my point that was a toad

Then you guys would just go at eachother when the prankwars would start

Vance hopper :

His mom sent him there because his teachers had recommended that he'd get out the house more, get out there and make some friends or something

He didn't care about the specifics just knew he'd end up out of town away from his pinball game

he was so salty about it the whole drive to the camp site

I feel like the whole first week he'd just be so upset and distant, lashing out at everyone and everything any chance he got

But when he saw that you were and ushering him over to your table he instantly felt a little better

Vance : you're here??

You : didn't think you'd be here either

Then you'd laugh and telk him that you saw every little tantrum he had since he get there that week

Like Robin I feel like he'd excel at camp activities and just absolutely destroy the other team

But it scared everyone even if he was on the same team as them

He would definitely go all out just because you were there or watching

You : WOOO!!! GO VANCE!!

Then he'd be even more hyped up than before and literally beat everyone at all the games they had planned

I feel like he'd hate walking or going hiking, he wouldn't care if it was a little walk around the woods behind the camp but if the walk was a full two hours explain little bits of the past it had he'd flip out

Hed literally have to be take back to the camp and sit there with a camp counselor or with another camper(that camper being you)

He hates the outdoors and nature so much but if your there it's a little tolerable (not tolerable enough)

Billy Showalter :

Would definitely be out of his comfort zone, when he had heard his parents were sending him to summer camp because he was such a workaholic and wouldn't stop doing things anxiously around the house whenever summer came up

Hed be so anxious and very quiet, but if he'd seen you, the only familiar person there he knew then he'd walk up to you with a ton of confidence

Billy : hey y/n :)

You : YOURE HERE??

Then it'd be a whole thing because he never really gets out a lot so seeing him there at camp would be very shocking and exciting

Hed be so flustered and happy that you were excited that he was just there, even if he didn't know what was going on he'd just stand there so approvingly of anything you did

Like if you tied the knot in the middle for tug of war he'd be so amazed that you tied it so effortlessly, especially since the rope it like ten times your weight

Hed absolutely love campfire stories, especially when he was up

He lives telling stories whether they're history related to the camp or even just fictional horror stories

Would definitely laugh if you walked out your cabin in the morning looking like big foot

Billy : morning y-

You : hm? What's wrong Billy?

Billy (holding in his laughter) : pfft uh- uhm nothing sorry

Then you'd walk off questioning what that was till you looked in the mirror getting slightly jumpsacred from how horrendous you looked(don't worry me too)

Loves going up for walks and hikes, would probably tell you all about the things you see but if you picked up any frogs/toads/bugs he'd walk slightly faster than before and just ignore you till you dropped it

You : but it's so cute!! Look at it !!

Billy : Put. It. Down.

You : no

Billy : for my sake please

You : hmm

Billy : hmm?

You : no

Cue him running away because you started chasing his with said creature

waaaah im so sorry for not seeing this sooner! i didnt recieve a notification for this ask!! really theres no limit to how many characters you can send in! i think my personal max varies from prompt to prompt!! mix of how they approach the concept of a scarred lover (friend in tobys case) with some hints of fluff! cause of scars will be vague as admittedly i didnt know if you meant general scars or SH! side note i hope this posts right! im writing this on my computer, im used to mobile!! + apologies for any weird wording or typos, im listening to music and im getting hyped!! not proof read we die like my spiderverse brainrot

CWs: touch and go talk of potential past trauma, body image issues, vague mentions of SH(?) in EJs part + Toby's parts

admittedly admin doesnt know if its technically SH due to the nature and motiv but personally id still count it as such and tag it as such

Eyeless Jack;

he gets it, he really does. the basic run down of my hc/take on ej is that he wasnt always some flesh eating monster; just some dude who got caught up in some bad stuff

so naturally, he doesnt... really vibe well with the concept of eating human flesh, which can lead to a few... instances. from intentionally to accidentally harming himself while hes lost in his instincts

so hes no stranger to being a little roughed up around the edges

but hes a stranger to comforting; he'll likely approach it from a logical side before trying anything else. "you've been hurt," before going on a small tangent about the formation of scars. hes not the most... emotionally... good... available... person

so youre going to need to lay out the general basis for what you need for basic comfort, on days where your scars become an issue; be is needing comfort or a distraction. it may take him a while, but hell eventually start to pick up on cues and hints as your relationship develops

otherwise hes very neutral about them, again approaching them with a blunt view; seeing it as neither good nor bad. he doesnt draw attention to them, but he doesnt act like theyre gross

really just. vibing with it, doesnt make a huge deal of it since he feels he doesnt have any place to judge, nor does he feel its his business to pry for information

solid 6/10 imo, hell comfort you if you express that you need it but hell likely not go out of his way to do it

Hoodie;

Soft touches, he almost does it before he has your permission to touch you

naturally he has his own fair share of scars from various.. activities

really im still all jumbled up with how i wanna write him and masky; not sure if i want to make them like how they are in their MH source or lean into the proxy thing that was prominent in the early days of the fandom... lowkey leaning into the proxy thing for this post because im more... versed..? in that, but anyhow

hes more upfront and compassionate than eyeless jack, in fact hes probably the most caring out of the four in todays post... maybe thats because i read one (1) fic years back that changed my entire approach to his character but! yeah

subconsciously trails his hands on them when the two of you are holding one another; something gentle and intimate, not too obnoxious to make you self conscious, but not careful enough to go unnoticed

i view hoodie, and by extension brian if i end up considering him and tim fully seperate from their 'proxy' parts, as a very tactile person

true to the popular fanon interpretation, hoodie doesnt speak much. but that only makes him a better listener, so on days where things get hard, hell let you talk his ears off with anything thats bothering you. very rarely, hell speak up and offer some words of advice, most times hell inch closer to grasp you. though it does get awkward since most the time hes just. blankly staring at you silently without emoting or saying a word

overall? personally hes a 7/10 for me, i would rank him higher if he were more verbal, but thats just because admin has an easier time venting if its a two way convo; but overall hell make sure that your scars dont effect your worth

Masky;

very similarly to hoodie, masky also has his own set of scars for the same reasons

he probably starts pointing out his own scars to you and mumbles about where they came from if he knows their origins

this doesnt mean "oh hes invalidating your experiences and hes trying to make it about himself," but more so "hes showing that he really does get it and he doesnt mean to talk over you"

much like EJ he approaches scars with a very blunt and upfront mindset, but to a lesser extent. he admits that whatever led up to the tissue forming, it hurt. emotionally and physically, and hes not going to deny that simple fact. hell listen to you, have a conversation with you about it, and try to help you through whatever you may be currently going through regardless of if youre injury is relevant.

or at least, thats what hes trying to do.

hes still has his own personal issues regarding going about his own problems in a healthy manner but hey thats something for another post; maybe, if i remember

honestly this post doesnt have enough fluff imo, and i can kinda see masky doing this, but imagine he boops his mask against your scars in a mockery of a kiss (doesnt take off his mask often, in fact youll probably never ever see him without it on), i can see jack doing this too tbh

thoughts? 8/10, gets the bonus points for being less awkward to rant to imo, plus i think asides ej, i think i have a bias for masky for the simple fact i had the fattest crush on him when i was in middle school

Toby;

okay! this one is going to be interesting for one main reason! i actually havent touched tobys character in YEARS! so hes probably going to have the shorter list... obligatory i havent built any solid hcs for him past what was going on in the fandom in the 2010s, before toby briefly became a mild discomfort... but we're back in business baby!! (^^ dont feel bad for requesting for toby btw! hes no longer a discomfort, and if i didnt want to write for him i wouldnt be including him right here!!)

obviously we cant talk about his part without talking about his cheek. and other, similar hcs. while i dont think most of the self inflicted marks on his body were from a place of.. for lack of better words, darkness; it doesnt change the fact he still has them. i think a lot of them are from the fact he cant feel anything; accidental burns, gnawing through his cheek, digging his fingers deep into himself. really i could go into detail, but due to the aforementioned fact that my take on him isnt as developed as other characters + i really dont think its appropriate for this post (or really, anywhere on this account,), ill stop there

while he cant relate to the physical pain of what caused your scars, he can sympathize through your feelings. do you feel sorrow, or anger to whoever hurt you? hell be getting worked up right with you, because to him youre one of his closest friends

i feel like he doesnt talk much about his past, regarding his family. but hed tell you, and you can sure as hell bet that hell do his absolute damndest to grant you the same feeling of security.

