Never having seen the 2005 Pride and Prejudice, we watched it tonight.
It appears in all my ravings of the book and the 1995 mini over the year, the following plot points missed Sean:
Who Wickham is.
That Darcy sabotaged Jane and Bingley.
That Darcy unfucks himself.
Y'all, he cried during the second proposal scene. He does not cry like I cry at movies. This is an achievement.
Many other achievements:
Having Collins having a sweet face and terrible haircut and just being LIKE that.
Collins coming up to Darcy from behind and being SO MUCH SMALLER.
Collins wanting to sit next to his wife. In his weird way, he's a dutiful husband.
CHARLOTTE I LOVE YOU.
That's it. They did right by my girl.
YOU TOO MARY.
I did not know that Donald Sutherland was Mr. Bennett, and my god, he's perfect. A layered performance with kindness, compassion, sarcasm, and a little bit of asshole. Who clearly has affection for his wife. Which I argue the lack of is a weakness in the 1995 mini.
And, Mrs. Bennett in this is much more layered in her approach to everything. Still a bit crass in all the ways and shown to be very unlike her husband in many ways, but not as...flittery as the 1995 version, if that makes sense.
Look, I love the 1995 mini, but the way the Bennetts were portrayed as Mr. Bennett hating his wife and Mrs. Bennett being constantly dizzy with the womanly concerns doesn't match the tone of the book at all, imho.
Bingley is a golden retriever, as it should be.
I love they were like, "We need the most ethereally beautiful person in the world to be Jane. Someone even more strikingly beautiful than Kiera Knightly." I assume Rosamund Pike just appeared from the heavens on gossamer wings.
The dancing scenes were beautiful.
I have many, many more thoughts, but that's good for now. It is an absolutely beautiful adaptation of an absolutely immortal story, and I love it so much.
WAIT ONE MORE: Lizzie's ruffle on the collar calling back to Darcy's neckcloths when they were having moments of connection; ESPECIALLY IN THE LETTER SCENE when Lizzie finds that Lydia has run away. They're both in black. She's got the white collar ruffle. No doubt Lizzie is certain that if she'd accepted Mr. Collins, Lydia would not have been allowed to go to Brighton because she would have secured the house for her sisters through her marriage. And Darcy, fearing another young girl being tricked by Wickham, feeling a duty to fix things because he could have stopped this by just being like, "THIS DUDE'S A CREEP."
Anyway, done now. (YES THE HAND FLEX I KNOW)

Oh are we doing Director Cuts again? I'd love you to tlk more about Something In Seattle please!! Anything you want, but I'd like to know what inspired you for the forest scene?
Tbh it can always be director's cut time, i fucking love talking lol, so thank you for asking!!!!!!!!!!!! On to some more info dumping about Someone in Seattle's forest scene :)
Inspiration for Lando's Styling:
This is a bit layered. It started, I think, back in January with my regular rewatch of 2005's Pride and Prejudice. Of course, that naturally lead to the question: how would I make that into a landoscar fic?
After talking about it on tumblr, @redcowboy1 made the horrifically influential comment: "AND u can imagine lando in the iconic 2005 white outfit with pearls... in his curly hair!". It ruined me. It's still ruining me. It will always ruin me. I don't even know if I've told him how much that comment ruined me.
I thought of direct Pride and Prejudice fics, I thought of Pride and Prejudice inspired fics, but nothing really stuck? So when I realized this was the moment where I could do it all (ethereal white outfit, pearls in the hair,,, fae-like blush,,,,) I went IN.
Shockingly, that isn't the only super loose 2005 P&P reference in that scene. There's also this:
Giving in to childish instinct, Lando jumps up onto the stump; Oscar’s arm follows him like a guide, a gentleman helping his lady into her carriage.  Lando’s fingers flex against his.  Realizing his mistake, having breached professionalism, he drops it.
Hand Scene, anyone? No?
