my meds are working i think.

#i just... i have been laughing so much more #and i baked a pie for the first time in years #i stood up long enough to bake a pie!#and ive been crying a lot more which i know sounds bad but like #i was unbearably sad for years and literally Could not cry even though i was super like. existentially depressed #and its not like im not depressed anymore like i still have all the same thought patterns and stuff but its just #like i have more access to my emotions and the bad ones are kinda.#not tamped down actually cause thats what they were like most of the time before. almost hte opposite #like i opened the faucet and now i can just be sad when im sad instead of releasing the sadness slowly in general misery over three weeks #which is sorta the opposite of what lexapro did to me #and its not like i dont have bad days #like i had my period the other day and literally did not get out of bed lol #but thats a separate issue and now that ive separated those things i can address them both separately you know #like thats solvable. i will solve it some day #i thought i was going to solve it this summer but that. didnt work out i guess #but maybe in the fall ill be able to see a doctor who'll put me on hrt? allegedly the university doctors are trans friendly #fuck dude i just. im dumping a lot in here im just. even though things arent perfect i think i really have been having more good days #like on average per month #and fewer bad days #and i didnt even. realize that it could be like that honestly #i thought i was just doomed lol #and maybe im not??? its big.#personal #uh i cant do the reblog settings on this for some reason but yknow #dont rb. obviously

sometimes I feel really ridiculous and silly for being so obsessed with birdmen but then I open up the twitter for my childhood best friend and see image after image of a singular maplestory character and I'm like oh I'm normal after all I'm literally so normal

#just thinking thoughts...#it's blaster if anyone knows or cares...#it's like. you know how pixiv shows things in a tag in chronological order with 6 posts per row and it's just rows and rows of 6.#if you look at the tag for blaster she's got like 1 post in every row #which means like. on average. every sixth blaster post is her #if anyone cares that's also pretty much my post rate for birdmen on pixiv #but it's like. the pixiv tag for blaster I think moves at a faster rate and it's mostly posts with 1 or 2 images #whereas birdmen is like. if you know you are in this hellhole you know it. compilation posts for the last 3 months with 26 images be upon y #the birdmen tag these days on pixiv is like. me. the one insanely good japanese artist #some spillover from people who are mostly kekkaishi artists #random people who draw one picture and move on #and people who are posting like. bird-human anthro stuff #I've only made 6 pixiv posts in the birdmen tag because I'm patient. I know I am in this hell forever etc. no hurry.

I will not do the exercises given to me by my physio, whether that be because I forgot or I'm having executive dysfunction, and then be like "Man why am I in so much pain?"

#AUGH. Hate how I need to do exercises just so I can be in less pain + maybe reach an average level of strength #I have hypotonia so. Even my 16 year old sibling of whom I'm ~3 inches taller than is stronger than me #And I have noodle arms 😭 Which look especially silly compared to my stocky torso #I still need to try the other things the rheumatologist recommended #CBT therapy and a med she wants me to ask my psychiatrist abt to make sure it won't interfere with my ADHD meds #She also suggested hydrotherapy but. I'm a bit more nervous abt that considering I'm pre-top surgery.#My binders SAY that you can wear them swimming safely + are chlorine resistant but they say they're a lot harder to take off wet.#Which I worry means I'd need to get someone else to take it off of me. Which like. Augh. BUT YEAH anyway.#Iron text #Edit: Sorry a little bit more actually #My next psychiatrist appt isn't until late this month. And I am. Afraid to go through all the things I need to do to get to therapy.#With the public healthcare system you can get I think 8 psychologist appts for free per year if you get a mental health plan w your gp #But I think it also depends on the psychologist? Some might require you to pay regardless? I'm not sure #I've been to psychologists before but neither of them were that great and I'm worried it's gonna be similarly difficult now

I found it extremely hard to believe that -with all those cases and regularly changing seasons- only 6 months have passed/are supposed to have passed within the Detective Conan universe. I decided to speed read the manga and to work on an overview to prove my thesis, and while I’m nowhere near done yet I had to come to the conclusion that (if we ignore the change of the seasons) yes indeed, only 6-7 months have passed so far. At least within the first 1000 chapters lol.