hell probably touch and prod without truly meaning any harm, but thats because he can have problems with boundaries, but hell listen if you sit him down and tell him it makes you uncomfortable if it does

more so emotional than outwardly... supportive? idk the words, but hes very empathetic with you and tries to relate to you through emotion rather than feeling what you felt. honestly? kinda based for that, but maybe thats because i dont see feelings about this topic being touched on, usually its straight up about how the scar makes the person look or the physical trauma they had gone through, but idk, maybe thats just a me thing

he can be an asshole at times but hell usually backtrack and cool off somewhere else if you call him out on it imo

not sure if its because as im LITERALLY investigating his characteristics and interpretations as we speak, but i think im starting to relate to him so ER-OH!

anyways, i wish i could make his segment more... in tune with the characters above but its probably going to take me a while until im comfortable with how i portray this dude, which sucks because as a kid he was probably one of my favorites

i dont think im going to give toby a rating like the others; since i dont think i can accurate rate him due to the lack of proper concrete ideas outside of him being empathetic to your emotional pain since he cant relate on how much it hurt

im gonna end this here since im starting to sound like a broken record on tobys part so!

i hope you enjoyed this! characterization may be a little off but i blame that mostly on the fact that i kinda fell out of the loop in regards for writing for these guys (that damn spider movie! the brainrot threw me off my creepypasta grind!/j) but its good to be back writing for this fandom! it was a fun little brain exercise trying to figure out each character goes about this kind of thing without making them all the same!! with that being said, im going to go listen to an audio reading of tobys story so i can regrounded in his character and hopefully do him some justice in the future!

You enjoy Tekken a lot, is there any reason you don't stream your Ranked games? Asking out of genuine curiosity.

The first half of the answer is that I play Ranked in short bursts. I'll do 3-5 opponents (rematch or not) and then hit Practice Mode or do something else. I don't really do these long Ranked grind sessions. I think they are detrimental to me. It's how I enjoy the game. I can go for hours if I'm playing a friend, but for Ranked, I enter a different head space, and I really don't feel like entertaining a crowd (chat) or interacting with others while I'm playing Ranked because I play seriously there. I like focusing and playing my heart out without feeling the need or want to talk to anyone at all.

Which leads to the other half of the answer: Competitive/Ranked Fighting Game Dreamer.

If you've been to my streams and if I may say so myself, I can laugh at myself just fine. I don't take being blasted by chat bad, in fact, I go along with it. I died to gravity in Soulsborne after first try beating a notoriously difficult boss? Yeah, that's funny. I hype up a cool trick I wanna do and then fuck it up? Yeah, mockery is the natural result. I'm a good sport about these things, and like to use them as springboards for either an immediate laugh or for the next bit. I'm like that with all games and activities in general.

Except fighting games if I'm at the arcade or in a competitive/ranked setting.

Ranked Dreamer has something to prove, basically, because Ranked Dreamer enjoys and respects competitive/ranked gaming, and the thrill and learning that comes with it. Ranked Dreamer is not really about what I previously mentioned. It's not that I go Mr. Hyde or anything and rage; I have a lot of fun and I'm in a good mood the vast majority of the time! But Ranked Dreamer is raised-in-the-arcade-scene Dreamer, that expects people that cast any sort of judgement to know what they are talking about or shut the hell up, and the vast majority of my usual chat doesn't play or watch fighting games. I did a bit of Ranked on stream after my sets with LC when we played, and when I was downloading an opponent (and thus, getting hit a lot) after beating them and rematching, someone said something to the effect of "well now he's getting his ass kicked wwwwwww", which made me immediately want to say "don't you know anything, you reprobate, shut up", which... Is no way to treat anyone! In the moment, it's a natural thing to say, because that's just how it is when people that take something seriously (not even in a pro way, just seriously) will want to say to someone that's obviously a tourist that doesn't know anything about the scene if they start having opinions... But you think about it rationally after the fact, and it's like... No, dude, even then, don't mistreat people, lmao.

So basically, I don't want to mistreat people in the heat of the moment and regret insulting someone who was just having fun in chat and treating it as if it was another one of my mishaps. It's literally a me thing.

A lot of my good Tekken matches (that being matches I feel like I learned something or enjoyed) look like this:

Spoiler alert, but I get ragdolled the first two rounds badly. And that's because I don't know the King-Lili match-up. When you face a match-up you don't know, you have two options: Try and throw your flowcharts and strings and hope it works, OR you can try and download the opponent. You see what works, what doesn't, their habits, and their behavior in offense and defense. You experiment, and test. This involves a lot of getting hit and losing health or even rounds. But you learn a lot more and it helps you grow as a player, it's better in the long run. After those first two rounds, I gather this:

They duck on reaction when I approach -> To deal with King's dangerous grab game -> Use mids to beat crouch.

They literally only flowchart -> They always use the low after the cartwheel -> Launch it with hop kick (well, knee in King's case).

They are impulsive and will want their turn back -> Their wake-up game is aggressive -> oki with d,b3 counter into Leg Lock or backstep/properly spaced d,b3 counter into Leg Lock, depending on frame advantage and distance from downed Lili after knockdown.

It's Lili -> They'll start using Funny Shit on round start -> backstep, deal with it, punish it.

They are bad at breaking Figure Four Leg Lock -> Keep using Figure Four Leg Lock, it works.

And then I start absolutely booty blasting Lili. That's what downloading is! But non-fighting game players don't know that, so they'll see me get blasted (while I'm trying to learn) or rematching an opponent I lost to and then lose again (to learn the match-up more) and start making those comments that, while they'd usually either get a joke on retaliation or simply get ignored if they are not funny enough, will make Ranked Dreamer want to tell them to shut up and reflect on how ignorant they are if they can't even tell that I'm trying to download/learn here, obviously, are your eyes closed or are you just clinically unfunny and one of those "I just like spreading chaos lol" types. Which will then be something I regret because I feel bad when I actually insult people, especially over games.

So, it's just a me thing, but here it is explained in case you wanted a bit more elaboration.

oof well that is in fact a loaded question but I genuinely feel your frustration so let's give this a shot lmao

the short of it, to quote a friend of mine: 2012 tumblr called and wants its shitty shipping discourse back (derogatory)

the slightly longer of it.... to start this off, no one has to ship anything. no one's saying that anyone has to ship anything, or headcanon characters a certain way, or that you're not "allowed" to say that you don't ship certain ships. that's just . not a thing that's happening, and I do wanna reiterate strongly that you don't have to ship anything.

that said, well. maybe if you find yourself with the urge to nail your 'why i don't ship this canon interracial couple' against the proverbial church doors, you should ask yourself.... why is it always the black characters you find "badly written." why is it always the black and the white character who have "no chemistry." why is it always the black character you find unrelatable, that you think would be soo much better suited dating another character of color, etc. etc. These things do not happen in a vacuum, and you don't need to hate or even dislike that character to play into tropes, stereotypes, and issues that very many people have very extensively explained to be less than stellar, to put it mildly.

And Imma come out and say this: fandom is not activism, you don't need to be a loud, outspoken activist and/or turn this into anything more than a hobby. if, even amongst the discussions had in the last years, you have never once stopped to ask yourself how you might deal with the internalized racism that we're all dealing with, how it might affect people in the spaces you share while doing your hobby, then, frankly, you gotta do better. fandom is not activism, but we all have some basic responsibility of not causing more harm than there already is going around. this should not be a controversial statement either.

you can ship merthur without invalidating and trampling all over the frankly brilliant fact that this show went and casted a black woman as queen guinevere. you can ship merthur without taking away scenes that are not about them - god knows there are enough. you can acknowledge that 75% of your shipping takes are subjective, that merthur isn't, wasn't, and was never going to be canon, and literally none of this takes away from the two generic white dudes whose faces you'd like to smash together. this entire fandom is and has been majorly about those two generic white guys, for well over a decade, and i'm saying all this as a white merthur shipper. like, this is the bare minimum. and yet, here we fucking are.

as for the arthur being gay thing - again, you don't need to headcanon anyone a certain way, but whenever i do see this specific headcanon it "somehow" always comes with an incredibly weird (to put this mildly also) understanding of sexuality, top/bottom discourse, and - you guessed it - takes on arwen, that are maybe something people might want to uhh. examine also.

this isn't a callout, or a call for a witchhunt, or or or. personally i block and move on, and I wouldn't have said anything more on this than a vague shitpost on my sideblog, but god knows i can never shut up and even less so when asked, and I do think that while, again, fandom is not activism and I'll stand by this, people should... try and aim to make some basic attempts at not causing harm. it's not even hard (although that should not be your measure but like, again. bare minimum). it really is as easy as not constantly invalidating and side-lining ships and/or characters, by doing basic research in how not to whitewash characters, why not to compare skintone to food when writing, etc.