The Setting:
This was actually really heavily inspired by my own childhood. I grew up with my home backing onto a massive forest that you could explore via a broken fence post :) Just like in this fic :)
Almost all the key elements are lifted from my own experience in the forest, like the creek with the massive tree fallen across it. That was real!!!!!! it's actually the center of a lot of my happiest childhood memories.
In the winter, my sister and I used to go exploring in the woods -- the feeling of a river so cold that it makes the air around it painful is so visceral to me. We used to walk across the tree that Lando posed on to the get to the other side, though I fell off more than once lol.
Something that I tried to capture is the extraordinary alien-ness that comes with the Pacific Northwest's forests. They're incredibly dense, with a mix of obscuring low-crawling plants like ferns and massive evergreens like nothing you've ever seen before. It truly makes it feel like the air is green, like you can't see the sky -- and even if you could, maybe it wouldn't be the same sky you saw elsewhere.
I guess, in a way, maybe I kind of wrote it from the perspective of a small child. I kind of gave the impression that Lando and Oscar are dwarfed by the nature around them -- like I scaled the entire thing up, because that's how I remember it.
Anyways, enough rambling. I found a few pictures that inspired me while I was writing: the tree stump pose, general foliage 1, general foliage 2
Other Fun Facts:
Atypically of me, I wrote this fic out of chronological order. I started it when I was sick (yes, at the same time that i started the wildly different Choking on Greatness), and my fevered brain just produced a bunch of random little scenes. One of those scenes was a solid chunk of their time in the forest.
Honestly, that's probably why this scene feels like the "main event" -- in terms of how I wrote this fic, I really wrote most of it around this moment.
Another fun fact is that I tried to imply that Lando was waiting for a doorknob confession when they got to their cars; he wanted Oscar to come kiss him.
Lando’s hand is on his car’s door handle, but he’s looking at Oscar like there’s something left to say – to do. His lips part slightly, not enough to talk but maybe enough to tempt, if things were different, if he wasn’t here because he’s doing Oscar a favor. Lando’s eyes flutter closed, only opening when Oscar speaks.
don't think I actually nailed it, but hey. Can't win 'em all.

I totally get your point on realistic queer media vs BL and I'm also super interested to see which way the eight sense leans. I agree it'll probably go more on the side of realistic queer media (whereas I think unintentional love story will fall more on the BL side). I will say that having watched just about every gay korean film and short film I could find over the span of a two week period when I had covid, they do seem to like angst but with happy endings. I can only think of a few that ended sadly. But unfortunately the ones that ended sadly ended VERY sadly. I guess we'll see! I also want to say I'm impressed with the acting and how full the scenes feel so far, like with background characters and stuff. This doesn't seem like there's a huge production budget but it seems bigger than a lot of KBLs and its used very well so far, it really feels like a kdrama and the cinematography is fantastic.
The framing of scenes and such is also clearly done really thoughtfully and has emphasized the actors' chemistry (which is so good). While some things might be a little obvious, it's also well done so far; like I love the shot of their legs walking on the beach where Ji Hyun stutters his steps to get back in perfect sync with Jae Won and the close up of their hands touching when he gives Jae Won the lighter. I like shows that have more small touches and details like that! Reminds me of Mr. Darcy's hand flex after helping Elizabeth into the carriage in pride and prejudice if you've ever seen the 2005 movie of that lol.
I do hope they end it well. I haven't seen a lot of sad endings out of Korea but as they branch out and experiment with BL and queer stories... you never know what they're gonna do. We saw a lot more of that in some early Thai BL and it's coming back in their more experimental stuff and we know Taiwan and Japan are both just kind of... generally dangerous in those terms.
Honestly, for all that I can see the danger in The Eighth Sense, I think we'll get a happy ending. I think it's going to be painful and I wouldn't be surprised at a time jump... but I think the ending itself will give us something but I am also very open that I could be proven wrong.
I love the dynamics and the characters and the careful closeups and the reactions that feel natural and very queer. Oh, the queer waves coming off these boys and the way JaeWon and JiHyun just... pause around each other. There's a palpable change in their energy once they're together and when JaeWon insists his friends go back to the place he knew JiHyun worked? Yeah, that energy was gorgeous.
