Still a pretty spineless worm, but I think that I've written a few... open but hopeful endings? That might leave a bit of angst on the tongue. Maybe 'I Know Your Name (But Not Who You Are)'?

Yeah same as last year, i fucking love a getting together trope, so a lot of mine are happy endings hahahaha.

Sebchal was my first F1 love, and therefore will always have a special place in my heart. That said, I think it would be a tie between sebson and sewis? Sebastian is the common denominator, as always, and there's something about... them seeing him grow from red bull to ferrari, the trust and respect? I can't articulate it but god I love them.

Ok i still stand with the above from past-liquid. I love landoscar so deeply, but time willl tell if they become all-time for me.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

Will I ever finish my angsty-domestic sebchal will I ever fucking finish it no i wont' but god fuck if i dont' wrangle with it at least once a month

Still really hard to say! I think maybe it's.... a willingness to try new things? 2024 has been a departure from my usual romcom and fluff content, and I've been experimenting with new themes (cannibalism, smut, pining). Idk if that's a strength, exactly, but I think it's a good thing :)

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

I :) cannot :) shut :) up :)

Probably pacing as a result of my obsessive exposition dumping. I also frequently get arrested by the "he wouldn't fucking say that" police tbh.

Oh, and I'm trying to break the habit of writing in a way that sounds good in my very specific mental inflection, which often doesn't translate well when someone else reads it. That's a hard habit to break. << still guilty of this, though I think I've improved a bit.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I don't mind it if it has a thematic purpose, but just for funsies? I don't see the value add << also still agree!

20. Favourite fic you’ve written?

I'm very thankful to my earlier fics, especially 'Changes, Beginnings'. That writing experience felt really formative to my finding my voice, even though it's still developing and solidifying.

But favorite... I actually really really love Choking on Greatness. It was incredibly niche, and hardly romantic at all, but it was SUCH a stretch for me and I feel like I? Executed? What I wanted? Which is not something I can often say about fics -- especially unusual ones.

Tied for favorite is probably You Bring Me Closer to God. Similarly, this theme felt really new to me, but I feel like I conveyed exactly what I pictured. I also love the whole universe it spun in my head, I so rarely create expansive, sprawling concepts that getting to play around in one has been delightful (there... there will be a sequel,,, one day)

oop the sequel to Second Time's the Charm has been in my drafts for.... ages.... and for some reason just won't come to me. I'll never say I won't finish it though, the idea could hit at any time!

I've also had a lestappen twitch streamer AU in my drafts for ages, but I can't seem to nail down the tone? The characterization, maybe.

Although I don't think it's my best fic, I have a soft spot for The Sum of Our Parts (sebchal). It was my second fic in the fandom, and it was the piece where I felt like I found my personal tone.

It was also the moment where I proved to myself that I could write more than one fic, that I could still come up with ideas like when I was younger. It was a very... solidifying experience, if that makes sense?

I'm thankful to that fic, despite all its flaws.

liquid i hope u feel better :( what is a fic premise/idea you wish existed but that you personally wouldn’t write, like something you want to read that isn’t out there that you wish would plop fully formed into the world

OOOOOOOH wait i love this. I have a two, and I mostly can’t write them either bc idk how to write the pairing? Or the concept is too outside my wheelhouse

1. Landoscar

I’ve definitely talked about this before, but I’m obsessed with the idea of a body swap that happens mid race or just prior to the start; if lando’s body wins, he basically doesn’t get to experience his first victory? He will just have to live the rest of his life pretending he experienced it? And if Oscar’s body wins, Lando will have to reach a pinnacle of his career but…. No one will know. Plus everyone will think Oscar won before he did, when he really didn’t.

Beyond the character work, it would be such a perfect plot to really explore the strength of their relationship, if it’s established. Does it break them apart? Does it somehow bring them closer together? How do you handle the weird experience of loss that Lando will be going through? Will Lando deprioritize Oscar’s emotions so much that it’s irreparable?

I think about it a lot. Def couldn’t write it, but if it existed I’d read it every day.

2. Jendo

Deeply deeply deeply deeply need a Jendo fic that’s like, Lando flirting more and more obviously with Jenson in post-race interviews until he snaps. I need teasing, increasingly flustered jenson, sexual tension, basically edging on live television. I need it more than anything on earth, why don’t I know how to write Jendo 😭😭😭