On that note, none of these are things that I've come up with. A lot of people, especially fans of colour, have done a great deal of work to provide resources and education that are... incredibly easy to find if you can be fucked to make some effort. Imma link a bunch beneath too but like. Yeah I guess that's my take. You can ship whatever you want, genuinely, from the bottom of my heart. But 1. maybe sometimes take some time to consider what you're saying, 2. maybe take some time to do some basic self-education on some issues in general, and 3. writing posts on why you don't ship whatever ship has never accomplished anything beyond getting people who agree with you to stroke your ego, and step on the toes of people who don't. at best.

very much exploring the idea of the calling being more about fighting the addiction that is the nether itself for shadow knights, rather than purely the aggression part.

Oh Cinn, oh Cinn you've brought my attention to something beautiful.

Little known fact about me because I'm still pretty decent about over sharing on the internet, addiction is something I've actually thrown hands with before. The idea of the Calling as an addiction to the Nether?? Now that's a concept I can latch onto.

I think that there could be ways to satiate withdrawal, but not in an exactly helpful way. The Calling is in Shadow Knights brains like "Oooh you wanna kill your loved ones and come back to the Nether soooo bad." But minor acts of violence and arson can make it shut up. Enough bloodshed, such as what happens at the Werewolf Wedding, is enough to make it so a knight isn't drawn to the idea of killing their loved one anymore because the urge for blood has been answered. Of course... Most Shadow Knights fighting the call aren't exactly happy when something like the Werewolf Wedding happens to them.

As for the urge of the Nether, they could always try to answer that with things that are like the Nether or remind them of it. Sitting by a fire, setting things on fire, sitting in a pool of hot water that can at least try and simulate lava, setting things on fire, existing in the bitter dry heat of an Arizonan morning, or setting things on fire. The Calling always responds best to the most violent solution, and even while trying to satiate it, it's still pulling at the mental strings of a knight to make the most violent decisions possible.

That idea of being able to sit by a fire instead of setting something ablaze really sucks for Knights who might have been traumatized by the Nether and struggle to be around fire for very long as a result, Laurance.

A lot of moments of a premature Shadow Knight lashing out aren't necessarily because the Calling is making them want to kill, it's because it's making them want to go back to something they know is bad for them. It's a drug that they've overdosed on and are trying to run away from still present in their veins and urging them to take another dose, regardless of its lethality. That kind of mental gymnastics and battle wears down at a person even when they aren't actively fighting. Even if they aren't in their head fighting the Calling and it's urges, it's still there. They still think about it.

Laurance doesn't want to go back to The Nether. He would rather die again than go back there. But when he sees the frame of a portal, when he's nearby one that's unstable, he has to fight. He has to fight his body and its urge to go back to that hell. Just one hit will make him feel better. Just a chance to touch netherack and breathe that ashy air will soothe his worries. Because being reminded of the Nether, even if it causes a trauma response, does cause a part of his brain to feel good. The Calling sees fire and gives him a shot of dopamine and excitement.

Wouldn't it just be so nice if he went back? If he didn't have to feel this constant drain? If he was in the Nether then the Calling would shut up, right? Wouldn't it be so amazing to just feel this good all the time? He's already dead, what damage can be done to his body afterwards?

Of course the Calling has two components, both addictive. One is of course the urge to go to the Nether. The other is that urge to kill your loved one and gain immortality. Doing one only makes the other feel stronger. Oh, you sat next to a Nether portal and made it so you're now comfortable in the over world? Bet you wanna kill your lord right about now, huh?

What's that, you actually killed your lord? Well, don't you just wanna come home to the Nether where you're surrounded by people who have all done the same and won't hate you for it? Go on, you know you want to.

Like everything else, it comes down to the Shadow Kings need to control. If he can make Shadow Knights into addicts of stuff directly associated with him, they'll be more loyal. They'll serve him to get a fix of bloodshed and hell fire. They'll come running back to him after ruining their lives for his enjoyment, and they'll fall at his feet for the chance to become a higher up in their army. He deprives them of everything they ever could have had and calls it freedom.

I love Kon but one think that really annoys me abt the comics is that they never acknowledged how messed up it was that he was dating older woman (Tana, Knockout) as a 16 year old. Does Kon even know it was wrong? WHERE WERE ALL THE ADULTS IN HIS LIFE WHEN THIS WAS HAPPENING!!

ugh yeah, i know his solo comic is not the only case of this happening, but its why i avoided reading his solo for a while (and why i prefer the latter half of his solo and his yj comics instead). and why im glad thats one thing we left in the 90s. so okay this is about to get into some fucked up things and general ranting about completely unnecessary comics bullshit so tw: grooming, p*dophilia, SA

So yeah, as much as I love him and his comics, i do have a lot of criticism for his solo. (but there are a lot of issues i do like so ill try to make a list of my faves one day)

in his solo comics, kon dates this 23/24 yr old reporter named Tana, and later has this brief fling with a villain named Knockout. And kon's character is obviously meant to be the "cool teen" which i guess in the 90s meant being into older women. That, or the writer is pushing his weird fantasies onto him, which happens quite a lot with comics (Idk comic book romances are usually so weird to me they push for really strange stuff). At the same time though, there was a letter i read from a reader at the time that expressed concern over letting kon date older women, bc they were worried his feelings would get hurt, as well as question why no one has really taken kon under their wing, so there were definitely people in the 90s that thought that shit was weird as fuck. But I also saw a recent comment from a dude that didn't bat an eye at it which says a lot about that guy like come on dude we r in the 2020s :/

Anyways, the thing with Tana frustrates me because it was such a missed opportunity for an interesting female character of Hawaiian ethnicity and they could have easily made her Kon's age and make her like a member of the highschool's newsclub or something, but the writer had to fuck it up and make it weird...Kon can be uncomfortably flirty in this era of comics, but the fact Tana returns it and even acknowledges their age difference and still pushes for it is even more uncomfortable. She even says she feels more like his mom at one point and even reports on his school activities. I mean when Kon is first introduced, she expresses concern that the news outlet is just taking advantage of him bc he doesn't know any better, and her boss says she's doing the same, but then she grows to care more about kon as a person :/ She only breaks up with him after his operation that gets him stuck at 16 for a while, because she doesn't wanna date a dude that will never grow up or mature, which is fucked up to me bc he is 16 of course he's immature T-T

But at the same time, this was never weird to the writer's mind, so he writes Tana as being superboy's guiding figure that sort of helps him learn about morals and about being a person. So she's still very important to him, i just wish it didn't have to be so WEIRD.

(Tangent, and not at all exclusive to superboy comics, but I truly do hate how women in 90s comics, especially those that are not white, are treated as 'exotic' almost, and while Tana was wrong for dating a teen, i also blame the writer in the treatment of her character, even if there were other Hawaiian characters present that I did like like Sam and Hillary)

Of course, the Knockout situation is like 10x more fucked up, because Tana was at least kind and caring to him, but Knockout straight up manipulates him. This one is even more uncomfy so i'd skip over #23-31 (tw for SA) if you wanna avoid it, but it does affect Kon a lot after. I think the writer was trying to lean into the "rebel bad boy" schtick by making Kon get swept up by a hardcore fury. They do have other characters address the situation, but they point out that it's bad to hang with a villain and run from the law rather than point out how he's being taken advantage by someone older than him. In this arc, Mae Kent/Supergirl says he's unworthy of being a Super, and he almost believes it. The ending to this arc is really intense tbh, bc kon slowly realizes how wrong it all is after knockout tries to get him to kill a person. he goes to confront her and she literally attempts to SA him, but instead they have a showdown in which kon attempts to drown the both of them in order to stop her, before saving her instead because he can't kill her (he never kills and shows empathy towards his antagonists). he's clearly shaken up by it, but the comic writes that he's mostly shocked that people could ever act like that, again never explicitly saying that her being older or sexually using him was fucked up, just that her being a villain was fucked up. But this arc did serve to show kon fight for what’s right and show that he is worthy of being a super, and that he’s lost some of his innocence but not his faith in good

anyways, i highly doubt any of this will ever be addressed in canon, bc as time goes on with comics, side characters such as these fade away to the point where they might not even have played a part in a character's life, so who knows. not only that, but this sort of stuff is just casually thrown into comics in general and barely ever addressed again? id like to say its only a 90s thing but ive read some 2000s stuff with other characters have weird shit too.

i think the closest thing you're ever gonna get is this panel of serling, who is kon's age and probably the only love interest i actually kinda liked, telling kon that she understands the feeling of meeting someone who's seen and done it all (like say, an older person) and how exciting that can be for someone like her and kon who have never really experienced real life, only to realize that there's often something far darker underneath. again, not explicitly stated enough imo, but its there and does imply why Kon got so easily taken advantage of and that he does realize on some level that it was wrong . (i could be missing other panels that address it but idk i just remembered this one mostly)