I am looking forward to this show with only the small hesitation of how much pain is coming out way for these boys, the popular boy in the closet and the loner who seems to basically be a closet, lonely and soft and unsure... oh, this is gonna ache.

As a new member of the Toten BBF fanclub I present you some of my own scenarios:
1. The two going on a pranking spree. Their main target is Hawks cause they see him as both a ShigaDabi threat and they can tell he's sus as hell. Dabi approves for the latter and Spinner approves for the former.
2. Marathon movie night. Toga being scandalized when she learns Geten never watched any Disney/Pixar classics or just pre-quirk classics in general. She makes him watch all of then (princesses, Fox & the Hound, Great Mouse Detective, Robin Hood, Aristocats, Toy Story, Wall E, Monsters Inc, Lilo & Stitch, all of them). Afterwards, they experience Barbieheimer (in costume of course). Barely holding back tears with Everything Everywhere All at Once. Falling in love with period dramas, specifically Jane Austen stories (2005 Pride & Prejudice, my beloved). Watching ALL the shitty Netflix romcoms, not because they like them but because they're so bad that it's become a type of anger outlet for them (Twilight, Kissing Booth, 365 Days, 50 Shades of Grey, etc). Dabi once made a comment about how Dead Poets Society sounded boring and it got UGLY.
3. If Curious somehow survived, Geten furiously defending Toga from his bitch of a coworker. Out of all the MLA, Curious is the worst when it comes to dehumanizing the LOV and no way would the persistent journalist stop when they become the PLF. She's borderline harassing all the LOV, but especially Toga. When Geten starts warming up to Toga, he breaks into Curious' things and destroys her incredibly insulting article on Toga. He starts physically getting between the two and acting like Toga's shield. If Curious manages to reach Toga when he's not around, all Toga has to do is send a quick message and Curious barely avoids an ice shard to the head. This along with Geten’s constant glares and both Shigaraki & ReDestro ordering her finally gets Curious to back off.
4. Geten and Toga having sleepovers with late night conversations. Geten confessing his insecurities regarding his own personal identity outside the PLF (now that he's finally had chance to develop). Toga confiding in him all about her different crushes. Sharing their respective pastsand comforting each other. Just two besties being super soft with each other.
5. Baking together. I hc that out of all the LOV the best cook, Dabi is best cook. The rest are all disasters in the kitchen or never had the proper chance to learn. If you're sick of convenience store food and want something nice and homemade, you got to Dabi (he's too soft to say no). The domesticity of it and it baing made by Dabi make his cooking on very high demand (to the point the LOV ignore the professionally made 5 star meals). Geten hears about this and doesn't believe it. He is absolutely shocked at how delicious Dabi's cooking actually is (I'm talking like Shirou Emiya/Chef Bakugou levels) and being Geten, vows to surpass him. Surprise, surprise, Geten is part of the "disaster in the kitchen" group. But he turns out to be a pretty good baker/pastry chef, something Dabi never got the hang of. Capitalizing on this, Geten gets very good at making sweets that are both delicious and are super detailed/very artsy. He gets especially fond if making ultrarealistic cakes cause it's fun to surprise people with them. Toga wastes no time in joining him on his pastry quest and becomes his right hand man. Turns out Toga is very good with making details and with coming up with new patterns. Geten himself prefers bitter sweets but he doesn't mind sweeter flavors cause Toga and most of the PLF prefer them. Also they have pranked the others with the ultrarealistic cakes by taking objects and replacing them with cake. Also Geten helping Toga make Izuku & Ochako Valentines chocolates. The heroes in question are disturbed at how said chocolates came into their possessions but delighted at the taste (they were scolded by Eraserheard for not checking for poison or smth)
Bestie toten is already the ship name of Tenko x Touya, so we need to find a better name for the Toga and Geten friendship!!!
