the people of gaza are living under literal apocalyptic conditions and life just kind of. goes on. i have chem homework due wednesday. the science museum is looking for volunteers. pharmacy-checkout tabloids advertise the latest exploits of Head Case Harry and Sleepy Joe. taylor just announced “tortured poets department.” girls in my class walk to safeway for lunch, come back with colorful drinks in plastic starbucks cups. bumper stickers everywhere: don’t use 5G!! car seats stained with mcdonald’s potato grease. news about the genocide delivered between sponsorships and podcast recommendations. everyone an ally, no one an activist. what is there left to say at this point??

Goodbye Volcano High among NPR's best video games of 2023!!
An impending meteor is racing toward Pangea, but Fang, a nonbinary anthropomorphic pterodactyl, has more pressing issues. Their best friend is showing more interest in entomology than the band they started as kids. A shy would-be paramour has started sending Fang anonymous texts. And their brother is trying to hold the family together as their parents struggle to connect with Fang. Meanwhile, news of the coming meteor rolls out slowly: It’s met first with a shrug and then with social media memes and despair — not unlike our own experiences with COVID-19 and climate change. The imminent apocalypse amplifies tensions among Fang’s gang of dorky dinosaur friends, all of whom are also dealing with the sudden cancellation of plans and aspirations. But aided by a brilliant dialogue system and Rock Band-style rhythm challenges, Goodbye Volcano High still manages to be wholesome and hopeful, even in the face of potential extinction. — James Mastromarino, NPR Gaming lead and Here & Now producer

ultimately i do think one of the most romantic things about moiraine and siuan's relationship is just the absolute joy they must feel abt being fully understood by another human being for the first (and possibly only) time in their entire lives. throws up ❤️

anyways let me take a break from my usual brainrot so i can spread my yumekai disease
yumehara and kaido are literally perfect for each other but they just arent grown enough to know it yet.. theyre both chuunibyous and are actually really similar to one another but both of them are too immature to truly see one another for who they are, chiyo because shes looking through rose colored (practically love poisoned) lenses and shun because shes a girl..
neither of them are ready for romance but chiyo tries to jump in headfirst whenever she gets the chance with any guy she can (mostly just cuz shes childish, but also a bit comphet of her🤥bi chiyo is something to consider..) while shun just fully does NOT think about it at all
they both just need to grow up a little bit before they can get to know each other for real, and then theyre perrrfect😋👍they prob get together in college and are lame losers together