#majority of the cases take place between October and March #But there are also many July/August cases #can’t believe technology really went from floppy disk and phone booth to iPad and smartphone all within the span of 6 months lmao #I might post my notes once I’m done #Conan has like 2 cases per day on average #he’s a death angel no one can convince me otherwise #detective conan #meitantei conan

You know what? I haven’t been cat called, barked at (by humans, not dogs, dogs have done plenty of barking), grabbed, or followed in a vehicle ONCE since I moved here. And I have CERTAINLY not been propositioned through a car window in the middle of the night in a pharmacy parking lot. And actually people are generally way MORE respectful and well behaved. The only times I’ve even been approached have been a few older people who had questions about what to do after xyz or if I had change or whatever

I really like TCF, and I'm interested in book binding. So of course I was curious how much "book" would be needed to adapt the whole LN. I knew it was really long, so it'd take a couple big ones to include everything. Then I did some quick calculations and um. Uh. Well, here's a little math:

50k words at the minimum comfortable size and font comes out to approximately 100 pages. The average "largest" size books contains ~600 pages (at minimum size). That being said, it would kill me to read such tiny text for very long. Realistically, a comfortable font size (for me) would be 350 per page at most, so I'll be using that number moving on.

With that in mind, some of the more popular large book series like Eragon (906k total words, largest book having 280k words or 880 (803) pages) and Harry Potter (1M 84k total, largest having 257k or 870 (735) pages).

TCF has approximately 2M 150k words, 776 chapters. In part one. Ok, so... 2,150,000 words, with 1 page being ~350 words... that's 6143 pages. And if we gave each title in the series ~800 pages each, that's still 8 GIGANTIC books. TL;DR:

Eight books, 350 words per page, 800 pages each.

For reference, here's the A Song of Ice and Fire series, 1M 770k words, 4.2k pages (~400 words per page), 5 books total (~840 pages per book).

THAT'S A LOT OF BOOK.

WOW.#I don't have the patience to bind that many pages #For fun I looked up how long the average reader would take to read 2M words and uh #At average reading speed (300 wpm) it would take you 110 hours minimum. 95 if you're a fast reader (350 wpm)#If you were read for a solid 3 hours every single day it would still take you 32-37 days #If you were insane and burnout wasn't a problem you could read it in 19-22 days at 5 hrs a day #More fun numbers: avg words per chap for TCF is ~2.8k #I don't have that much time so I read about 400 chapters over the course of 1.5 months. That's abt 1.5 hrs of reading a day #Look at me being all healthy and stuff #Ahem. Anyways. I like numbers

end of year writing wrap-up - 2022

Earlier this year I started doing monthly writing goals, along with monthly writing wrap-ups. I fell off in the fall, mainly due to feeling too busy, but I really wanted to do an end of year wrap-up nonetheless! And start again, now that it's the new year - it was a good way for me to remember what I'm working on, and to feel a bit accomplished and note progress even when I felt like I hadn't made any. This list is really entirely for myself, as a record keeping type thing.

On a fun note, this year I got really caught up in OFMD, and wrote a ton for it! Some with pals, some by myself. It's been a really fun new fandom to write for! I haven't written as much for UnDeadwood, which I'm hoping to change a bit this year (but aren't pushing myself on. Where my brain goes it goes).

So, without further ado - all the fics I've worked on this year, including word counts for each (only word counts written this year, based on best estimate, unless otherwise noted):

Jesus fucking christ??? That's so many words?? I've felt a lot less productive writing-wise this year, but that might be because my 'published ao3' word count for this year is only around 135K - meanwhile I've written around 175K more words that haven't been published yet. Huh.

(This also goes to show that I really, really have a problem with writing sprawling works that I have difficulty actually finishing enough to publish lmao. Glad to see that hasn't changed XD)

#worried it'll make me feel more pressured and not enjoy as much lol but i need the extra money more #if I'm mathing right it'll add average about $150-200 extra per month so not like an insane amount but still very helpful #for actually having any chance of being able to stay on island much longer so really appreciate their offering it lol #also asked if i want to start doing more of the sound tech since we've largely lost our resident dj since they got an actual club job #so that could be interesting once i can actually properly learn all that lol

I'm not gonna do a 2022 in review for my writing bc I wrote Two Things, but I did some loose math and I wrote around 166,000 words this year, half of that in just November and December. It was around 13,000 words to finish off Got The Whole Damn Nation On Their Knees in time for Courier Lucinda's August "birthday."

89,000 is from the latest version of this novel I've been working on, where I wrote about 50k in November and another 30k in December, and it'll need some major rewrites and quite a few more scenes added until it's where I'm happy. The last 62,000 words are earlier versions of the same novel, rewritten to around 20,000 words each time. Some of the bulk of both the 62k and the 89k are notes, but not most of it. Dunno when it'll be done, bc January is gonna be Carnifex Month. Maybe later next year.