1) I think Geten would absolutely hate Hawks 'cause he'd see him as a threat to ReDestro too. Also Geten doesn't trust in Dabi having friends so wjdjdnjdjd Toga's in for the funsies
2) They are wasting ReDestro money again on streaming services but it's okay! ReDestro thinks it is wonderful they are getting along!! Twice's constantly joining the marathons and soon some of those nights become the PLF official movie nights (not all of them, not that often, just occasional). Geten is fascinated.
3) Curious is 100% because Toga make sure of that herself, so 😏😏 peace of mind.
4) Imagine how tragic this would be if those nights started soon before the big war event. Sorry sorry, I love the angst but-- Geten and Toga sharing those fears in a moment of pure weakness and then regretting it 'cause they are friends, but well... it's hard to fight back years of trauma.
5) I think Geten and Dabi would easily easily destroy one or two kitchens in weird cooking competitions. Easily. Also Toga is a master of the knife (to no one surprise) and Compress decides to act like the host of the event just for the jokes. PLF pure chaos!!!!!

13 for any of the ghosts?
13: subtle / fever
"Where's Alison?" Kitty asked the Captain, appearing out of nowhere.
"Good grief, Katherine! A little warning next time." The Captain made a show of dusting himself off, even though any dirt on his clothes could no longer be cleaned off. "I'm afraid she's caught a rather awful cold." He turned to Alison, who was slumped on the sofa next to him, clutching her head in her hands. "I did warn you, young lady, that a congregation of such size, in this season, would—"
Alison groaned. "I just went to the pub, Captain, I didn't..."
"I'm sure you'll be back in shape soon enough," he said. "Michael will keep the house running in the meantime, Katherine, and I shall see to it that any problems caused by your absence are resolved immediately."
As if to punctuate his statement, there was a loud crash from the other side of the house, and a shriek from someone who definitely wasn't Mike.
"Captain, you can't..." Alison began, then gave up.
"My presence is needed immediately," the Captain said. "There's no need to worry yourself, Alison; I shall keep you informed on how the situation is progressing."
Then he was gone, off to shout orders at a man who couldn't hear him.
"Thank God he's gone," Alison muttered, then moved to pick up the thermometer in front of her.
"That's rather rude," Kitty said.
"Yeah, but true. I think that made my headache ten times worse," Alison said. She checked her temperature. "Thirty-eight ... oh, God, there's so much work to do..."
"The Captain's right," Kitty said, "you mustn't overwork yourself. What if it's something serious?"
"It's just a cold, Kitty—"
"Well, my friend Charlotte came down with a fever just like yours, and within a week she was dead!" Kitty cried. "I only want you to recover quickly, that's all."
Right. Medical knowledge was much more limited in the 1700s, so people died quicker. Kitty was only trying to help, even if said help was, unfortunately, historically accurate.
At least she wasn't being lectured on disease by one of the plague ghosts.
"Okay," said Alison. "I'll just, um, lie down here, and you can ... I mean, we can talk about Pride and Prejudice?"
She had bought the novel for Thomas, only for him to get bored halfway through and demand 'another of those Eighth Doctor adventures, I believe they're called.' It was safe to say that she hadn't seen that coming.
"Oh, it's delightful!" Kitty said. "Of course, it's not quite like the world was when I was alive, but I already adore Elizabeth Bennet..."
Alison made a mental note to introduce Kitty to the 1995 adaptation. Or was it the 2005 version that everybody loved? Maybe it was both. She was too tired to remember.
"That's good," she said weakly. "I'm glad you like it; Thomas didn't."
"Yes, that surprised me," Kitty said. "Honestly, I don't know what he sees in that Doctor man; he's terribly cruel sometimes."
"I think he sees himself," Alison said. "That, or he has a crush on Paul McGann." If it was the latter, then fair enough; the man was certainly attractive.
"Who knows?" Kitty said, then went off on a tangent about how beautiful the blossoming romance between Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy was, and how awfully rude Mr. Darcy had been to begin with, but how she thought he'd improved rather a lot since the beginning of the book.