So yeah, sorry for rambling. it's just a very messed up situation. i do think it's weird that none of the adults stepped in and watched out for him more, but at the same time, the writer clearly didnt see the need to.

i don't blame people for ignoring it or leaving it out in their canons, bc you can still explore the "being taken advantage of" from different angles that aren't as uhhhhh gross but yeah that’s that sorry for the rant 😭

At least his appearances in yj comics are much happier ☹️

ok this is a rant no one asked for but i just wanna put all of my disorganized thoughts out there about aaron and the man my dude could've become without jesson's horrible execution. my grammar may be off and im not a good analyzer or anything, this is just a rant that i wanna get off my chest.

disclaimer :: i haven't watched MCD and i do plan to, and i'm aware of some things that happen but if you wanna share your opinion on anything id rather anyone would keep the reblogs spoil free

lemme start by saying that i love aaron. i genuinely love his character so damn much but NOT his canon. i love the IDEA of aaron and not his execution. jessica and jason did such a bad job portraying him- dont get me wrong i am not bashing them for the foundation they've laid for most of their wonderful characters it's the portrayal of them that gets me so ENRAGED. all of jess's characters have at least some thing going wrong with them and it's genuinely fucking insane. i don't mean what they go through in the series- as in who they ARE. what the fuck is a kawaii~chan? like god. i think so many characters in the series deserved so SO much more, especially aaron.

starting off with pdh s1 aaron. - i don't necessarily loathe pdh s1 aaron. i mean in here, he seems to have a personality than he ever does in season one of mys which is an upgrade i guess? a main problem imo was how his character always revolved around aphmau. i'm not even gonna choose to comment on the horrid age gap jesson's implemented in aarmau's story. i just hate that aaron himself didn't really have any other friend than aphmau and the fact that after they met, the series just continued to revolve around them.. and not them individually either- them as a relationship.

i think seeing certain instances like how aaron became lily's friend and stuff would've been important because technically, wasn't lily aaron's first friend in pdh? how is that just glossed over considering the fact that aaron pushed everyone who tried to interact with him off his back? isn't it interesting how lily managed to get a hold of him and actually became a friend? i don't understand why that was never shown because while students were scared of the dude because of all the rumors and shit going around, some kids like jeoffery actively reached out to him like we see in the ep where aaron asks aph to prom. he never relented to jfry's attempts to be friends w him and through this a girl like lily managed to be friends with him. i feel like something like this shoudlve been shown. i wouldve also liked to see a stronger reaction to him over lily and ivy's scheme. aaron obviously considered lily a caring friend and when he understood that they were scheming from what i remember, when he saw lily after learning about everything all he did was go "if ur gonna treat aph like this we're better off not being friends" or smt?? i think from what we understand about aaron over the series, emotional connections are obviously something he cherishes very much. so seeing him kinda like- brush the whole thing off and not be lily's friend feels so anticlimactic. idk how to phrase it. i know this was premature aaron and the aaron we know over the series is grown up and everything, but i still do feel like aaron would've had a stronger reaction to the scheme.

prob 2 was how after aaron and aph came to know ab each other being shu n fc, aaron didn't become full fledged friends with like ANYONE other than her. this felt extremely weird to me. we see him go to this dinner sylvanna planned and we see him socially thriving there- him cracking jokes and everyone having a fun time around him, travis and garroth wheezing over his jokes- how did this dude not become friends with them? i feel like they (garroth & travis) would've talked to aaron more and become more than acquaintances w him. a lil bonding thing if you get me?? mainly garroth. it's just weird that garroth never became a friend of aaron's imo. they were put in situations where they could've easily become friends. i know that garroth was jealous about aaron coming outta nowhere and swooping aph off of her feet, but he clearly got over it (during the time of s1 anyway, after that he went batshit crazy). they must've had one on one interactions during the dinner or prom right??????/ like come on. it's just weird!! this brings me to the fact that i literally don't see aaron making proper friends other than aph until fcu. like- aph is his only friend ever ykwim?? i feel like im phrasing this in such a dumb way- but it's just frustrating to see his entire social life just being- aph for a while. i just think garroth and aaron could have become friends as well, maybe even travis. and during prom, maybe even kaitlyn. we see aaron also being pretty mature and giving actual, promising advice to aph during the music room scenes. from this i feel like at some point aaron could have also comforted kaitlyn and maybe a friendship could've bloomed out of this??? this thought's just been sitting in my mind. aaron COULD have had a friend other than just aph. it just feels like his whole world revolves around aph and aph only until his family issues and the ultima bullshit comes around.

now in mystr s1, aaron is so FUCKING BLAND AND STALE AND UUUGHGHHHHHHH its actually so fuckin funny because mystreet season one aaron is relatively decent compared to his other versions *cough s5 cough. i actually do like s1 aaron's character. he's the epitome of chill- laid back, honest, communicative and supportive. he's a great friend to aph during her times of need, and during s1 he's the sanest character on the show.

but that's it. all he was was this friend to aphmau until the dumbass play arc during which they decide to go for something romantic. like his whole identity revolved around walking shirtless, being a chick magnet and a friend to aph. he revolved around aphmau, much like his pdh s1 self and that pisses me off so much!! he had no fucking personality other than being supportive to aph for a while. around the end you see him start to gain *something* similar to a personality, and while it was less than pleasant it was better than whatever the fuck was going on while he was only a friend to aph. it's also disappointing seeing him practically only gain emotions after developing a romantic relationship with aphmau. even during this, his interactions are limited to aph and zane most of the times, and even then he doesn't develop an outward friendship with zane- which would've been fucking amazing!!!! while they do start to bond, it's still like aphmau is the only one keeping them glued together while it would've been real cool for aaron to develop a friendship with zane and interactions w him that doesn't solely have to do with aphmau all the time. the fact that aph's brought him out of his shell is cool, but he's still ONLY friends with aph which is VERY eh. he may be considered friends w zane and stuff, but we only see major bonding stuff going on when it's between aaron and aph, but we don't see it with the other characters. it's jsut weird because everyone's known each other for so long, aaron;s bound to have grown closer w someone at the least- for example, garroth or travis. we've seen the unlikely group form during that one episode- aaron, aph, zane and travis- where they have a stupid lil immature game thing or whatever. i feel like travis and zane and aaron could've collectively bonded and it would've been super cute!! plus aph nudging him and zane to be more social as well- a lil detour to fcu where we see aaron trying his best to get out there and make friends w/ aph's adorable support- he has the perfect opportunity to do it during moments like these but it never becomes more than just what seem like forced interactions. like UGH. UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. so. much. potentialll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! just gone. poof. a strong friendship between aaron and the ro'maeve brothers wouldve been so fucking ack. sfryquoeuiwhiblforhgubhjfwe. litera;;y/. now i wpuldve loved to see tht1!!!! it's also just so weird that we see a drastic change in aaron's character from fcu to myst, in fcu he's so shy and he's trying his best to be friends w others and he succeeds little by little (we never hear of these friends again but ok.) and then in ms we see him as this super chill dude w hot gains sigma male or whatever and his only friend is aph. he was so much more expressive during fcu and while many events occurred in between, it's just weird seeing him not get out there more during s1 esp considering the fact that he has more freedom to. ill mention this later. anyway-----

one thing i liked to see was aaron break out of his cool character during the spectacle of zanemau, another stupid attempt by jess to get another boy to get infatuated with aph which thankfully did not happen.. kind of. id love to see people talk about how zane just heavily depended on aph as an emotional support system and was just afraid aaron would take aph away from him, a feeling of abandonment rising out of his own self loathing yada yada. . while zanemau is a cool ship, this whole thing was jsut extreenmly forced-it was obvious it was just to get another guy to fawn over aph. i hate aph's harem. i'll get off topic if i talk about how every single boy within a 50 mile radius of aph falls head over heels in love with her, but anyhoo. i did get off topic.. . . . so aaron breaking his character was like this breath of fresh air for me. when he's in the resto's bathroom, talking to the mirror ab his frustrations ab aph going all flushed and orgasmy over zane bc of the love ption that he wasnt aware of and how he should stop whats going on bc of zianna (fucking hate her ass), he seemed like an actual person lmao. i love that scene alot because he wasn't just this cool chill flirt(for aph), his feelings finally poured out in some way. it made him a full fledged character (for a little..). then garroth came in and talked to him and whatbnit (another wasted opportunity to grow closer maybe??????? idk) and they went back to the table . i havent talked ab how much i loathe this whole zuzu aph arc though like oh my god it mustve been incredibly uncomfortable for aph and aaron sitting through all that. i hate zianna so much and it was also mega annoying of vylad and the brothers to drag them into this bc he couldnt say no to his mommy. it was genuinely weird and so many things in the show are brushed off as comedic relief- things borderline crazy and worthy of restraining orders and jail. literally. literal kids watch these and may think it's normal bhvr when it isnt. but anyway.

