Headcanon #500:

Mind is afraid that when he distances himself from or above the others, that he will be too far gone to come back down. That when his paranoia gets the best of him, he'll shut everyone else out and then be completely alone with no way back to where he was before.

Heart is afraid that if Mind is right, with the idea that what he does isn't genuine, that he's being manipulative without realizing it. Then therefore being Whole without himself there is the better option. That he'd be thrown out because his ideas would then be "not worth it" or even "vile"

Soul is afraid that no matter what he does or how good things will be, they'll always eventually split up again or even end up worse. Even then he has no clue what he's supposed to do or be during everything, and so because of that he'll never be whole. Or worse that he'll never really "feel" whole.

one thing i love so so much about wyll is that he's an atheist, not in the sense that he doesn't believe in them, they are materially real in the DnD setting, but that he doesn't think they're worthy of worship "the only thing the gods have ever given me is a cold shoulder" it's so evocative, so poignant, it says so much about him as a character. and really, to me, encapsulates the essence of his character: there is no divine intervention, there are no miracles, there are only people, and for them he's willing to sacrifice more than any god ever would

it's kind of fucked up how being john's 'favourite' actively harmed amanda so much. he tests her 3 times, intended to test her 4 (she was supposed to be bloodboarded), leaves her scarred both mentally and physically. hoffman, on the other hand, only gets 'tested' by john twice*, and the first one didn't even have any risk of harm to him. to a normal person that may make it seem like hoffman were his favourite, but john is incredibly abnormal and his testing mandy is him trying to help her. they're all vying for john's favour and yet john's favour is what got amanda killed.

*the unloaded shotgun chair, and the reverse bear trap. I don't count the ice trap as he was never even under the impression he would get hurt, and him being put in the bathroom was less a trap from john and more lawrence getting rid of him in him own way.

#CONTEXT: we were talking about the james somerton bullshit #anytime someone at a party asks me what i majored in i say 'marketing and finance but i hated it the entire time i promise im normal' #can confirm though that 80% of business majors suck ass at writing let alone coming up with original ideas #in first year we had a mandatory business writing class because it had gotten so bad among previous cohorts #and everyone i talked to hated it because we had to read actual books and the professors were lit. phds with actual standards #'they mark way too hard i got 60% on everything' have you considered that this is a. skill issue. #also 60% is just. expected for certain humanities courses lolll at least in business our grades get curved #so you're only hurting your GPA if you write worse than everyone else lol. but good luck with that #anyways that's just a fraction of why my classes were terrible. but the writing thing annoyed me the most when I was doing group essays. #beepbeep.txt

Random question: how does m!Cesar feel about surnames? Does he use the surname Hernández? Does he understand why humans use surnames? Does he like the concept of them?

He doesn't really use a name past Cesar. At least, not for a good long while - it feels like taking too much from the man he killed and replaced, and he sees how painful even sharing his first name is for Mark. Eventually though, he does take a surname and it helps him feel more like his own person :)