Alison, exhausted by both her cold and the ghosts' shenanigans, closed her eyes and tried to sleep.

now thats seven facts about elentari for you :)
for every ★ I get, I will post a fact about my characters!
oho! let's see...
★ Elentari is ambidextrous, originally a leftie. I like to imagine that since spellcasting can involve a lot of hand movements, the more powerful she became as a mage, the more she realised she could do with her right hand... and then she just kept practising until she could write equally well with both
★ she might be the Arch-Mage, but she's a horrible alchemist. once, she tried to brew a potion to fortify her magicka and turned herself invisible instead. nowadays, she leaves it up to Lucien, who's not perfect but his potions actually do what they're supposed to
★ she never had any pets growing up, but she's always had a habit of taking in injured animals, healing them up, and setting them loose. at first, it was small creatures like foxes, rabbits, and birds, but since Mara resurrected her and granted her a sort of kinship with wolves, she's fixed up the odd wolf or two and let them spend a night by her hearth. (of course, that means they keep coming back, and it's fortunate she lives in a quiet place near a waterfall in the hills between Riverwood and Whiterun or else she'd have some concerned neighbours...)
★ speaking of, post-resurrection, she didn't head straight to Skyrim. she fled Daggerfall by catching a ship to Anvil in Cyrodiil, stayed there a while, then eventually made her way to the Arcane University, where she studied for a couple of years until she felt a strange calling beckoning her north
★ she rides a mare named Nimloth (meaning "white blossom" in Old Bretic) who's so sweet and gentle that if you catch them on a quiet day, Ellie might let you feed Nim a sugar cube...
★ one of her most prized possessions, as well as hers and Nienna's engraved silver rings, is a cloak she sewed for herself. it's a soft blue trimmed in white fur, and she's carefully embroidered it in silver thread to create designs of flowers, leaves, stars, anything that takes her fancy. she likes to add to it now and then, and she's so attached to it that she takes the time to repair it each time it gets the slightest bit damaged
★ as far as her voice goes, I imagine it sounding like a softer, higher version of Keira Knightley's in Pride and Prejudice (2005). this wasn't exactly intentional on my part, but I read all my dialogue aloud when I'm writing and when I realised I was using that sort of voice for her, it stuck!

you have bewitched me, body and soul, and i love… i love you.
from pride and prejudice (2005) prompts. accepting!
you would think that having an actor as a boyfriend would make harper more used to his charms. after all, he watches taesoo's movies frequently enough to see how easily he turns on the charisma, never mind the constant flirting directed at him whenever they're together. he's seen them deliver the most devastatingly romantic lines on screen, and been at the receiving end of more scandalous words or sweet nothings. he should be immune, and yet ...
lips parted, harper stares at them with wide eyes and cheeks with red blooming over them. his heart plays a funny beat in his chest, and it takes everything in him to stop the strangled, nervous giggle threatening to erupt from him. he feels so shy suddenly, resisting the urge to hide his face in his sleeves. he's so flustered he almost feels dizzy, even though he's almost certain this isn't a line taesoo came up with himself. regardless, the fact that he's saying it is enough to make a giddy feeling bubble up inside him like a pot that's going to overflow.
"i, ah," he stumbles over his words, struggling to remember how sentence structure works when he has taesoo's gaze fixed on him like this. he almost makes a pathetic little noise and gives up, but even harper has more pride than that. he swallows, rubbing his hands on his cheeks for a moment.
Tumblr media
"okay, you love flustering me, and i get why that magazine said you're a heartthrob, but come on, what's with the wooing?" his voice is almost a whine, and he's half expecting taesoo to say something to fluster him further with his trademark smug smirk. "you just - i love you too ..."

I am coming clean and admitting I've had an unhealthy obsession these past few weeks analyzing the break up of Katie & Greg, my favorite ship from the entire Bachelor/ette franchise. I went down hard with this ship as it crashed and burned. From the beginning, I loved their chemistry and even if some say they were just trauma bonding over the passing of their fathers, I felt they had so much more going for them. I just figured out why I can't shake this pair out of my head.