i know that mystreet s1 was a spin off of mcd that just blew up and multiplied into other seasons and as it doubled prequels like pdh and fcu came to life. im very much aware of the fact that jess just developed the characters in their modern steads as the story progressed because it wasnt done something beforehand- mystreet happened to be a happy accident and jess didn't plan the characters out beforehand, including the plot (horribly evident from the shit that started from s4). they developed as characters in stages as the stories went on and that's just painfully obvious, especially when we watch the series in the timeline jess posted it. we see how aaron goes from the stoic chill hot sigma male to this uwu boy personality, which was what jess wanted him as in the end ig? it's obviously very weird though. imo, my opinion, she shouldve kept aaron's laid back personality. through this we could see him gradually grow and insert himself into aph's friend grp as well. we see that happen during s2 and s3 of ms, where he does progress in terms of social interactions- hes seen to be cracking jokes outwardly, he even has his own lil comedic relief spiels, becomes good buds with dante and stuff (which went just as it came from what i remember :[[[) and in s3 he becomes much cooler and is more involved within the friend group. he also seemed to be like this in pdh, like during the dinner as i mentioned before.

during fcu, this just. changes. his character is very... emotional? i dont really know how to put it. it's out of character. he's incredibly shy and relies on aph as a social plug. while in pdh he seemed to be less awkward w social interactions, aaron was 100x times more awkward during fcu. he seemed overly sensitive, and at moments its like he needed to be coddled. i did love it when aph helped him grow more socially, but we see that in ms 1 he has no friends. he's like this hot lone wolf (..), a drastic contrast to what he wanted to be in fcu imo (i believe this because derek was off his back now and he had the freedom to do have more friends and emotional connections like these is what he desperately craved- it's something so evident.) he wanted to have more friends and be more social. while this does happen in fcu, in ms1 we don't really see the results coming into place. like he becomes much more bold- in fcu he used to flush and blush at just hearing aph's heartbeat and in ms1, that one instance where aaron gets picked to play romeo and aph is like "you do realise we gotta kiss?" he just goes "yeah." in the most casual way ever- like it's just another tuesday for him or somethin. it's just a weird ass change. his character fluctuates when we watch the show in the chronological order and it's jsut so out of place and while i know it's no fault to jess ( i mean it is but part of it is justified ) it's still incredibly weird. jess could have prevented this by just keeping him as the character she initially started with.

and his last form- season 5. starlight. god fuck- this aaron was such a fucking baby. if fcu aaron wanted to be coddled, starlight aaron straight up wanted milk from aph's bosoms. he becomes this uwu soft boi- and considering all of the events that unfolded, it's still weird. yes, many things happened during their time at the lodge but it's just so fucking weird!!!!! i don't even know what to make of it. i just hated his character in s5. he stuttered every 3 fucking seconds. jason voice acted him so bad like oh my god im so sorry but it was literally unbearable. rewatching starlight was fucking horrifying. the stupid ass dips in the voice- god fuck!!! im so sorry its just what i think but i really hated how jason voice acted aaron during s5. i liked the fact that he was more expressive but he just changed completely- and i liked the small part where he felt like everyone wanted him to be something different now that he was out as a werewolf, but he really did fucking change and it did not feel like he was aaron at all. it felt like seeing a 12 year old find out about age regression and implement it onto a character like aaron's. it felt childish and just weird. jess couldve done way better with aaron during s5.

this shit was long and i feel liek i still have a lot more to say and when i rememebr ill jsut edit it on. no ones probably gonna reach the end of this but if you did, idk how u got so much time reading all this but i lpve you

Okay, small disclaimer before we delve into this: this is solely based on the perception I have in my head of Adrian Chase. This also isn’t listed in any particular order (just the order I copied and pasted it from lol). The more i wrote the more carried away I got oops. this isn't edited or revised but just pure nonsense spewing from the depths of my mind

Words of affirmation

In my mind, Adrian will constantly tell you that he loves you and that he misses you–especially when appropriate after the relationship develops. Without a doubt, he would compliment you on your looks, your new haircut, if he likes an outfit, if you smell good. He’s a chatty guy, he will say whatever comes straight to his mind. As for other things, I think you would tell him if you like hearing if he’s proud of you or deeper words of affirmations like “I value you”--he would say it, but he definitely says it in his own way. He definitely shows his appreciation better than words because in my head, I don’t see him being the best at articulating his feelings into words. But like, “you’re awesome!” or “dude (affectionately), you have no idea how cool you are for doing that.” Again, not as deep or romantic, but you know the intention of it.

In bed? Different story. He loves praising you and….he loves being praised too. He will tell you how good you feel, how good you make him feel, complimenting anything his eyes land on, your skills, how in love he is with you.

Quality time

Adrian is a sucker for quality time. Adrian in my mind is a bit clingy, but not in a negative way. I’m sure he gave you the proper space when you ask, but as mentioned in my other writings–Adrian wants to do everything with you from the most mundane activities to the most exciting. Doctor’s appointment? He’d be there holding your hand. Sitting on the couch with you and doing separate hobbies (Idk, I can see him cleaning his weapons and you’re doing a normal hobby, with the tv on in the background)? His favorite. Cooking dinner? He’s right beside you, or sitting down nearby to talk and ramble. Dancing in the living room together? He’s throwing it back. Singing horribly in his Vigilante mobile? You know it.

Oh, don’t even get me started on his rambles. I’m not sure where this one falls in since it’s between physical touch and quality time, but I can vividly imagine this: two of you sitting on the couch, eating dinner, the tv playing in the background, your back is pressed against the arm of the couch and his is on the other, legs intertwined. Adrian is just talking, telling you random facts, stupid details about his day, going on about his missions that he promised he wouldn’t disclose with you (but does anyway), he talks about movies, the news—honestly, all everything and anything.

Just seeing you in his line of sight is comforting enough for him.

Coming back from patrols and missions truly makes his night when he comes home to see you, or knowing he’s hours closer to having you in his arms again.

He doesn’t want to miss a moment with you.

Physical touch

This one definitely develops in the span of a relationship, all for different reasons. Emotionally, I think it takes a bit for him to understand what feels nice to be comforted and how you want to be comforted because each person is different. But also for him? He gives me touch deprived energy before you came into his life.

He loves having you in his arms, making sure you feel safe and comfortable.

Basic things I’ve mentioned: massages, dancing, lotions on the leg, coming home and embracing you and lifting you off the ground with a twirl, peppering your face and neck with kisses, caressing your skin, needing to be touching you somehow, anyway.

Brushing your hair, taking baths and showers with you, love bites, holding your hand while driving, back rubs to help you fall asleep, laying his head in your lap, his hand on your thigh when sitting together, totally fine with being either the small or big spoon.

Obviously he can’t keep his hands off of you and you wouldn’t want them off of you.

This man will make sure you’re satisfied before the night ends. He’ll keep going until you both can’t anymore.

Acts of service

Adrian shows his love with acts of service. I feel like this one tied with quality time, just in the sense that in the beginning of the relationship, these were the top two dominant ones. The basic act of service would be doing anything to protect you, right? It’s a given. Domestic wise? He would spoil you with simple things. I mentioned this before, but he definitely would love helping you apply lotion to your body, massages (physical touch, I know, but your body aches and he just wants you to be feeling your best self), if you cook, he cleans the dishes–or sometimes he cooks too. Holding doors open for you, developing photos you take together, killing the scary bugs, definitely pampering you wholesomely and in a risque manner—this man ALWAYS asks what he can do to make your day better.

I can see him running a nice bath for you, pouring you a cheap glass of wine, heating up a towel for you when you get out, wrapping you up in one of his shirts or hoodies before pulling you into bed.

Receiving gifts

This may not be the typical gift, but I can’t see him having a whole lot of money, but he sure is thoughtful. He’ll surprise you with your favorite snacks (this could be acts of service too imo), if you have a favorite show/band/book he will try to buy you something that reminds you of it, or even merch. He’ll fill your gas tank up without telling you because he wants to surprise you. He’ll definitely come home with dinner from Fennel Fields too. Oh!!! If they go on a mission a bit far, Adrian will pick up something random, but something that reminds him of you.

