Associated with duality, reincarnation, resurrection, childhood innocence (and it getting ripped away by adults), and her 'counterpart' Kore, which is her in her returning aspect of spring, youthfulness, new life... Come on. Is that not the closest thing to Billy you've ever seen in ancient Greece? Where he gets his powers?

It all starts with Teth Adam, and his devastation at the death of his son. He finds the old paths, breaks them open, and storms down into the underworld to demand him back. His is not a new story.

But where Persephone might ordinarily be inclined to ease her husband's scorn, give the troubled mourner a chance, she is speaking to the champion of magic, the world's mightiest mortal. The chance of success is too high. The challenge would not be enough. The death was too high profile and would risk too many attempting to follow in his footsteps. The man is too unstable, too powerful, too close to the heart of magic for it to be safe - for any of him - to grant his wish and risk his false hope.

They deny him.

Enraged, implacable, Teth Adam lashes out. The battle is long and drawn out, neither side tiring even as both weaken, but Persephone, in either form, is not one of war, and she is felled as her curses shatter, her furies tossed aside like dolls. He's restless in winter and distracted in summer, he can sleep outside in howling storms as long as he's tucked snug in the boughs of a tree, he's had the luck of never tasting a rotten fruit. Sometimes it feels like there's ghosts in his hideouts and the kids at school try and bribe him to curse their enemies.

When he chosen to be Captain Marvel the wizard chokes on his own speech when the smoke clears. They stare at each other.

"Well," says Persephone, "that was unexpected. Hullo."

"Hello," the wizard replies, "I was under the impression..."

"I don't think the laws of interference quite apply until I'm immortal again," he says.

So in this a/b/o au where Marc joins the vr46 pack after reconciling his mating with Vale, my obsession is the relationship between Bezz and Marc (it’s rosquez but vale is literally not the most important part of most of the little plot bunnies I have half written lmaooo). I just can’t stop thinking about how, once they finally got over Bezz’s grudge against him, they’d really get on well. I think Marc would adore Bezz (like everyone else does) and I think Bezz would appreciate having another leader-figure in the pack who he doesn’t look at with like, rose colored glasses.

Like Bezz has gotten used to working/being pack with Vale at this point, but that doesn’t change the fact that he grew up literally idolizing him. And I feel like having someone around who Bezz can turn to without that history of hero worship would be so important. And they’d understand each other as omegas in a world that is quite literally entirely alpha dominated (I wrote a scene where Bezz and Marc talk about how they’ve never really had omega friends before 🥺)

But going with that I also feel like Vale would be OBSESSED with how they love each other. Like Bezz hating Marc was actually super terrible for him when he and Marc first fixed their bond because he wanted his pack and his mate to get along, so when they finally befriend each other it’s his favorite thing!!! And he loves that they make their little omega nests and exclude him so they can spend time together!!! And he loves that Bezz finally has someone who understands exactly what it feels like to be an omega

I think a big thing that pisses me off with the living room getting rearranged is that means people are going to be in it more (or have the potential to be). and that means less time for me to be in the kitchen, and more of me being pissed off because there are people in a space where I need to be cooking, more time of me being in pain bcs of my hunger bcs I'm afraid to have to interact and I'm overwhelmed by hearing sounds.

like when I first moved here, it was clear that the dining room was a glorified utility space. no one actually used it. and it looked ugly as hell, but at least it avoided some interactions. but now it looks nice. people are going to want to bring others over. and for some reason, when one of my roommates has friends over, they all stand around the kitchen instead of going into the dining room? I've had multiple occasions where I have to ask people to actually physically get up or move because I need to cook in my kitchen where they're sitting on the counter or blocking the fridge??

and I just fucking hate sound in general. i dont want to hear people talking i dont want to hear them walking i want it silent where I live!!! I want peace and to be left tf alone!!! i don't want to live here. It's interesting to note how the Tabris Origin, which involves a wedding, kidnapping and attempted sexual harassment, and fighting your way through an estate full of guards, is the Origin where gender plays a huge role in what story you experience. M!Tabris will always storm the castle coming to the rescue of his cousin and his betrothed, while F!Tabris will always have to fight her way out because the men in her life can't fully protect her (Nelaros dies, Soris literally hands her the sword, Cyrion is powerless to stop the abduction. Okay, this may be a little unfair to Soris who does fight side by side with Tabris and counsels caution the same way regardless of Tabris's gender). I'd go so far as to say that Tabris is the only Origin where the gender of your PC has a definite impact on the story.

TLDR to the rant in the tags: Tabris is constrained on all sides by being an elf, by their gender, in part by their family, and by society at large (both the Alienage and the wider city).