Here it is: Katie & Greg remind me of Lizzie & Darcy from Pride & Prejudice, one of the greatest love stories ever told. The idea that a couple similar to a favorite fictional pairing could exist in real life had awakened the hopeless romantic in me.
Greg is totally Mr. Darcy. He is a family man, adorably awkward, reserved, internally tormented, but also deeply passionate. He's willing to dance to encourage affection.
Katie is like Lizzie. She is strong-willed, proud (maybe too proud), and has a sharp tongue. She gives no one permission to insult her. She loves her family even though they're embarrassing. Katie does not quite fit in with other women, but that is why she is so interesting.
Tumblr media
The opposite personalities of Lizzie & Darcy made their playful banter and relationship dynamic so enjoyable. They challenged each others' ideas. They expanded each others' consciousness as they learned more about each other. This was synergy at its finest.
Katie is from hipster Seattle while Greg is from fuss-free Jersey - two very different worlds at opposite ends of America. They brought these worlds together in beautiful balance. When they split, the Bachelor Nation fandom was divided like a broken family. At least Greg owned up the error of his ways, but Katie seems dead set on hating him. Eventually, the false narratives she tells herself to keep her walls up will unravel . I hope she faces the facts and owns up to her part in the communication breakdown. When Greg was most vulnerable, Katie could not show a hint of honest affection. She accused him of giving up on the relationship moments after he confessed his love for her. Katie only spoke of herself as a prize to be won, but to Greg, she meant so much more than just that. I hope she realizes the profound truth in what Greg was trying to tell her the day he left her. True love is more than just keeping up appearances for a show and more than just physical attraction. It is more than just saying the words "I love you" or handing out roses. Katie and Greg were more than just two hot people who were mutually attracted to each other. They had divine harmony when they were together... until they were burned by the heat of their own fire.
It is nice to know Greg just wants Katie to be happy, but I do not believe Katie & Blake have the secret sauce. Good for them for having a lot of sex, but from what I know, that kind of connection is not long term sustainable. If banging each other is the main reason they're together, they'll eventually get bored. Blake fell in love so easily with two previous Bachelorettes and that cheapens his affection for Katie. I'm sure he can bounce back quickly if Katie left him. Sorry man. Blake seems like a great person, but his intellect does not seem to match hers ("You don't have to be great. You just have to be you." dafuq?). I thought she was smarter, but maybe her flippant use of the term 'gaslighting' proves otherwise. It is shamefully elitist to point that out, but honestly, their conversation was drab when they weren't talking about sex. There are a lot of hot horny ladies out there that Blake might have more chemistry with than her. He was not even sure he wanted to propose and it was mean to tease her in the proposal speech with "I don't think I can give you what you came here for". The Say Anything references were also cringeworthy. We did not see their love get tested. She was like a damsel in distress and Blake just swooped in to save her season of the show just because he happened to be there. It was quite dull. The 'conclusion' of their journey was really unsatisfying. Katie describing their love story as "perfect" just shows the lack of depth in their relationship.
Tumblr media
Lizzie & Darcy were such beloved characters because they were both flawed. They both made mistakes, but because of their love, they were willing to overcome their pride and their prejudice. They corrected course and became the best versions of themselves at the end of the story before choosing to be together. "I was wrong" are three words that make the words "I love you" so much more meaningful. True love is transformational. Feelings of attachment are not true love unless there is consciousness. The best love stories are not about lovers conquering outside forces, but conquering their own inner demons. People truly in love consciously choose to grow together in spirit, not in spite of their imperfections, but because of them.
Greg was impatient and had unrealistic expectations. He should have given Katie more chances to figure out what he was saying. Maybe she found his desperation unattractive. Maybe if he helped her off the floor and said goodbye properly, she might have flown out to Jersey to go after him. Katie was shallow when she could only say "I just love looking at you" and spoke to Greg as if he were just a contestant on a game show. It seemed as if his pain was just an inconvenience to her. She seemed untrustworthy. If she had stronger feelings for Blake or was still undecided, openly expressing that to Greg would have been more respectable than stringing him along to dump him later. If Greg was the one she wanted the most, she looked incredibly fickle switching her affection to whoever was still available. Most people have not been in her situation, so it is tough to judge.