A Day In The Month (Ch. 1)

So this is an idea I've had ever since last year but then I never did it lmao so I'm actually finally doing it this year. Unfortunately the "culture" desert banner sucks this year but I'll fix it lmao. Though that will come a bit later to space things out better unlike f-e-h blasting us with 3 seasonal banners back to back. And also cause I wanna get a mainline f=e story done first since changing things up is nice. And I wanna write about some big dudes now lol.

So withouth further ado, here's the beginning to even more of my usual self indulgent nonsense.

Warning: This is a fetish story!

The last remaining remnants of December's snow dust Askr's landscape; the still surviving greenery is powdered with modest amounts of snow. The climate still a persistent chilling cold no matter how one bundles up, the day is far kinder when it comes to weather. The sun happily takes its rightful place in the sky with days slowly starting to become longer, but still offers a nice cooling coverage with the partly cloudy sky. It is as if Askr is recompensing its heroes for enduring its winter — a winter that many heroes find surprisingly light, mainly those from colder, harsher climates such as Daein or Illia. But as Askr is a kind and forgiving land, it still gladly gives back for what small trials it makes its citizens endure. Especially on such a momentous occasion.

The entire Order of Heroes seems to be in a lively chaotic state from today marking the beginning of the new year. Several various groups are already enjoying their time together to mark and bring in good tidings for the year. Such as the royal Macedonian family who — despite the bickering between Minerva and Michalis — at least share an awkward moment together for Maria's and each other's sake. Or the two Lycian Marquesses who hold the other in too tight embraces bordering on improper as they watch Roy and Lilina make their wishes for the new year.

With the entire castle in such a peaceful yet hectic state, finding at least a semi reclusive spot is truly a monumental job to fulfill for anyone not a native Askran. Thankfully for Kiran, spending his sixth consecutive new years in Askr leaves him up to the task. Having found this spot some time ago upon his constant marches with various teams, the secluded view more than makes up for the lack of a shrine but not more importantly, the hike.

Kiran's heavy breathing can be heard beside the snapping twigs and crunching of snow under several pairs of sandals. Kiran always bordering on what he prefers to describe as "portly", a term now synonymous with obese amongst the rest of the Order, it is clear that hiking is far from the top of Kiran's preferred activities. With a large, bulging gut that sloshes and slaps against his meaty, rotund thighs, Kiran looks and feels like the quarter ton pounder that he is. Which when coupled with his outstanding height of being taller than any other person in the Order, makes Kiran a beast of a man, an extremely sedentary obese one but a beast nonetheless. He fills out his custom sized kimono rather generously. His outfit resembles his usual summoner attire in color scheme with its vibrant whites paired with rich, deep blues. Despite all attempts at a better, tighter job, Kiran's obi is loosely tied so as to fit around his chair crushing hips and lap filling gut — and said sash still accentuates Kiran's curves from the tight fit. At the very least Kiran's tubby, flabby thighs are covered up by his hakama. Which is due to the fact that the lower fabric had to be made extra wide so as to wrap around his prodigious rear that wobbles with each increasingly tired step. Kiran's large jutting gut also doesn't help the situation with his hakama, both sides of the fabric bulging out to encompass so much girth. Kiran's kimono is partially opened from his large, grabbable breasts. And to accommodate needing such high amounts of fabric to cover Kiran horizontally, Kiran's haori only comes down a few inches past his love handles that are soft and plush enough to grab onto with a pair of hands and then some. The craftsmanship of Askr's seamsters are on complete display with how Kiran's outfit manages to stay perfectly on him and still flatteringly outline his rotund shape. A shape that Kiran has possessed throughout his entire time in Askr and even before that, Kiran's size always a shock to every newcomer.

So used to his great weight, Kiran doesn't mind his size. Indulging in extra meals and extra snacks has always been a pleasure to the man to reach such a size. A size he currently curses even as he finally reaches the top of the hill and his destination.

Kiran gladly uses the moment to catch his breath by taking in deep breaths of the cold, crisp air. Needing to be helped along the way, Kiran pulls back both of his grasped hands and rests them on his ponderous gut. He gets in his thank you's in between tired breaths, Kiran knowing the extra time needed if not for the assistance.

Kiran bringing along some special heroes, all six that accompany Kiran are the ones that he has made a closest bond with throughout his years in the Order of Heroes.

Tibarn and Duma the two to have stayed behind to specifically help Kiran up the hill, both of the men are extremely well-built. Both of them have been in the order for quite some time now. Though Tibarn is much more receptive and eager to Kiran's affection; the boisterous hawk king is far more outgoing in comparison to Kiran. Duma is much more reclusive of the two, the divine dragon far too prideful of his reputation to partake in much when it came to displays of affection not meant to mark Kiran as his.

Seteth and Freyr led the group up to ensure a safe path with no proper trail, The two of them joined the Order later than the others. And their personalities mirror each other rather similarly, both toned men quite serious and modest in personality. Though Seteth is far more down to earth and secretly shy when it comes to most public displays of affection, much unlike Freyr's usual airy, presence that makes it hard for him to parse usual proper public displays of humans when it comes to being the ruler of the realm of dreams.

Grima and Corrin in the middle of the group, the two svelte men had joined the Order very early on. Still a rather rude, crass person resembling the fell dragon, Grima has at least learned to control his emotions in a better way. Though he still gets irate whenever someone new gets close to the summoner. Corrin much the opposite, he had always been nervous and shy when it came to himself. A trait which has thankfully eased from his time in Askr but especially his time with Kiran.

All six of them now wait for Kiran to complete the last, short trek of their hike.

Kiran taking in a good, last few wheezes, he lets out a great deep breath of air before continuing on. Seeing them all lined waiting for him, Kiran can't help but feel partially bad. Although he loves his size, Kiran can't help but wonder what it would feel like to be strong, to have big bulging muscles like the Radiant Hero Ike, or the Rigelian King Rudolf. To have muscles that others would envy rather than simply being the envious one. But when his stomach grumbles in hunger, Kiran ignores his own thoughts to focus on the main goal of catching up to get a proper look at the view — and to have a picnic to satisfy his hunger.

As Kiran gets ever closer to his destination, unbeknownst to him, he is being watched.

Far above even the tall mountain that Kiran and the rest have climbed, the god of Askr and Embla are seated. Both their countries named after each other, the two countries' rocky but bettering relationships mirror their own patron deities. The two are currently breaking in the new year with one another; the two sit a few feet apart, though that is more on Embla's end on purposefully keeping her distance from Askr.

"Look Embla, see how the humans appreciate each other," Askr leans closer as if to get a better view despite being further than a hundred feet. Askr's idea to spy on his summoner, Kiran's clear enjoyment of people mirrors the bull's own sentiments of being around others. "Such close bonds they share," Hunched over, Askr doesn’t bother sneaking glances at Embla, already quite aware of her usual demeanor and expressions.

Embla seethes as she gazes upon Kiran and the rest. Her wings slightly unfurl for only a momentary second before curling back into their usual closed state. "You must be kidding. Humans? The only one amongst them is that vexing summoner of yours," Embla scoffs as she looks at the rest of the men. "The rest of them are either dragons or beasts, they're nothing like humans,"

"Oh, I'm glad you noticed," Askr's tail flicks behind him. "I'm sure so many of our kind can coexist and even love a human, then I'm certain that should be lesson enough to try and reach-"

"Silence,"

To Askr's credit, he listens to Embla's command.

"You continue to be so… completely unbearable," Embla huffs, a dainty finger curling the unruly white hair as she grumbles over Askr's ever irritating words. The wind faintly flitters by her in an embracing cool breeze. Embla's face darkens upon mulling over Askr's words; though instead of attempting to understand the lesson, she grows more frustrated. Frustrated at Askr's incessant lecturing. Frustrated at being summoned by Askr's summoner. Frustrated at Askr's lecture of her stemming from Kiran's own behavior.Her attention shifting towards the summoner, Embla smirks to herself.

"How about this then? Why don't I allow that human to receive a blessing of mine, as a gesture of my appreciation to such lowly creatures," Embla grins as she lifts a hand. Finding Askr's summoner as irritable as him, Embla finds that perhaps it would be fitting to make them even more alike one another. Her hand pulses with dark energy; the sinister looking magic is far more deadly looking than it actually is, the spell only a mere transformation one to turn Kiran into a bull like Askr.

"Great idea!" Askr perks up in his spot. He can sense zero malice behind Embla's magic. "A small boon from each of us would only be fair after he's saved both of our realms countless times, don't you agree?" Askr channeling his own magic, the brightly shining aura grows in intensity the longer Askr holds it in his hand. "I've heard some complaints from him earlier so I'm sure he wouldn't mind a bit more strength," Releasing his spell, Askr watches his spell shimmer into near translucent sparkles.

"Whatever," The fun now taken out of it due to Askr's own enjoyment, Embla refuses to recant her own blessing. And so, after quickly blowing her hair out of her face, Embla releases her spell to closely trail behind Askr's own.

The cold air pulses with energy, two god's potent magic combining and swirling with one another. The twinkling of magic is imperceptible to nearly all of creation, the torrent of magic slowly cascading down to its recipient.

Above even Askr and Embla's already lofty view is the trickster god, Loki. Perfectly concealed through the use of her own magic, she spies on the two gods spying on the summoner.

"Ugh, so dull those two," With a great, big sigh, she shakes her head in clear disapproval of the two. "Now, let me make this a little more interesting, I can't believe I know better on what the poor little summoner really wants," Loki leans on her staff, the edge of it more flat to allow non wielders the opportunity to use such items in slight comfort Unlike others, Loki can clearly see the flow of magic. She can hear the very air crackle with pure, divine energy. “And if I enjoy it too, the more the merrier,” As she says this, Loki instantly conjures up her own spell with a snap of her finger; sending it to join the other bundle of pure, magical energy, Loki is enraptured as the air sparks with such boundless energy. Her magic lurches at the gods of Zenith’s own, overtaking it and swaddling it in its own magic. As if fighting each other for a few moments, Loki’s own magic manages to assimilate itself. Resembling the other’s magic, disguising it entirely is still an impossible task for Loki, the gods’ antics unable to fully overpower one.

“That’ll have to do,” With a wave of her hand, Loki sends the mass of magic further on its way. She leaves without a flourish, quick to leave before Thorr can arrive.

The crackling air falls on deaf ears as it travels through the air. Ever so slowly, the potent magic draws ever closer.

Unfortunately, Kiran is unable to detect the pulsing energy, such divine boons imperceptible to mortals. The food in front of him would make it challenging for him to perceive such a thing if he even could however. The picnic set up, Kiran’s huge gut pools into his thighs while he sits. The ground far from the most comfortable place to sit, his prodigious rear helps cushion the seating. Though the same lower half makes it hard for Kiran to adjust his position, such wide, doughy thighs and ass make it hard for him to sit in any position besides with his legs spread out in front of him.He does at least have a whole tree to support him, the picnic setup to allow a modicum of comfort. Kiran’s stomach grumbles from the upcoming feast, even as he already eats the food placed in front of him. The sturdy tree dutifully withstands Kiran’s weight even as he fully leans against the tough surface, folds of fat squished against it. Engrossed in devouring the large sandwich in his hands, Kiran can barely hear Grima’s usual irritated tone.

“What is the purpose of such a pointless day? It is the same as any other,” With one arm crossed, Grima passes a plate over to Kiran before crossing both arms once more. Seated on the picnic blanket, Grima grumbles to himself as he mulls over the reasoning of worms. “To attribute such pointless meaning to a random day is,,,” Grima huffs to himself, stewing in his own pointless anger. “It is ridiculous,”

“Who cares? An excuse to relax once in a while is an excuse I’ll take,” Tibarn lightly pushes Grima on the arm, the short dragon visibly moving. Tibarn helps himself to the bevy of prepared food. His plate is stacked with meat, meat, and more meat. “A nice break before some training is far from terrible,” Raising an eyebrow, Tibarn expectantly eyes Grima.

Grima groans. “Fine,” Despite his supposed irritation, Grima smirks. The two arguing an amount that should normally be considered far from healthy, the two’s usual bickering merely came about from the two wishing to be stronger than the other, petty, meaningless squabbles nearly always leading to sparring matches.

Matches and arguments that would usually be intervened or stopped by Seteth or Freyr. Though Seteth is currently speaking with Corrin, unaware of the two’s now unstoppable training. Freyr seated next to both Tibarn and Grima, the dream king remains silent. Instead, he chooses to keep his eyes closed, taking deep yet silent breaths while sitting cross legged with a straight back. Freyr’s posture more closely resembles being in deep meditation than deep slumber but none can really be too sure when it comes to the King of Dreams.

So Tibarn gives him a gentle shove, Freyr barely budging an inch.

His eyes do shoot wide open however, as though broken out of a trance. “Ah, forgive me. New Year’s is a rather taxing day for myself. With so many more dreams during this period, I find myself needing to focus to concentrate,” Speaking his piece, Freyr closes his eyes once more. He returns to his calm state, blocking out the words and actions of everyone else.

Seteth speaks with Corrin over exactly such things, the two’s conversation much more typical for the new year than Tibarn’s and Grima’s.

“I.. Well my resolution isn’t anything special.” Corrin doesn’t have a proper response to Seteth’s question, the subject completely innocuous. But to Corrin, anything requiring a semblance of introspection feels like being impaled by a naginata. He takes deep breaths, appreciative of Seteth’s patience. “I want to control my powers even better,” Corrin lets out. He rubs his arms and lets out an apologetic smile. “I don’t have any sort of grandiose plans or wishes. I think it’d be best to focus on myself,” ‘Especially after how well everything worked out for me, Corrin thinks, wishing to speak his mind after having his whole life torn away from him. But he doesn’t instead trying his best to focus on the now.

“There is no shame in focusing on one’s self. In fact,taking the time and effort to better yourself is nothing short of commendable,” Despite being aware of Corrin’s past of being abandoned, Seteth still speaks as he normally would, Seteth kind and appreciative. “You’ve already thrived splendidly in Askr, I’m sure this year will even be more fruitful for you,” Seteth smiling at the now at ease Corrin, his attention suddenly shifts towards Duma. “Unlike certain others,” Seteth, equally critical as kind, disapprovingly eyes him.

Duma is just barely within earshot of the rest of the group. He keeps his distance from them. His back is to them, Duma resting against a tree as he stands. Duma glares at the sky, his eyes squinting at nothing — at least nothing to the rest. In reality, Duma stares at the approaching bundle of magic. Not of this world, even he can at least sense the ancient, powerful strength behind such a thing. Duma senses the odd amalgamation of energy, the four different traces similar — something Duma supposes is from the fact that all the magic must originate from this world — yet different enough to break apart. Duma uses no finesse in his method, simply willing his own divine energy to overpower and destroy all of the magic. His eyes narrow at the shimmering sphere of energy; it mutates in panic, the magic itself somehow screaming and writhing from the attack. One strain of magic sticks out to Duma, the presence agonizingly taunting him for not recognizing it.

Unfortunately for Duma, the magic he fails to recognize is Freyr’s very own enchantment. The god of dreams lying about the day’s stress, he too had sensed the energy coming their way. Attempting to disarm it himself, Freyr’s magic is far more delicate yet dangerous. Attempting to mimic and diffuse the spells with unknown effects had been an intricate process made impossible due to Freyr feeling the muddling of his precognition. Only able to attempt and place a dampener on the magic, the effort is now wasted as Duma assaults the Freyr’s and the rest of the gods’ spell.

The spell swells with even more energy. Duma strengthening it to eventually throttle the arcane magic, the enchantment begins to grow haywire with too many alterations from different divinities attached to it. Though soon, the spell shrinks, the shimmering energy losing its twinkling as its volume decreases. The spell shrinks and shrinks, the abundant energy seemingly losing its power. Duma grins to himself, his brute strength able to bring all to heel, no matter how many may try to rival him — Duma clearly forgetting about being exiled by Naga.

And then the spell explodes, an imperceptible sound shattering the sky as its effects burst in all directions. The magic seeps everywhere, the enchantment coating the texture of Zenith to seep and spread everywhere. The effect goes unnoticed to everyone, even the very gods tampering with one another’s magic are unaware of the shifting of fate and reality.