Tumblr media
Lizzie Bennet said a lot of mean things, but she was a strong female character because she was able to learn from her mistakes and grow as a person without compromising her core values. She was in love with Darcy for his character and integrity. He was courageous, generous, and compassionate - his appearance, his wealth and his status were least important to her. He proved his love for Lizzie by his selfless acts of kindness to her family even after she accused him of being a pompous ass.
Greg staying out of the way to honor Katie's decision and let her be happy with Blake is an act of love. Him working on himself in therapy is another way to prove the love he had for her was real. Only Katie knows the inner conflict she's been facing. If she truly loved Blake, resolving her conflict with Greg will help her and Blake in the long run - otherwise their relationship will be haunted by the past. If life with Greg was always her true heart's desire, love will find a way even in the most impossible circumstances.
It really is not fair to compare real human beings to fictional characters - especially the exceptionally (maybe unrealistically) strong characters written by Jane Austen. I am just sharing my thoughts before I watch the 2005 Pride and Prejudice movie for the hundredth time. I just want the satisfying ending I could not get from watching reality TV before I move on to my next obsession.

*rides in on the lucimon train* you ever think about hands? (the hand flex from 2005 pride and prejudice lives in my head rent free) Because I can't stop thinking about the idea that both of them are used to being so powerful and (potentially) causing so much harm to others if they're not careful. Like both of them are steadfast protectors of what they love and they'll do what has to be done, but occasionally they can be soft (and we see this in the game with mc). Or at least they want to be allowed the opportunity to be soft underneath that distant and aloof exterior? I wonder what it would take for these two to not fear what violence may be brought upon them by the other, and if they could ever find comfort in the hand reaching out to them.
Gloves......
I'm just thinking because glove symbolism is HOT. And like lucifer is all about composure and control so something something his gloves become like a physical representation of that barrier, of the tight leash he holds on his power that so few rival.
And Solomon doesn't wear gloves, but he still covers up. Because he has imoressive magical ability and prowess, but a large portion of his power comes from his conquering of demons and the knowledge he has hammered into his own head and he wears his long sleeves and turtleneck to cover those up......where was I going with this.......
I dont know my brain shut off but perhaps there's an opportunity for the vulnerability of relinquishing control and the only one who could handle your power is someone who rivals it (and, an important distinction for both of them, won't allow themselves to be blinded by marveling at it)

You watched Pride and Prejudice 2005? The hand kissing scene there, I sometimes want something like that for Jonsa. Soft and intimate and lovely. And sometimes I want them to fight so hard and lose their senses and fucking kiss each other until they're breathless. Can you feel me orange? And like we're kinda calling you orange is that okay? Would you want something else?
Oh I’ve been called orange for years.  It’s my name at this point, and I kind of love it.  I would legit answer to it in the streets, I shit you not, hahah.
But yes, I have seen the 2005 Pride and Prejudice (although I admit to being partial to the 1995 BBC version above all others, I rewatch it religiously, no lie).  I just adore that kind of heavy, yet distant intimacy - like standing at the precipice of something, this crazy bundle of emotion barely kept in check, the only hint of affection being a light graze of the lips, a hesitant touch, a steady look.  God, I live for that.  I truly do.  But then, I’m also like, “okay go at it like wolves, take what you need, and revel in it”.  I’m at so many extremes with these two, lol.
And actually, I took a look over my fics, and I realized that I tend to stay to those extremes.  I either have ‘barely checked affection and want’ or ‘all out ruin’, lol.  I can’t write anything else apparently.  XD
Also, not to spoil anything, but this next one-shot I’ve got coming up is more on the ‘tender hand kiss’ side than anything.  I hope you enjoy  ;)