All anyone can feel is their own hope for a good new year. Kiran included who lazily gazes at the view in front of him. The summoner can feel that the coming year will be nothing but good.

this is more of a rant. so it's gonna be a bit more jumbled and unorganized.

but ep 14 was to me what ep 12 appeared to be to everyone else. a headscratcher. like, i was asking my cat why and wtf about every 10 seconds.

partly because i misunderstood: i thought JH already knew MW was sleeping with YR (at the beginning, there's a surveillance picture of MW in the hallway in front of YR door) so i didn't understand why he didn't say so to JW when she came up with that nonsensical seduction plan.

but furthermore - that seduction plan. shouldn't JW by that point already know MW well enough to know that he will cheat, no matter who he married? also, by taking such an active part, isn't she really dirtying her hands now? the fact that show framed it around JHs discomfort / acceptance about the plan, and not the moral implications for JW was a total miss for me.

but then, the whole framing of the episode was off. when JW went with JR to catch her husband, i thought this cathartic smashing of the table and the (re-) traumatizing impact of having the situation play out exactly the same way would kind of uncork her feelings and she would finally grapple with the severity of what's happened to her and what now must happen to someone else.

i expected to have that whole pain and anger and guilt and fear come together and explode out of her. for her to tearily scream at JR in the parking lot to accept help, to painstakingly paint a picture of the path men like this will take to get their way and to kind of create a mirror situation to ep 7 to show her character growth at the same time. (it would also have better foreshadowed the end of the episode.)

instead we have those issued shipped off to another love line. can't one woman stay happily single? be better off on her own?

i don't know... the whole episode just felt strange.

also, it really undercut JH. i mean that man has been telling us for the whole show, that he's capable of doing almost anything and that he has this great power, yet he can't figure out that they are being tailed by more than just LS (who told him! and said he should do something similar!)? and LSs tail can't figure out that there's another tail? and JH is not countering this? this dude is an allpowerful chaebol who knows the game? who knows the next 10 years? who doesn't foresee how YR will react even with the knowledge of his past life? who doesn't equip the love of his life with this knowledge? and who has all the resources at his disposal but can only protect her by driving in front of a truck?

what have they been talking about the whole time? i hope at least about stock investements....

and don't get me started on his miraculous recovery after apparently being at a 'we're not sure if/when he's gonna wake up' stage just shortly prior. (once again setting up stakes and not following through.)

or JW being all bashful. that woman was married. she's capable of sharing a bed with a man, whether it be for sex or in a non-sexual manner. if you wanna make her hesitant about it, then address the fact that sex with MW was probably not pleasurable and another pressure point for his abuse in various way. but i do concede that that would probably be too dark for this drama. (although i can think of a lot of ways they could have allluded to it throughout the show.)

also, can someone explain the end? why wasn't she fighting back? and please, take off your heels in a situation like this ffs. that really had me screaming at my tv.

wish and the star boy we never got is proof of my long standing theory that disney (and animation as a whole) needs to bring back cute boys. they stopped featuring them as much back when frozen came out to focus more on famalial love and i respect that. however, that was the tail end of an era where animated movies were almost always guaranteed to have one super cute boy. this was the thing that brought audiences in. i swear to god until i was like 18-19 if an animated movie had a cute boy, i and all my friends were there opening night. a movie could look like pure garbage and if a boy was cute we were there. and of course there are other factors like the other character's designs and music if it's a musical, but cool designs didn't go anywhere and i, as well as many people, can overlook a bad musical if the animated dude is pretty (quest for camelot is a movie that exists). like why do you think anime really became so popular amongst preteen/teenage girls? they'll outright tell you, just go in the tags. it's the cute boys. cute boys bring in audiences.

it's not sexism, it's not heteronormativity, it's not "teaching girls all they're good for is marriage" or whatever the fuck people were complaining about ten years ago when disney made the executive decision to step away from having cute boys and by extension started a trend of studios doing that; it's the simple fact that people, especially girls, tend to like cute animated boys. and yeah people like pretty and cute animated girls too but that's kinda the whole point of disney princesses. we don't even need cute boys as love interests, in movies like treasure planet and rise of the guardians there is no romantic subplot for either of the movies' cute boys. it's just cute boys doing cool stuff with other well designed characters.

i feel the overwhelming response of disappointment when the star boy concept art was released is proof that, at the end of the day, animation fans want more cute boys. and i agree. you wanna actually sell that shit to your main demographic of kids, specifically girls, aged 10 and up? cute boys worked every damn time for decades. it only became less prevalent in the 2010s when people decided we for whatever reason didn't need the cute boys and nixed them completely in an attempt to seem progressive and not "reduce" any girl protags to love interests. which is an awful way to refer to writing a love story btw, we need to work on that because that gets said every time this happens and it's weird people can't fathom a strong, independent girl who also has a boyfriend. and yes, yes it's better if she has a girlfriend but there is still a desire to see a cute boy character on screen. the best animated movies from the 90s-2000s all had them and everyone vividly remembers a time where that drawing was their husband or literally them. it's important for some weird reason for cute animated boys to exist and the star boy proves that these movies would do way better with cute boys.

and the "boy" in question doesn't even need to be human or whatever. you think zootopia sold because the trailers actually looked good? what about sing? god no. no matter how much i like those movies, the trailers made them look like trash, but the power of cute boys prevailed even when the "boys" are a fox and a gorilla.

ik this rant is long and it seems pointless but i feel like i cracked the code for why so many animated movies have been sucking harder than ever and it's because for almost two generations we had cute boys to soften the blow of a bad animated movie and now we have more evidence that they're actively making decisions to cause that. i said this about five years ago when i realized the majority of cute animated boys were furries or anime boys and now i see this star boy shit. and i'd been saying how ugly i think the star is for months beforehand too when merch started popping up.

i just feel like they could have avoided fucking themselves so hard if they just let the cute boy exist. i genuinely feel people would at least be more likely to see the movie but most people didn't even bother and the people who did say don't bother. but if a cute boy was there and they used his song as the trailer? we'd wanna know what this little magic man was about. we'd wanna see how things panned out between him and hero girl. and if it ended up being bad we'd all say "yeah but the designs were good" or some shit and disney would get that sweet, sweet centennial money. but that's not what happened because some moron somewhere decided girls don't want to see cute boys in their princess movies and a chain reaction started that won't stop until disney undoes it and gives us a goddamn cute boy. and that's not even a joke. that's my honest to god theory for how to save mainstream animated movies. we saw a glimpse of this with spider-verse. like those movies ate but a big draw for both of them was the fact that there was a cute boy for everyone to crush or project on. we need cute animated boys now more than ever.

Hey u wanna see how hard I can ramble about homestuck classpects AND hazy river character analysis at the same time?? Too bad!! You will!!

SO holy fuck I've been trying to come up with homestuck classpects for Annie and garcello for the LONGEST time and Annie has ALWAYS been a problem area for me cause of her lack of real story and canon characterization

Garcello imo is a rogue of doom, the rogue class steals their aspect for the betterment of others and well.... "stealing doom" in a way for someone else's benefit is literally exactly what he does in seos!! And the description of a doom player's personality really does fit him!! Easy right?

But then Annie. Oh my fucking gog

She has almost 0 canon dialogue and little to no story. The only instances of her even talking were the butter comic and snowed in. We might have some backstory shit that's been shared around before and Drowning of course but other than that she doesn't have much of a real storyline.

I've discussed this on discord and a lot of ideas were thrown around like maybe void, for her aspect, which does fit in a meta sense considering all beyond-surface-level characterization for her is pretty hard to find or completely unknown, and I've thought about either time or hope or rage being her aspect based on personality descriptions and her weaponizing rage in her liquid form but none seemed to really fit perfectly for her, especially when trying to pick a class.

(Before you bring up seos with lyrics as much as I ADORE how Annie is acted in it holy fuck dude it still gives me chills it is not canon)

Then it fucking hit me. Hope is literally perfect in a meta sense (and I'm operating on homestuck logic so I'm allowed to do that hehehhehe)

How we perceive Annie as a character is based a ton on fanon. Ideas like her having self esteem issues, for example, were extrapolated by fandom because of Good Enough being her first song. The butter comic, the first of only 2 times she's spoken in any official capacity, came from THE FANDOM MAKING SHIT UP and then anne making a comic based on it. Other bits of characterization from discord were gleaned from THE FANDOM ACTIVELY WANTING IT.

The hope aspect in homestuck is strongly connected with believing in something so hard it becomes real. This is seen with Jake's creation of brain ghost dirk, and eridan making a plain ass wand and then believing it's some powerful God weapon, and then it actually being powerful

Do. Do you see what I'm getting at here. Her whole character is heavily based in what we think it is based on what little we have. If that doesn't make her being a hope player fucking perfect i don't know what does.

As for class tho I'm a little bit stumped. I'm feeling like maybe witch since the 2 most prominent witches in homestuck do remind me a lot of her, personality-wise. They're also characters who have a particularly strong connection with the magic and power their classpect gives them. Jade's been experiencing the weird magicy shit that relates to her role within sburb and homestuck's narrative her whole life. Feferi's biggest move as the witch of life is very personal to her, talking to the horrorterrors to create the dream bubbles was only possible cause of her existing connection to a similar creature, being her lusus.

And annies liquid, while already being just a badass magical tool by itself, feels an awful lot like an extension of her energetic, over-the-top personality. Just more violent. The fact it canonically makes her more animalistic and instinctual just carries on her existing animal theming.

Also hope has a lotta religious theming and Annie has been connected with imagery of devil horns a LOT. Just thought that was neat.

Annieway tldr after over a year of thinking about this and having an epiphany watching a laureledeevees video about Jake English and lots of wiki and extended zodiac reading.. Garcello is a rogue of doom and Annie is a witch of hope
